Chapter Text
Pale pink roses trimmed with gold caught Elphaba’s eye as she hurried home in the evening. She was running late, but the bouquet made her pause. It was stunning.
Just like someone else she knew. Someone who would light up when she saw them. She paid the vendor who wrapped the bouquet in silver paper and secured it with a soft white ribbon. The roses glimmered in the lamplight as she walked up the front steps.
Large, brown eyes immediately locked onto the arrangement when she entered. Unbridled joy etched across her face and she flew into her open arms.
