The Rune of Fusion

Summary:

What if, Ryu Min wasn't the one who got the Rune of Regression, what if it was another person, who he called his lover. What if.

Basically when I first saw the logo of the manhwa, I thought it was a BL, so now I'm writing this because I didn't like the person that he actually ended up with.

Notes:

This is my first work, so I hope you don't mind the quality. Please enjoy!

Chapter Text

Humans all possess the innate desire to survive, and Ryu Min and Chin Hae are no exception.

“If not for that, we wouldn’t have made it this far,” Ryu-Min mused playfully to Chin Hae.

Chin Hae gave an amused smirk at Ryu Min’s ability to stay cheerful in such a horrible situation.

From level one to twenty, they had fought tooth and nail through this horrible survival game, losing 98 lives on the way. Now, in the 99th life, they stand before the ultimate challenge: the final boss room. Together, yet alone.

Yet, fate was not on their side, as it never was.

[To enter the boss room, a minimum of five players are required.]

The shift in their moods was immediate.

“What?!”

Ryu Min could hardly contain his disbelief at how the game seemed to undermine every one of his efforts. Even the usually stoic Chin Hae seemed outraged by the audaciousness of such a thing.

“At least five players are needed?!”

They had fought their way through twenty levels, just the two of them, but now that had to bring three more people to the end with them?

They had already made it to the end, a feat deemed impossible by humanity, yet, they still couldn’t win.

“If we needed at least five players, there should have been some kind of warning.” Chin Hae says while muttering curses at the whole system under his breath.

Overwhelmed by the turn of events, they almost missed the next message.

[Players have been identified in the boss room. The conditions were not met, commencing erasure of players.]

Before they could react, they began to disintegrate at a molecular level. At their last moment together in this lifetime, they reminded each other of their goal.
[You have died]

[Congratulations. You have met the condition for the Rune of Time Reversal.]

[Rewind time to the first round.]

[You have used 100/100 lives.]

[All remaining lives have been used]

[The skill Rune of Time reversal automatically disappeared.]

[Rune of Fusion activated]

[Past messages apply to player Ryu-Min]

As death overtook them, they were thrust back into their old bodies, about a year and a half ago.

{Starting the 100th regression.}
