Summary:

Buck takes on dating again after a terrible break up from Taylor it's been 6 months now everyone went back to work. Then he realizes dating would be worth it after all maybe he can find someone to love and nature. Ravi has had a crush on Buck since he first started B shift at the 118. He can to enjoy the house and everyone in it including Buck. What happens when depressed Ravi and a love struck Buck meet while an arranged marriage and a healing journey awaits them. Can they find each other in a sea of forbidden love and golden happiness.

Chapter 1: Do you see me?

The morning shines in Buck's apartment, and he rises up from his bed walking down to the kitchen turns on his coffee waiting for his alarm to go off so he can head in to work. When he gets ready to leave reality for him sets in Taylor is not there to greet him or wish him dead through out the day. It was unsettling to remember the break up and how she left him what said to him last was awful. *you are a waste of energy Buckley you cant love anyone really your not driven how about go back to the old you and then we can talk maybe kill yourself on the way there*. Waste of energy, how exactly was he a waste of energy for not wanting sex every minute of every second. He gets that thought out of his head and leaves for work.

Walking into the firehouse Ravi was reminded of how Bobby cooks for the 118 A and B shift house and he was with A shift now Bobby had room for one more since he was his captain was a man over. The smell of pancakes and eggs reached his nose all he could do was inhale the scent. He was reminded of how his sister would cook for him all the time.

Being in LA made Ravi feel free compared to being with his parents in India only their upcoming visit was a nightmare and this time he wasn't going to be able to escape it. He walks up the stairs and bumps into Buck by accident *ouch* "Sorry B-Buck", "No its my fault I didn't see you Ravi" said Buck as he walked up the stairs. Ravi's thinks *He's so cute, I really want to tell him but-*, he follows after Buck and sees a seat next to him but Eddie takes it Ravi *sighs* and sits next to chim instead.

Bobby "alright everyone today we are having breakfast with eggs a walla dig in" and so they do Eddie side eyes Buck and says "so you and Taylor bummer did you break up or did she", Buck goes into a moment of silence "she did I just was glad it was over in some way". Hen takes a bite of her waffle and says "why did she even want too you guys were doing great" "she said I was a waste of space and that I needed to go back to the old me" still Buck takes a soft *sigh* Bobby takes note of what was said "Buck you don't need to change for anyone you have grown so much since you first arrived here and we are happy for you Taylor just wasn't the one and you can find someone new that will love you regardless". 

Buck thinks to himself more his crew was there for him and didn't judge him either he loved Bobby reminds him of a father figure he never really had. "Thanks bobby I'm glad you guys understand". Bobby says "well you can sit the firefighter ball out if you need to Buck" Buck almost forgot about the ball and thinks *maybe a date wouldn't hurt too much right* Ravi stares at Buck for a minute and looks back down. 

Buck notices that Ravi is playing with his food and decides to change the subject. Finally he says "So Ravi your on A shift now 6 of us I bet it's a little upsetting for you not to be around Lucy in the evening I know your guys are friends". Ravi still looking down at his plate of food and looks up at everyone staring at him. "Oh yea I love it here we still talk every now and then its pretty nice I'm glad to be here with you guys cant wait to see what your shift is like too". Buck smiles at and for some reason his heart flutters but he puts it to the side looking over at chim who's eating too fast and stuffs more into his mouth.

The alarm goes off *WOO* *WOO*. Bobby stands up "alright guys I guess lunch will have to wait until later let's go". Responding to a call about a girl trapped in quicksand from the mud slide that tore the apartment complex in two. Bobby "alright buck I need you to rope off that car it could fall down any moment, Eddie make sure the patient remains calm as she can don't want her sinking any deeper, Chim, Ravi and Hen figure out how to cut power to that land line and bring that furniture down that could be helpful". Chimney says "Cap what if we cable her off and pull her out slowly" says Hen "no that's too much pressure on her waist could cut her in half if we're not careful enough". Ravi seems to be in thought about the girl trapped when he remembers something, "guys what if we make a walk way with the furniture using the cables it could work she climbs on the furniture while we pull". Bobby "Ravi's right that could work let's do it".

They start putting the furniture on top of the next making a pathway throwing the cable over Julia, Bobby "ALRIGHT, Julia are you ready" he says watching everyone prepare to pull Julia nods saying"YES"
"OKAY PULL SLOWLY EVERYONE" says Bobby they pull watching Julia get on top of the furniture and coming towards them. 

Finally with all her strength she reaches the team. Eddie prepares a trauma kit and they get her vitals taking her in the ambulance. The shift was already long Ravi just wanted go home and crawl in despair his parents were coming on the 3rd of March and dealing with them would take all his energy.

The day at the house was ending and Buck couldn’t stop thinking about Ravi it was like his heart could stop at any minute. Buck sees Ravi about to exit he cant help but think that he doesn’t have a date to the ball really so why not ask Ravi. He only ever really explored his sexuality once or three times even the only person that knows is Eddie. 

Ravi was about to walk out the door when Buck had stopped him and says "R-Ravi I um, was wondering well if you wanted to you can say no if-" Ravi stops Buck with a stare of *get on with it but I’m not in a hurry* "Buck, actually I was going to ask you something too". They both go silent for a moment and they look at each other Ravi wanted to speak so did Buck neither could find the words until Buck asked “Do-o you um have a date to the firefighter ball I mean I don’t know if you are I would never pry you can tell me to piss the he-“.

Ravi stops him with a shhh “actually I was going to ask you the same thing I just didn't think you um would be interested”. Buck blushes and it’s clear as day for Ravi to notice he leans against the truck and smiles then says “Yes umm I-I can pick you up at 7pm the ball starts at 9pm. Maybe this was a good thing and he can connect with someone that is friendly and willing to be around plus Ravi was crazy adorable even when he’s nervous. 

They exchange numbers and head home although Hen was already suspicious when they met up but she finally caved in and went to her car. Chim waves her goodbye and goes to pick up jee from daycare because Maddie had forgot to get her and pick her allergic medicine. Eddie had packed his things up and said goodbye going to pick up Chris from Carla’s house. 

Buck finally collapse onto his bed and heads straight to the shower when steps out his phone dings a message from Ravi *Hey Buck* he smiles and replies back to him *Hey Ravi how are you did you finally get a glance at A shift*. Ravi looks at the message and laughs he thinks for a moment *the shift was a little more than expected but similar to B shift it wasn’t that bad*. He combs over his screen and types again *I’m doing fine how are you doing um do you think your moving quick with asking me to the ball or-*. 

Buck scans his phone and the message Ravi sent he realized it was quick but Taylor was the biggest mistake of his dating life although he wanted to say the other word he had respect in his mind. He replies back to him and explains that he wanted something that wasn’t toxic or undermined asking him out broke the lonely feeling he had every day he felt with Taylor the feeling that he was nothing. Ravi’s heart swells and accepted that he too wanted something someone that understood him but also wanted to know the feeling of a healed heart. 

A yawn escapes his lips and he knew sleep was calling his name so he sends a text to Buck *I think sleep is becoming my enemy right now Buck goodnight I’ll see you in the morning”. Buck sees the message and says “goodnight Ravi I’ll see you tomorrow”. Buck plants himself in his bed and covers himself sleep taking them both. Their phones are shockingly still on for once the day was actually sweet and smelled of honey they rested in each other’s comfort from a distance. 

 

 

 

Chapter 2: Talking To A Knight in Armor

Summary:

The team respond to a cave incident and explosions fly Buck and Ravi get trapped inside

The sun peeks through Ravi's window and shines in his face. He wakes and stretches like he was asleep for eternity. Stepping into his cozy shoes he goes to the kitchen to fix coffee before his morning shift. Since being on the a shift for 118 it's been more sweeter he thinks of this as he drinks his coffee. The uniform was laid out ahead of time that way there was no rushing to get dressed. At 7:30am he's ready to take on the day. He remembers he has to take the bus unfortunately his car needed repair an accident but thankfully he had insurance. Buck stares at the wall of his apartment getting up and looking for a coffee mug he sits in silence reads his phone a text from Ravi appears he smiles as he reads it. *hey buck, thank you for staying up with me last night it was nice see you at work"* Buck smiles and replies to him placing his phone in his pocket. Buck closes his door and locks it leaving for work he listen to his favorite podcast mermen and earth. He hums a tune and drives along the path looking over to cross he sees Ravi at a bus station he drives to the side and parks getting out.

Ravi looks tired like he has been waiting for the bus all morning. Buck calls over to Ravi "RAVI, what are you doing here" he sees that Ravi has earbuds in and can't hear him so he taps his shoulder. A jump of fright peers over Ravi's face and he turns to see buck "BUCK, I- I uh hi sorry you scared me for a sec but I guess having these things on isn't good either" Buck tilts his head at Ravi who is looking down placing his earbuds in their case. He finally speaks "yea yes sorry I didn't mean to startle you" "Hey you need a ride to work I can take you if you need me".

Ravi is gasped by the offer and says "Yes dude yes my car is in the shop for the week so I had no choice I was going to ask you or ,Bobby or Chim even Athena but I didn't want to bother anyone so you mind". Ravi looks down and fidgets with his earbuds Buck pats him head and says "no I don't mind at all not at all" he gestures for Ravi to come along. He gets in the car with Buck and they drive to work. They arrive at the 118 and get ready for the day that lies ahead. Hen notices them laughing and talking she bats an eye at Chim saying "how did Ravi and Buck become friends over night" Chim looks over at Eddie and says "idk maybe they have the same personality ha". Eddie is on his phone barely looking up but hearing what is being said he looks at Bobby who is cooking and mutters *yea probably forgot he made plans*.

Hen and Chin look at him and bat their eyes. Buck peers at them and says "Ravi needed a ride his car was in the shop I say him at the bus stop on the way to work so I offered him a ride" Ravi smirks at him and places his things in his locker. He notices Buck behind him "yea Buck was just helping me out my car is in the shop this week some guy crashed into me this week" "are you okay" Hen says looking down at her phone. Ravi fidgets with his shirt placing his wallet away "yea I'm fine my car just took all damage thanks for insurance I'm getting it fixed".

Chim walks over to the kitchen to get what was left of the spaghetti that Bobby made "well the good news is your okay and what kinda of insurance you have my car has been totally out of whack for a few days now" placing a full load of spaghetti sauce on his plate sitting down. Eddie asks the same question then tells them what Chris said about dolphins "he really was serious about the water this time guys" they all laugh and get ready for their shift. The bell rings and they pack up getting in the fire engine heading to call about a person lost in a cave.

Bobby says, "alright everyone thank you for coming we have a patient named Trevor stuck out in theses crystal caves you all need to be with each other make sure no one gets lost tie yourselves to one another, we will all spilt into three to look for Trevor you all have you're comms please use them to stay in contact don't wander off from each other if something happens don't be afraid rescue teams are all around the spanning area". They spilt into their groups Eddie, Bobby, Chim go the left while Ravi, Buck, Hen go to the right of the cave and the rest of the fighters follow.

These caves are formed very beautifully and have crystals along them who wouldn't want to be in there maybe someone got lost trying to mine the crystals. Ravi looks at them in awe and almost trips when Buck catches him and says "be careful okay" Ravi nods and brushes himself off they continue Hen is watching the line as they almost reach the patient that's injured and spots Buck looking over at the crystals too. Hen clears her throat and says "I can see why someone would come in here now these caves are beautiful the crystals alone have to be worth a lot too bad this guy got lost in here".

Buck is heading up when he sees Bobby the cave must've connect together at the end Bobby, and the group are all in one spot now. Buck notices a crystals that sparkles and has a bit pink to it he looks it over once more and gets his knife plucking the medium crystal out and Bobby yells at him to hurry up. Buck runs after them and says "come on cap I had to get one these crystals this one really stood out and hey do you guys think crystals are a good gift for someone". Bobby looks at Buck curiously "find someone new Buck" Buck stares at the crystals "yea maybe I think" They walk until the reach the signal of their patient comms *(bing) (bing) (bing).

Closing in the realize their patient is probably buried but not too deep alright everyone start calling Trevor" "TREVOR" they all scream his name and then a thump in the left corner. Quickly pulling out Trevor from his burial tomb they check him out and travel back out the end of the cave. Once at the end a quake apparently Trevor had done something extremely idiotic back there got more than he bargained. "What was that" Hen peers over her shoulder "I might've done a little more than anticipated" "Trevor what do you mean" he tells them to look in his bag and they find C4 he says he planted them and they really weren't supposed to go off until 3 hours later he supposed to be out by now.

Bobby mind races "EVERYONE WE NEED TO MOVE NOW" They all rush fast their feet can take them they reached the exit but it quakes. Jumping as fast as they can the feeling of making it was all the needed or did they? Bobby comes into the clear "everyone accounted for is everyone here" Chim brushes himself off and notices Hen and Eddie, Trevor on the surface but notices something off.

"Where's Buck and Ravi" they turn around and look at the closed cave Bobby tumbles over for moment *shit*.

Chapter 3: Shine a light in the dark

Summary:

Trapped in a crystal cave with a panic struck Ravi was not what Buck had imagined but they make it through I mean it’s prettier in the light

Buck wakes with a pain in his stomach at first he searches around using his flashlight scanning the dark area. He sees that the cave entrance closed in on them, hearing a groan over the side Ravi is knocked out, getting up rushing to his side. Buck puts his head to Ravi’s chest feeling the rise and fall was a good sign he remembers he has a pocket of water on him, so he sits Ravi up and makes him sip. Ravi *coughs* and jumps up immediately smacking buck in the face *oww* “WHAT HAPPENED WHERE ARE WE” , Buck looks around and then he sees the light shining from the crystals “still in the cave it collapsed on us seems the back way didn’t get a lot of damage we can still probably walk out just be careful”. Then a shock, some type of wind was knocked out of Ravi’s body he started to wheeze and hyperventilate.

Knowing what to do Buck moved his hand to Ravi’s back calming him “Just breath come on, in and out right yea it’s going to be okay alright” Ravi takes a minute and finally relaxes sips some water from Buck pocket pack. He stands up and gets a sense of the cave taking Buck’s light shining it on the crystals he notices the water on some line of it there are trail marks which mean they can get back out. They walk and walk Buck notices that Ravi stares at the crystals more fascinated by them he takes the one he carved out and shows it to him Ravi looks at it and tell buck he loves pink shares that even his nighttime clothes are pink they share a laugh.

Buck shares to Ravi he always wanted pink overalls to wear a casual look from most of what he wears than normal. As they walk they share their dislikes and likes have a debate about pineapple pizza and mushroom pizza the taste and the smell. Explaining how they both like green lime cake and it’s pretty on a royal plate setting or the fact they both crave mango smoothies when dieting.

The list could go on all day but as they walked they couldn’t see much of anything so they stopped. Buck tried to use his flashlight again and nothing happens Ravi in all the darkness grabs onto Buck’s shirt from behind cause he doesn’t want to lose track of him. His face gets goosebumps and a little red shown upon his face but only he can tell, so they walk on and finally stop to rest saying how the crew would find them soon. The cave seems so far and wide the way out but all they could was hope their voices were heard. 

Bobby tells them to hurry as they get the back entrance of the cave cleared so they can bring Buck and Ravi out an hour into the digging they see the cave is finally opened they journey into the tunnel.

Ravi tells Buck to try his flash light again and when he does blue sparkles fill their eyes and the breath that escapes them only creates more wonderful beauty. Bioluminescence right there in the cave all the water from the open river must’ve creeped into the cracks and formed looking around Ravi used the moss from the stalagmite and used the blue goo to form a light. A smile of excitement waits over Buck’s face he grabs the rock from Ravi and they go deeper down the cave. Bobby starts to hear a voice it was soft but noticeable he recognized it as Ravi then he heard a scream definitely sound like Buck “SHITTT” *yep that’s Buck*. A big fucking spider was on the wall and crept into a crawl area disappearing from their view Ravi laughs at him amused he let it slide. 

He turns around and tells the group that they’re close to Buck and Ravi ahead of them keeping their pace calling their names as they walked “BUCK, RAVI YOU GUYS OKAY”. Stepping over the rubble Buck hears Bobby calling he turns over to Ravi who is still holding onto his shirt “I hear Bobby he’s gotta be ahead of us”, he didn’t mind that Ravi was holding to him so he grabs his hand instead and runs to the voice. “BOBBY , BOBBY WE’RE HERE” the blue goo goes out but a flashlight shines on both their faces they notice still holding hands huh but for some reason it’s comforting. As the rubble being moveable Hen tells them they can move them out of the way as more fighters come in to help. 

The last of the rocks cleared away finally free they walk to Bobby and get checked over the cave was kinda destroyed but still not safe waiting in the ambulance Ravi takes the rock that Buck gave him Hen glances at it “pretty crystals looks like mix of a rose quartz and a pearl that’s definitely worth some money Ravi” , he looks at the rock and notices how pretty it is but then he shakes his head “yea but it would look great on my desk”. Hen removes the blood pressure cuff from his arm saying he’s clear to go she cant help but feel like something went on between Ravi and Buck but her radar was always positive. 

Eddie stares at Buck he feels like he’s being left out of something but doesn’t want to pry when Ravi walks over to the others he walks over to Buck and “hey I'm glad your okay man soooo you seem to be more happy Ravi is okay” Buck tilts his head and his hands folding over the other “yeah of course I mean why wouldn’t I-I be come on the group is waiting”. Picking up on the gesture Eddie jogs after him giving him a nudge on the shoulder and then he shakes his head “look I know Taylor has been out for a while 6 months isn’t long but maybe you can try something different *coughs* someone different gesturing over to Ravi. His relationship with Taylor wasn’t the best matter a fact it was awful he hated every minute of it and her on account of how she treated him when they were together. Shrugging he realizes that maybe it wouldn’t be bad “I get that but your right it beats moping at the loft being disappointed and coming home with even more thoughts than the last”. 

Before he joins the others Eddie taps him again on the wrist “give it a shot and see what happens hey maybe Ravi will stick around you never know man look at me and John” he smirks at that Eddie and John found each other through Tommy unfortunately Tommy was not a good person to Eddie in the end. Tommy wasn’t abusive just not caring enough in Eddie and Christopher’s life his love for Eddie became shallow and unfaithful. Maybe he needed this smiling and looking down then at Ravi “yea but this time I want to take it slow if I can”. 

They join the group and head back to the station realizing that they almost died together was enough to make anyone jump into love quickly but Ravi and Buck had a lot in common. He packs up and so does the team heading home for the day. 

Being almost dead can make anyone love struck but there’s something in his mind that peers around the corner. *would Ravi accept him with all his flaws and truths*. 

 

 

Chapter 4: Saturday Plans & Fluff

Summary:

Moving on was going to mean learning how to love someone again for Buck the love part wasn’t easy but maybe Ravi can place in it his heart once more putting their chemistry to the test in the crystals cave was a wake call up even for Ravi as he navigates his love life as well but the struggles that come with strict and hard parents seem to much to bare

As Forbidden love follow them both in a countless rest for approval

Night smooths over as the moon appears through Ravi’s apartment he opened his windows to let some real fresh air into the place grabbing a book *Welcome to the Space Frontier * he was actually reading again in what felt like months. Nestled on his couch curled and warm listening to soft music he reads and reads until realizing it’s -8pm- on his clock so he marks where the pages fell placing the book away. Grabbing his phone he forgot silent mode was still on no vibrations, no ringing and 4 unread messages from Buck he was shocked, and embarrassed he didn’t want Buck to think he was asleep so he started to text back. 

Buck : hey Ravi are you free Saturday -6pm 

Buck : if you are well I was hoping to do something fun or active I asked everyone else they’re busy -6:45pm

Buck : but it’s totally up to you -7pm 

Buck : you can pick the idea I was going to just say game night -7:20pm

Ravi wonders what to say as to he thought of skating or a picnic but he thinks of something sweet like dessert so he looks around for a dessert cafe in the area. He gets nervous to even ask Buck but the heart in his chest blushes he replies asking if he had a sweet tooth laughing suggesting they go on an ice cream hunt. Buck is lying on his bed and texting Ravi made him feel full like a whole was filled although he might’ve been a little persistent with the messages hopefully Ravi didn't mind. Explaining that he was reading and forgot his phone was on silent that he wasn’t trying to ignore the messages that Buck was sending. 

Watching the three dots on his phone go back and forth waiting for Buck to respond closing the window and curtains to his apartment breathing a sigh of relief. Then a *Bing* from his phone practically running over and reading the message a swallow of noise only rings. 

Buck : No your fine I would love to go ice cream hunting with you how does 11am sound 

Hoping for joy and really wanting to scream so loud the whole apartment complex will hear him settling on his bed responding back *yeah totally I’ll see you tomorrow Bobby mentioned it would be a little rough the weather would cause some black outs. Buck almost forgot the weather would be disastrous for some part of the day but he swallows telling Ravi everything will be fine and they could talk about Saturday plans tomorrow too after shift. 

Planting his face in his pillow Buck takes a breath *this should be fun going on a desert date with Ravi hopefully the crew doesn’t catch on* texting Ravi once more telling him good night and that he would pick up again but doing something never before he asks for Ravi’s address instead. Agreeing and saying he doesn’t mind picking him up Ravi gets excited sending emojis *☺️👍🏽* it was cute Buck could tell Ravi was nervous around him maybe this Saturday plan can be what they both need to get more in touch. 

Facing his window looking at the moon Ravi drifts in and out until he goes to sleep and noticing that he text his going on and on Buck suggest that Ravi was asleep. So placing the phone on the charging he tucks into bed. 

- The next morning - 

It was Friday and finally close to Saturday the morning he woke Buck got a call from Athena asking about cooking sunday with Bobby for May’s graduation party because she liked his baking. Buck agreed and said he would anything for May just that he needs some time Saturaday to prepare telling her that Ravi and He were going out for ice cream.

Athena understood and cared that Buck didnt want to tell anyone at the moment about where he was standing when it came to dating again plus it became know that Athena liked Ravi and suggested he would be a good fit for Buck. Listening and having to leave for work he tells her they would talk later asking what she would want for May’s graduation party as far as desserts. 

Athena: cupcakes maybe or a cake would be nice what ever you come up with Buck surprise me alright I have to go as well some people have no decency today ill talk to you later Buckaroo 🍓💛. 

He texts her back and places his phone in his pocket rushing out the door he accidentally spills coffee on himself *ack*. Heading to his car and placing his bag inside he starts to drive towards Ravi’s house parking in the driveway hearing voices inside the house noticing the door is half way opened. Stepping inside looking around he closes the door and locks it then walks around he sees the backyard there’s a pretty courtyard garden with a big tree wrapped around it is a brick layout it’s beautiful really pink flowers and bushes of green more flowers even seeing Ravi. By the tree saying *I need to hurry up Buck will be here soon come on Luna come down please*. 

Walking behind Ravi he realizes it will scary him come on he left his front door opened this opportunity was very priceless tapping on his shoulder calling his name *EEP* Ravi jumps and turns around finally noticing Buck is in his house.

Tilting his head “hey you know leaving your door cracked is very dangerous you know” his heart thumps and he feels shy “Buck sorry you uhh scared me yeah I forgot thanks for closing it as you can see I am having a small situation”. He sees the cat very pretty black and white coat with heterochromia eyes her collar black with her name on the trinket she’s pretty giving Ravi a smile he knows what to do “your cat is adorable here let me” he walks up and climbs the tree calling to the cat in a whisper a small trick he learned while saving the many cats on duty.

She comes down from the tree and shocked to grateful “Thank you she’s so stubborn sometimes come on ill close the backyard she already has food and water for the day” putting the cat on the floor she plays with her toys and goes to her small hut. He grabs his keys and tells Buck he is ready to go “you have a beautiful house I love the backyard your garden it’s magic” “thanks Buck you should come over more Luna seems to like you as Luna rubs up at his leg. Soft eyes are on Buck they go silent for a moment “yea maybe I should uuuhh come on let’s go dont want to be late Bobby will never let it go” “okay sure ill lock the door”. 

12 minutes later they arrive at the fire house and the day begins 

Time skip ( A patient named Anderson is trapped in his car due to a light pole falling on it the rain is increasing)

”Okay we need to cut the power to this thing and get the jaws of life Buck, Eddie I need you both to rock the car out the way when we do this cant let it go side ways from that light pole we’ve got a few minutes and this car will get hot soon”

“Ravi go cut the power to this pole and meet back here Hen and Chim stand by” Ravi runs over to the electrical box and snips the power connector stopping the power from surging running back he tells them the power seems to be automatic the electricians said they’ve probably got 12 minutes top. Buck and Eddie start rocking the car and then they all push it far away from the light pole Bobby has the jaws of life clamped onto the car’s front ripping the front of the car door apart. 

After that is done they reach an unresponsive Anderson noticing he has third degree burns they can’t ice him they can only IV and CPR Anderson until they get a clear pulse. “Cap he’s back we gotta move him quick” the rain becomes more intense as they run to the ambulance placing Anderson in and finally leaving the route to the hospital was close. Getting Anderson out the nurses and doctors take him from there they all sigh a relief heading to another accident. 

For some reason the day wasn’t as chaotic but it seemed to be how ever in the truck Chim takes more notice of Buck who is smiling like crazy at Ravi while they head to another accident he nudges Hen and she glances at them both but doesn’t say anything. The storm began to smooth over some as accident after accident appears at the end of the day Eddie peers at Buck who is getting his stuff out of his locker for the day. He had been seeing Ravi and him coming to work everyday so why not ask him “sooo you and Ravi seem to be getting along with each other from what I take it” “I mean close even more since the cave” hitting like a small slap *yea I do like Ravi but maybe they’ve all taken notice*. 

He clears his throat “what can I say he’s growing on me but actually I picked him from his place today his car was still in the shop” Eddie looks at him with a gleam in his eyes and looking back at his items in his locker he zips his bag up and tosses over his shoulder “just saying maybe this can work out for you and him but Buck dont let what Taylor did affect you open your heart more bye I gotta get Chris see you tomorrow lover boy”. 

Sticking his tongue out at Eddie he rushes over to Bobby who is packing things away “Bobby hey I wanted to ask you well I was gonna ask Athena but your here instead uuuuh what cupcakes would taste good for May’s graduation party’. He picks up some leftovers that were in the fridge since he would be making burgers tonight “May loves red velvet deserts that’s her favorite I think she would be happy with that flavor Buck”. 

Typing it in his phone to remember he nods looking over at Chim and Hen who are giving *I know your secret faces in his direction* he lifts one eyebrow and flies down the steps looking for Ravi. 

Ravi taking his bag and zipping it up for the day he sees Buck walking toward him *dammit what is wrong with me stop it heart STOP IT*. Blushing hard and wide Buck is able to see it this time he looks at him asking what he was going to wear for tomorrow. Ravi looks nervous and says he doesn’t know yet but he will know once he gets home they walk to Buck’s car together. His face speaks more volumes the car ride was actually warm and it felt safe they talked and talked finally arriving to Ravi’s house. Stepping out of the car but forgetting to say something 

“My car will be fixed tomorrow maybe I can meet up at your place” almost sad not really wanting the car rides with Ravi to end “that’s great umm I’ll text you my address see you in the morning and try to get some sleep” Ravi nods heading inside his home he waves and sighs a little the drive home was frantic *I need this to go right it needs to be perfect* the night reveals itself in his apartment he lays in his bed trying to drift off to sleep.

Closing his eyes but something was keeping him awake *WHAT THE FUCK DO I WEAR* 

 

 

 

Chapter 5: Ice Cream & Stormed In

Summary:

Buck and Ravi have free Saturday together but panic and anxiety strike them both at night when they are trapped in Ravi’s new home.

Another Storm hits LA forcing everyone inside taking cover can they swallow their fear and finally talk about this sudden attraction

Writers note :3 Alright everyone sorry took me so long I have been working on my own comic haven’t been focused lately ;) I am writing new chapters and posting them this week stay tuned thank you for reading

Saturday came quick enough for Buck all he had to do was figure out what to wear even though this wasn’t a date he was still out with Ravi and wanted to look presentable. White shirt with black polka dots and gray pants not bad ,but his white shoes weren’t an option so he went for his gray sneakers having the little things out the way he locks his front door leaving to meet Ravi. Knowing that Ravi’s new house was 15 miles from the city and it was located in the country side he wanted to give him some extra time to get to the ice cream shop. The mention of Ravi’s new house wasn’t new to Buck he even saw the inside it was beautiful flowers alongside the home but also a huge tree in backyard almost like before but this one was more ethereal feeling the yard spans across with pink flowers and a different variety but a fountain in the middle with fresh water streaming down. 

Inside was giving earthy vibes but the whole layout was adoring. A big living room and kitchen that connected into each other but the bedrooms were also stunning there was a reading room as well. Ravi even asked if he could come set up some of his furniture which Buck was excited to help on. Then a text comes through on his phone 

Ravi: *Be in there in 9 minutes movers finally brought my furniture in um save a spot for me please 🫶🏽*

texting him back he said yes of course cant wait and places his phone in his pocket going inside the ice cream place “Hokey Pokey” sweet and cute right. 

He starts looking at the menu above not knowing what ice cream Ravi likes he waits for him instead. Ravi rushes inside and looks for buck “Ravi over here” “Buck hi sorry it took me so long” smiling at him Buck looks at Ravi’s outfit it’s freaking cute. He could tell his favorite color would be Green and White judging from the inside of his house and how it looked he had on a light green shirt with white flowers a button up and tan pants with light green sneakers another thing that caught Buck’s attention was a small trinket on Ravi’s pants a white elephant. 

Then he realized Ravi was talking to him and he zoned out “Buck, Buck you okay” “Yeah, Yeah sorry what did you say” “what flavor would you like I am a plain vanilla person but..” “Vanilla is perfect but I think they have a mix of ice cream here but whatever you pick I will like uhh why don't you add toppings or just surprise me I can pay once we finish” Ravi looks at him with awe and almost wonder saying that he doesn’t mind paying but Buck insisted so he goes over and orders. Ravi thinks but might be a strawberry kinda guy *maybe he likes hazelnut I do*. For some reason he follows Ravi wondering what he will order for them both watches as he pans over the flavors and the different combinations in the display window popping his head up “so what did you have in mind” *eep* a small squeak comes from Ravi’s voice he turns around seeing Buck behind him “Oh yea um well I was going to get the strawberry cream for me and I was thinking hazelnut for you I mean if you- yo c- can try s- something else I- I just” Buck looks at Ravi sad but trusting face and smirks “no hey… hey it’s okay I don't mind order that and ill be over there waiting okay and I get your nervous plus I am already warming up to the taste”. 

He settles himself a little at what Buck says *why do I feel so fucking nervous around Buck am I sick* the lady behind the counter tells him the order is over in the corner “you have a cute boyfriend you two look cute together” Ravi shakes his head a little and grabs their ice cream “uh thank you” he walks over to Buck sitting down he gives Buck his ice cream and places his spoon near him “these look amazing let’s dig in” tasting their ice creams they both chat then Buck asks to try Ravi’s if only Ravi can try his so “yours is more creamy I taste nothing but strawberries the flavor is lovely” then Ravi says “yours taste like sweet pancakes” knowing he’s right it does “yeah your right” 

The waiter comes and leaves their bill on the table Buck pays and leaves a tip “okay so ready to go look at more ice cream places” smiling Ravi stands up “yeah sure let’s go” they stop at 4 different ice cream places in LA and get to talking more Ravi explains how he now needs to unpack everything and get his new furniture put together but he also tells Buck it’s strange leaving the city was different more peaceful in a way. Then saying it was a little lonely and he didn’t really tell anyone else about the new house he felt bad. 

Buck understands the feeling leaving and making a new area for himself wasn’t easy after Abby and Taylor they were the longest women to stay in his life but letting go of them both felt better Taylor wasn’t a good thing for him. He saw that he deserved better someone to listen to his day and problems to the point where he can do the same kinda like now sitting and eating desserts with Ravi was healing. 

They get ready to leave when Buck tells Ravi he was going to trail him to his house so he can help him with his furniture and unpack knowing they were to far down almost near his house driving the road down seemed worst the rain started hitting every corner 9 minutes away from Ravi’s house they park in the driveway. Soaked and wet “HEY COME ON THIS STORM IS CRAZY” rushing to the front door unlocking it they both get inside closing the front door and locking it back. Ravi looks around and looks for towels out the closet and gives one to Buck “I might have something that will fit you Im used to sleeping in big T-shirts and what umm here”.

Ravi gives Buck a shirt and some pants to change into and he goes and changes himself Buck finishes changing and he goes to look for Ravi peeking into the bed room. Knocking before he enters “sorry I just wanted to check on you” Ravi is putting on his shirt and he glances over his shoulder “oh no it’s okay I don’t mind”. He goes back to the front door and picks up his and Buck’s clothes putting them into a bag notices that Buck is looking out the window Ravi sees Luna by him leaning against his leg “well stormed inside and the internet got knocked out perfect but at least we dry and safe” Buck picks up Luna and gives her scratches “yea I texted cap in the car luckily Athena isn’t around to pull me over” “yea she would definitely be mad and I guess we can play some games I have some card games mostly” Buck thinks *at least it’s not board games I get a little competitive* “yeah sure”. 

4 hours later…..  its 7pm now 

The power finally clicks back on and everything is running again Ravi ended up falling asleep on Buck’s leg after beating him at War he nudges him awake speaking gently in his ear “Hey sleepy prince wake up the storm stopped” rubbing his eyes and a small yawn Ravi looks at Buck then at the window. *He let me sleep on him how long was I out*. “Yea it did um what time is it” Buck lets Ravi up and reaches for his phone yawning “7:45pm and I probably should get back” looking at the dark night outside “I would say you can sleep here but I don’t have my bed up” feeling bad that Buck has to leave “no it’s okay tomorrow ill come back and help you plus I love to put furniture together is that weird” “No , no its not thank you and drive safe Buck”. Waving goodbye he hops in the jeep and drives off. 

Ravi actually slept more and even was in the company of someone he really liked not only that felt safe with. He feeds Luna, charges his phone finally getting on his blow up mattress noticing he is surrounded by silence again and closing his tired eyes falling into darkness. 

Chapter 6: Unpack your life with me

Summary:

Ravi he has new furniture and boxes to unbox the crew help him out but Buck finds something he shouldn’t when an unmarked box is left in the bedroom what is it and how is it connected to Ravi’s past can Buck figure it out but will watching Ravi crack unpack more than just secrets but confessions

 

Ooo Buck what did you find and why does Luna have a flower around her collar…. Jee Yun not again

We all need a little help even if it seems like you don't need it only when you let people in can you heal your wounds

The morning beams down in Ravi’s new house he can smell the fresh grass in the backyard the bees grabbing pollen from the flowers as the sun soaks his skin he walks back inside grabbing kitchen utensils. He places the kitchen knives on the counter and hears the sound of honking cars outside *Buck* he makes sure that Luna cant knock anything over and heads to the front door already hearing the door bell ring. Buck is at the door with flowers lavender his favorite’s actually. A bright smile peers over his face “Buck where did you find lavender flowers they’re my favorite” , “I did some digging and found that lavender flowers grow super well in gardens courtyards”. Buck hands the flowers over to him “that’s not the only surprise  I brought you” everyone pops out and moves inside Athena smiles at Ravi “We heard you needed help setting up your house”.

Eddie looks around and places the house warming gifts he brought on the kitchen counter “your house is stunning Ravi and in the perfect spot too” he realizes that back door was opened leading to the huge garden so he closes it. He noticed the unopened furniture and looked in his tool bag for what he needed so did Buck. They all nod Bobby and Chim pick up the new couch then Bobby looks at them all then at Ravi “So let’s get started everyone we listen to Ravi and he can tell us where everything needs to go after we put everything together”. 

3 hours later all the furniture is put together time to position (hopefully they can agree on something) 

Once they get everything completed they start moving where Ravi can tell the furniture will look good at and then the ladies give Ravi some options of furniture positions even Bobby. Buck and Eddie are moving Ravi’s bed around while waiting for the foam mattress to deflate although them arguing about what place would look decent Athena says to place it in the middle of the room with his night stand on the right of it. The living room was finished after Bobby and Chim questioned the Tv they forgot to place on the stand itself. His home is finally filled with something and it felt warm and fuzzy he was grateful that the crew was able to help him out.

Looking around and watching everyone help him something no one has ever done moving around from foster home to foster home as a kid was enough to make him disappear. Buck moves back into the Ravi’s bedroom and notices two boxes not unpacked yet so he opens it and find some old things notes and four pictures which look like family photos stacked away. He looks at one in particular he can tell it’s Ravi and some lady she dressed in cultural clothing her eyes beautiful and settled he looked at Ravi sad features but cute still his clothes weren’t as well kept. Hearing Ravi call everyone in he tries to push everything back down but makes a mess quickly rushing he sees Ravi standing in the door way. 

“Sorry I- I was a little occupied found uhh well” Ravi sees the photos and sighs he looks Buck in the face “No it’s.. it’s okay I forgot to throw those two here let me uhh” they pick up the photos silence falls between them finally Buck sniffs “are these family photos or-“ “yes they are” he packs everything back up “photos are just bad memories” “No no they’re not they can have good memories too what about this one” he sees the photo of him and his estranged mother the look of sadness followed “no just a horrible person that left me behind but someone she’s finds me like a nightmare that’s my mom I guess they’re attempting to make a relationship with me now”.

Buck’s face softens knowing how Ravi might feel parents who could care less if he died or went missing “sooo they want to visit you they know your in LA why the sudden reach out”. His fingers intertwine with each other “they want to see me no contact for what 12 years the fact I said yes hurt even more”. Buck hands one box to Ravi and carries the other to the trash sad and at the verge of tears he places his head on Buck’s chest “I hope you don’t mind me using you as a head rest” “no not at all you sure you want to get rid of these things” Ravi thinks for a moment he checked the boxes before hand “yea it’s not important you know your a good listener Buck” Buck shaking his head “so Im told”. 

They throw the boxes away and go back inside the house the group sitting on the couches noticing that Ravi and Buck had a blush to their faces Eddie wants to question but doesn’t. However Hen does “so what were you two doing” Buck clears his throat “nothing just throwing some trash out “oh okay” Ravi looks at the security system he has installed and says if anyone wanted to code just incase they could have it Hen, Buck, Bobby, Athena, and Eddie say yes Chim said he’d get it later cause he’d probably lose it. 

Eating lunch and saying goodbye Athena asks Ravi what’s his favorite food that he and her would grab a bite Saturday Ravi smiles “I love chicken wraps any place that fits the description” Athena says she knows a good place Deli Dreams on 4th and maple st he agrees and they schedule a time. Once that was done they all head out the door except for Buck who’s organizing Ravi’s Kitchen utensils and Decor “hey big guy everyone else left what are you doing” “uuuh sorry got carried away um just organizing but uhh yes I should get going”.

Buck walks to the front door and stops suddenly he turns around and faces Ravi looking at him before looking down “hey sooo I know we did the ice cream thing but umm how would y-y-you like to do another but not the ice cream thing I mean an actual you can say no bu-but” Ravi stops him with his hand and looks at him “yes Buck what time and where” Buck looks at his phone “how about tomorrow after shift at 8pm it’s this place called Red Bird downtown”. He stares at Ravi as he is on his phone typing the name of the restaurant and time nervous he shifts his foot up a little before he calms down again. 

“Yes Buck I’ll go on a date with you and for the record you make me nervous too” *a lot actually*. Alarms going off in Buck’s head telling him to stay cool or what ever the hell he lets out a breath agreeing with what Ravi said. He walks to his car and smiles at him before he enters driving off his heart is at full awareness. Ravi closes and locks his door realizing he has an actual date *WITH BUCK EHH* relaxing he goes to find what to wear and prepare for his shift in the morning. 

Buck enters his apartment and clenches his chest 

Buck : I asked Ravi out 

Eddie : okay what did he say

Buck : he said yes and I picked the perfect place he also opened up a little about some things not a whole bunch but some stuff

Eddie : that’s not too bad I dont think I really know much about Ravi either but at least you were able to help him out

Eddie : wait is that why you guys came back inside looking all flushed over 🤣

Buck: yea yea 🤨 look after shift I need your help on outfits nervous but I think I got this 

Eddie : you know you always clean up in a suit but what will you do when you see what Ravi wears 👀

Buck : huh I dont know ill think about it later 😕

Buck places his phone knowing Eddie is probably busy with John and Christopher he sits on his bed his phone pings again a message from Maddie 

Maddie : Buck 😡

Maddie : Buck come on where were you all day and Chim he wont even say anything 🙁

He ignores her not wanting to hear anything from her and turning his phone down but not too much. He still wanted to be able to hear his phone rings he rest in his bed cozy and silent. 

 

 

 

Chapter 7: Speak, Cry and Eat

Summary:

Ravi and Buck go on their first date but can they enjoy it in peace or will that end abruptly too
Chim checks Maddie
Cute Ravi

6:30AM ☀️🌙

When Ravi woke the morning peeking over inside his home ,and he felt his nervous heart beating fast but hopping up from bed stretching arms fully up looking around seeing Luna stretch as well and yawn. She walks out of the room and he grabs his phone walking out turning the beeping alarm off entering his bathroom he sees a small note from Buck ~I noticed you didn't have anything to place your toothbrush or other things so I got this for you =]^. His face lit up he brushes his teeth and once he finishes placing the toothbrush in the organization decor Buck got him.

Wiping his mouth folding the washcloth neatly on the counter rushing out the bathroom. Finally after everything is out the way he gets dressed for work today was more special a feeling he wanted for a long time.

Driving to work Ravi has on a podcast about mermen and aliens something to kill the time but he started to actually like it arriving at the fire house he parked his car. Walking in he greeted everyone and then Eddie taps him on the shoulder. Ravi forgot to take his earbuds out again "one in and one out so you can hear us well that's what I tell Chris when he listens to his audio books". Ravi places them in their case and smiles at Eddie "yeah sorry I was listening to this podcast to pass the time but now I think it's addicting".

Eddie pats Ravi on the shoulder and goes up the stairs he calls for Buck to check the engine running around Buck sees Ravi walking upstairs he trails behind like a cute puppy. He clears his throat and places his hand around his neck trying to make words "hey Ravi so I was wondering are we still on for tonight I - " a thud at his heart he smiles at Buck "yea of course im excited actually once the shift is over ill start getting ready". Tilting his head hands on the table next to him a smirk over Buck looks over at Eddie and Chim who seem to be glaring at him "Okay uhh yea ill do the same pick you up once we get dressed"

Eddie is the only one who knows that Buck has an interest in Ravi so he would ask him later of any details but for now their focus was on the shift.

Bobby is in the kitchen with Hen talking about Mara's surprise party next Friday and asking if Bobby can cook of course Buck and everyone else knew they would be there. Chim was arguing with Maddie about not picking up Jee from daycare again Maddie was the type to leave you hanging when you needed her the most Buck knew that he just hated that Chim was stuck with her.

Bobby tells them to head to the truck heading out on calls they load up and get ready for another day.

5 more calls later (6pm date night almost here)

Ravi grabs his things out of his locker placing his earbuds in his bag and telling everyone good night and see them tomorrow. Eddie rushes down to meet him at the entrance "Ravi Sunday you mind if me and Chris come over your place im pretty sure Buck might beat us there so". Ravi likes that Eddie wants to come over he could use more company. He agrees "yes of course im not doing anything" "cool Chris is gonna be statically on board thank you. He smiles then he whispers as to not spark attention to the others *oh and good luck with your date Buck picked a good spot*.

He leaves and goes back upstairs to help Bobby clean up Chim is having a conversation about jee-yun to Maddie. Hen mention Mara's surprise party to him giving him an invite which he gladly takes places it in his bag. Buck looks at Ravi he never felt like this more nervous and just wanting to make sure everything was perfect. He says goodbye and tells him to call once he is ready to be picked up driving to his loft.

Getting in his truck he drives off today was a pretty good day finally reaching his house he places his keys down and locks his front door. Taking a shower all he could think about was Buck to be near him,feel him anything. Thoughts of how tonight could go ran through his mind as well what would Buck say what would he order is he allergic to anything. He stops and quickly showers he already had his outfit ready just in case he was later or something loose but fitted white shirt and brown pants black shoes brown belt. He got dressed and made sure he had everything then he called Buck and started to wait to be picked up.

Buck was already set and dressed of course he was the excitement got him in full gear black shirt and pants to match crispy ironed and his white shoes he got his black coat just in case he or Ravi got cold. He locked his door and went to the car making extra sure he had his wallet and phone.

20 minutes its 7:45pm traffic was in the way but he made it

Arriving at Ravi's door he knocks flowers in hand he took a good notice of how Ravi enjoyed plants especially growing them so why not. Making sure he was in order Ravi opens his front door and Buck is there standing with a bouquet of lilies. Buck smiles at him he hands Ravi the flowers "Buck thank you they smell amazing how do I look". Taking a breathe glaring at Ravi "good enough to uhhh you look handsome how about me not to bad right". Ravi looks at Buck in *wish you were on my bed* shaking his head "you clean up good Buck I love it" wanting to say more Buck says they need to be on the road. He agrees and locks his front door.

Reservation is 8:30pm

They get seated at their table Buck pulls Ravi seat out for him hoping Ravi wouldn't mind and he doesn't allowing Buck to push him in they get more comfortable with the other. Ordering their food they talk about what to try and what not they talk about their likes and dislikes both having the same likes rather than dislikes. "So what are your favorite hobbies or interests" Ravi loves to hear that "of course you know I love to garden, and books I love reading it's my favorite-".

Hearing Ravi talk was his favorite part he pretty much got caught up with Ravi's answers paying attention only to him "so what are yours I remember when we were trapped in the cave you mentioned you love art and plants too". Buck was happy to have a full blown conversation with someone he connected with they get to talking more saying how they both love the smell of citrus and hate mushrooms on food.

Their favorite music and bands it was going great well until.

Maddie and Chim show up Buck can see them enter "okay so they're here why are they here" Ravi is about to turn around when Buck grabs his hand and motions for him not to turn around "I really was hoping to have a goodnight" Ravi saddens at what Buck says "I really was too well maybe we still can" he grabs his hand and asks him to tell him more about his favorite books Buck relaxes trying to ignore them. Then all hell breaks loose Maddie sees Buck by the window *shit* he curses in his head "Buck hiii your here with Ravi uhhh well was not expecting this why are you here".

Ravi looks at Buck giving him reassurance and then Chim gives a signal to Ravi almost like a -no say nothing- Buck turns and tell them their on a date he wasn't afraid of what Chim would think because he had his back. Maddie sneers and looks between the two "ohh well that's nice but wait you go on date yet and ignore me....me. Sensing that there might be a problem Buck gets up "Maddie I don't have to tell you everything or respond when you want.

Ravi gets up saying he needs to use the bathroom and Chim follows him giving Buck a signal to come get him if things go left. Which things did go left so Ravi went quickly to the restroom. Maddie looks at Ravi while he leaves "so your gay okay that wasn't expected okay it's a joke right your not really are you" Buck's eyes widen almost in hurt from what she said realizing he and Ravi are done eating he pays the bill and leaves a tip.

^45^ in tip (bill was $70)

Keeping His head up he starts to question why but he already knows the reason why "Maddie your need to question my sexuality is none of your business I was trying to have a nice time out with Ravi and you ruined it". Buck's face falls as he was trying not yell Ravi comes by his side hearing everything  he sneers and says "Buck doesn't need to explain anything to you he's ignoring for a good reason and you just made it clear why". Chim breaks the heat that falls "Maddie look Buck is who is he and that's fine your judgment is not needed so why don't you go home but why apologize it won't make a difference will it".

She stiffness and peers at Ravi "He's only using you it's what he does" Buck clears his throat "that the past me I'm Buck 4.0 and Maddie next time reach out through a call notice that you've ignored my calls many times look we're leaving so bye and Chim thank you for having my back come on Ravi".

They walk away and Chim shakes his head at Maddie "you've been like this for days why can't you be happy for your own brother and matter a fact why are me and jee the ones taking the the raft huh answer that Maddie I'm going home".

Buck and Ravi prepare to leave when Maddie stops them and Chim grabs her but she breaks away “your selfish Evan you only care about what you want every time through the years you have been exhausting I guess that's why mom and dad can't stand staring at your face” Chim falls back and Maddie reveals a harsh secret "your only my brother because my real brother died they only wanted you for spare parts". Ravi steps in between them "ENOUGH WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM MADDIE" "what do you mean spare p-p-arts".

Ravi shields Buck telling him to they need to leave. So they do and the drive home wasn't awkward but it was silent. He tells Buck if he wanted to stay he could crash in the spare bedroom.

Thinking about what Maddie said he swallows into his thoughts until Ravi breaks it "hey don't let what she said bother you Buck". He looks down and looks at Ravi's pajama's they're cute and looked comfy smiling at that a smirk on his face "your sleep must be comfortable thanks to your pjs". 

Ravi blushes he and tells Buck if he wanted a late night snack feel free "goodnight Buck I enjoyed this night" he gets closer and so does Buck their faces touching almost *cough* "we should get some sleep and I guess I can get ready for work here I have my uniform in my jeep". *I would love that* Ravi is in his thought's too "yea yeah I don't mind" "Good night Ravi"

They both sleep with their doors open so they can hear one another.

Buck hears screaming

Ravi was thrashing about in his bed "RAVI Ravi hey hey hey it's okay your okay" he holds him tight and gently massage his head. Ravi tells him it was a nightmare and he sits up next to Buck "sorry I woke you" “no it’s okay that must’ve scared you”. He nods and places his face in Buck’s chest this only makes Buck holds him tighter he gets up about to go back to bed when “wai-wait I know this is quick but could you stay in here with me”. 

His heart jumps and he wants to do more than just that Buck gets on the other side of the bed giving Ravi time to adjust. He slides into bed “ yea is this okay” “it’s okay are you” thinking for a moment Buck shifts he looks Ravi in his eyes “yea I am”. 

They cuddle up and drift to sleep finally closing their eyes. 

Chapter 8: The Secret & Comforts

Summary:

Buck couldn’t just let go what Maddie said to him after the date he had with Ravi and Buck explains his childhood to Ravi while Chim needs Buck to get Jee-Yun from daycare

It was Saturday Ravi had lunch with Athena she asked him to have lunch again with him next week at a new restaurant that opened up. Ravi nodded and put a place for Athena in his phone so he can be reminded. She gets up from the table “well Ravi I hope you have a great weekend I have to go Bobby is probably making a mess of my kitchen”. He laughs and gets up as well “you too Athena I have to go Buck’s waiting for me at his place hang out day” Athena smirks at him and pats his hand leaving to her car. Ravi gets up and walks to his car watching to see if Athena made it to her truck safely as he gets in the driver seat he sees Maddie crossing the street in front of him. Slouching down making sure he is not seen Maddie is walking with some other guy holding his hand and giving him a peck on the cheek. Ravi snaps a pic of the two and quickly drives off panicking but trying to calm himself before he arrives to Buck’s place. 

8 minutes later (Buck’s place) 

Ringing Buck’s doorbell he waits for him to open the door Buck’s face of excitement as he pulls Ravi in for a hug *just stay calm Ravi Stay CALM DAMMIT* Ravi smiles at Buck walking over to the kitchen counter and placing what he got for him from the restaurant he and Athena left [chicken & salmon stuffed with asparagus and brown rice]. Buck smells the food “It smells delicious thank you I was starving from Hen’s place she said she found some information for but I was too stubborn to eat anything” Ravi walks over placing a hand on Buck’s hand “it’s okay look what Maddie did was out of line way out there and I know you want answers but remember to take care of your needs first”. Buck backs up in the corner near the fridge and reflects on what was said he squints his face and eyebrows at Ravi “yeah yea I just it’s- I had a brother I know nothing about shouldn’t I be questioning it”.

Ravi takes the food out of the bag placing it on the table Buck quickly grabs it taking a bite of the food “your right I mean I would be too finding out I had a brother that died and there was a huge secret behind it all yes”. As Buck eats he notices that a smell is coming from Ravi a sweet smell of lilies and roses he gets up from his chair walks over sniffing Ravi’s neck.

He glances up at him “you smell freaking amazing what is that perfume” he looks at Ravi’s eyes and they stare at one another for a moment “thank you and yea it’s a perfume I- just um I” *he’s sniffing me*. They sit in a silence and Buck makes a gesture to sit next to him “my childhood wasn’t exactly a picture perfect life and Maddie hasn’t been the best sister ever since she left when I was 13 and never came back never responded to my postcards”.

Years back Buck was alone at the age of 13 he wanted not only his parents love but his sister’s love too and getting just that was a red flag. Ravi repositioned himself in his seat gesturing Buck too continue eating his pasta “when Maddie left the first night I was actually alone I woke the next morning overheard my parents were arguing about me blaming me for Maddie leaving that’s when I broke my arm again and they didn’t even feel bad that I was hurt. I skipped three grades in school and didn't even get a congratulatory call or gift from them they left me alone for two weeks to go on *much needed vacation* leaving me alone in the house with a broken arm, they never cared when a virus almost killed me or the time I was hospitalized for pneumonia even when I was almost raped they told me that telling anyone would be bad for their reputation they blamed me for it said I was a whore at 18”. Ravi tears up at what Buck is telling him he wipes his eyes and tells him to keep going. “They didn't know my interests or what food I didn't like not even school I was top of the class my grades were excellent it was like I existed in silence they ignored me everyday”. 

“When I finally was able to leave had money saved up they said good riddance and I lost contact I went to college graduated with an art degree I learned 5 languages and traveled the world ended up in LA. The time I spent here at the 118 I’ve grown more I was hothead and selfish but everything changed when Athena and Bobby, Chim, Hen, Eddie and you Ravi came into my life I felt safe and loved you’re complete strangers my life couldn’t get anymore better but it can if I let people in more *tears dropping down Buck’s face* Ravi takes him into a hug and he feels warm for the first time in his life he was wanted no he was cared about. 

Soon as Buck awakens he looks down at a sleeping Ravi then he sees the clock on the TV (4pm) He places Ravi in his bed upstairs and checks his phone. A text from Chim 

Sent at 4:00pm Chim : Buck can you pick up Jee from daycare bring her to your place for me I need to find Maddie she was suppose to pick up jee but never came thank you best brother I could have love you

Buck : yea sure I can go get her now Chim me and Ravi can look after her 

Chim : thank you wait Ravi’s there :} 

Buck : Haha and we were just talking

Chim : yeah okay go get your niece lover boy 

Buck :O 

Buck quickly puts his shoes on and wakes Ravi up he slowly yawns and stretches *so cute* “Ravi hey can you stay a little longer I need to go pick up jee-yun from daycare” Ravi sits up smiling at Buck “sure I love spending time with jee yea go ahead I’ll wait here”. 

Chim : crap her car seat 

Buck : dont worry already got it covered

Chim : uncle Buck always to the rescue 

Starting his car up he has purchased a seat just for jee already just in case he did have to take jee for a while he was well prepared he leaves to go get jee-yun. 

 

Chapter 9: Secrets don’t stay buried

Summary:

Buck and Ravi spend time with Jee-yun Ravi shows Buck the pic of Maddie and the mysterious man Hen and Athena speaks to Buck about the Buckley secret (Murder Mystery)

Chim packs up and leaves Maddie taking Jee with him

(Buck is At Sunshine Daycare to get Jee-yun) 10am 

Buck gets out of the car at the daycare and goes inside for jee he tells the receptionist at the front desk he’s here for his niece and waits for her to grab jee-yun. When jee comes out of the daycare area she waves at him smiling “unc buck” Buck grabs jee raising her up by the arms then placing her on his hip “hi my princess how are you” “good see daddy today” “yea we will but today we go to my house okay and then your daddy will come get you” “Kay”.

He places and hooks jee in her car seat drives to his loft while Ravi is waiting for them. While Buck and Jee are in the car they start singing (searows end of the world) Jee being off key but loving the song anyway. He parks and gets Jee out of her seat they walk upstairs to his front door knocking for Ravi. The door swings open and Ravi opens his arms for Jee-yun “Jee hiii” “Hi Ra” Ravi takes Jee out of Buck’s arm and goes over to the fridge for a juice box giving it to her.

She looks at Buck who smiles at her and places her book bag on the counter “okay so Chim has her snacks and tablet in her bag along with her coloring books” “I have some clothes here as well in case she need a bath or just change in case of a mess”. Ravi nods seeing that Jee has finished her juice “okay I see your done sweetie how about we chill for a minute what do you want to do” Jee peeks over at Buck who is making faces at her she laughs “Buck faces” “yes Buck faces want to color while your uncle Buck and I talk for a minute” “mhm”.

He puts Jee in a seat and places her coloring books and color pencils along with a snack in front of her. Walking over to Buck he whispers *so what are we going to do with Jee until Chim comes how about some games and a movie* smirking he agrees “yea that would be nice” and looks at Ravi walk to Jee helping her color. They start playing a safe game of hide and seek and then eat dinner. Buck places a movie on and grabs some popcorn for them to eat he texts Chim to see what time he would come get Jee-yun and sends him a pic of her eating popcorn.

Chim : ill get jee soon guys Maddie is getting on my nerves im trying my best here but she just keeps digging at me 

Chim : she loves popcorn just make sure she doesn’t have too much 

Buck : what the hell is her problem and if you want I can keep Jee until tomorrow is Sunday and I dont have any plans plus she has clothes here too 

Chim : your a life saver man also Athena and Hen are probably going to call you about something

Buck : more secrets of the Buckley family see you tomorrow 

Buck looks over at Ravi and Jee who dozed off Ravi has jee on his chest and they both have popcorn covering their faces *this is freaking adorable* he snaps a pic of them. Then he carries them both upstairs letting them sleep in his bed while he takes the couch turning off the TV and drifting off to sleep. 

The next morning (9am) (Ravi and Jee-yun are still sleeping Buck is in the kitchen making pancakes) 

*knocks* Front door 

Buck opens the door to Chim who has a bag of things for Jee-yun with worry in his eyes he helps Chim with the bags and Chim goes over to the counter. He looks at Buck “me and Maddie broke up I just can’t take it anymore Buck she’s a a - I was wondering if me and Jee can crash here until I find another place she told me she never loved me just wanted jee to show off to her parents and then she said that jee should’ve died in the tub she wasn’t even trying to save her and now I found out she’s with another guy”. Chim looks hurt Buck can tell tears in his eyes like he was crying all night sitting in the dark alone he walks over comforting him “hey- hey relax breathe, breathe and sit” “okay so Maddie dropped something huge on you a secret about jee and she’s cheating why say this now”. 

Chim takes a breathe and swallows “she said just in case I really wanted to leave then might as well unpack everything telling me I am a waste of a father that I dont give her enough money Idk Buck I really just need a break from her”. He peers in his eyes and pats him on the shoulder “hey your not a waste of a father jee loves you” Buck points at jee “she needs you Chim she needs you to be strong for her every time you enter the room she jumps for joy you are her entire world remember that”.

Buck sits with him and they hear Ravi and Jee wake up from their sleep “you can stay as long as you like but I think Ill wipe out the foam mattresses” smiling at that Chim is greeted by Jee and Ravi walks with her. Grabbing her in his arms she tilts her head “Papa sad” “no papa not sad jee how did you sleep” “good” he kisses her head and looks up at Buck and Ravi “she slept amazing apart from her kicking me” giving Jee her stuffed elephant then he sits next to Buck. 

Realizing he needs to leave and search for some places Buck mentions that he was going over to Athena’s to talk with her and Hen telling him that Jee can come with them and Ravi and May can look after her while their home Bobby was cooking so when he was finished he can eat and pick jee up at the same time. Closing the front door after letting Chim out he hears Ravi call him. 

Sensing curiosity and worry at the same time on Ravi’s face 

Ravi pulls out his phone mentions the man that Maddie is seeing he looks like a rich arrogant person with a low haircut and a tattoo on his neck Chim would be more devastating *he cant find out* “I figured that telling him would’ve been off putting he looks so sad I saw them when I came from lunch with Athena they were going into some boutique store”. Buck sniffs and frowns at the picture “for now I think it’s best if only we know” Ravi nods and places his phone away”. 

(Athena & Bobby’s New House) (4pm) 

*Knocking to May opening the door* 

May smiles at the three “Buck, Chim, Ravi Hi here why dont I take Jee hello sweet” “I here for candy”, Chim looks at her with a smug face and so does Buck “we told her there was candy and food so she’s just ready for that mostly”. May smirks at her and they go inside being greeted by Athena with a hug and she gestures them to sit “Buck, Chim and Ravi how are you food should be ready in a few minutes Harry and Denny are trying to con Bobby into giving them a taste of everything first”. Buck sees that Chim gets up “why dont I go help Bobby and the fellas be back” he looks at them and leaves while Athena gives her ^what’s going on face^. 

Hen gives Buck three letters this makes him adjust in his seat while Ravi and Athena exchange a look at Hen. Hen then clears to speak “Buck I know Chim told you we did some digging into what Maddie unexpectedly spilled to you apparently so Daniel Buckley was 8 when he died of cancer leukemia in 1985 there was also another before Daniel died”.

He sits up and looks at them “Another what”, Hen sees his eyes narrow “you had another sister before Maddie her name was Annie Oris Buckley died in a house fire it was all over Hershey news channel back in 1979 she was 5 when she died Athena also looked up any police records when the fire department called your parents claimed the fire was started accidentally” “But me and Hen dont think so”.

They start to take deep breaths “Hen said your parents might have caused the fire and it lead to Annie’s death but the cover up is also disclosed” Buck tilts his head and looks confused to angry even “I had a sister too but it was kept under wraps why”. Athena places her hand on his “the real question is why are your parents still roaming free”.

They all go silent and Ravi moves his eyebrow up “guys if they’re *accidentally* killing their kids off why hasn’t Maddie or Buck been put out of their way”. Buck knows why “because I have all my money saved up and my grandparents left me in their trust but Maddie is the only girl and the person to manipulate”. Hen eyes Buck “how much are we talking Buck” , he sighs “enough to keep me on their good side and 6ft above ground”. They hear Bobby wrestling with the pans. 

Bobby and the kids bring out the food they all sit at the table “alright everyone dig in”. Bobby mentions the firefighter ball and what time as he talks on Buck feels his phone vibrate. 

*Ping* (Buck’s message rings) 

Ravi : I need to tell you something but later not now 

Buck : you okay you dont look okay 

Ravi : 😕 I’ll explain when we get to my place 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 10: Let me help you & Smell The Lilies

(At Ravi’s house 7pm Sunday Night) 

Buck and Ravi arrive at Ravi’s house getting out of the car they walk to his front door. He waits for Ravi to unlock his door but notices that he is trembling at his keys so he places his hand on him and Ravi immediately stops shaking. Looking at him from behind he whispers calmly ‘breathe and count’ he does just that “1, 2, 3, 4, 5” “What do you see” “your hand on mine” “okay what can smell” “your cologne, and mine” “what do you feel” “the door knob and you behind me”. Buck breathes with him and watches as the front door opens “you smell good by the way what is that” he smiles sweetly at Ravi “lilies and lavender actually” “hmm sorry I don't mean to be all on you” “no it’s fine I like it” . 

They sit on the couch and Luna walks over to them “hey Luna what have you been up to girl” Luna stretches and walks past them a small meow “yea same”. Buck pulls Ravi into him more “tonight was a lot” he hums at that and they encase each other Ravi then reaches for his phone and Buck scrolls through his sitting next to him. He peers at a number unknown and finally he sighs a breathe then looking at Buck anger to sadness peers over his face. *Telling is better than bottling it up plus he needs to know* He sees Buck stretch a hand up then places his phone down and he gets up “so the ball is tomorrow what are you wearing and while you’re at it why don't you tell me what’s going on with you”.

Ravi fumbles with his wrist and looks at Buck “it’s something but it’s also nothing” tapping on his thigh “ and I don't want to get into right now can I tell you after we actually enjoy ourselves for once”. Buck looks down and he faces Ravi “yea okay just no more secrets now what are you wearing to the ball me personally a white classic tux but its prince style”. Ravi smiles then getting up from his spot he walks into his bedroom ,and brings out his dress tux while the top looked more elegant. The arms were straight but poked out and a gray top and black puffy bottom the neck of the outfit was bowed a black tie to finish it off. Buck finds a moment of jitters in his bones he loves the outfit “it’s beautiful I love it you’ll look beautiful in it”. Ravi blushes a little then takes his outfit back into his room “so what are you wearing I want to see it too” “oh yeah here” Buck’s tux is all white top button up shirt underneath but the top flaps and the top was patterned with a white hacker chief along of gold trimming white pants and bow tie. They look at one another for a moment and Ravi’s eyes melt over “you’ll look dashingly handsome my prince”. 

Buck stays at Ravi’s house for the night sleeping at his places felt better like he was safe ,and warm, they sleep in Ravi’s room. He walks around checking the house making sure everything is okay ,and crawls into bed with Ravi while Luna sleeps in the corner.

( Saturday Morning 8am ) - Front Door Knocks

A knock at the front door awakens only Buck he leans up and gets out the comfort of the bed seeing as Ravi was still asleep. He opens the door the mail man gives him a package and a letter. Waving goodbye he shuts the door and places the box on the couch but grabs the letter reading the address and name *your our only son we must see you in the box is your favorite candy we hope you will let us squash this mess and get past it another surprise awaits when we arrive be on your best behavior* - love mother . 

A yawning Ravi awakens and Buck quickly puts the letter down as he hears Ravi walk into the living room. Looking at him and rubbing his eye “he- hey Buck was there someone at the door” Ravi sees the package but the look on Buck’s face says ^be prepared^ “a package I think I already know thanks for getting the door” a sniff and smile over Buck’s face “no problem um I did read the note by the way sorry” “no it’s fine”. He looks at the note and reads it frowns picking up the package and taking it over to the counter. 

Silence falls for a moment and Buck clears his throat “so your parents right I mean you uhh wait that’s why you were so off yesterday wasn’t it”. Ravi opens the box and filled with treats he hasn’t seen or smell since he was 8 remembering the memories of his parents and how they were was already painful. He closes the box and places it down by the trash “yea yea umm not now Buck I’m sorry but I-I can’t please” tears fall down his face Buck pulls him in a hug so tight they could stay like this forever. They break it “tonight is about us and how much fun it will be to have everyone around us and I promised Eddie and Chris they can come over to help me with the garden well mainly Chris you and Eddie can help us if you want”. 

A sigh braves over him but he doesn’t argue or pressure Ravi to answer “okay yea your right umm I- ju” 

(Doorbell Rings)  

Eddie and Chris arrive in time to help Ravi with the garden. Buck walks over and opens the door for them “hey Buck where’s Ravi” “hey buddy Ravi is right outside waiting for yo- ohh okay I guess Im just a wall then”. Eddie hugs Buck “Hey Buck he’s just excited that’s all trust me all I got from him was Dad can we go to Ravi’s house it’s garden day” he laughs and they walk out the back to Ravi and Chris planting lilies and roses in the soil. Eddie peeks at Buck “Sooo Ravi tell you what was wrong” “uhhhh yes and no” Eddie smirks his face up a little “what does that mean” “it means he just wasn’t ready to tell me everything something about his parents he got really quiet after so I didn’t want to pressure him to tell me”. Eddie shrugs at that note and looks at Ravi and Chris “well eventually he will tell you when he’s comfortable”. 

(It’s 1pm they clean up and eat) 

The Garden was filled to the brim and it looked stunning after everything was finished they eat Buck had picked up some pizza and grabbed some snacks. When it was time for Eddie and Chris to leave Ravi let Chris take a plant home with him. Eddie tells them they would see each other at the ball tonight he would take Chris over to his Tia pepa. 

Buck closes the door behind them and Ravi gets a text from Hen, Karen, Athena and May in a group chat. 

Athena : Ravi I know everything and I assume you already know what I mean of course 

Ravi : Okay okay so yea Buck and I are dating I was gonna tell everyone soon

May : I knew it Bobby owes me money 

Hen : Eddie spilled the beans to me but my radar was definitely hot on you both

Karen  : why am I always the last to find out 

Ravi : sorry Karen but since you all know now I have on my outfit for tonight please let me know what you think and I am nervous over here the ball isn’t until 8pm Buck is already here well he spent the night so he could help

Athena : okay relax breathe show us your outfit did Buck already see it 

Ravi : ( sends his outfit to the ladies ) Buck already saw it but I wanted to ask 

Hen : Beautiful like a design of heaven 

Athena : you clean up pretty sharp there Ravi 

Karen : I love that top 

May : man you gotta tell me where you get your outfits its stunning 

Ravi smiles and places his dress tux back where it was he was already up to ten in nerves Buck is glancing at him but blushing at the same time wondering what he’s thinking about. *He’s pacing a lot maybe I should stop him* and then he watches him go back into his room *nah he looks okay I think* Buck goes back to the show he’s watching. 

Ravi : you guys gotta help me how’d you get over dating someone or just being around them I still feel nervous about tonight 

Athena : Just being around someone you love can do that to you baby Buck is probably doing the same thing on the inside you just can’t see it tonight is all about fun and life let Buck in even when you dont want too

May : mom’s right Ravi I mean I was the same way with Darius 

Karen : Hen and I were always confident in each other’s company but we really just went for it 

Hen : yea just be yourself and maybe place your mind on a comfort of just having fun tonight with Buck 

Ravi : okay right oh it’s almost time gotta go see you ladies tonight

(Eddie pops in the chat) 

Eddie : what I miss were we just gossiping 

Athena : we will tell you late how late are you 

Eddie : sorry got caught up some lady came to Buck’s loft I had to check on his plants today too 

Athena & Ravi : what 

Eddie : yeah look don't tell Buck yet I made her leave 

Athena & Ravi : okay 

Ravi : ill see you all in a few 

(7pm They all get dressed) 

It’s Firefighter Ball time - THEME Masquerade

Everyone is dressed in their most elegant clothes it looks stunning Ravi and Buck are walking in together greeted by Bobby and Athena. They see the other’s talking and laughing. Bobby shakes Buck’s hand “Buck your looking dashing kid” “thank you Bobby, hello Athena” Bobby takes Ravi’s hand “Ravi you look so handsomely beautiful tonight” Ravi blushes “thank you Bobby you and Athena clean up good”. As Athena heads over to Ravi she shakes his hand and kisses his cheek “Hey that’s my line for you” “I’ll remember next time”. They lead them over to the group who greet them with hugs and warmth.

Eddie and John, Bobby, Chim smile over at Buck which causes Buck to walk over to them while the ladies and Ravi are chatting. Bobby raises his eyebrow at Buck and Buck squints at him finally he speaks “okay okay me and Ravi are dating I feel like your the last one who knows and trust me I would’ve told you sooner I swear”. Bobby holds up his hand and calms Buck’s nerves “kid.. kid it’s okay I figured it out long before anyone else did” Chim looks around and points “YOU KNEW BEFORE US”, “Even before Eddie” Eddie’s face frowns “wait before me how-“. Bobby raises his arms up in defeat “yes I sensed Buck and Ravi were together but their business is their’s to tell so”. Buck smiles at Bobby “thank you cap and yes I was gonna tell everyone but we just wanted to enjoy the moment to ourselves”. 

Ravi sees Buck in the distance by the guys talking he turns his attention back to Athena who is telling Hen something and he remembers the lady at Buck’s loft. Bobby sees that Buck has his eyes on Ravi “you love him don't you” “more than anything I mean him and me have been the closest and we have so much in common but a lot of trauma” “then tell him get closer kid or you’ll lose him” Buck blinks and sighs “yea it’s just what if he gets hurt what i-“, Bobby hushes him “not the what if its the will and the time”. 

(Waltz and Home) 

Everyone participated in the waltz but then it was Ravi and Buck’s turn. They both face each other and start “I hope this is fine” he grabs Ravi’s waist and they move together like a movie of a couple in a royal court. The music turns only for them to Ravi whispers in Buck’s ear *It’s perfect wouldn’t change it for anything*. When they were finished the ball wrapped up and they bided everyone goodbye. Eddie and Athena stop them before they leave “Buck, Ravi wait I know we agreed not to say anything but Eddie said there was a woman at your loft today” Buck looks at them “wait what do you mean a woman at my lo- wait all three of you knew”. Ravi twitches his lip and shivers “yea we were gonna wait until after to tell you I think we all needed a break” Buck rubs his head and looks at the three “okay okay I’m not mad just worried”. Eddie steps over to Buck “she was a little old but she asked for you and then she said your sister told her where you lived”. 

Realizing who the woman is “yea okay I know her but if she appears at anyone else place let me know” Athena’s eyes glance around the three “that woman is your mom isn’t she Buck why is she looking for you”. He sighs and Ravi squeezes his hand which gives him some relief “I have no clue as to why but I really don’t have time thanks for telling me guys”. 

They all go to their cars and go home Ravi rode with Buck so he would drop him off at home. Getting in the front door the sleepy faints that fall over them both “hey you mind if I crash here tonight” “of course always come on how about I get a shower and we can relax for a bit” “yea I’d like that”. 

Buck’s phone beeps 

Margret : Evan where are you your sister told us everything 

He sighs places his phone down and drops on the bed when he feels someone attack him where he lays. Ravi smiles at him “hi” “hi what’s wrong and we’re sorry for not telling you about your mom”. Buck doesn’t blame Ravi or the other’s for what happened “no no no don’t it’s okay I know you guys are trying to protect me but it’s fine really come on why don't we get some sleep” “okay” they tickle each other in bed and then relax them selves. 

 

 

Chapter 11: Open Your Heart & Let Go

Summary:

A day with Buck & Ravi (Ravi freaks on a call )
Maddie try to take Jee from daycare Chim & Athena come to the rescue

(Fire House Meeting) 9am 

Buck and Ravi walk inside the fire house and see that every is gathering around Bobby motions them to join in they put their stuff up first and join. Eddie and Chim, Hen are surrounding Bobby as the team listens in. Bobby is holding up new helmet attach are lights and he also demonstrates the new medic packs. “Alright guys here we have new medic packs easier and better to carry beside of what we use they also carry masks for N95 masks for when your on a call and a patient presents illness unknown to you.

As they all listen Eddie stares at Buck “you know any good fun places around LA Chris and his friends want to hang out this weekend he mentioned a place you took him too once thought it would be fun” “yea I’ll text it to you give me sec and by the way my parents are in town and are Ravi’s”. Eddie’s turn sour and he breathes “shit that’s like double kill huh” “ya and it’s gonna be miserable Maddie is already bugging me and Ravi told me this morning his parents are at a hotel hoping to have dinner”. Buck places another smile on his face “Ravi and I are thinking about moving in together we make plans tomorrow actually” Eddie nods “hey good for you two let me know if you need any-“. Before Eddie gets what he wants to say out. 

Bobby is done explaining everything when the bell rings

(Call 1 Rosie age 5 stuck in a well)

Bobby flags out everyone and gives them an order “Everyone listen up Rosie age 7 she was in her backyard tripped and fell into this well while playing with her brother been stuck since 6am this morning” “Eddie, secure this rope and we can get some one down there, Buck go check and make sure Rosie can hear you with this mic we need to be able to speak with her, Chim, Hen near the well with supplies clear for transport, Ravi I hate to say but you your the only one small enough to get down there that well is narrow but only for average size think you can do it”. Ravi nods “yea cap just hook me up” Hen gets the rope and wraps it around his waist tightly she gives him the good to go nod and they heard over.

Bobby places the mic on and they speak with Rosie “hello Rosie how are you” “im tired” Bobby nods knowing it was a while since she fell “yea I know you are kid me and my team are gonna get you out of there” “where’s my brother” “he’s safe he is up here with us wanna speak to him” “yes please”. Bobby hands an extra rope to slide over Rosie “thomas are you okay” “yea im okay”. Their mother watches nervously standing from afar but close to where you can see her. 

Buck lowers Ravi down the well and as he reaches Rosie he can see that she is wet and dirty so he starts to tie the rope around her and attaches her to him so they can be lifted up. While they were doing that on the surface Bobby walks over to the mother and Thomas “hey Thomas your sister is coming in a few minutes is this your mother” “yes “hello ms-“ “Amber” “Amber glad you called” “no my son dialed just now” “but you mentioned she was down there since 6am” “no that’s not true she just fell really” Thomas notices his mother is lying so he finally speaks up after being afraid too “she’s lying Rosie was down there since this morning she always does this I took her phone she got mad and hit me you gotta help us” Amber tries to soothe over the terrible situation by trying to apologize or say kids are always getting in trouble but Bobby and the others don't buy it not the least. 

Bobby frowns at her “your children are 5 and 10 and one was the only adult in this situation how could you just leave them outside like that your a monster” “look man” “NO” “I will be talking with your children and you can wait for the police to get here”. Eddie twitches his mouth while Hen and Chim look disgusted Buck was hearing the commotion and pulled Ravi and Rosie out they were both covered in mud. Rosie coughs and Hen runs over to get her vitals. Ravi walks over to everyone and Bobby is still yelling at the mother then Eddie and Chim get him to cool down.

Ravi’s eyes look around “Buck what’s going on” “the mother wasn’t really out here watching them she was inside the house while they were out here by themselves apparently all day Rosie was in that well all day and she did nothing she heard them screaming for help and she sat inside that house aware” 

(Athena arrives)

Searching around the area it was huge mess Athena reaches Bobby and has a talk with him and the children while Ravi looks in a daze Buck notices and walks over to him. He tells him it’s time to get in the truck Ravi shakes his head “NO not until I know they’re gonna be okay Buck” “Okay.. okay look Athena is taking them now alright she’ll help them find a good home they’re safe come on” but Ravi doesn’t budge over even hear him he watches and the 118 look at him as Athena places the kids in one car and the mother in another. Chim looks over at Buck “hey what’s up with Ravi” “I-Im not sure he just freaked” .Bobby is talking with Athena “Bobby I know I have seen this situation many times these will be fine I’ll have Lou take them to a care shelter for now but you have got to keep cool”. 

Chim places a hand on Ravi’s shoulder “hey you know those kids are gonna be okay right it’s just the hand of fate what if we were to late Thomas was able to get them away from something dangerous and abusive in the end all we can do is help but you can always ask Athena tomorrow where they are placed” Ravi’s eyes narrow and look up “yea yea your right let’s go”. 

(12 calls after that one about a clown) 

(Firehouse packing up and going home) 

They get ready to go home and Ravi packs his stuff up so does Buck “hey you froze today why” “it’s nothing Buck “no it’s not nothing look I want you to be honest with me you know I can tell when your upset or hurt right” he sighs “yea I know come on let’s just go home you mind I stay with you tonight I just need to grab some clothes”. Buck chuckles “of-of course yea I’d like that” Hen and Chim walk over to them Eddie tells them goodnight and that he needs to go get Chris while Hen pulls Ravi over to talk to him and Chim tells Buck Maddie tried to take jee yun from daycare without his permission but tells Buck he would see him tomorrow and Buck tells him to let him know what happens. 

Hen is concerned for Ravi and just like she opens up something in him “so where were you” “I just got side tracked” “seemed like you were really worried about those kids why” “they reminded me of something honestly” “memories are funny but maybe someone can help you though them some one that shares the same memories as you do you never know Ravi”.

She looks over at Buck who is placing his items in his bag “what if I can’t” “oh but that’s the reason you have people around you in your life everyone on this team has had some trauma in their lives just try I gotta go Danny and Mara are expecting me to cook their favorite pasta”. He smile and tells her to drive safe he walks over to Buck asking him if he is ready to go.

At Daycare With Jee-yun (Chim & Athena come to her rescue)

Athena tells Chim to look into getting full custody of Jee and Maddie was unstable “that woman is rotten but you Howard Han are more selfless than she is if I were you I would consider letting her go” “she keeps me in the dark Athena all the time and I have my suspicions of why” “sometimes being in the dark is the key to shedding light on the suspicion”. She gives him Jee back and wishes them luck telling them if they ever need her or any of them that their a phone call away”>

(At Buck’s Loft) 8pm 

Ravi and Buck enter the loft and unwinding themselves he reaches up at Ravi and pulls him down. Eddie sits and tells them about john “well I dont think you would hurt John or Christopher either you are a good person Eddie maybe let someone else in that wants to help you with your worries John loves you and he’ll go through the fire for you and Chris you both know the job you’ve both had trauma this could be great”.  Eddie nods Ravi rubs his shoulder “john cares about you guys and if that’s what he is planning maybe keeping it in question can fuel the enjoyment just don’t forget we’re your best men including Chim”. Laughter fills the room and Eddie reminds Buck that he will definitely remember to call next time. Chapter 12: Love Me Anyway

Summary:

It’s move in day for Buck and Ravi the team help them prepare for a new chapter in their lives

(Eddie's house 10am Thursday) 

John had opened the door to a panicking Ravi and Buck both asking to come in. John looks at them with curious and interested. They see Eddie folding clothes by the couch "ohh hey gu- you two okay" "Eddie I think something is up with these two" he twitches his nose "yea what isn't guys what's going on". Buck peers up at Eddie sighs while Ravi looks like he needs a thousand hugs "both of our parents are coming over for dinner mine at 2 and his at 7 make us get off the grid Friday". His hands wrap over and over he drops his head while Ravi looks even more panicked than him. "Okay okay who's parents are you having dinner with first" Buck tilts his head "mine than Ravi's parents are coming over at 6pm" Eddie scratches his head "whoa that is sudden okay what's the plan you gotta have a plan guys".

Ravi walks over and sits by Buck "the plan was we ignore them but that won't be able to happen with my parents they're very cultural and hard to please". Buck sighs twitches his mouth "yea my parents just won't give up the we can help you son by making you feel like everything is your fault wagon”. Ravi pinches his cheek and pecks a kiss on his forehead “my parents finally reached out to me haven’t had contact in 18 years so idk I felt like it’s going to be hard” Eddie sits at the table with them “let me guess the dinner will be filled with bad atmosphere but food right ill come if you guys need some support”. They both look at him and agree giving him the times of both dinner’s then the pair get up from the couch and go to Buck’s house to get ready for dinner since Ravi already had his clothes over.

In the car it seemed like silence would over take them again after a few seconds Ravi glances at Buck “if your in trouble or it feels they’re pressuring you getting at your anger points ill be there we can leave when ever”. Still watching the road Buck reaches for Ravi’s hand “yea I know same with you I know you haven’t seen your parents in a long time that can be overwhelming just let me know and ill get them to leave”. Knowing Buck was the right and he knew that he could trust him Ravi lays beside him on the bed “we got this” “yeah we do” he taps on his hand “besides in the morning we move in together like officially i’m excited” Buck smiles softly “of course my love”. 

(The next morning Moving In 6am Friday) 

As the moon disappears the sun peeks only slightly Buck gets up from his deep slumber he kisses Ravi neck and that makes his laugh “wake up beautiful come on”. They go back to the loft and load up what was left all they need to get out was the heavy stuff “okay the loveseat can definitely go we have a couch and the tv stand is out too” “everything in the boxes can be loaded up” Athena walks in behind them “seems like Buck has more stuff then I counted” she walks over giving them both a hug “yea Buck what’s up with all the junk man” Chimney steps over a big box loaded with cooking utensils and pots. He sees that reorganizing is in order before they load everything up “Okay so let’s start with the small boxes a-“ “hey guys whoa uhhh” Bobby and Eddie walk in so do Hen, and Karen. They all look shocked and then they all look at Buck “I know what it looks like the closet was packed I really didn’t count on it” Athena pats his shoulder “looks like we got some work to do” 

(30 minutes later after rearranging) 

They start loaded everything that’s going to Ravi’s house in their cars its was 10am the sun was hitting Buck’s face the jeep front was opened Ravi was sitting in the passenger while May, and Harry were in the backseat. Pulling up in the driveway Buck unlocks the front door and everyone unloads.

Unpacking was probably the easy thing to do then it came to rearranging how the furniture would go Athena was yelling at Bobby and Chim about the bed and how to place it while Eddie, and Karen were displaying the decor. Ravi was sorting the kitchen supplies while Harry, and May are sorting the plants in the garden. Buck took the keys and placed his box on the counter then he went to help Ravi with their closet placing their clothes in order. 

After everything was finished they took a look around “not bad guys thank you for helping us everyone and just in time it’s almost 12”. Ravi and Buck had already told everyone about their parents visiting on the same day but at different times so they knew they wanted to help them out. Athena looks at the two “remember if you need back up we’re here for you” “yeah im gonna get changed and come back bringing jee of course but I’ll steal some food after”.

Hen slaps Chim’s arm “Oww oh come on” Hen sneers at Chim “don’t mind him but remember Karen and I can bring some weapons on us”. Bobby hugs “we love you both call us if you need anything Kid and watch out for Ravi for us see you guys Monday”. May gives Buck a charm symbolizing their garden a lavender flower with four leaf clover sliver wrapped. Harry hugs him while Eddie takes a fruit off the table and wishes them good luck “if you need call love you guys good luck”. 

( 2pm Dinner Time ) Buck’s Parents first 

Buck squeezes his eyes he hasn’t even told his parents he was dating let alone Bisexual I wonder what words or side notes they’ll have loaded up. Maddie was going to be there sad news on his end and Chim along with Jee so he’d have back up Ravi was with him so no worries right. *KNOCK ON THE DOOR*

”It’s okay just breathe Buck” so he does and Ravi opens the door “Hello Mr. And Ms. Buckley nice to meet you” Margret stuffs up her nose at him “who are you” “oh I-“ Before Ravi could answer Buck leans in “he’s my boyfriend mom” His father scoffs and walks inside “your still going through that phase huh”. Ravi rolls his eyes and sees Chim and Jee pull up while Maddie parks behind them “oh hey they’re here” Margret glances at Ravi as he walks out “you realize that he can’t be living here with you” “He is mom this is his house after all” she rolls her eyes “so what’s for dinner”. Chim, Maddie and Jee trail inside Chim puts her down and she runs straight to Ravi “Ravi” “Hello princess how are you” “Good Buck, Buck” “Jee how’s my favorite niece” “Good dinner ready” “yes dinner is ready”. He puts her down and his father glances at him while his mother whispers. 

Ravi has the table set and ready “alright everyone ready to eat” they sit down “the food looks amazing Ravi” “thanks Chim actually Bobby helped me out he made the pasta”. 

Buck twirls his fork around and looks over at Ravi who is smiling and talking with Chim while Maddie whispers to her mom and dad about something “so Buck how are you and Ravi adjusting to the move in you guys doing okay” Chim smiles at him and Jee is playing with her food. Buck perks up “it’s going great me and Ravi have officially settled in together” “The best part is Buck is here with me I think that’s all I care about” he kisses Buck’s forehead and goes to the kitchen to get the dessert. 

*Buck is so Buck he needs me today* “hey Ravi need any help” Chim offers some help with the pans of pie, strawberry cream cake he and Buck made “yea sure here take these and ill take this”. Philip looks over at Buck “Well Evan never took you for the type to cook or him” “his name is Ravi dad and yea I learned from Ravi and Bobby” “Bobby?” “My captain at the 118” Chim frowns one brow up “Bobby taught all of us something but his cooking can’t beat”. Margret sticks her face up “let’s just hope the desserts are good” “mom” “what that was a compliment” “no it wasn’t” she scoffs at him and waves her hand “come here jee” “no no” jee waves her finger and goes to Buck “Unc Buck hurt” “no jee im not so you ready for dessert” “YEA”. 

Ravi places the cake on the table and Chim put the pies down too “alright everyone dessert is ready oh Buck can I talk to you in the back for a minute” “yea of course” they go out the back where the courtyard garden is “what’s wrong you okay” “yeah but if you want them to leave early give me a tug I feel like their already being disrespectful and Maddie hasn’t said one word since she’s been here kinda of odd” “yeah your right okay few more minutes if they start to get serious than ill tell you”. 

They go back inside and find that their parents are up going into the different rooms “didn’t think this was dinner and a house tour but okay that’s Buck and my room Ill just close this” he tries to close their bedroom door when Margret side eye him “oh come on your living together right might as well see what you two have stored in their probably a sex room”.

Buck’s anger reveals itself “MOM ENOUGH alright dinner is over I have had it with you guys and your smart fucking comments I told you already we live together but that doesn’t mean you can invade our personal area god all day with rude comments and insults im sick of it” “not like you gave us a choice here son your dating another man and now you both live together but your sister mentioned you were on a date or something”. Maddie glares at Buck and he glares back “yea and Maddie was very disrespectful there too and I know about Daniel did she tell you that”.

Margret’s eyes grow wide “you told him WHY MADDIE” “Mom im sorry I was angry Buck was ignoring me so-“ “you were never supposed to find out about him at all” “idc about Daniel im sorry you lost the son you like and favored but my entire life has been ruined by the both of you and your actions”. Buck grabs Ravi’s hand “like or fucking not Ravi is my partner I love him regardless of what your opinions are he’s mine if you hurt him in anyway we’ll just hope your dead before I find you”. He walks over back to the table grabbing his phone and back to them. 

Philip moves over “what have we done so bad to you Evan only love you, care for you, cover up your secrets like this for one and let alone a dangerous job your getting hurt every where you go” “yeah but I did it for attention to gain your love when I was getting hurt as a kid that was how you showed buying me things to make up for where you fucking screwed up” “Buck you can blame them I mean you turned into a hotheaded sexual freak”. Buck shrinks back into himself lost for words “well now you’ve ruined dinner” his mother makes him move out of her way as she travels into the living room.

Chim’s jaw clenches and Ravi’s eyes fall “he’s not that anymore that was Buck 1.0 he’s Buck 4.0 he’s brave and intelligent where ever he goes love follows him that’s just who is he’s Buck never fails to do what’s right in his heart he feeds you when your hurting he checks under jee’s bed at night for monsters helps me out every time he can”. Ravi smiles at Chim’s words “when I met Buck I saw that the man wouldn’t hurt a fucking soul he was there when I needed him he held me when I couldn’t breath he deserves loving people in his life like me, Chim, Bobby, Eddie, Athena and Hen the only person I see that is sexual freak is you Maddie did you tell your parents how your cheating on Chim huh explain that”. He motions the three to the door “your son is the best thing that has come into my life I think you three should get out Maddie if you want to see Jee tell us or Chim”. 

He closes the door and watch them go to their cars leaving down the road. Buck hugs him giving him a kiss on the cheek “you are the best both of you are I can’t thank you enough” “it’s okay Buck we’re family and we got your back always oh crap we gotta get going I promised Eddie tomorrow Chris and Jee would go to the zoo with Harry and May”. They let Chim and Jee out closing the door behind them. “Well dinner was uhh-“ “a shit show” He nods “yup definitely I guess we clean this stuff up and say watch some movies” “deal”. 

(30 minutes later it’s 5pm) 

Ravi is snugged in under neath Buck his phone buzzes 

Mom : we will be there tomorrow instead be prepared I have a surprise for you on your best behavior 

He responds and closes his phone falling asleep near Buck

Ravi & Buck's House 9pm Friday 

As the night overcame them both sleeping in each other’s comfort and Buck’s snoring in Ravi’s ear didn’t really bother him at all dreaming wasn’t being kind to him. He tossed in his sleep a nightmare that seemed to real *no no no* a small scream and he awakens Buck still asleep beside him. Ravi looks around the room and nothing there no person lurking in the dark, no ghost in the corner. He sees that Luna was missing from her sleeping spot so getting up from the bed, walking to the kitchen to find her bowl was still full. He called her name in every room quietly as to not wake Buck -Luna, Luna, where are you- searching every corner he decides to check the back yard for her maybe he left the back door opened. Finding her sniffing a small trinket it was a silver mermaid she had blue and green moss melted into her hair “huh this must be May’s I’ll give it to Athena tomorrow”. 

He looks at Luna who yawns and tilts her head “next time me and Buck will make sure the doors are all closed come on girl back to bed”. Buck is in the frame of the door as he walks in “hey hey you okay why are you and Luna out here” “I had a nightmare and Luna was out here sniffing flowers” “you wanna talk about it” “I-no maybe in the morning come on let’s go back to bed”. 

Saturday Morning 9am 

Rain drips on the window and fog appears in the morning grass rising up Ravi opens the curtains and prepares for his parent’s visit. Buck wakes as he enters the living room seeing that Ravi is panicking. He makes him stop sweeping “hey hey stop stop Ravi breathe relax I got you love” wrapping his arms around him pulling Ravi into his chest “it’s okay” “no no Buck I’m freaking out so much they’ll be here in a few hours”. Buck feels the weight Ravi is feeling he understands the fear of trying to make amends “okay today I will be your panic blanket and plus it’s only scary when you don't talk about says every therapist and Chris this visit is making you shake I’ve never seen you this upset”. 

He nods and smiles his eyes filled with tears sitting down on the couch. Buck sits beside him and rubs his back “okay you told me about your parents let me tell you about mine but just know it’s nothing pretty” Buck nods his head motioning Ravi to begin. 

Ravi clears his throat and sighs “you know how they say parents supposed to love their kids” “yeah” “well mine hated me but that didn't stop me from loving them until my birthday of course” “trauma usually starts on a happy day” Ravi nods “yeah but this one was worse I had just turned 7 my parents had said they were taking me to the book store, and then to the fire station for a tour ironic right but unfortunately our car was getting fixed so the bus was our only way around at the time. My mother was very cold to me only noticed me when she wanted to the day before my birthday I had all A’s on my progress report which was all her and my day talked to me about I complained none really. I asked my dad for money to grab a soda from the machine it was inside the bus building so when I left.

I caught a glimpse of them arguing and pointing at one another but figured it was just them bickering again” “your parents seem very disrespectful only caring about grades was the least of my parents worry they just wanted me gone”. Buck moves on the couch more and so does Ravi.

He swallows at the words “well it was the only way to get their attention so I kept up my grades and get rewarded” “this sounds similar to how Margret and Philip were with me accept I got broken bones and gift baskets” they both share a laugh “it was hard but anyway I come back out the building and my mom looks at me with disappointment, disgust same with my dad I didn’t understand so yeah and my mom bends down our bus had just pulled up we were first in line to get on but she looks and say ^your staying here you’ve been a nightmare for us^.

My face was still and sunken my ears were tuned off for a second and then my dad pulls me to the side ^be worthless somewhere else you aren’t going anywhere^. Buck’s eyes look teary and red almost he looks at him holds his hand “that wasn’t the part that made me feel alone” “How the Fuck could they say that your their son” “no not to them I wasn’t I watched them get on the bus at that time I was crying and jumping at my mother to let me on she slaps me to the ground my dad pushed me back outside on the curb while the bus driver looks to busy to even care”.

Buck gets up and paces around “was there anyone on the bus that noticed did anyone stop them” “no all by standers maybe it was out of fear or just because they could care less after that I saw the bus drive away got up but I didn’t run after it like the movies or tragic cases seen on tv or news channels I stayed put and sat waiting watched people passing me by until the night took over my sight”.

He recalls every moment of that night “I waited and waited until I noticed the bus station was still opened no one was there but I saw the maps and took one opened it up and saw the fire station wasn’t far from me so I walked there in the dead of night”

He sees Buck lower his eyes “that must’ve been scary for you how did you manage” “with the hope of being noticed I guess I was whispering a small mantra to myself - endure the dark a little more then the light will shine once more - I kept repeating this over and over some guy passed me asked if I was okay but I kept walking then I saw the fire station it was the 126”.

Ravi wipes tears out of his eyes Buck pulls him in “you don’t have to keep going if-“ “no it’s fine after I told them what happened and from then everything was different a few days later got placed into foster care it was a cycle of verbal abuse the last one I was at was physical starve case when I was 16 I was gone I left got out it was hard to trust anyone. 

"Though Buck being afraid all the time wasn’t on my plate but-“ “it was I'm sorry you went through that all of it must’ve been hard but even harder now that your parent’s are coming here I feel you tense when someone screams at you or when you seem out of it”. 

Ravi reels back “I do but you know it’s different with the 118 and you everyone makes me feel safe and easy to talk to when you feel down or stressed I feel we all know our lives together” “that’s true were are a family whether we like or not” laughter fills them. Buck steals a chip off the table bowl “now your home with us with me I feel I can grab the moon for you Ravi every minute you stop my heart” “as you do mine Evan” a kiss shared between them. Buck gets up “well it’s time love up we go they’ll be here in a an hour Ravi nods “we got this” “remember if you want them gone let me know you don’t have to go through it alone” he nods and they get ready.

Evening 4pm ( ravi’s parents arrive) 

They start placing the silver utensils where each plate is set food already on them and everything in set. Buck takes out the cake placing it on the kitchen counter while Ravi hears the door bell he opens it “Bobby, Athena your here thank you for joining us” Athena and Bobby hug them both Athena notices that Ravi is pacing “anytime are you and Buck ready or sweating every minute”. Buck tilts his head “uuuhhhh how about both especially Ravi” “he’s right they’ll be here in 30 minutes Buck is the cake ready” “yeah it just some chocolate on top”. He sprinkles some chocolate on top of the cake and Bobby helps by checking on the rest of the food. 

*Knock on the Front door* 

Ravi’s heart throbs a bit then stops when Buck grabs his hand “hey it’s gonna be fine we got this” he breathes in and exhales. Bobby looks worried while Athena looks irritated at the door Buck opens it and Ravi’s mother and father walk in. His mother eyes speak anger and coldness only he would know “hello Mom, hello dad how are you” he reaches for her hand but she moves past him which only shock Buck, Athena and Bobby. His father does the same “so this is your house” “yes” “and who are your guests I see you forgotten manners too” *only to you* “mom, dad these are my friends we all work together this is Athena, Bobby and Buck” “Athena is a sergeant and Bobby is captain of the 118 the fire house I work at and this is Buck he’s my boyfriend”. Athena, Bobby and Buck say hello to them and try to shake their hands but fail. 

His mom looks enraged and his dad looks shocked “your boyfriend you say” “Im Buck nice to meet you both” “yes you as well I guess since you’ve suprised us with sin we have a surprise for you Ravi we didn’t think you would mind but we have an extra guest joining us”.

They all look stunned except for his parents Athena gasp “so we all heard that am I correct you said with sin I see none here miss-“ “Diana sergeant” “you realize love comes in every shape, form and human being I’m supposed” “correct you are but maybe I have different views” “apparently”. Bobby clears his throat “you have to know Ravi is family here always will be and you being disrespectful I don’t care if you wear a cross everyday and call yourselves saints your wrong just saying”.

Buck is holding Ravi clear for his parents to sneer and make a face “the way you shoved past him said it all in my face apology probably aren’t your best right hate brings your true nature out is what some say”. 

They scoff and walk over to the kitchen area but then his mother glanced to the back yard door "what's out there" Ravi tenses and goes over to her "the garden is" "huh didn't take you for a flower person" "maybe you wouldve if you'd raised me" "careful your time is reaching". Buck sniffs his nose "nah maybe yours is diana assuming being polite and formal is out the window" "agreed". 

Ravi opened the back door and they all walk outside the garden spreads over and leads to the woods however a fence blocks it. It was big and beautiful surrounded by flowers of choice and love was definitely put into it.

A fountain sits in the middle and well as a wooden standing arch far out a mermaid statue pond on the right small and easy filled with small fish. 

She glimpses around "Aris what do you think" "hmm needs to be redone in my opinion dear". 

Ravi remembers Athena told him May planted marigolds around the mermaid pond *lovely in my mind hold your peace Ravi*. He tries finding solitude in how Buck is speaking with both Athena and Bobby he walks over to the while his parents are still talking. 

Buck is really pissed by their behavior "don't worry they'll eat and be gone soon". Bobby rubs his neck "you can only hope one of us doesn't hurt them first" they smile and then Buck goes into the living room being greeted by a man "who the hell are you".

Kai lifts his hand up "hello I'm Kai I think my husband lives here" 

Standing stunned the others come back in Ravi is schocked but his parents are not. His mother stiffs her nose "Ravi meet Kai Ghost Gupta your betrothal" 

Ravi's face aches "MY WHAT"
