Chapter 1: i'll take what i am given

Chapter Text

Viktor coughs up a bit of blood, his stomach hurts and body burns- he can feel his knees buckling due to its weakness. He grabs his cane limping along towards the wall to catch himself, he whimpered panting. focus, he think, just gotta get down to the undercity. Viktor managed to stumble off, his eyes foggy and dazed from the pain; he curses himself as he holds the wall coughing up blood, he wiped his mouth then sighing heading him way out the building.

"Viktor, you're out early- shocker" the front desk woman said, he cleared his throat "very shocking, maybe god is being easy on you"  he said, she chuckled a bit muttering a simple good night as he left, he soon leaned against the wall coughing more stumbling as he made his way farther down the road ignoring the enforcers who passed, it was a usual sight to see him stumbling after a long day or having some ill reaction. he soon saw the entrance gates and held onto the rugged bars as he made his way down.

never will he forget the scent of oil, booze and smoke that reeks through out the area. He knew exactly where to go, it was a common spot for the scientist- the place was a bit colder than he remembered, but then again, it had been months since he's been down there. He stared at the entrance then limped heading inside "singed? are you- here?" he asked, his voice soft and clearly on edge

"Viktor, long time no see.." the scientist says as he emerges from the dark corner of his makeshift lab, he looked over jumping a bit "i-i may need assistance, it has been a while yes but- i am getting sick faster than normal." he said softly, the scientist nodded walking over as if examining him, soon he realizes something "i fear this is far from something simmer could aid to slow down.." Viktor's expression drops "but, i do have something else I've been working on.

this peaks the young man's interest, the man opens a case of a bright red substance "this is a newer work of mine, i wouldn't give this to just anyone but- i know you well, young Viktor" he said softly, gesturing to the case, he soon took out a vial giving him it "once i give you this, you will never feel the same. it will be both a blessing and a curse to you. but, i recommending consuming once at home." he said softly, Viktor stared then nodding taking it "what..is it?" he asked raising his brow

Singed staring at him, he hummed a bit "well, it is what i would say it is a- somewhat a elixir of life, something to revive the soul." he said, Viktor stared at it shocked then at him, he stammered "i uh, how did you create this?" he asked softly, intrigued by the concept "limits, my friend. i can only give so much." he said, Viktor went quiet before nodding looking off holding it tightly "when- how should i repay you?" he asked, the man waved his hand dismissing the mere idea "i want no money, just seeing you would be enough." he said patting his shoulder. seeing me is enough, what a odd thing to say.

Viktor opens his door, soon he notices Jayce- he perks up heading over to the sickly scientist "you've-been waiting?" he muttered looking him up and down, he rubbed his neck "uh- yeah, i was worried for you. you were late then normal.." he muttered softly looking at him, his doe eyes focused on the other touching his shoulder "i'm not a child, i can handle going out late on my own." he teased, patting his back walking past but Jayce furrowed his brows "i'm not- i just want to make sure your alright ,V"

"you act as if your my father, quite odd seeing how i'm older." he said, Jayce scoffed at his dismissive tone rolling his eyes "i was out getting my pain medications, don't fear" he continued, Jayce slightly loosened his tense shoulders making him hum, he stared softly humming "you should head to bed though, you have a important meeting no?" he muttered, Jayce jumped as looked at his calendar on the wall "we'll handle the rest of the work later, we both.. will- sleep" Viktor said, Jayce looked at him then smirked "whoa, who are you? what did you do with my partner?" he said playfully elbowing him, he chuckled a bit in response "oh hush, you pain- I've been busy for days meaning.. i need a nap." he grumbled wiping his face.

Jayce smiled a bit rubbing his back "good night, V" he said softly, he smiled a watching him leave; he looked at the vial in his hand then went into his room. he closed the door, he sighed then rubbing his neck opening it then muttering a soft swear. he chugged the vial, he snarled shaking his head "nngh- taste like metal.." he grumbled then sighing going to shower.

Viktor soon stared at his neatly made bed, it had hardly been touched since he started this job. he sighed laying down, he groaned in discomfort then sighing, it was more comfortable than his old spots such as a chair or the literal floor, which Jayce and heimerdinger has both commented is "unhealthy" apparently. he laid there shuffling suddenly feeling colder as the hours passed, his skin despite the cold feeling was sweating. he groaned a bit.

Viktor soon got up, his head was ringing and chest felt tight; he went over to the cluttered table across his room looking for his pain medication, he soon gasped holding his throat; his eyes wide as he coughed spitting up blood, he frantically grabbed at anything he could but soon fell onto the ground. he coughed gasping and gagging as he basically went red in the face, he forced himself towards the desk again trying to get some leverage but nothing worked, he could feel his heart squeezing as if about to pop, his eyes blurry and teary. "j-Jayce-" he tried to spit out.

As if by pure faith, he saw Jayce open the door clearly worried from hearing the loud thud; his eyes widened as he went to him as he coughed and gasped "Jesus, Viktor!" he yelled out going to him, he helped him sit up the best he could, his coughed violently "look at me- look here, can you speak?" he asked frantically, Viktor gave him a annoyed look as he held his throat gasping, he soon lifted him up "i-i'll go get help, stay here!" he rambled clearly panicked setting him on the bed, Viktor watched as the other frantically rushed around trying to find at least a shirt to wear, he then went out the room

Viktor gasped, drooling blood as he stared at the buzzing lights in his room before his vision finally went dark falling with a thud; all he could hear was Jayce shouting out panicked hearing the sound of his limp, frail body hitting the ground.

beep....

beep...

Viktor groaned weakly looking around, trying to sit up; to his surprise it was far easier than any time in his life even with shimmer, a nurse stood writing his back turned away from the man; his eyes focused on whatever he was writing. "uh- what is.. where am i?" he asked confused, the man looked over in shock dropping the book gasping "oh my- you're awake!" he muttered slowly going towards him shocked, he looked around noticing the empty room, despite being still hooked up the technology no sounds signaling his heart beat or even blood flow was going, the room was completely silent other than the nurses heavy panting "why- wouldn't i be awake..?" he asked confused

The young nurse went to check his neck, pushing two fingers on his neck as if checking his pulse- his eyes widened as he backed up "y-you shouldn't even been moving, y-you flatlined a near hour ago.." he said, Viktor froze shocked soon checking his own pulse- his fingers were frozen cold. he softly gasped then looking at the nurse "have you informed anyone about this..?" he asked checking his skin noticing the ashy purple veins on his body, he hummed as he thought to himself

this was too dark for shimmer, he thought- "we- we were about to speak with your emergency contact, we usually wait until the body is properly documented before going." he slightly rambled clearly in shock as he stared. Viktor hummed thinking then put his hand up "refrain from calling anyone, don't even put that i flatlined. i- we can't risk this being put out, many things will spread." he said standing up prepared to fall but he was steady, he hesitated as he stood straight for the first time in his life. his eyes stared at his feet in shock.

something to revive the soul. What did he do to make this even possible? "sir, I'm afraid i cannot do that, it goes against the code.. even in such a rare case." he muttered, Viktor feels his ear twitch- a new feeling that he's never experienced. "what do i have to do for you to consider..? please, i cannot have such a thing come out. i- i have quite a reputation already and i can't afford to be bothered." he said going towards him, the man stared shocked; a slight glow goes into the nurse's bright golden eyes, he slightly relaxes "i- i suppose i could, this once.." he muttered. Viktor blinked shocked before dropping it as he touched the others shoulder "thank you, i-i may need to be picked up though so please do contact Jayce." he muttered.

quite odd how fast he agreed, what would change his mind so quickly. he watched as the nurse left the room after writing it down; he soon grabbed his cane, it felt foreign now- his hand gripping it in familiarity but his body struggled to even lean onto it. he softly sighed sitting down, he hummed a bit; he looked around sighing a bit. he hummed a bit, he leaned onto the bed huffing a bit "what could possibly be making me- stay alive..?" he mumbled confused, then huffing rubbing his neck looking off.

Viktor sat on the bed looking at his hands, he took in the physical changes such as the dark tint on his fingers and slightly longer nails. He hummed a bit confused before perking up hearing footsteps, he slowly went over opening the door seeing Jayce nearly opening the door; he blinked processing the fact he was standing "you- walked to the door.." he said, Viktor looked down at his own legs then at the taller man with a slight shrug "yes, i seem to be walking a bit now.." he muttered.

Jayce immediately hugged him tightly, he slightly stumbled worried before noticing that Jayce touching his hands and then his forehead making him hum in discomfort. "you're freezing, do you want my coat..?" he asked worried, he shook his head "i- oddly enough, do not feel cold. Just.. hungry" he commented looking off, he hummed a bit. "that's stupid, just- here, wear it anyways. you're barely wearing much other that that drape of a hospital gown." he said as he took off his jacket, Viktor sighed

"Jayce, i fear i do not-" he tried to stop him but watched as he took off his clothes, his sleeveless shirt being clean yet his broad shoulders clearly caused the fabric to stretch. "you- i think, you may be cold too if i uh-take it." Viktor stammered out gulping a bit. Jayce stared then looking at himself chuckling awkwardly, rubbing his neck "i'll be fine. you matter far more. You get colder before me." he said softly, he hummed in response looking at his body still. I where do i start? where do i stop actually- he thought looking between his face and his body then gulping a bit clearing his throat.

"let's just head home. please, i need to.. eat something before i possibly pass out again- at least, I'd be here beforehand " he grumbled, Jayce's eyes softened. the young man stared sadly at the attempt of a joke.

"yeesh, liven up. i'm merely joking." he muttered a bit, patting his shoulder walking back to grab his cane. He hummed a bit walking past Jayce but he grabbed his shoulder, making him stop. "ah, wear it." he said putting the jacket over his shoulders, he rolled his eyes looking off "are you suddenly more than my partner now, hm? you act as if i am in need of aid." he said huffing,

the other got flustered while looking off clearly embarrassed. "well, V- you had a major health scare, when i found you like that you looked.." he muttered, Viktor hummed looking down "i get it, fine, i'll humor you this once." he said snapping his fingers "enough talk, let's head home. i need to work and eat something." he grumbled

Very odd, this hunger isn't what he was used to. it was clawing at his stomach and confusing his mind a bit. he hummed as he sniffed the air making his way through the hospital before looking towards the scent, noticing a cart with various types of blood. He snarled a bit then jumping once Jayce touched his shoulder "you alright, Viktor..?" he asked softly, he hummed a bit with a nod "just- a bit.. tired." he responded softly. Jayce looked around before pulling a wheelchair over "sit, i'll push you." he said, he huffed annoyed a bit continuing to walk.

"You're doing it again, stop babying me Jayce. i am not a child who needs help." he grumbled as he kept walking before tripping making Jayce chuckle. "You will not be allowed in the lab for the week." he said catching his footing again making him put his hands up clearly offended "I was warning you! you can't be upset if i warned you." he said huffing, following behind him. Viktor huffed.

Chapter Text

Viktor wakes up, that's shocking.

His eyes focused on the brightness of the moon leaking in, he stared confused- have i been asleep all day?- he sits up reaching for his cane sighing a bit. he soon headed out the door of his room, he noticed a plate of food on the table; he smiled a bit reading the note

saw you were sleeping, didn't want to wake you but i had a meeting really late today so- i made you food! enjoy it, V

- Jayce :)

how sweet, he thought- he opened it and stared shocked "he made Moravský vrabec..? where the hell-" he muttered then remembering how he said it was a food he enjoyed eating when he was younger living with Heimerdinger, must of asked him about it when he was still asleep. he sighed soon perking up sniffing the air, a strange sweet smell, he made his way out the house looking around confused. He was never aware of certain smells

his senses were a million times advanced. his eyes focused on the ground seeing blood drops, he stared as his eyes slightly gleamed following the trail; he gulped a bit "Viktor, your out earl- oh. bye..?" another assistant said, viktor froze sniffing a bit "you're bleeding." he muttered looking towards the young woman who stared confused.

"oh, yeah- i was petting a creature and well- it wasn't as friendly as they looked." she muttered shyly pushing his hair back. Viktor stared at her "do you- need help? i could.. give you something to wrap it up " he asked, she perked up going red hiding behind her book "uh- well, sure.." she said, he stared, he blinked processing how easily she agreed. "let's head inside, it might get infected." he muttered leading her inside, she hummed a bit heading inside. Don't do anything stupid, don't feed into those weird thoughts- before he knew it they were inside, he watched her look around in awe. "this is gorgeous.. my god, your equations are beautiful' she said, touching the board, his eyes fixated to the blood slightly smearing on the board

"you- uh, are bleeding on the board" he said softly, she gasped a bit pulling her hand back "i apologize, i've always wanted to see your work! i adore your work since the academy!" she said shyly, looking off embarrassed. Adore me? how shocking, he thought, a sinking feeling melted his stomach. "do you- think i could get a banda- ah!" she said, he stood close to her holding her hand examining her fingers. Her eyes widened "i heard you were very distant so- seeing you this close is so uh-" she rambled, he could feel his teeth starting to hurt

"u-uh, are you alright..?" she muttered, he gulped backing up, "my apologies, i uh- have to find the- y'know, bandages." he muttered heading over to his room grabbing bandages, he took a deep breathe heading back "i- always thought you were a kind man. very sweet, the undercity spoke so kindly of you.." she said softly, he perked up holding the cane "they..talk about me still in the undercity..?" he said softly, sitting down; she nodded. he hummed as he gave her bandages "if you want, i could give you some food as well..?" he asked, she shook her head wrapping her hands humming softly.

Viktor hummed a bit "what do the people there say- if i may ask?" he muttered a bit, she looked at him with a smile "they think you're a hero, a icon for youth who help us all." he muttered, he looked at her hand feeling bad "you are from..?" He asked softy, she chuckled a bit looking down "the under city, I uh- I got sponsored by a few people who saw my work at a festival." She explained softly, he hummed nodding a bit "fascinating, what did you do- if I may ask?" He muttered softly."

"I made a prototype variant of a healing injection, it uh- helps aid some with illness.." she muttered, his eyes softened. "You..are a good person, I'm glad that a fellow zaunite had the chance to show our talent and intelligence" he muttered softly, her eyes went teary

"It's such a honor to hear that from someone like you." She whispered softly, he smiles a bit shrugging "ehh, I'm merely some sickly scientist" he muttered softly patting his shoulder, he chuckled a bit shrugging. She looked over noticing the clock gasping, she sat up picking up her books "I should get going! Thank you for helping with the injury, I hope I wasn't a bother!" She rambled shaking his hand then running out the door.

He blinked smiling a bit, he soon saw the blood on the board going towards it wiping it off sighing, he hummed "hm..odd" he muttered then sniffing it a bit, a sickly sweet scent filled his nose. He gasped a bit, he soon looked at the door then his finger; wouldn't be too wrong, he thought then licking it with a cringe expression.

Sweet, a small lick has send a reaction to his mind; he softly hummed licking it again completely consuming the small drop. He covered his mouth shocked "blood shouldn't be sweet." He muttered to himself then wiping the last bit off soon heading to his room

Book, book, book- there! He grabbed a clean, empty journal humming a bit; he soon wrote about the vial of the liquid and even the near death experience. He sat up hearing something, the door opened "V? I'm home, I uh- brought some drinks?" Jayce yelled out, he put the journal down going towards him "you're actually awake! God, you look..actually really healthy" he said holding his shoulders smiling. He blinked confused "oh uh- yes, i am getting better." He said shrugging.

Jayce patted his shoulder "you down to finally eat, bud?" He teased gesturing to the food, he chuckled softly "shame on me. I completely forgot, i..wanted to ask though- how did you learn to make this?" He asked softly, jayce went red rubbing his neck shyly "I uh, I care about you- I mean, I don't want you be ill and hungry." He said.

Cute. I should shame him more.

Jayce should be focused on more on the meeting but, the mere thought of his partner-his friend- in pain or discomfort will always make his stomach sink, he cooked for him yes, but he ate none of it. maybe he's mad? maybe he doesn't like it anymore? "-jayce?" mel inquires, he jumped looking towards her as she sits down at the desk with plate of food offering him, he puts his hand up to decline but she gives it nonetheless. he hummed completely surrendering to her "you haven't ate since viktor got out, that and you've been busy. i'd appreciate if both of my loyal scientist aren't near death" she teased, he chuckled wiping his face

"is my tiredness obvious?" she let out a laugh, looking at him "as obvious as your physical you have eyebags, it's like seeing you when you first started" she said leaning against the table tilting her head, her eyes were soft and kind as he tone.

Mel tend to tease, it was her way of affection i suppose. "i just- i worry for V, he hasn't been eating and- i mean, he looks good. he looks amazing actually, but it still worrying. i-i can't help it" he muttered shyly looking off, she chuckled a bit rubbing his shoulder. "i understand, but he is his own person- he can help himself." she said, Jayce sighs looking at the food poking it "i know, i know- i don't want another scare like that" he said looking at his hands

"when i found him that night- he was freezing cold, it was like he..like, his whole body gave up, his breathing was almost nothing." he muttered messing with his bracelet "i'm sorry, i know how scary that is.. to see someone you care about like that" she said softly, he hummed a bit. Mel smiled a bit, holding his hand "if you would like, i could try and see if you can get- maybe, get some time off. I mean, hearing what happened about Viktor scared me too." she said looking off "never expected you two to be close.." he teased, she rolled her eyes

"we have similar taste in some things, i like hearing his point of view on certain matters. he's honest and blunt, i admire it" she said, he blinked then looked at her "you like his sass." Jayce said with a slight smirk, she smiled shrugging "i quite enjoy it, yes. it makes conversations interesting" she responded then tapping his plate "now, eat before i call your mother to handle you" she said, he flinched then scoffing

"damn, blackmailing? you really are like your mom" she gasped with a smirk "death to you, jayce talis" she said standing up "oh, come on. i merely am teasing" he said putting his hands up in defence, she smiled "do us both a favor and take care of yourself" he hummed a bit. she messed with his hair then walking off, he laughed a bit.

jayce poked the food, eating some leaning against his hand- viktor. i wonder why he's so strong in my mind. he tilted his head, smiling a bit. Maybe it's that crooked smile, those pretty moles and soft kind voice. god, his hands are nice too, they're soft compared to my own- Jayce perked up snapping out of his throat then clearing his throat embrassassed, he stood up taking his plate leaving the spot.

"are you hungry?"

"no, i do not need any food- i ate what you left" he said softly, Jayce smiled- viktor sat there writing something down. he blinked confused, he slowly looked over "what is that..?" viktor jumped soon hitting him, he gasped holding his jaw shocked. viktor covered his mouth "oh- oh my god, i am so sorry. i- never meant to actually hit you" he said shocked, jayce laughed shocked "you slap me, like genuinely hit me." he said chuckling "you're laughing, why are you laughing..?" he said shocked, he kept laughing patting his shoulder "you are- a asshole, jayce" he grunted out standing up, he held his hand gesturing him to sit back down "no no, i'm sorry- i'm just happy. That hit actually stung" he said. Viktor perked up looking at him, shocked by the statement "don't tease me, jayce." he muttered.

"i'm not, you actually have my cheek slightly stinging!"  he said, he stared making Jayce laugh "you look nice when shocked, i mean- like, you look like how you look when we were younger." he said shrugging looking off embarrassed, viktor tilted his head "i am pushing 40, my dear companion. i'm just healthy now." he said shrugging.

"that's the best part. you look healthy, it's like- like, you've been reborn." jayce said, viktor suddenly had a weird feeling towards that work- reborn. He was in no way reborn, maybe better? maybe, less sickly? sure, he coughs here and there but, his lung are just naturally weak. He hummed a bit, he soon perked up "you know, Mel is trying to see if i am able to get the week off!" he said, he blinked "we- can do that..?" he asked confused, he laughed a bit.

"yeah, we're human after all. we need breaks, which is why i'm happy you're back in the house currently. you can finally rest" he said, Viktor looked off- fair, but i do tend to rest a bit longer than normal "i suppose, i think it's interesting how you can simply sleep through the night, i have- way too many thoughts rushing through my head. it's a major issue." he said, jayce hummed looking at him, viktor can tell as his eyes scans his face as if taking him in once again. He swears he can hear his heart, thumping softly in his chest- rumbling in his own body oddly.

He can hear the blood rushing through his veins and heart, sensing has it violently pumps through his body. His eyes widens a bit as he suddenly can hear the air leaving his body, how pretty he must look covered- "-viktor? are you alright?" he asked touching his shoulder worried, he sat up a bit "ah, my bad- i was..thinking. I wondered if i can start a newer test of the hex core" he muttered, bullshitting a story. he blinked before shrugging "sure, when we're both up and running we'll get back on the grind..!" he said

"yes, let us- get back on the grind" he said doing a thumbs up, Jayce chuckled "you tend to copy my sayings a lot, like a weird little parrot" he said teasing, Viktor rolled his eyes "i just find them fascinating, i never heard such phrases but, i like learning it" he said then humming, he sat up looking at his nails noticing the long nails and slightly dark tinted fingers, he shook his head "it's getting late, we should rest." Jayce suggested smiling, viktor looks him up and down "i think you need it more, my friend. i am not tired." he said shrugging

"you sure? maybe you should at least try-" viktor shook his head waving the idea off, he scoffed "i am fine, i merely need one thing from the store as well." he said softly patting Jayce's back, he smiled a bit "y-yeah, i guess that's fair..i've been up longer" he said then looking off "i could- maybe, if you're fine with it.. take care of you, as a thank you" viktor muttered, his eyes softened noticing the shy yet shocked look. he cleared his throat "now, go to bed. we both need to be in tip-top shape, i suppose." he grumbled rolling his eyes, but his tone was soft and kind. Jayce smiled getting up going closer.

Normally, viktor would push him away playfully but- the scent of Jayce's body near him, his heart pounding. Viktor looked up at him tilting his head a bit "are you- wanting something..?" he asked, Jayce hummed then looking at his neck "your veins- they look prominent, jesus." he muttered, he stared at him more focused on his clean cut look, he gulped noticing his own veins, a faint blue that looked delicious against his tan skin. he bit his tongue, watching the other then looked off "uh, you should uh- go sleep now, bye" jayce rambled rushing off, he blinked shocked. viktor covered his mouth looking off, taking a deep breath feeling his body relax.

viktor soon winced spitting out a hard small object, he looked at his hand seeing his bloody tooth missing; his eyes widened as he rushed to the bathroom soon noticing a now sharper canine, he stared shocked touching it making a small drop of blood come out. "oh shit.." he muttered softly. he soon spat out the other canine in shock, he looked up watching as the tooth grew in. his eyes widened, he needed to see singe and fast.

Chapter 3: i will take what i can get (and my memory will fade forever)

Summary:

Viktor has fed, he feels far different. he feels powerful, but he now has the permanent yearning for the nectar of the soul.

Chapter Text

Viktor stared at his teeth, a shocking statement for a chronically ill grown-up whose only benefit is having his teeth still in his mouth.

Viktor sighed covering his face, he soon went over to Jayce's room seeing him laying in his bed, curled up, his room was far cleaner than Viktor's cave as he called, he hummed watching his body as he moved around in his rest; he bit his lip a bit, debating if he should speak on the changes, he shook his head, he fixed Jayce's blanket and left turning off his light. He sighed and soon grabbed a coat, putting it on his body.

Quickly, he needed to discuss these changes.

His senses were tingling as he rushed out of the house. He stared around in a frantic manner, noticing every waking movement. His ears wriggled, reacting to every person. He could hear every word and movement within a mile. His sense of smell was extraordinary, he could detect so many things suddenly. The smell of the machines' gases, the dirt on the ground, the woman's high-end perfumes, and the sweet and sickly scent of meat and blood was noticeable to him.

Despite being an animal, it still holds interest. He could swear he was drooling, he hummed a bit wiping his mouth as he looked around soon slipping into the dark shadows of the under city

Singed stood at his desk injecting small rats, watching them screech and crawl around their room. "Singed, we need to speak" he said, the other man stared shocked turning to him examining his body with his eyes "Viktor, my boy, it's nice to see you walking." he said standing up, he stared putting his hand up to make him stay back "At what cost, i have my physical appearance and improved body but- i am losing my humanity" he said looking at his hands huffing a bit, he looked at him

"Please, explain. this appears to be glorious even, evolutionary" he said in awe, he stared at him taking his coat off; he hummed sitting down looking at Viktor who looked off "when i took this substance, i- i felt my body completely collapse on itself, far more than normal" he said then glancing at him "but, then- I woke up in a hospital, nothing beeped or even- the nurse said i was dead, i flatlined!" Singed stared in awe then stood up looking at him

"but, you're alive now. you're reborn- you see, what i gave you made you far more amazing. You just need to adapt," he said, he stared with furrowed brows; the scarred man turned away opening his case once again "i have discovered a few things- such as what may help you feel a lot..stronger" he said a clear smile in his tone, Viktor watched clearly confused but suddenly something caught his nose.

sweet, sickly sweet.

"taste it, you smell it- of course, you like it" he said softly, he stared wide eyed; messing with his nails "you- what are you giving me?" he asked watching him hand it to the other, viktor backed up staring at the vial "i-i doubt i should" he muttered as he huffed snarling, he covered his eyes in shock. that sound, the animalistic nature- he can't ignore it. he needs it. Viktor barely moved as he took it from the man's crisped hands, he sighed before chugging the small vial; his eyes widened as he held his throat gasping and coughing; his fangs visible as he panted growling. he stared at his hands as his claws grew, his eyes a bright red.

"That's it. deep breaths.." Singed said watching him, he drooled a bit of blood as his eyes rolled back, shivering as he gasped, panting. He fell to his knees; Viktor could feel his skin buzzing- as if adrenaline was rushing through it, the feeling was intoxicating. Greater than any drink, better than shimmer combined; singed looked at him smiling as a dazed smile appeared on his lip, he put his head back soon looking towards him with blown pupils.

"there it is, doesn't that feel good..?" he said softly tilting his head, viktor slightly tilted his head along with him "i believe I've reached peek enlightenment.." he whispered, the burned man chuckled holding another vial "i might fund this- craving" he teased, viktor stared at his hands, before the other could react as if merely teleporting the drugged male held the vial sitting on the table- singed stared appalled, he stammered as viktor examined it "i must ask, who is your source..? It's possible to identify that taste, but I'd rather talk to the seller than the producer."

Viktor remained motionless, his eyes wide but expressionless. 'I have never been violent, but a paywall cannot conceal such a delicious substance. Now, speak before I tear that burnt flesh off," he said clawing at the desk, he went silent "you couldn't. I am the only one who has the answers and knows what you are.

Viktor glanced, noticing that his stomach or mind was constantly repeating the idea of tearing him apart to test the blood's identity, but logic took over quickly for the man. He emits a slight purr.

Viktor stared tilting his head, he smiled a bit "you're heart rate- are you afraid?" he taunted soon walking towards him, he tilted his head "you shouldn't be. i won't hurt you, i merely wanna learn your source." he asked with a croon, Singed grabbed his dagger; Viktor stared focused, his gaze unwilling to break. "Don't" he commanded. Singed gasped as he froze, his dagger falling as he staggered a bit

"Wow, you're mind is rushing huh? completely lost in ideas of how to kill me. my god, quite violent for a man who helped a sickly young man such as myself" he muttered shrugging, looking off setting his hands in his pocket

"You're just having a rush, you wlil regret this. Believe me" he said staring, viktor stepped down from the table he was sat on; he hummed to himself walking closer "do you understand how liberating it is- to finally not be a prisioner of pain? but free? being human like everyone else? not a vehicle of agony!" he said going clser making the man back up, he stared at him scoffing then giving a sarcastic smirk." not even worth my energy." he whispered, he smiled biting his lip "you'd be shocked how long i've craved saying that" he said then sliding past him.

Singed gasp as if released from a tight grasp, Viktor looked towards him "have a good night, i will be visting soon again" he said then fading into the shadows, singed panted watching as the formerly ill man melt into the void, he winced looking at the vials "i fear i have created a new monster.." he whispered

A monster, a blood sucking, flesh yearning monster.

Chapter Text

"Viktor? Are you alright?"

Viktor sat at his table, typing and examining the hex core floating on his desk, ignoring the man. He huffed, concentrated on his job; Jayce cautiously crept in, causing the man to aim his dagger at him. "Not now, Jayce. I am extremely focused," he threatened, and Jayce gulped. "I think you need to rest; you basically threatened me." He answered hesitantly, putting down the dagger.

"I dread the day you regret giving me this for protection," he joked, still focused on the runes. Huh, the orb reacted oddly to him; it pulled towards his body, slightly flickering, making the veins in his hands glow a dark color. Jayce was more concerned because it appeared that his blood was entirely black against his pale skin.

"Please take some rest-" Viktor threw both palms on the table's surface, causing the core to flicker more strongly and crackle. "Do you mind?" I have been experimenting with tiny modifications to the rune letters to see whether the charge will genuinely draw through the body." Jayce blinked.

"V, maybe you have done too much research—I thought we were spending a nice day together!" Jayce spoke quietly while Viktor looked at him with disdain. It was odd and unsettling to see him become so upset. irritated? peeved?

"Viktor, you are being hysterical. You're worrying me." Jayce protested as he gazed over at him. Viktor exhaled and switched off the core, pushing at the center of his temples, and grumbled, "Jayce, my beloved buddy and partner. I am afraid I may have to yell at you; I had finally found inspiration and motivation, and!-" jayce observed watching viktor take a breath with a pause

"It's completely gone." He said it directly, evidently displeased, and Jayce withdrew within himself, humiliated, like a puppy with a muzzle. Ironic, isn't it, to be so sad by Viktor pushing him away a bit but himself, doing the same a bit ago when he was first getting recognized—it was the stress of it all, but he still feels bad.

Vi took a sip of her large beer mug, and she wiped her mouth. "Oh yeah, he's hiding something, and it's really messing with him." she said, pointing, spilling some onto the table, He looked at his plain cocktail and hummed—God, Caitlyn was right. I do drink like an old lady. "But why would viktor hide something from me? we tell each other everything!" he said, shocked, Vi raised a brow "Have you told him that you secretly adore him and that you can only imagine what it would be like if he shared your last name?" she said. Red in the face, he blinked before turning to face her.

"You need to stay away from Caitlyn; she's given you too much information." He grumbled, sipping his drink. She shrugged and grinned, saying, "I see how you two are; it does not take a rocket scientist to see how much you both adore each other. Plus, her friend drama is mine. We are dating," she explained

Jayce blinked, looking at the cherry in his drink. "I think it's a normal amount of...adoration; I adore Mel too!" He explained, slightly rambling and looking off; she rolled her eyes, putting her head back and groaning. "You are not unique; everyone loves Mel," she remarked, flicking his forehead. "Love and adoration are very different, Hammer Boy. You are in love with that guy! You spend every waking hour worrying about him and his health! Yeah, that's nice, but you also learned to cook his childhood meal even though you don't know anything about his culture!" She scoffered as she listed things off with her fingers, saying, "You found the best damn doctor in Piltover to help him!"

"Because he has bad luck with doctors, I wanted him to feel safe."

"Okay, you win," sighed Vi, who gave Jayce a deapan look as he muttered. "I am in love with viktor. but he's not into anything love-related. I think he's completely worksexual. Nothing phases him by the joy of science." VI hummed, taking another sip, then sighed in relief. "Finally, you're constant denial while violently pinning pissed me off," she teased, elbowing him; his gaze was soft; clearly, how viktor was acting really worried him. Vi set her beer mug down with a sigh. "I get it; having feelings while the person is somewhat self-destructive is hard. I mean, look at me and Cait—she will do anything to get better and succeed, and well, it was hard for her. But viktor is far different—he knows he's self-destructive and uses it to aid his work, which is somewhat worrying for a normal person." she explained

"But viktor is also aware of his own limits. He will push it, but only when you are there to catch him. He knows he can trust you—Viktor may or may not like you romantically, whatever! However, he does truly value you, and that is all that matters," she said. Jayce hummed, nodding slightly, and turning away; she had a point.

"I suppose you are correct, heh—you are smarter when tipsy."

"Asshole, I am always smart." She grumbled, glaring at him. With a sigh, he sipped his beverage and gazed at the cup. "You know—weirdly, he has been... cold to the touch. even having this odd aura..?" he muttered, looking at her. She hummed, staring confused. "Like, he's different? maybe you aren't used to him being healthy," she taunted. He furrowed his brows

"Viktor threatened me with a dagger; he moved so quickly that I believed I was delirious. He didn't even regard me." He said, her eyes widened, sitting up, scooting her stool closer. "you were threatened by Viktor? its shocking that he even threatened someone, but you especially," she said, making him grunt and wiping his face. "I know, that's why I'm tense. Maybe I did something wrong, or he doesn't like being around me anymore?" he asked

After processing the information with a blink, Vi hummed, "You think something shifted in him after, y'know, the accident?" When she asked, he covered his face, sighed, and shrugged. "Is it possible? I suppose something was affected in his frontal cortex as a result of the fall and near-death experience," he muttered, rubbing his light five o'clock shadow. She nodded, feigning understanding after staring and processing.

"Suure," she muttered, then watched as he messed with his sleeves. "I don't want to assume something so fast, but god, it's frightening seeing him change so suddenly. I mean, viktor is caring and gentle," he said, worried. "He told me that I was a traitor to Zaun. So yeah, real pleasant," she rolled her eyes, huffing. "You just did what you felt was correct; but I think V will never stop hating enforcers though." He mumbled, rubbing his neck; Vi blinked, nodding. "I understand; it's hard. I thought joining would help add some humanity," she muttered, shrugging. "Sadly, he doubts it. Sometimes Mel has moments where she will—I'd say have prejudice towards Zaunites, and viktor will just.. he looks so uncomfortable." He muttered, and Vi sighed, looking down. "I mean, he has some attachments left in there," she muttered, taking another sip "I still have it; they murdered my parents," she mumbled, looking off.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I get what it's like to lose a parent, but to lose both must be difficult."

"Yeah, it was. But, enough sappy shit! Let's talk about you and your gay feelings, big guy!"

Chapter 5: who put the words in your head

Summary:

Viktor calms down and feels drained. he needs to recuperate, but his mind is focused on something else.

Chapter Text

Viktor lifts his head from his desk; when did he pass out? He looked around confused, the hex core still flickering with small bits of blood there. He instantly checked his body for any cuts, not sensing any pain. He leaned back and hummed, bewildered. He huffed, wiping his face.

"God, I may genuinely be a druggie," he grumbled, looking at his hands and staring at the claws. He sat up, forcing his heavy body to stand. He sighed a bit. Moving to the kitchen, he soon opened the fridge, grabbing a closed jar with a note

"Dear V, I thought you would like this!

It's strawberry lemonade! made some as a gift for another director but saved it for you! I know how you like sweet stuff, so I added a bit more sugar. Sorry for leaving dishes; I was in a rush, but it is my day anyway."

Victor blinked and then chuckled dryly. Cute, he added a little more sweetness—just for me. Soon after, he opened it and sniffed; strangely, the sweet scent was actually rushing through his nose. With a slight wince, he took a sip and said, "Nope. still can't enjoy it," sounding disappointed. He sighed, staring into the cup, then shrugged, soon chugging the drink, then hissing in disgust.

"Ugh, the shit I do to not make this guy feel bad," he grumbled, putting it in the sink before suddenly pausing. The blade Jayce used caught his attention as he sniffed the air. He tilted his head, confused, moving closer, soon noticing the dark red color.

He cut his finger, huh. Viktor slowly moved his finger over the blade. It would not hurt to just—taste, would it? He thought to himself before licking the blade. His eyes widened as he set the blade down.

oh.

oh dear.

That's way better than the stupid vial.

Viktor covered his mouth, processing the fact he just tasted his own friend's blood; he let out a shaky sigh. The fact that he could taste the joy was strange but wonderful, and he detested the fact that he craved more of him. He pushed his hair back.

he leaned against the fridge "Focus, viktor, you need to forget. You need to erase this from your mind. Forget the taste of your partner, no matter how absolutely delectable he may be," he muttered, then taking a deep breath, he jumped, hearing a knock. Who would come here? Who even knows I'm home?

Viktor soon went over to the door; he opened it, being greeted by a hooded Mel. He stared shocked, then cleared his throat. "Uh, Mel, you are here. at my door, alone. What did I do?" He immediately questioned, raising a brow, worried. She chuckled, looking down. "Fair—I don't tend to visit you both much, but I wanted to see how you are doing." she said, and he nodded, moving to the side, letting her enter. He fixed his hair "Sorry about the mess; we've been kind of lazy since I got out of the hospital." He confessed ashamed; she looked at him smiling.

"No need to be ashamed; you both are busy men, and it's common for both of you. I've seen far worse," she said, patting his shoulder. He blinked, then smiled a bit. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense—kinda wish I had a warning though, Counciluar," he commented, gestering her to the couch, she nods sitting down. "I was interested in your state, Viktor. You're very smart, a very advanced man for your situation," she said. He blinked. There goes the Zaunite hate; maybe today is more ableist—she could be venturing out to new hateful fields. He hummed, looking down. "Yes, I suppose."

Mel stared, picking up on the tone, and quickly realized, "Not like that! i uh, i mean like-" She frantically tried explaining; he put his hand up, making her go quiet. "No worries, I don't take offense. You tend to do it, but it's only because of how you were taught," he said. She hummed, looking down a bit. God, no wonder Jayce likes her so much. They are both carbon copies.

"No, it's not alright—I should properly address you. You're clever and talented as the rest of us." She muttered a bit, and he hummed, raising his brows a bit, looking off. rest of us? topsiders or..?

She looked at him, then around the house, looking for a way to change the topic. "Uh, have you for-" Viktor quickly cut her off. "I have found new ways to use the hex core; I have altered it to create a less unstable creation." She blinked, caught off guard. He smiled a bit. "Maybe it could be edible. I think it could mix into common remedies, making a better creation to heal," he said. She stared confused, then tilted her head.

"We do not need any more remedies; we need more force, especially since there is an issue with something slaughtering enforcers," she said, sighing. Viktor froze looking at him; he looked over confused. "what are you speaking of?" he muttered, bewildered. Mel hummed, looking at him; he soon walked over. "There has been some creature we believe that has killed enforcers. Blood drained and throats torn out," she said. He hummed a bit, looking off, trying to hide the worry on his face

Did I kill people? When did I do that?! What time did I have? oh god

Mel looked at him and asked, "Are you alright? You seem surprising affected." She mutted, he looked at her confused, and he smiled a bit awkwardly—think, think. "It's more worry for the enforcers I know well; the rest is—ehh," he muttered, shrugging and looking off. Her brows furrowed looking at him. "Look, v. i understan-"

"Don't call me V; it's Viktor. Just Viktor," he said, looking at her. She shivered a bit as their eyes met; he blinked, groaning a bit, holding his head. "Sorry. I haven't slept in a while. I-i uh, I fear I may need to rest again," he muttered, doing a half-assed bow due to the dizzying feeling. Mel looked at him as if examining him; she held his hand "no, i understand. V is what Jayce calls you; maybe we should create our own. I want to know you, Viktor; I truly do," she said. He looked at her, humming a bit as his gaze locked onto her hands. So warm compared to mine, i guess since i'm somewhat dead it doesn't matter

"I wouldn't mind. I don't have any issue with you, Mel. I hope you know this—I just, no offense—think you do have some prejudice towards me due to me being from Zaun." he explained that she stared, sighing a bit and looking off "Well, I will say—at first, when you came and Jayce stared with this with you, I had some opinions on you," she explained, looking down. He scoffed looking at her

"some? You barely included me in conversations. You talked to me like I was nothing but—ah, the—outside ground stuff," he muttered a bit, pointing to the ground. She blinked, "D-dirt?" He snapped his fingers, pointing at her. "Yes, dirt. I understand you are trying, but uh, I fear you still treat me as if I am just a diversity hire. I mean, i'm disabled, not useless," he said, scoffing

Mel hummed a bit; she looked him up and down. "You're right. I apologize; I will try hard to build a better relationship. but I came here for another reason as well." She said, looking deep into his eyes. He stared confused; he gestured for her to sit; she nodded as both sat on the couch. Her gaze is heavy as she messes with her fingers. "There was- a witness," she muttered.

a witness? Someone saw me do such things? Oh dear god, I'm done for.

"She said this creature had a look; it was humanoid in nature but looked as if one with the dark." he looked at her worried"She gave a sketch to the enforcers," she said, going into her pocket and sighing. She showed a paper. Barely looked like me, thank God. "I wanted to inform my closest colleagues; it seems to be attacking those of high status." He stared then looked off, deeply worried; if so, then likely most of the council is in danger.

"Uh-oh god, that's terrifying," he said, his voice subsiding. "I'm sorry, I hope you—I don't want to stress you out." She mumbled, and he gulped a bit. "Oh, I'm fine. I just—I may need time to process this. It is quite worrying news. I hope everyone stays safe, especially yourself. You are very important," he said. She smiled a bit, then nodding and stood up "I understand. Thank you for the worry; keep resting," she said, patting his shoulder as she lifted her hood and left. He closed the door, locking then covering his face, groaning, "I should likely start investigating myself."

"Ah, I see you've returned. Has the high ended completely?"

Viktor huffed, looking off, He put his cane down; he felt it was right to keep it near, just in case someone gets suspicious of his sudden recovery. "Uh, I heard about an attack. Something attacked a few enforcers; I fear it may of been me," he muttered. Singed raised a brow looking at him; he looked him up and down. "You believe it may of been you? You aren't sure?" the man asked. viktor hesitantly nodded, looking down. "How odd, you aren't even aware of your attacks. I believe we may need to properly test this," the older man commented. Viktor stared with furrowed brows backing up a bit. "I am in no way letting you experiment on me," he said. The man scoffed. "Ah, that's where your wrong. It is no way 'experimentation;' it is merely testing, that's it," he corrected.

Viktor snarled in response, staring at him. "I'm the first person you've given this to, huh? All of this is nothing but some twisted test run," he said, staring at him, singed froze staring at him, his eyes a bright golden color mimicking his personal eye color. "tell me. Am I the first?" Viktor asked with a cold tone, and Singed shook his head hesitantly as he gulped weakly. "No, I've tested it on another person; he lost it because he was too absorbed by the instincts. So I tried again, and you were the one to test it—you seem fine; the reaction was a bit much but still perfect," he spat out weakly, as if the words were being pulled from his lips.

"You were testing it on those vulnerable enough to believe you, and what happened to that man?" he asked, singed stood there gripping the desk tightly as he was being held in the grasp of the control of the younger man, he tilted his head walking around the desk "h-he's dead. he was killed when the sun rised onto him while in that beast form." he confessed, he froze looking at him "look at me." he commanded making singed turn to face the other who was on the oppisite side of the desk "what will happen to me at sunrise..?" he muttered, singed gulped looking down "i-i don't know, you are the first for this new dose." he confessed, he stared worried

"you upset me, greatly. you used to be a smart man, a well known scientist with great understandings. " he said bluntly, he scoffed a bit- Singed gasped as he held his throat coughing, whimpering a bit "hand over your dosages, this ends now." he said, singed stared shocked "give th- viktor, that is impossible. this is a groundbreaking-" viktor stared lifted a photo, looking at it humming " do you remember what you told me when i found rio near death..?" he asked then sittingt on the desk.

singed stared with wide eyes, viktor hummed a bit  "The mutation must survive..? i truly understand now. i knew i told you that months, maybe years ago- but now, i get it." he said standing up, picking up the case. Singed gripped the edge of his desk, soon glancing at a dagger "i thought you'd understand as well, progress has no end, just a breaking point. and sadly, this is yours." he said turning to leave grabbing the cane, Singed soon rushed at him with the dagger.

Viktors eyes flashed a purple color as he dodged leaning to the side using the cane to trip him, then picking up the dagger sighing "you forget yourself, i am on your creation. it flows through me, even when rotten. Focus on bigger things, like your daughter. She's waiting on you." he said stabbing the wall as he left. singed panted looking at him as he walked, looking both ways then heading off.

"you are a new version of that beast."

Chapter Text

"Deep breaths, I'm not going to hurt you."

Jayce stared wide-eyed, backing up and stumbling over the bodies of the fallen enforcers. Viktor tilted his head. "Dont run. You'll fall and hurt yourself—and we can't have that," he said, looking up at him with glowing eyes. Jayce soon frantically grabbed the wall, soon trying to turn on the light. "Don't turn on the light, please," he softly begged. Jayce panted and shook his head. "I—what are you?" he asked weakly.

viktor hummed soon, appearing in front of him. "I don't want to hurt you. I never want to hurt you," he said. Jayce stumbled, falling, staring at him, panting. "W-what are you, Viktor?" He said, getting a bit louder. He hummed a bit, walking out, showing his blood-covered mouth. He tilted his head. "I am reborn, the same yet stronger," he answered, then bending down, making Jayce gasp shakily in fear. "I won't hurt you, at least not on purpose," he repeated. Jayce stared deep into his eyes; his lips quivered as if trying to speak, viktor's golden eyes stared deep into his soul

"I'm scared," he muttered weakly, finally spitting out words as if pulled from his throat. viktor crawled onto his lap, making Jayce freeze; he gulped. "Don't run; this was all wanted," he softly whispered, tracing Jayce's throat. His veins appeared almost transparent to him; the other closed his eyes in fear as Viktor bit into his neck. He grunted, grabbing the pale man's arms, trying to pull him away but soon gasped as his eyes rolled back weakly.

Viktor felt his senses rushing all this time. It did not matter how many hours he spent trying to reason with his urges; he finally had the sweetest substance he could possibly desire. He couldn't stop, his claws deep into the other's shoulders. "V-viktor, I can't—it hurts," he begged weakly.

The other ignores him, his eyes shut tight as he hugs Jayce as he feeds hungerily on him. Jayce winces, trying to hit him until his hands go limp. Viktor gasped, pulling off panting; he stared at the ceiling, completely lost in the sensation of the other's blood. "I knew you were far more special than your mind.." he whispered. He holds Jayce's face, feeling the coldness. He hums, leaning close. "oh, Jayce, why are you being so quiet now?" he said, smiling as the blood drips onto the others face

Viktor gasped, bursting up and holding his chest as he soon looked around—I've must of fallen asleep while checking out the workings of this substance. viktor groaned; he wiped his face. "God, what is wrong with me?" he muttered, then stood up, leaving the room, sighting, "Oh, V—your awake, great! Once you're awake and alert, I want to run some equations by you. It's crazy; it's like the inspiration bug bit me!" he said, standing in front of the board in merely his sleepwear pants.

"Where-where is your shirt?" he muttered bluntly, examining him. Jayce blinked and chuckled, "You are wearing it. You fell asleep at your desk in merely shorts, so I thought giving you my clothes helped you not get too cold," he said, rubbing his neck. He looked at himself and noticed the oversized sleepwear on his body, which had the talis emblem on the chest and a small golden flower thread embroidered into it.

He blinks before clearing his throat. "Uh, thank you. I suppose—did you eat?" he asked, tilting his head and then making his way to the kitchen. "hm? Uh-no, I think I've accidentally pavlov'd myself into only eating when we're together." He said, chuckling as he walked over to him. Viktor hummed in response as he checked the fridge, soon pausing to see a random slab of meat.

"oh! That's for dinner; thought it'd be nice to have a nice celebration since we're both feeling better—good idea, huh?" he said. Viktor looked at him, raising a brow, but groaned—too bright, my eyes burn. Viktor stood taking out eggs, then putting them back. "I'm feeling adventurous today—let's go out for breakfast," he said. Jayce blinked in shock; he hummed, raising a brow. "What is that look? Your being odd, Jayce," he said.

"Ah, nothing—I think its nice that you were happy to see you try new things—plus, you hate eating out." He said, shrugging. He hummed, rolling his eyes. "I'm having a lazy day. Sue me," he said, scoffing. Jayce put his hands up in defense, smiling, showing the slight gap in his teeth and his dimples. God, I want to tear him apart. Wow, that was oddly aggressive. Jayce stretched, humming a bit. "What are we feeling?" he said. He hummed, thinking and looking off.

"What do you want, Jayce? You can choose it." He said, shrugging, and the other perked up like a dog hearing it's favorite word: "I get to choose? really?" he said excitedly. He chuckled a bit, rolling his eyes. "Yes, I will allow it this," he said, waving his hand dismissively. "Let's head to Xavier's!" he said. Viktor normally would wince hearing about greasy, heavy food, but that was only due to his body rejecting it due to his illnesses. Well, now he was okay. somewhat okay.

"Sure, I'll humor you this once." He muttered, shrugging, "Great, let's go get dressed!" he said excitedly, he hummed

Jayce watched as Viktor stared at the grill. Viktor is known to hate anything greasy and heavy; he stared at him, noticing the other watching the meat sizzle in front of them; he swore that he could see the other drooling. Viktor hates heavy foods; he hates fatty foods, but currently the other is completely locked onto the raw meat. Why the raw meat? "I never thought I'd see you here, fancy pants," a voice greeted the two. Both gazed over, seeing VI and Caitlyn walking in; he blinked shock "Oh, you're kidding! What are you guys doing here?" Jayce asked and smiled a bit. j

"We were having breakfast issues; we both couldn't choose, so here we are!" Vi shrugged, he hummed slightly, and the other nodded slightly. "Well, we were having a lazy day, hey! You should join us!" He said, perking up. Viktor looked at him about to object but merely huffed, looking at the food again. They nodded, sitting with them. Viktor hummed, tilting his head; he had that look when he was examining or thinking something out. Before he could ask, the man grabbed the meat from the grill, making Jayce instantly panic, grabbing his arm. The girls stared shocked. "It's nothing; I was merely helping. it was burning, see?" he muttered calmly, pointing at it

HOW IS HE SO CALM? YOU JUST TOUCHED PURE FIRE?

"Is that normal for him?" Caitlyn asked softly, toward Jayce, who stared shocked. "No—uh, he doesn't usually touch hot grills," he muttered. "I've burned all the feeling in my non-dominate hand, so no issue." Viktor explained flipping it again. Jayce whimpered, then covered his mouth. "Science takes sacrifices, dear friend, and mine was my sense of touch," he muttered, shrugging, messing with his fingers. This was so weird; viktor had never acted this way before. It was like something had changed deep within him. "That's pretty intense, Viktor," Caitlyn muttered, watching him.

"I suppose, shouldn't we start eating? It is getting late, no? We are all busy people," he said, gesturing to the food. Soon the group would get into the food, but I couldn't stop glancing at Victor. Something about seeing him eat such greasy food felt off? weird? abnormal? whatever the word is. It wasn't like him. He was devouring it, his teeth tearing the meat as if it were nothing. "You got some pretty strong canines there, Viktor," he commented, which made viktor pause. He looked at him chewing a bit, then covering his mouth as he cleared his throat.

viktor cleared his throat, sighing, "Yes, I suppose so. I, uh, I tend to eat tough food—well, sorta," he muttered, looking down, poking the food slightly. Jayce hummed, looking him up and down; his nails are so sharp now—maybe he hasn't clipped his fingers due to working. Nah, viktor is a clean guy. Vi looked at viktor "Hey, heard a guy got mauled around where you guys live; see anything?" she asked, chewing a bit, and Caitlyn soon wiped the grease from the other's cheek.

"I mean, you were home by then—what did you hear or see?" Vi asked, viktor blinking, raising a brow "Are you interrogating me?" he asked, turning to look at her. Jayce sat up, looking at them anxiously, his eyes focused on them; viktor hummed, thinking, "I believe I was asleep by then; when I'm out, nothing will awaken me. It's quite a stressful thing for Jayce," he said. Jayce nodded, scoffing out a laugh "It's like he dies every time he naps, but that's fine because at least he'll be asleep," he said, smiling. Vi hummed, looking at viktor then Jayce, and Caitlyn held her hand. "don't be like that, Vi—they're busy guys; doubt either of them have time to even pay attention outside or even talk to each other," she teased, smiling and laughing a bit

Jayce rolled his eyes, scoffing. "So funny. Ha ha," he said, then eating more. Viktor sat there eating more. "I fear I might be in danger. I mean, I'm a small, weak guy," he teased, smiling a bit. jayce elbowed him; he rolled his eyes "Oh, my fraile little bones," he said dramatically. Vi looked between them; she whispered into the other ear. "You're an asshole, V," he said. The two stared at them; viktor kept eating a bit while huffing. The brunch was quite nice; they enjoyed themselves equally, and viktor actually spoke up! he didn't sit there and stare, giving glances and begging to leave

Great job, V!

"What's your next project?" he asked as they walked in, putting his coats down on the hanger at the door; he went over to a case, with unnatural speed, looking at him, "These are personal matters, I fear. Nothing against our partnership, but... ", he said softly, looking at the case. Jayce hummed, nodding, staring at the case, noticing an ingravement making his brows furrow. odd. That's no crest I recognize. Viktor hummed a bit; he soon picked it up, taking it back to his room. He watched him tilting his head; he huffed a bit. "Damn, alright," he whispered to himself, looking down at his fingers.

"hey, V?" Jayce asked, Viktor looked at him soon walking back over "has your nails always been so- well, claw like?" he asked innocently, viktor looked at his hands then let out a short gasp before collecting himself "no, i uh- i didn't. and neither did you" he said staring deep into his eyes. Jayce blinked dazed soon shaking his head "uh, sorry- was i.. saying something..?" he muttered confused staring at him, viktor looked shocked then shaking his head "no, you uh- said you were tired from eating so much though. should go rest, no?" he asked, he nodded a bit looking off "yeah, i..i should go sleep, night viktor" he said patting his back walking off. Viktor let out a shock winced covering his mouth.

"you alright?"

Ow.

Bzzt

Ow.

Every time he even attempts to examine the mad scientist's creation, it fights back. Annoying, but predictable. Viktor put his goggles back, huffing, "God, you aren't making this easy." He grumbled, looking at the substance. He leaned back, crossing his arms. "What will give me a bit of a reaction?" He grumbled, thinking out loud; he soon perked up. Blood. It craves blood. Viktor soon rushed out the door. Jayce looked at him confused. "You alright..?" He asked, watching him; he froze.

He looked at him "I, uh, yes? I am fine." He muttered softly, He cleared his throat, going towards him. "Could I ask you for something weird?" He asked confused, Jayce stared intrigued, and Viktor walked over, messing with his fingers. "could i perhaps- get a drop of your blood?" he asked, smiling awkwardly; he chuckled a bit, then staring shocked "Oh, your serious," he muttered; viktor went on his knees holding his thigh; he swears Jayce goes red in the face. "Please, for science? I've given mine, but I do want to see how your blood would react," he said, shrugging. The other took a deep breath, looking off. "Yeah, yeah, I'll do it. Just please—don't look at me like that," he grumbled

"Fine, but thank you for entertaining my stupid test," he said, smiling a bit as he stood up; the other watched with a slight smile as if enchanted—did I accidentally influence him? Jayce soon cleared his throat; he looked off "I, uh, I'll go do that," he muttered, then getting up. Viktor watched him staring in somewhat shock; he scoffed a bit, shrugging a bit, standing up and following him.

"I-i, uh, could you use these vials? please?" Viktor asked, gesturing the vials to the other; he stared shocked. "V, that's a lot of blood. maybe one but that's it," he said, viktor rolled his eyes "Ugh, fine—I guess you are right, only one." he muttered, shrugging; the other sighed, pleased, looking at his hands

"Could you mind doing it? I fear I might, you know, mess up," he said, smiling slightly. His little fang is quite nice; I never noticed it. Viktor hummed and gestured for him to sit. "Sit, I know you are a big baby," he said, smirking. Jayce rolled his eyes soon, sitting down. He took a deep breath, then looking in a drawer, he turned to him. "Before we start, just know—it's in the name of science and discovery," he said, Jayce raised a brow, then stared in shock, seeing the other open a golden switchblade "Where—who gave you that...?" he asked. Viktor blinked, then looked at him, smiling a bit. "Ah, it was a gift from mel. She said, I deserve to have a weapon as well, nice, no?"

Jayce stared between the switchblade and the other; he gulped a bit, giving a weak smile. "Don't be afraid; I will be gentle. Well, as gentle a knife can be," viktor said, going towards him, humming a bit. He took his hand, going onto his knees. "You're hands are so- thin compared to..." Jayce whispered with a slight chuckle, and Viktor looked up to him. "You are a 6ft man who works out; I would be worried if we were the same size," Viktor teased, smiling. Viktor hummed, tracing his hand and taking a deep breath.

Good, how could I not tear into his wrist? His veins look so gorgeous, he can't help but imagine what the other's blood tastes like. Jayce looked at him, patting his shoulder with his free hand. He perked up, clearing his throat. "Sorry, I was thinking how to do this in a way that won't hurt you too bad. But I fear I may do it on purpose," he teased. Jayce scoffed playfully, hitting him. Wow, that kind of hurt. "Let's just handle this, deep breath," he said softly. Jayce watched viktor as he set the switchblade onto his skin; the other was focused on the taller man's skin. "After four, okay—one, two.." Jayce was about to say something but immediately gasped in pain. "i lied. There was no four," he teased, smiling a bit.

Viktor watched as the blood seeped out. Jayce stared teary-eyed. "Jesus, you are evil," he muttered, chuckling weakly. Jayce watched as viktor held his hand under his hand, holding the vial near the gash. jayce gulped a bit, his face flustered as viktor subconsciously rubbed his thumb against his hand "Simple, no?" he said, looking up to Jayce. "h-huh? Oh, uh, yeah, it was." He said shyly, messing with his hair with his free hand. Viktor hummed a bit "hold still" he commanded grabbing the other tightly, he jumped shocked ""jeez, you got a crazy grip."

Viktor chuckled a bit pushing his hand against the vial, he stared at viktor with completely adoration. "May I say, you're doing quite well with this- then again, pain is suggestive for us huh?" He teased, jayce hummed in response then hissing "ah, I spoke too soon. My apologies.." Viktor said softly looking up at him. Viktor's hair strand rested on his face, his eyes despite being slightly sunken were surprisingly full of stars- jayce was enamoured by him, almost dazed by his gaze

"Don't apologize, v- it's part of the process" he said watching as he squeezed his hand to make more come out, viktor soon stared at his palm closing the vial. "All done, thanks for uh- baring with this odd request" jayce merely shrugged smiling, Viktor stared- his mind spinning from the smell alone. "V?" He asked sounding a bit worried, he looked at him before standing up "I'll help you clean up-" jayce touched his shoulder, making him look at him confused

"You seem a bit tired, rest. 'i'll handle it" jayce reassured, that's what he was best at. Viktor stared at his hand "you can't tend to that alone, I don't mind." Jayce waved him off, viktor's brows furrowed "let me help you." He said, he stared soon blinking rubbing his eyes, viktor slightly tilted his head "uh- yeah, maybe you should. I'm a bit disorientated I guess" he said rubbing his neck chuckling a bit. Viktor stared before looking off a bit, this could work to his advantage.

"Yeah, come to the kitchen- I don't want you bleed on our couch"

Viktor soon made him way though the streets, he watched as people went past trying to get home before dark. Guess i really caused a fright for them, he looked up seeing the enforcers directing people "I need to get to the lab, it's important business." He said, the man scoffed "the area's blocked, so run along- ain't safe especially for a smart guy" he teased, viktor hummed looking at the man "let me pass." He practically scowled, the enforcer's eyes glossed over, he moved to the side allowing him by. Oh if only I had this ability years ago, he thought.

"Ah, viktor! You return. How was your rest?" The young woman at the desk asked, he took of his coat shrugging "quite well, did you enjoy signing out at a normal time?" He teased, she softly scoffed "it was nice to finally rest like a human, but  all good things comes to a end" she said chuckling a bit, Viktor head up the stairs; the woman sat up "wait- you're walking!" She yelled out.

Viktor sighed setting down his stuff, he soon grabbed his chair sitting "good to be somewhat back." He muttered looking at the container- the scent of the others blood called to him, he sighed weakly soon completely corrupted by the smell, he opened the vial taking a sip; he shut his eyes tightly before suddenly gasping.

Oh..

Oh.

That's intoxicating.

Viktor soon completely chugged it, he sighed wiping the strain dripping down his lip; Licking it from his thumb. Viktor never understood addicts until this moment, he felt warm as if the sun was beating on his skin, he felt his heart racing which was odd- he thought it had stopped completely. Then a thought came across his mind, why did is blood affect him differently ?was he influenced by the blood due to knowing the person?

All these questions yet no answers, unless he fed more on some people. No, he couldn't- these were people, he couldn't live with the thought that he hurt people for his own gain. God, what the hell should he do?

Out of instinct Viktor turned around soon greeted by Mel who jumped "oh- how did you know I was coming by?" She said raising her brows, he shrugged hiding the drunken vial looking off "I suppose I have that sense" he muttered a bit, shrugging making her chuckle as she walked over "what are you working on?" She questioned touching her shoulder, he slightly hummed as a slight shock went through him- hm, jayce's blood must also reflect his feelings but why am I so warm all over yet subtly there?"It's a substance I found when traveling in the under city, I was interested in seeing a old friend" he said, she stared tilting her head "where would you find this? Are you personally buying it?" She questioned, he looked at her raising a brow.

"Am I under investigation, detective Mel?" He teased making her chuckle, she pat his shoulder "no, I was worried. I heard of the shimmer epidemic down there, was merely wondering" she said he stared at her, maybe I could try something "do you think I would buy such things?" He asked, a gleam going over his eyes; she stared then smiled "no, I don't." She said, he soon blinked feeling his nose bleed. He touched his nose covering it "ahh, sorry- I haven't had one in a while" he said, she immediately grabbed tissues

"Thank you, I apologize once again- did not expect such a thing especially without a warning.." he muttered looking down at the blood on the desk, the substance pulled towards him; he blinked shocked "is..it moving towards your blood?" She muttered, he stared equally as perplexed. It still reacts to my own blood? Meaning, I could feed on myself instead. "Seems so.." he muttered soon putting the substance into another container closing it then grabbing a needle from a drawer "viktor, what are you plan-" without warning he injected himself, hissing a bit with fangs. She immediately stared shocked but hid her expression

"Are you ok?" He hummed nodding, he watched as the substance swayed in its container- he tilted his head as Mel checked the drawers "its merely a scratch, don't worry" he said he poked into the container. "Nonsense. You are bleeding and I rather have both of my scientist in one piece" she said grabbing his hand before staring "It's gone..?" She muttered confused , he blinked glancing over- oh yeah, I heal fast now, oh no I heal fast now

"Look at the way it moves, as if- absorbing it. Fascinating.." she stared at him, leaning over "what is this called? The substance- of course." She asked, he blinked then hummed in response sitting up "elixir of life. Merely that" he bluntly stated as he adjusted his clothing a bit. "Why do they call it that?" She asked sitting against the desk, he looked at her shrugging as he spoke "makes the person more alive I suppose, it certainly made some people perk up" he muttered softly, she stared tilting her head to look him in the eyes "are you one of those people?" She asked, he went quiet then sighing a bit

"Viktor, if that's how it reacts to your blood- god knows what it's doing inside of you" she said clearly worried, he sighed rubbing the templates of his forehead "I was looking for something-" she scoffed out a chuckle "was that 'something' illegal substances?"

"No, I wanted to visit a former mentor. He- this was a work of his, I thought it was merely some pain relief but.." he muttered sucking through his teeth "clearly there was more than I expected, such as a lack of heart beat" he continued, her eyes widened soon hesitantly touching his chest listening for the heartbeat, he stared slightly flustered at the touch. Oh, that's closer than most have been.

"are you - how are you alive?" she muttered, he chuckled weakly looking off "i suppose, i'm not" he muttered shrugging looking down at the container, he hummed a bit looking at it "what else has it done to you..?" she questioned sitting down looking at him closely examining him, he hummed looking at her "not much, i still appear the same merely more awake and alive- ah, i also drink blood." he said bluntly looking at her. She stared shocked, covering her mouth "i also will just- i uh, i crave a lot of meat? odd, i know" he explained then grabbing his bag, taking out the book out.

"may i say- this is insane, i am in awe of such things" he muttered shocked, he sighed a bit "ehh..i would be as well. i-i can't explain how but- i don't exactly upset?" he muttered shrugging, he sighed- he covered his face huffing, he looked at the contents "it's nice to know that i won't- well, up and die suddenly." he muttered, she hummed touching his shoulder "is Jayce aware of this?" he immedietly sat up shaking his head "i didn't, i couldn't- he wouldn't understand" he muttered.

"you're afraid, your scared that he'll hate you. be afraid of you.."

"i- i am." he whispered then looking down sighing, he messed with his sleeves sighing, she hummed a bit holding his shoulder "i have a hunger towards him," he said softly, she stared shocked "y-you want.." she muttered as she watched him continue to inject the substance "i have urges to, but haven't personally bit him. i couldn't but- today, i did consume his blood.." he grumbled a bit sighing

"you drank- did it satify you?" she asked, he looked off sucking through his teeth "next question.."

"you want more."

"want isn't enough, sadly i crave more.."

Chapter Text

Viktor was worried.

Mel could tell anyone—he hated the idea of being a pawn in this grand scheme, a scheme he sadly agreed on.

Viktor left the lab, sighing as he kept his eyes to the ground; soon he perked up hearing something; he looked behind himself—it must be curfew. I should leave fast before..

"Hey! What are you doing?" Damn it. Slowly the other turned, "I'm not any trouble; I am a scientist at-" The enforcer tried to grab him, but he subconsciously dodged, "Resisting authority? I think you just earned a night in jail, Mr. Scientist." Viktor stared, damn it—just can't win.

"I don't think I should, I fear." He said, staring. He stared at the man, who suddenly pinned him to a wall. "oh yeah? Why not?" he said, smirking. Viktor huffed with a growl; his eyes flashed a bit of purple, appearing behind the enforcer who fell against the wall. "You are infected with the idea of power, control—sickening," he said, staring at him, huffing. "What the... how did you..." he muttered, then grunting, swinging a baton.

He stumbled, holding his nose, then chuckling. "What's funny? I'm going to beat the shit out of you!" he yelled. Viktor clenched his fist. "Is that truly your plan? harm an innocent merely for resisting?" he questioned, then humming as he took off his coat and bag, he tilted his head a bit, his fangs pushed out from his mouth, forcing two more teeth out as he stared, "what the-"

Viktor panted a bit; this rush was nothing he's felt before—he coughed up a bit of blood. The man stared; Viktor gasped, holding his throat, then looking up at the man. His mind was racing yet, his throat was burning, his brain foggy and dazed; he needed—he needs..

He needed to eat.

Viktor merely laughed as his pupils widened, consuming his golden eyes. The enforcer backed up, staring at him. "Are you on something?" he said, aiming his rifle defensively. His fingers snapping with a deafening crack, his jaw unhinged, tearing the skin—god, what was happening to him?

Viktor shook a bit. He pulled at the torn skin on his cheek, showing rows of fangs. The man backed up but soon tripped; he stumbled a bit. "I am; but merely high on life," he whispered, then going closer, the man shot at him, making him stumble but soon scoffed. "Your weapon is nothing to me; man-made weapons will not cause any injuries to my evolved state," he whispered, then rushing into him, he pinned the other down.

He took a deep breath, using his claws to cut the man's cheek. He licked the spot, and the enforcer softly gasped in fear, "What are you..?" The man asked. He hummed, smiling a bit, giving a calm expression. He hummed a bit, "I am merely—how do I say this? Hm, I am a martyr for those this society has harmed," he said, then hissed, showing his fangs

Viktor stared at the torn-apart body, licking his lips; he soon went into the alleyway panting—he could hear the sounds of footsteps. the heavy heels of enforcers, he needed to escape and fast. He backed up, stumbling, before running farther down the alleyway; he soon hit a wall. Come on, Zaun Genes—help me out.

Viktor soon jumped up, catching a plumbing bar. He huffed, pulling himself up, then swinging to a new bar. he stumbled, waving his arms before letting out a laugh of disbelief. He soon looked up, seeing a balcony. He took a deep breath, bracing himself before jumping up, grabbing the railing of the balcony. Viktor grunted, pulling himself up. "Don't fall, don't fall-" he whispered as he soon got over the railing. He groaned a bit. "Fuck, I need a huge nap after this." he muttered, wiping his face.

He looked up once again, soon jumping to another balcony on the opposite side. He felt his grip slightly slip with a gasp, and he soon used his leg to pull himself up. "I am such a shitty Zaunite. then again, disabled, so debuffed from birth," he grumbled, pulling himself, then climbing to the room with a deep exhale. He sat there laying on the roof, catching his breath. "good job—now to somehow get home without jayce noticing," he grumbled, then wiping his face

viktor soon looked at his clothes, groaning, "Damn it, I don't know how to wash this much blood out!" He grumbled, then taking off his vest and shirt, he sighed, "Just great; I have two issues. No work clothes, and I have to explain why I'm late." He grumbled, then threw a bit of rubble, upset. He soon saw it hit the wall, making a dent. He gasped, "Oh, no, that's—I should go." he muttered, getting up and picking up his clothes, huffing.

Viktor soon went into the house sighing. Jayce soon came out of his room. "Viktor, you're okay!" he said, smiling a bit. He looked at him, panting, "You look out of breath. What happened?" he asked, walking over; he shrugged, "I ran. I never knew how much it sucked until I did it today; I also got an awful nosebleed. " He said, lifting his bloody clothes, Jayce stared worried, "Are you okay? do you feel light-headed? God, why would you run if you had a nosebleed?" Jayce rambled, checking his nose; he stared unfazed.

"Jayce, again, I am nearly 40. Do not baby me; I am not weak," he said, flicking his forehead, making the other touch the spot with a slight pout. He rolled his eyes, walking past him. "I went to the lab today to test something, but it was a flunk, so I will take this time to rest," he said, waving the other off. Jayce was shocked. "Who are you, and where did you take my Viktor?" he asked with a scoff. He looked at the other. "Having a normal sleep schedule has changed me, talis. We need to get to the lab soon before I fall behind," he teased, smiling a bit. Jayce stared fondly. "Don't worry, I'm working on it. I just want you 100 percent.

"I'm going to be a 200 percent by the time your ready; I think your getting too comfy not using that brain of yours," he said, leaning again against the door frame of his bedroom. Jayce placed his hand on his chest and said,

"Shame on you; I'm never not using my brain. Wait until you see my notes from this week alone," Viktor hummed. "I'm looking forward to it; I was getting bored of constantly being right. need to see if your equations are still shit," he said, shrugging as he closed his door. Jayce threw a pillow at the door. "I'm good at math! you were the one who forgot his 8-time table," jayce yelled

"Sometimes the lack of sleep gets me! sue me!" He yelled back; Jayce merely laughed; Viktor smiled as he turned from the door, soon gazing at his bloody clothes and sighing. He set the clothes into a bin; he'll worry later. He needs to sleep off all this—plus, he just killed a man; he needs to wallow in self-remorse for a day at least. This was not what he expected when that mad man said 'new life' or whatever.

Viktor sighed soon, taking off his clothes. He touched the brace around his waist—he didn't truly need it anymore, but it felt right to keep on. He took a deep breath, soon unbuckling it, taking it off with a deep exhale. He traced the dents it made in his skin.

"Huh, I'm somehow more pale there," he muttered to himself as he stared in the mirror. He hummed a bit. "I didn't think I could get any whiter." He continued, then turned around. "My cellulite is gone.." He kept examining himself, looking for any more of his missing imperfections. He scoffed a bit, backing up a bit

"Odd.." he muttered softly, he traced his body then humming a bit, wiping his eyes soon heading to sleep

Jayce soon went into Viktor's room humming before pausing seeing the other asleep; he smiled a bit- something about his relaxed face slightly drooling, he fixed the other's hair making him hum a bit shuffling. He soon walked over checking the bin of clothes, he stared confused taking it out.

He soon unfolded it, his eyes widened seeing the large stain of blood- panicked he checked the vest panting; this was no simple nosebleed. This was likely from a injury but-

Jayce looked at Viktor confused, his eyes scanning his body; he soon grazed his skin checking his injuries, viktor hummed stirring- he jumped soon leaving with the clothes.

He sighed "maybe he was helping tend to someone..?" He muttered, he soon sighed going to put it in his basket to take to wash. Viktor wouldn't harm anyone, he knows that but it's hard to not have  idea.

Viktor is not violent. He wouldn't hurt anyone. He's kind. He wants to help people- wait. Maybe it's my own blood? He said he was working with different testing

Why did he need blood testing? Why did he give it so willingly though? He shook his head sighing, he soon went to another room sitting on the ground scrubbing the bloodied clothing. This felt wrong yet, he didn't mind helping Viktor out. If hypothetically always think with hypotheticals in science- did hurt someone, it was likely deserved.

Jesus, he's rationalizing attempted murder for some guy he has a big crush on. Well, crush is a understatement. "Jayce..?" A voice called out, he jumped putting the clothes in staring "your..not supposed to do Landry today, we agreed it was my turn." He said

Viktor stood wearing the young inventors shirt he got at the fair years ago, it was so baggy on him. "Your..wearing my shirt." He muttered, his cheeks felt warm at the mere thought, but to actually see it? God, he was blessed today.

"Ah, yes- I was uh..I needed to throw something on and out clothes get mixed up when it comes to tees..but uh, please- allow me to handle it" he said bending down, jayce slightly leaned back at the closeness- don't be weird, don't basically froth at the mouth at seeing his shoulder. You just saw him- but, this was so much different! It's more..intimate when he wears his clothes.

"Don't worry about it, I already started- if you want you could do the dishes! Then we'll be even" he said, viktor let out a chuckle "its not the matter of equality, it's uh..I'd say more routine for me,having something to look forward too." He said twirling his hand with his finger looking off.

Cute. Adorable. Absolutely beautiful- "that's fair. You really like your routines- I'm sorry for messing that up" he muttered looking down, viktor tilted his head to make eye contract with him, both lifting their head to stare at each other "I'm not mad, god- you'd know if I was upset, trust me." He said chuckling a bit. Jayce melted at the sight smiling a bit, rubbing his still wet hand on his neck "yeah- I would." He muttered.

"Now, keep washing it while I go do those dishes- I better come back to you being done since yours eager." He teased standing up, he held onto the rim of the desk, instinctively he held onto him. His hands holding the other's waist despite being kneeled "jayce- I'm fine, I promise." He said patting his hand, they were so slender compared his own. Jayce hesitantly let go "sorry, I uh- muscle memory. I mean, I don't want you to get hurt." He muttered softly.

"I know. But I'm not sure how to feel knowing you can so easily grab my waist like that- little bold, no?" He teased then humming with a smirk then walking off. Jayce watched him, his eyes slightly wide- was that flirting? Did he just flirt with him or is the bleach getting to him now?

"Oh, and jayce" he perks up looking over, viktor smiles at his puppy like eagerness "we'll eat out for tonight, my treat." He said then heading to the kitchen, if jayce had a tail- it would be wagging so hard. Was that a date invite? That felt like a date invite. He wants me. We are so back. Jayce nodded a bit smiling a bit, he bit his lip covering his mouth in awe- he excitedly washed the blood covered clothes, he hummed to himself messing with his nails

Jayce soon got up rushing out, buttoning his shirt "Vik, hold on- my fingers are a bit too thick for the holes" he muttered, viktor chuckled looking at him "that is what she said." he said walking out adjusting his coat, he looked up at him "i should of never tau- wow. you look..good" he said shyly. viktor stared confused then hummed looking off twirling the hair around his finger "ah, i uh- thank you, i suppose" he muttered

"ah, do you think you could button this though? i think this is that shirt i bought that has too tiny of buttons" he muttered, viktor rolled his eyes playfully going towards him buttoning his shirt "i told you to return this, you need more breathable clothing since you are..larger" he said shrugging as he focused signing it, he hummed a bit "i know, but we were busy that week, remember? the arcane of the core was acting weird so, we were consumed by cooling it" he said pouting abit watching him. "you had the day off, i remember you leaving early so you had the time" viktor said then hitting his shoulder, he stared confused

"i did?- oh, no- i couldn't, i had to an appointment. they had to check my vision after the hex core flashed me" he said, viktor hummed nodding "fair, it's too long though. maybe donate it then, you won't have me always to do this" he said playfully pushing him walking off, Jayce dusted himself off then putting out his vest smiling following towards him "you're so eager, is going out to eat that exciting?" he asked tilting his head, he nodded a bit

"we don't get to hang out much, either i'm busy or you were busy" he said shrugging a bit, holding onto him; viktor pat his hand pulling away as he kept walking out the door, jayce slightly stumbled as if being pulled by his works; he looked outside "god, it's actually quite early. lucky us, alright come with me" he took his hand soon walking down, he jumped "oh- you are strong now" he muttered in awe.

Chapter Text

Viktor leads Jayce; Jayce doesn't care if he's being pulled away. He likes letting Viktor lead him; he knows cooler places, then he does anyway—well, mainly cheaper places, which is a major win for when they were saving up.

"I was wondering, do you have anything you don't like?" Viktor suddenly asked, and Jayce blinked, caught off guard, before thinking to himself, "I don't have anything I don't like—wait! No, I'm lying. pickles! I hate them," he said with a slight snarl at the mere thought. The other raised his brow with a slight smirk, "Seriously? I quite enjoy pickles," he said, smiling a bit, pickle theory. "how do you feel about olives?" jayce asked, and Viktor playfully gagged, looking at him "God, no, I can't stand them," he said again—the theory is proven!

"Why do you ask?" He questioned, and Jayce shrugged, looking off a bit. "I mean, not everyone likes pickles nor olives." He chuckled a bit. "Plus, what if I want to share with you? I mean, I like sharing with you," he continued. Viktor stared at him, then rolling his eyes and smiling. "Of course, are you... down for something foreign?" he asked. "Depends, no offense, but I can only potatoes so many times," he muttered.

Viktor stared clearly offended. He chuckled at the others reactions. "Shut up, asshole," he grumbled. Walking off, he ran after him, a smile on his face as he stood beside the other. He soon looked over, seeing police tape and enforcers scraping up blood. "Damn, whatever is killing enforcers is getting so violent."

Viktor stared anxiously, then looked off "Yes, it appears so." He muttered. Jayce looked at him worried as he kept walking. "You sure you want to keep heading to the lab so late? I mean, I understand the enforcers are around, but this thing seems kind of angry," he said, holding his shoulder. Viktor looked at him. "Let's drop the topic, alright?" he asked. Jayce blinked, shaking his head. He looked at him, smiling a bit. "let's get to the place, ay?" he said, patting Viktor's back, making him slightly stumble. He stared before walking off

"Hey V, this sounds crazy, but do you want to try sneaking off to try undercity food?" he asked. Viktor blinked, then scoffed, smirking, going close to him "You interested or merely tryin' to maybe do something a bit wild for the fun? Either way, I'm quite down for whatever," he said, clasping his hands together. Jayce chuckled, "a mix of both; I'm feeling awful adventurous, and you seem to think fondly of it," he said, shrugging. Viktor stared, caught off guard, then looked off, clearing his throat. "I mean, we could, but it's likely not the best time. The tension is high between both sides," he muttered softly, messing with his fingers

cute, cutie - Viktor twirled his finger around his hair strand; he looked off a bit. "Awe, alright, well, where are we going?" He asked, and he smiled a bit, perking back up and leading him by pulling his hand into a more tight area. He looked around in awe. Piltover was home to many elite people, but even some middle-class people would work in more sheltered areas. "It was somewhere I started to go with a former employee of Heimerdinger," he explained, soon showing him a small restaurant by the name of "Minji's Pleasures."

"They have quite a variety of food! Many things I think you will enjoy as well, like spicy things. such as-" Viktor slightly rambled, and Jayce stared fondly. god, he was thinking about what i'd like too? How sweet of him. I need to kiss him. No, that's way too forward—I want to hold his hand and tell him he's my universe.

"But also, they sell my favorite, my favorite thing." Jayce slightly tilted his head. "Sweet milk?" he asked. He stared, caught off guard. "Uh, yeah—how did you know?" He asked in confusion, and he smiled a bit, shrugging. "I remember at the innovators competitions, you saw someone selling it, and you seemed to perk up like a child in a candy store," he said. Viktor looked off shyly. "Well, it's hard to find it up here in Piltover," he muttered. Jayce merely smiled. "You're so cute," he muttered softly. Viktor blinked, caught off guard; both went bright red.

"sorry! I just—I kind of just blanked out while I was talking!" He rambled, trying to explain himself, then, groaning embarrassed, Viktor stared, clearing his throat. "Don't stress it. It was sweet," he said, patting his hand. He hummed a bit, leading him more. He took him inside the dimly lit building; it was covered in memorabilia from different times between Zaun and Piltover. He stared in awe. Viktor hummed as an older woman perked up from behind her desk. He looked over, smiling a bit. "Viktor, my dear—you return!" the woman says, hugging him, then gasping and holding onto him. "You're standing—without your cane! Oh, look at you!" He said, circling him excited.

He cast a shy look away. "Of course, I may have improved quite a bit," he muttered. She hugged him once more and then looked at Jayce. "And you brought a boy! "My goodness, look at him!" She teased, and he blushed, wiping his face in embarrassment. "Ms. Haights, you are being weird," he muttered into his hands, huffing. Jayce gave a chuckle.

"Such a big one, too, god—you both must be hungry! Come sit; I will get you a couples menu!" She said it excitedly, and Viktor was taken aback as Jayce looked on, blushing in shock. "We are not a couple; he is my partner!" Viktor clarified. She squinted, offended. "You married without inviting me? shame! A thousand times!"

Viktor shook his head, holding onto her hands. "No! We work together! This is Jayce, the scientist I work with." He explained slowly. She blinked, processing then pouting, "Aw, I was hoping that my little deer finally got his own love." She muttered, pinching his cheek, and he groaned, "Please, not in front of him." Jayce stared fondly; the almost family-like dynamic was so sweet to watch.

"I saved your favorite table; actually, go sit until I can go help you, alright?" Viktor nodded a bit, leading Jayce, who looked around in awe. "She seems sweet," he said with a sly smile. He rolled his eyes. "She's just—she knew me since I moved here—the only place my foster parents' would take me when I refused to eat Piltover's food," he muttered, shrugging. Jayce leaned onto the table listening

watching him as he spoke—completely enamored by Viktor in this somewhat new lighting "I mean, I understand. it is so plain but then you slowly get used to it—but my momma would still cook our own food," Jayce said, hummed

"Do you ever miss your home? I mean, I don't want to press on a sensitive spot, but, y'know, Viktor vaguely made gestures before shrugging, earning a laugh. "Of course, I miss the food, the people, and the culture; I can still have it here," he explained, gesturing off. He stared at Jayce, sighing a bit. he hummed soon, clearing his throat. "I'll go get us a menu," he said. Jayce nodded before giving a smirk. "is there any cheap things on the couple menu that we happen to hopefully get?" he teased. Viktor stared, going red "You have now got the honors of paying, just for that joke," he said, walking off

"Why don't you date him? He seems so sweet and cute!" She said, grabbing his hand as he took two menus. He stared, embarrassed. "He is, but he has feelings for Mel—she's wonderful, and I couldn't bear to ruin our work relationship with the mere idea!" He grumbled, she crossed her arms. "Ambessa's daughter, huh? Hm, does she know?" He merely shrugged, looking off.

"I believe so since they seem far closer," he explained as he held the menu. "Don't worry, I bet they're just really close friends. I mean, you would hear far more if so, no?" She explained. He blinked then pouted, looking off. "I don't know—ah, could we get a beer and some sweet milk, please?" He asked, making her ask, "Of course, darling, go sit; I don't care if your better or not—you need to stay off that leg," she said, playfully hitting him as he left smiling.

Viktor set it down, looking at him, smiling a bit. "Here, I hope you at least find something in here to consume," he said. Sitting back down, Jayce looked at him, "Why are you so far? Scared of me suddenly?" He teased, using his foot to pull him closer; he stared in shock, going red. Viktor's brain was a mix of embarrassment and hunger merely due to the act he smelt so good—his blood was suddenly so prominent now that he has tasted him.

"That was unwarranted; I could have pulled myself," he said, crossing his arms. Jayce merely chuckled, looking at him, then the menu "So, are you and Mel getting along well?" he asked suddenly. He blinked, confused, then looked up at Jayce, who merely stared. "Yes, she's quite intelligent. i like conversing with her, very helpful with more- emotion based conversation?" he explained, he smiled a bit

"You want to talk emotions? Who are you, and what have you done with my dear lad?" he teased. Viktor rolled his eyes, smiling a bit. "I would like to ask you something more personal: what caused this change in you? I mean, you seem so different," he continued. Viktor looked off, thinking "i don't know—I think it's mainly a matter of being so close to death." he muttered, looking at his hands sighing

"No, no—it's way different! I mean, you seem completely changed. you've become more confident; it's great, but- god, something feels off." he said, Viktor stared then hummed, looking at the menu. " you must truly like me since you noticed something was -quote on quote-'off.' with me," he muttered, Jayce looked at him confused then went slightly flushed, he cleared his throat "well, i mean- I'm with you constantly, i notice a lot of things." he said messing with his sleeves, Viktor tilted his head leaning against his hand "such as?"

"your eyes, they feel so much more- dim? i mean, you have pretty golden eyes but, it's more hazel now" he muttered, Viktor stared caught of guard sitting up a bit, he sat up "you stare into my eyes that much to notice?" he muttered, Jayce cleared his throat embarrassed looking down "i uh, anyways- you also have really cold hands now? i mean, you had bad blood circulation but now it's like your dead or something." he said shrugging, Viktor looked at him making the other freeze a bit gulping "And, your stare- you always had this kind of stare that kind of brings people in but, now it feels uh-Eerie? like you're trying to scare me" he said with a chuckled, the other just laughed "that's funny, you seem to examine me and my every move! i mean, as if I'm your next experiment" he said

"i think we're even since you took my blood for your personal experiment, i should get my chance too" he teased, he smiled a bit; he chuckled a bit leaning back as the drinks were set onto the table, Jayce stared at him slightly squinting "you're right, as partners we should be allowed to give each other things for our own personal findings, no?" Viktor asked, Jayce shrugged a bit "i suppose, in that case- give me your blood" he said, Viktor blinked processing what he asked, shit. Retreat- does he ever bleed anymore?!

"fine."

shame on you, Viktor! why do you challenge him so much?

"only if i get..to examine you and i mean, full on examine." Jayce stared caught off guard then sat up nodding "it's a deal. Now, let's order food before we look like more of freaks." he said looking at the menu to hide his flustered face. Viktor merely smirked sipping his drink "Trust me, they've seen far weirder things from me. But, fine- order something if it makes you feel less embarrassed, Mr. Talis" he teased, Jayce kicked his seat making him choke on his drink huffing. "you are a evil man, Jayce." the other merely laughed from behind his menu

Jayce managed to find himself something to eat, it was a simple dish involving meat and vegetables. balanced as himself- meanwhile, Viktor ordered something that had pig's blood baked into it, he needed to get his fix somehow and this was the safest option; Jayce stared clearly off put by the order "V, are you sure that's a good idea? i mean, no judgement for cultures but I'm worried about your immune system-"

Viktor smiled a bit taking a bite "you say as if, i haven't eaten here many times? i know you worry for my eating habits but, this is the most safest" he said, Jayce watched as Viktor ate the food, he gulped a bit as if unsettled "there's gotta be better options for iron then actual blood."

It was clear he was trying to make a joke but the worry was real. Jayce cared for Viktor more than he carried for himself, the other sat there eating avoiding eye contact with Jayce knowing eventually he would crack to the kind, puppy-like gaze of the other. "do you want to try my food? it's basic but, got a nice spicy kick to it!" he said

Viktor hummed then looking at him- how could he say no to that face? his gap was visible and his eyes slightly squinting from his cheeks "fine, but- you try mine as well." Jayce's smile faltered slightly as he nodded a bit, he picked up a spoon full feeding it to Viktor who merely rolled his eyes taking a bite. "there we go, mijo" he teased, Viktor scoffed sitting back "still doing that? seriously, it was 4 years ago!"

"you're such a dork, i swear." Viktor muttered as he covered his mouth as he chewed, Jayce merely flashed a jokingly cocky smile; he scoffed out a smile, he soon smirked "I think I should be allowed to be such a dick, now open wide, mr councillor" he teased lifting up the spoon, Jayce stared looking grim. "Uh, on second thought- i think I need a moment to rethink this out" jayce rambled giving a nervous smile staring at the spoon going towards him

Viktor pouted "you don't truly care." He muttered huffing, he sat up going towards him poutingg "don't use that tone- stop looking at me like that!" Jayce grumbled looking off, Viktor kept looking at him "jayce, you trust me with your life but drawn the line at me feeding your pig's blood?" Jayce went quiet before losing at him "yes. I am free drawing the line at eating literal blood, I'm not some- vampire!" He said, viktor stared rolling his eyes "you are childish. Vampires aren't real and it's normal in many cultures- eat up, big boy.'" he said putting the spoon to his mouth, he stared chewing uncomfortable. "It's not bad but, I wouldn't order it personally.." he grumbled, Viktor hummed "you have something on your lip, dummy " he teased the wiping his lip with his thumb then pulling back licking it

Jayce learned something new about himself.

The fact that Viktor can walk him like a dog, and he'll say thank you.

Chapter Text

When they got home, Viktor went straight to his room and vomited, his body removing his humanity with each hurl; he panted, drooled, and hissed, "Hey, Viktor—are you all right?" He asked worriedly; he hummed in response, "I'm fine; the food merely settled wrong today. "It is fine; I guess it is a bad day," he murmured softly as he sluggishly walked to the door. Jayce tilted his head in concern, and Viktor looked up at him briefly. Suddenly, that hunger returned, and the delusion of simply overpowering him to tear into his arteries and drain him flashed in his mind. Jayce seemed to notice his hungry stare; he seemed slightly put off-put; he soon caught himself clearing his throat; he soon pulled away, walking past him. he stumbled a bit but corrected himself

'Vik, you should sit down; you seem sick," he said worried. Viktor glared at him, snarling a bit. "Shut up, I'm going to the lab. I need to—I need my meds," he grumbled, rubbing his neck. "Viktor, you need to stay. I won't let you leave; it's almost curfew, and you aren't ok," he said, standing tall in front of him. Viktor stared, standing straight, making direct eye contact with him now. "Who said I needed your permission?" He said with a scoff; he soon slid past him. "Never forget, I'm a Zaunite before I am a Piltie," he teased. Jayce stared, shocked, looking at him. "how the—V, I'm serious" he said as his tone lowered; he scoffed

"You are suddenly my father? I thought you were my lab partner," Jayce wiped his face, huffing. He looked off, crossing his arms. "Vik, you are being immature. I'm only trying to help you." He said, Viktor scoffed, walking past him, "so it all comes back to being hopeless, little, crippled me—huh?" he said with a dry laugh; Jayce's jaw clenched as he took a deep breath. "it's not like that and you know that—" Viktor tilted his head, letting out a laugh; there was no humor in the tone; it was only shock and disbelief. "Do I? I may be a scientist, but the years of illness have rendered me somewhat mindless!" He taunted, Jayce turned away from him, sighing. He took a deep breath. 'Viktor, you're acting irrational; you know it as well as I do," he said then, sitting on the couch. Viktor stared with a scowl: "Don't do the stupid- this! You're just trying to avoid the topic!" he said, pointing at him.

Jayce stared at him with worried brows; his lip twitched as he looked off. "Just go; don't call for me when you get in trouble," he muttered, rolling his eyes. He looked at him, scoffing, 'You act as if you married me; I am shocked—quite an odd reaction." Viktor teased and then left the room; he hummed a bit; he walked out the door; Jayce's soft sigh was the last thing he heard before sighing and walking off; he slightly limped but could stand fully; he needed to speak to Mel. She has logic; she would understand; she understands.

Mel walked through the hall, soon peeking into the lab and noticing it was open. Viktor sat looking at himself in the mirror—his eyes were less sunken, but his cheeks were still deep; he touched his face softly. He perked up, looking at her with bright orange eyes, then his normal golden eyes; he gulped a bit. "You're here, thank god,' he said, getting up as she walked in worried. "A-are you alright? You look quite ill yet rested," she questioned, touching his face then softly gasping, 'My god, you are freezing..." He looked off, sighing a bit, messing with his sleeve

"It was going so well; I had dinner with Jayce, and it was fine—I was trying to keep the illusion that everything was fine," he muttered, pushing his hand through his hair as he sat back down; she leaned over, checking the notes he wrote. "You two fought? I'm shocked; you're both usually the kiss-and-makeup type," she muttered with a hum. She slightly pouted, thinking, "What is different? Other than the usual things?" she asked, gesturing to his whole self. He hummed, thinking, then looked at his hands. "The nails have gotten longer, uh—I have more heightened senses; I felt you a mile away," he explained as he looked in his book writing

"No aversion to sun?" She asked; he looked at her with a judging face, making her clean her throat, embarrassed; he smirked a bit, looking back at his book. "No, but the fact that I have stronger urges than ever. I vomited my food due to a sudden aversion, but Jayce came over and suddenly his scent engulfed me, and—" He sighed, wiping his face; he groaned, "I was so hungry and afraid I'd maul him, I got mad. I got hangry over the fact I couldn't eat my partner!" he said. She stared at him, her eyes shocked by the sight "Jesus, do you feel okay?" she whispered, holding his shoulder; he sighed a bit

"You don't know how insane it feels to crave someone, like a damn animal who hasn't been fed in months." He muttered, huffing and wiping his face. She sat beside him, rubbing his shoulder. "I don't, but I can understand how much you're struggling. I'm sorry you are feeling such a way." She said, pushing his hair strand out of his face. He stared, huffing. "Mel, would you mind running some tests with me?" he suddenly asked. She stared, caught off guard, soon staring. "It depends on the test. You have that look in your eyes." Viktor merely blinked, getting up

"I still have leftover blood from the vial I got from Jayce; it is not much, but it's there." He said, going into a drawer; he exhaled, looking at her. "I don't like the fact you just have it there still. What is the plan in question"? She muttered softly, holding the vial and humming a bit. "The blood tends to cause an effect on my personal self, such as after I drank Jayce's blood—I had a reaction towards you, which is odd since I am a painfully homosexual," he said softly, pacing back and forth thinking. Her face went flushed; he stared at her with a blank stare Is that reaction towards the Jayce comment or the mere mention of my homosexuality"? I am kind of perplexed..." he muttered, soon going towards her

"Both, I thought you and Sky were..." He stared, then laughed a bit before slowly stopping. "Oh dear, you were serious..." he said softly, leaning against the wall. She nodded a bit. "Oh, no—I enjoy her presence and such, but we were merely just friends." He explained, taking up a notebook and giving it to her, "Back to the important matter, but this is my notes on the whole experience so far. Thoughts, moments in which I have reactions and research involving the sort," he explained. She hummed, thinking a bit, reading, and flipping the pages. Her brows furrowed. "You write a lot about your desire to harm people; I fear that is something we should talk about." She said, reaching to touch his hand. he pulled away soon writing in his board, "I was wondering, what would make a proper replacement? I tried pig's blood, but I got sick after..." he muttered; her eyes watched him as he wrote. "You have very nice handwriting, but I think we should likely focus on ways to curb those urges," she tried to explain, taking the chalk and then staring at it. "Did—did you tape two bits of chalk together?" She questioned, and he cleared his throat. "It was Jayce's idea, and well—we were very tired," she sighed

"You two become idiots when you are together too long." She muttered, playfully flicking his forehead. He shrugged. "Jayce has that effect on people, I fear."

Mel sat staring at the board covered in many writings of the two; her hair was now down, and she was wearing Viktor's coat. "Hm, maybe you should try getting blood from donors? Maybe it's a blood type situation like with flies!" She said, pointing at him. He sat in the chair humming. He stared at her. "What blood type is Jayce though? How would I figure such a thing out?" he asked. She hummed, thinking, then smiled, pointing the merely nail-length piece of chalk at him. "His file! We take blood tests to see if our counselors are in tip-top shape! I could go in and check," she explained.

"But that information is blocked by Heimerdinger; he won't let just anyone go through?" He said, she huffed, then smiling, "Who said anything about asking?" She said, going over to him. He stared at her with a slight smile. "Oh? Have I somehow corrupted you with my bad habits?" He teased, making her laugh and pulling him up. "Oh, hush, just follow me!" He said, making him roll his eyes. "You said you had the ability to influence, no?" she muttered, holding his hand and leading him out of the room. He nodded a bit. "Yes, but I worry some people may be able to reject it—maybe it's like hypnotism; not everyone is susceptible," he explained. she stared, annoyed, covering his mouth

"At least try, Viktor. Think of this as a test, my dear friend," she said, smiling. He sighed, looking at her defeated. "You are manipulating a weak man, Mel. The people shall hear of this." He said with a smile, and moving her hand away, she merely giggled, walking along with him. He stared at her, sighing; he held onto her, making their way over to the large double doors; they would salute and say their hello's to the enforcers passing; she elbowed him, making him cough out a grunt clearly hitting a weak spot. "that's the enforcer with the key; work your magic," she whispered. he sighed as they walked over

"Miss Mel, Viktor—what brings you two this way?" She asked, confused. Viktor took a deep breath, looking deep into the enforcer's eyes. "Let us into the room; that's all we request," he said. The enforcer stood up straight, almost dazed. "Yes, sir," she murmured, quickly taking out the key and taking out the key holder with thousands of keys—he smiled a bit, holding his hand as the woman set it in his hand; he blinked in shock. "Oh my god, that's insane—will she remember?" she questioned, he shrugged, then gulping staring "you're free to go; return in a few minutes and act as if none of this happened" he whispered, she hummed softly soon walking off slightly stumbling.

Viktor blinked caught of guard "Viktor, i think i am in love with you." she said pulling him closer then taking the key chuckling in awe, he stared caught off guard by the statement "i'm gay..?" she merely rolled her eyes soon opening the door heading inside; he followed looking around on edge. They entered a large room covered in walls of files, he hummed in a bit thinking "think you can sniff it out?" she teased, he glared at her soon scoffing "i will somehow manage to get into your mother's mind and make her cling to you. do not test me, Mel" he said pointing at her looking in different file cabinets "You are a evil man, Viktor- terribly evil." she said smiling

"being in piltover taught me much about being evil, that's why i work for the council" he teased, she playfully hit him making him chuckled; he hummed flipping though soon grabbing a file with the words "Talis, council" written on it; he hummed holding it up "i found it!" he said perking up, she smiled a bit walking towards him opening it with him, he stared reading "Type O, huh- universial donor" she muttered, he hummed staring at the file reading it more taking in the information before him, Jayce told him most of the things there but to see it all like this, i felt wrong yet fantastic to know nearly his whole story- that's creepy, viktor.

"hey uh, Viktor- you're drooling." she whispered softly, he perked up wiping his mouth "my mouth isn't used to having longer fangs- it tends to uh..anyways, let's head back out." he explained looking off closing the file setting it down, she nodded pulling him out looking around. He soon noticed the enforcer soon giving her the key back and both running off with a proud smile

"my god, i have never done anything like that! that was so much fun!" she said sitting in the swivel chair laughing, he smiled watching her "That is what we did a lot during the academy but i never had these abilities- i mean, i never had fun running until now" he said scoffing with a smile, she chuckled; soon they heard a knock "V..?" a voice called out, both froze; they gazed over to each other caught off guard "scare him away!" viktor said pointing at her whispering, she stared offended "he was yours first, use your magic!" she whispered back, he huffed looking around before hearing the key turn; he sucked through his teeth panicked "good luck." he said soon climbing the desk then jumping to the rim of the windows then hiding in the corner of the wall

"Viktor, you-" she growled before the door nearly opened, she immediatly hid everything smiling as he walked in "mel? uh, hey." he said softly, she hummed putting her head back "hello jayce, pleasure to see you- what do you need?" she asked, he hummed looking around pouting a bit "sadly, i was looking for viktor after we had a disagreenent. I wanted to apologize, i mean- i was just worried since the whole..thing hunting people issue." he muttered, viktor stared down at him blinking

Atleast he knows i'm always right, viktor thought before sniffing the air "ah, poor thing- well, viktor left out a bit to grab something" she explained patting his cheek, he hummed thinking "i'll wait for him! then he can know i'm serious about how bad i feel!" he said, viktor swears mentally while mel swears outloud. "well, you might be here long- oh, i was hoping to ask if you hopefully reach this book for me? it's sudden but i thought of tall men and you fit perfectly!" she said smiling, he stared confused soon being pulled up as she leads him out glaring at viktor, who merely mouthed a apology.

she's gonna tear him into pieces. Hopefully he won't die.
