She’d only mean to grab a glass of water from their kitchen.
Last night had gone really well with her actually meeting Eddie’s Uncle, they’d chatted and played some old board games before Wayne had had to leave for his shift at the local plant, but not before smiling at them both and sending Eddie a good natured wink which left them both slightly redder in the face, Eddie’s mouth hanging open slightly in shock.
Which… okay, one thing had led to another after that and her and Eddie were in bed again. She loved these mornings with him were neither of them had anywhere to go or do, which was rarer considering the more secret nature of their relationship. She wasn’t ashamed of Eddie, at all. It was just… she had no idea how to tell her parents. Gossip in Hawkins tended to have a bad habit of taking less than a day before it reached your families dining room table at supper.
But Eddie always seemed to understand. He never judged her about anything really, Eddie had this way about him where she’d say something in the beginning that she was sure to get a frown, an eye roll or some shocked/ ashamed expression if it were anybody else, but from Eddie he’d just grin that Eddie Munson smile of his all open, sweet and gleefully scandalized, run those Bambi brown eyes of his across her face before continuing on with a joke or a kiss or some other theatrics that always made her giggle.
She can’t remember ever having been this happy before. She was just so in love. She hadn’t told Eddie this yet, she was just too scared on how that would change things from how they were already going which was just so perfect, anything that would break their little bubble they were in just didn’t seem worth the risk to her. Eddie meant so much to her.
Its just … as much as Eddie would never judge her, he’d have this way of talking about himself that seemed like he didn’t really get the reason they weren’t public yet. It was in the way he’d comment about them as ‘the Freak and the Cheer Captain’ or the ‘Metalhead and the Prom Queen’. Hell, sometimes even when he said their names together it sounded like he couldn’t believe it was real that they were together, which she knows she should get, it wasn’t a match she herself could ever really have predicted of happening despite her long term crush on the guy , but …
She knew Eddie wanted her, she could see it in his eyes where he kept all his warmth and his love, surely she was just being silly focusing on all the wrong stuff, but it itched at her the thought that thought that he believed she was ashamed of him.
Still as she woke up in Eddie’s bed that morning all these thoughts seemed so far away, and she could just rest her head on his chest with her arms hooked around him and breathe.
“Hmmmmphmm morning.” The boy stirred beneath her, his words coming out more as a throaty groan than a greeting from his deep sleep, as he softly ran his hand up and down her arm, his eyes still closed.
“Morning.” She returned kissing him gently from her position on top of him twisting around to reach his face.
“Hmmm, fancy round three?” He grinned from beneath her, his lashes flittering open to better see her, bringing her tighter against him with one arm and tucking back her messy bed head and cradling her face with the other.
“Well I don’t know,” she teased laughing slightly, “Do you think you’re up for it?”
He kissed her firmly and assuredly, morning breath be dammed, tongue circling her mouth whilst his hands ran around her body, the kiss shortly breaking due to Chrissy’s total inability to not smile around him.
“Okay, okay you’ve convinced me.” She giggles, her laugh light and happy as she pulls herself up off him , his mouth following hers as she goes.
“I’m just going to grab some water, I’ll be right back Eddie.” Laughing again as he sits up seemingly attempting to pull her back into bed with him by not letting go of her hand.
“Okay, okay Pompoms, me too I’ll just be a minute…” He responds letting go, appearing to search around the room for his pants, Chrissy herself donning his Hellfire shirt from last night.
“Alright…”
She crosses the hallway in only her underwear and Eddies shirt, before jumping at the sight of Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, Jonathan Byers and Robin Buckley along with even more kids to her left all staring back at her, their eyes popping out their heads.
A very long moment passes.
"Uh, hello?" Chrissy tries giving them a light wave, pulling down slightly at her shirt.
That seems to break some of them out of it Byers, Wheeler and some of the younger looking ones seeming to remember her current state and looking away, but not all.
"Umm-" She was just about to ask what any of them could be doing this early in the day in Eddie's kitchen or how any of them even got in or why, when she hears her own name being called from down the hallway.
"Chrissy, baby, could we possibly put on some pancakes before we-" he stops mid sentence, halfway through buckling his belt back through his jeans.
