Chapter Text
It wasn't his intention to grab three different people. Hell, all he'd wanted was to sneak into the hospital to grab an unwanted infant, something he cold mold into whatever he wanted with ease.. But that's when his little girl pointed out three little people. Surgeons. It was far to risky to try and grab them without any sort of plan, and doing it straight in the middle of the NICU? It was almost a death sentence.. But that didn''t mean it was a no.
They'd have to make a plan, and she had to figure out what kind of pets she wanted to have once he grabbed them. The little scientist was certainly creative, she was his after all.
---
The suspicion begins to swallow everyone when there is no phone call from any of the three surgeons presumed missing. Nurse Dalisay Villanueva has tried to reach out multiple times, each resulting in their own failure that causes the pit in her stomach to sink further.
The police visit the hospital, the crime scene investigator going through the security logs, the footage that could possibly give some clue on what had happened to Saint Bonaventure's three best surgeons. The footage reveals three major details.
1: The suspect is a Male, approximately 5’11-6’2
2: The crime scene where the three surgeons were abducted is in the parking garage, on level C. Each of their cars had been parked together, because of the lack of spots in the main hospital parking lot. (Was the last bit relevent? No. Hawks had just rambled on nervously, wanting to help as much as she could.)
3: The suspect abducted Dr. Audrey Lim first at shift change (21:00). Then, He abducted Marcus Andrews at 00:00. The last surgeon was doctor Neil Melendez, who was taken at 08:30.
The three seemed to be injected with something before he pushed them off the frame of the camera, to where he presumably hid until he received all three of the targets.
After abducting Neil Melendez, a black car with four occupants was seen exiting the parking garage, with three wallets, cell phones, and keys left behind.. No fingerprints at the scene, the car had no identifying features.. They were all at a loss.
The devices had been found behind a trash can at the hospital exit.
The police were doing their best, and started with a list of the most recent patients all three surgeons operated on or had seen previously. The list was shockingly long, it seemed as if the three interacted frequently, work and home life.
Audrey Lim and Neil Melendez’ relationship was known, as was the beginning of Marcus Andrews’ divorce. The officers had split up, doing their best to calm down the large, worried group of people, the group included a large amount of hospital employees.
There was no sign. No registration to the license plate. Every lead ended up being a circle, right back to the list of patients.
—----
The first to wake up was Neil Melendez. On his neck, there was a small bandage with bruising around it from the initial injection of the drug used to knock him out. Something else weighted heavily on his neck, something tight. It felt like some sort of collar. He tries to pull his hands up, wanting to rub not only his eyes, but the drool off of his chin. He didn't know where he was, he didn't remember coming somewhere to sleep.
He tugs at his arms, but they refused to move. The jerk caused tension in the chains surrounding his wrists, not only that, but they were so incredibly heavy. As he managed to push them forward, he noticed the red indents the cuffs left behind. They were tight to the point where he couldn't escape.
On his left arm were several sets of injection points, little dots with bruising surrounding them at each vein. He was locked in a room, completely alone. In front of him was a table with bloody tissue, in the trash was empty containers. Each one seemed to be labeled with something different.. Some type of stem cell, extracted blood cells and DNA..
Anxiety burned in his chest, flickering around and causing the little spot on his neck to burn more. His ears were in some type of mold as well- it was heavy, pointed, and made it difficult for him to keep his head right up because of the odd weight and the pressure it put on his body.
He groans weakly, his head falling back against the wall as his eyes flutter shut once again. His brain seemed to be fused with fog, leaving him unable to think and even unable to dream. He could not escape, even in his sleep.
—----
“You're finally awake!” A sickly sweet voice says, her intentions masked with false innocence. The three surgeons could sense the bad around them, a sort of sixth sense they developed for when they interact with patients. It all felt wrong, the heavy feeling of their eyes and the weight around their necks, followed with the weight around their shoulders and ankles, keeping them in place with enough room to make them panic. The metal was cold and heavy, leaving indention marks and stains from rust.
The high pitched voice had made Neils ears ring, and something feels like its touching him, but he can’t move. The metal contraptions on his ears ache, making his head heavy. All he wants is to go home. Why him? Why Audrey? Why Marcus? He could barley keep his mouth closed- having to force himself not to allow such weakness- despite knowing all the things done to him while he was asleep. IT made him guarded.
The Latino couldn’t make sense of the situation. It was too confusing, and everything seemed to hurt. He could barley flex his arms, whatever drugs he'd been fed still flowing through his system.
Marcus had similar metal pieces on his ears, mimicking some type of mold, though his back was exposed with some sort of marking drawn on it- a stencil almost. Audrey had her own as well, with hers being long and round- she also had more injection points around her thyroid gland.. The lack of clothes they were wearing certainly wasn’t helping to hide from what this stranger was doing. Neil felt himself shiver despite the drugging, this place was freezing. The hair on his arms stuck up and under them were bumps as his body tried to warm itself.
Audrey Lim was wearing only a bra and underwear, Marcus only in his boxers.. Neil being in the same situation as him. All three surgeons felt vulnerable, their bodies aching and burning as it decided what to do with the serum they had been injected with. Out of the three, Neil had woken the earliest, the latino was given the lowest dose when they'd all been grabbed and contained like rabid animals.
“I’ve brought you three some breakfast. Daddy says the more you eat the healthier you’ll stay during this!” She chirps, her voice sounding light, carefree- and incredibly high pitch.
It was weird, Neil remembered a man who took him- but he also remembers long blonde hair. The man himself was wearing something to cover the identifying features, but his body type was not something he'd concealed. Strong, heavy hands and large arms had caught Neil and drug him down to the car before the needle stabbed at his neck.
Marcus Andrews looks defeated, and, as Neil looks over at Audrey he realizes she looks terrified. All three of them were starving, with it being over twelve hours since their last meals. Each one of their stomachs were beginning to protest the lack of food. Even if they could last days, possibly weeks, without food, that didn't mean it wasn't uncomfortable to do so. The burning in all of their stomachs as they all rumbled and growled, not used to the sudden void of food.
“Here you go.” She smiles as she sets the bowls out of reach, separating them. Each of them had different contents, though all were very similar
Audrey’s had a section of berries, some fresh lettuce, and an egg.
Neil had two eggs, a bigger section of berries, and some.. Honey?
Marcus had a large portion of chopped up- veggies and fruits mixed, bits of egg also in his,
She grabs the chain tying each of them down, knowing they were two weak to fight back, and secures them in their individual spots. Previously, before the new additions had woken up, she'd convinced her father put them closer together, she wanted her new pets to bond while their features develop. They needed to be inseparable, that way, one would never leave the others. The chances of them trying to create a plan and escape were high, but they were contained for now.
‘Fuck..” Audrey groans as she's dragged from the chain around her neck and hooked ahead of the other two. The tag on her collar read, ‘feline.’ Though out of all three of them none had noticed. They were too distracted. The concrete floor was hard and cold, a dull ache forming in their knees and backs from being held in this position. The collars felt heavier and heavier, never once letting up the weight.
Neil had yet to realize the ‘STAG’ tag hanging from his, and Marcus’ own read, ‘Avian.’
She giggles as she watches them begin to scarf down the heavily tainted food. It was all drugged and infused with things she didn’t quite understand nor did she care to learn. As long as she had her pets, she was content. Her daddy always got her what she wanted. Its why she already had a pet just like them- a beautiful bat hybrid. He was the first, the one no one else knew about. The first siccess of her fathers work as genetic engineer.
“Addison.” A male voice snarled from the top of the staircase leading down to where her three pets were. “What did I say about feeding them alone? I haven’t adjusted their doses and they’re becoming conscious.” He scolds her with a rather mean looking glare. All three of the human pets seemed to cower, marcus growling under his breath but not even attempting to attack. He couldn't, his limbs felt as heavy as a twenty-pound bowling ball and the collar tight around his neck threatened to choke him out with every movement.
The girl, recognized as Addison, deflates and juts out her lower lip, looking up at the man through fluttering eyelashes.
“Daddy, they won’t hurt me. They can’t, I mean, look at them! I don’t think they’ll need to go through as much training as our other pets, they're so well behaved.” She grins, before turning towards the three one last time.
“I’ll be back” She whispers to them before she scurries up the stairs, wanting to help her father feed the other pets.
Marcus, Audrey, and Neil share a look- dread and fear as they ponder their fate.
They only hoped someone realized they were missing before any permanent damage was done. They hadn't realized it was already to late.
