Work Text:
Peggy carefully applied her red lipstick on the mirror like she’d done countless times before. Tonight, she felt pressure to look her best. She had a date.
Peggy was wearing dress pants and a fancy blouse, sticking to the style that was now retro. She checked her hair before putting on a hat and opening the door.
“Hey, I was just going to knock.” It was Natasha Romanoff, hair pinned back and dressed in a tight black dress that made Peggy’s words catch in her throat. Nat was so effortlessly beautiful and stylish, along with being able to do anything in heels. Her lips were curled into a smirk, looking up and down Peggy with a mysterious look in her eyes.
“You look beautiful, as always,” Peggy said, and Nat looked a bit shy at the compliment.
“Thank you. You too, love the hat.”
Peggy blushed.
“Shall we go?” Nat nodded and Peggy led her down the hallway. They were headed to a charity ball held by Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, but mostly by Pepper. Tony was the face, but Peggy knew Pepper was doing the real business behind the scenes.
Peggy was tempted to hold Nat’s hand or touch the small of her back, but she was worried it would be too forward. Ever since they’d found the Iron Stomper and the Red Room, things had been a bit tense.
“I am not looking forward to small talk with a bunch of rich douchebags,” Nat said as Peggy opened the door to their car for her. Peggy slid in after her, glad there was space in the car so they wouldn’t touch. Or maybe she wanted to touch. She couldn’t tell.
Peggy was from a different time where she didn’t consider kissing her girl friends. She hadn’t known that was an option.
“I can always come up with an excuse to steal you away,” Peggy replied.
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
Peggy found her gaze slipping to the gap between the hem of Nat’s dress and her thigh high boots. She tore her eyes away, hoping Nat didn’t notice. She knew what it was like to be a desirable woman working with mostly men and how uncomfortable their gazes were.
“How have you been, Peg? Since Steve and the Red Room."
“I’ve been fine. It’s strange to grieve someone you’ve already grieved for.”
“I know.”
“We make a good team, though. And if Steve is out there, we’ll find him.”
“I’m sure we will,” Nat said with a smile. The rest of the car ride was in silence until they got to Stark Tower, which was in the process of being turned into Avengers Tower. Peggy didn’t see the use for an Avengers building. Stark seemed to be the only one excited about it.
Peggy stepped out of the car and held out her hand for Nat. Her dress slipped further up her thighs as she stepped out, causing Peggy to turn her head away to keep from looking.
“What are you doing?” Nat asked.
“I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
Nat looked surprised and then her eyebrows furrowed.
“Why would you make me uncomfortable?”
“I see the way men stare at you, and I know what it’s like. I don’t want to look at you in the same way.”
“Peggy, it’s not the same way.”
Nat took Peggy’s hand and they walked into the tower, squinting from paparazzi camera flashes.
“If Stark really cared about the charity, he wouldn’t have invited so much press,” Peggy said. Nat stifled a laugh.
“I like how blunt you are, Peg. You tell it like it is.”
“I do, don’t I?” Peggy smiled to herself, but it immediately dropped when she saw Tony spot them from across the room.
“Captain!” He said, arms wide as he approached them. “And Agent Romanoff.”
“Nice party, Tony,” Nat said sarcastically.
“I’m going to take that at face value, thank you. Now that I have you two, can we talk about your rooms at the tower?”
“Our rooms?” Peggy asked, surprised.
“All the Avengers get rooms. That’s why it’s Avengers Tower,” Tony said like it was obvious. He grabbed a champagne flute from a waiter passing by.
“My biggest dream, being Tony Stark's neighbor,” Nat said. “Can I get a mini fridge?”
“Sure.”
“A mini fridge? I want one too.”
“Okay, two mini fridges coming right up. Need anything else? Training equipment?”
“Actually, I…” before Peggy could finish, Tony was chasing after an attractive young woman. “Great.”
“Welcome to the Avengers,” Nat said, heading to the bar. She ordered drinks for the two of them and they drank and people-watched.
Soon, it was time for Tony Stark to do a speech, which was entertaining because he was obviously going off script while Pepper fumbled with cue cards.
“I don’t know how she does it,” Peggy said. “I can’t stand being around the man for one mission, much less being his girlfriend.”
“You knew his dad, right? Was he the same way?”
“Yes, but he had to work to get where he is. I don’t think Tony worked a day in his life before becoming Iron Man.”
“Are you a Capitalist, Captain?” Nat asked with a smirk. “Maybe we should start calling you Captain America.”
“No, I just think Tony needs to be taken down a peg.”
“I’m sure you’ll do just that next time the Avengers assemble.”
“Speaking of Avengers, have you seen any of the others here? Is it just us and Stark?” Peggy asked, looking around.
“Thor’s off world, Banner doesn’t like parties, and Clint… I don’t know where Clint is, actually.”
“Great, he would be one of the only people I’d like to talk to.”
“Am I not entertaining enough for you, Peg?” Nat asked flirtatiously.
“No, you’re amazing. I’m lucky to have a friend like you.” Peggy placed her hand on Nat’s back without thinking. Nat turned to face her, staring at her lips.
“I like your lipstick, it’s new, right?”
“Yes, a slightly different shade. You noticed?”
“Of course I noticed.”
Peggy and Nat stared at each other for a moment before Rhodey interrupted.
“Sorry to interrupt, guys, but Tony wants to bring the Avengers onstage.”
Peggy and Nat exchanged a glance before following Rhodey behind the stage.
“I present to you, Captain Carter and Black Widow of the Avengers!” Tony announced. He gestured to Peggy and Nat as they came onstage. “Your donations tonight will help with recovery from the Battle of New York, where we, along with the rest of the Avengers, saved the world.”
The crowd applauded and Peggy shifted nervously. She knew she deserved praise, but it always felt strange to be rewarded for doing the right thing. Doing it was the reward.
Peggy and Nat left the stage with Pepper’s direction and Nat took Peggy’s hand, leading her away from the crowd.
“Let’s get out of here.”
Peggy and Nat used their spy skills to sneak into the elevator and up to Tony’s penthouse. The last time they’d been there, it had been to arrest Loki.
“Looks like they’re done with repairs.” Nat leaned against the bar, facing Peggy. Her casual pose and sexy energy made Peggy’s heart race. She walked closer to Nat until she could smell her perfume.
“Natasha, I need to tell you something,” Peggy said seriously.
“Shoot.”
“I feel something when I’m around you. Like there’s a magnetic force pulling me to you, making me notice every detail, analyze every brush of skin. When I’m lying awake at night, it’s you that I fantasize about. And when you wear a dress like that, it drives me mad.”
“Really?” Nat’s eyes were wide, looking up at Peggy without a smile. “What about Steve?”
“I don’t even know if he’s out there. And if he is, I don’t know if I’d want to be any more than friends with him.”
“Peggy, I…”
“I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable. It’s just that…”
Nat interrupted Peggy with a kiss. She pulled Peggy against her by her waist. Peggy steadied herself against the bar, pinning Nat against it. Peggy had never felt a kiss as tender and passionate as this before, Nat’s hands on her back pulling her close. Nat’s breasts pressed against Peggy, sending a warm feeling through her body. Peggy feared she would melt right there. She unbuttoned the top of her blouse to keep the heat from overwhelming her.
“Can I touch you?” Peggy breathed.
“Yes.”
Peggy placed her hands on Nat’s waist, but they soon slipped down to hold her ass. One of Peggy’s hands slipped under Nat’s dress, fingertips pressing into the soft flesh of her thigh. Nat smiled, holding onto Peggy’s neck and tossing off her hat. As they pulled back for air, Peggy’s eyes traveled to Nat’s rising and falling chest. Peggy kissed down Nat’s neck and into her cleavage, leaving lipstick stains on her skin.
“Yes,” Nat gasped as Peggy started sucking on her skin. She had imagined this moment so many times, but reality was even better. “Peggy, have you ever had sex with a woman?”
“No,” Peggy said between kisses on Nat’s neck.
“Do you want to?”
Peggy stared at Nat with a mix of excitement and bewilderment.
“Yes. Yes, please show me. But not in Tony Stark’s penthouse, I want it to be romantic.”
“I don’t need romance, just you.” Nat looked up at Peggy with hunger in her eyes and Peggy knew what she wanted. All Peggy wanted was to make Nat feel good. And to taste every inch of her. Nat kissed Peggy, sloppy and wet, consumed by her lust.
“Tell me what feels good,” Peggy said, dropping to her knees. She looked up at Nat, determined to do a good job. Peggy easily lifted Nat onto her shoulders, leaning against the bar, folding her skirt up so she could slide off her underwear. Peggy’s heart raced as she placed a delicate kiss on Nat’s privates, making Nat shiver from anticipation.
“Your tongue, your mouth, anything, here,” Nat said, pointing to her clit. “And in me, if you want.”
Peggy kissed Nat’s thighs before lightly running her tongue around her clit.
“Yes, like that.” Nat’s hands were in Peggy’s hair as she found Nat’s opening with her finger and slowly pressed it in, feeling the way Nat’s body tightened around her.
“Is this alright?”
“Yes, god Peg, keep going.”
Peggy continued teasing Nat’s clit with her mouth as she stroked her with her finger. She slid a second finger inside, stimulating Nat from the inside and outside.
Nat tugged on her hair, breathless and panting. Peggy was a natural. Nat bucked her hips desperately, biting back moans.
“Right there,” Nat gasped as Peggy’s fingers glided over her sweet spot. Peggy made sure to hit it every time she bent her fingers, feeling the way Nat’s thighs squeezed against her. “I’m close, baby.”
“Good girl. Come for me,” Peggy said, looking up at Nat. She pressed her tongue directly into Nat’s clit, causing her to release. Nat arched her back and called out Peggy’s name.
Peggy slowly lowered Nat onto the ground, holding her up as she caught her breath.
Nat opened her eyes to see liquid dribbling down Peggy’s chin and she wiped it away before kissing her softly.
“Let me get you off,” Nat said sweetly, smiling. The way she had called her name rang in Peggy’s ears, making her core burn hotter.
Before Nat could touch her, the elevator dinged. Peggy stepped in front of Nat, guarding her as she slipped back on her underwear. Happy Hogan came out of the elevator, looking annoyed.
“I can’t handle real security issues if you Avengers keep trespassing!” He said. Peggy checked that Nat was decent and picked up her hat.
“Sorry, we didn’t know this was off limits,” she said politely.
“Captain, Agent, you need to get down to the party. This isn’t your tower yet.” Happy’s eyes widened as Nat stepped in front of Peggy, noticing how disheveled they both were and the lipstick stains on Nat’s skin.
“Thank you for coming to get us, Happy. We were just exploring the tower.” Nat placed a hand on Happy’s shoulder and they walked back to the elevator. It was an awkwardly silent ride down, but as soon as Happy disappeared, Peggy and Nat laughed.
“Did you see his face?” Peggy asked.
“I bet he’s never seen a woman sexually fulfilled before.” Nat took Peggy’s hand. “Let’s go back to my place.”
“I would like that.”
