The whisper grew, echoing off the broken walls, building to a crescendo, the staccato of panting breaths keeping in rhythm with the wind’s urgent cry. Moonlight flashed in faded blue eyes as they turned pleading to the moon above.
…run!
Their prison of Red Lights left behind them, Chan and Hyunjin follow a call as they desperately seek to escape the burning world around them, guided by the moon and their love for each other. Involves my own loose interpretation of wolf and moon mythology.

This, the second arc of the writer's multi-chapter "What if" story based on the SKZ music video "Escape," (itself the second arc in Bang Chan's and Hyunjin's Red Lights series, per Chan), is a worthy continuation of her initial arc, in "A Prison of Red Lights." Her world-building increases, as does her interpretation of the Hyunjin character's growth from unreliable narrator to a fully realized three-dimensional character. The growth of Chan's character also increases in a believable, organic way. I created this bookmark even before I completed the story - that's how impressed I have been with the writer's own growth. Go, read; I don't think you'll be disappointed.
