Chapter Text

This October

We open with Lucifer joyfully flying through Pentagram City towards the Hazbin Hotel.

Two of the most powerful beings in the universe…

Lucifer: Never saw the sun shining so bright, never saw things going so…

The Imperial March starts playing on his phone.

…Are about to reconnect

Lucifer pulls his phone from his pocket.

Lucifer: That’s Heaven's ringtone. Let me just see when they want me at the Embassy and…

Lucifer catches sight of the phone screen and screams like a girl as the phone tumbles from his hand. He grabs it before the phone hits the ground and he visibly shakes with fear as he reads the message.

“We need to talk, -Michael

Charlie: Dad, everything ok?

Lucifer looks up at his daughter and panics internally.

Neither has spoken to the other in 10,000 years

In Heaven, Michael is in his office meeting with Sera Emily and Heaven's two newest uninvited guests.

MichaelSo I take it from your impassioned plea that you, High Seraphim Seraphiel, had no knowledge about Adam forging my signature onto the extermination order I had no idea existed until two months ago?

Emily, Sir Pentious, Sera, and a newly angelic Dazzle are sitting in front of Michael’s desk. All eyes turn to the High Seraphim, whose eyes are now wide open in unadulterated fear.

Sera: You mean you never authorized…?

MichaelNo, I never did.

Reginald, a husky angel dressed as a World War Two fighter pilot, and Michael’s assistant, gives a low growl.

Emily, Sir Pentious, and Dazzle share a nervous glance with Sera as the High Seraphim gulps realizing how screwed she is.

They Don’t Like Each Other

Michael is at his desk, talking to Molly with a picture of Angel Dust hovering before them.

MichaelSo, you still miss him?

Molly: He’s my brother.

Michael stares at her flatly.

MichaelThat doesn’t answer the question.

They Don’t Trust Each Other

Vaggie and Lucifer stand in Lucifer’s office arguing about Michael’s text.

Vaggie: You know Charlie is not going to shut down the Hotel. Even if Michael comes down here and puts the flaming sword to her throat.

Lucifer teleports two sinners into his office one is a German Shepard in a lab coat and the other is a lioness dressed a lot like Kate Beckett from Castle.

Lucifer: Detective Cleo Steele, formerly Chicago Homicide, now the unelected watcher of the doomsday district.

Cleo: I’m not interested in any “deal with the devil” nonsense.

Lucifer: All I’m asking is for a little help protecting this hotel. You do that, then any favor you can think of, name it and it’s yours.

Charlie opens the door and sees the meeting.

Lucifer: Charlie meet your new extra security for the Hotel.

Charlie: wait what?

But Now…

Michael stands in a hall of cosmic strings called the Nexus looking over the memories of the inhabitants of the Hazbin Hotel. He turns around and sees Lucifer standing behind him.

MichaelWhat are you doing here?

Lucifer: What am I doing here? What are you doing here?

The two charge at one another and get caught up in a fight.

…Things are About to Get…

The Nexus appears to shake like it’s caught up in a storm. Both brothers stop and stare up in concern.

…Complicated

Michael wakes up in Lucifer’s office, looks around confused, and eventually spots Lucifer’s reflection looking back at him from the mirror.

Michael screams prompting Vaggie to come in. Before Michael can say anything, Lucifer‘s cell phone rings, and he answers it.

Michael: hello?

Lucifer: What the fuck did you do Michael!?

Vaggie gasps and drops her spear.

Michael is practically hissing into the cell phone.

MichaelWhy do you assume this is my doing? You were always the prankster of us!

We see Lucifer in Heaven looking at Michael’s face in the mirror poking and prodding at the face as if trying to figure out if this is a joke.

Lucifer: Michael, you pride yourself on looking at the big picture. If anyone in Heaven or Hell finds out we swapped it’ll mean the all out war neither of us want.

MichaelSo what? Your plan is to go along with it and pretend you're me while I pretend I’m you?

A side-by-side comparison shows our two brothers ready to act as each other.

Lucifer: come on what’s the worst that could happen?

Lucifer strolls into the court of Heaven as every single angel turns to look at him.

Lucifer: What’s up, bitches?

Angelic eyebrows raise and frantic whispers spread throughout the crowd as Lucifer feels some sweat trickling down his back.

Gabriel an archangel who resembles a six-winged version of Stella with a kinder face, quirks an eyebrow.

Michael as Lucifer standing next to Charlie at the Hotel looking down at his phone.

Michaelwhy do I feel like I made a huge mistake?

They May Not be the Best Body Doubles

Michael is forced into a wall at the Hotel as all of the Seven Deadly Sins brandish their weapons at him.

Ozzie: What the fuck are you doing down here Michael?!

Michael dusts himself off and sighs.

MichaelThe words “Freaky Friday” keep popping up to describe our situation. Does that mean anything to you?

All this and share a nervous glance at each other than up at heaven, before groaning.

Lucifer in Michael’s body stands in a cathedral-like hall of burning candles being stared down by Azrael, the 6-winged raven Goetia-like Angel of Death.

Azrael: never once did Michael ever address me as ‘Raz.’

Azrael’s raven-like face fades into a skull as she leans in closer.

Azrael: You are not Michael are you?

Lilith holds a rubber duck in her hand as she stands in Michael’s office giving the duck a squeeze.

Lilith: interesting that you have a rubber duck that looks like my daughter, and one that looks like my husband‘s handiwork. Care to explain yourself?

Michael lying next to a collection of cosmic strings in the Nexus.

MichaelHow can we be this bad at this? We’re twins for Father's sake.

They May Not Have Everything Figured Out

Lilith sits on Lucifer’s lap while in Michael’s body deep in a kiss before Lucifer stops her.

Lucifer: hypothetical question, if a man makes love to his lawfully wedded wife, but happens to be in his brother's body at the time, does that count as adultery, or…?

Lilith looks down and then looks her husband right in the eye.

Lilith: No, you're right.  Better safe than sorry.

Gabriel and Uriel open the Door to Michael’s office as Reginald leads them in.

Lucifer: Lady Gabriel, Lord Uriel, to what do I owe the pleasure of my dear brother and sister…

Reginald: They already know about the swap, Lucifer.

Lucifer: REGGIE!!!

Gabriel: Don’t blame him, you weren’t convincing.

They May have a lot to learn

Cleo and Michael are sitting on the Hotel’s rooftop overlooking Pentagram City and sharing some beers.

MichaelYou know you’re not like the other damned souls in this pit.

Cleo: And you’re not the hardass I was warned about. Maybe you shouldn’t judge someone before you get to know them.

Michael and Cleo dance together in a Goetic ballroom in their finest as Ars Goetia and Charlie look on.

But while the road ahead might be rough

Lucifer acts as Michael standing before the grand court of Heaven, looking down at Lute while she is chained to the floor like an animal.

Lucifer: Lute you are charged with War crimes against Hell, sedition, and treason against Heaven, and 934 counts of Mass murder. How do you plead?

Lute smiles up savagely.

The only way they’ll see the other side

Cleo and Michael engaged in a sparring match with practice swords and spears sharing teasing smirks and heated glances.

Lucifer is Standing side by side with Sir Pentious and Uriel in side a lab looking at a glowing plant.

Is to See Through Each Other‘s Eyes

Lucifer as Michael receives a bow from a few angel passersby’s.

Lucifer: I could get used to this.

Valintino pulls a gun on Charlie only to empty the clip into Michael’s chest as the bullets fall broken and dented. Michael stares down at the bullet holes, his head slowly cranes up to glare at Val prompting the pimp to drop his pistol.

Vox is at the hotel door, waving goodbye.

Vox: Farewell Val, I’ll remember you fondly.

Introducing

Shohreh Aghdashloo

Azrael pulls out her scythe as she stands in the conference room of the overlords. The overlords draw back in fear, Michael offers a smirk while Charlie looks concerned.

Nicole Oliver

A hologram of Lady Gabriel stands before the denizens of the Hotel to make a great announcement.

Michael Shanks

Uriel and Sir Pentious pull up their goggles ready to test the contraption the glowing plant is inside of.

Reginald an angel dressed as a World War Two fighter pilot hops into a pilot seat in Sir Pentious redesigned warship.

Tabitha St. Germain

Cleo Steele embraces Michael with the excuse of fixing his posture as she teaches him to shoot. An act that does not go unnoticed by the Archangel.

And Tom Ellis

Michael as Lucifer holding a drawn flaming blade as a massive demonified Lute rises out of the floor of the Heavenly court.

Lucifer: Remember when you got pissed at me for letting dinosaurs loose in Eden.

MichaelYes.

Lucifer: This isn’t payback for that right?

Sir Pentious warship flying over Heaven firing at rogue Exorcists.

Michael looking down at Blitzø during his trial.

Lilith and Cleo fighting exorcists back to back.

Azrael sparing with Satan trading teasing smirks.

A blinding flash of light in the entryway of the hotel.

Lucifer, Michael and Charlie stand weapons ready against the supersized Lute.

Fly a Mile on My Wings

Michael in Lucifer’s body walks down a street in Hell with Vaggie tagging along.

MichaelAfter all, when in Rome…

He opens the door only to be faced with a tentacular horror with only its hundreds of eyed tentacles visible waving as it lets out a sanity-killing roar.

Michael slams the door shut, breathing heavily.

Michael: …head for the docks and catch the next boat out.

Notes:

This was another idea that just kept repeating itself in my head.

In large part this is kind of a response to the plentiful fics where the archangel Michael is the bad guy, this charming villain, this spiteful jealous caricature and honestly it got a little old. Hell is not good, it admits it is a shit hole filled with denizens who are there for a reason and despite Heaven being in opposition, the exterminations were kept a secret because Heaven would be disgusted that such sinful acts were committed, so I kind of got sick of the whole Hell Good therefore Heaven Bad narrative that I thought was unrealistic and not at all how the Hazbin Universe works.

So I was kind of inspired to present the Archangel Michael in a more heroic light, and I drew a lot of inspiration from the show Lucifer which is why I imagine Tom Ellis as the voice of Michael. This Michael is charming, gallant, noble, practically unstoppable in a fight, but has bit of a temper, absolutely cant stand the idea of a guilty person being free to harm someone again and has a bit of a big brother is watching you vibe. What really made this version of the famous twins work was that they compare themselves to one another and find themselves wanting. Lucifer was not the noble heroic knight of the realm the rest of Heaven loved in Michael and Michael was not the outside of the box force for creation that their father prized in Lucifer. There is a very real rift between the two, and that rift is partially responsible for the rift between Heaven and Hell. This is not a good vs evil conflict that will only be resolved with the complete extinction of the other side, this is a family drama where both sides need to heal.

So of course throw them in a Freaky Friday Scenario and that'll fix them right up.

Go ahead and tell me if you want to see more of this fic in the comments, I live for your praise.

Chapter 2: Character Spotlight Michael

Summary:

A little character spotlight for the Archangel of Justice, who finds himself recast as the King of Hell.

Chapter Text

Tom Ellis sitting on a stool offering a greeting wave.

Tom Ellis: hello everyone, my name is Tom Ellis, i’m playing Michael Taxiarch in the upcoming fanfic Fly a Mile on My Wings. Michael Taxiarch is the Archangel of Justice, the Right Hand of the Father, and most importantly, Lucifer’s twin brother. Where Lucifer is a lovable goof, Michael is more the regal galant gentleman.

Vaggie gives a one eyed glare.

Vaggie: Michael Taxiarch, Archangel of Justice, Enemy of Satan, Right Hand of the Father, Protecter of the Innocent and Prince of Heaven, is calling you up, a month after one of his underlings got stabbed in the back by our maid, and you don’t want us to worry about it?

Lucifer cringes a bit, but holds up his hands trying to calm Vaggie down.

Lucifer: I know this looks bad, but believe me, I can handle this.

Vaggie folds her arms and huffs.

Vaggie: Oh sure, let you handle it, after all, that worked out so well last time!

Lucifer: Hey!

Lucifer’s wings come out and his horns are showing and his eyes are red as he holds up a finger towards the former exorcist.

Vaggie immediately holds up her hands trying to backtrack

Vaggie: I’m sorry, that was out of line. It’s just…

Lucifer retracts his wings and horns, clearly the stress was getting to both fallen angels.

Tom Ellis: Michael is the undisputed protector of Heaven, mixing in the pure desire for justice from someone like Javert with the shear undiluted badass of John Wick.

Charlie stands outside of Lucifer’s office looking down at the hotel Lobby.

Charlie: dad, I get that you and this Michael have a…complicated history, but are you sure hiring extra security is necessary?

Lucifer: Charlie, this is the guy who burned Eden to Ash over a flower.

Charlie looks at her father.

Charlie: Really, a flower?

Lucifer: Well that and Adam couldn’t keep his fucking mouth shut.

Charlie looks on a little more nervous than before.

Tom Ellis: But despite that reputation, Michael’s primary motivation is the protection of the innocent. So even though, all these celestial beings have good reason to piss themselves and run from cover as soon as they hear “Michael’s heading your way and he wants to talk to you,” he’s actually a nice guy, and the best ally to have in your corner.

Tom Ellis gives a serious look and holds up a single finger.

Tom Ellis: Provided you haven’t harmed an innocent, that is.

Michael in his office in Heaven glares down at Sera, Emily and Sir Pentious watching anxiously.

Michael: Seraphiel, I think it would be wise for you to step back from your duties, at least until the extermination trials are over.

Sera bows her head.

Sera: thank you, Lord Michael.

Michael pulls out his sword.

Michael: As for you, Emily.

Emily gulps as a redeemed Sir Pentious holds her hand, ready to shield her with his body.

Michael: I think Hell could use a friendly face for future negotiations. After all, you were the one who was the most open to Princess Morningstar’s proposal.

Michael taps the flat of his blade against Emily’s shoulders like he was bestowing a knight hood on the young seraphim.

Michael: Congratulations on your promotion, Lady Ambassador.

Michael bows. Emily lets out a breath.

Tom Ellis: He has this interesting view of humanity, not really hating them, but he genuinely doesn’t get how contradictory mankind can be. To want to be good and worthy of Heaven, but still occasionally break the rules.

Michael in Lucifer’s body scratching his head trying to think of how to explain something to Charlie.

Michael: When you need to get to the lobby of this hotel in the morning, do you come down the stairs, or jump out the window?

Charlie: What?

Michael: That is the way Michael’s mind works. All decisions could be broken down to staying on the path, taking the stairs in this case, or straying from the path, i.e. jumping out the window and hoping for the best.

Charlie shakes her head.

Charlie: But not every decision is that black and white.

Michael: You think so?

Michael picks up Lucifer’s cane and points the tip at Angel Dust

Michael: Don’t become addicted to drugs, you will overdose and die young.

He points the cane at Husk.

Michael: Don’t become addicted to gambling, you’ll eventually take the wrong mob bosses money, and end up shot dead in the Nevada desert.

He points the cane at Nifty.

Michael: Don’t marry your abusive boyfriend, you will end up going mad and become involved in a grizzly murder suicide.

He points the cane at Alastor’s room.

Michael: Don’t become a serial killer, you’ll end up mistaken for a deer shot by a hunter and torn apart by his dogs, trying to hide one of your victims bodies.

He puts the cane down and glances at Charlie.

Michael: Need I go on?

Tom Ellis: So when the switch happens and Lucifer gets stuck in Heaven and Michael gets trapped in Hell…

Reginald a husky angel dressed as a WWII fighter pilot narrows his eyes.

Reginald: Are you quite alright, Michael? You’re not acting like yourself today.

Sir Pentious, Emily and Lucifer in Michael’s body all share a nervous glance.

Lucifer: Oh Reggie, you don’t know the half of it.

Tom Ellis: …Michael has to contend with some of the darker parts of his nature, it’s funny how he opposes both Lucifer and Satan, given that his two sins are Pride and Wrath.

Michael flapping his wings hovering in the court of Pandomonium with dripping lava illuminating the room, glaring down at Satan, as the rest of the Sins, Charlie, Fizz and Vortex look on like they are watching the the fuse burn down to the powder keg.

Michael: How can you not be as insulted as I am that this farce of a trial got this far out of hand!? If Michael were here…!

Satan stands from his throne fire and smoke billowing from his mouth as he roars.

Satan: Michael is not my King! And I find it distasteful that you can’t seem to remember that!

Yogirt: Easy Satan, take a deep breath…

Satan turns on the tiny demon, smoke drifting from his nostrils, flames dancing with every growled syllable.

Satan: I am breathing!

Tom Ellis: But he also sees first hand all the people Heaven has harmed, whether by direct action or his inaction, and he sees this as his opportunity to atone for allowing Adam the free reign he needed for the exterminations.

Michael standing in Lucifer’s office, his dress askew, his eyes bloodshot.

Michael: If I cannot figure out how to get this hotel to work…

Michael slumps to the floor.

Michael: …than what was this all for?

Cleo scratches behind her ears.

Tom Ellis: And maybe along the way, he will find something that he has been missing for the last ten thousand years.

Michael in Lucifer’s body, desguised as a hellhound, sits beside Cleo Steel in the front of a roller coaster as it goes up and up.

Michael looks around like a cat watching the flood water rises.

Michael: Explain again, how did I let you talk me into this?

Cleo offers him a flirtatious smirk.

Cleo: Because sometimes, we all need the fun of jumping out the window, Mikey.

The coaster reaches its peak and they both roar as plummet down the track.

Tom Ellis: Though he is still going to occasionally drop the hammer on any asshole who really deserves it.

Valintino pulls a gun on Charlie only to empty the clip into Michael’s chest as the bullets fall broken and dented.  Michael stares down at the bullet holes, his head slowly cranes up to glare at Val prompting the pimp to drop his pistol.

Vox and Velvette look on their jaws hanging open.

Vox: I would like to take this moment to say, I do not know this person, and he is in no way affiliated with the Vees.

The pimp turns to squeak at his traitor boyfriend.

Valentino: Vox?

Vox is at the hotel door, waving goodbye.

Vox: Farewell Val, I’ll remember you fondly.

Tom Ellis sitting on a stool waving his hand.

Tom Ellis: See you all, this October.

Notes:

Hello everyone.

As you may have noticed, this future fic has a lot of OC’s some of which were covered pretty adequately in the trailer, others I thought deserved more screen time. So I remembered how sometimes movies and tv shows would have these little vignettes with the actors talking about the characters they are playing and their role in the story so I thought, why not try something like that.

And in answer to your question, yes this is to get more eyes on this little piece as well as build an audience for the actual fic.

So we start here with the OC who gets top billing, Michael the Archangel of Justice and Lucifer’s estranged twin. I sincerely hope you enjoyed this little experiment and I really think I got his character down pretty well. This imposing pillar of creation who may not fully understand humanity but does actually care enough to try and help.

See the exterminations were allowed because Adam falsified Michael’s signature on the order, so he thinks that maybe if he hadn’t holed himself in his office and ran himself ragged watching Heaven and Earth like a hawk and trying to keep all of creation spinning, then maybe he could have prevented the Exterminations from taking place. As an Angel of justice, allowing such an injustice to occur, even if it was behind his back, it upsets him, and he naturally holds himself a little responsible for it even happening. So helping get the hotel off the ground, helping the sinners who are actually putting in the work to be worthy of a second chance, that is him in some way trying to atone for his inaction causing so much unnecessary suffering. I’m mean the guy was literally sent to Hell, inside a hotel who’s whole purpose is to redeem sinners so they may go to Heaven, so it’s only natural for him to think that he needs to redeem himself too.

If you want to see more character spotlights, please let me know in the comments. The next one is going to be Cleo Steel.

Chapter 3: Character Spotlight Cleo Steele

Summary:

A little character spotlight for the former chicago homocide detective, turned doomsday district warlord who finds herself in the center of an event that will redifeine Heaven and Hell.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Tabitha St. Germain is sitting in a chair, waving her hand.

Tabitha St. Germain: In life, Cleo Steel was a homicide detective from the great city of Chicago, and in Hell, she became a lioness sinner and one of the many Warlords from the Doomsday District.

Cleo is standing in Heaven in front of Lilith, holding up a single finger.

Cleo: One moment, your majesty.

Cleo shoulders a shotgun and empties a round right into an exorcist. She turns back to Lilith and offers a bow with a smile on her feline face.

Cleo: Detective Cleo Steele, at your service, your majesty.

Tabitha St. Germain: After being sent to Hell, she kind of let loose and became a little bit wild. She’s not afraid to say what she needs to in order to get the job done.

Cleo sitting in what appears to be a church pew with Angel Dust and Cheri Bomb looking over a spider crawling on her hand.

Cleo: I haven’t spoken to the big man since he left me down here. Figured he made his position clear.

She looks over at the artistic sculpture of the Savior on the cross.

Cleo: But…maybe…he’s trying to tell us he’s changed his mind about us?

Angel Dust: What do you mean?

Tabitha St. Germain: She is an interesting counterbalance with the archangel of Justice. If Michael is to by-the-book cop, then Cleo is the cowgirl cop.

Some sinner who looks a bit like a fish tries to pick the pocket Cleo only to be met with a Glock aimed between his eyes.

Cleo: Out of the goodness of my heart, I’m offering you one chance to just walk away.

The fishy sinner holds his hands up and backs off. Cleo puts the pistol back in her holster, rolling her eyes.

Cleo: Some people.

Tabitha St. Germain: She is brought in because Lucifer is afraid of what Michael will do to the hotel, and like any father, wants to make sure his precious little girl is protected.

Cleo straightened out her jacket at the top of the stairs well of the Hotel.

Cleo: Watch and learn, boss.

Cleo wraps her arm around Charlie.

Cleo: Charlie, I completely understand where you’re coming from. A grown woman, stuck with an overprotective father who doesn’t realize you’re not 12 years old anymore, believe me, I know exactly what you feel.

Charlie and Lucifer share a glance.

Charlie: Oh-Kay.

Tabitha St. Germain: Then she actually meets the guy.

Michael, in Lucifer’s body, glaring at Vaggie as he makes his way towards the door.

Michael: Like I would actually be wooed over by a pair of pretty eyes.

He exits the door right as Cleo was about to knock, trips and bowls over the sinner, landing eye to eye with Cleo. He immediately flaps his wings to get to his feet and offers the lioness a hand.

Michael: So terribly sorry miss, are you all right?

Stunted Cleo reaches up and takes her hand.

Tabitha St. Germain: She soon learns about the swap and decides to…use it to her advantage.

Cleo folds her arms and confronts Michael when they are alone.

Cleo: I’ll keep your little secret away from your niece, but it's going to cost you.

Michael rolls his eyes but contends to do what he must.

Michael: Very well, what favor can this humble Prince of Heaven grant you, Ms. Cleo Steele?

Cleo points up.

Cleo: Simple, all you have to do is help me be redeemed and get me up there.

Michael’s eyes widen. He stares up at Heaven, before looking back to Cleo nervous smile on his lips.

Michael: Right this moment, or can I have time to figure out the how?

Cleo quirks an eyebrow but smiles.

Tabitha St. Germain: The more they work side by side the more they seem to gel together. There is something about her that draws him in.

Cleo stands in the Court of Pandemonium before the seven deadly sins as Blitzø and Stolas stand trial.

Samael: Now, Ms. Cleo Steele, are you defending the defendant's blatant disregard for the laws about interfering in the mortal realm?

Cleo: Mr. Samael, all I am pointing out is, however unethical my client's actions may have been, Blitzø Buckzo’s business have not violated the laws that govern assassination businesses within the pride rin,g nor the laws that allow succubi and incubi to roam free on the earth, causing whatever mayhem they wish.

The crowd of Ars Goetia erupts in outrage while Michael watches from Lucifer’s throne, intrigued.

Tabitha St. Germain: There is something about him that draws her in

Cleo and Charlie are sitting alone on a training mat.

Cleo: I just can’t figure it out. He’s charming, he’s pleasant, attentive, and a hell of a lot nicer than his reputation would suggest.

Charlie smiles, unaware that she is referring to Michael, not her dad.

Charlie: A lot of people tend to be surprised by how dorky he is.

Tabitha St. Germain: They might not be the most obvious pairing.

Cleo and Michael dressed to the nines in a Goetia ballroom dancing upside down on the ceiling.

Cleo: You better not fucking drop me!

Michael: I assure you Cleo, you are completely safe in my arms.

Cleo: You can say whatever the fuck you want, my animal hind brain is screaming is I am very high up, and the only thing keeping my brains from being spattered all over the floor is a whim of a celestial being!

Michael, for his part, laughs before creating a platform of energy that they move to so they can be right side up.

Michael: Better?

Cleo flushes.

Tabitha St. Germain: And yet they connect like no one else.

Cleo and Michael are still in their ball regalia, holding beer bottles, looking up at Heaven as they sit on the roof of the hotel.

Michael: If only Father could see me now.

Cleo holds up her bottle.

Cleo: To the dads we disappointed!

Michael smiles and holds up his bottle.

Michael: And the scared children they left in their wake.

The two clank their drinks together in a toast.

Notes:

There we have it, Cleo's Spotlight. Sorry this took so long, other projects and all that. Now, if any of you have read my other fic, you might notice I have another badass feline sinner OC. I have no idea why this is a pattern for me, but I blame it on The Lion King.

So, Cleo is another interesting character especially since her background as a fellow arbitor of justice like Michael himself gives them a firm foundation for a deal, a friendship and perhaps something more. And she is also serving a roll as Michaels personal Lilith. See, Michael kind of has...issues, with the Queen of Hell, he kind of sees her as the tramp stamp bad girl who seduced his brother and convinced him to throw his life and family away for her, so there is some resentment and grief that our little archangel hasnt really worked through yet. But Cleo kind of forces him to ask the uncomfortable questions.

Why is this arbitor of the law down here in Hell in the first place?

Is this sinner, once you get past the bravado and understandable vitriol, a good person?

Is this sinner worth saving?

Can an angel of justice really fall in love with someone devine law has exiled to Hell?

Would he do anything different from his brother if it was Cleo standing before the court of Heaven having offered Eve the apple

And how much would Michael be willing to give up...to save her?

And oerhaos most importantly...since Michael is tipically in a humanoid form like Lucifer, and Cleo is basically a bipedal white lioness, does this count as HMOFA? And should that tag be added as a result?

Why don't you tell me what you think in the comments.

Next time, we zoom in on another Archangel, this time the Left Hand of the Father, the Law of Mercy to Michael's Law of Justice, yes i do believe I hear Gabriel playing.
