Chapter 1: A task
Chapter Text
He was requested almost immediately after he had finished his previous mission, he didn’t even have time to change out his torn clothes.
Chuuya crossed his arms tightly over his chest, stumbling through the halls of the port mafia building, he could feel the warmth on his blood slowly drip down his cheek and his nose.
Of course Mori couldn’t wait like another hour before summoning him, it just had to be now while he looked like he just got hit by a bus.
He wondered what was so important he couldn’t even get a half hour break.
It better actually be important or he may commit treason.
For all intents and purposes that was sarcasm.
Probably.
He wiped the blood from his face, which didn’t do much as it dripped back down to his lips, and stepped into Mori’s office area.
He felt a wave of dread wash over him as he saw Dazai hovering over their boss, he turned his head, his small dead-looking smile twisted upwards into a full on grin as he spotted Chuuya.
Shit, was this going to be a joint mission?God kill him now.
“Ah Chuuya, you look… well.. don’t be a stranger come here.”
Mori said in a softer tone than Chuuya was expecting.
The red head let out a silent sigh as he approached the other two men, standing next to Dazai, who was eyeing his bloody face.
“Did my dog get into a fight with another dog?”
Dazai says, his eyes turned up, matching his smile.
“Oh what a bad owner I am, letting my dog get into fights.”
Chuuya clenched his fists into a ball, grinding his teeth together.
It took all the willpower he had not to punch the slightly taller boy.
“You requested me sir?”
He ignores Dazai to the best of his ability, turning his focus onto Mori.
The older man just hums, intertwining his fingers and leaning on the back of his hands.
“I need you both for a mission,”
Mori began.
Shit it was a joint mission.
Out of the corner of his eyes he saw Dazai straighten up.
“I need you both to do some infiltration,”
He continued, grabbing two folders from his desk drawer.
“There’s two groups in Musutafu that can cause trouble for us, I need you two to gather information so we can take them down.”
His eyes turned towards Chuuya, he held out one of the folders.
The short man took it and opened it, flicking through the pages, not really reading it, just skimming the contents.
The letters U and A took his attention.
Mori seemed to catch the confused look in his blue eyes.
“U.A? Isn’t that a hero school?”
Chuuya looks up from the folder, his boss simply nodded.
“Yes, you’ll pose as a student and gather information on the number one hero.”
Chuuya’s hands tightened on the folder.
“May I ask why I have to do that?”
He said through gritted teeth.
“Dazai Osamu is a traceable name, Nakahara Chuuya is not. Of course using a fake name would be possible but that’s risky so it’ll be you.”
He shrugs, standing up and passing Dazai the second folder.
“You’re also the right height.”
He added quickly.
Chuuya’s grip on the folder tightened impossibly more at the mention of his height.
He nearly broke the folder, but restrained himself just enough to not.
He simply closed the folder and took a deep breath.
“Dazai, you’ll be infiltrating the League of villains.”
Mori switched his attention to the slightly taller mafia member.
Sorry the fucking what?
Nah what kind of organisation has villain in the name?
That has to break some kind of code, no way the leader of that group posed any sort of threat.
“The league of… Villains.”
Dazai repeated the name, sounded nearly disgusted by the… very original and well thought of name, his lips quivered as if he wanted to cringe at the name, which was honestly the the only thing Chuuya could agree with him on.
“Correct, all you have to do is get information on their leader.”
Mori says, sitting back down on his chair.
“There’s a car ready for you two whenever you’re ready. You’re dismissed.”
He waved his hand, the boys bowed their heads before walking off.
“Oh Chuuya,”
He calls out, Chuuya turns his head, Dazai had already left the room.
“make sure you clean yourself up.”
Chuuya just nods before walking out, once again wiping the blood from his face, just for blood to continue to drip down.
He groaned, shutting the door behind him.
Dazai, leaned on a wall, reading over the file he was given, he looked back up, starring with dead eyes at Chuuya.
He pushed himself off the brick and bounded up to the shorter man.
“Oh what a shame, I’ll have to spend so much time away from my dog.”
He said faking a sad tone in his voice.
“I’m not your fucking dog.”
Chuuya hissed, speeding up his walking pace.
Dazai let out a mock gasp as he quickly caught up with the shorter.
“My, dogs are such rude creatures.”
He sighs dramatically.
“Well I’ll see you at the car my pet, don’t take too long!”
Dazai says almost too happily as he breaks out into a small jog, waving goodbye before disappearing behind a corner.
“Stop calling me that!”
Chuuya yells after him.
He groaned, walking past the corner the other mafia member vanished behind.
Chuuya fixed his appearance, slipping into something more casual before joining Dazai at the entrance to the building.
A small black limo pulled up after a moment.
A man dressed in black came out of the car and opened the back door.
“Dogs first.”
Dazai says, bowing in a gentlemen like manner.
Chuuya rolled his eyes as he got into the car.
The taller climbed in after him.
“Oh wow, how fancy.”
He said, lying on the back seats, his lanky legs dangling in the air like a little kid.
The car door shut once they were both in and the engine started a few seconds later.
“Though as nice as it is there’s no way for me to kill myself, I wouldn’t be able to hang my self or stab myself on anything here.”
He sounded disappointed with the lack of harmful things in this car.
Chuuya would never be able to understand his obsession with suicide.
It was honestly baffling.
“Can you like calm it down with the suicide talk.”
The red head rested one leg over the other and leaned back in his seat, it was going to be a long journey, might as well get comfy.
“Oh but it’s my favourite thing to talk about!”
The brunette chirps, hanging his upper body off the seat, swinging his legs up.
“And you can’t tell me to do anything, pets can’t command their owners.”
“I’m not your pet you fucking minger.”
Chuuya hissed, crossing his arms and narrowing his eyes at Dazai, who tilted his upside down head in slight confusion.
“What does that mean?”
He asks, his smile dropping into a puzzled frown.
“You can’t command me to do anything.”
The shorter rolled his eyes.
Dazai tutted him. His unnerving smile returning to his bandaged up face.
“Oh but I can, don’t forget I’m your master, and also your superior.”
He reminded, making Chuuya groan.
“But I’ll let your odd insult slide, I don’t need to know what… that… means.”
The rest of the car ride was spent in silence with the odd few sly comments from Dazai.
The sun had gone down, it was nearly midnight now.
Chuuya had spent a good half hour reading over the file he was given.
It was quite empty, the most information he was given was that he would have to pretend to be “nicer” whatever that was trying to imply about him, and some basic stuff about quirks, the hero’s and the school he would be attending.
He would have to pretend to be a fourteen year old, two years younger than he actually was, as the new students would be of that age, it also matched his height, apparently there was an entrance exam he would have to take about a week or two from now, a written part and a physical part.
There was a small list of things he would have to revise for.
There was also a section in the folder based around his ability, now dubbed “Gravity manipulation.” Which sounded much less cooler than “For The Tainted Sorrow” so massive downgrade there.
He would read this properly in the morning when he had a much needed break.
He turned another page and found a phone in a plastic case with a small note, he took the small piece of paper out and read it.
“For Nakahara Chuuya, a phone for communication on the mission.”
A burner phone?
Smart.
He took the phone and shoved it in his pocket with his actual phone before closing the folder and placing it in a small back bag around his shoulder.
The limo skidded to a stop, making both boys jerk in their seats.
Dazai, who was previously asleep, rambled something incoherent, blinking a few times as he woke up.
“Chuuya san. This is your stop.”
The man in black says, peering into the back seats.
The red head nodded and opened the door, stepping out into the cold night, a shiver ran up his spine as he shut the car door.
The window rolled down and Chuuya turned his head, as expected, Dazai sat at the window, blinking quickly.
“Well this is goodbye for now, be a good dog while I’m away!”
“Oh shut up ya’ twat.”
Chuuya rolled his eyes, resting a hand on his bag as he walked away from the car.
Dazai said some other stuff but was drowned out by the limo’s engine and it drove away after a second or two.
The building he was dropped off at was quite tall, taller than he would have thought, though it seemed pretty dingy, probably a cheap place, the paint looked old and was chipped in some places
Whatever as long as he had a place to stay.
He stepped through the entrance and seeing no one there he just walked to the stairs, he already has the key to his room, courtesy of the folder, he just had to find the right room.
It took him a few minutes to find the room, it was on the third floor, quite far from the stairwell.
He unlocked the door and stepped inside, the room was nicer than he would’ve thought.
The living room was small but had a decent tv and sofa with a coffee table on a grey carpet, a few paintings of different kinds of scenery decorated the wall, it made the room feel more comfortable.
There were to other rooms, which he guessed was a bedroom and a bathroom, he would fully explore early in the morning, but he just wanted to go to bed.
He opened the door to the bedroom, it was pretty quaint. A double bed, a small vanity and a wardrobe.
He sat on the bed, taking the bag off his shoulder and dropping it onto the floor, he took off his fedora and placed it on his bag, he kicked off his shoes and lied back, shutting his tired eyes and falling asleep almost immediately.
Chapter Text
The only reason he woke up so early because of the morning sun rays gently burning into his face.
He groaned, shifting onto his side, trying desperately to fall back asleep.
Though his efforts were in vein, he failed to pass back out for around five minutes.
Eventually he sat up, rubbing his eyes and yawning.
Chuuya reached down for his bag, pulling out a toothbrush and some toothpaste he had brought with him.
He made his way to the bathroom, dragging his legs across the floor as he walked.
All the rooms in this place were small, clean but small.
He yawned again before brushing his teeth and wetting his face to wake him up.
The cold water definitely helped.
He looked into the mirror and realised how shitty he looked.
He just looked exhausted, despite having a decent enough sleep, guess the strain of his previous mission was really taking a toll.
He ran a hand through his red hair and left the bathroom, he should unpack the few things he brought with him.
Unpacking didn’t take too long, he didn’t bring much with him, just a few clothes and some essentials like a hairbrush.
One of the phones began to ring, it was this regular ringtone so he assumed it was the burner.
He grabbed the burner and saw the contact Dazai.
Chuuya rolled his eyes and answered only to be greeted with a loud “HII!!”
“What do you want mackerel?”
He asks, sitting back down on his bed.
“Whaaat? Am I not allowed to check on my dog?”
Dazai’s voice ring through his head as he spoke.
Before Chuuya could respond the brunette spoke up.
“Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you were settled in and see if your apartment is better than mine.”
“What’s wrong with your apartment?”
The red head asks, lying back down, his legs dangling on the bed.
“Well for one, everything’s sloped! There’s no way a rope would stay in place! And then-“
“Okay I get it there’s no way for you to kill yourself.”
Chuuya interrupted him before he could rant on.
“How are things with the league of villains?”
He asked, not being able to keep down a snort as he mentions the organisations name.
“Well aside from preparing a complaint about that crappy name, I’ve found out their headquarters, I’ll head down in about an hour.”
Dazai said with a sigh, not exactly excited to go interact with the league.
“Right… well I’m going for a run, I’ll speak to you later.”
“Speak to you later slug! Be a good dog for me!!”
Chuuya rolled his eyes and hung up.
He stood back up and walked over to the wardrobe, picking out some relatively sporty clothing, really just a grey hoodie and pretty loose fitting trousers.
That was the best he could do, he hadn’t brought any sports wear.
He could always buy some another time.
He grabbed his keys and regular phone before trotting over to the exit.
He had left in unlocked last night, not smart on his part but he was exhausted so he let himself off.
The door opened with a small push, the hallway was much brighter now and he could see some plants and paintings decorating the actually nice looking halls.
It was still quite early, barely even ten, he figured it would be a nice time for a run, clear his head.
He didn’t even make it to the stairs before he heard some quick footsteps approaching him.
“Hey! Kid!”
An older looking woman skidded to a stop next to him, she wore a floral button up shirt and some black jeans, her black hair was going grey, though Chuuya would’ve guess she was in her early thirties.
He blinked looking up her soft yet energetic face.
“I don’t think I’ve seen you around here, I’m Enatsu Hana it’s nice to meet you.”
She certainly seemed quite lively.
“Nakahara Chuuya, it’s nice to meet you.”
He tried to match her tone but he just sounded condescending.
She didn’t seem to take offence to that though.
Enastu grabbed his hand and shook it quite roughly.
“You are new here right, I know everyone in this building and I don’t know you.”
She pulled her hand away after a second.
“Uh, I am new here.”
He replies quite bluntly.
“I knew it, so what brings you to town Nakahara san?”
She crosses her arms looking down curiously at the boy.
“I’m here to enroll at U.A.”
He says, making her eyes practically glow in the dim light.
“Ah! I should’ve guessed, a young man such as yourself of course you’d want to attend such a prestigious school.”
Her enthusiastic attitude was tiring to say the least, but she seemed kind, very interested in her new neighbour, he couldn’t fault her for being curious.
“Well where are you headed off to?”
She tilts her head.
“Just for a run.”
He responds, making a small gesture with his head, indicating to the stairs.
“I see, well I won’t delay you any longer, I’ll see you around kid.”
Enastu smiles, waving him a goodbye as he starts to walk down the stairwell.
“See you around Enastu san.”
He gives her a forced smile bad he descends down to the ground floor.
“She was quite nice.”
He mumbles to himself as goes into a light job once he leaves the building.
He wondered what her quirk was, if she even had one, quirks were more common than abilities but he still knew not everyone had one.
Maybe something to do with flowers, maybe he was just thinking too much about the floral shirt she had on.
Though would that be to obvious of an indicator?
She didn’t seem to be a hero, she seemed too casual.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to talk to her more a bit later, if she was a hero getting close to her would be a good development, especially if she were a higher ranking hero, that would be quite wonderful.
He had barely been out for twenty minutes before he heard the unmistakable sound of an explosion not too far from where he was.
He threw his head in the direction of the sound, seeing smoke floating into the sky that seemed to be coming from a school of some sorts, probably a middle school.
As much as he wanted to ignore this and keep running, something inside him wanted to go check it out.
He succumbed to the small voice in his head and started to run towards the smoke, silently cursing himself for checking it out, but too late now.
He skidded to a stop at the iron gate around the school, a blonde kid, that was way too tall for his age, walked past him, saying something Chuuya didn’t care enough to pay attention as to what but it sounded derogatory.
A younger looking boy was sat in his knees, holding something in his hands, the cause of the smoke.
He could hear soft sobs of the green haired boy as his body trembled.
Chuuya’s eyes softened as he walked up to the younger kid, crouching down next to him.
“Hey-“
The green haired boy flinched away as the red head placed a light hand on his shoulder.
Chuuya pulled his hand away, resting both hands on his thighs.
“O-oh… sorry I just thought, you were someone… someone else.”
The kid said in a shaky voice, clutching the smoking object closer to his chest.
“Are you alright, I heard an explosion.”
Chuuya asks, forcing a concerned look to appear on his face.
“I-I’m alright…”
His words were an obvious lie, his puffy red eyes gave it away all too easily.
“He-he ruined it.”
The boys grip on the burnt object tightened as he hugged it.
“Who? That blonde kid?”
Chuuya asked, having a feeling that he was right.
He held out a hand and made a small gesture for the younger boy to pass him the object.
Hesitantly, the near black thing was placed in his hand.
“Y-Yes…”
He mumbled quietly.
Chuuya inspected the object which seemed to be a book of some sorts, he opened the burnt notebook and flicked through some of the pages, it definitely was burnt, though he could make out some words, one page caught his attention, a page that seemed to document… All Might?
From what he could read it seemed into have his weaknesses and strengths, so much information, burnt.
How frustrating.
This could’ve been so incredibly useful, burnt away by some blonde brat.
His eyes couldn’t linger much longer as the book was taken from his hands by the younger boy.
Chuuya rose to a stance, holding out his hand for the kid to take.
With a shaky fist, the green haired boy took his hand and was pulled up.
“Thank you.. uh?”
The boy looked down at him as he stood straight.
“Nakahara Chuuya.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Midorya Izuku.”
He bowed.
“Likewise.”
Chuuya smiled as warmly as he could.
“Your book, I saw a page on All Might, it was quite detailed, would you mind me asking what you write in it?”
He changed the subject, sounding much more interested in this conversation now.
“O-Oh uh…”
Midorya’s faced flushed with embarrassment at the question.
“I write down facts and theories about different heroes, though it seems I have to rewrite them, again.”
“Again?”
Chuuya said quickly, sounding much more serious than he had intended.
“This wasn’t a first time thing? That blonde boy does this a lot?”
The green haired boy just nodded, his eyes narrowing in discomfort.
The red head felt a wave of anger wash over him at that, this kid was being bullied, that isn’t something anyone should experience.
“What a nonce.”
Chuuya hissed, unable to hold the insult back.
“A-a what?”
“…Don’t worry about it.”
Midorya nodded again, shifting uncomfortably.
“Well I should probably go… it was nice to meet you Nakahara san.”
“It was nice to meet you to Midorya san.”
Chuuya was content with leaving him to walk away, but within a quick second he reminded himself that Midorya was going to remake the book probably from memory.
It would be stupid to let this opportunity slip away.
“Wait uh Midorya!”
He calls out, making the taller boy turn his head.
“Can I get your number, I just moved here and I don’t know anyone yet.”
“Oh! Oh yeah.”
Midorya smiled, getting out his phone and getting closer to Chuuya.
They exchanged numbers and said their goodbyes, walking in opposite directions.
Chuuya had a good feeling about that green haired kid.
He seemed smart.
To smart to loose.
Notes:
Chapter two, gonna be honest I think I’m going strong 💪🏻
I’m actually so glad they have phones I’ve gotten so used to writing stuff for demon slayer and they don’t have modern technology so I’m glad to switch it up a bit
Chapter Text
“So how was my dog today? Did you behave?”
Dazai’s teasing voice rung out through the burner phone.
Chuuya sucked in a breath and clenched his hair brush tightly.
He was just trying to get ready for bed but no~
The stupid mackerel just had to call him.
Dazai was on speaker and Chuuya was brushing his hair.
“I hope you did~ otherwise you would get no treats!”
He tried to sound threatening but ended up just sounding condescending.
“Is there a reason you’re calling me?”
Chuuya sighed, sounding tired.
He spent nearly the whole day running and he just wanted to pass out.
“Yes actually, I wanted to tell you that I’ve been accepted into the League of Villains.”
Oh that was good news.
“Good for you mate, you couldn’t have waited ‘till morning.”
Chuuya said softer than he would’ve liked but he didn’t have enough energy to sound ruder.
“I’m busy tomorrow so I thought I should tell you now! Anyway how was your run slug?”
He heard the small squeak of something being roughly moved through the phone, he assumed Dazai and just flopped onto a bed or a chair.
“It was alright, ran into this boy today, I think he’s going to prove to be quite useful.”
Chuuya subconsciously smiled as he thought of Midorya and his book of heroes.
He could’ve sworn he heard something snap through the phone, he was going to say something but Dazai spoke up.
“You… met a boy today? Oh do tell me more! I’m intrigued.”
At first, through his voice, Chuuya thought he could hear an emotion he couldn’t quite place.
He brushed it off as him being too tired and was hearing something that wasn’t there.
He reiterated his interaction with the green haired kid from earlier, to his surprise Dazai stayed quiet throughout him talking.
“Midorya Izuku huh, I’ll certainly make a mental note of that.”
Chuuya could hear some kind of annoyance in the brunettes tone.
“Why not make an actual note?”
He teased not being genuine when asking.
“I would but my pen… doesn’t seem to be working right now.”
Dazai says with a laugh.
“Okay… anything else you need to share before I hang up?”
The red head asks, placing his hairbrush to the side, lying down.
“Can’t think of anything, I’ll talk to you tomorrow my pet!”
Dazai hangs up before Chuuya could retort.
He just rolled his eyes and placed his phone into the bedside drawer.
He got comfy before falling asleep.
Midorya Izuku.
That was certainly not a name he would forget.
Dazai looked down at the broken pen on his desk, shards of glass from his fountain pen pierced his fingers, blood beaded from the small wounds.
The paper he was writing on was ruined with ink stains.
His arm bandages were now also stained in black.
Guess it was a sign to replace them.
He stood from his desk, walking over to the bathroom and unwrapping the stained bandages.
He tossed them in the bin and started to wrap his arm back up.
He pulled out the jagged pieces of pen from his fingers, throwing them away with his old bandages.
Once his hands were free from broken pen he put beige plasters on the small cuts.
Why did he react so poorly to some of the slugs words?
A strange feeling pooled in his chest, he didn’t know what that emotion was he just knew he didn’t like it.
And he knew that whatever it was, was caused by Chuuya.
Just adding to the ever expanding list of reasons why he didn’t like that slug.
Just like the previous morning, Chuuya was awoken by the rays of sunlight burning across his eyes.
But with the added annoyance of the phone ringing.
He groaned sitting up and grabbing whatever phone was ringing.
“Fuck ya’ want ya’ twat.”
He said in a hostile and tired tone.
“N-Nakahara san?”
Shit that wasn’t Dazai.
He didn’t notice the different ringtone.
He also forgot that he placed the burner phone in the drawer.
“Midorya san hey!”
He switched his tone up immediately, softening it and trying to sound more enthusiastic.
“Is this a bad time, I know it’s pretty early I can call back…”
“No no it’s fine! I thought you were… someone else.”
“R-right…”
The line went quiet for a few seconds, Chuuya was sure it was awkward on both ends.
“So did you need something?”
The red head breaks the silence with a question.
“Uh yeah I was just wondering if you’d like to hang out today?”
That was an actual shock.
Out of everything, that took him by surprise.
It had been a while since anyone he could actually stand asked him to hang out.
“Nakahara san?”
Midorya spoke up.
He must have been quiet for longer than he thought.
“Sorry, I was thinking about something, I’d love to hang out.”
Chuuya responds once he was brought back into reality.
He heard Midorya quietly squeal at his acceptance for the hang out.
“Great! Uh I’ll meet you at the… uh…”
Midorya pauses, obviously trying to think of a place Chuuya actually knew about.
“At the school! I can meet you by the gate!”
“Yeah that works, when exactly?”
“How about an hour? Does- does that work for you?”
His voice changed to be a little bit quieter, almost nervous.
“Still pretty early but that’s fine, I’ll see you then.”
Chuuya rubbed his eye, subconsciously smiling.
“I’ll- I’ll see you then!”
The younger boy hung up excitedly.
Chuuya could feel something warm in his chest.
Something that made his heart beat faster.
He shook his head, ignoring that feeling, standing up from his bed, heading over to his wardrobe to change into something better, which was really just a grey hoodie, that didn’t cover his stomach, courtesy of Dazai thinking it would be funny to cut it, and loose fitting black sweatpants, along with a black fedora, can’t leave home without it.
He grabbed his bag and tossed his keys and both phones inside it.
He strung it over his shoulder and headed to the door.
It took him about ten minutes to reach the school, it took him less time before but then again he was running before.
Though he was around five minutes late, Midorya was no where to be found.
He pulled his phone from the bag, just staring at the time, constantly looking up every so often.
He looked up once more and saw green hair walking up to him.
Midorya smiled as he approached the red head.
“Sorry I’m late I got distracted.”
He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
Chuuya just shrugged, limping his hand dismissively and putting his phone in his bag.
“Don’t worry about it.”
He smiles softly.
“Come on! I’ll show you around!”
Without letting Chuuya get a word in, Midorya grabbed the shorter boy’s wrist and dragged him away.
Musutafu was honestly much larger than he thought.
He didn’t know what he was expecting but he really shouldn’t be so surprised.
He was dragged around to different shops and buildings, Midorya gushed about Heroes whenever he got the chance, mainly All Might, which Chuuya payed much more attention to.
He certainly didn’t make a mistake in befriending this kid.
He was basically an encyclopaedia about the Number one hero, it was honestly impressive.
The two ended up sitting on a bench, eating some cheap kabobs.
They were honestly quite nice despite how cheap they were.
“Hey Nakahara San, can I ask you a question?”
Midorya asks, his mouth full.
Little gross but who was he to judge.
“Hmm? Uh sure.”
Chuuya says before biting into the pork skewer.
“I was just wondering what your quirk is.”
The younger boy turns his head towards the red head.
“If you have one of course!”
He adds quickly.
“I do have one, gravity manipulation.”
Chuuya answers.
He saw Midorya’s eyes light up at the new knowledge.
“Oh that’s so cool! How does it work? Can you use it on yourself? On others? How do you activate it? Is it by touch? Sight? Your mind? Or-“
He paused seeing the stunned look on the red heads face.
“Sorry, I just like to know all about quirks and I guess I can get carried away.”
He looks away embarrassed.
“It’s alright I guess… just wasn’t expecting it.”
Chuuya says softly, trying to sound like he wasn’t slightly disturbed by the overload of questions.
He might as well answer at least one of his twenty questions.
“I have to touch someone or something at least once for me to change their gravity.”
He explained dumbing it down a lot.
“Wow that’s so cool! I only have super strength.”
Chuuya didn’t like the self deprecating tone the other kid spoke in.
That was the most genuine thing he felt all day.
“Hey now, super strength is an awesome power, don’t doubt it.”
“Well, you aren’t wrong but I don’t know how well it’ll help me during the entrance exam.”
Entrance exam?
Was he also going to U.A?
If so that was absolutely perfect!
Midorya was basically a human encyclopaedia, yes he had his number but possibly being in the same school hell even same class, that would make his life so much easier.
He knew he was right but he still should confirm his suspicions.
“The entrance exam? Like the one for U.A?”
He saw the other boys eyes light up at the mention of the school.
“Yeah! Are you planning on enrolling?”
Midorya asks with a wide smile.
“I am! It’s why I moved here.”
Chuuya responded.
The taller boy squealed in delight.
“That’s amazing! Maybe we should train together some time!”
Chuuya checked the time on his phone, it was early ish in the afternoon.
“Well it’s not too late yet, no time like the present hmm?”
He stood up, tossing the left over kabob into the bin, he wasn’t going to finish it.
Chuuya didn’t really want to train with him, but, he knew nothing about the entrance exam, for all he knew he would have to fight Midorya during it, or if he makes it in, he may have to fight him anyway, it would be a good opportunity to get a grasp of his quirk so he knew what he was up against.
Midorya stared at him in awe for a moment.
“O-Okay!”
He smiled widely, like that had been the first time anyone had ever asked that.
Chuuya held out his hand for the taller to grab, Midorya was pulled up onto his feet.
“There’s a scrap yard not too far we can go to.”
It took like half an hour to reach the scrap yard, it was empty, well not empty just most of the scrap metal was pushed off onto one side, creating a circle of a dusty floor.
It was definitely a good place to train, with no one around the only casualty’s would be the other person and debris.
Chuuya placed his bag on the floor, his fedora as well, but then he heard his phone ring, the burner phone.
What great timing.
He rummaged through his bag grabbing the phone, Midorya looked at him curiously.
“Just stretch for a minute I need to take this.”
He said before walking outside the wires fence and leaning on it.
“What?”
Chuuya says quietly.
“Hey chibi! I was just calling to see if you were busy, the league doesn’t need me for the rest of the day and since we haven’t been here I thought it would be fun to look around.”
Dazai’s playful tone rang out through the phone quite loudly
Chuuya groaned at the nickname.
“I am busy actually, I’m doing some training with Midorya san, the kid I mentioned yesterday, plus he showed me around a lot today.”
“Ah. I see… exploring without me what a bad dog, I’ll probably have to give you a punish-“
Chuuya hung up before he could finish that sentence, he didn’t want to hear him finish that, he liked whatever bits of sanity and will to live he had left.
“Who was that?”
Midorya asked, finishing up his stretches.
“Prank call.”
Chuuya responds, dropping his phone back into his bag.
The green haired boy laughed at the other’s exasperated tone.
“Yeah I hate those.”
Midorya says as the red head walked over to him.
“So umm what kind of training are we doing?
“I was thinking just a simple spar.”
Chuuya shrugs.
The other boy nodded.
“I’ve uhh- never done that kind of training before so go easy on me.”
He sinks into himself.
“Of course.”
Chuuya reassures before walking away from the taller boy before taking a fighting stance.
He could see Midorya try to copy his stance, putting his fists up higher than he probably needed to.
Now quirks had a lot more drawbacks than abilities, especially in teenagers and young folk.
He would have to pretend to have some sort of drawback.
How much could he even do without it being suspicious?
He had completely forgotten to properly read the file about quirks so he really had no idea how much he was supposed to limit himself.
He wasn’t allowed to think much more as Midorya began to run at him.
He was fast, but not fast enough.
The green haired kid raised a fist, lunging forward but the red head slipped to the side, avoiding the quite pitiful attempt at a punch, though he shouldn’t have expected so much.
Chuuya grabbed his wrist, activating his “quirk”, a red glow emitted from his body, encasing both boys, the gravity in Midorya decreased, he felt incredibly light.
He was thrown to the side, of course Chuuya’s could throw him farther but that would show strength he wasn’t supposed to have.
The red glow quickly faded as his ability deactivated.
Midorya stumbled over his feet, very nearly falling to the floor but he just managed to catch himself.
He took a moment to catch his breath before turning back to Chuuya, rushing him again, failing miserably.
This is how Chuuya knew he wasn’t lying when he said he hadn’t been in a fight before.
Should he be that shit at fighting to?
No, his ego wouldn’t not allow him to dumb himself down like that.
After a few more moments of failed attempts of punches, Chuuya had gotten tired of this, clearly Midorya wasn’t using his own strengths in this match, just by the way he moved Chuuya could tell he was just trying to copy All Might, now Chuuya never cared to watch the news about heroes but word of All Might and his heavy hitting fighting style spread like wild fire, Midorya was trying to mimic those hits, not playing into what would help HIM in this fight.
Midorya was smart, his brain would be a massive strength, but him being an All Might fan boy will limit his willingness to use his smarts.
He wasn’t a teacher but Chuuya was about to teach him something.
The red head discreetly moved over to some scrap parts, avoiding the weak looking punches from the taller.
with a light shove he pushed Midorya back, crouching down and pressing his fingers to some scrap parts, his ability activated and the flat metal began to float up into the air, making Midorya stop in awe for a moment, but he was caught of guard as Chuuya jumped up, twisting his body in the air and landing upside down on one of the flat scrap pieces, completely out of the other’s reach.
“H-Hey! That’s not fair!”
Midorya called out, staring up at him.
“Training means helping with your strengths, I’m helping.”
Chuuya teases, sitting down and crossing his legs.
“How is this helping exactly?”
The green haired boy slumped his shoulders.
“I’m appealing to your strengths.”
Chuuya said in the same tone as before.
“You can help me with my strengths if you come down.”
God did he have to spell out what he was trying to do?
The red head sighed.
“That’s been going well innit’.”
He says sarcastically.
Midorya stayed quiet and frowned.
“Come on mate, use your head.”
The green haired boy stood still, he looked to be thinking, Chuuya could practically hear the cogs turning in his brain.
There we go, he needs to use his smarts that Chuuya was beginning to doubt he had.
Something clicked on Midorya’s mind, Chuuya could see it in his eyes.
He darted over to some small scrap metal, he picked it up and threw it at the boy floating in the air, the scrap piece barely missed Chuuya.
There we go.
Chuuya stood back up, taking a step of the flat metal piece, a second scrap chunk came up under his foot.
Another rusty, metal piece was hurled at his head, he jumped back, the flat metal moved to stay under his feet.
Piece after piece more metal was thrown at him, Chuuya has to keep moving or else he would be hit.
This was fun.
It almost felt like a game.
Though he did have to pretend to start looking tired, that was an easier drawback to fake.
Chuuya ran around the sky, metal kept moving to keep him in the air.
Sometimes it felt like he was skateboarding, he probably could using these metal boards.
He stopped moving for a few seconds to shift his legs into the proper stance, just to see a scrap piece fly past his face, not that close.
Midorya must have had really bad aim that should’ve hit him.
Unless, he wasn’t aiming for Chuuya.
He saw a glint in the taller boy’s eyes as he held another iron chunk.
Midorya was trying to tire him out!
All this moving about and using his “quirk” would make anyone tired.
He was observant and saw the forced tired expression on his face and he was taking advantage of that.
This kid was smart.
He got closer to the ground, flipping the metal scrap he was on so he was actually up right.
He sucked in a gasp as he jumped onto another metal plate, he forced himself to inactive his ability, the scrap drove itself into the ground, making Chuuya stumble onto the floor, he tripped over his own foot and fell forward, landing on his face.
“Nakahara san!”
Midorya yelled, his voice full of concern as he ran up to Chuuya.
“I’m fine.”
The red head pushed himself up onto his knees, the taller boy helped him up.
As fun as that was, Chuuya didn’t get much from it.
He could feel something deep in his chest nagging him.
“Midorya san, did you use your quirk at all?”
The question seemed to catch the other by surprise.
“N-No, I uh…”
He stumbled over his words, seeming quite reluctant to answering.
“Why not?”
“I just can’t control it that well.”
Midorya stepped away from Chuuya.
“We’re training just say so and you could’ve practiced on something else.”
“I-I guess but-“
“I just want to see your quirk active.”
Chuuya stepped closer.
“Come on, I want to see.”
He insisted.
“Nakahara san I don’t-“
“Midorya come on, just use it.”
He stepped closer.
He was going to see him use it, that was the whole point of this.
The two went back and forth, Chuuya was very insistent and started to sound annoyed, Midorya also sounded irritated and dismissive.
“Use your-!”
PUNCH
Chuuya stumbled back, clutching his nose that was now gushing blood.
Midorya gasped, his hand now bent and purple.
There it was.
That was what he wanted.
Chuuya saw a bolt of green looking lightning come from the taller’s hand and some red markings.
He didn’t get to see much as he was knocked back.
“Oh Fuck!”
He winced, watching the blood pour from his nose, it stained his grey hoodie red and part of the floor.
“I think you broke my nose!”
Tears beaded at the corners of his eyes.
He touched his bloody nose.
“Never mind not broken. Somehow.”
“Oh my God I’m so sorry!”
Midorya yelled, not knowing what to do.
“I-I shouldn’t have-“
“No don’t apologise, I shouldn’t have insisted so much, it’s my own fault.”
They both just went silent after that, both not knowing what to say or do.
“Uh where do you live. I can help you home.”
Midorya suggested.
It took around ten minutes to reach the flats Chuuya was staying at.
They had walked in silence.
They hadn’t even made it to Chuuya’s room when they heard a scream and the rush of footsteps.
That voice sounded vaguely familiar.
“Oh my God what happened to you two?”
Ah it was Enastu.
Chuuya couldn’t really look up at her and he didn’t want to strain his eyes to look at her.
“Training went a little wrong.”
Midorya answered.
Chuuya could hear their voices but he started to feel faint and their voices sounded muffled to him.
He was loosing a lot of blood, that wasn’t good.
He leaned on a different leg just for it to buckle underneath him and he fell into Midorya’s arms
He heard concerned squeals from the other two and before he knew it Enastu was holding him and Midorya was leaving, assumably to go to a hospital.
His eyes felt heavy and he couldn’t keep them open much longer.
“Hey you don’t pass out on me.”
The older woman said sternly, basically dragging him along.
She grabbed her Keyes and pulled him into her room, helping him rest on the sofa.
Everything was still fuzzy.
She walked away for a few moments and returned with an ice pack and some tissues.
“Keep your head down and this,”
She places the ice pack on the bridge of his nose.
“Goes there.”
She gives him the tissues and he puts them up to his nose, the white material quickly stained red.
He didn’t know how long it took for the nose bleed to stop, time kind of blurred together and before he knew it he was lying on down, bloody tissues obscured his vision as they piled on top of the small coffee table next to the sofa.
Enastu gazed down at him, looking slightly worried.
“Get some sleep kid, I’ll make you some food in the morning, if it starts back up don’t be afraid to come wake me.”
She says before walking to her bedroom and Chuuya immediately felt himself pass out.

Chapter Text
Chuuya woke up to the smell of cooking bacon.
He sat up, rubbing his eyes as he tried to keep himself up.
He noticed the bloody tissues were gone, though his hoodie was still drenched and he could assume his face was still stained.
“Good morning sleeping beauty.”
A woman’s voice called out to him.
Enastu walked up to him, holding a plate of food.
She sat down next to him and passed the plate over.
“I don’t think sleeping beauty woke up covered in her own blood.”
Chuuya said with a sneer, but he graciously took the food and started eating it with some chopsticks that were beside the bacon.
The older woman snorted at his words, giving him a light tap on the back.
“If you give me your Keys I can get you a change of clothes.”
She says with a wide smile.
The red head was hesitant, his body tensed at the thought of someone he didn’t know very well going into his room, but he had nothing to hide, he didn’t bring a gun nor switch blades, no alcohol, the only thing risky would be that folder he was given but he had put that under his bedside table.
He pulled out the grey keys from his hoodie pocket and held them out waiting for her to take them.
“I have some clothes on my bed, can you bring me those.”
Enastu nodded as she took the keys.
“Stay here kid, make sure you finish your food.”
She quickly skipped out of room, leaving Chuuya to his thoughts.
And those within his thoughts.
“WhY wOuLd YoU leT yOuRsElf bE hUrT mY dEvOteE?”
The Gods voice rung out in his mind, startling him slightly.
“That’s the most I’ve heard you talk in a while.”
He said with light sarcasm.
The voice in his head grew quiet, actually wanting an answer to their question.
“I wanted Midorya San to show me his quirk, it was just a consequence of my action.”
“ThAt IsN’T gOoD eNoUgH. YoUr BoDy Is FrAgIlE, I dOn’T wAnT mY dEvOteE tO bE hArMeD.”
Arahabaki hisses in dissatisfaction.
“I’m not your devotee I don’t worship you.”
The red head rolled his eyes.
“No, YoU dOn’T, bUt YoU aRe My VeSsEl, ThErEfOrE yOu BeLiVe In My ExiStEnCe, A dEvOteE.”
He rolled his eyes again, putting the plate to the side, crossing his arms and slumping in the sofa.
“EaT mY dEvOteE, rEpLeNiSh YoUr BlOoD, I cAn OnLy Do So MuCh.”
Chuuya looked to the plate next to him, his stomach growled but he couldn’t find the energy to pick it back up.
He didn’t try to talk to the God anymore, he knew when they were done talking.
The door opened again, Enastu walked in holding some folded clothes.
“Hey kid, I got your clothes, go change I’ll wash your hoodie.”
She handed him his change of clothes.
He nodded, taking the articles of clothing, standing up and walking to the bathroom.
Enastu looked towards the barely touched plate of food, a small sense of worry washed over her as she took the plate with her into the kitchen.
She wouldn’t throw it out in case he wanted it but she wouldn’t leave it on the sofa, that’s how you get rats.
Chuuya looked in the shabby mirror, looking at the worn bandages binding his chest down.
His binder was torn during his last mission so he had to D.I.Y it.
Once he could buy a new one that would make his life just that much easier.
If he could even find one, it took him ages to find the first one.
He shook his head, he would think about it another time.
He just dressed himself and walked out of the bathroom clutching his bloodied clothing.
“Hey kid go sit down.”
The older woman said from another room.
He did as she said, sitting back down on the sofa.
He curled his legs up into his chest.
He just felt tired and wanted to go back to sleep, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to.
After a moment Enastu walked into back into the room, taking his clothes and walking away again.
It was quiet for a long time.
No one spoke, barely even their breaths were audible.
It was awkward to say the least, though of course it would be, they barely knew each other.
“Want a tea kid?”
Enatsu asks, breaking the silence.
Her request was much appreciated.
His little, British heart fluttered at the thought.
“I would love one.”
He responds, a lot calmer than his heart was.
It took a few minutes but a tea was soon placed in his hands, and he couldn’t help but smile as he took a sip.
The older woman sat down beside him, leaning quite causally on the sofa.
And once again, they were quiet.
The awkwardness was back.
Chuuya didn’t exactly like the silence, he never minded quiet, but when someone was in the room with him he wanted to speak.
He thought back to a few days ago, when he had first met her, he still wondered whether she was a hero or not, suppose asking about quirks wouldn’t exactly be a weird conversation starter.
“Enatsu san.”
The red head began looking at the older woman.
“Please kid I’ve just taken care of you after a nosebleed, call me Hana.”
She responds with a light laugh, Chuuya mimicked her giggle, even though he found nothing about what she said funny.
“Then call me Chuuya.”
He takes a sip of his tea, his gaze locked on her emerald eyes, watching for any hidden emotion she may try to conceal.
She nodded at his request.
“Anyway, I wanted to ask what your quirk was, if you have one of course.”
Hana sighed, though she didn’t sound unhappy at the question, maybe just tired.
“Well kid, my quirk is fiery foliage,”
Fiery foliage, what a name.
She held out her hand, limping it back at the wrist.
After a second or two a small flower emerged from her skin, she plucked the flower and the plant immediately set ablaze in her hand.
“It allows me to grow plants from my body, once disconnected from my skin it lights up.”
She explains.
He would have to right that down at some point, that quirk was certainly a flashy one, though he doubted it would be much help in a mission, well he could think of a few uses for it but that would mostly be stealth based.
If she could grow vines out of her skin theoretically she could wrap a building up or line the place with vines, then ignite them and the building would burn, doing that discreetly would definitely tilt the battle in the heroes odds.
“You said you wanted to go to U.A right kid?”
She asks, bringing him back to reality, the flower in her hands has burnt out into ashes and disintegrated into the air.
Chuuya nodded, watching the ashes float away.
“Well I’m actually a graduate of U.A, I know roughly what the exams would be, I could help you revise.”
“You’d be willing to help me?”
His eyes snap back to hers, lighting up slightly.
“Yeah of course, I could probably rent out some books and give them to you to revise for the written part.”
The written part?
Of course there was a written part.
“The entrance exam isn’t far away now, I think it’s next week.”
Hana says causally.
“I’ll head out now, you stay and keep resting.”
“I can come with you if you want.”
Chuuya said, he honestly didn’t want to stay in this flat anymore.
But Hana just shook her head.
“No no you lost a lot of blood, you are resting.”
She insisted before getting up, practically chugging her tea and grabbing her keys.
The red head just grumbled something, shrinking back into himself.
“I’ll be back soon kid.”
Dazai looked down at the phone in his hands, silently counting how many times it rings.
It had been around two days since his last call with Chuuya, and that slug just wouldn’t answer his calls, what a bad dog.
Thirteen… fourteen… fifteen…
“Hello?”
Chuuya’s tired sounding voice came through the phone.
It’s about damn time.
“Slug! Why haven’t you been returning my calls!”
Dazai yells, his regular teasing tone was prominent but an annoyance also appeared in his voice.
“Sorry mate I’ve just haven’t been alone for the past few days so I couldn’t answer your calls.”
The dog responds, sounding so calm, that wasn’t something Dazai was used to, it was off putting.
“You haven’t been alone? Who have you been with?”
“This woman in the room near mine, uh Midorya San socked me right in the face and I had a really bad nosebleed,Hana san, the woman, made me stay on her sofa for a bit till I was better, she only let me leave a few minutes ago.”
“I see.”
Dazai’s grip on his phone tightened, his dog was injured and he was not notified, also that brat Midorya was the one who hurt his dog, oh that made his blood boil.
He already didn’t like that kid but now he had hurt something that belonged to Dazai, that wouldn’t stand.
“I know that tone Dazai,”
Chuuya spoke up after a second.
The brunette hummed in slight surprise.
“It wasn’t the kids fault, I wanted to see his quirk, it was a consequence of my own actions.”
“Well I hope my dog is okay.”
Dazai teased.
“I’m not your dog.”
Chuuya hissed, if he wasn’t a dog maybe he would be a cat.
Nah he was a dog.
“Whatever you say Chuu-“
Before he could finish his sentence the echo of another ringtone went off.
The sound of Chuuya fumbling through his pocket soon came through the phone.
“It’s Midorya san, I’ll talk to you later.”
“Hang on!”
He hung up.
The dog hung up on his owner.
He clenched his phone tighter, he could hear faint cracks coming from the device.
It seemed Chuuya was forgetting who he belonged to.
Dazai was going to have to remind him, who he belonged to.
The red head smiled as he hung up, he knew how Dazai was, he always hated other people being with his belongings, as much as Chuuya hated Dazai grouping him in with his toys, he liked to take advantage of the brunette’s nature.
“Hey Midorya san.”
Chuuya said in a false upbeat tone he knew the younger boy wouldn’t be able to sense.
He sat down in his sofa, feeling much more comfortable in his own home.
“Hey Nakahara san.”
Midorya’s actual upbeat tone came through the phone.
“How are you? Are you feeling better?”
“Oh I’m fine I should be asking you how you are, didn’t you break your hand?”
Chuuya responds, faking a concerned tone.
“Yeah I’m fine, my hand should be fine when for the entrance exam. My bones recover quickly.”
He says with a laugh.
“Anyway, I wanted to know if you wanted to study together?”
“Yeah I’m up for that, where should we meet up?”
Chuuya asks.
“Well my mom won’t let me leave home until my wrist is healed so so you mind coming over?”
Going to his house may not be a bad idea, one reason would be to revise of course, currently getting into the damn school was priority number one.
The second reason would be gathering information, this kid was an All Might encyclopaedia, if he was going to get dirt on the hero, going to his number one fans house would be an obvious way to get it.
“Okay, I’ll come over.”
“Great! I’ll send you the address, I’ll see you soon!”
H said excitedly before hanging up.
It took Chuuya a little over an hour to walk to Midorya’s house.
It was a quaint little thing, with a small garden out front.
He walked up to the door, knocking it before taking a small step back as he waited.
After a minute a green haired woman opened the door, they were around the same height, which made a Chuuya let out a silent scream.
“Hi, I’m guessing you’re Nakahara Chuuya.”
The woman says with a smile.
Chuuya nodded, assuming this was Midorya’s mother.
“Come in, come in, Izuku’s in his room.”
She ushers him in and guided him to his friend’s room.
He got a good look at the house, it was honestly quite lovely, very humble and cozy, a few paintings and plants decorating the halls and rooms.
“Izuku! Your friends here!”
She calls out, opening Midorya’s door.
Chuuya waved as his friend looked up.
He was sitting at his desk, and oh my God he was an All Might fanboy.
Posters of the number one hero littered his room, figurines and other merch were plotted in his desk and shelves.
“Nakahara San, it’s good to see you!”
Midorya beamed.
His mother walked away with a faint goodbye and shut the door behind her once Chuuya had gone further inside the All might shrine that disguises itself as a bedroom.
“Good to see you to.”
They spent the rest of the day revising and joking around.
Chuuya absolutely made fun of the absurd amount of merch around the others room.
It would be a crime if he didn’t.
They both got more comfortable around each other that day but the morning quickly went and so did the afternoon.
The evening crept up on them so fast.
Chuuya gave his goodbyes although Inko, as Midorya’s mother insisted she be called, had said he could stay, he knew he couldn’t.
He wanted to get home and fall onto his bed, he was about to but on the windowsill was a note and a choker.
He picked up the piece of paper and read it over.
“Hey Chuuya you didnt tell me you were going out, what a bad dog you are-“
Chuuya rolled his eyes, it was Dazai, cause of course it was.
The note continued.
“You’ve also seemed to have forgotten who you belong to so I got you a gift. ( ・ ω<) ”
“Ps; remember who your owner is and make sure you wear your collar like a good boy.”
Fucking bastard got him a collar.
He was taking this dog thing way too far.
Chuuya picked up the choker, inspecting it.
It wasn’t even an ugly thing, it was black and made from a nice leather with a small pendent dangling on the front of it.
The letter D was embedded into the silver pendant.
God the letter wasn’t even vague, it was a bright red and very obvious to anyone who could read English.
It was the English character as well, how did he even get this?
Did he just go out and buy it?
Sure there were some English characters you could buy but it wasn’t common, especially for something like a collar.
Did he have it made?
That somehow seemed more plausible.
He turned over the silver piece and saw more writing, in Japanese this time.
It read:
“If hurt or lost call his owner ;P use this phone number”
Oh my God this was just a glorified dog collar.
He recognised Dazai’s phone number.
Chuuya left the “chocker” on the windowsill and got into his nightwear before passing out in bed.
Time passed quickly and soon the day of the written exam arrived.
He had to use the train to get to U.A, it would be a good few hours so he thought it would be best to get some more sleep, he left his flat stupidly early.
It was actually peaceful, he never dreamed nor did he actually fall asleep, but he did just silently revised in his mind, for some reason remembering the different answers calmed his nerves.
Well it was peaceful until a loud thump sound came from beside him as someone sat down.
Chuuya yawned and tiredly looked to the side, seeing a boy that looked slightly younger than him with obnoxiously bright yellow hair and a black lightning symbol in said hair.
The other boy seemed to notice that he “woke” Chuuya up.
“Oh sorry to wake you.”
He said quickly.
The red head just shrugged.
“Don’t worry about it.”
He said with a yawn, leaning back in his seat and crossing his legs.
“If you say so, I’m just super worried about the U.A entrance exam, y’know it starts today and I just don’t know how well I’m gonna do.”
The electric haired boys words intrigued Chuuya, another kid going to the exams.
Could be a good idea to be friendly with him in case he gets in.
“I’m going to the exams as well!”
Chuuya said excitedly, trying his best to make his face match his voice.
“Ah! That’s great! That’s honestly a relief, I’ll know someone while in there.”
The boys said with a sigh.
They hadn’t even known each other five minutes and Chuuya was already forced into a friendship.
“I’m Kaminari Denki.”
“Nakahara Chuuya. And if you’re nervous about the written exam I could probably help you revise a bit before it, we’ve got like half an hour before we get to the station anyway.”
The red head suggests.
Denki nods his head furiously.
“Please, you’d be literally saving my life!”
He said dramatically.
And true to his word, Chuuya explained topics Denki struggled with, showing him different pages of the book he was given through pictures on his phone.
Though Denki still struggled with remembering things, he had the basics down, that was good enough.
Denki seemed like a nice kid, he was energetic, maybe talked a little too much but he was genuinely interesting.
He wasn’t the smartest person he’s ever met, not even close, but he certainly was a character.
Chuuya didn’t know how useful he would be to the mission, or anything at all, but he would be good to have on his side.
The train soon came to a stop, the two soon-to-be students got off the train and began walking through the subway.
They got lost a few times but eventually they found their way to gates of U.A
The place was massive, so much bigger than he would have expected.
Chuuya wasn’t too shocked by the size as the port mafia building was around the same height, but Denki looked absolutely stunned.
The electric haired boy’s mouth quivered as he looked up at the school.
Denki couldn’t gawk any longer as Chuuya grabbed his wrist and started to drag him.
They were about to be late.
They were gasping for air as they reached the exam hall.
Luckily they were not late, but they were the last ones to get there.
The two got a few stares as they went to their respective seats.
Chuuya had to sit next to a pink girl.
No like seriously she was pink.
Quirks were fucking weird.
At the front of the auditorium a man with really weird hair, like fucking stupid looking hair, stood, hands covering his face in a strange pose.
“What’s up U.A candidates?”
He yelled once the lights blared to life.
“Thanks for tuning in to me, your school DJ. C’mon and let me hear ya!”
No way was he serious, did he actually think a bunch of nearly depressed teenagers would cheer.
Damn how delusional.
“Keeping it mellow, huh? That’s fine I’ll skip straight to the main show. Let’s talk about how this practical exam is gonna down Okay. Are you ready? Yeah!”
Holy shit Chuuya was actually getting a migraine from this loud as hell hero.
Again no one replied to him as expected.
“Like your application said, today you rockin’ boys and girls will be out there conducting ten-minute mock battles in super hip urban settings. Gird your loins my friends. After I drop the mic you’ll have an hour to complete your written test and then you’ll head out to your specified battle centre, sound good?”
Chuuya looked down at the card in his hand, it was his aplicant number and where he what field he would be on.
They were being split up, smart idea so they couldn’t team up with anyone.
He had no plans to anyway but for those who did, it must’ve really screwed up their plans.
“Okay, okay let’s check out your targets. There are three types of faux villains in every battle centre. You’ll earn points based on their level of difficulty,”
As the stupid haired hero spoke the board behind him changed to match his words, showing off the different villains the applicants would be facing.
The blonde said more but Chuuya tuned him out, he just studied the appearance of the different villains, making sure to remember what they looked like.
“Excuse me sir but I have a question.”
A blue haired kid stood up, looking very authoritative and somewhat angry.
“Hit me!”
The hero yelled back.
“On the printout, you’ve listed four types of villains not three.”
Chuuya had to hold down a “nerd!” That he so desperately wanted to scream at the kid.
“With all respect. If this is an error on official U.A material, it is shameful.”
He continued.
Damn this kid was ruthless, it was shocking to see but also really annoying.
That kid needed to just shut up.
Who cares if there was a mistake who knows how old that page was it could’ve just been a force of habit to print out those ones.
“We are exemplary students. We expect the best from Japans most notable school. A mistake such as this won’t do.”
Shit was he still going? God could he talk.
“Additionally you with the unkempt hair.”
Chuuya looked to where the nerdy kid pointed.
Hang on he recognised that green hair.
“You’ve been muttering this entire time. Stop that. If you can’t bother to take this seriously, leave. You’re distracting the rest of us.”
How absolutely dare he insult Izuku like that!
Who the hell did this four eyed, blueberry haired, mother fucker think he was!
If they were in Yokahoma and he had heard him spout such insulting words to his friend, the tall brat would no longer have a tongue to speak with.
“All right, all right.”
The blonde hero spoke up again, slightly distracting Chuuya from his violent thoughts.
“Examinee number 7-1-1-1. Thanks for calling in with your request.”
Who did this blondie think he was a talk show host?
“The fourth villain type is worth zero points. That guys just an obstacle we’ll be throwing in your way.”
A zero pointer? No way, that just wasn’t right. It had to be a trick, would the hero’s seriously throw in a random machine just to fuck with the applicants?
Surely not if it’s worth nothing.
The hero kept speaking about the zero pointer for a few moments more, rambling on about how they should just avoid it.
Well, if Chuuya saw it he would destroy it, but if it really was worth nothing he wouldn’t go searching.
“That’s all I got for you today! I’ll sign off with a little present. A sample of our school motto!”
The red head tuned him out again, he did not give a shit about the school motto, he just wanted to get this dumbass test over with.
Nah did this mofo just scream plus ultra?
Once the blonde hero left the stage, papers were handed out and they would have to be completed in an hour.
The test was easier than he thought it would be, of course he didn’t know some of the answers, running top speed and barely getting anytime to catch his breath really winded him.
Though he just about finished the test, he almost didn’t make it to the last question, this was one of the first times in so long he focused so intensely.
The things he was doing for this crappy mission.
Actually taking a god damn test, this was bellow him.
The teenagers were allowed a few minute break before the physical exam and thank God for that.
“Chuuya Kun!”
The familiar voice of Izuku rung out through the room as he approached the shorter boy.
“Izuku Kun! It’s good to see you.”
The red head greeted, standing up from the chair and sitting on the very long table.
“Chuuyaaa kun!”
Denki said loudly, hitting his head on the desk Chuuya was sitting on and his knees fell to the ground as he made dramatic and clearly fake sobs.
“I failed! I so failed!”
“I’m sure you did fine Denki kun.”
The red head said, trying to disguise the irritation on his face, he gently patted the electric haired boy on the head.
“Hey are you two friends.”
The green haired boy speaks up, looking oddly at the whiny little kid, making him look up from the table.
“Oh yeah! I’m Kaminari Denki, pleased to meet ya’!”
Denki gets up and brushes himself off.
Fixing his attitude.
“Midorya Izuku, it’s nice to meet you to.”
He replied before looking at Chuuya.
“Hey Chuuya Kun, is that a new choker? Your last one didn’t have that pendent on it, or that letter, I don’t recognise it.”
Chuuya looked down at his neck.
The only reason he was wearing it was because the night before today his other choker vanished, he could only guess who nicked it.
“Oh yeah, I thought I just couldn’t read.”
Denki said, also looking at the disguised collar.
“It’s the English character for C. Don’t worry about it."
Chuuya said dismissively, wanting to wave the conversation away from the item around his neck.
“Hey, you’re a little red, are you okay.”
Izuku questioned.
“I’m fine, you know what we should get ready for the physical part of the exam.”
Chuuya could feel his face begin to burn as he stood up and quickly sped away.
Notes:
Finally the entrance exam is here and I shit you not I could find NOTHING on the written part of the exam so I took some creative liberties.
Also I’m uploading this on Friday the thirteenth it’s not October so what’s the worse that could happen

Chapter Text
Chuuya calmed down his erratic feelings as he and many others made their way to the battle centres.
Izuku and Denki were at different mini towns.
Midorya was expected as they had been friends for a while now.
Kaminari was just Coincidence.
That didn’t make a difference to Chuuya, he had no plans to team up with anyone.
He had a different plan.
Go straight to the other side of the makeshift town, no one would be there so early, so free game.
How much money did they spend on this?
Way too much probably.
The battle centres weren’t exactly small and with the faux villains that would just add to the expenses, also the cities would probably have been destroyed and would have to be rebuilt over and over again, that couldn’t be cheap.
“Alright let’s start!”
The blonde hero yelled, the kids seemed to distracted by his sudden call out to notice the gates to the city open.
Chuuya wasted no time in rushing into the mini city.
There would be no countdown in a real battle why would there be one here.
“Get moving! There are no countdowns in real battles! That red headed kid seemed to get it! Run, run, run listeners! You’re wasting airtime here.”
Chuuya could feel the other applicants eyes watch as he ran, followed by them running to follow his lead.
Just as he had planned he ran to the edge of the battle centre, a few one and two pointers started marching towards him.
With his ability active he made quick work of those machines.
There was no one around so no need to fake fatigue.
He had ten-minutes, he had to make the most of that.
It feels like a long time but those ten-minutes would go by fast.
He clung to the walls, kicking the, heads? Off the machines whenever they got too close.
He wasn’t counting how much points he gained but if he had to guess he had nearly fifty, which was probably enough to pass but you could never be to sure.
He had no plans to move from his spot, many bots came by that were quickly dismantled, still not many came around.
He had no plans to move until a massive rumble traveled up the wall he resided on.
He looked around and saw an absolutely UNIT of a villain.
That was the zero pointer!
That thing was bigger than the buildings!
He heard people scream and run in the opposite direction to the machine which lumbered towards the applicants, destroying buildings, the rubble getting very near the other kids.
Chuuya didnt even think before darting along the building’s wall, trying to find a good point to jump on the thing.
The zero pointer swings its arm into the building opposite the red head, the debris quickly fell towards applicants who couldn’t run as fast.
He pushed himself from the wall, landing on the broken up floor, skidding to a stop in front of a few kids who fell to the floor.
A large boulder like debris rushed towards them.
The other children yelled for him to move but he simply cranked his leg back before kicking up, practically doing the splits while standing up.
The rock shattered immediately and the smaller chunks exploded off to the side.
He turned his head to the younger people, who stared up at him in awe and terror.
“Get up and run.”
Chuuya commanded and the others quickly scrambled to their feet and took off.
The broken pieces of debris began floating in the air.
The zero pointer crashes it’s fist down to the floor just about missing the red head as he jumped back, twisting his body in the air and landing on the floating chunk of rock.
The machine was upside down to Chuuya but that would make no difference.
He wanted this thing destroyed.
Chuuya started to run, other bits of rock floated under his feet as he circled around the faux villain.
The machine swung at him but he could twist around and avoid the hits.
Good thing he was experienced in fighting larger foes or else he would probably be dead.
Whose idea was it to add this beast of a trap to the exams.
This was basically a death trap.
He quickly grew tired with running circles around this thing.
He skidded to a stop and the next thing to greet him was the fist of the machine.
He quickly lifted a leg and lightly kicked the fist, holding it in place as Chuuya sighed.
A red glow surrounded the zero pointer as its legs buckled underneath itself, gravity had increased greatly within it and soon the pressure grew to be too much as it began to crumple and break.
Chuuya sighed once more as he walked down to the floor, flipping the rock he was standing on as it crashes to the ground and he casually stepped off it.
The alarm for the end of the ten-minutes rang out shortly after.
The aplicants were allowed to leave a few moments later.
Chuuya and Denki walked together.
The taller boy looked absolutely exhausted.
The red head had to pretend he was tired even though he really wasn’t.
“Man. That was rough!”
Denki complained as he fell onto his seat on the train.
Chuuya sighed in agreement, sitting next to him.
“How well do you think you did?”
“I don’t know! I wasn’t counting.”
The electric haired boy faked a sob as he covered his face in his hands.
“I know I got at least fifty-“
“Fifty! How?”
Denki grabbed onto Chuuya shoulders and shook him lightly.
“I just hung out on a wall and destroyed near by villains.”
The red head out his hands up in mock surrender.
“You just hung out on a wall… what the hell is your quirk?”
Denki let go and slumped back into his seat.
“It’s gravity manipulation.”
Chuuya answered and the taller just nodded.
“Mines electricity.”
Denki pointed at himself.
This just reminded Chuuya that he never asked before.
They continued to speak for a while.
They spoke about really random things, from music taste to favourite food.
Denki was pleasant to speak to, despite his lack of brain cells at times, he was funny.
“Can you young people be quiet!”
An older man approached the two as the train came to a stop.
He glared down at them with a hateful gaze.
“Sorry sir we didn’t realise we were so loud.”
Chuuya apologised but he didn’t feel sorry.
They weren’t being loud this old geezer just wanted an excuse to have a moan at them
“how about next time you keep your tone down.”
“How about next time you mind your own fucking business.”
The red head sneered, his voice suddenly stern, Denki snorted at the sudden change of tone.
“Be kind to your elders.”
The man began to walk away taking one last glance at the teens.
“Oh go shove it ya’ wanker.”
Chuuya bumped his fists together, the man wanted to make a comment but the train doors shut and it started to move, leaving the man glaring at the kids.
Denki laughed quite loudly once the train had moved on.
His laugh was infectious and forced a laugh from Chuuya.
“I didn’t think you had that in you, you seem so kind.”
The taller wiped his eyes and tears had beaded at the corners.
“Sometimes it’s just hard to hold my tongue.”
The shorter replied breathlessly.
“Hey Chuuya Kun, what does this mean?”
Denki mimicked Chuuya’s previous gesture.
The red head quickly tapped his hands down.
“It’s like giving someone the middle finger, don’t do that.”
Chuuya said with a wide smile.
The meaning of the gesture just made Denki laugh more.
Before Denki had to get off the train both boys exchanged numbers.
Looking at his contact list Chuuya realised he had like three people on his personal phone and one was Mori.
That’s honestly kind of sad.
Chuuya made it back to his flat, fumbling to find the keys in his pocket.
He just wanted to go to bed, he didn’t care if he had dinner or not.
“Hey kid.”
The familiar voice of Hana echoed through the empty halls.
She walked up him, wearing something much more casual.
“Let me make you dinner, I’m sure you’ve had a long day.”
she says with an empathetic look on her face.
“Oh that’s no need-“
Chuuya was about to argue but he was dragged by his wrist over to Hana’s room.
“Help me in the kitchen, tell me about the exams.”
Chuuya didn’t have much choice but to agree.
He recounted the entrance exam.
The older woman stayed quiet and listened to him talk, she certainly seemed interested in this topic, it’s probably been a long time since she had seen them.
Once dinner had finished cooking they both sat down on the sofa and ate.
Chuuya noticed her giving him occasional glances to make sure he was actually eating.
“I can’t believe they still use that zero pointer.”
Hana says through noodles stuffed in her mouth.
“That thing was always so dangerous.”
She sighed sounding disappointed.
“Y’know a friend of mine got injured during our entrance exam and barely finished it because of the zero pointer.”
Her tone grew harsher the more she spoke.
“Seemed like more children would have been wounded if you didn’t help out, I’m proud of you Chuuya kun.”
Her words hit deep within his soul as he gripped the bowl tighter.
Chuuya held a tea in his hand as he rummaged through his mail
A lot of nothing, just some random junk that he would bin in a minute.
A lot of nothing until one letter was from U.A.
It took less time than he thought to get this thing.
He walked through the halls of the building, just staring at the letter.
He knew he got in but there was still a part of him that grew nervous.
He stopped walking in front of a door, making the paper float beside him as he knocked.
“Come in the doors unlocked!”
Hana’s voice called out.
Chuuya opened the door and stepped inside her room.
“Oh hey kid, what’s up?”
She sat on the sofa, casually leaning back.
The boy walked up to her and he immediately noticed her lack of a right leg.
His eyes widened at the scarred stump.
Hana noticed his gaze and dismissively waved her hand, tapping the spot next to her for Chuuya to sit.
“You’re missing a leg.”
He said as he sat down.
She nodded.
“Yeah, it’s why I had to retire so early.”
She said with a shrug.
How did he never notice?
Last time he saw her, she definitely had two legs.
She must have a prosthetic.
“Anyway what brings you here kid?”
He picked the letter from the air, deactivating his ability.
The woman’s eyes lit up as she saw it.
“What are you waiting for! Open it!”
She near commanded enthusiastically.
Chuuya just smiled and tore open the envelope, taking out the contents.
A letter and a small disk.
He put the metal disk on the coffee and table and after a second or two it emitted a loud electric buzz and a moment later a hologram of… All Might? Appeared in the air.
“Hello! I am here as a projection!”
The hologram of the number one hero said immediately.
Chuuya’s jaw dropped in a mild disgust for reasons he could not pin point.
Wait why was All might here?
“Alright I’ve got a lot of these to get through so let’s make this quick! You child are looking at U.A’s newest faculty member!”
“Newest faculty member…”
Hana said breathlessly as she sat up.
Oh Chuuya could not be luckier!
The person he was sent to gather intel on was now a teacher at the school he would be attending!
“You passed the written exam with flying colours, well done Nakahara san, and you also passed the physical exam with fifty four points! But that’s not all! It wouldn’t be a hero course if you weren’t scored on rescuing your fellow applicants, a panel of judges watches, and they award points for heroic acts beyond just fighting villains. Nakahara Chuuya, you got seventy rescue points, in total you gained, uh quick maths… what’s that… a hundred and twenty four points! You passed the exam and I can’t wait to have you as a student.”
The hologram shut off.
He made it.
With such high points.
“AAHH! You did it!”
Hana yelled dragging herself and Chuuya up almost effortlessly, she twirled him around in her arms, Jesus this woman was strong, but due to her lack of a right leg she tumbled and fell back.
Chuuya activated his ability and softened the call for the both of them.
He was again pulled into a a hug.
“I’m so happy for you! Y’know you got more points than me! And I was top of my class during that exam!”
she praised, tears beginning to roll down her face.
He had a few days before he had to go to U.A.
He spent the first few days with Hana, talking and joking, he learned more about her hero days and my God that woman was ruthless.
She recalled fights that ended in burnt corpses of villains that refused to back down, killing laws were much more relaxed back then.
She was called fire flower, many villains feared that name.
One night Chuuya just couldn’t fall asleep, he didn’t know why but he just couldn’t.
He didn’t know why until he heard his window open and the damn mackerel climbed in.
He held something in his hands.
“What are you doing here Dazai?”
The red head said tiredly.
Dazai hummed and sauntered up to him, plotting himself on the bed as he held up what seemed to be a bottle of wine.
“I heard you got into that school, so I thought we should celebrate.”
The brunette said casually, handing the bottle to the shorter, who graciously took it.
“I’ll go grab glasses.”
Dazai shot off, turning the light on, slightly blinding Chuuya for a moment.
He came back with two wine glasses.
“Why are we celebrating this? We didn’t exactly celebrate you joining the league.”
The red head said as he swung his legs over the bed, sitting up right and pulling the cork from the bottle.
“Oh please like that was hard.”
Dazai say, sounding disappointed as he held out the cups.
Chuuya snorted as he poured wine into the glasses and placing the bottle onto the table beside the bed.
“Even you could do it.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
The red head hissed, taking a glass from Dazai who gave him no response.
“Whatever, how did you even get this?”
Chuuya took a sip of the wine.
“I just waited until the other members were busy doing something, they don’t trust me enough to go out with them yet.”
The brunette shrugged, drinking a bit of his own wine.
“But they trust you alone? In their base?”
Chuuya sneered, swirling the cup.
“They aren’t the smartest group I’ve seen.”
“No they aren’t.”
One drink down and Chuuya was already buzzed.
He could never handle his alcohol and Dazai always found that amusing.
The brunette was on his second glass but he felt fine, unlike the little shrimp, he could manage wine.
The red head patted Dazai on the shoulder before laughing randomly.
“What’s funny puppy?”
The brunette gently pushed Chuuya away with his elbow.
“Nothing!”
The red head laughed like a hysteric, before downing the once full glass of wine in his hands.
Dazai did the same except his wasn’t a full glass.
Chuuya grabbed the half full wine bottle and filled up their glasses before putting it back.
“You’ve gonna have the worst hangover in the morning.”
Dazai teased, leaning back and resting on his bandaged arm.
“Well you better take care of me then.”
Chuuya matched his teasing tone, dragging himself onto the taller’s lap and wrapping his arms around the brunette neck.
Dazai couldn’t help but grin.
His dog was so clingy drunk.
It was adorable.
Even though Chuuya wouldn’t remember tonight, Dazai sure would.
He shivered at the silver pendent grazing his scarred skin, his smile just widened knowing his dog wore his collar.
“You’re so, so, so comfy.”
The red head shifted his hips slightly and took a large swig of his drink.
Another shiver ran down Dazai’s spine.
“Careful with how you move slug.”
The brunette ran a hand through the shorter hair and gently pulled his head back.
He let go as a Chuuya frowned.
“Why? Afraid we might-“
The red head leaned closer but was cut off and stoped by Dazai’s hand pushing him back and holding him by the chin.
“Like I would ever so such inappropriate things with you, especially since you’re drunk.”
the brunette rolled his eye, shaking Chuuya slightly.
“Pfft, did you think I was going to kiss you? Ha ha ha! As if! Like I would ever want to shit like that with you! Like anyone would!”
The red head pulled away, taking another swig of his drink, inadvertently rolling his hips again, forcing Dazai to bite back a whine as he blushed furiously.
“I think it’s time for you to get off me.”
“Aww but you’re so comfy, and I can feel your-“
“Dogs shouldn’t talk so dirty to their owners.”
Chuuya was shushed by Dazai’s hand covering his mouth and was lightly pushed off his lap.
The night continued and the red head ended up passing out after another drink.
The brunette fell asleep soon after.
Just like Dazai had said, even though Chuuya remembered none of it, the shorter boy spent a good fifthteen minutes in the bathroom, on his knees vomiting.
The taller held his hair back, the events of last night still playing on repeat in his mind.
His face turned red as his mind and body remembered.
“I told you you’d have a bad hangover.”
He teased.
Chuuya groaned as he lifted his head faintly.
“Like I remember that arsehole…”
He hissed before throwing his head back down into the toilet bowl and puking.
Notes:
Another chapter done, I’m really enjoying writing this and I’m glad you guys like reading it
Chapter Text
A screen showed the placements of the applicants.
Hero’s and teachers alike gazed over the results.
“Hey that kid got over a hundred
points.”
“That’s possible?”
“I think that’s the first time I’ve seen someone get so many rescue points.”
“That second place kid only got hero points.”
“He was quite brutal wasn’t he.”
“Eighth place only got rescue points.”
Aizawa leaned on the wall, his arms crossed and face blank.
He observed the screen, the first place caught his attention.
Nakahara Chuuya.
He’d have to keep an eye out for that kid.
Chuuya’s mind still replayed on the night he got blackout drunk and how he remembered none of it.
Dazai would skirt around the question whenever he asked about that night.
His body always trembled whenever he saw the blush on the taller’s face as he avoided answering.
Chuuya knew Dazai wouldn’t do anything to him, especially while he was drunk, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that something more intimate had happened.
He knew Dazai probably wasn’t drunk, it took a lot to make him even buzzed, he just hoped Dazai would shut down any advancements if anything sensual happened.
But the way that bastard’s face turned red and the way he fumbled over his words as he changes the subject.
It made Chuuya’s nerves ignite.
He knew something happened, he just didn’t know what and he knew he wouldn’t get anything out of Dazai, trying would be pointless, the man would never talk if he didn’t want to.
He honestly just hoped it was something stupid that the mackerel didn’t want to come to light.
He prayed to the God trapped within him that it wasn’t something that made his skin itch with unease and violation.
He had no marks on his body to prove, that something happened, Arahabaki improved his regenerative abilities but healing still took time.
He tried to shake those thoughts but they stayed at the back of his mind, even as he stared at the open gates of U.A.
He was alone in the train ride, Denki hadn’t joined him, which just made his heart ache slightly.
The silence of the ride made it hard to ignore his anxiety filled thoughts.
He didn’t want to admit the fact that he enjoyed that dumbasses company.
Izuku hadn’t even messaged or called him since the entrance exam.
Hell even Dazai had seemed to ghost him.
Hana was spending time with family and he didn’t want to disrupt that.
He knew Arahabaki wouldn’t talk to him, that thing only spoke if they were affected.
He hated this feeling of loneliness he got whenever he had no one to talk to.
He had no right to feel like this, he’s always enjoyed the quiet.
But for reasons he didn’t know, this type of silence was excruciating.
Many other students rushed past him, they all seemed so excited and thrilled about the first day.
Chuuya couldn’t find it within himself to show off the vague excitement he did feel, couldn’t even fake it.
God his mood was fucked today.
He had to force a smile on his face and even then he knew how fake it looked.
Even inside the halls were filled.
Kids scrambled around trying to figure out where their home room classes were.
He has a hard time getting through the crowds, he had to push through.
Chuuya stumbled across a clearing where most students actually clung to the sides of the building, allowing others to pass.
That he was grateful for, he could actually get to his class without much more trouble.
The doors to 1A were absolutely massive, he knew quirks could drastically change someone’s appearance but surely no one could be THAT big.
He opened the absurdly large doors and stepped inside.
a few people were already there, he didn’t know any of them though.
“Chuuya Kun!”
A familiar voiced called out behind him.
He looked to where the voice came from and there was Izuku and Denki running towards him.
He smiled at them, and it felt real.
The two skidded to a stop to the side of Chuuya and the three walked into the classroom.
“Dude I’m so sorry I didn’t join you on the train, I completely overslept.”
Denki said apologetically.
“Don’t worry about it.”
The red head shrugs.
The teenagers went to go find seats.
They sat roughly in the middle of the class, Chuuya managed to get a window seat which he was grateful for, Dekni sat next to him and then Izuku sat at the end of the row.
It didn’t take much longer until more people joined the class, taking the empty seats.
The three talked for a while, nothing in particular, really just catching up with each other.
After a moment a young woman approached them and stared down at Chuuya.
“Hey, you were in battle centre E right?”
She said, her voice confident, but he could hear a small quiver.
Chuuya nodded, looking up at her.
“Yeah I was, why?”
She did look slightly familiar, he recognised her but he couldn’t pin point where he knew her.
“That giant machine nearly crushed me with a rock, you broke it and saved me, I never got the chance to thank you.”
She explained.
That’s why she looked familiar, he had saved her life.
“You’re welcome, it’s good to know you passed.”
Chuuya smiled at her.
She simply smiled back.
“I’m Yaoyorozu Momo, it’s nice to meet you properly.”
“Nakahara Chuuya and it’s good to meet you properly to.”
Yaoyorozu bowed slightly before walking away.
“OooOoo~ who’s the pretty lady.”
Denki teased, nudging the red head with his elbow.
“You heard her name.”
Chuuya responded, his tone filled with sarcasm.
“That’s not what I meant.”
The electric haired boy huffed, sulking back in his chair at the condescending tone his friend has just given him.
“What else could you mean?”
Izuku chimed in, mimicking Chuuya’s tone.
“What is this? Why am I being ganged up on.”
Denki crosses his arms and shrinks further into his chair even more, forcing a laugh from both other boys.
The schools cameras were surprisingly easy to hack into.
Dazai would’ve thought the highest rated school in Japan would have a tougher security system.
Though the sound wasn’t coming through, that was something he’s have to look into.
He saw Chuuya talking and laughing with a yellow haired kid and that broccoli haired brat.
He hated that he couldn’t hear what they were saying.
He might just have to make some adjustments to his dog’s collar so that he could hear what he was saying.
More and more kids flooded the classroom and eventually the place was full.
Dazai made a mental note of what they all looked like, because of the lack of sound he wouldn’t have a clue of their quirks, some he might be able to guess, like that pink girl probably had an acid quirk or an alien like quirk, that insanely short kid had balls on his head so that was probably his quirk.
He’d have to keep watching and learning about them.
The league hasn’t needed him much, they were still weary of him and his intentions, though it wouldn’t be long before they would trust him.
That he knew.
“Chuuya Kun?”
“Huh?”
Chuuya flinched at the sound of Denki’s voice and his light tap on his shoulder.
“You alright dude? You seem kind of out of it.”
The electric haired boy said softly, sounding concerned.
“Yeah did something happen?”
Izuku added, his tone matched Denki’s, his eyes also filled with worry.
Chuuya hasn’t realised that he had gone quiet.
He just zoned out, he wasn’t even thinking about anything, he just lost focus.
“Sorry… no yeah, I’m alright, I think it’s just the nerves of actually being here.”
He said with a nervous chuckle, scratching a nonexistent itch at the back of his neck.
The other boys didn’t look convinced but didn’t comment anymore, they would but didn’t have the chance to as an older looking man stepped into the class.
He just looked like he didn’t want to be here.
Honestly relatable.
He must be their teacher, probably a hero too, though he looked so fed up and worn out, maybe a retired hero?
“Alright brats shut up and listen,”
The black haired man said in a tired yet authoritative tone, sitting on his desk causally.
“Time is precious and it took you all eight seconds to be quiet.”
He criticised, looking completely uninterested in this class.
“Hello, I’m Aizawa Shota. Your teacher.”
Chuuya was right he was their teacher.
Though that was petty obvious, why wouldn’t he be their teacher he was the only adult to show up.
“Alright I’m not wasting anymore time, put these on and head outside.”
He said numbly, pulling a uniform from behind his desk, looked like a PE uniform.
Chuuya quickly realised he would have to change in front of the other men.
The bathrooms were locked, Aizawa hand’t bothered to unlock them beforehand.
His discomfort was obvious.
Denki and Izuku noticed it immediately, they didn’t say anything but their eyes said enough.
The green haired boy gave the red head a light comforting tap on the shoulder, giving a warm smile.
Reluctantly Chuuya pulled off his shirt, eyes and heads quickly turned.
He knew they were staring at the bandages around his chest and the scars littering his body.
Work with the mafia had been rough, most missions granted him a new scar, most did heal and vanish but some stuck to his skin.
The most prominent scar he had was a long closed up slit at the side of his stomach, the one Shirase gave him a little over a year ago now.
That scar would never fade, no matter how much time would pass.
He quickly through on the PE shirt and finished changing.
He walked out of the changing rooms, joining a few others at the training grounds.
A few minutes later everyone had joined him on the dusty field.
Aizawa stood in front of them, his usual blank expression on his face.
“Right brats were doing a quirk assessment quiz.”
What? Why?
This was not necessary, especially on the first day.
The rest of the class was surprised too.
“But orientation. We’re gonna miss it!”
A brown haired girl says.
Who the hell actually cares about orientation?
Chuuya wasn’t thrilled about this test but he was actually glad he would miss that boring assembly.
“Boo hoo, if you ever want to make it to the big leagues you don’t want to waste time in unimportant ceremonies.”
The teacher shrugged, Chuuya honestly agreed with him, though the other students didn’t seem to agree with him.
“U.A isn’t tied to traditions, I can operate my class however I see fit. You’ve been doing standardised tests most of your lives but never got to use your quirks in physical exams before.”
He said stiffly.
“The country’s still trying to pretend we are all born equal by preventing those with supernatural abilities from excelling.”
At the word abilities, Chuuya had to remind himself that abilities doesn’t always mean ability.
“Nakahara san, you got the highest score on the entrance exam.”
Aizawa looked directly at the red head, so did a few others.
Damn he got top marks.
“What was your farthest distance thrown with a softball in junior school?”
“I never did that sir, I was homeschooled.”
He lied.
The teacher just let out an annoyed sigh, gesturing for him to go stand in a circle.
“Don’t use your quirk, throw this.”
The black haired man tossed him a softball.
“Just stay in the circle.”
Chuuya nodded and threw the ball as far as he could.
“Fifty meters. Do that again but use your quirk.”
Chuuya was thrown another softball.
A red glow encased him and the ball.
Just like before he tossed it as far as he could.
The gravity of the ball decreased, allowing it to move further, the density increased to allow it to move faster.
“You all need to know your maximum capabilities. It the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro.”
The teacher held up a phone looking thing and it read 710 meters.
Chuuya head a lot of gasp and whispers about the score.
“I wanna go! That looks like fun!”
The pink girl called out excitedly.
“Fun huh.”
Aizawa said, sounding nearly disappointed.
“You have three years to become a hero, this isn’t going to be fun and games. You will compete in eight physical tests, whoever gets the lowest score will be expelled.”
That certainly wasn’t expected.
Many of his classmates had a problem with that but were quickly shot down.
“Natural disasters, major accidents and troublesome villains. Calamities that can't be predicted. Japan is full of injustice. Heroes are the ones who turn those situations around. If you want to make friends, too bad. For the next three years, U.A will give you difficult tests one after the other. Go beyond, plus ultra.”
He had said, that seems to be enough for the students to go quiet.
The first “game” was the fifty meters sprint.
He was up against Denki.
He felt bad for the poor soul, he hoped the guy wouldn’t be expelled.
At the gunshot Chuuya sprinted along the marked path, leaving Kaminari behind immediately.
“Five point three seconds!”
The automated voice announced.
That was a nice score, he was sure he wasn’t first but he certainly wasn’t last.
Though Denki was slower.
“Seven point four seconds!”
“Aww man..”
He whined, gasping for air.
“Don’t worry man I’m sure you’re not last.”
Chuuya patted him on the back.
Next test was a strength test.
They had to squeeze a device.
Relatively simple and quite easy.
He really didn’t have to use his ability for this but he did anyway.
312kg.
“Damn dude.”
Denki stared at his score.
Chuuya noticed Izuku’s score, and it was so low.
His quirk was super strength, he was strong Chuuya knew that all too well.
At least is nose did.
He was holding back on purpose.
Long jump was next.
Chuuya really just made himself float over the sand.
Izuku didn’t even make it past the camera.
This was honestly starting to annoy the red head.
Why was he holding back?
Could he not control his quirk?
No, no he couldn’t.
He remembered the green haired boy’s hand was broken after he punched Chuuya.
He used his quirk at the expense of his own body.
The next test was the Side-to-side jump.
Before he was up Chuuya needed to talk to Izuku.
“Izuku Kun.”
Chuuya stood next to Midorya, watching his nervous expression.
“H-hey Chuuya Kun.”
He replied with a shaky voice.
“Why aren’t you using your quirk. That’s kind of the whole point of this.”
“You know what’ll happen if I do,”
Izuku sighed.
“I don’t know how to use my quirk without hurting myself.”
Chuuya thought for a moment.
He did want to help this kid, he was a useful tool that he didn’t want to loose so soon.
“You could try focusing all your power on one part of your body, for this test maybe your toes.”
He advised, unsure if it would work but anything would be better than letting himself get expelled.
Midorya nodded anxiously, he was willing to try.
Just like Chuuya had thought,Izuku managed to upstage some of their classmates.
All he needed was a little good advice.
That advice really just being a guess.
For ball throwing he was able to sit out.
He had already done it so it would be pointless to do it again.
Instead he just observed the others.
He didn’t know all of their names but it would be more useful to know their quirks.
Soon Izuku stepped up.
He used Chuuya’s advice and channeled his power into his fingertip.
The ball went far, 705.3 meters.
Chuuya genuinely felt happy for him.
He was glad to have helped him.
He wanted to go congratulate his friend but an angry looking blonde kid stormed his way up to the green haired kid.
That blonde kid looked familiar, he couldn’t place it and for some reason he had a hatred for the kid already.
He knew his name was Bakugo but that was it.
“The fuck was that Deku!”
He snarled, his fists clenched together, sparks flew from his palms.
Chuuya could feel that hatred boil up at that insulting name.
“K-Kacchan I-“
Midorya practically shook in place, sweat beaded on his brow.
“You’ve had a quirk this whole time-!”
The blonde lifted a fist, looking as if he were about to throw a punch.
His hand was pulled back by Aizawa’s scarf, it soon restrained him completely.
“Izuku Kun are you okay?”
Chuuya ran up to him, his eyes scanning his body almost expecting to see a wound of some sort.
Denki also came running, he must of also assumed the worst.
“I’m fine. He didn’t hit me.”
Midorya reassured but that didnt calm the red head’s nerves.
“The hell is this!”
Bakugo yelled, trying to break free, however he was unsuccessful.
“It’s a capture weapon made from carbon fibre and a special metal alloy.”
Aizawa said numbly.
Izuku’s eyes light up as he looked at the teacher.
“Hang on I know him, he’s an underground hero, Eraser head.”
“That’s right, I can use my quirk to erase others quirks through line of sight.”
Aizawa confirmed, giving information about his quirk.
Chuuya would have to remember that.
A nullification power wasn’t something to take lightly.
With how old the hero looked he must have a lot of experience.
He could be troublesome if he were overlooked.
The next tests went by quite quickly.
Chuuya knew he passed so he didn’t worry too much about himself, his friends however, he did worry about.
Denki had an electricity quirk, that would only get him so far, especially if he can’t use it for something, electricity is more useful for offence, during this test, offence wasn’t really considered, for some of these games electricity would do nothing, like the fifty meter, Denki couldn’t exactly propel himself, his speed and stamina weren’t amplified by his quirk so for a quirk assessment, not all quirks were considered.
Izuku had super strength, Chuuya didn’t know if that strength could help with speed, he assumed it didn’t so that fifty meter really was useless.
His quirk was more fit for these tests, but he couldn’t control his quirk well.
Chuuya had noticed these games weren’t good for kids who still hadn’t gotten used to their quirks.
It was practically a rigged match.
“Alright time to give you your results.”
Aizawa announced in his dull tone.
“I’ve ranked you all from best to worst, you should probably have a good idea on your standing already, I’ll just pull up the whole list, it’s not worth going over individual scores.”
Chuuya knew he would pass but he didn’t think he would be first.
Yaoyorozu was right bellow him.
He was honestly impressed considering she had a creation quirk.
Denki was seventeenth and Izuku was twentieth, one spot above last place.
A kid called Minoru Mineta was twenty first place. Which meant he was out.
Notes:
The beginning of this chapter was a lot more depressing than I thought.
My brain surprises me sometimesAlso some of the placements have been changed because of Chuuya.
Him being first pushes everyone down one and mineta would be gone anyway since there was to many students 21 instead of 20
Chapter Text
The rest of the school day was abnormally uneventful.
It was honestly shocking nothing had happened, especially with the people Chuuya decided to hang out with and the fact that they were a few disorders away from being mental cases.
That grape guy slotted in perfectly in a mental facility.
Apparently he had harassed some of his female peers.
It was a good thing he was gone.
Or else he might have ended up dead in a ditch somewhere with no hands.
That may still happen if he dares get near any people Chuuya knew.
The bell rang out for the end of the day, thank God, this day was painful.
First time he’s been to school and it made him reevaluate his life choices and what lead him to be in this situation.
He always thought the few members of the sheep who actually went to school were just exaggerating whenever they complained.
NO!
If anything they didn’t complain enough!
This place was hell!
He actually would prefer to hang out with Dazai!
That should say something!
The moment he got on that train he could feel the exhaustion of the day wash over him as he sat down, and he honestly just wanted quiet.
But who the hell gets quiet in this God damn city.
“Hey Chuuya kun!”
Kaminari flopped down in the seat beside the red head.
His tone way too loud and excited about nothing.
The way he normally was.
The way Chuuya had grown accustomed to.
“Hey Denki Kun.”
He replied, his voice the near opposite of the electric haired boy.
“Say, you’re smarter than me, can I get your help with something?”
Denki asks, scratching an invisible itch at the back of his neck.
Chuuya just raised an eyebrow, slightly happy that the taller had admitted who was smarter in this friendship.
“What do you need?”
The red head leaned back, looking up at the other.
“Well I stumbled across something online and a part of it confused me and I couldn’t stop thinking about it, I meant to ask Iida but I forgot, so I thought I should ask you.”
“Okay… what is it?”
“So, I can’t remember it exactly and I couldn’t find it again so I’ll just use my amazing memory.”
Chuuya snorts at the ironic words that came from that sentence.
Denki shot him a small glare before continuing.
“Something about three guys on a boat, they’re on a lake and one gets a drill and drills under his seat, the others yell at him and the guy with the drill says something like “what’s the problem I’m drilling in my spot only.” And the other guys just call him dumb or something. My issue is that I don’t know when it’s set because like it’s a religious text but it has to be more recent since there’s a drill.”
He placed a hand on his chin in thought.
Chuuya stared at him, a little dumbfounded.
“Denki… how- how old do you think drills are?”
What the taller said did sound vaguely familiar, it was probably a religious text which meant it was… what a thousand or so years old?
“I don’t know like…”
The gears started to turn in his head, Chuuya could practically see the smoke coming out of his ears.
“They would have been made around… the… in-industrial revolution… cause that’s like when they started using machinery.”
Oh Kudos to him he knows what the industrial revolution is, kind of.
But no, that’s just wrong.
“No, no dude… it wouldn’t have been a steel mechanic drill it would’ve been a wooden drill or something.”
Chuuya shook his head, feeling slightly disappointed.
“I don’t think so, a wooden drill would have been useless.”
Denki said, sounding way too confident.
“No it wouldn’t, it’s still a drill it would just work differently, it’d be more like a corkscrew or something.”
The red head made a small gesture with his hands to try and mimic the motion of an old drill, he gave up pretty quickly though.
“Wood would just be ineffective.”
Denki crossed his arms.
“People used to use spears and-“
“Spears had stone on them!”
The taller pouted, not willing to admit he was being dumb.
“I mean if people back then could melt down gold and make coins they could make a steal drill.”
“Were they melting down gold and making coins or were they just using gold chunks as coins?”
Chuuya could feel a headache coming on from this conversation and would mind this ending but he didn’t see that coming anytime soon.
“They could find gold, therefore they could find steel.”
“I’m not saying they didn’t have steel I’m just saying they probably wouldn’t use it like that.”
That painful conversation could’ve kept going but the train stopped and Denki had to get off.
The blonde shot up, slinging his bag over his shoulder, saying and waving goodbye before darting off.
Chuuya was honestly thankful the other had to leave, he didn’t know how much longer he was going to last in that conversation.
Soon the train came to another stop and Chuuya had to get off.
He just took a slow walk down to his apartment, he wasn’t in a rush, he had no need to be.
Then he remembered Hana needed him for something once he got home so he sped up his pace a bit.
He saw her outside the apartment building, on her phone casually leaning on the wall.
Her outfit was quite… punk?
She had on a black leather jacket and some torn jeans.
Contrasting the dark colours were some bright necklaces rings and bracelets, all of them were either neon blue or pink with a pineapple at the centre of the jewellery pieces.
Okay maybe not punk, but he couldn’t tell what style she was going for.
She looked up from her phone and smiled widely as she caught sight of him.
“Hey kid!”
She waved, pushing herself off the wall.
“Hey Hana san.”
He bounded up to her, a tired smile on his face.
“Go get changed we’re going to the mall.”
“We are?”
She nodded.
“Yeah come on, you’re still new to town and it’ll be good to get out.”
She wasn’t exactly wrong, Chuuya wouldn’t think going to school counted as going out.
Izuku did give him a tour of the town around a week or so ago but they never went inside the buildings.
He simply nodded before going inside the apartment.
“Oh make sure you wear something nice, not a grey hoodie and sweatpants please.”
She called out.
Yeah that was a fair ask he had been wearing such drab outfits a lot lately.
He had to at least try to match that old woman, no way was he going to look basic next to her.
He had to mix and match a few things to make an outfit he was happy with but he ended up wearing his own black leather jacket, that just reminded him of the sheep, a dark red tee shirt and loose fit trousers, he let one side of the clothing price hang just bellow his waist, and of course he wore a black fedora with a red trim, along with his gloves that matched the base colour of his hat.
He seriously needed to go clothing shopping, especially for accessories, he still felt quite bland, hopefully he would fix that at the end of his trip.
Walking just behind Hana, she lead him around the town, talking about the different buildings they passed, saying stuff about how different they used to look when she was younger.
She wasn’t even that old she was like forty.
They reached the mall eventually, it was quite the long walk but, don’t think either of them minded that.
“Right kid where do you wanna go first?”
Hana asks, standing just to the side of the entrance, wanting to keep out of the way of other shoppers.
“Probably clothing shopping.”
He responded with a light murmur.
The older woman nodded, grabbing his wrist and started to drag him towards, where he could assume, the clothing shop.
“I was hoping you’d say that, we need to expand your wardrobe kid.”
The store he was dragged to certainly had lots of different selections, a lot of different brands that he didn’t know.
Chuuya knew what worked for his body type and sense of style so he wouldn’t differ too far from what he knows looked good on him.
Hana told him to go wild, pick at least four outfits, she would pay.
Chuuya didn’t feel great about letting her pay but it’s not like he had the money.
The older woman sat on a small bench near the entrance to the shop while the red head looked around, when he found something he liked he draped it over his arm and kept looking.
He wanted to make sure everything he bought would match together in case he ever wanted to mix and match the different outfits, he knew he would do that eventually.
He made sure the clothing items fit before wondering back over to Hana, his eyes looking over a few more outfits that he would have to buy some other time.
“Hey kid, find what you wanted?”
The older woman stood up, shoving her phone into her pocket.
Chuuya nodded with a smile.
She mimicked his expression.
“Alright then let’s go pay.”
With the clothes in a paper bag, Hana insisted they go get ice cream.
Chuuya couldn’t say no, ice cream sounds quite nice right now.
They sat on a bench outside a random shop, the red head silently watched the people walk by, enjoying the more peaceful atmosphere of the mall.
As much as he disliked being in silence around people, with the retired hero, the silence was comfortable.
“Nakahara san.”
The silence was soon interrupted.
He tilted his head slightly in the direction of the female voice, that sounded slightly familiar.
Oh it was Yaoyorozu.
No wonder the voice was familiar.
He smiled at her, noticing a few other people behind her.
“Yaoyorozu san, it’s good to see you.”
He said sincerely.
She smiled as the two other people approached.
Those other people felt familiar but he couldn’t place it, they certainly weren’t from the same class as him he had their appearances memorised.
“Hey he’s the one who saved us during the entrance exam.”
Another girl, she seemed to have a large mushroom hat, said, a dead looking eye poked from her mushroom like hair style.
He was used to that kind of look but it was still unsettling.
“Oh yeah it is. Hey man it’s good to see you, thanks for saving us.”
The ginger haired woman says with a wide grin.
Now he remembered, that’s why the felt familiar.
“We didn’t see you at orientation, did you get in?”
The mushroom girl chimed in.
“Oh I did get in, my class just wasn’t there.”
Chuuya answered her.
She nodded.
“You kids know each other?”
Hana butted in, giving the red head a sideways glance.
“We’re in the same class.”
Yaoyorozu said, her gaze drifting over to the retired hero.
“We aren’t.”
The ginger haired girl shrugged.
“Me and Kinoko chan are in class 1 B,Momo chan and Nakahara san are in class 1 A.”
Okay he knew the mushroom girls name.
“Ah I see.”
Hana says casually, her eyes darting between the girls.
“Say Chuuya Kun, why don’t you hang out with these lovely ladies.”
“Oh I wouldn’t want to interrupt their day.”
Chuuya tried to back out of this suggestion but the younger girls didn’t mind the idea.
“I don’t mind, I’d love to hang out.”
Kinoko said with an eerie smile,
“Yes, we are school mates after all, and our interaction early was quite brief.”
The black haired woman smiled softly, her demeanour was inviting.
“Don’t feel forced Nakahara san, we’ll understand if you don’t want to, we are strangers after all.”
The last girl spoke up.
When he fought through his slowly winning exhaustion, he could see this turn out to be more informative.
Suppose agreeing to this hang out would benefit him in some way.
Maybe it would be better to not be just strangers with these girls.
“Alright then,”
Chuuya stood up.
“I’ll hang out.”
“I’ll see you later kid.”
Hana also rose to her feet, taking hold of the paper bag.
“I’ll keep your stuff in my room make sure you swing by and grab it.”
“Thanks Hana san, I’ll see you later.”
The red head smiles and waves goodbye to the retired hero.
“Was that your mom?”
Yaoyorozu asks, watching as Hana walks off.
“No, she just likes to look after me.”
Chuuya says, his face started to hurt because of how much he was smiling.
“Okay…”
The black haired woman trails off, her eyes looking slightly worried but she never commented about what was on her mind.
Chuuya learned a lot about those girls.
Komori Kinoko, the mushroom girl, her quirk allowed her to emit spores from her body, and those spores will grow into mushrooms when they touch a surface.
Kendo Itsuka was the ginger girl, her quirk made her able to enlarge her fists and essentially give her super strength.
These quirks were quite odd, and so were the people they were attached to.
He already knew about Yaoyorozu’s quirk, it was a creation ability, as long as she had a decent amount of fat on her body, she could make pretty much anything.
The group found themselves at a small and nearly empty cafe at the opposite end of the mall.
Drinks were ordered and they just talked.
Talking turned into gossiping.
“There’s this guy that sits near me, I think his name is Monoma. Dude pisses me off.”
Itsuka frowned, holding a steaming tea in her hands.
“Oh I think I remember him.”
Kinoko chimed in, leaning forward slightly.
“Yeah the guys a maniac, at first I thought he was like, just competitive, but then he just became insulting.”
The light ginger haired woman sighs, sounding disappointed in her classmate.
“He certainly sounds like a character..”
Momo says, looking exasperated by the way the ginger spoke.
“Oh that reminds me, for some reason, Chuuya Kun.”
Chuuya hums in acknowledgment, looking over to his classmate.
“I think tomorrow we’re getting our hero costumes.”
“Seriously?”
The red head sat up straight.
“That was fast.”
“I know but I guess the people who make them are fast workers.”
The black haired woman agrees before taking a sip of her drink.
“Wow, your hero costumes are already done.”
The mushroom girl says, looking between the 1A students.
“That was fast, our hero costumes won’t be ready for a while yet.”
Itsuka speaks up.
“It won’t be that long, maybe a few extra days, I don’t think it’ll take longer than a week.”
Kinoko says confidently, placing her drink down before clasping her hands together.
Then, tone for Chuuya’s burner phone went off.
Just wonderful timing, he was having a good day.
He pulled his phone from his pocket and stood up.
“I need to take this I’ll be back in a second.”
He says before walking just outside the cafe.
He answered and put the burner up to his ear.
“Hello?”
He speaks into the phone.
“Hey puppy!”
Dazai’s annoying voice rung through his head.
“When did you start calling me that?”
“Oh it was the other night when you got drunk.”
The brunette responded.
“Oh yeah the night you won’t tell me about.”
Chuuya said through gritted teeth.
“Yeah… anyway, I just needed to let you know about an upcoming event.”
“Okay…?”
That piqued the red heads interest.
“In about a week or so, you and your class are gonna go to a place called Unforeseen Simulation Joint.”
“How do you know this?”
Chuuya asks, shifting stance.
“I looked into the school records, it’s quite common for classes to go at least once, it’s around the same time each year.”
Dazai explains, another sound came through the phone, it sounded electronic but Chuuya hadn’t a clue as to what it was nor did he care.
“I’m guessing the league of bad names is going to make an appearance.”
The red heads snorts.
“Probably, I’m sure they will once they find out about it. Anyway, are you busy?”
He asks suddenly changing the topic.
“Uh, I’m hanging out with some friends so yeah I am.”
Chuuya could tell that wasn’t the answer Dazai was looking for, on the other line a soft hum of disappointment could be heard.
“Maybe tomorrow we could hang out, my dog’s been so distant from his owner lately.”
“Stop calling me your dog… but fine, if I’m not busy, we can hang out tomorrow.”
“Great! I’ll see you later slug!”
“Later mackerel.”
They hung up on each other.
Chuuya stuffed his phone back in his pocket and returned to the girls.
“Who was that?”
Momo asks, her eyes following him as he sat down.
“Prank call.”
He sighs.
“I’ve been getting them a lot lately.”
“Why do you keep picking up then?”
Itsuka asks, eyeing him curiously.
“It’s fun to toy with them.”
He answers with a shrug, a small smile on his face.
“But they can be annoying at times. Speaking of annoying, you’ll never believe the conversation I had earlier.”
They were all having a good time but all good times must end eventually.
It grew later and later in the day and the group had to disband and head home.
Chuuya was ready to pass out in his bed, once he was alone and walking back to his apartment, exhaustion crept up on him and it weighed down heavily on him.
He didn’t even care to have dinner he just wanted sleep.
He half expected to see Hana waiting for him at his door, however, the only thing waiting for him was a small bento box, a note and the paper bag at his doorstep.
He picked up both items, making them float beside him as he opened his door.
He pinched the small paper before walking inside his room.
He put away the bento box into the mini fridge that resided in his open kitchen.
He made his way to his bedroom and fell onto the bed, the paper bag floated and fell to the floor, he’d put his clothes away when he had energy, he put the note up to his face.
“Hey kid sorry I couldn’t see ya before bed my sister’s gone into labour and I needed to go. I made you some food so eat before you go to sleep.”
Xoxo Hana
A smile tugged at his lips as he crumpled the note.
He tossed the paper and forced himself to get up and change.
He took off his… collar.. and placed it on the bedside table before completely passing out.
He didn’t want to wake up but the sun decided to try and blind him.
Even nature hated him.
His curtains were so shit, he needed to fix them somehow.
He would worry about that another time he needed to get to school.
That was a sentence he never wanted to think about.
Whatever it was just for the mission, as soon as it was over he would ghost everyone.
He practically collapsed onto his chair, he rested his head on his desk, arms wrapped just underneath his cheek, tiredly gazing up to the front of the room.
He didn’t know why he was so exhausted today, he just had no energy.
Suppose he wasn’t used to getting up this early.
He was not an early morning person.
Yes he has woken up even earlier before due to other mission, but he was always drowsy and it took him hours to wake up fully.
His classmates soon filled the room, he got a few stares but no one spoke up.
He heard that blonde bitch spit out a insult, that kid was so lucky he has to pretend to be “nice” or else his tongue may have been cut out, or his jaw might detach from his body.
He stopped his thoughts from becoming too violent when their home room teacher stood up from the floor in an obnoxiously bright sleeping bag.
He should be more surprised but he honestly couldn’t be bothered.
“Right brats I’m sure yesterday was a rough first day, and I’m feeling nice so I’ll keep this short. I’ll let you kids have a more relaxed start of the day, it seems Nakahara san would appreciate that.”
The teacher singled out Chuuya, who just gave a small huff in response.
“Take a nap if you want kid, I won’t punish you for it, I’d be a hypocrite if I did.”
The red head got a few stares but his eyes quickly grew heavy as he fell unconscious.
“I AM HERE!”
The sudden yell of the pro hero startled Chuuya awake, a small gasp escaped his throat as he jumped out of his skin, shooting back in his chair.
He felt something fall down his back, another blazer, he looked to his side and saw Denki without the grey jacket, he couldn’t comment as his attention was being pulled back to the pro hero as he spoke more.
“COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A HERO.”
The red head just stared in mild disgust and the obnoxious tone on the adult.
The other students gasped in awe.
“I can’t believe it’s really All Might!”
Denki said, sounding ecstatic.
“Uh.. you good man?”
He looked over at Chuuya, who looked just offended by the hero.
“I have a headache…”
The red head mumbled, his eyes quickly narrowed, twitching with annoyance.
This school was going to be the end of him.
He really hoped this mission wouldn’t last so long, he could not take much more of that man’s voice.
He knew he would have to put up with it as long as he attended and he hated that fact.
Everyone else looked so in awe of the pro hero.
It was understandable, he was the number one pro, but good Lord was his voice aggravating.
“Welcome to the most important class at U.A high!”
All might spoke up again, his eyes unreadable as they looked pure black.
“Think of it as hero-ing 101.”
“Bro why do you look so disgusted..?”
Denki whispers to Chuuya, his face turning into a sad frown.
The taller boy got no response.
“Here you will learn the basics of being a pro!”
All might continues.
“And what it means to fight in the name of good!”
In the name of good?
That was… unintentionally vague.
He would think about that more later.
“Let’s get into it! Today’s lesson will be: Pull No Punches!”
The hero yells, pulling a title card from behind… wait where was he storing that?
The guy had no pockets.
ANYWAY
Fight training, actual combat.
That piqued Chuuya’s interest, he didn’t think mock fights would be so early on in the year, though he should expect that by now.
This would be a good way to learn more about his classmates quirks, he had really only seen one properly used in combat, and that ended with him nearly bleeding out.
Other than the weird expulsion test, he hadn’t seen the others quirks.
This would be interesting.
Momo was right.
Their hero uniforms were done.
They were required to wear the costumes and head to the train facility they were to be fighting at.
The others outfits were certainly something.
Chuuya’s was quite fancy, more so than he had thought it would be, his outfit was inspired by the port mafia, a loose sleeveless suit with an oversized jacket hanging over his shoulders, he had a dark red undershirt that was nearly black, the same dark red accented his jacket and fedora, unfortunately he hat to keep his dumb collar as he his uniform hand come with a proper chocker.
He noticed a white pattern on his gloves, coat and suit, it had rigged stripes that resembled a spider in some way.
“You’re kind of like a spider, I mean in the way that you hang upside down a lot! During our fight I noticed that you stayed upside down even though you didn’t have to. I would’ve thought that would make it harder for you to fight but I guess not.”
Izuku rambled.
That’s where he got the idea from.
He didn’t like spiders but the green haired boy’s words stuck with him.
He might as well play into that theme, if only vaguely.
Chuuya took note of the others costumes, and some of them… were just inappropriate.
Izuku had a rabbit like costume, a little odd but it was fine.
The bitchy blonde played into the explosive side of his quirk, wearing fake grenades on his arms.
Momo however… her outfit was completely inappropriate for a fourteen year old girl.
Her chest was very nearly exposed and her skirt, if you could even call it that, just about covered her.
Kirishima, he remembered his name to be, was covered below the waist but he was shirtless.
Yes his quirk was something to do with his skin hardening, but was it necessary for him to be shirtless?
Like at least slap a black top over him.
Was there no restrictions for uniforms at this school?
Sure some of the pro hero’s outfits were quite revealing but they were adults.
Momo and Kirishima were fourteen, their outfits were not suitable for them.
Chuuya pulled off his jacket and walked over to Momo.
“Momo chan.”
“Hmm?”
She looks at him.
He held out his jacket, offering it to her, she just looked a little confused.
“I think you should wear it.”
“Oh! Thank you but I don’t see why I need to.”
Momo gently pushes his hand back.
“Your… outfit… is quite revealing, are you comfortable not being able to cover up?”
“I need it to be revealing, it’s easier to create without my clothes in the way.”
She says casually.
Chuuua frowns.
Could she not think of other ways to expose skin?
“You could have used zippers.”
“Zippers?”
“Yeah like a crap ton of zippers, you could expose some skin than cover it back up, you’d also be more protected, because you have so much skin showing you’re more vulnerable.”
“Oh… I see, I’ll keep that in mind.”
She nods at him.
He smiles at her and walks off going to join Denki and Izuku who were standing not too far away.
He pulls his jacket over his shoulders as he joins his friends.
“Hey Chuuya kun- oh my God your outfit is awesome!”
Denki beams as he sees the outfit.
“You look like a mafia boss!”
Oh how ironic was that, he certainly wasn’t the boss but he was a mafia member.
Though that was the look he was going for.
“Oh the white parts look like spiders, oh that’s sick!”
“Why are you being so nice to his outfit? You were just insulting mine.”
Izuku frowned, looking slightly offended.
“Dude you look like a rabbit that got thrown into green paint.”
Denki said coldly
“My mom made it…”
The green haired boy whimpered and shrunk back into himself.
“Whatever let’s get going!”
Kaminari said enthusiastically, grabbing a Chuuya by the wrist and attempting to grab Izuku but missed as the other pulled his hand away.
“I’ll join you in a minute go on!”
Midorya ushers them to go follow the others who were walking out of the tunnel.
“Uh okay… if this is about what I said about your costume-“
“No! No it’s nothing like that I just need a second.”
“If you’re sure.”
Chuuya was about to speak up but-
“C’mon Spider man!”
Denki began to run towards the other students, dragging Chuuya along with him.
He made his voice deeper, trying to sound… like… something.
“Hey!”
The red head called out, trying to free his wrist but he didn’t want to go flying on his face so he allowed the taller boy to drag him along.
“Now that you’rere ready it’s time for combat training.”
All might announced.
“Sir!”
A guy in an actual suit of armour, who sounded like Iida, spoke up.
“This is the fake city from our entrance exam, does this mean we’re conducting urban battles again?”
“Not quite! I’m going to move you two steps ahead!”
All might began to explain what the training was going to do.
Two teams, a villain duo and a hero duo.
The villain duo needed to plant a bomb on a five story building, the hero duo needed to apprehend the others and stop the bomb.
This would have be a timed event, if the bomb goes off the heroes lose.
They also lose if they are captured.
A relatively simple concept, certainly a good way to train students in closed space combat.
The duos were chosen at random, names were drawn from a large yellow box.
Chuuya was paired with Momo.
He definitely had an idea where both their quirks could be used, it just depended on what side they were on.
The first teams were soon chosen
Team D as the Villains and Team A as heroes.
A recipe for disaster.
That blonde bitch and Izuku had a past, Chuuya knew that from the few interacts he had observed from those two.
Everyone else was sent to the Monitoring room.
Chuuya stood beside Denki and Momo as they all watched Izuku and the brown haired girl, Uraraka he was pretty sure her name was, sneak into the building.
The red head made sure to remember the interior of the building, when it was his turn that would be useful information.
The hero duo stalked around the halls, staying discreet.
It shocked everyone when Bakugo appeared behind them.
Chuuya’s blood boiled when he saw that blonde attempt to explode Izuku’s head directly, it was extremely lucky that the green haired boy managed to duck out of the way but his costume was torn.
“A sneak attack? Not cool!”
Denki said, an unusual annoyance in his tone.
“Yeah! Not manly at all!”
An actual red head, Kirishima, agreed.
“Quite sudden yes! But it’s a tactic in real battles!”
All Might says, trying to speak as if he were teaching them something.
No that wasn’t a tactic, that was just an act of violence.
Obviously he was used to violent attacks, he was in the mafia after all, even before that his first interaction with Dazai was aggressive.
But in this environment such an act shouldn’t be dismissed.
“Midorya dodged it!”
Ashido called out with a smile.
Bakugo went in for another punch but it seemed like Izuku knew he would do that.
The green haired boy grabbed his arm and twisted it in the air and tossed the blonde onto his back.
He got back up quickly and faced Izuku, completely ignoring Uraraka.
“Hey who’s Bakugo talking to?”
Kirishima asks.
There was no sound so it was impossible to tell what he was saying.
“He’s got a radio in so he can talk to his partner.”
The pro hero answers.
“I gave it to him before the match started, along with a map of the building.”
“So there’s a fifteen minute time limit, and the hero’s have no idea what floor the bombs on right?”
Ashido speaks up again.
All might confirms her question.
“Then the hero’s have a major disadvantage here.”
“Real pros have to outwit Villains on a daily basis, that’s life.”
The hero says.
“Even when the odds aren’t in our favour, we fight!”
All the students except Chuuya gasped almost as if… No…
“All Together!”
Stop.
“Let’s hear a plus ultra!”
Both All might and the students yell, much to Chuuya’s disgust.
Yeah you’d have to pay him double what a mafia executive makes in a year to make him say that bullshit.
“Dude what is with you today? Why do you look so disgusted?”
Denki whispers with an exaggerated frown.
“Monsieur, he’s on the move.”
Aoyama said, drawing everyone’s attention back to the fight.
Uraraka ran away while Bakugo was still focused on Izuku.
The blonde ran up to the other and threw a kick aimed at his head.
Again a shameless act of violence that wasn’t called out.
Bakugo’s impulsive punch seemed to also be predicated as Izuku rolled out of the way as an explosion missed his face.
Midorya took the small window of the blonde’s daze to run in the opposite direction and quickly lost him.
“Sensei.”
Chuuya says, looking up at All might.
“Yes Nakahara san?”
The hero cranks his head down to look at the red head.
“I don’t think this should continue.”
He crossed his arms, trying to look uncomfortable, judging by the few looks he got, he nailed that.
“Why not?”
All might tilts his head slightly, an eye squinting.
“You saw how Bakugo was moving, every attack he made aimed for Izuku kuns head, he’s actively trying to do serious damage.”
“I understand your concerns Nakahara san, however if something happens I will prevent it myself.”
The hero reassures but Chuuya couldn’t help but doubt his words.
Uraraka had found the weapon, Iida looked to be having some sort of break down and it was weird to watch without sound.
Good on her for finding it but Iida doesn’t seem okay.
Chuuya felt a cold sweat run down his spine when he saw Bakugo and Izuku meet back up.
The two appeared to talk for a moment before the blonde lifted up his arm and pulled back the trigger on his grenade cuff.
Chuuya saw sparks fly off the large cuffs.
Wait… did he actually have bombs in those things?!
“All Might!”
“Young Bakugo, don’t do it, you’ll kill him.”
The blonde says something before a large explosion burst out of his cuff and bursts towards Izuku.
Chuuya’s jaw went slack as his mind went to the worst places.
He turned to All might, expecting him to keep his word and go stop the fight, but he just spoke into the comm.
“All Might!”
The red head yelled, getting the attention of the hero and most other students.
“Can you crouch down so we can see eye to eye?”
A little confused the hero crouches down, still a few inches taller than Chuuya but..
SLAP
The students gasped as All Might was forced onto his knees, a hand on the floor the other on his now red cheek.
The hero just stayed still, completely stunned.
“What the hell are you doing! Keep your word and go stop them!”
Chuuya yelled again, his face full of anger and disappointment.
“I told you that you should’ve ended the fight! I knew something like that would happen!”
The room fell silent apart from the yells of the red head.
His words intelligible as they devolved into a loud mix of French and English that no could make out properly.
Aoyama made small gasps whenever he could understand the French curses.
Momo squeezed her fists together as she darted over to the control panel, letting her voice be heard through the speakers.
“Stop! The fights over.”
The students in the battle centre looked around, obviously confused.
Bakugo looked as if he were going to speak up.
“Please don’t argue with me, just come up to the monitoring room, it’s a tie.”
She puts the comm down and looks back towards the now silent Chuuya and still on the floor All Might.
Dazai stared in honest shock at the sight.
When he hacked into the camera he thought this training session would be boring.
But seeing his dog slap the pro hero was a thrill he didn’t know he needed.
Hearing Chuuya swear in that strange jumble of languages to someone other than him was a treat, just made him even more glad that this camera had audio.
However he couldn’t stop the feeling of anger at that impulsive action.
Chuuya just assaulted the number one hero.
That wouldn’t be an issue that wouldn’t be ignored.
At best he got suspended.
At wort he got expelled.
That one action could gravely affect their mission.
This was one of many reasons he hated that slug, he doesn’t think before acting, especially when he’s angry.
He has had bruises to prove that and now so did All Might.
Chuuya may have just put this mission into jeopardy, this assault could really set them back in the hero department.
If his dog was expelled he would have to be punished for messing up this mission, and Dazai really didn’t want to do that.
His stunned expression twisted into annoyance as the green haired brat stumbled in, looking quite battered, a brunette girl helped him with walking.
Two others walked in afterwards.
He narrowed his eyes as he saw Chuuya dart up to Midorya, asking if he was alright, how hurt he was.
He looked genuinely concerned.
How lucky that brat was.
Midorya quickly gasped as he saw his hero slowly stand up, still clutching his throbbing cheek.
“It’s time for the next group to go up.”
The pro said, trying to sound more jovial than he mostly likely was.
It was Chuuya’s turn to be a villain, that should be easy for him.
Momo and Chuuya were sent in the site first.
He excepted her to comment on his behaviour a few moments ago.
“Where should be put the bomb?”
The black haired woman asks, looking at the large device.
She didn’t. He was grateful she didn’t speak about it.
Now Chuuya had to use his previous knowledge.
He was playing a villain, this should be easy for him, he is part of the mafia for Arahabaki’s sake
Narrow it down.
Figure out the flaws of each floor.
“The roof is not an option.”
He says after a moment.
Momo looks at him curiously.
“Asui has a frog quirk, she can stick to walls, if we put the bomb on the roof she’d have a clear way to get it, we would be at a disadvantage, there’s four sides to a building and two of us, we wouldn’t be able to catch her if she climbs up the side of a building neither of us are at, the roof also seems bare, therefore no obstacles to cause her struggle.”
He explained.
Momo looked a little stunned at the analysis but nodded.
“What about the other floors?”
“The first floor is also a bad idea, less time for us to prepare once the others are able to join us. And it would be quite dark, Tokoyami has a shadow quirk, that most likely means he’s stronger in the dark.”
Now Momo could probably create a light source but be didnt want her over use her quirk, that wasn’t needed since the other floors would be lighter.
“That nocks off the top and bottom floor, what about the fourth floor? It’s high up but we can’t be snuck up on, it would also be lighter so Tokoyami won’t be at full strength.”
She suggests.
“Yeah, the fourth floor could work.”
The duo moved the bomb to the fourth floor.
The room they were in was quite light, with four windows, one on each wall.
There were some tables and chairs scattered around, a few boxes also littered the floor.
There was one bulb of light in the centre of the ceiling.
“Since Asui can climb, she’s most likely going to come through a window.”
Chuuya says, walking over to one of the four windows, running a hand along the glass.
“Momo chan, can you make some lines of spikes and make them stick to the window?”
“Yes! We should also protect the light, if it gets broken Tokoyami will be a greater threat.”
She nods before walking over to the same window and inspecting it.
“Can you make a box of reinforced glass and some strong glue?”
The red head asks.
She nods again and pulls those items from her chest.
Chuuya took the objects he requested and darted over to the light source, he jumped up into the air, twisting his body and landing on the ceiling.
He crouched down and coated the bottom of the box with the glue and covered the light bulb with the see through box.
The light still came through properly.
The box should be hard to break, reinforced glass was a tough material.
Soon the windows were covered in spikes, from the outside it would be impossible to open or break without hurting yourself.
“I see where you got the spider motif from.”
Momo spoke up, dusting off her hands.
“It was Izuku’s idea, he mentioned the spider thing and I ran with it.”
He shrugs.
“How much time do you think we have until the others show up?”
She hums, crossing her arms.
“Probably not too long.”
“We should come up with a plan. And I think I have one.”
Chuuya says with a light smile.
Chuuya crouched above the door way, to the stairs, he was in the room just outside where the bomb was, Momo stayed with the device.
He had this gut feeling that the duo would come up courtesy of the stairs, he just had to wait and stay as quiet as possible while he listened for sound.
He and Momo came up with a plan they were both sure would work.
His part kept ringing through his mind.
“Apprehend Tokoyami and allow Asui to get through.”
He just has to wait for that bird to walk through the door.
The door creaked quietly as the frog girl stepped into view tentatively, peering around but never looking behind her.
Tokoyami followed suit, again not looking behind him, though why would they.
Not like they had a reason to look behind them.
He shifted his feet slightly before lunging forward, tackling the bird headed boy and pinning him to the floor.
He tightly gripped the other’s wrists behind his back and trapped his leg under his heeled boot.
Asui immediately spring into action, changing her posture into a battle stance, she readied her fists and was about to attack.
“Asui san! Keep going!”
Tokoyami yelled out, trying to free himself from Chuuya’s grip, only to fail.
Hesitantly the girl obliged, turning on her heel and rushing off into the next room.
“I hope you know you aren’t getting up.”
Chuuya said, his voice much more cold than he had intended.
“What makes you so confident?”
Tokoyami questions, once again trying to free his wrists.
The red glow of Chuuya’s ability surrounded both boys, the bird headed student gasped as his personal gravity increased majorly, making it impossible for him to move.
The sound of fighting came loudly from the other room as well as the sound of glass smashing.
Chuuya felt a little worried.
His worry increased once he heard Asui yelled.
“She’s down!”
He stood up, levelling gravity back to normal as he grabbed Tokoyami by the wrists and dragged him into the other room.
Momo was on the floor looking winded, Asui was running to the bomb.
He was not about to lose to these kids.
Without thinking he grabbed a shard of broken glass from the floor and put it up to the bird’s neck.
“Hey!”
He called out, causing the frog girl to stop immediately and look at them.
“Get on your knees and put your hands behind your head, say you surrender or else I slit his throat.”
He threatens.
“What!”
Tokoyami exclaims, his voice cracking as he once again tried to get away, but the shard was close to his neck, if he moves to much Chuuya wouldn’t be the one to slit his throat.
Asui held up her hands in surrender and dropped to her knees.
All it took was Chuuya slightly moving the shard of glass away from the bird headed student’s throat for her to extend her freakishly long tongue and smack the glass out of his hand.
Before she could get back up, her hands were bound by Momo.
“The villain team wins!”
All might yells through the speakers.
“Head on back up to the monitoring room.”
Just outside the monitoring room, Chuuya pulled Tokoyami to the side.
“I’m so sorry for threatening to slit your throat!”
He puts his hand behind his back and bows, showing sincerity.
“It’s alright, though it was quite terrifying.”
The bird scratches a non existent itch at the back of his neck.
“I panicked, I didn’t want to lose.”
“I understand, don’t worry about it, I’m certain you will have bigger problems to worry about.”
Chuuya winced at his words knowing instantly what he was referring to.
Though the karma he knew he was going to get didn’t come, not today.
The rest of the fights and remaining classes went smoothly and he was allowed to go home.
As soon as he lied down in his bed all the events of the day came rushing back to him, he felt a pit in his stomach as anxiety began to wash over him.
He fucked up.
He really fucked up.
The tone for his burner went off.
He mentally prepared himself for the torment he was going to receive.
“Would you like to explain to me what happened?”
Dazai said coldly.
Chuuya hated that tone.
“You already know… I don’t need to tell you.”
The red head grabs his arm, squeezing gently.
“You assaulted All Might. One of Japans most prominent figures, you slapped. You know you’ve probably messed up this mission-“
“I know I fucked it! I know I-“
Chuuya grinder his teeth together as the grip on his arm tightened.
“At least you’re aware of what could happen. I’ll speak to you later.”
And just like that the brunette hung up.
“Do NoT fReT mY dEvOtEe.”
Arahabaki’s voice rung out through his head suddenly.
“You tell me not to fret but what am I supposed to do?”
Chuuya hissed, not appreciating the Gods random appearance.
“DoN’t LeT iT gEt To YoU, yOu HaVe NoT bUtChUrEd YoUr MiSsIoN yEt.”
“Right.”
He mumbled not interested in speaking with the deity.
He would sleep this over and hope he could come up with a way to fix his mistake.
Notes:
I hope you lot enjoyed!
This is the longest chapter I’ve ever written.
It’s over 7k words and OMG it took a while to write.
Chapter Text
“You let a kid what?!”
Miruko snorted, unable to hold back a string of cackles.
She sat on a bench overlooking a small lake, the moon light reflecting off the waters surface, a ring of willow and Sakura trees grew around the pond, making the place look damn near mystical.
All Might stood beside her, no longer in his buff form, or whatever it was called, you wouldn’t even be able to tell it was the number one hero unless someone told you.
A prominent light red hand mark stained his pale face.
When the rabbit hero asked about it, a student slapping him was not the answer she was expecting.
She clutched her sides as more bursts of laughter escaped her throat.
“Miruko..”
All Might sighed, slumping into a spot next to the other hero, who was desperately trying to stop laughing.
“Sorry… oh I’m sorry.”
She says wiping a tear from her eye.
“But out of everything I was thinking, you getting slapped by a skinny teen was not even top ten! Oh I wish I was a fly on the wall for that. What did you even do that would call for that?”
All Might recounted the events earlier today.
Miruko listened intently a small smile on her face, that slowly faded the more he spoke.
She could understand why the kid would slap All Might.
Yeah it was a bit violent but technically it would be justified, she would probably do the same thing.
She didn’t comment on that but something did catch her attention.
“You said his name was Nakahara Chuuya right?”
She asks.
The number one hero nods.
The rabbit hero hums and looks to the floor.
“Wasn’t he the one who got first place during the entrance exams?”
He confirms with another nod.
The smile that had faded returned to her face.
“What are you thinking about?”
He asks, crossing his arms and eyeing her with a puzzled expression.
“He was really flexible wasn’t he, I’m pretty sure I heard someone mention him basically doing the splits while standing up, that’s quite impressive, especially for a boy.”
“Boys can be flexible.”
“I know I’m just saying, also he is quite young…”
She trails off.
A few things playing on her mind.
He REALLY didn’t want to head into school.
He just had to slap All Might, he couldn’t have just yelled at him.
He knew he was violent.
He knew everyone thought he was, they never said it openly but he always knew.
He didn’t know why he was like this.
Guess living in the streets and then becoming an enemy to the port mafia then being with the port mafia really fucked up his morals.
He didn’t want to be violent but he needed to be.
To survive and protect the people he cared about.
He fell into a seat on the train, he pulled one leg up to his chest and he leaned on it, wrapping his arms around the limb.
He was not feeling good about today.
“Hey man,”
Denki says as he sat next to his friend, looking down at him with slight concern.
“Are you alright?”
“I slapped All Might yesterday what do you think.”
Chuuya responded numbly, turning his head to look up at the taller.
“Fair- Fair enough.”
Denki said with a stutter.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“What’s there to talk about?”
The red head says softly, sounding as if he were about to cry even though no tears threatened to escape his eyes.
“Well uh…”
The electric haired boy started but got caught in his words, he rubbed the back of his head trying to find his lost words.
“Listen Denki,”
Chuuya spoke up, leaning back in his seat and crossing his arms.
“I appreciate you trying to comfort me but-“
“If you appreciate it let me!”
Denki interrupted, placing a hand on the red heads shoulder, giving him a defiant look.
Chuuya was honestly surprised by his sudden interruption.
“Wha-
“You said you appreciate me trying to comfort you. So let me comfort you! I know I’m not the best at that but at least let me try! Don’t shut me out when I can tell you’re upset!”
Chuuya didn’t respond to that.
He didn’t know how to respond to that.
He was genuinely stunned.
He didn’t think Denki could sound so stern.
“So talk to me.. what’s wrong.”
“Well for one I slapped All Might across the face.
“Yeah well apart from that…”
“I guess I’m just nervous about what’ll happen.”
The red head says quietly, his arms falling to his sides.
“I mean I’m probably going to get expelled.”
“Don’t say that!”
Denki says loudly, grabbing Chuuya’s hand and holding it tight.
The shorter’s eyes darted down for a quick second.
“They won’t expel you!
“Can you lower your voice and let go-“
“They can’t expel you! I’m sure once you explain what happened at most you’ll get a slap on the wrist.”
A comfortable silence fell over the two once Denki had finished his monologue.
“Thank you Denki kun, I needed that.”
Chuuya breaks the silence and smiles warmly at the taller.
“Any time.”
Denki smiles back.
They were just across the road to U.A when they saw hoards of reporters stood outside the gates of the school, trying to talk to the students as they walked by.
Guess word that All Might was a facility member now, spread like wild fire.
this was going to be fun.
“Brace for a storm I guess.”
Denki mumbled with a nervous smile before darting cross the road while there were no cars.
Chuuya hummed in agreement before following behind him.
“Are you one of All Mights students?”
“How are All Mights lessons?”
“What does he teach you.”
They were hounded by reporters.
Chuuya did his best to ignore them but the press were certainly persistent.
He saw Iida talking to a small group of reporters answering a question in full detail.
Fucking nerd.
Though he was distracting some of them.
“Hey!”
One of the press members stood in front of the two students, stopping them from entering school grounds.
“Could you excuse us please.”
Denki says politely, his eyes quickly falling to look at Chuuya for a quick moment.
“I just want to ask some questions.”
The reporter guy says, stepping a little closer, looking down at the kids expectantly.
Chuuya frowned as he looked up at the guy.
“We aren’t answering questions so please move.”
The red says, trying to sound respectful but he was getting agitated with this man.
“Listen short stack I just want to know what-“
“What did you just call me!”
Chuuya clenched his fists together at the comment, his eyes widening in anger.
“We should go now, sorry sir but-“
Denki interrupted, grabbing the shorter’s hand, forcing it out of a fist and he skirted around the reporter, dragging Chuuya off with him.
They slowed down half way up the school’s courtyard.
The taller let go off the others hand, looking down at him.
“Are you alright? You looked like you were about to punch the guy.”
Denki rubbed the back of his head as he talked.
Chuuya’s body relaxes, his other fist opened as he looks at the floor.
He stayed quiet, unable to find the words.
“Chuuya-“
“I hope you know… I’m.. not a violent person.”
The red head mumbles, crossing his arms.
“I don’t know why I’m like this.”
He continues, speaking quieter.
That was a lie, he knew why he was like this.
But he had no other choice.
“Not a violent person?”
A feminine voice suddenly speaks up to the side of him, startling Denki way more than Chuuya.
He turned his head to the side and saw Asui walking beside him.
“I recall you threatening to slit Tokoyami’s throat.”
The red head winced at her words not wanting to be reminded of that.
“That’s what happened.”
Denki frowned, looking between the two other students, his voice unnaturally high.
“Yes. Listen I already apologised to Tokoyami, I can’t do much else.”
Chuuya crossed his arms and looked down at the floor.
“As long as you apologised.”
Asui shrugged before walking off.
There was silence between the two boys for a moment.
“You threatened to slit Tokoyami’s throat open?”
Denki looked down at Chuuya.
“I panicked, I wasn’t thinking straight.”
The red head sighed, looking up at the other.
“At least you apologised.”
The electric haired boy mumbled, patting Chuuya on the head.
Chuuya just frowned and got so many flashbacks to the dog nickname Dazai gave him.
“Don’t do that.”
“Sorry.”
“Alright Brats,”
Aizawa grumbles getting up from ugly sleeping bag, his eyes falling over all the students.
“We’ve got a lot to get through so shut up and listen, I’ll start with something that’s actually important.”
His eyes land on Chuuya who shrinks under his dull gaze.
“Principal Nezu needs you, I think we all know why, so go head down.”
The red head slowly rises from his seat and walks out through the door, his heart and mind racing.
He knew absolutely nothing about the principal and depending on their personality, his punishment would be different.
He stood outside the principal’s door, hesitating before pushing open the door, peering inside.
He had to stop his face from twisting in disgust as he saw a literal rat sitting at the desk.
The rat was the principal.
Their name should’ve been a give away but this did not feel real.
“Ah Nakahara San, please come in, take a seat.”
The rat smiles, making a small gesture for him to sit.
As he was told, Chuuya sat down in front of the principal.
“You know why you’re here don’t you?”
The red head just nodded, feigning discomfort.
“Good well I hope you know that, that behaviour isn’t something we promote at this school,”
Nezu sighed before continuing.
“Now I have to go over a few things with you. First I have two reason as to why I should expel you.”
He said more sternly, intertwining his pawed fingers and leaning his elbows on the desk.
Chuuya tensed up, feeling sweat roll down his face.
“One reason is that you slapped All Might, your teacher and the number one hero. We can’t take the assault of our teachers or our heroes lightly. The other reason is that you threatened to slit one of your classmates throat.”
The rat’s gaze hardened the more he spoke.
Chuuya clenched his fists together and tried to keep him composure, his eyes falling to the floor.
“With those actions alone I have every right to kick you out of my school. However.”
He looked back up to Nezu with a puzzled look, was he not going to be expelled?
“Yesterday All Might came to me after school, he told me you were justified in your violent act, he doesn’t want you expelled because of something he was at fault for. And I also called Tokoyami into my office yesterday and he holds no grudges against you, he also doesn’t want you expelled for an action you committed seemingly on impulse, so I won’t expel you, but you will be suspended for the rest of this week and the first three days of next week.”
Chuuya dipped his head in respect, forcing some tears to bead at the corners of his eyes
“I appreciate this sir.”
He said with a shaky tone, going to stand up.
“Before you go.”
Nezu speaks up, the student sat back down.
“There’s something else I want to discuss with you. Something about your home life.”
His home life?
He didn’t even have a home life.
What could this rat possibly have to say about a non existent home life?
“Yesterday, I spoke to a few of your classmates, and some of them had a few things to say,”
The principal began.
Chuuya’s fake uncomfortable look soon became a real one the more he realised where this was going.
“I’m not going to say names but, some do your classmates mentioned seeing scars on your body and bandages around your chest.”
The red head tensed even more, shrinking down into himself, he could feel his heart jerk forward at the mentions of his hidden wounds and binder
“I don’t want to suggest anything, however, in addition to the scars I heard that it was nearly instinctual how you grabbed that broken glass, it’s concerning, like I said I don’t want to assume but-“
“You think I’m being abused.”
Chuuya crossed his arms, holding himself tightly as his eyes narrowed at the rat, who looked away for a quick moment.
“Listen, Nakahara San, as long as you attend here it’s my and your teachers job to make sure you are safe, if something is going on at home, I hope you know you can talk to us about anything.”
Make sure he’s safe.
How ironic considering the few times he and other children have been put in danger at this school and no one did anything about it.
“Something is going on, your immediate reaction to draw a sharp object on your classmate is very telling.”
God how long could this rat talk?
Chuuya honestly just wanted to leave at this point.
How could he speed this up?
He blinked and felt water at his lashes.
There was an idea.
He bit the corner of his lip hard, forcing tears to roll down his face as he sniffed.
“Nakahara?”
“I-I’m sorry!”
The boy sobbed in a shaky voice, rubbing water from one of his eyes just for it to quickly return.
“I’m sorry for making everyone worry! I- I’m sorry I’ve hurt people! I’ve just been having a rough few days! I’ve had to live alone-!”
He sucked in a shaky gasp to say more but no words came out.
His vision started to blur as he lied through his teeth.
Nezu had a stunned look on his face, clearly not expecting this.
“I just want to go home!”
He managed to chock out, hating the feeling of tears forcing their way out of his eyes, but he needed to sell it.
The rat stayed quiet, letting the student cry, waiting for him to calm down before speaking up.
“I won’t hold you here any longer then, go get your stuff and head home.”
He says softly.
Chuuya just nodded, sniffling as he stood up.
He wiped his eyes and walked out of the room, his demeanour changing as soon as he was out of sight.
He kept his face wet just to get some pity points from his class but while he was in the hallway he just held a dull expression.
The cameras weren’t on, he could tell that they weren’t active, there was no need to keep up an act.
“WhAt A pReFoRmAnCe, YoU dEsErVe A sTaNdInG oVaTiOn.”
Arahabki’s distorted voice rang out through his head, Chuuya couldn’t tell whether it was being sarcastic or not, but he didn’t mind the praise.
“Why are you so talkative lately?”
He asks though he got no answer, he didn’t expect one.
Chuuya pushed open the door to his classroom and quietly slipped inside, his head hung low and hair fell over his right eye as he hid his face.
His demeanour changing once more.
His classmates seemed distracted with talking to each other, he might be able to slip in and out.
He walked over to his seat and grabbed his bag, slinging it over his shoulder.
He heard some whispering before footsteps approached him.
Guess he couldn’t slip out.
“Hey Chuuya Kun,”
He looked up, Denki leaned over the desk, looking worried, Izuku skipped over matching the electric haired boys expression.
“What happened?”
The green haired kid asks.
chuuya sucks in a breath, wiping a tear stained eye.
“O-oh, nothing, don’t worry-“
“Were you expelled?”
Denki calls out, surprisingly loud, causing some other students to turn their heads.
“Denki!”
Izuku gently hit the other in the side, getting no reaction from him.
“If you were expelled I-“
“Denki kun I wasn’t expelled,”
Chuuya says, calmly patting Denki on the shoulder to comfort him.
The taller boys just sighed in relief.
“Then why the long face?”
Denki smiles brightly, he was obviously trying to cheer the shorter up.
He moved round the desk and wrapped an arm around Chuuya, leaning down slightly to meet him eye to eye.
“We have things to talk about.”
“What things? Like how you thought a religious text was new just because it mentioned a drill?”
The red head sneered, enjoying the slightly irritated look on the electric haired boy’s face.
“I told you that in confidence.”
Denki frowned.
Izuku looked a little confused but didn’t speak up.
Chuuya gently pushes Denki away.
“I can’t stay, I wasn’t expelled but I was suspended.”
“For how long?”
Izuku asks, looking hurt once more.
“Till next Thursday.”
The shorter answers, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Next Thursday!”
Denki gasped loudly.
“What’s going on next Thursday?”
A pink girl, Mina, Chuuya was pretty sure her name was, bounded up beside them, giving a pitiful look to the red head before sorting out her expression and smiling brightly.
“My suspension ends.”
Chuuya answers.
She looked a little surprised, probably due to the fact that that was his punishment and not something a hell of a lot worse, she nodded, placing a hand on her hip.
“Well it could be a lot worse.”
She says with a forced giggle.
The red head just nods with a light smile, taking a small step back.
“I should head out, I’ll see you guys later.”
He says, giving a small wave before quickly walking out of the class, three “goodbyes” followed him out.
The near silent train ride was pleasant, it was nice to have some quiet.
He got a few stares, it was obvious people thought he was skipping school or something.
Chuuya did his best to ignore all the eyes, though it was difficult to do so.
When he got to his room he didn’t bother changing before falling face first into his bed, his legs dangling off the mattress, his upper body rested on the bed while his legs sat on the wooden floor.
He stayed like that for a good few minutes, just listening to the sound of his own breathing.
He had to force his had back up when he heard his burner phone begin to ring.
He groaned, standing up and grabbing the burner, he answered and put it to his ear, falling back on his bed.
“What the fuck do you want?”
“Oh is that anyway to talk to me?”
Dazai huffs, forcing an annoyed tone though he failed to hold back some laughter
Chuuya stayed quiet, waiting for an answer.
The brunette understood what the other wanted, he sighed before continuing to speak.
“I was curious about your punishment, you weren’t expelled I know that much, so… suspension?”
“You already know I was suspended don’t play dumb mackerel.”
Chuuya rolls his eyes, his voice was already filled with disinterest.
“Well the cameras in the principals office weren’t working so I couldn’t really know.”
Dazai says quite absentmindedly.
“Oh of course… hang on have you been hacking into the cameras?”
The red head asks, his tone growing in volume.
He was ignored.
“Since we didn’t hang out yesterday, why don’t we hang out today? You’ve got time.”
The brunette dodges the question and offers something else.
Chuuya thought about prying more but that would be pointless, he just groans and rubs the bridge of his nose.
“Fine. Sure, we can hang out.”
He says exasperatedly.
“Great! I’ll swing by your apartment in what ten minutes?”
Dazai says with an audible smile.
“How do you even know where I live.”
The red head asks.
He meant to ask ages ago but it completely slipped his mind.
He never told Dazai where he lived and it was concerning how he figured it out within what a week? Two weeks?
“I’ll see you in ten!”
Dazai again dodges the question and hangs up.
Chuuya groans again, tossing the phone to the side as he forces himself to sit up.
He swung his legs back and forth for a moment before standing up.
He walked over to his wardrobe and picked out an outfit, he tossed that onto his bed, inspecting how it would look together before changing into it.
He wore a red, long sleeved shirt with flailed cuffs and a frill around the neckline, the shirt fell off his right shoulder, he also wore black cargo pants with a chain belt that dropped past his upper thigh before curving back up to the waistline.
Along with his hat, begrudgingly the collar and his gloves, he was basically ready to head out.
He emptied out his bag just keeping the keys and his phone, not the burner, he slung it over his shoulder before leaving his apartment room locking the door behind him.
He found Dazai out side the building, tapping his foot impatiently as he looked down at his phone.
It didn’t look like he had changed from the last time Chuuya had seen him.
“Oi, Dazai.”
Chuuya calls out to get the other attention.
He took note of the way his one visible eye gained a light shine to it once he looked up and how his eye slightly widened and the way he stared a little too long.
“You look awful slug.”
Dazai says after a moment, blinking a few times his eye going back to being dull.
He pocketed his phone and took a step closer.
Chuuya recoiled and his nose scrunched up, he tilted his head back trying not to gag.
“You smell like shit, when was the last time you showered?”
The red head covered his nose.
Dazai genuinely looked insulted at the comment.
“Hey! I don’t smell that bad!”
He said quite loudly before sniffing himself.
“No you smell really bad, we gotta fix that.”
Chuuya rolls his eyes, speaking quite quickly, he was not going to hang out with this mackerel while he smells like dog shit.
“Oh yeah? You are you gonna fix that? Dose me in perfume?”
The brunette snorts, obviously being sarcastic, a wide smile plastered on his face.
Chuuya grinned, his eyes narrowing.
Dazai’s face dropped as he realised that the other took his suggestion seriously.
“No… I wasn’t being serious! I don’t want to wear perfume!”
His protests were ignored as the red head grabbed his wrist quite harshly and began to drag him away.
“You wanted to hang out so… let’s go to the mall!”
Chuuya sped up his pace, Dazai spat out disagreements and tried desperately to free his wrist but was unable to.
When they made it to the mall Chuuya was positive he had some light bruises on his arm from where Dazai had started to hit him.
The red head let go of the other’s wrist and rubbed his own arm, there were definitely bruises.
He began walking into the mall, looking back every so often to make sure Dazai was following him.
Now what shops would sell perfume…
Oh probably the one called the perfume store, just maybe.
He grabbed Dazai’s wrist again and sped walked over to the shop, once inside he let go and his eyes wondered over the different bottles of perfume.
He took one of the bottles from the shelf, the liquid inside was an off white, he didn’t bother reading the label.
He tugged his sleeve down and sprayed perfume onto his wrist, he inhaled the scent and vanilla filled his nose.
He held his hand up to Dazai waiting for him to smell it.
The brunette leaned down and sniffed.
He recoiled instantly and coughed a few times, blinking rapidly.
Chuuya couldn’t help but snort at his reaction.
“Don’t like it?”
Dazai shook his head.
“It smells fine it’s just really strong.”
He huffs, crossing his arms and lifting his head up in a snobby manner.
“Course.”
The red head scoffs and passes the taller the bottle.
“Hold this, I want to find one.”
Chuuya takes a few steps to the side, taking another bottle from the shelf, once again he sprayed some on his wrist and smelled the perfume.
OoO cherry, yeah he’ll take it.
“I hope you brought money because I’m not paying.”
He teases.
“Hey! I’m not paying for perfume!”
He payed and they both left the store.
Chuuya dragged Dazai off to the side, making him stand with his arms out.
He held the perfume bottle out and sprayed all over the brunette, purposefully spraying some in his face just to make his cough up his guts.
The smell of vanilla was damn near overwhelming but it covered Dazai’s rank ass scent very well.
Chuuya covered himself with the cherry perfume, a lot less than Dazai but he didn’t need that much, he didn’t smell like he had been dragged through rubbish.
Chuuya could not hold back a howl of laughter when Dazai doubled over with painful sounding coughs and sneezes, one hand on the wall, the other clutching his stomach.
The two ended up outside, sitting on a bench near by the mall.
The fresh air cleared up the suffocating smell of vanilla.
Dazai was able to take breaths without coughing and he actually smelled decently good.
The silence between them was awkward though.
“You wanna hear something funny?”
Chuuya asks, tilting his head closer to Dazai so the people walking around them wouldn’t hear their conversation.
“Like you can be funny.”
The brunette scoffs, crossing his arms.
The red head rolled his eyes.
Yeah whatever he was gonna say his story anyway.
“Earlier when the principal was talking to me, he mentioned my scars, some of my classmates told him about that and paired with the fact that I threatened Tokoyami, the bird headed kid, he thought, I was being abused.”
Chuuya said, enjoying the now amused look on Dazai’s face.
“He thought you were being abused?”
The taller said, trying to keep his voice down but it was very clear he wanted to be loud about it.
“What did you say about that?”
“Well I kinda played into it,”
Chuuya shrugged with a faint laugh.
“I really shouldn’t have but, like he would believe me if I said I wasn’t.”
“Well, I guess it’s nice to know the school at least kind of care about their students.”
Dazai chuckles, though his face dropped once he had finished his sentence.
Chuuya frowned at his expression, curious about what he was thinking about.
“They’re going to keep a closer eye on you. This could be comprising”.
Dazai’s voice grew deeper as he became more serious.
Chuuya nodded along as he spoke, understanding the situation he had put himself in.
It’s not like he could’ve hidden the scars, maybe he could’ve but who would’ve expected to doing physical tests on the first day.
Not like he had makeup to cover the scars anyway, his makeshift binder would’ve also been a giveaway for abuse allegations, no matter he did he’d probably end up in the same situation.
“We shouldn’t talk about this in public.”
Dazai’s voice brings Chuuya back to reality, he nods, risking anyone hearing this would be awful.
“Anyways, we’ve got all day to discuss that.”
The brunette speaks up a little louder and more enthusiastic, he jumps to his feet and offers the red head a hand.
Chuuya took his hand and was pulled to his feet.
Dazai quickly turned in his heal and jogged off, dragging Chuuya along with him.
“Come on I want to explore!”
“Oi!”
Why was it so easy for people to drag him around? He was not that light was he?
When they reached a more open space seemingly in the centre of the open town, they skidded to a stop, Dazai turned to Chuuya, grabbing both his hands and pulling him forward as he took a long step back.
“Since you got a grand tour, why not pass that on hmm?”
Dazai smiles widely and looks down at Chuuya expectantly.
“Alright then but that just means you’ll have to listen to me mackerel.”
The red head grinned, looking up at the brunette.
“Ugghhh fine.”
Dazai huffs with a pout.
A snicker forced its way out of Chuuya’s lips as he pulled his hands from the other’s grip.
“Come on, there’s a few places I wanted to visit, I never went in any buildings on my tour so it’ll be a new experience for both of us.”
The red head shrugged.
“Lead the way puppy.”
Dazai teases, frowning when the only response he got was Chuuya turning to walk away.
“My memory isn’t perfect so-“
The red head began but he cut himself off by a squeak as a pain sparked through his abdomen.
He paused his pace and clutched his stomach with a hand.
“What?”
The brunette skips up beside him, looking down with a puzzled look on his face.
“Something happen?”
“No..”
The shorter straightens up and forces the mild pain down.
“No. It’s nothing just come on.”
Dazai got a tour and Chuuya managed to forget about his interaction with the ratty principal.
A win win situation.
The duo had a pretty good time, they explored the shops lining the streets, they never brought anything, Dazai wanted to be a cheapskate and not pay for anything.
Though he did pay for food when they got lunch.
Soon the sun had started setting, it didn’t even feel like they had been out for hours.
As they walked back to Chuuya’s apartment, he was sure he felt something run down his leg and that made his anxiety flair.
He tried to keep a cool head but he desperately wanted to get home.
He elbowed Dazai in the side and darted ahead.
“Race ya’!”
He calls out, he heard the brunette laugh before he began chasing after him.
They were gasping for air when they reached the apartment building’s door.
“You… cheater!”
Dazai huffed while breathing heavily.
“Pfft.. you’re just a sore loser.”
Chuuya laughed faintly.
“You had… had a head start slug!”
“Fuckin’ shove iiiiiiiiiit.”
The red head held up his middle finger and shook his hand
“How rude!”
Dazai gasped dramatically as he placed a hand to his chest.
“I’ll be leaving now, you bad dog.”
“Dude just stay the night.”
Chuuya rolls his eyes, standing up straight and pushing the door open.
The brunette hummed but quickly accepted the offer.
Dazai shoved his way past Chuuya and flopped onto the sofa, sighing quite loudly as half his body rested on the floor.
The red head locked the door behind him and tossed his bag onto the floor.
He walked up to the taller and crossed his arms.
“Get up Mackerel you’re helping with dinner.”
“But I can’t cook Chuuuyaaaa.”
He whined, falling completely on the floor.
“Just boil the water at least, I’ll do everything else since you can’t do shit apparently.”
Chuuya sighs, beginning to walk to his bedroom.
“Where are you going?”
“Relax, I’m just grabbing clothes, I’m gonna trust you to do what I asked while I take a shower alright.”
“Fine.”
Chuuya’s anxiety was warranted.
When he shook off his cargo pants, he saw blood dripping down his thighs.
The cramps in his abdomen made him feel even worse.
He was having a decent couple of weeks, the thought of his period showing up had completely slipped his mind.
The day was just getting worse and worse.
He sucked in a gasp as pain shot through his stomach.
He whined and his head fell forward, he could feel tears form at the corners of his eyes.
He pushed through the pain and fully undressed before climbing into the shower.
Once he felt clean he dried himself and shoved on his night wear, he couldn’t be bothered to re bind his chest, his shirt was oversized anyway no one would be able to tell.
He had to use toilet paper as a makeshift pad since he forgot to bring some.
One he stood, a sudden warmth washed over him.
He had felt this before but it was always after he had recovered from using corruption.
He had asked the deity about it but never got a response so he stopped trying.
He stood still for a moment, letting that heat cool down before walking out of the bathroom, he’d clean up his discarded clothes in the morning.
As soon as he left the bathroom the undeniable scent of smoke filled his nose.
His anxiety only rose as he walked over to the open kitchen, seeing Dazai standing over a pot.
“Hey Chuuya… I burnt the water.”
He says, taking a step away from the pot which was literally on fire.
The red head paused immediately and stood with his mouth agape.
“Dazai how the fuck did you burn the water?”
“I don’t know! I left the water boiling for a few minutes then it just caught on fire!”
He sounded genuinely confused on how that shit happened.
Chuuya stood stunned, just staring at the fire.
Of course if anyone could fuck up boilibg water it would be Dazai.
“ThAtS… iMpOsSiBlE.”
Arahabaki’s voice rung out through his mind, also absolutely shocked at the situation.
“It Is ImPoSsIbLe… IsN’t It?”
Chuuya nodded, hoping that the deity could see the gesture.
He lifted a hand to his mouth.
“Only you could stun the God of chaos.”
He says quite numbly.
“I’ll check that off of my bucket list.”
Dazai, gives an awkward smile, clicking his fingers into finger guns.
“Get out of my kitchen.”
Chuuya basically commands, quickly grabbing his phone from his bag and walking into the kitchen.
Dazai simply nodded and darted away.
He quickly snapped a picture of the flaming pot.
Gonna send that to his friends later.
Now how do you put this out?
It took around half an hour but food was ready, simple egg and ham noodles.
It wasn’t perfect but Chuuya was not in the mood to cook.
Two empty bowls were tossed onto the small, round table soon after.
The red head leaned back, legs clutched close to his chest as he leaned on them.
He took slow breaths, try to ease the pain but that didn’t do much, he did his best to ignore it.
“Chuuya.”
Dazai suddenly spoke up, his voice unusually serious, honestly surprising the shorter a bit, he wasn’t used to that tone being used on him, others sure he had heard it countless times, but he never liked it when it was directed towards him.
“We need to talk.”
Chuuya had a feeling he already knew what this conversation was going to be.
“Now that you’ve put yourself on the schools raider, they’re going to monitor you a lot more,”
The red head stayed quiet as he continued.
“This mission isn’t going to be as simple considering that fact, I’m sure we can sort this out but it won’t be easy.”
“Yeah, I get that,”
Chuuya speaks up, nodding and taking a deep yet shaky breath before continuing.
“When I get back to school I’ll see what I can do to get them to stop worrying about me.”
“Are you alright? You’ve gone pretty pale.”
The brunette asks, sitting up straight.
The red head stayed quiet for a little longer, he noticed his breathing was also slightly laboured.
“I’m fine, I’m just gonna go to bed.”
He puts his legs down, going to stand up, he wanted to immediately scrunch his legs back up to his stomach, that actually helped a little bit.
“Why don’t you stay with me?”
Dazai asks, a foreign look of worry in his eye.
Chuuya hummed, raising an eyebrow.
“Sleep on the sofa, it can be like a sleep over.”
His voice and expression changed, looking and sounding more enthusiastic, also slightly desperate.
“Fine.”
Chuuya sighed, Dazai’s eye gleamed with excitement at that.
“Yay! Come here puppy!”
The brunette beamed, holding out his arms in an attempt to coheres the shorter into a hug or some sort of cuddle.
“Absolutely not,”
Chuuya rolled his eyes, smirking before covering his nose.
“That perfume is wearing off.”
“Hey!”

Chapter Text
Chuuya woke up before Dazai did.
He found the energy to go clean up the bathroom and quickly sort himself out.
The cramps were still painful but more manageable than yesterday.
He just needed to distract himself.
Figured a good way to do that would be making breakfast.
It was early in the morning, he had checked his phone to see what time it was, barely 9:am.
He saw a few text messages on the screen, from classmates, he assumed, he never got their numbers though.
He let the bacon simmer on the pan as he investigated this.
He opens the main chat that most people seemed to be chatting in.
He typed a “hello?” And responses were immediate.
Spark plug: CHUUUYYYYAAAA your alive :D
Manly:I heard about the suspension I hope you’re alright man
Who the hell was “manly”?
Chuuya guessed spark plug was Denki considering his quirk was electricity, but who was manly?
I’m fine who are you by the way?
He typed back before flipping the bacon making sure it doesn’t burn.
Enough things have burned in this apartment already.
Manly:It’s Kirishima!
Okay that makes sense, Chuuya could remember times where he heard him said manly.
[you: I’m fine who are you by the way?]
|
>Alien Queen:Riiight you probably weren’t looking when we gave each other nicknames :0
He assumed that was Mina, she did kind of look like an alien, he just never wanted to say it to her face.
Fast and furious:I think these names are highly inappropriate.
Iida probably, fast and furious fits him perfectly.
Hang on was that a reference?
Mini Might:I think these names are cool.
[you: I’m fine who are you by the way?]
|
>Mini Might: I’m glad you’re alright.
Spark plug:yea me to I wanted to surprise visit you but I don’t know where you live :{
Chuuya couldn’t help but smile, his friends were worried about him.
Though he was glad Denki didn’t know where he lived, he did not want to have to introduce him to Dazai.
Speaking of Dazai.
Chuuya hummed with a quiet laughter.
I appreciate that but I do have a friend over so it was probably best that didn’t happen
Spark plug:You have a friend!!!
Don’t say it like that!!!
Chuuya actually let out a huff of offence at that comment.
He plated the bacon onto two plates.
Spark plug:sorry :(
It’s fine. Hang on aren’t you guys supposed to be in class?
Manly: I mean yeah we are but Aizawa sansei is asleep so we can do whatever.
Alien queen:Plus iida’s already lectured us like five times already.
Okay anyway do you guys want to hear a funny story
Alien queen:YEAH
Spark plug:Yes please :D
Fast and furious:is it appropriate?
Sure
Fast and furious:Go ahead then Nakahara
Chuuya doesn’t exactly need his permission but alright.
So I said I have a friend over and I asked him to do one thing, boil some water while I take a quick shower.
[attachment image: a pot of water that was on fire]
The bitch burnt the water.
Alien queen:HUH
Spark plug:No way is that real??????
Manly:I think you broke Iida he’s just sitting there with his mouth wide open.
Mini Might:does his quirk have to do with that?
No not at all
He went to go type out what Dazai’s ability is but he paused and stopped, should he tell them?
Probably not, he won’t mention it.
Mini might: then how did that happen?
I literally could not tell you
I need to finish making breakfast so I won’t be responding I’ll talk to you guys later
He turned his phone off before anymore text to appear.
He flopped down on the sofa, two plates with bacon and eggs rested on the small coffee table.
Dazai was still somehow asleep, but his eye was twitching, so was his nose, kinda like a cat.
If it wasn’t Dazai, Chuuya would say it was cute but since it is Dazai, it’s weird.
The brunette yawned, sitting up onto his knees, he quickly turned his attention to the plates of food near by.
“Aww slug! Did you make breakfast? How sweet!”
He gasped dramatically, putting a hand to his cheek and leaning into it.
“To sweet, did you poison it?”
He asks, still sounding enthusiastic though.
Chuuya rolled his eyes, leaning over and grabbing the plate closer to the mackerel, he didn’t bother picking up utensils he just picked up a piece of bacon and took a bite out of it.
He made a point to obnoxiously swallow it.
Dazai blinked slowly a few times.
“That doesn’t mean the other plate is safe-“
“Just eat the fucking food.”
An unexpected silence fell over the duo as they finished their food.
They were sprawled out over the couch, Dazai’s foot lightly pressing into Chuuya’s side.
Boredom filled the air as they both stayed quiet.
The brunette let out a loud and obnoxious groan, kicking the red head a little harder.
“What?”
Chuuya hissed, slapping Dazai’s leg.
“I didn’t say anything.”
The taller said, another light kick to the shorter’s side.
“Stop kicking me!”
“I’m not doing anything.”
Another light kick.
“Stop-“
Chuuya went to complain again but was cut off by a burst of pain coming from his abdomen as another kick came from Dazai.
“Fuck!”
He whined, instinctively leaning down to clutch his stomach.
Dazai retracted his leg and gave a seemingly genuine concerned look, before replacing it with a blank stare.
“I wasn’t kicking that hard.”
“It’s not you dumbass it’s-“
Chuuya, sucked in a breath through gritted teeth.
“What? What don’t I know about my dog?”
Dazai sits up, crossing his arms and tilting his head slightly.
“Nothing, don’t worry about it.”
The red head says sternly, going to stand up, he wanted to walk away but was stopped by the brunette, who was now lying on his stomach, grabbing his wrist.
“If somethings wrong with my pet I’d like to know.”
He says, matching Chuuya’s tone, his face now more serious.
Chuuya tugged his hand free and huffed, taking a sharp inhale.
“I’m fine.”
“You clearly aren’t.”
Dazai, sat back up, rising to his feet to stand in front of the shorter, looking down at him.
“I know somethings up, yesterday I could tell you weren’t right, and now that’s just confirmed my suspicions.”
“You noticed something and you said nothing? Says how much you care.”
Chuuya hissed, going to step around the other but he moved back in the way.
The red heads breath hitched as he felt a liquid roll down his thigh.
Fuck he forgot to replace that diy pad.
“If you’re hurt I’d like to know.”
Dazai continued to push, crossing his arms once more.
“Move.”
Was all Chuuya could spit out.
“Tell me what’s wrong first.”
“Move damn it!”
Chuuya lifted his hands and shoved Dazai forcefully back.
The brunette slipped on the floor and fell, landing hard on the tile.
The red head darted by, going into the bathroom and slamming the door behind him.
“Chuuya!”
Dazai called out.
Met by silence he sighed, not bothering to get up.
It was silent for a few minutes, the only sound echoing through the apartment was the sound of running water from the shower.
Dazai had shifted over to the bathroom door, lifting his knees to his chest, leaning on them as he tried to hear if Chuuya was speaking, though it was quiet, just water.
Was he worried?
Slightly, his dog was hurt or something, it actually pissed him off that Chuuya wouldn’t tell him.
Chuuya was his dog why wouldn’t he just listen?
That’s what dogs do, they listen to their master!
He was just being difficult.
It was actually infuriating.
The sound of water stopped and Dazai heard some footsteps coming from inside the bathroom.
He heard a pained whine as well, only amplifying his irritation and worry.
“Dazai,”
Chuuya’s voice rung out after a moment.
The brunette hummed in response.
“Could you… in my wardrobe there’s some black sweatpants… can you get them for me… please.”
That please was loose on his lips, though that whole sentence seemed painful to say.
Asking for help, something really was wrong.
“I’ll be back in a minute slug.”
Dazai says, standing up and slowly walking to the bedroom.
He came back a minute or so later, holding the clothing piece.
“Chuuya.”
He knocked on the bathroom door, it opened slightly a second later, only Chuuya’s hand came through the door, gesturing for Dazai to give him the sweatpants.
Once he did the door shut again.
Dazai let out a near silent whine before waking away, going to flop onto the sofa.
The door opened again, Chuuya stepped out, holding some grey shorts which looked to be stained with blood.
Dazai quickly stood up and followed Chuuya to the kitchen, curiously looking at the bloody shorts.
“Chuuya-“
“I’m fine, it’s nothing.”
“If it’s nothing just tell me.”
Chuuya huffed with annoyance and slight exhaustion.
He tossed the clothing article into the counter and turned to face Dazai.
“You’re smart, figure it out.”
He waved his hand dismissively.
Of course he wouldn’t just say it, that would be too easy.
Dazai had to think back, he did remember seeing him clean out bloody pants and stuff before but he never thought anything of it
Also he did recall seeing Chuuya clutching his stomach a few times in the past, again he didn’t think much of it, thought it was a stomach bug so he always just avoided Chuuya when that happened.
He had nothing, he thought for like five minutes and had no idea.
“Puppy can you just tell me.”
“I thought you were smart.”
Chuuya rolled his eyes.
“Hey! I am smart, just tell me!”
“God you are-“
The red head interrupted himself with a sharp inhale.
“I’m trans Dazai, I’m on my period.”
…
“Oh.”
That wasn’t what he was expecting.
Not even close.
“Oh? That’s all you have to say?”
Chuuya snaps, crossing his arms and digging his nails into his arm.
“What do you want me to say!”
Dazai, snaps back.
“I don’t know, but something other than oh!”
“Well thanks for telling me, though I would’ve liked to know, cause now I feel very slightly bad about avoiding you, I thought you had a stomach bug-“
“Is that why you fucked off so many times and refused to do missions with me!”
“I thought you were sick, I didn’t want to catch it!”
“You absolutely moron!”
“What was I supposed to think! I didn’t know you were trans!”
Once the bickering had come to an end, they both found themselves back on the sofa.
Dazai had discreetly pulled Chuuya into his shoulder and shockingly, the red head didn’t fight back about it, nor about the bandaged hand just above his waist, he looked to tired and was about to pass back out.
And soon he did, his head falling into crook of Dazai’s neck.
The brunette hummed and carefully grabbed hold of Chuuya’s phone, going to the camera and taking a picture of the red head leaning on Dazai’s shoulder.
God be wished he brought a marker.
It took a few minutes but he figured out how to make that picture the Lock and Home Screen.
Now he was going to put the phone away, be a good owner and not snoop, but when the phone doesn’t have a password, it’s too tempting.
He didn’t even mean to unlock it but since he did, curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back, after all.
Text messages were the first thing he looked at.
It was honestly surprising how correct everything was spelt.
Auto correct was saving his life right now.
Dazai grabbed his own phone and took pictures of the different conversations on the device, these would be interesting to have, he could get a good grasp on some of his dog’s classmates personalities.
He turned both phones off and rested his cheek on top of Chuuya’s head, allowing himself to fall back asleep.
It was the weekend now.
Chuuya couldn’t figure out how to change his background picture on the phone screen so he just gave up and left it.
He and a few others had plans to go and hangout, he was the first to make it to the mall, they wanted to meet there.
He sat on a bench just outside the large building, against the wall, looking at his phone while he waited.
He got a few stares as his outfit didn’t really cover any scars.
He had a black sleeveless turtle neck shirt on with some cargo shorts in a lighter shade.
Along with his gloves and fedora but that’s obvious, he always has those on.
He didn’t have to wait much longer as he saw his friends walking up to him.
Well he heard them before he saw them.
“Chuuya kun!”
Denki was the first one to greet him.
He fell beside him, flopping down onto the bench.
He didn’t seem too bothered by the scars littering his arms and legs.
Neither did Izuku when he came up to them, but he did look a little less unbothered.
Mina and momo joined them a few minutes later.
They were the most bothered by the healed and mostly healed scars.
It was obvious they wanted to say something, but it was also clear they didn’t want to do it to Chuuya’s face.
“You guys ready to go.”
Mina speaks up first, fixing his expression to be more excited.
Everyone except Chuuya and Mina spoke over each other with a loud yes.
The red gave a nod and a thumbs up.
The group found themselves at a cafe on the edge of town, how they wound up there, no one could really tell you, when you get really into a conversation weird things happen.
They got drinks and some pastries and kept that conversation going.
Momo created a pack of cards cause the conversation had started to drift towards that for some reason.
“Anyone know any games to play?”
She asks, looking around the table.
“Oh I know one!”
Chuuya says enthusiastically, gesturing for her to give him the cards.
She did, he took them out of the pack and began to shuffle them, he wasn’t great at shuffling but he knew how to do a riffle shuffle.
“It’s called shithead, we can do an example round if you guys want.”
None of them knew what that game was so they agreed to a practice round.
There’s cards were placed in front of all of them upside down so you couldn’t see the numbers, three more on top of the first cards right side up then three more cards upside down in a small pile.
He picked up the three cards in a pile and the others copied him.
“There are some special cards, 2, 7, 8 and 10, I’ll explain more when we get to that, who has the lowest card that isn’t a two?”
Chuuya explains, looking around the table.
“I’ve got a three.”
Momo speaks up, the red head gestures for her to out it down.
“Pick up another card we need three at least until the deck runs out. We’ll go clockwise, Mina you have to put down a card higher than a three or a three.”
Chuuya says.
She nods and places down a five.
The red head looks towards Denki, he was next in rotation, and he looked a little nervous.
“Anything higher than a five or a five?”
“I’ve got a seven..”
The electric haired boy says, looking up at Chuuya.
“That’s fine this’ll explain a bit more.”
The red head says, waiting for Denki to put down the card.
“Right seven is a special card which means it has different rules, for seven you have to pick a card lower than a seven, I don’t have a card lower than a seven so I have to pick up.”
Chuuya explains before picking up the cards that had been previously placed.
“Since I picked up I can place a card down.”
He puts down a five.
Izuku puts down a nine.
But looked to immediately regret it since it was quite a high number.
He was to sweet.
Momo puts down a Jack.
Mina hesitates before looking at Chuuya.
“Do you not have anything higher than a Jack?”
He asks, she shook her head.
“Do you have a special card? You can place those no matter the card.”
“I have an eight.”
She answers.
“You can put that down, eight is basically a skip, the next person so Denki would have to get higher than a Jack instead of you.”
He explains.
“Nice.”
Mina puts down the eight.
“Aww come on!”
Denki complains before picking up the cards and then placing down a four.
The round continued for a little bit with no special cards being placed, Momo and Chuuya’s managed to get rid of the cards in their hands and could now use the cards on the table.
Izuku was one away from joining them, Denki was two away and Mina had quite a few cards, she kept picking them up.
He explained the rest of the special cards when they were put down.
Two resets the deck so the next person can put whatever they want.
Ten burns the deck so it’s discarded and moved to one side.
Chuuya had gotten rid of all the right side up cars now it was just the ones you couldn’t turn over so it was luck for that.
Momo the unlucky girl had to pick up the whole deck which had gotten quite large, poor girl she was two away from winning.
Chuuya actually won that round, which he was ecstatic about since he almost never won this game, he always played with the flags and he only won a handful of times, or he played with Dazai and the damn mackerel always won.
Oh he would have to play against that Mackerel again and beat his dumbass.
The group played a few more rounds, since shithead wasn’t a fast game, time went quick.
They all had to say their goodbyes soon and went off home.
Chuuya kept the pack of cards, he was happy to, since he didn’t have a set anymore.
When Chuuya got home the last thing he expected was Hana to be slumped at his door, half asleep and reeking of alcohol.
“Hana San?”
The red head says quietly, trying to mask the annoyance in his tone.
“Chuuyaaa~”
She slurred, clumsily rising to her feet and stumbling over herself to pull Chuuya into a hug.
“I missed you.”
He gently pushed her away, though she kept hold of his hand.
He sighed and lead her into his living room, gently pushing her onto the sofa.
He walked over to the kitchen to get her some water.
He sat down beside her and basically forced her to drink the water.
Once she did, she pulled a Chuuya back into a hug, nearly cradling him.
He just let her, he was too tired to pry himself away.
When morning came he held back her hair as she vomited into the toilet, groaning out apologies as bile left her throat.
He helped her back to the sofa when she had finished throwing up, getting her some more water which she took more graciously.
“Chuuya I am so sorry about this,”
She says, genuinely looking upset with herself.
“I’m usually so responsible with alcohol, I don’t.. I don’t know why I wasn’t yesterday.”
She runs a hand through her hair.
“It’s okay Hana san.”
He says, this time, he was the one to initiate the hug.
She hugged back and pressed a faint kiss to his head.
They stayed like that for a few minutes, it was oddly comforting, he could practically fall asleep in her warm arms, though he didn’t want to.
Hana was the one to finally pull away from the hug, beads of tears in her eyes.
She quickly blinked them away.
She looked at Chuuya with a faint material glint in her watery eyes.
“Are you alright Hana san?”
The red head tilts his head at her.
She just smiles and nods.
“I’m fine kid.”
She reassured, giving him a light pat on the back.
“Don’t worry about me.”
“I’m going to make some tea do you want some?”
He asked, rising to his feet.
“Sure.”
She replies.
“Got any plans today?”
Hana asks when Chuuya say back down, two cups of tea in his hands,he passes her a cup and taking a sip of his own before answering.
“No, I don’t think so.”
He shakes his head, looking up at her.
“Why?”
“I don’t feel like cooking, I have a feeling neither do you so why not go out to eat, you can invite some of your friends as well.”
She offers.
Chuuya’s eyes light up at that.
She was right he didn’t want to cook, and he probably wouldn’t even have to pay.
“Oh I wouldn’t want you to waste money on me.”
He tries to decline that offer but Hana just shook her head.
“Money doesn’t matter, I’m a retired hero, I get a discount, you’re also under sixteen, the restaurant we’re going to, gives young teens discounts as well.”
“Okay then, I’ll message some of my friends and see if they’re interested.”
“Great, what do you want to do in the mean time?”
“How about some cards?”
Izuku:I’m free let me just ask my mom first
Alright
Izuku:she doesn’t mind text me when I need to go
Will do
Denki:Sure ill let my parents know just text me when :)
Will do
Hana and Chuuya stood outside the restaurant, waiting for the other two boys to show up.
It didn’t take too long.
Izuku gasped loudly when he saw Hana.
“Aren’t you pro hero fire flower!”
He beamed, stars in his eyes as he made eye contact with her.
“Retired pro hero kid.”
She corrects, a soft smile on her face.
“Why didn’t you tell me you knew a retired hero!”
Izuku turns to Chuuya, giving him a disappointed glare, but his eyes still shined brightly.
“It uh… never came up.”
Chuuya shrugged.
“Come on kids let’s get dinner.”
Hana chimes in, making a faint gesture for the boys to head into the restaurant.
“It was nice to meet you Hana san.”
Izuku bows in respect for the retired hero.
“Yeah nice to meet you.”
Denki says, also bowing.
“Nice to meet you too,”
Hana smiles, giving the boys a light pat on the head.
“I’m glad Chuuya has some nice friends. Are your parents picking you up?”
The two boys nod.
“Alright, be safe. Let’s go Chuuya.”
“See you Thursday!”
Denki calls out, waving goodbye as Chuuya and Hana walked off.
The red head waved back, a wide smile on his face.
“Thursday?”
Hana looks down at him.
“Oh yeah, I was suspended for slapping All Might.”
Chuuya say quickly, looking down at the floor.
“You what!”
The retired hero yells quite loudly,
The red head picked up the pace and jogged away while laughing nervously.
“Hey! Don’t run! I don’t have the right leg to run with!”
“Can’t you run with a prosthetic leg?”
Chuuya skids to a stop and looking back.
“I mean, I can, I just prefer to use the one made for running.”
Hana sneers.

Back to school.
His suspension had ended and he felt way too happy about that.
Though he was glad, he was pretty sure today was when his class was supposed to go to that training centre or whatever it was called, it started with a U he was pretty sure of that.
It seemed to be an important event and he would hate to miss it.
“Welcome back Chuuya.”
Denki says, wrapping an arm around his neck and pulling him into a half assed hug.
They were both sitting down so it was a little awkward but neither of them cared.
“Good to see you again.”
Momo says, walking past him to her desk.
He just nods at her.
“Today’s training will be a little different, but first welcome back Nakahara, I hope you had a good suspension.”
Aizawa says in his usual slightly condescending tone.
Chuuya did his best not to roll his eyes, that was probably a dig at him but he actually had a good suspension so suck it.
“Anyway,”
The teacher continued.
“You’ll have three instructors, me, All Might and another faculty member will be keeping tabs on you.”
Two more observers than normal, that probably wouldn’t help if shit hit the fan.
He knew two heroes that would be watching them, he wondered who the last one would be.
“Sensei! What kind of training is this?”
One of his classmates, Sero he believed that kid was called, called out, raising his hand.
Aizawa pulled out a card from who knows where, “rescue” was written on the label.
“Rescue. You’ll be dealing with natural disasters, shipwrecks, stuff like that.”
Oh how safe this trip was going to be.
Chuuya had an uneasy sensation in his chest and it definitely wasn’t the bandages.
Something within him told him that something was going to go wrong.
Maybe it was the fact that Dazai had been looking into the this, yeah that was probably it.
That little detail made him think that the league of Villains were going to make an appearance, as long as Dazai let them know, and knowing him, he absolutely did.
He let out a silent sigh, trying to match the energy of the classroom, the best he gave was a wide smile.
“Disasters huh,”
Denki says, looking towards Chuuya, a bead of sweat stuck to his face.
“Looks like we’re in for a big work out.”
“Obviously.”
Chuuya sneers.
A few other classmates rambled to each other, though he couldn’t make out what they were saying, it most likely wasn’t important as they were just talking about this trip.
“Guys I’m not finished yet.”
Aizawa speaks up, spooking everyone into silence.
“What you wear in this exercise is up to you, I know you’re excited about costumes,”
He pressed a button and their hero outfits emerged from the wall.
“But keep in mind that you haven’t gotten used to them yet, it might limit your abilities. This special trainings at an off campus facility so we’ll be taking a bus to get there. That’s all start getting ready.”
Aizawa walks off leaving the kids to themselves.
They immediately went up to get their costumes.
At the gates Chuuya noticed Izuku and Momo weren’t wearing their hero costumes.
Izuku he understood why, his suit was probably still destroyed.
Momo however, her suit was fine, wasn’t even torn, why was she wearing it?
He wasn’t exactly complaining, that whore outfit was not suitable for her.
He saw Uraraka bound up to Izuku, probably to ask what he was just thinking.
Chuuya walked over to Momo, hands in his pockets.
“Momo Chan.”
He catches her attention, she hums in recognition.
“Why aren’t you wearing your costume?”
“Oh I took your advice,”
She smiles.
“I had it sent back to make some changes, it isn’t ready yet so I had to wear this instead.”
She explains.
Chuuya smiled back, honestly glad she was changing that thing.
“You adding a lot of zippers?”
“It’s going to look like I came straight from hot topic.”
“Nice.”
He raises his hand up for a high five, she giggled before doing it.
A loud whistle blew, catching everyone’s attention.
Iida stood in front of the bus, looking extremely serious.
“Gather ‘round class 1A!”
He yells.
“Using your student numbers form two neat lines so we can load the bus efficiently!”
He blew the whistle a few more times, pumping his fist up in the air in a robatic manner.
“Can he just command us around?”
Chuuya narrowed his eyes, eyeing Iida with hidden annoyance.
“You weren’t here, yesterday he became student president.”
Momo says, rubbing the back of her head.
He turned his head towards her slowly, eyes wide and mouth blank.
“Say sike right now.”
“I can’t.”
She sighs.
The bus was not what he was expecting.
The seats were different and more spaced apart.
Chuuya sat next to the right of Denki, Aoyama right of Chuuya.
He leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes, resting his arms on the back of the seat casually, who knows how long this ride was, they weren’t told so he might as well get comfy.
“Nakahara.”
The more tolerable blonde speaks up, loud enough to be heard through the others speaking.
The red head hummed in recognition, opening his right eye.
“tu connais le français, n'est-ce pas?”
Aoyama asks, tilting his head slightly.
“Oui je le fais.”
Chuuya responds.
“Ah, donc tu es bilingue.”
The blonde clasps his hands together, tilting his head to the side, seeming genuinely impressed by that.
“Multilingue en fait,”
The red head corrects, blinking slowly, turning his head towards her properly to the other.
“Je connais aussi l'anglais.”
“C'est encore plus impressionnant.”
“Merci.”
“Qu'est-ce qui vous a fait apprendre le français et l'anglais?”
Aoyama questions, resting his hands on his lap, again seeming genuine in his interest.
“Eh bien, je suis français et anglais, je voulais juste être plus proche de mes racines, je suppose.”
Chuuya shrugs as he answered, pausing during his speech a few times to make sure he was saying the right words.
the blonde hummed before speaking up again.
“Vous avez grandi en parlant japonais?”
He asks, looking a little puzzled.
“Oui,”
The red head pauses, quickly thinking about what to say and how to word it.
He didn’t want to worsen the abuse allegation.
“J'ai été adopté par un couple japonais.”
“Ah, je vois.”
Aoyama nods, pleased with that answer, however his eyes wondered over his body for a quick second.
“J'ai des ancêtres français, je suppose que je voulais aussi être plus proche de mes racines,”
He gasps dramatically suddenly, actually slightly surprising the red head.
“Nous pourrions être liés!”
Chuuya snorts before huffing out some laughter.
“Peut être.”
Maybe not that was very improbable and very outlandish.
“Hey, hey, we’re here. Stop messing around.”
Aizawa speaks up, making everyone go silent.
That was quicker than he thought it would be.
He figured it would be like an hour not fifteen or so minutes, or however long it had been.
The training grounds were inside of a large dome, the size rivalled the Port Mafia’s building.
The glass was white tinted and it was hard to see inside, nearly impossible.
Outside the dome was a person wearing what looked like a spacesuit but ridiculously large, there was also no helmet, well there was but it wasn’t like a regular space helmet , it was smaller and pure black with some white eyes.
This must be the pro hero who would be observing them.
“Hello Everyone, I’ve been waiting for you.”
The hero speaks.
She- they- he… what the fuck…
The pro hero caused gasps and whispers among the crowd.
Chuuya heard Izuku say some facts about the hero, he couldn’t catch all of it unfortunately, just that the hero was called thirteen and they’ve rescued a lot of people.
“I can’t wait to show you what’s inside.”
They point their arm towards the door.
This was just a rescue training session wasn’t it, most likely that was what Aizawa had said previously.
“This is going to be bor- Awsome!”
He switches up his words to match the crowds although he didn’t agree with it.
Inside the place felt even larger, different biomes were placed in nearly every part of the dome, there was a mountain range with trees all around it, another dome that wasn’t see through, though it was red instead of white, there was a large lake, someone with an aquatic quirk would thrive there, another dome that was blue and also not see through, the last thing he saw was what looked to be rubble of a large white building with black stripes.
It accounted for nearly all types of terrain, only thing missing would be sky but that would be near impossible so it wasn’t an issue.
“This place is like a theme park.”
Denki gasps, his comment being quite accurate considering there was a water slide at the lake.
“A shipwreck, a landslide, a fire, a windstorm, etc.”
Thirteen listed of some of the biomes.
Ah so the red dome was fire and the blue was a windstorm.
Colour coded how fun
“I created this training facility to prepare you to deal with different types of disasters, I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, but you can call it USJ!”
Just like Universal Studios Japan.
“Hey shouldn’t all might be here already?”
Aizawa walks over to thirteen, hands in his pocket, he looked over his shoulder.
He was right, Chuuya hadn’t seen All Might this whole time.
Was he busier with something else?
Was he scared Chuuya’s was slap him again?
The red head let out an involuntary snicker at that thought.
No that was dumb.
“Let me guess he booked an interview instead.”
“Actually it’s something else.”
The other pro hero says.
They said something else but was too quiet to be heard by anyone other than Aizawa.
He turned back to the students.
“Clocks ticking, we should get started.”
“Excellent, before we begin let me just say one thing, well maybe two things, possibly three, four or five-“
Thirteen rambled on but was cut off by the students.
“Listen carefully, I’m sure you’re aware that I have a powerful quirk. It’s called black hole, I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust,”
So that was their quirk, certainly will remember that.
“Yeah you’ve used black hole to save people from all kinds of disasters before haven’t you.”
Izuku speaks up, Uraraka nodded vigorously next to him, seems she was also interested in this hero.
“That’s true,”
Thirteen continues.
“But my quirk can also very easily be used to kill.”
That made everyone surprised, but that made Chuuya a bit more interested, he had to hide that intrigue with shock to blend in.
They really shouldn’t be so surprised, the heroes quirk was called black hole of course it could be used to kill.
“Some of you also have powers that can be dangerous. In our superhuman society all quirks or certified and harshly regulated, so we often overlook how unsafe they can actually be. Please don’t forget if you lose focus or make the wrong move, your powers can be deadly. Even if you’re trying to do something virtuous like rescue someone, thanks to Aizawa’s fitness tests, you have a solid idea of your quirk’s potential. And because of All Mights combat training, you likely experienced how dangerous your powers can be when used against other people.”
All Mights Battle training was bullshit and just resulted in people getting hurt because he didn’t do shit when things went wrong.
Aizawa’s fitness tests were also complete crap since they hardly took into account quirks that weren’t suited for those tests.
“Carry those lessons over to this class. Today we’re going to learn how to use your quirks to save people’s lives, you won’t be using your powers to attack enemies or each other, only to help. After all that’s what being a hero is all about.”
That’s what being a heroes all about until that hero doesn’t do Jack shit when training gets a little to out of hand and someone gets blown up.
“Ensuring the safety of others. That’s all I have to say. Thank you so much for listening.”
Thirteen finally finished their monologue.
He felt some of his dignity slip away as he applauded the hero to match the other students cheers.
“Right.”
Aizawa called out.
“Now that that’s over.”
He pointed over to the pit in the ground where the biomes were.
Suddenly the lights flickered and went out one by one.
The fountain in the centre of the trading grounds faltered and a black and purple portal appeared, it formed what looked like some sort of messed up human with glowing yellow eyes.
Was this part of the training?
No it couldn’t be, Aizawa looked to freaked out for it to be planned.
The portal was far but Chuuya could see a hand emerge from the darkness.
“Stay together and don’t move.”
Their home room teacher commanded, his voice unnaturally stern.
This was real.
“Thirteen, protect the students.”
A figure stepped out from the portal, others following behind them.
The person who seemed to be leading this had severed hands decorated their body.
The other people walked in front of them, apart from one.
A person wearing all Black from head to toe covering their entire body, except a white mask with a smiley face poorly drawn onto it, a top hat rested on their head, it looked like Victorian styled, so did the odd suit and cloak hanging around their shoulders, they looked like they were leaning on a thin sword that matches the 1800’s look they were going for.
“Stay back!”
Aizawa’s says more roughly, putting on the glasses he had around his neck.
“This is real, those are villains.”
Notes:
The English conversation between the French people
“You know French right?”
Aoyama asks, tilting his head slightly.“Yes, I do.”
Chuuya responds.“Ah so you’re bilingual.”
The blonde clasps his hands together, tilting his head to the side, seeming genuinely impressed by that.“Multilingual actually,”
The red head corrects, blinking slowly, turning his head towards her properly to the other.
“I know English as well.”“That’s even more impressive.”
“Thank you.”
“What made you learn French and English?”
Aoyama questions, resting his hands on his lap, again seeming genuine in his interest.“Well I am French, and English, just wanted to be closer to my roots I guess.”
Chuuya shrugs as he answered, pausing during his speech a few times to make sure he was saying the right words.the blonde hummed before speaking up again.
“You grew up speaking Japanese?”
He asks, looking a little puzzled.“Yeah,”
The red head pauses, quickly thinking about what to say and how to word it.
“I was adopted by a Japanese couple.”“Ah I see.”
Aoyama nods, pleased with that answer, however his eyes wondered over his body for a quick second.
“I have French ancestry, I suppose I also wanted to be closer to my roots,”
He gasps dramatically suddenly.
“We could be related!”Chuuya snorts before huffing out some laughter.
“Maybe.”
Maybe not that was very improbable.
So at first I planned to do USJ all in one chapter but I decided to split it into two instead, the next chapter will be longer and more angst so I hope you guys are ready
Also how would y’all feel if I made a discord server, it would include my other fics but that doesn’t really matter

Chapter Text
There were actually villains here.
So many, just from where he stood Chuuya could count at least thirty people, there were probably way more but he was too far away to see if that was true.
They just kept coming, it was like an endless flow of villains coming from that weird portal thing.
“The only real heroes I see are thirteen and eraser head.”
That weird portal thing could speak.
Was it a person?
“Perplexing. According to the schedule we retrieved from UA All Might should be here as well.”
“So you scumbags used the press as a cover and sneered onto campus.”
Aizawa said.
Wait.
What happened with the press?
Chuuya could recall them hanging around the school gates.
Whatever happened must’ve taken place after he was suspended.
The villains kept walking closer to the pavilion the students and heroes stood on, only three intruders stayed at the fountain.. four if the purple mass was a person.
The guy in the middle, the one with all the hands, looked troubled, his body language displayed minor annoyance.
He might be disappointed due to All Might’s lack of an appearance.
Chuuya pushed himself to the front of the small crowd to look over the edge and get a better scale of the situation.
Definitely over thirty villains, all with quite unique appearances.
That 1800’s villain caught his eye, he stared for a little too long.
He saw the villain slowly turn his head.
Was he looking at him?
Aizawa’s scarf floated around him, swaying in the non existent breeze.
He was ready to strike in case anything happened or if he needed to strike first.
“What, real villains?”
Kirishima asks, though it was most likely rhetorical.
“No way. How could so many of them get into a UA facility this secure?”
“Yeah, thirteen,”
Momo moves to the front staring at the pro hero standing guard.
“Why aren’t the alarms going off?”
“Good question,”
The hero says, looking up to the blown out lights.
“I’m not sure.”
“Is the entire campus under attack or is this their only target?”
A split haired kid, Todoroki his name was, questioned, his voice surprisingly calm despite the situation going on.
“Either way if the alarm sensors aren’t being triggered, one of these villains must have a quirk masking their presence here. They carefully chose this isolated facility as an entry point at a time a class was being taught. They’re fools for trespassing here. But they’ve thought this out. Whatever their plan they must have a concrete objective in mind. But what is it?”
If Chuuya had to guess, it would be killing All Might.
He allowed a nervous expression to creep up on his face, though he did his best to make it look as if he were trying to stay calm.
His eyes stayed locked onto the Victorian styled villain who was now whispering something to the leader.
The blue haired person waved dismissively.
Chuuya watches the black wearing villain dart away somewhere out of sight.
“Thirteen, get them out of here,”
Aizawa commands, walking over to the ledge beside the other hero.
“Alert the main campus. Actually if they’ve got the ability to block our sensors, they might be jamming our regular communications too. Kaminari, try using your quirk to contact the school.”
Denki agrees instantly and gets on that, walking to the side, getting out of the way while he tries.
“What are you going to do?”
Izuku calls out.
“You can’t fight them on your own, there’s to many of them, even if you can nullify their quirks, your fighting style is not suited for this, your power works best for stealth and one on one fights, it’s not gonna help with a group.”
“He’s a hero isn’t he?”
Chuuya suddenly buts in, looking between Izuku and Aizawa, the two now looking at him.
“His quirk is better for stealth and what not but he doesn’t need to even use it, he has the carbon fibre things he can throw punches, that’s really all he needs.”
He says gesturing to the scarf floating around their home room teacher.
He had gotten a little sick with how Izuku was underestimating the hero.
“Exactly, you can’t be a pro if you only have one trick,”
The underground hero nods before turning back to the ledge, getting into a faint crouch.
“I’ll leave it to you thirteen.”
He waits an extra second before jumping down into the pit.
“Come on kids, let’s hurry.”
Thirteen says, gesturing for the students to head towards the exit.
Despite wanting to see how Aizawa fought, Chuuya followed his peers as they ran to the doors
He noticed Izuku hanging back to watch the fighting.
He skidded to a stop and was about to call out but Iida beat him to that.
“This is no time to be analysing! We have to go.”
That got Izuku running.
The doors were stupidly far out, even while running it would take way too long to get to them quickly.
A pool of that portal substance formed on the floor, causing everyone to stop and stare.
It only took a second for that figure to form as it burst into a cloud.
“There is no escape for you,”
The figure said, it was still morphing into an actual form.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, we are the league of villains.”
Chuuya had to force himself not to cringe when that name was muttered.
He could make fun of it more when he was out of this situation.
“I know it’s impolite but we decided to invite ourselves into this haven of justice to say hello.”
Haven of justice was a bit of a stretch but whatever it at least sounded badass.
Unlike another name.
“And besides isn’t this a fitting place for All Might, the symbol of peace, to take his last breath.”
So they were after All Might, that was a given but having confirmation made that hit harder.
“I believe he was supposed to be here today and yet I see no sign of him, there must have been some sort of change in plans we could not have foreseen. Ah well in the end I suppose it doesn’t matter, I still have a role to play.”
Thirteen gasped as Bakugo and Kirishima jumped at the misty figure.
These dumb mother fuckers were going to get themselves killed
Chuuya’s jaw literally dropped as he saw an explosion’s smoke covered the students and villain.
“Did you seriously think we were just gonna stand around and let you tear this place to shreds?”
Kirishima asks rhetorically.
It did nothing.
Their brainless attack did nothing.
Once the smoke cleared that purple villain was fine.
The thing was made from mist how would an explosion and whatever the fuck Kirishima’s quirk was, do anything to something not physical.
A pro hero was literally right there!
Thirteen had the power to create black holes that would evaporating the fucker!
Those two got in the way and fucked up their escape route harder than Chuuya thought he had fucked up the mission.
“You live up to your schools reputation.”
Yeah, dumb as fuck!
“But you should be more careful children, otherwise someone might get hurt.”
“You two.”
The hero says, their voice surprisingly calm despite the stunt those boys had pulled.
“get out of the way, now!”
“I’ll scatter you across this facility to meet my comrades and your deaths!”
The purple most surrounded them, there was no escape.
The harsh wind inside made it near impossible to move.
Chuuya thought to use his ability but he didn’t even know if that would work against this.
He moved his hand in didn’t of his face to try and block the wind, though it really didn’t help.
The heavy wind stopped, it now felt more gentle, but it also felt like he was falling.
He opened his eyes, and saw the ground rapidly approaching.
Luckily he could react quick enough to activate his ability and float before he went splat over the dirt.
Alright. Alright, where was he?
He looked around and saw buildings near by.
What was near the buildings?
Think dammit think!
Landslide!
The landslide zone.
That misty villain must have transported him to the landslide area.
That teleportation was definitely not something to take lightly, especially since it only looked like he was teleported here, everyone else must be scattered around like he had said he would do.
It looked like he was alone-
“BeHiNd YoU.”
Chuuya tossed his head around.
A villain stood over him, their fist raised, their footsteps were nearly silent.
He silently thanked Arahabaki and wound his own fist back ready to make the first punch.
Before he could, ice began to engulf the villain, freezing them in place.
He heard some footsteps and looked to where they hailed from.
Todoroki walked up to him, his expression blank.
“Thank you.”
Chuuya thanked, giving a slight bow of gratitude.
“You should be more aware of your surroundings.”
The taller student says bluntly, moving past Chuuya and going up the carved hill.
That was rude.
“I am aware of my surroundings.”
Chuuya hissed, following Todoroki, darting up the slope and getting ahead of him, looking out from the ledge.
“Clearly not,”
The split haired child said with a faint sneer, joining the red head with looking over the edge.
“You didn’t seem to notice the villain approaching you.”
“I did notice him.”
Chuuya narrowed his eyes at Todoroki, clenching his fists together, trying to keep his anger in check
“It took you a while to notice him.”
“His footsteps were quiet I didn’t hear him until he was right behind me.”
Todoroki didn’t respond anymore, he just turned back to the slope leading back down, more villains had appeared and they looked ready to kill.
Chuuya readied his fists, planting his feet in a steadier pose.
His eyes narrowed with confusion when Todoroki stepped in front of him.
“They won’t get to us.”
He says, more ice covered the ground and snaked down the slope, the villains tried to avoid the frost but they were quickly consumed.
The villains were immobile, their bodies twitched but they couldn’t break free from the ice.
“Quite handy with that ice aren’t yah.”
Chuuya compliments, his stance relaxing and placing a hand on his hip.
The taller gave a faint nod of recognition but stayed silent.
The red head’s smile faded into a frown when he saw hands appear from the ledge, a villain pulled themselves up, climbing onto the small cliff and lunged at Todoroki.
Chuuya quickly dragged the split haired student to the side and threw a fast yet strong kick to the attackers side, pushing them over to the ice, which quickly worked its way up their body.
Todoroki looked at Chuuya, a glint of thanks in his eyes, however he never said it.
“You should be more aware of your surroundings.”
Chuuya sneered, a snarky grin of his face as he turned to the taller.
Todoroki hummed, turning his gaze away.
“Something you wanna say?”
“No.”
The split haired student said coldly.
Chuuya whined, taking a step over to the other.
Another villain climbed up the side of the hill.
“There is something you should say, considering I just saved you.”
The red head hints, throwinb another swift kick to the villain, making them stumble but they didn’t fall.
Chuuya activated his ability and jumped into the air, delivering a barrage of kicks to the villain until he joined his comrade in plummeting down.
Todoroki inhaled a deep breath, his head turning slightly to Chuuya.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
He sneered again, deactivating has ability and falling back down to the rough floor.
“They were quite unprepared,”
Todoroki says, looking over all the frozen villains.
“This plan to scatter us and kill us, it might have been a good plan if they were experienced or had any idea on how to use their quirks.”
Chuuya hummed a faint agreement.
Truly, these villains did seem weak, maybe to him and Todoroki but still, their feeble attempts at murder was disappointing, he had killed people twice his side when he was fifteen.
The taller started to walk down the icy slope, villains shivered and mumbled faint insults towards the student.
“He’s not a kid, he’s a monster.”
Chuuya followed behind him, glaring at the villains making those comments.
Even though Todoroki was quite cold, using that language was simply childish and rude.
How did these guys even plan on killing All Might, the hero wasn’t immune to damage, Chuuya knew that first hand, but still the man wasn’t weak.
A villain pounced at the split haired student, but was frozen instantly.
Behind Chuuya another villain thrusted a staff, the red head shifted out of the way and swung his leg around to kick the attacker in the head forcing them to the ground, and they were consumed by ice a second after.
God these villains seemed more like low life thugs than actual dangerous criminals, how were these inexperienced, weak, nobodies going to kill All Might?
“Listen well,”
Todoroki speaks up, grabbing their attention.
“If you stay frozen your cells will slowly die as your body succumbs to frostbite and hypothermia.”
He threats.
Oh Chuuya knew what he was doing.
He was trying to get information, threats were often a good way to get that.
Torture as well, much more effective, he knew some good ways to get information courtesy of Dazai telling him about different torture methods he had to try whenever he had to take over for Kouyou’s torturers.
Though he didn’t exactly have the tools to do most methods, he also wasn’t alone on the hill, and using a torture method wouldn’t be a good look.
“If you want a faster death,”
The red head chimes in, tilting his head slightly to look at the other villain.
“I can always make you float off the ledge and have you plummet instead.”
He grinned, he forget how good threatening people could be.
Todoroki looked at him, eyes a little wide but he quickly understood that Chuuya’s was helping him out.
“You’re supposed to be hero students!”
The villain called out, their eyes wide and filled with fear and anger.
“If you kill us, any of us! You’ll be expelled and arrested!”
“Oh but we can’t control our quirks,”
Chuuya softens his voice, trying to sound much more innocent, placing a hand to his chest in a hurt manner, turning to face the villain properly.
“After all, we’re students aren’t we?”
“If you die it would just be collateral damage.”
Todoroki backs him up, though he kept his demeanour and tone the same.
“An accident.”
Chuuya adds.
“You two are insane!”
“And you’re trying to kill children, who are the real insane ones?”
The split haired student points his nose up, looking at the villain with disgust.
“I do want to avoid any unnecessary cruelty however,”
He lifts his hand over the attackers face, icy mists came from his palms.
“So tell us how you plan on killing All Might. That’s the only way you’ll survive.”
The villain stayed quiet for a while, either out of fear or stupidity, didn’t really matter, Chuuya knew the look in people’s eyes when they were ready to spill their guts, this guy was about a few seconds aware from spewing.
“I don’t know!”
The attacker yells out, screwing his eyes shut, tears now streaming down his face.
“I don’t know I swear!”
The two students exchanged glances, both completely unconvinced.
“The only thing I know is that our leader is going to use that weird thing!”
“What weird thing?”
Todoroki asks.
Chuuya took a step towards the villain, tapping the ice surrounding him.
A red glow surrounded him and the frost, gravity increased the ice and forced it to squeeze down onto the villain.
“Be a little more descriptive.”
The red head sneers, a scowl on his face.
The attacker let out a groan of pain before continuing to speak.
“The thing standing next to him, it has a beak or something! I don’t know anything else I swear, we weren’t told much, only that All Might would be here and that thing could harm him!”
The students exchanged another glance, choosing to believe him.
Todoroki lowered his hand, the ice slowly began to melt.
“Don’t follow us.”
He said before running off, Chuuya followed behind him.
They could hear the sounds of battle coming from the fountain area, it was far away and would take a while to actually get there.
They both ran as fast as they could, Chuuya could feel his legs begin to ache but he did his best to ignore it.
They were still decently high and they could see the battle.
Chuuya could see All Might join the fight.
He was here.
This was taking too long, using the path was slowing them down.
He literally has a gravity ability using the path was redundant.
Chuuya grabbed Todoroki by the wrist and activated his ability.
He jumped off the ledge, keeping a tight grip on the other.
They skidded down the mountain, making it down much faster than they would’ve if they hadn’t jumped.
The fight was properly in view now, All Might looked to be held down by that weird thing, he was bleeding.
It really could hurt him.
His heart sunk when he saw Izuku running towards All Might.
He looked towards the split haired student and gave a silent plead.
He had forced his breathing to be heavy and slightly slowed his running pace to give the illusion of exhaustion.
Todoroki noticed his expression and ran ahead freezing the ground leading up to the things arm, his ice managed to cut off it’s movements and All Might pried himself free from its grip.
Chuuya hasn’t even noticed that Bakugo had joined the fight, Kirishima as well, he went after the leader, throwing punches but missing.
He went to join the others but before he could, that Victorian styled villain darted in front of him, holding out his sword to block the way.
the villain took a step forward, Chuuya took a step back.
The villain darted over to Chuuya and pushed him back.
The red head quickly steadied himself and raised his fists.
The villain kept coming at him with punches and kicks that weren’t even trying to actually hit him, just push him back.
Chuuya was pushed over to the rubbled buildings, the villain’s punches now hitting.
The red head punched back, landing heavy hits into the villains sides and chest, throwing kicks in the same places.
Most of his hits however were blocked a few seconds before the shorter even did them.
Chuuya was kicked back, that old fashioned sword swiping at his stomach, barely missing.
The red head activated his ability and jumped up into the air and threw several kicks onto the villain, who used his arm to block them but was pushed back.
He lunged back at Chuuya, thrusting his sword forward, attempting to stab or swipe the red head.
Chuuya managed to dodge it, quickly darting behind the villain and kicking him in the back, sending him stumbling forward.
The villain quickly found his footing but wasn’t quick enough to block another kick, pushing him back again.
The brunette villain raised his sword and blocked a floating kick from Chuuya.
The red head winced as he felt the blade cut into his heeled boot and into his skin.
He pushed himself back, landing on the floor and wincing again as pain shot through his foot.
He limped back and raised his fists once again, gritting his teeth together.
The villain came at him again, their hits were practically in sink, their moves matched, Chuuya managed to get a few punches in but he has to get creative with where he punched, he noticed the villain wouldn’t match him when he went for the waist or back.
He was forced to adjust his fiting style to actually land hits on this guy.
Chuuya went for a kick to the villain’s head but his heart sank when he raised a hand and grabbed onto the red heads ankle.
That move was almost… predicted.
The villain pulled him a little closer and Chuuya managed to get a better look at him.
That brown hair was so oddly familiar, that vanilla scent as well.
His eyes widened as he realised who was behind the mask.
A sudden pain shot throughout his body, his mouth was forced open as blood burst from his lips, burning his throat as it exited his body.
He let his guard down for a moment and Dazai took the opportunity to stab him through the side, just above his waist.
Chuuya pulled his leg free and his arms tensed around his sides.
More blood spewed from his mouth as the sword twisted to sideways.
The red head instinctively grabbed the blade, the sharpness slit his palms.
He could feel anger that wasn’t his fill his body.
His vision blurred but he could see those red patterns appear on his body, he didn’t stop the God from taking over.
Stabbing his dog wasn’t exactly part of the plan but he had his reasons, he always did.
Though he didn’t anticipate Arahabaki making an appearance, no matter, he was only wearing one glove for a reason.
He was genuinely surprised when Chuuya body pushed itself further into the blade, a hand reached out trying to grab or do something to Dazai, but he simply put his own free hand on his, a light blue glow indicated his active ability.
“…RaT.”
The god spat out, more blood pouring from its mouth.
What fowl language from such a high being, he has been around Chuuya for way too long.
Dazai stepped closer to the shorter, he used his leg to kick him off the blade, pushing him back far enough to make him stumble and fall onto the floor, his head hit onto a broken down wall of debris.
The patterns on his skin had faded but faint imprints of them had stuck.
How strange that hasn’t happened before.
“Chuuya!”
A pained scream came from a few feet away.
It was just that electric, blonde kid.
The student skidded to a stop just in front of Chuuya, electricity exploded from his body and got dangerously close to Chuuya but he was just out of range.
Dazai however was not, he jumped in the air, managing to avoid the attack but that wouldn’t last long, he was light but not that light.
Luckily for him the electricity went away and the boy had ran over to a barely conscious slug, who seems to be crying.
Was that an act or was he really crying?
He had been stabbed before so it had to be a show.
A little performer he was.
The battle was over, it was time for him to exit, along with the league, who had lost that fight.
“Chuuya!”
Denki called out again, now on his knees and cradling Chuuya with one arm, he used the other to try and block the blood that was squirting out.
The red head sobbed, his fingers digging into the other’s back from around his neck.
“Denki!”
Chuuya managed to choke out despite the tears streaming down his affection and the constant hiccups.
“I-I’m scared! I don’t wanna die!”
“You aren’t gonna die! You’re gonna be fine, okay!”
Denki reassured, gently shaking him to emphasise that point.
Chuuya kept crying, nearly screaming out in sobs and pain.
“I don’t wanna die!”
He wailed out again, gripping Denki’s jacket even tighter.
“You aren’t gonna die, there are pros here okay, the villains are gone.”
The other said, pulling him a little closer.
“It- it hurts! It hurts so much!”
Chuuya bawled, his whole body trembling, Denki’s hand hardly stopped the blood from escaping.
“I- I know, I know, just keep your eyes- hey! Eyes open!”
He gently shook him again, before letting him go and prying his hands off his back.
Denki quickly took off his jacket and lifted up Chuuya’s shirt slightly just so he could tightly wrap his jacket around the wound, that managed to keep the blood from flowing.
“Chuuya keep your eyes open!”
He pulled the shorter back into his arms, looking around for a hero to show but they weren’t here yet.
“I- I don’t want to die.”
Chuuya’s voiced and gone quieter, he could feel himself slipping from consciousness, his eyelids flickering.
“You’re not, you aren’t going to die, just don’t close your eyes.”
Denki reassured once more, tears beginning to fall from his eyes.
“I- I can’t-“
“Don’t say that! Just keep talking, just yell or something just don’t- don’t close your eyes.”
All the words were blocked in his throat, he couldn’t keep himself awake much longer.
His vision blurred even more and a weak; “I can’t,” fell from his lips, his eyes slowly shutting.
He heard Denki yell out his name once more but he couldn’t keep himself conscious anymore.

Chapter Text
He couldn’t move.
He could barely open his eyes and when he did all he saw was a blurry white ceiling.
When he was actually able to keep his eyes open for more then a few seconds, they still felt heavy, he could make out a few figures standing over him one of them went to speak but he ended up passing back out before he could hear what they had to say.
When he next woke up he felt more awake, his eyelids weren’t as heavy, he could keep them open now.
He sat up from the bed he found himself in, running his fingers through his hair he looked around, immediately noticing a small device sticking into his hand, it was taped down with a white plaster, he saw his blood, he assumed it was his blood, inside the small glass device.
What was it an iv?
Whatever it was he knew he didn’t like it.
He looked further up his arm and saw lighter patches of skin in a stripe crawling along his arm.
That wasn’t there before…
Once he tore his eyes away from that thing, he could tell he was alone, he guessed he was in the hospital, at least he should be in the hospital, no nurses or doctors accompanied him, the lights were off and it was dark, it must be night.
He also realised that he was in a hospital gown and he couldn’t shake the feeling of discomfort when he thought about how someone would’ve had to change him out of his clothes and the idea of anyone other than him seeing his body made him feel sick.
That sickness quickly replaced itself with anger when he thought about what lead him to be in the hospital.
Dazai fucking stabbed him.
That brain dead idiot stabbed him.
What the hell could be the reason for that?
As if on cue, that bastard peered from behind the closed curtain surrounding Chuuya.
That anger boiled within even more as Dazai silently walked over to him and sat down on the bed, crossing his legs and facing the red head.
“What the fuck, do you want?”
Chuuya hissed, his eye twitching.
“Yeesh, I knew you’d be mad but I thought you’d have enough time to cool down.”
Dazai sighs, his head falling to the side, a his smile twisted downward.
“I am… calm.”
The red head gripped the bedsheets until his knuckles turned white.
The brunette tilted his head to the other shoulder and gave a look of disbelief.
Chuuya wasn’t angry… he was fuming.
There is a difference.
He gritted his teeth together, he couldn’t even hide his anger anymore.
“YoU sHoUlD kIlL hIm.”
Arahabaki’s voice rung out within his head, Chuuya could also feel the deity’s hatred.
“Go on, let it all out.”
Dazai says with a whiny voice, pulling his head up straight.
“Try to be quiet though, people are sleeping after all-“
“You fucking bastard.”
Chuuya shifted onto his knees and lunges forward to grab the other’s bandaged throat, squeezing harshly, getting gurgled sounds from Dazai who didn’t even try to free himself.
A pain shot throughout his body, he gasped, his hands released the brunette’s neck, he retreated back into himself, arms bracing against the mattress while his fists clenched into balls.
That stab wound wasn’t healed yet, he may have just reopened it because of his harsh movement, he didn’t regret it through.
“Lay back down slug,”
Dazai sighs, pushing Chuuya onto his back, the red head didn’t get up for a few long seconds, he let the pain subside before sitting up again.
“Don’t hurt yourself even more.”
“I didn’t hurt myself the first time.”
Chuuya hissed, wrapping a hand around his abdomen, his eyes narrowing in annoyance.
He felt himself calm down, though he could sense a hatred, that didn’t belong to him, hover around the air.
“Don’t you think I’ve bled enough this month?”
“Don’t use that card on me.”
The taller frowned.
“Listen puppy, I didn’t want to stab you but it was necessary.”
Dazai crosses his arms.
“Stabbing me was necessary?”
“Yes, it was.”
“Oh? Explain to me, how it was necessary?”
“Of course chibi! I was doing some research a few days ago and turns out UA holds a sports event every year and all students are supposed to take part,”
“What does that have to do with you stabbing me?”
“Well that event is open to the public, and I’m pretty sure it’s televised, I might be wrong but it won’t be private, now we don’t need you getting popular do we.”
“So you stabbed me?”
“It’s better for the mission if you don’t participate.”
Chuuya clenched his fists together again.
“And you couldn’t think of any other way to accomplish that?”
“I did want to talk to you about this during the attack at that training facility,”
Dazai says, his voice less patronising than it was moments ago.
“But Kurogiri decided to teleport you somewhere else so I couldn’t talk with you.”
“Kurogiri?”
Chuuya mumbles.
“Oh the portal guy.”
“Exactly.”
Dazai nods.
The shorter couldn’t stop a snicker from escaping his mouth, much to the other’s confusion.
“God you did all that and you didn’t even buy me dinner afterwards.”
“Why would I buy you dinner?”
Dazai questions.
“Because I liked to be wined and dined after I’ve been FUCKED!”
Chuuya hissed, getting back on his knees and getting up in Dazai’s face, baring his teeth like a dog.
The brunette was taken aback by that, his face flushed a faint red for a few seconds before he rolled his eyes.
The red head felt his heart lurch forward, the Gods anger was starting to affect his own emotions, his breath hitched as he gritted his teeth together.
“Are you okay Chuuya?”
“KiLl HiM”
Arahabaki’s voiced boomed within his head causing a spike of pain to shoot through his skull, he pressed his hand to his forehead and whined, squeezing his eyes shut.
“KiLl HiM”
“KiLl HiM”
“KiLl HiM”
“KiLl HiM”
“KiLl HiM”
“KiLl HiM”
“Shut up!”
Chuuya dug his nails into his skin, his voice came out louder than he wanted it to.
“I didn’t say anything.”
Dazai tilted his head again, his void eyes held some sort of concern to them.
“Not you dumbass.”
The red head sneered, forcing his left eye open to look at the taller and for a split second he swore he saw a shadowy figure looming over Dazai.
He blinked, opening his right eye and that figure was gone.
He must be seeing things.
He screwed his eyes shut and rested his head in his hands, he could still hear the now quieter speech of the deity.
“Just shut up for a minute.”
Chuuya didn’t know who he was telling to shut up, probably both.
Much to his surprise, Dazai stayed quiet.
The voice in his head had gone quiet as well, but the Gods anger still lingered.
“I get you’re angry but you gotta calm down.”
Chuuya whispered, he could see hostile red eyes stare back at him through the darkness of his closed eyelids.
“ThAt, RaT sTaBdEd YoU,”
Arahabaki’s voice grew louder, coercing a wince from the red head.
“Do YoU eXpEcT mE tO bE fInE wItH tHaT?”
“No course I don’t, I’m not happy about that either but please just calm down and stop telling me to kill him.”
“Excuse me?”
“I told you to shut up mackerel.”
“If YoU wOnT kIlL hIm, YoU sHoUlD eAt HiM.”
“What?”
Chuuya’s eyes snapped open, he could feel bile form at the back of his throat at that disgusting comment.
“TeAr OuT hIs ThRoAt, SiNk YoUr TeEtH iNtO hIs FlEsH, I’m SuRe HiS bLoOd WiLl HeLp ReGaIn YoUr StReNgTh, JuSt MaKe HiM bLeE-“
Chuuya didn’t even realise he had lunged forward until his mind went quiet.
His fingers were tightly clenched around Dazai’s hand.
“Are you okay..?”
The brunette asked slowly, looking down at the red head with a puzzled expression.
Chuuya stayed quiet for a little longer, trying to calm his nerves down.
“Fine… fine, I’m fine.”
He sucked in a breath, his pupils were unfocused and he couldn’t look Dazai in the eye.
“Do you wanna… talk… about it?”
The taller asks.
Chuuya shook his head.
Dazai, shockingly, didn’t push.
“Maybe another time.”
The red head says.
“Can you let me go now?”
The brunette whines.
The red head hummed retracted his hand from Dazai’s hand.
“Did you like my outfit?”
He muses, grinning obnoxiously.
“Ha?”
Chuuya cocks his head to the side, confused by the random question.
“My outfit,”
Dazai repeats himself.
“I figured you would like it because of what I was going for.”
“What were you going for?”
The red head sneers.
“An 1800’s murderer… oh my God, were you cosplaying Jack the Ripper?”
“I wouldn’t say cosplaying more so, inspired by.”
Dazai says, a dull twinkle in his eye.
“How disrespectful can you be?”
Chuuya rolls his eyes.
“Disrespect- how am I being disrespectful?”
The brunette crosses his arms, genuine offence in his tone.
“You were cosplaying a serial killer.”
The red head sneered.
“I was not cosplaying,”
The taller whines, leaning forward.
“Plus we’ve done worse.”
“Why are you grouping me in with you?”
“Because you’ve also been disrespectful but I don’t complain about it.”
“How have I been disrespectful?”
“Well you’re rude.”
“To who?”
“To me.”
“Oh you don’t count.”
“What!”
Dazai pouts, his eyes puffed up in fake sadness.
“Stop whinging.”
The brunette’s eyes narrow, his face twisted into slight confusion as he stares a little too long at the other’s face.
“Since when did you have a brown eye?”
“What? I dont have a brown eye.”
Chuuya tilted his head at the taller.
What was he on about, were those bandages on too tight?
The room wasn’t that dark, surely he wouldn’t mistake blue for brown.
“No, look.”
Dazai pulls out his phone and Chuuya heard the click of a picture being taken.
The brunette passed his phone to the red head.
When did he have a brown eye?
Chuuya looked at the picture Dazai had taken and he did have a brown eye, also some markings of his cheeks and neck.
Chuuya’s eyes sharpened as he went to the camera, he raised a hand and traced over the prints in his skin.
He had them all over his body, all the parts not obstructed by clothing had those marks on it.
“Those markings resemble the ones you get when you use corruption.”
Dazai informs, looking over the lighter patches of skin.
“Though, they never left those before.”
He took Chuuya’s hand, his thumb traced over the mark.
“Think they’ll fade?”
The red head asks, although he knew Dazai wouldn’t know.
“It’s possible, it might be worth asking Arahabaki once my ability wears off.”
Chuuya nods and pulls his hand away, returning the phone.
His eye twitches as Dazai pats him on the head a few times.
“I’m glad you’re okay puppy.”
The red head groans, swatting the bandaged limb away.
“I seriously didn’t want to stab you but it was the only way I could think of at the time.”
Dazai wasn’t bothered by the hostility, he was used to it by now.
He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and stood up.
He stayed still for a few more seconds.
“There’s a police officer that’ll most likely interview you, he’s basically a human lie detector, he’ll know if you lie, but just like a lie detector, if you stay calm, lies and truths will be indistinguishable from each other.”
“Got it.”
Chuuya nods, he had never been under a lie detector, but he had no reason not to believe Dazai about this, other than the fact that it was Dazai.
Just like that, the taller walked away, disappearing behind the curtain.
Dazai’s ability lasted like an hour so he had a good amount of time to himself.
Would drinking blood help him recover?
Why was he thinking about that?
He wouldn’t admit it to anyone, but he was curious if that was true or if Arahabaki just wanted to murder Dazai.
Either way he shouldn’t be thinking about cannibalism, he was already a criminal he didn’t want to add cannibalism to his charges.
Hopefully these patterns would fade, even if he doubted they would after what Dazai had said about them being new.
It was late, he shouldn’t be awake right now.
He lied back, passing out almost immediately after his head hit the pillow.
“Ma’am, I understand you’re concerned but he may not even be awake.”
Chuuya blinked awake, hearing a strangers voice, probably a nurse, he saw her silhouette through the curtains fabric, along with a silhouette that seemed much more familiar.
“So? I don’t want him to wake up alone!”
That sounded like Hana.
Was she talking about him?
She must be.
“And since his parents are no were to be seen! I’d like to be there!”
“Okay, ma’am please lower your voice.”
The nurse said a little quieter, trying her best to keep things calm, ultimately failing when Chuuya sits up.
Hana noticed immediately and just forced herself past the other woman and through the curtain.
Tears welled in her eyes as she saw Chuuya, who stared back.
“Thank God.”
She said after a few seconds, quickly walking over to the bed, she wrapped her arms around the red head and pulled him into an unreciprocated hug.
“You’re okay.”
Chuuya’s hands hovered in the air for a moment, it took a few seconds before he returned the gesture.
Hana pulled away after a few long seconds, her hands fell to his shoulders, water fell down her cheeks despite her attempts to keep herself calm.
“Are you okay? Do you need anything?”
“I’m fine Hana.”
He says placing his hand on her’s.
Her smile fell as she finally noticed the spirals on his skin.
“What are these?”
She questions, moving her hands off his shoulders and taking his hand gently, her thumbs tracing over the mark on the back of his hand.
“They don’t look like scars.”
Chuuya frowned, the marks had faded slightly, but they weren’t gone, which he was a little disappointed by.
“I don’t know,”
He murmured.
“I woke up and they were there. I don’t know what caused them.”
He felt a pane of guilt as he lied to her but he didn’t want to risk anything.
“Whatever, as long as you’re alive.”
She drags him back into another quick hug.
She backs away again and falls into the seat beside the bed, wiping the tears from her eyes.
“Do you mind… telling me what happened, I don’t recall my USJ trip being so dangerous.”
He sighed before recounting the events of that day, from when the villains showed up to when he got stabbed.
He saw her safe go from soft to tense, her eyes unfocused as she listened.
“I don’t know what happened after the attack, I blacked out.”
He rubbed the back of his head, the wound in his side stung with pain as he thought about how he got it.
“Villains got into the USJ…”
Hana mumbled, her leg bounced up and down as she leaned into her fingers.
“Even with someone with a teleportation quirk, I wouldn’t have guessed it would be so easy to get in.”
Before she could speak more an older looking man came in, he looked quite regular, short black hair, stubble on his chin, he must be the officer.
“Pro Hero Fire flower.”
He addresses Hana first, dipping his head in respect.
She tutted and waved her hand dismissively, sitting up straight.
“I’m not part of that life anymore, Hana’s fine.”
She says.
“Of course.”
He nods, looking over to Chuuya.
“You must be Nakahara, right?”
The red head nods, wrapping his arms around himself.
“I am. Chuuya’s fine.”
“Right,”
The man hums.
“My name is Tsukauchi Naomasa, I’m just here to ask you a few questions.”
The detective’s demeanour was calm, his eyes soft but they still held authority.
He looked back over to Hana.
“I’m afraid you can’t stay for this ma’am.”
“What?”
She spat, her voice sharp.
“Shouldn’t there be an adult here, besides you.”
“You’re a retired pro hero,”
Tsukauchi begins to explain.
“The question I need to ask will cover the USJ incident, civilian ears don’t need to know, not now, and unless you are Nakahara’s parent or guardian, you can’t stay.”
Hana stays quiet for a minute but she reluctantly rose to her feet, she gave Chuuya a reassuring nod before waking out.
“Before we begin.”
The detective turned back to the student, his gaze still soft.
“I’m obliged to tell you that my quirk allows me to tell if you’re lying.”
Dazai was right, he would be interviewed by this guy, now he just has to hope that Dazai was also right when he said that Chuuya could cheat this.
Just stay calm, he can lie his way through this if he needs to.
He nods, batting his eyes, trying to give off an innocent facade, he knew it worked when the man had to look away for a quick second.
“Let’s start simple,”
Tsukauchi says, pausing for a moment before continuing.
“Who was with you when the villains first broke in?”
Okay, a question he didn’t have to lie about.
“My class, 1A, Aizawa and pro hero thirteen, All Might showed up late.”
The detective nodded, he knew that was the truth.
“Alright, have you heard of the league of villains before?”
Shit, now he would have to lie, he had heard of those people before.
Just stay calm, keep your heart slow, your breath steady.
Did he have to lie?
They were a villain group and they probably would’ve been on the news before, even if he never watched the news.
He still had to lie but he can partly tell the truth.
“Yes, I’ve seen them on the news before.”
The detective nodded again.
“I suppose I should’ve known that.”
It worked.
Chuuya could cheat this!
A major flaw that he could exploit!
He had to force himself to not get a little giddy at that.
This made this interview much less intimidating, it wasn’t intimidating to begin with but now, less stressful.
“That group is getting more and more and more troublesome,”
The man huffs, rubbing the bridge of his nose before clearing his throat.
“Let’s move on. The villain that attacked you, do you have any affiliations with them?”
“No I don’t.”
Another lie that wouldn’t get detected, but sometimes he wished he wasn’t.
“Did they go after anyone else in your class?”
“No, I saw the villain run off and I didn’t see them until they fought me.”
At least he didn’t have to lie about this.
“You fought the villain?”
The detective tilted his head slightly.
Chuuya nodded.
“That’s how they stabbed me, caught me off guard.”
“That’s very brave Chuuya.”
Tsukauchi says, sounding impressed.
He sucked in a breath, clasping his hands together in front of him.
Tsukauchi asked a few more questions, Chuuya answered as honestly as he see fit.
Eventually the interview came to an end, the detective, thanked Chuuya for his time and walked out.
Now he was alone, perhaps it was time to do his own interview.
“Arahabaki.”
Chuuya said, trying to get the deity’s attention, when he got no response he pushed.
“Don’t ignore me.”
“I’m NoT iGnOrInG yOu.”
The Gods voice rung out through his mind.
“Don’t fucking lie to me.”
He hissed, clenching his fists in the bedsheets.
“When I don’t need to you to talk, you speak, but whenever I have questions you ignore me. So we’re gonna talk.”
“…AlRiGhT.”
Oh where to start.
“First of all, will these go away?”
He runs a hand over a spiral marking on his skin.
“I’m… NoT sUrE.”
Arahabaki says, their voice unnaturally soft.
Chuuya didn’t know how much he believed that.
“Really? It was your power that caused this.”
He mused, he heard the God sigh before it spoke more.
“YoU aRe ThE fIrSt HoSt I hAvE hAd, I aM uNsUrE hOw My PoWeRs EfFeCt YoUr BoDy.”
Chuuya covered his right eye, rubbing the skin roughly with his fingers, he blinked and he swore he saw a pure black hand hovering over his left arm, he blinked opening both eyes and it was gone.
What the hell was going on?
Whatever, at least something was answered, despite it being a shit answer, that also explained his other question, about drinking blood, if Arahabaki didn’t know how their powers worked on him, they also wouldn’t know how the human body healed.
He rested his hands in his head, blinking slowly.
“Chuuyaaaaa!”
He heard Denki yell as the curtains burst open.
Chuuya couldn’t even react before the blondes arms wrapped around him, Denki sobbed into the red head’s neck, falling to his knees and sniffling incoherent words.
It hadn’t even been ten minutes after school would’ve ended and he already had a visitor.
Izuku showed up a few seconds later, also crying as he hugged Chuuya tightly.
He saw a few more of his schoolmates arrive, Mina, tears welled in her eyes as she tried to stay somewhat composed, Momo as well, although she was managing much better then Mina was, Kinoko and Itsuka showed up too, hell even Todoroki made an appearance.
So many people came just to see him.
He couldn’t stop his own eyes from swelling up.
He did his best to wrap both arms around Denki and Izuku, allowing a few tears to fall from his eyes as he screwed them shut.
His friends managed to pull themselves away from the hug, they were still crying but their tears had slowed.
“You’re okay!”
Denki sniffed, his voice breaking.
“I-I thought you died! I-I..”
The tears began to pour from his eyes again, his hands shook as if they still held blood on them.
A harsher pang of guilt shit through Chuuya’s body, he knew exactly how much his act had affected Denki, he didn’t want to do that but he needed to do something to be convincing.
He pulled the blonde into a deep hug, an apology Denki would never hear.
They stayed like that for a few seconds before pulling away from each other, Denki’s head rested on Chuuya’s non injured side, the red head’s hand gently ran through the blonde hair in a comforting manner.
“We’re glad you’re alright Chuuya kun.”
Momo says, wiping a tear from her eye.
A unanimous nod echoed around the room.
“It’s good to see you guys.”
Chuuya says with a soft smile.
“How are you feeling?”
Mina asks, clasping her hands together behind her back and rocking on her heels.
“I could be better.”
The red head sneers with a grin.
“Hey, is there a sorts tournament coming up by chance?”
His schoolmates exchanged some Oddessa out glances but nonetheless one answered, Todoroki surprisingly.
“The sports festival.”
He says bluntly.
“It’s not far now.”
Chuuya nodded, a silent thanks.
At least he knew Dazai wasn’t bullshitting him.
Though, Hana was probably better to ask about it, she had gone through it before.
“Why do you ask?”
Todoroki asks, his eyes sharpening.
“I heard Hana talk about it and I was just curious.”
Chuuya says quite quickly, the split haired boy’s glare was intimidating, not that he was actually scared of it, no but he could pretend.
“Hana? Isn’t that the woman who was with you the time we hung out?”
Kinoko asks, leaning forward slightly with her hands behind her back.
“Yeah that’s her.”
Chuuya nods.
“That remind me!”
Izuku says abruptly, his eyes suddenly widening.
“I never got her autograph, I never got to ask her-“
“Okay… calm it down buddy.”
Chuuya frowns, interrupting his friend before he could ramble.
“Why would you want her autograph?”
Itsuka asks, an eye squinting.
“She’s a former pro!”
Izuku beams, clenching his fists together with joy.
“My mom was a big fan of hers, I wanted to get it for her as a gift, she could add it to her collection.”
“Damn, that nerdiness is genetic.”
Chuuya sneers.
“Hey…”
Izuku frowns, looking slightly offended.
“I’m only kidding.”
The red head snickers.
“I uh..”
Momo speaks up.
“Brought some cards, if you guys want to play.”
They all agreed and Chuuya managed to get them to play shithead.
The group caught on pretty quick, expect Todoroki who was a little slow but Chuuya didn’t mind re-explaining when he had to.
Notes:
