Work Text:
Yamamoto Takeshi opened his eyes to look at what Haru had done to his make-up the woman forced him into. Second year of high school, second to the last year of school festival he’ll ever participate into, and their class got the wedding booth in Namimori High.
It... doesn’t look that bad, he just looks a little too innocent with the ‘no make-up’ bridal make-up. The pink of his lips accentuates his pout, the blush complimenting his skin tone and lashes curled in a way that he notices they’re actually long. The wig frames his face in a way that made him appear softer, it made him look like a pretty doll.
He doesn’t hate it but he doesn’t like it, it doesn’t feel like him. So, he snatched Haru’s reddest red lipstick when she looked away and applied it on his lips, the way his mom taught him when he asked to apply lipstick with her. It’s one of the things he remembers with her as a core memory, even his dad jokingly put it on, but the red on his lips made him feel pretty in a way that made him feel empowered so it stuck to him.
“Hahi! Yamamoto-san?! What did you do to your make-up?” Miura gasped when he finished applying the red lipstick perfectly, a reflex that when he misses his mom, he applies red lipstick to connect with her. His dad gifted him his mom’s favorite brand of lipstick when he discovered he almost finishes his mom’s expired lipstick at 8 years old. Now, every two years his dad gifts him one now.
“Making your make-up look a lot more like me.” He answered simply, staring at his mom’s twin in the mirror and then to his dad’s eyes from the back.
Today’s the last day of the festival so students and parents are encouraged to celebrate it. Haru left to get his dad as he requested, wanting the snacks and drink his dad bought as he’s a bit hungry now. He doubts he can get food later at the full swing of the festival so before showtime he must eat.
He watched as his dad easily composed himself when he caught him staring, but he couldn’t hide the fond expression and seeing someone else from the past from Takeshi’s knowing gaze. The two shared a smile at the mirror, his dad handing him some fries and burger with milk soda. Thankfully it has a straw so his make-up won’t be ruined.
“In Yamamoto’s defense, he looks more like a bride now than the pale as a sick patient make-up earlier.” Kurokawa chimed in.
“Hana-chan that’s a bit mean, Haru-chan just accidentally used cool foundation when it should be warm neutral. But I agree the red brings out the bridal make-up.” Sasagawa Kyoko added.
“Maa maa, it’s just an honest mistake but it’s okay now. Is it time for them to announce the champion and announce the groom yet?” Takeshi chuckled as he sipped on his milk soda.
“Hahi! Last I saw Reborn-kun took out his toy gun and shot at Tsuna-san and Tsuna-san shouted he will marry you with his dying will! That’s supposed to be me but at the same time boy’s love shouldn’t be interrupted at all costs, so I’m letting Tsuna-san go and help the bride look his best!” Haru replied, looking fired up as Takeshi sweat dropped.
“The competition is actually Sawada, Hibari-senpai, Rokudo from Kokuyo High, Kozato from Simon High, a guest named Byakuran, and Mochida-senpai.” Hana stated as Takeshi grimaced at Mochida-senpai’s name in one of the possibilities of being his groom, Kyoko gave him an sympathetic smile which he replied with a thumbs up.
After all, whoever will be his groom, will be only for today. It’s not like they’re getting married for life.
The championship ended up with a tie between Tsuna and Kyoya-senpai. He can hear it from Hayato’s outburst and Ryohei-senpai’s extreme cheers of a tie breaker.
One of their classmates put the veil on him and lead him out to the baseball field where the championship was held, then their principal suddenly asked him his choice.
“Yamamoto-san, both of them are in a tie to be your groom which is the championship’s reward. Who would you choose?”
“Both? I mean, they earned it fairly after all and it would be unfair to choose just one.” He blurted out suddenly, it makes sense after all but he’s unsure how to proceed. Maybe if he pushes for the two to be the ones wed to each other instead of him then it’s great. He’s about to add that when his mouth dropped from the solution the principal stated.
“Then you’ll have two grooms. Let the wedding begin!”
“HIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!”
He’s handed off to his dad who will walk him down the aisle as Young and Beautiful (DH Orchestral Version) by Lana Del Ray blares in the speakers. He gripped his dad’s arm tightly and breathed in a calming pattern to slow down his rapidly beating heart.
How in the hell is he fake marrying both of his crushes in a high school event because he’s the reward?
That sounds like one of Haru’s cliché BL novels she reads with Kyoko and Hana.
He sighed as he portrays peace and calm in his exterior while he’s freaking out internally, it’s a bit unfair with how drop dead gorgeous Kyoya is in an all-black suit and Tsuna’s damn adorable in his all-white suit.
The back veil drags with his cape sleeves in his form fitting white dress which has a cinch on his waist giving him the illusion of an hourglass figure. Too soon, his dad get his bouquet from him only to hand him off to both Tsuna and Kyoya, both taking one of his hands and leading him to the altar. Kyoya acknowledged him, seemingly can’t take his eyes off of him while Tsuna’s stuttering and being all red while also looking a bit too happy with himself.
“Y-you look g-good Takeshi-kun.” Tsuna whispered to him as he blushed back.
“Thanks Tsuna, you look adorable too.” He smiled back as Kyoya didn’t let go of his hand which made Tsuna also hold on to his. Ahh, he’s quite trapped, isn’t he?
“We are gathered here today to witness the Hibari-Yamamoto-Sawada wedding. Whoever has any objections, speak them now or forever hold your peace.” The priest who suspiciously reminds him of Reborn spoke for everyone to hear as Tsuna let out a squeak.
“I object. Let the grooms prove their merit to me before they marry my only son.” Tsuyoshi suddenly challenged as gasps rang throughout the field. Even he gaped at his dad.
“Very well, you two know what to do. Defeat the father of the bride in order to marry Takeshi.” Reborn stated as Hibari procured his tonfas while Tsuna swallowed his pills.
“Ehh?! But tou-san! Wait!” Takeshi tried to protest but his father already made Tsuna’s suit into a crop top and made Kyoya lose his black shirt by cutting in the middle. Then Tsuyoshi let Kyoya and Tsuna ‘hit’ him in order to be defeated.
Crop top and shirtless suits are the cause of the bride’s unfortunate nosebleed which Haru saved by giving him a handkerchief immediately to stop the blood flow.
“The grooms may return now, never mind the outfit change. The wedding must go on now with the blessing of the bride’s father.” Reborn priest interjected while Tsuna panics over his suit.
“They have proven their worth, I’ve spoken my peace.” Tsuyoshi remarked to the cheers of everyone.
“Now, do you Takeshi, accept Tsunayoshi and Kyoya to be your lawfully wedded husbands?” the priest asked.
“I do.” He answered honestly.
“Do you Kyoya, take Takeshi as your lawfully wedded wife and Tsunayoshi as your lawfully wedded husband?”
“I do.” Kyoya stated seriously.
“Do you Tsuna, take Takeshi as your lawfully wedded wife and Kyoya as your lawfully wedded husband?”
“I do!” Tsuna declared.
“Put the rings on each other.” Reborn priest smirked as Kyoko hands over the rings which is surprisingly well made.
Takeshi received an orange topaz solitaire ring from Tsuna and a marquise amethyst ring from Kyoya. He gave them both a teardrop sapphire ring while the two exchanged another topaz and amethyst.
“Now, you may kiss the bride and your husband.” Reborn ended.
Takeshi blushed red and tried to play it cool while Tsuna and Kyoya played rock paper scissors on who gets to kiss him first. But oh kami-sama, he hasn’t had his first kiss yet! How does one even kiss someone? Are they also doing the honeymoon?! He’s only 17! And how can he take both?!
As he was panicking, Tsuna won and gently lifted his veil off which distracted Takeshi enough to calm for a bit but then he’s pulled down gently and his thoughts emptied as he kissed Tsuna. It’s like kissing a rose’s soft petals in a welcoming dance.
It’s over with in a few seconds but it felt long and short for Takeshi, but then he’s pulled into Kyoya’s lips and felt the passionate thorns of the rose that took his breath away.
And then the bride promptly fainted from over blushing after burning the image of Tsuna and Kyoya kissing each other.
