"Thank you for letting us stay here for a few days, Leona," Yūken said as he untied the laces of his moccasins to take them off.
"Now, now, whatever. Just remember that you can stay here the three days of the time to fulfill the contract. Then, out", replied the housewarden of Savanaclaw while taking off his gloves.
Yūken sketched a tired smile before nodding and taking off his shoes, carefully leaving them on one side of the bed where he would sleep. He looked at Grim, who had already easily succumbed and snored while babbling in dreams.
"I hope I can solve this mess," the housewarden of Ramshackle mused before taking off his uniform jacket and leaving it aside, on a chair.
Leona frowned and turned to look at the boy while unbuttoning his vest: Yūken had his eyes fixed on the floor, but the older one thought he saw a great sadness in them. The housewarden made a grimace as he turned his gaze to the buttons of his vest before stopping, clicking his tongue, rolling his head in a full circle and turning entirely towards Yūken to tell him:
"Eh, herbivore," when Yūken raised his head, the rector of Savanaclaw frowned slightly and whispered: "Is everything okay?"
"Huh? Yes, why do you ask?”, Yūken smiled, but that didn't convince Leona. After all, he was the king of masks, so he could see again the sadness in the false smile of the first-year student. Again, he looked at his eyes, now watery.
Leona parted his lips and relaxed his facial expression, unable to help but think what was going through Yūken's head. Maybe it was the possibility of being kicked out of his bedroom for making a contract with Azul? The possibility of losing all the little he had in that world? Was there any other heavy load on his shoulders apart from the one he had to endure by being in his hands the opportunity to save the people that Azul had deceived?
The man clenched his fists before sighing and saying:
"For nothing, just... Hey, don't keep the problems too much, okay? If you talk to someone, you'll feel better”, then, he bit his inner cheek before sighing and adding: “And if you need anything, you can count on your elders, like me, okay?”
Yūken let out a sigh accompanied by a small and short laugh before smiling, this time seriously, and saying:
"Thank you."
"But I'm not going to give you more days in this bedroom, don't even think about it," Leona said quickly, making Yūken laugh again.
"Okay, I'll keep it in mind."
Leona relaxed his shoulders when he heard that sincere laugh, and for an instant, just for a moment, he felt good for having made the other a little happy.
