Summary:

5 years after Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's Memory. Tokyo has been... Fine-ish. If slightly unmemorable. However, all of that will soon change.... Eaters have been slowly re-invading Japan, and it's all thanks to Lucemon, spreading out the X-Antibody in infinitum. The DWPS has been hard at work protecting the place, but they're getting slowly overwhelmed. To accommodate for that, they've recruited 6 teenagers and paired them up with their new partners. Can they save the world before the Eaters completely and utterly WRECK IT?

Chapter 1: Character introductions

HUMAN/PARTNER NOTES FROM DWPS:

Lucas De La Cruz + Commandramon
- Lucas' bio: A skilled RPG player, especially when it comes to Digimon; as a result, we have judged him the likeliest to be the only one who knows what he's doing.
- Commandramon's bio: Infantry Digimon belonging to the infamous D-Brigade, a mechanized brigade composed of Dragon-type cyborg Digimon. No one really knows what missions she goes on, and as a result she is treated like an outcast.
- Lucas' weapon of choice: a spear
- Commandramon's attacks: M16 Assassin (firing from her assault rifle), DCD Bomb (throwing a small bomb at her foes)
- Lucas' additional notes: seems to be highly expressive and has little control over his volume, thus allowing him to SUCK at stealth missions.
- Commandramon's additional notes: This Commandramon is the first female one we've ever researched.
- Commandramon's evolution line: Commandramon -> Sealsdramon -> Cyberdramon -> Darkdramon
- Voices: Nicolas Roye (Lucas), Lauren Landa (Commandramon)

Melissa "Millie" Thomason + Kazemon
- Melissa's bio: this one seems to be QUITE the cuddle bug, but she has been known to restrain herself if someone appears to be hug-averse.
- Kazemon's bio: a Fairy Digimon possessing the power over wind which bears the might of AncientKazemon. She freely manipulates the atmosphere to display mirages, specializing in attacks generating "Kamaitachi" made out of vacuums.
- Melissa's weapon of choice: surprisingly enough, her fists
- Kazemon's attacks: Tornado Interruttore (manipulates wind into the form of a blade, where she slashes the foe with it), Kamaitachi Slash (briefly takes the form of a Kyukimon to cut down the enemy)
- Melissa's additional notes: usually not one to talk, unfortunately; we at the DWPS prioritize interaction between human and Digimon.
- Kazemon's additional notes: people tend to assume she's just a sexy fairy who's useless in battle. One Tornado Interruttore and that's all you need to be proven wrong.
- Kazemon's evolution line: Kazemon -> Zephyrmon -> JetSilphymon -> AncientKazemon
- Voices: Emily Rudd (Melissa), Michelle Ruff (Kazemon)

Ryugo "Ryu" Namikawa + BlackGuilmon
- Ryugo's bio: an astoundingly cold and ruthless young man... At first glance. Thankfully he turned out to be a lot kinder than expected.
- BlackGuilmon's bio: a confident and wild fighter; often using his claws in battle. Outside of that, we know almost nothing about him.
- Ryugo's weapon of choice: honestly, anything goes for this guy; but more often than not a sword
- BlackGuilmon's attacks: Rock Crusher (where he slashes with his foreclaws), Virus Breath (spewing out a virus-infected blast from his mouth), Rock 'n' Roll Breaker (where he drills through his target with his claws)
- Ryugo's additional notes: oftentimes completely misses the point of what others are trying to say, and as a result BlackGuilmon has to tell him what the others were trying to say.
- BlackGuilmon's additional notes: best friends with the resident Shoutmon in the DWPS.
- BlackGuilmon's evolution line: BlackGuilmon -> Punkmon -> Loudmon -> HeavyMetaldramon

Christina Marshall + Psychemon
- Christina's bio: Quick and simple appears to be this woman's game. Unfortunately it results in many, MANY failures because she fails to analyze the situation.
- Psychemon's bio: Reptile Digimon characterized by his perturbing, flashy colors and flamboyant personality. This guy takes ANY and all opportunities to show off his colors, especially in battle in order to disorient the enemy.
- Christina's weapon of choice: bombs/grenades
- Psychemon's attacks: Colored Sparkle (where he concentrates colorful electrical energy and causes it to explode in the range of the enemy), Colorful Dance (using the primary colors on his body to perform a disorienting dance; NOT to be taken lightly despite its' silly nature), Psyche Horn (Attacks using his horn with colorful flames)
- Christina's additional notes: seems to have internalized homophobia about her nature as a lesbian
- Psychemon's additional notes: loves to refer to others as "darling" or "love", and has no qualms about doing so to Digimon of the same gender
- Psychemon's evolution line: Psychemon -> Gururumon -> SagittariGarurumon - CresGarurumon

Annabelle "Annie" Mitchell + Shoutmon
- Annabelle's bio: has a "devil-may-care" attitude towards life, and usually tries to live life to the fullest before she inevitably dies (she even has a bucket list!).
- Shoutmon's bio: a ferocious Small Dragon Digimon with high enthusiasm and natural love of music. She won't stop fighting 'til her passion disappears; which, considering her brave nature, isn't going to happen for a looooooooong time.
- Annabelle's weapon of choice: a warhammer
- Shoutmon's attacks: Fiery Fastball (where she forms a ball of fire in the shape of an 8th note and love it at the foe), Man 'o' Fire Straight (a fiery straight punch), Spirit Dive (where she divebombs the opponent, hitting them with her mic)
- Annabelle's additional notes: doesn't really "like-like" people, nor does she care for the sex; alarming in our opinion
- Shoutmon's additional notes: is best friends with the resident BlackGuilmon in the DWPS
- Shoutmon's evolution line: Shoutmon -> Tyrannomon -> MasterTyrannomon -> Dinomon
- Voices: Kayleigh McKee (Annabelle), Elsie Lovelock (Shoutmon)

Samuel "Sam" Lee + Renamon (Silver)
- Samuel's bio: one of the silliest humans we at the DWPS have EVER recruited... Which seems to lend itself well to his partner, who's arguably the prankster.
- Renamon's bio: a Beastkin Digimon with the appearance of a silver fox. He tends to battle opponents by toying with them via his incredible speed instead of Power Battling, which he finds entirely overrated.
- Samuel's weapon of choice: a crossbow
- Renamon's attacks: Diamond Storm (where he throws sharpened leaves at his opponent), Fox Switch Deception (utilizing a transformation art where he copies the opponent's appearance and re-covers himself in said texture, also giving him access to the opponent's attacks), Power Paw (covers his paws in ghostly flames, then he delivers a powerful one-two-three punch)
- Samuel's additional notes: LOVES to talk about DND to his partner, who shares complete interest in his stories
- Renamon's additional notes: enjoys playing tricks on others with his Fox Switch Deception technique
- Renamon's evolution line: Renamon -> Reppamon -> Chirinmon -> Mitamamon

Chapter 2: The Big 4 (+ Mirei)

Summary:

These guys are the leaders of the DWPS. They're known as The Big 4 because of their astounding synergy with each other and their partners!

Lumaeus "Luma" Hutchinson + Gumdramon:
- Lumaeus' bio: They are the founder of the DWPS, forming it after the Eaters first appeared. They're always gung-ho to enter the fight and help the new recruits.
- Gumdramon's bio: A Mini Dragon Digimon possessing a flexible Shippodzuchi (AKA tail hammer) that can extend anywhere. Her body is also flexible thanks to containing a mysterious Digizoid.
- Lumaeus' weapon of choice: a staff containing magical energy
- Gumdramon's attacks: Ran-gum Pistol (where she rapidly strikes the opponent with her hammer), Ran-gum Bajrang (where she extends her hands and grabs the opponent in order to throw them), Ran-gum Hammer (where she swings down her super-sized tail hammer)
- Lumaeus' additional notes: They're close friends with Mirei Mikagura, who performs additional research for the DWPS.
- Gumdramon's additional notes: her brother is Tagiru's Gumdramon from Xros Wars.
- Gumdramon's evolution line: Gumdramon -> Arresterdramon -> MetalArresterdramon -> Yūkan'naArresterdramon

Chloe Sarai + Piyomon:
- Chloe's bio: the DWPS Admiral of Technology. She mainly does research alongside Mirei. She's fairly controversial thanks to her supposed "cold nature", but anyone who's met her can tell you otherwise!
- Piyomon's bio: a Bird Digimon whose wings have developed into arms; which unfortunately gives him horrendous flight skills. Thanks to helping Chloe and Mirei with research, he doesn't really mind how he evolves.
- Chloe's weapon of choice: unfortunately none, but she has KILLER hacking skills!
- Piyomon's attacks: Magical Fire (where he spews out ethereal flames), Phantom Fire (where he fires a phantom blue fireball), Phantom Hurricane (where he creates a large tornado made out of ghostly flames)
- Chloe's additional notes: sometimes she and Mirei's Gatomon argue due to Gatomon frequently teasing her.
- Piyomon's additional notes: he hates when his beak gets touched.
- Piyomon's evolution line: Piyomon -> Jazardmon -> Jazarichmon -> Metallicdramon
- Voices: Haven Paschall (Chloe), Yuri Lowenthal (Piyomon)

Asher Tong + Armadimon:
- Asher's bio: the resident Head Doctor, leading a crew of Neemon to help heal the many recruits. Sometimes during his examations, he gets carried away with story telling, causing the leading Neemon to tell him to snap out of it.
- Armadimon's bio: a Mammal Digimon with their body covered in a hard shell. Thanks to watching many Broadway musicals, they've developed a highly theatrical personality.
- Asher's weapon of choice: his defibrillators can be used as weapons
- Armadimon's attacks: Diamond Shell (where they curl up into a ball and roll into the opponent), Scratch Beat (where they scratch the opponent with their extended claws), Diamond Rammer (where they use the rocks around them to form a spiked helmet, which they then use to tackle the opponent)
- Asher's additional notes: he has a major soft spot for his team of Neemons.
- Armadimon's additional notes: Psychemon hates them for arguably being MORE flamboyant than he is!
- Armadimon's evolution line: Armadimon -> Digmon -> Proganomon -> ElDoradimon

Katherine "Kathie" Romaine + Herissmon:
- Katherine's bio: the co-founder of the DWPS. She helped Lumaeus form it because she wanted to protect her partner.
- Herissmon's bio: a Mammal Digimon brimming with curiosity. If it finds something to fixate on, she'll lose sight of her surroundings, causing her a good bit of harm.
- Katherine's weapon of choice: a lance
- Herissmon's attacks: Lightning Quills (where she shoots lightning-coated quills at her enemy), Needle-Point Dive ( where she curls up into a ball and charges into the opponent) Ele-Claw (where she charges her claws with electricity and attacks)
- Katherine's additional notes: currently Mirei's fiancé; they plan to get married sometime next year
- Herissmon's additional notes: no matter what they go through, Herissmon's never losing hope that things will turn out alright in the end! (she got that from Nokia)
- Herissmon's evolution line: Herissmon -> Filmon -> Stefilmon -> Rasenmon
- Voices: Eden Sher (Katherine), Luci Christian (Herissmon)

Mirei Mikagura + Gatomon + BlackGatomon:
- Mirei's bio: Usually found researching alongside Chloe. She had a lot of experience with alternate universes because of her partners' Mega form, Mastemon.
- Gatomon's bio: a Holy Beast Digimon who loves to cause mischief, although she is usually held back by BlackGatomon before she can do anything major.
- BlackGatomon's bio: a Dark Animal Digimon with pitch-black fur that wanders within eerie darkness. She tends to be greatly irritated with Gatomon because of her troublemaking nature.
- Mirei's weapon of choice: None usually, but she DOES carry an axe just in case she needs to step in.
- Gatomon's attacks: Lightning Paw (where she uses her long claws to rush down the opponent), Cat's Eye Hypnotism (where she hypnotizes the foe into attacking themselves with a glare), Heaven's Knuckle (where she punches with a holy iron fist)
- BlackGatomon's attacks: Lightning Kick (where she kicks the opponent quickly), Cat Tail (where she slaps the opponent with her tail), Dangerous Love (where she seduces the opponent, allowing her to take control of the battle)
- Mirei's additional notes: currently Katherine's fiancé; they plan to get married sometime next year
- Gatomon's additional notes: loves BlackGatomon unconditionally despite their clashing natures
- BlackGatomon's additional notes: likes reading books during mission downtime

- Yuuko's bio: A confident 21 year old woman that is determined to help out whenever she can. However, 2 things remains the same: Her hesitance to raise her voice and her love of food.
- Zubamon's bio: A Weapon Digimon that is one of the Legend-Arms, capable of transforming herself into a weapon. Despite carrying the "Twentiest" data and often shouting "I AM THE TWENTIEST!!", she has no idea what twentiest means.
- Yuuko's weapon of choice: Zubamon in weapon mode/a mace
- Zubamon's attacks: Twenty Dive (where she charges headfirst), 20 Scratch (where she rapidly scratches the opponent)
- Yuuko's additional notes: greatly despises the Eaters, and as such hates Lucemon for bringing them back
- Zubamon's additional notes: She doesn't mind becoming a weapon for Yuuko
- Zubamon's evolution line: Zubamon -> ZubaEagermon -> Grademon -> Gaiomon -> Gaiomon: Itto Mode

Yuugo Kamishiro + BlackToyAgumon
- Yuugo's bio: The "Ghost of the White Boy" himself; quiet and eerily composed. As such, most people are intimidated by him.
- BlackToyAgumon's bio: a Puppet Digimon that was forcefully turned black thanks to a computer virus within the network. However, it refuses to harm even a single human child.
- Yuugo's weapon of choice: a shotgun
- BlackToyAgumon's attacks: Plastic Blaze (where he fires a toy missile shaped like a flame), Marion Punch (where he throws a flaming punch), Machine Attack (where he hits as hard as he can with a blow full of machine power)
- Yuugo's additional notes: has never been a people person, at all. At least he tries to open up himself...
- BlackToyAgumon's additional notes: BlackToyAgumon, on the other hand, LOVES talking to people, and especially loves when children play with him
- BlackToyAgumon's evolution line: BlackToyAgumon -> XrosGreymon -> CyberGreymon -> Machinedramon -> Chaosdramon

Ami Aiba + Hagurumon:
- Ami's bio: an absolute genius when it comes to solving mysteries with her partner, Hagurumon. She's a part of the DWPS Detective Team.
- Hagurumon's bio: A Machine/Mutant Digimon shaped like a gear. If any of their gears go missing, it becomes unable to maintain vital functions.
- Ami's weapon of choice: A spear
- Hagurumon's attacks: Cog Crusher (where they bury a black gear with a computer virus within the body of the opponent), Command Input (where they curse the enemy with a special computer program), Crash Device (where they electrically tackle the enemy)
- Ami's additional notes: is mostly a non-speaker, so when she DOES speak, everyone reacts in shock
- Hagurumon's additional notes: watches a lot of tokusatsu when not on the job
- Hagurumon's evolution line: Hagurumon -> Ballistamon -> AtlurBalistamon -> Invisimon -> Omedamon

Chapter 5: Nokia + Arata + Takumi

Nokia "Akkino" Shiramine + Agumon + Gabumon:
- Nokia's bio: "Be the change you want to be!" That's the way Nokia, AKA founder of the Rebels, rolls! Her positivity is infamously infectious, having influenced Yuuko's change in confidence.
- Agumon's bio: A Reptile Digimon that has developed the ability to walk on his hind legs, similar to a tiny dinosaur. He may lack strength, but his appetite is insatiable.
- Gabumon's bio: A Reptile Digimon covered by a fur pelt made by data Garurumon leaves behind. However, he is timid and very shy without it.
- Nokia's weapon of choice: A knife
- Agumon's attacks: Pepper Breath (where he spits fireballs at the opponent), BB Burner (where he gathers up Pepper Breaths and spits it out in a gigantic fireball), Battle Hawk (where he manipulates fire and turns them into wings, after which he dives at the foe)
- Gabumon's attacks: Blue Blaster (where he releases a stream of cold flames from his mouth), Drill Horn (where he leaps into the air and jabs with his horn while spinning), Machine Gun Jab (where he rapidly throws punches)
- Nokia's additional notes: Bisexual and DAMN PROUD of it!
- Agumon's additional notes: his favorite food would be meat
- Gabumon's additional notes: a certified vegetarian; his favorite food is lettuce
- Agumon's evolution line: Agumon -> Greymon -> MetalGreymon -> WarGreymon -> Omnimon (with Gabumon)

Arata Sanada + Keramon:
- Arata's bio: He tries to play it cool, but just about everyone knows what he really is; a nerd. He usually speaks in riddles, requiring Keramon to translate.
- Keramon's bio: An unidentified Digimon that evolved from Tsumemon. Thanks to digivolution, his body has gotten bigger, and with his huge mouth, he could presumably eat an ULTIMATE LEVEL in about 5 minutes.
- Arata's weapon of choice: a cannon
- Keramon's attacks: Crazy Giggle (where he spits out an exceptionally powerful bullet of light while cackling), Fool Out (where he emits an unbearable discord), Crazy Smoke (where he blows out smoke infected by a computer virus)
- Arata's additional notes: Still has a little bit of Eater data left in him, and he can channel it into his right arm
- Keramon's additional notes: unusually calm for his species, although some suspect he's hiding something.
- Keramon's evolution line: Keramon -> Devidramon -> Manticoremon -> BlackDeathmon -> Diablomon
- Voices: Aaron Dismuke (Arata), Wilbur Penn (Keramon)

Takumi Aiba + Terriermon:
- Takumi's bio: Ami's little brother! He usually takes things slow because it helps him observe the situation.
- Terriermon's bio: A Beast Digimon who is prized for her adorable looks. Similarly to Annie, she has a "devil-may-care" attitude, and her motto is "Momentai!", meaning "no problem" or "take it easy".
- Takumi's weapon of choice: a laser blade
- Terriermon's attacks: Terrier Tornado (where she spins around, generating a small tornado), Bunny Blast (where she spews out a shot of superheated air), Terrier Slap (where she slaps the enemy with one of her ears)
- Takumi's additional notes: Often encourages his overworked sister to take it easy
- Terriermon's additional notes: she has a pen pal in the form of Henry Wong
- Terriermon's evolution line: Terriermon -> Turuiemon -> Antylamon -> Dianamon -> Jougamon

Chapter 6: HUDIE: Keisuke and Chitose (+ Betamon X and Shakomon X)

Keisuke Amasawa + Betamon X
- Keisuke's bio: A self-proclaimed zero went straight to hero! This accomplished hacker was one of the first to receive the X-Antibody due to Lucemon spreading it through Tokyo.
- Betamon X's bio: An Aquatic Digimon and a carrier of the X-Antibody. Thanks to her luxurious emerald green skin, she continues to be overhunted.
- Keisuke's weapon of choice: Doesn't have any, but many view his hacking skills a weapon in their own right.
- Betamon X's attacks: Dengeki Biririn (Where she generates more than 1 MV of electricity), Dengeki Biririn 185V (same as above but way stronger), Water Tower (where she charges at the foe covered in water)
- Keisuke's additional notes: has nicknamed Betamon X simply just Beta or Beta-Beta
- Betamon X's additional notes: many people have made watermelon jokes out of her thanks to the black lines around her skin making her resemble one
- Betamon X's evolution line: Betamon X -> Seadramon X -> MegaSeadramon X -> GigaSeadramon -> Aegisdramon (with Chitose's Shakomon X)
- Voices: Newton Pittman (Keisuke), Cat Thomas (Betamon X)

Chitose Imai + Shakomon X:
- Chitose's bio: The deputy leader of HUDIE, plus a veteran hacker. Don't even try to think his general foolishness undermines his true nature!
- Shakomon X's bio: A Crustacean Digimon and a carrier of the X-Antibody. He managed to outfit his bivalve shell with jet spray ports in case he needs to ditch the situation at hand.
- Chitose's weapon of choice: Dual-wielded pistols
- Shakomon X's attacks: Black Pearl (where he shoots a ball of jadeite formed within his body), Black Derringer (where he fires from his hidden pistol)
- Chitose's additional notes: he often calls Keisuke "KeiKei"
- Shakomon X's additional notes: he's the biggest rule-inforcer in the DWPS
- Shakomon X's evolution line: Shakomon X -> Tylomon X -> Anomalocarimon X -> Plesiomon X -> Aegisdramon (with Keisuke's Betamon X)

Chapter 7: HUDIE: The Mishima Siblings

Ryuji Mishima + BlackAgumon X:
- Ryuji's bio: Now permanently broken free from Arcadiamon's influence, he's now dead-set to protect his sister at all costs.
- BlackAgumon X's bio: A Reptile Digimon and a carrier of the X-Antibody. Thanks to the X-Antibody's influence, her behavior has become feralized and unhinged.
- Ryuji's weapon of choice: twin sais
- BlackAgumon X's attacks: Pepper Breath (where she spits fireballs from her mouth), BB Burner (where she accumulates Pepper Breaths and spits all of them out in a single go), Hell Bite (where she bites the foe with her mouth on fire)
- Ryuji's additional notes: his BlackAgumon was the first to get the X-Antibody.
- BlackAgumon X's additional notes: thankfully, she restrains herself around her friends.
- BlackAgumon X's evolution line: BlackAgumon X -> BlackGreymon X -> Cyberdramon X -> Justimon X -> Gankoomon X

Erika Mishima + Wormmon:
- Erika's bio: Some may call them a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), but they're WAY more than that. They're a shockingly good fighter when they Biomerge with Wormmon, and they're quite the valuable member of HUDIE.
- Wormmon's bio: A Larva Digimon who strayed into Cyberspace, where he met HUDIE in Kowloon. He's been Erika's proud partner ever since.
- Erika's weapon of choice: none really, she prefers to stay on the sidelines; except of course when she and Wormmon Biomerge
- Wormmon's attacks: Sticky Net (where he spits out a tough, adhesive net), Silk Thread (where he spits out stiff threads that are sharp as a needle)
- Erika's additional notes: Came out as non-binary in 2021
- Wormmon's additional notes: He is the self-proclaimed mascot of HUDIE.
- Wormmon's evolution line: Wormmon -> Hudiemon (with Erika) -> WarpEosmon -> EmpressEosmon -> QueenBeemon

That was the first thing on Lucas' mind after a sudden crashlanding into the DWPS.

- ???: "Welcome, new recruits. I would like to welcome you to the DWPS, short for the Digital World Protection Services."
- ???: "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"
- ???: "Dude, you don't have to be so loud."
- ???: "But you're... Monsters!"
- ???: "Monsters? My, how rude of you. I would like you to know that we aren't exactly 'monsters', but rather, 'DIGITAL monsters'."
- ???: "Yeah, they don't call us Digimon for nothing!"
- ???: "Mirei and Yuuko should be coming soon in order to properly initiate you..."

'Mirei'? 'Digital World Protection Services'?! 'DIGITAL MONSTERS'?! This was all very, very confusing to the poor humans.

- ???: "Ahem."

Everyone snapped to attention at the sudden, mature voice. With her, a stern-looking black-haired girl and a Digimon that appeared to be a reptile with a blade on top of their head appeared.

- ???: "I apologize for the rather... Abrupt interruption to your regular activities. My name is Mirei Mikagura, and I am head researcher for the DWPS. Those cat Digimon you met earlier are my partners, Gatomon and BlackGatomon."
- BlackGatomon: "Salutations."
- Gatomon: "Hi!
- Mirei: "These two are some of the strongest allies we've ever had. Miss Kamishiro, you may introduce yourself."
- Yuuko: "Greetings to all of you! My name's Yuuko, and that's my partner, Zubamon."
- Zubamon: "Charmed to meet y'all."
- Yuuko: "We recruited you because we needed some extra helping hands because of the Eater invasion. Hopefully Luma's gut feelings were right..."
- ???: "Who the HELL is Luma?"
- Yuuko: "They are one of the founders of this group. They're a part of what we call the "Big 4"; major players in protecting both our world and the Digital World."
- Mirei: "Before Luma arrives and assigns you your weapons and partner Digimon, we must get some info out of you. Please, state your names."

One by one, everyone introduced themselves.

- ???: "They call me Lucas. I'm a humongous fan of practically anything RPG related. I'm also... Uh, really loud sometimes, and I'm horrendous at stealth as a result."
- ???: "My name is Melissa, or Millie. I'm a hugger, plain and simple. However, I tend to be really quiet and not speak much... Please remind me if I ever get too quiet."
- ???: "...Ryugo. I hate people. I'm not the kind to actually socialize."
- ???: "I'm Christina. I prefer to take things quick and simple. I'm... Not great at analyzing, hahaha. That's something I gotta work on."
- ???: "Annie's my name, and living life to the fullest is my game. I KNOW I'm gonna die one day, so I'm gonna try completing EVERYTHING on my bucket list before I inevitably kick it."
- ???: "I'm Sam. I love making others laugh; my class has acknowledged me as 'most likely to be a successful comedian'! I'm also a skillful rambler."
- Mirei: "Thank you. Perfect timing, Luma is about to arrive."

And just like that, a tall man with a small, purple Digimon entered the area.

- ???: "New recruits, huh? Good, we could always use some fresh meat."
- ???: "Gumdramon, be nice. Ahem... Welcome, everyone. My name is Lumaeus, official leader of the DWPS. Our services strive to provide diligent protection for both our world and the Digital World, and we are needed more than ever because of the recent Eater re-invasion. My partner, as you can see, is Gumdramon."
- Gumdramon: "Wassup?"
- Lumaeus: "Shall we get started, now?"
- Lucas: "I mean, I'm up for it."
- Melissa: "Definitely!"
- Ryugo: "Eh."
- Christina: "Sure, sure."
- Annie: "HELL yeah."
- Sam: "Yes!"
- Lumaeus: "Alright, you 6, come on out!"

At Luma's call, a dinosaur in military armor carrying a gun, a small fairy, a black-and-red dinosaur, a garishly colored reptile, a red dragon carrying a microphone, and a feminine-looking silver fox appeared.

- Lumaeus: "These six shall be your partners for as long as you are in the DWPS. Lucas, your partner shall be the Infantry Digimon, Commandramon."
- Commandramon: "Ready for action, Lucas SIR!"
- Lumaeus: "In case you feel the need to fight back, we have provided you with a spear."
- Lucas: "I'll take it. What's up, lil' buddy?"

Lucas reached out his hand to Commandramon. The dinosaur immediately put her head under it, wanting to be pet.

- Lucas: "You want a head scratch? How about this?"
- Commandramon: "Ooh, that's the spot!"
- Lumaeus: "Melissa, your partner shall be Kazemon. I warn you, though, she's quite belligerent."
- Melissa: "Kazemon, hey... Hi there!"
- Kazemon: "Meh. Okay, fine. Hi."
- Lumaeus: "Your weapon is right there, Melissa."
- Melissa: "No thanks, I prefer using my fists as a weapon."
- Lumaeus: "Hmm, interesting."
- Kazemon: "Ha, you use your fists? I like your style."

Kazemon smirks and offers her hand for a handshake. Instead, Melissa hugs her.

- Kazemon: "Whuh- HEY! Hands off! I don't like being hugged!"
- Melissa: "You... Don't? I'm so sorry! I'll try to remember that..."
- Kazemon: "Thanks, dude."
- Lumaeus: "Ryugo, meet your partner; BlackGuilmon."
- BlackGuilmon: "YO! What's up, man?"
- Ryugo: "Tch."
- BlackGuilmon: "Jeez, man, what's with THAT attitude?"
- Lumaeus: "It appears that's just the way he is."
- Ryugo: "I'll take that."

Ryugo takes the sword on the table.

- BlackGuilmon: "C'mon man, that's STEALING!"
- Lumaeus: "It's fine. The sword was intended for him anyway. Moving on... Christina, we have assigned you Psychemon."
- Psychemon: "Hell-OOOOOOOOO, new partner~! 'Tis wonderful to meet you, Christina! I simply cannot WAIT to be your new friend! Oh, what FUN we'll have!"
- Christina: "Um, hi."
- Psychemon: "Forgive my over-the-top nature; that's just the way I am, honey! No shame in that!"
- Christina: "I really like your colors."
- Psychemon: "Aaaah, thank you! I chose them to ward away predators, but I'm utterly DELIGHTED to know someone likes them!"
- Christina: "Hold on, are those bombs supposed to be mine?"
- Lumaeus: "Yes indeed."
- Christina: "Oh, cool!"

Christina and Psychemon start interacting with each other. Meanwhile, Lumaeus shifts their attention to Annie.

- Lumaeus: "Annie, this is your partner, Shoutmon. She's quite the rebel."
- Shoutmon: "Ayooooo! What's up, Annie?! I'm gonna be your partner now! Trust me, we're gonna like each other!"
- Annie: "Nice to meet you, buddy."
- Shoutmon: "That warhammer over there is yours, by the way. I'd say it suits ya!"
- Annie: "Niiiiice."
- Lumaeus: "And finally, Sam, your partner shall be Renamon... Hang on."

What was once a silver fox is now a Numemon.

- Sam: "A Numemon?"
- Lumaeus: "Renamoooon...."

The Numemon grins and deactivates the Fox Switch Deception, revealing Sam's real partner.

- Lumaeus: "Much better."
- Renamon: "Aloha, Sam!"
- Sam: "You're a GUY?!"
- Renamon: "Eeyup, I'm a guy."
- Sam: "O...kaaaaay. That was a damn good trick you played on me, though."
- Renamon: "Hey, thanks! I worked very hard on it..."

Just then, a loud screech interrupts Renamon. An Eater appears soon afterwards.

- Renamon: "Motherfucker! Eater attack!"

Everyone gets ready for battle. Sam grabs the crossbow on the table and starts shooting at the Eater.

- Yuuko: "Zubamon, let's do this!"
- Zubamon: "On it!"

Yuuko whips out a strange device and holds it up into the air.

- Yuuko: "Synergy Evolution... Energize!"

Zubamon began to change when the light surrounded it.

- Zubamon: "Zubamon, Synergy Evolve to...."
- Singers: "🎵 Let your sparks fly! It's a dead heat!🎵"
(Zubamon switches from bipedal to quadrupedal)
- Singers: "🎵 Don't let your guard down! It's a danger zone! Burn up! (BURN UP!) Your spirits! (YOUR SPIRITS!) Hotter! (HOTTER!)🎵"
(Zubamon's tail sharpens into a blade)
- Singers: "🎵 I'll shout it out loud! You're feeling like a Superstar! Let's settle it in a dash, like it's Hunting Time!🎵"
(Zubamon's teeth grow sharper)
- Singers: "🎵 It's overflowing! My power! Boiling Power!🎵"
(ZubaEagermon erupts from the light ball that hid her during evolution, and she rears up, followed by a roar)
- ZubaEagermon: "ZUBAEAGERMON! HRRAHH!"

ZubaEagermon appeared in the spot Zubamon once appeared in.

- ZubaEagermon: "Let the games begin."
