Chapter Text
Due to their busy schedules, Hannibal, Jamie, and Will haven't been in touch for a few weeks. Jamie left to help the Autobots fight Decepticons. Jamie informed Jack Crawford of an unforeseen issue. She didn't think she'd be gone for a couple of weeks. When Jamie returns, Will is working on a new case, and Hannibal is busy helping him or busy with appointments. Due to scheduling conflicts, Jack excluded Jamie despite her usual collaboration with Will. Will didn't fight the decision, either. Believing he wouldn't be able to bring Jamie up to speed. Jamie tried to get Hannibal and Will to come to her house later in the evening, but neither answered their phones. This persisted all week; the men seemed to forget their friendship with Jamie. Due to Jamie's anxiety, her mind thinks they don't want to be her friend. That she must have done something wrong. She feels like Hannibal and Will are alienating her.
Hannibal sits at his desk, filling out the last few notes for his last appointment of the week, when he gets a call from Will. Will's conversation reveals concern over a joint mistake. Initially, Hannibal believed Will was referring to the case; however, Will was discussing their neglect of Jamie throughout the week. Now, Hannibal realizes the mistake, knowing Jamie's mind is thinking the worst.
"We must proceed to her home immediately," Hannibal urges.
He ends the call, grabs his coat, and rushes out of his office.
The two drive to Jamie's house but don't see her motorcycle in the driveway. They meet each other on the steps.
"She's not home; this isn't good," Will worries.
"We need to find her," Hannibal thinks of where Jamie could have gone. "Her favorite park that's in DC."
The two rush to their cars and drive off.
"They don't like me," Jamie mutters as she sits on the park bench by the duck pond. Tears roll down her face.
Hannibal and Will run towards the duck pond. They are relieved to see Jamie sitting on the bench, but they hear her crying the closer they get.
"You need a tissue?" Will asks as he and Hannibal sit on the bench.
Hannibal gets a tissue from his pocket and wipes Jamie's eyes before both men hug her. Silence hangs heavy as Hannibal and Will consider what to say. They know that to anyone else, Jamie is being ridiculous, but they know that due to her anxiety, her mind overthinks. Hannibal moves Jamie onto his lap to hug her. Jamie leans on him.
"You're ok," Hannibal assures her.
"We didn't mean to ignore you."
Will holds Jamie's hand. Both think this is why Jamie needs to let Hannibal help her as her psychiatrist, but she refuses. They sit in silence, hoping their presence soothes Jamie.
