Hal knew, realistically, that being 10 meant his soulmate marks wouldn’t show up until he was about 13 or 14, or even later depending on his soulmate's situation. Jack hadn’t even gotten his yet, and he just turned 15! Nonetheless, Hal started writing on his arms as soon as he turned 10- just in case. Just in case his soulmate was older than him, and the connection had already gone through on their end. Just in case they needed someone, the other half of their soul. Hal sure did, that’s for sure. His father had just passed away, and he’d never felt more alone.
