---The sun was shining in through the tall windows and I could see happy students, teachers, and residents of the school relaxing on the lawns and strolling around the lake. The youngest students I had were in their 20s since there hadn’t been any new mutants born in the United States since 2003. Anti-mutant movements had continued apace, despite all my efforts. Yet, the sky was still as blue and the birds still sang. I was always in awe of the fact that the natural world remained so remarkably beautiful despite the horrors of humanity; no matter what atrocities humans committed against each other, the sun always rose.---
