Among the cosmos, Viktor is awakened by someone calling his name.

Jayce, in tears, leans over the viewer in Viktor's POV. "Jayce?" asks Viktor.

Viktor sits up, and starts to ask, "Where--" Jayce interrupts, "It's okay. You're here now. That's all that matters."

Jayce offers a small, teary smile, only to lose his composure. The tears already gathered in his eyes start to fall.

Jayce suddenly climbs into Viktor's lap and wraps him in a tight embrace, crying. "I'm sorry," he says as he hiccups and sniffles.

Sobbing and still embracing Viktor tightly, Jayce says, "I'm so sorry for leaving you, V."

"I didn't want to go," says Jayce. Viktor listens with tears gathering in his own eyes. Finally, slowly he returns the embrace, saying softly, "I know."

"Oh, Jayce," says Viktor. He finally buries his face in Jayce's neck and clutches at him like he'll never let him go. A few of his tears float near him as he moves through space.

"My heart," Viktor whispers. He pulls back with tears in his eyes and cradles Jayce's face like something precious. Jayce continues to sob.

Viktor fiercely kisses Jayce several times as he continues to cry. Once on his forehead, once on his eyelid.

Viktor lavishes more kisses on Jayce. Once on the tip of his nose, once on his lips. More and more of Jayce's tears escape and wreathe the reunited couple. As if the stars themselves are slowly gathering to bear witness.

The fic title comes from the second to the last line of the original fic.

!!!!!! I am so glad that you put this on AO3 so that more people can see it! The way you captured their expressions in this genuinely tugs at my heart strings. It makes me revisit all the feelings I was feeling at the time I wrote the fic. The catharsis of seeing them cry in each others arms.... oh, it hits different. I truly can't wait to see how you end this!!
