Chapter Text

“Osora” Arias said as he opened the door for the angry blonde.

“Arias” They marched in heading right for Arias’s couch, making themselves comfortable.

“Your sister texted and said that you would try to commit arson by cooking in my kitchen” Arias laughed sitting next to them.

“She’s a liar” They huffed. “Apparently I almost started a grease fire, but I was not going to commit arson” They yelled.

“Maybe don’t yell that so loud, I do have neighbors you know”

Osora just slouched further down the couch.

“I was going to make something, you still hungry?” Arias asked, going over to the small kitchen.

Osora immediately gets up to follow, “Can you teach me?” They asked wrapping their arms around Arias from behind.

“Teach you what?”

“How to cook, that's all Celia talks about lately.” Osora mumbles. “And I want to prove her wrong”

“I should've known that you’d only want to learn something new out of spite,” Arias laughed, moving for the fridge.

Arias had started showing them how to make a curry. Giving them instruction about how to cut the ingredients, and other little points of guidance.

“I don’t think the issue is that you don’t know how to cook. I mean anyone can read a recipe” Arias said as scoped rice into some bowls. “I think your just distracted too easily, and never gave yourself a shot”

“Maybe, but it’s so much easier when someone does it for you” They said, dishing the curry over the rice.

“Yeah that sounds like a different problem” Arias laughs to himself.

He had walked over to the table, always insisting that Osora take the good chair. By the good chair it was actually the only chair in the apartment, and so when Osora started coming round more he had stacked some boxes to form a makeshift seat.

It worked well enough for now, even though Osora had always teased him for it once they had started going out.

“You could get a plastic chair, they don’t cost that much you know.”

“Probably less than you spend on coffee in a week, maybe you should buy one” Arias shot back.

“I don’t even live here” Osora said boardly before focusing on their food.

Arias had wanted to say something back, he had wanted to ask Osora to move in with him. But he was wary, he knew Osora was happy living with their sister.

After everything that went down with their dad, and the two moved out together, Arias didn’t want to feel like he was pulling Osora apart from their family before they wanted to.

So he would wait.

“Celia was acting weird today” Osora stated out of nowhere when they had finished the bowl of food.

“You always say she’s weird”

“Yeah but she was acting weird, there’s a difference” They retorted.

“And do you know why?”

“Of course I do, she tried to ask dad to come to her wedding and he said no, again” Arias could tell the words had hurt Osora to say them out loud.

“She’s tired so hard to get him to come around over and over again, and he always mocks her.” They said sadly, as Arias recalled the conversation the two ahd the night before. “And she won’t talk to me about it”

Osora had pushed out of their place at the table, and wandered over to the couch, grabbing a blanket and wrapping it tightly around themselves flopping over.

With a sigh Arias followed behind them over to the couch, before sitting up his blanket boyfriend burrito. “Do you wanna talk about it?”

“I feel like she forgets that we both grew up in that house, but still pretends that I’m something fragile” They started, leaning to rest their head on Airas’s shoulder.

“Maybe she just wants to protect you”

“I don’t need protecting”

“What a pair you two are then” Airas had to stop himself from laughing.

Someone who is trying to put on all faces to save them, and another is that is set on not being sheltered. What a pair, no matter they fought constantly.

“Have you told her to stop?” He asks plainly.

“No- but that’s only because she never lets me talk about it with her.” They huff. “I wish she would. It’s no secret our dad sucks, he kicked me out for fucks sake. But I thought at the very least I could complain about it with her.”

“Have you considered that she’s not ready to talk about it?”

Osora thought about it for a moment, before breaking out of the blanket burrito to grab a pillow and wack Arias with it. “You were just supposed to agree with me”

“Is that all I am to you?” Arias accused. “Just someone that is supposed to agree with you?” He asked jokingly.

“Certainly not, but you’re supposed to pick my side every once and a while.” They huffed, being greeted by a pillow to the face.

“I told you you’re always distracted.”

With that Osora lept for the next pillow to get their revenge. Arias could only laugh as he was attacked with the pillows, trying his best to fend them off. Which eventually led to Osora being pinned under Arias as they finally gave up.

“I give, you win” They muttered.

“I’m sorry what was that” Arias called mockingly.

“You win,” they said once more, rolling their eyes. “You oaf”

Once they had both sat up Osora went to grab their phone to check the time, it was getting late. “Want to drive me home?”

“Did you actually walk here? You have a car you know” Arias asked, going to grab the abandoned dishes from the table.

“I forgot my keys when I left, and I didn’t want to go back cause I knew Celia would laugh” They admitted. “So could you drive me home?”

“You could just stay here if you want.” Arias offered as he wandered into the kitchen putting the dishes away. Osora had stayed over at his place on more than one occasion, but he still found himself feeling anxious when he asked them out of the blue when it wasn't prearranged.

“Maybe I will, only if you’re okay with it though” They called back.

This idiot, of course I’m okay with it. I suggested it.

“More than okay” He reassured them. “I’ll even let you borrow a hoodie for the night.”

With his words Osora bounded into the other room. “Jokes on you cause I was going to do that anyways”

A smile formed across Arias face at Osora level of comfort. When the two of them had first started going out, Osora had acted more shy and reserved about these types of things. But Osora seemed to be more comfortable in the relationship as time went on, doing things like stealing hoodies and such that Arias secretly loved.

Later when they were both in bed and watching some show on Arias’s phone he remembered something.

“Did you tell Celia you were staying the night?”

“No, I'll just tell her later,” Osora tried to brush off.

But Arias then proceeded to pause the show, earning a glare from Osora. “Text her now, otherwise she’ll blow my phone up until I convince her you weren’t kidnapped. And it will be at two in the morning” He warned.

“Fine fine” they sat up grabbing their phone off the nightstand to text her, when they remembered something she had said earlier.

“You know Celia and Cat’s wedding?” They asked, putting their phone back down on the table.

“Yes I do know about it actually” Arias replied sarcastically.

“Well Celia got in my head earlier- I mean she made me realize” They tried to say, god why did this feel so embarrassing?

“Do you want to be my plus one for the wedding?”

“Did you get my invitation revoked, is that the real reason you came over?” He taunted, laughing at the way Osora’s face lit up.

“No I didn’t, you really think I can control my sister?” They had to take a breath. “I mean do you want to like go to the wedding with me, I thought since we were going out and all-“

They had stopped their sentence at the sight of Arias's expression. “Would you stop making that face? This isn’t supposed to be funny.”

“I’m sorry I’m sorry” He mimed, whipping away a tear. “Continue please”

Osora let out a frustrated breath. “Do you want to be my date to the wedding?”

Arias pulled them closer as he laughed. “Of course, thought you never ask”

“You’re so annoying”

Regardless of their words they still snuggled into Arias side, enjoying the company as they slept.

However the two later woke to the sound of Arias’s phone going off like crazy, Osora had always put their phone on do-not-disturb. So Celia knew just how to get through.

“I thought I told you to text your sister” Arias mumbled trying to grab his phone. Struggling to escape the mess of blankets.

“I did, she’s just lost it” they replied back trying to grab their own phone to see the time, it was just past 2 in the morning. “I’ll even show you”

As they opened their phone their expression fell for a second. “I never hit send” they admitted.

“I can’t believe you didn’t hit send, I warned you this would happen- hey Celia” He called, picking up the phone. “Yeah no Osora is over here”

Osora could hear his sister speaking through the other line but couldn’t make out exactly what she was saying.

“I did tell them to text you actually” Arias went on, as he flipped on the lamp. “They forgot to hit send apparently”

He enjoyed watching as Osora’s brows knit closer together. “Your sister wants to talk to you, she needs verbal confirmation of life.” He said innocently, passing them the phone.

“I’m fine Celia good night” They deadpanned, hanging up the phone.

“Told you so” Arias laughed, taking the phone back.

“Haha you’re so funny”

“I think I’m hilarious actually” He replied watching Osora burrow back into the blankets.

“Fine you’re hilarious, just let me go back to sleep”
