Chapter 1: Juntae and rigorous 5 AM studying
Chapter Text
Juntae never really cared for romance. Wait, that was a lie, he did care for romance. He craved it with every fiber of his being, his longing for love bleeding into the mangas he read (straight, bl, or gl, he wasn’t picky) and his observance of his friends. A better way to word it was that Juntae didn’t care for who he loved. Shy, proud, boy, girl, all he knew was that his love was boundless and wasn’t restricted to some weird rules about how you “have to” like opposite gender only. He never cared for that.
However, Juntae has the curiosity of a cat. He swears it’s going to kill him one day. Ever since Sieuns friend Suho had woken up from his coma, he’s and Sieun were practically glued together. The only time they were apart was when the latter had to go to school, and even then, Suho would always pick Sieun up from school. Juntaes pretty sure they even live together! He’s never been one to jump to conclusions, but if he had to guess, they (probably) liked loved each other.
Now he couldn’t be sure, and he couldn’t really talk to the rest of his friends about it either (even though it was 2024, it was still South Korea), but unlike his other friends Baku and Gotak, Juntae was used to observing. Before he met Sieun, when he had to endure the horrible torture of Hyoman and his gang, he had learned to be observant, to know when to defend himself and when not to, to know whether he was going to get beat…or even worse.
Luckily, he doesn’t have to worry about that anymore. Not with his amazing friends like Gotak that finally saw him as a person and not as a token to be abused. However that doesn’t mean he’s lost his observation skills. Suho had been accepted into the group quite warmly, with even Baku knowing how important he was to Sieun. Suho usually accompanies them on their adventures out of school, whether that be Karaoke bars or Baku’s Chicken, he was there, and after a while it felt right. Everyone was happy to have him, but Juntae knew that not even his,Baku, and Gotaks happiness could not amount to how happy Sieun was.
He’s pretty sure he’s seen Sieun smile like 5 times after Suho got discharged. 5 isn’t really a lot in theory, but since it was Sieun, it was definitely a lot. He’s not an idiot, he sees how close Suho and Sieun are, physically and emotionally. It’s like they have the same brain. They’re constantly touching, and a lot of the times Suho knows Sieun wants something without the other boy saying it, and vice versa. It was eerily creepy.
Juntae didn’t want to assume. Just because he constantly reads bl and that he likes boys himself doesn’t mean that the rest of his friends do. Hell, half of them could even be homophobic, he didn’t know. But the closeness of Suho and Sieun was something that would often linger in the back of his head, especially when he saw Suho eating out of Sieuns plate like it wasn’t out of the ordinary, and Sieun being completely fine with it. Or when he sees Suho picking up Sieun from cram school. And…and…honestly there were so many little moments that tied together that reaffirmed Juntaes intial ideas, but if he had to be honest, he remembers the specific moment when he realized how deep their love was for each other.
——————————————————
Juntae entered the school at 5:00 A.M. it was pretty early, considering the atmosphere outside was dark and cold, but if Juntae wanted to pass these midterms, he needed to GRIND. Sieun had promised to help him study for the math final, and considering Juntaes hatred for math and Sieuns love for it (or his love for studying in general), he had been quick to accept.
He quietly crept through the hallways, shivering under the jacket he had received from Gotak yesterday. Why was it so cold in here? Do they not use the AC? After lots of mumbled cursing and using his hands to feel where in the hell he was going, he finally made it to his classroom.
Juntae let out a sigh of relief and started inside, when he noticed tons of snoring. Huh. Maybe Suho was here with Sieun? He walked instead and froze at the sight.
“Baku?!”
Baku lay there in a desk, fast asleep and practically drooling all over his textbooks. For once he didn’t look like he was high off sugar, but the way he mumbled about “false acquisition” or “slam dunk” made it very clear that he was still quite active.
Juntae hadn’t realized the way his lips curled up until he started walking. God, how much he loved his friends. He wasn’t exactly sure why Baku was here, but he didn’t care. He was glad that someone was going to give him company until Sieun came. He glanced down at his phone quickly to see if Sieun had replied yet.
Juntae:
Hey Sieun! Just started, let me know when you’ll arrive (:
Read at 4:48 A.M
Ok… so Sieun had left him on read, not unusual for him, but ouch. Juntae decided in the meantime he might as well start studying (or end up like Baku while trying to study).
Juntae slowly walked to his desk, cradling his books in one hand and reaching for his chair with the other. He managed to grab his chair, but not before he dropped his books AND the chair make a horrible SQUEAK as Juntae pulled it.
“Shit.” Juntae muttered under his breath, as his eyes slowly flickered to where his once sleeping friend was now stirring back to life.
“Ah…Juntae-ya? Yah, what are you doing here?!” Baku half asked, half yelled. The grogginess in his voice and the way he was rubbing his eyes apparently had no effect on his volume control.
“Baku! Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you. I came here because Sieun offered to tutor me for the exam today. Though I don’t know where he is…” Juntae trailed off as he looked at his phone again. No messages.
“Pfft, it’s fine. I have to study anyways too. Sieun also said he’d help me with my homework.” Baku glanced down at the sheets scattered around his desk, shapes and numbers coating it. “Uhh…he said he’d help me with my geology homework.”
Juntae stepped a little closer so he could see the worksheets Baku was talking about. “Geology huh? I think that’s your geometry homework.”
Baku rolled his eyes but the sleepy grin on his face said otherwise. “Yah, why are you so mean! Also do you think you could help m—WHY ARE YOU WEARING GOTAKS HOODIE?!” Baku suddenly screamed, his eyes landing on the soft blue fabric wrapped around Juntaes small frame.
“A-ah! This?!” Juntae shrieked, “I-ts nothing, really!”
“GOTAK DOESNT JUST GIVE OUT HIS HOODIE FOR FUN!!! ITS HIS FAVORITE HOODIE TOO!!” Baku protested, pointing an accusatory finger at Juntae. Safe to say he was wide awake now.
“How did you manage to do it?” Baku squinted at him. He was trying to be scary, but Juntae thought he looked like an old grandpa doing that.
“Well, it’s really not that big of a deal. I slipped in mud yesterday so my jacket got really dirty and Hyuntak offered me his hoodie. I swore I’d give it to him tomorrow and he said okay.”
Baku groaned. “I swear he has a soft spot for you Juntae-ya. I bet it’s because of your baby face.” Baku grinned before pinching Juntaes cheeks aggressively.
“Yah! Stop-HAHAH-STOP IT!”
As soon as Juntae managed to get Baku’s prying hands off him, he noticed a light outside. Baku, eventually following the younger boys gaze, also noticed.
“Yah, I think Jesus is here to take our souls.” Baku muttered in awe. The light wasn’t that bright, really, but to be honest it was 5 A.M with a sleep deprived Baku, so his usual demeanor was even more unhinged.
Juntae smacked the back of his head (lightly, he wasn’t a monster), before trudging up to the window, Baku slowly following after him.
Truth be told, Juntae had forgotten about Sieun and their plan. He had been too busy with Baku and his accusations to worry about studying for midterms, but as he looked out, he finally realized what took them so long.
Sieun was on Suhos motorcycle, the shorter boy clinging onto the latter by his waist. Even though it was a little hard to see, he could tell Sieun was resting his head on Suhos shoulder. Once the motorcycle stopped, Suho quickly set it down before both of them got off. Suho reached over to grab his helmet off the others boys head. Once the helmet was off, even though Juntae and Baku were far away, he swore on every godamn manga he’d read that Sieun was looking at Suho witth so much love. He could practically feel the love seeping from his eyes, pouring over. Suho ruffled Sieuns hair gently before putting his helmet on and riding off.
At that moment, Juntae finally realized how deep their love was for each other. Suho had given Sieun the only helmet he had, too! That’s top tier boyfriend activity (which Juntae knows from his BL mangas). He had never seen anyone love as hard as those two. It was really sweet, honestly Juntae was kind of jealous. But with every sweet moment, it had to end.
“They’re so cute! Best friendship ever!” Baku gawked, flailing his arms around like he was swatting away bugs or something. Right, Juntae forgot Baku didn’t read as much BL as him.
Juntae smiled before he noticed the door to the classroom being opened. Sieun walked in, looking like he usually did, dead as ever. But there were two things Juntae noticed.
- Sieuns eyes sparkled with something Juntae could only name fondness.
- Sieun was wearing Suhos jacket.
Sieun quirked an eyebrow at them. “Were you two watching me from the window.”
Juntae quickly responded with a “No!”
At the same time Baku replied with a “Yes.”
Sieun sighed before placing his books down. That was their sign to go and FINALLY study.
Chapter 2: Hyuntak and extra neat notes
Summary:
“Wait, so if Suho is sick, why do you look so bad, Sieun-a?” Juntae suddenly questioned, squinting his eyes as if that would help him decipher the scene in front of him.
But wait…Juntae did have a valid point, why does Sieun look so bad?
Notes:
(:
Back with another chapter! This one’s like twice as long as the first one so you guys def have more to read
Also a fun fact no one asked for: this was actually my favorite chapter to plan. Hyuntak is my fav character and I had to really guess on a lot of his characterization unlike for Juntae and Baku
Ok I’m done yapping enjoy the chapter!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Hyuntak never really cared. I mean sure, there’s plenty of things he did care about. His parents, Baku, Juntae, Sieun, his grades, etc. But there were also plenty of things in his life he didn’t care about. Romance just happened to be one of them.
Hyuntak had never really been into girls, which is ironic because Baku clearly cares too much about girls, but alas, it is what it is. And did he care? Of course not. There were more important things to worry about than romance.
Another thing Hyuntak didn’t care about was his friends love life. I mean sure, he feels pity every time Baku gets another fake number from a girl, or curious whenever he sees Juntaes ungodly obsession with romance mangas. (How does he have EVERY SINGLE ROMANCE NOVEL TO EXIST.) But it was never his business, and he’d never force his friends to tell anything about their personal let alone their love life to him.
Now that doesn’t mean Hyuntak doesn’t notice things. Sure he may not be as observant as Juntae or Sieun, but unlike his 99 IQ friend he knows how to piece things together. He’s always known Suho had a special place in Sieuns heart (he literally visited Suho every single day for almost 2 years, that’s some crazy dedication), but he never knew Suho was that special.
Maybe he wasn’t that educated in romance, maybe he’s just hallucinating, maybe they just have a very special friendship. Either way, Hyuntak was certain that something had to be going on with his friends.
Hyuntak really liked Suho. Not only did they have many physical similarities (which was annoyingly pointed out by Baku of all people), but they overlapped a lot of the same interests. He had never met anyone as experienced in MMA as Suho, honestly it was kind of creepy. But as much as Suho enjoyed his company, he knew that no one’s presence could affect him as much as Sieuns.
Sieun spent every waking second in the hospital with him during his recovery, even during the difficult days (none of which he had attended but according to multiple eye witness accounts were horrible ). So it made sense that after Suho got cleared they were even more glued together. Half the time he could call Sieuns phone and expect Suho to answer it, and vice versa.
One other thing Hyuntak didn’t care about was the gender of love. He didn’t get why Juntae tried to hide his GL or BL novels whenever he came over, it’s not like he cares anyways, and he honestly didn’t get why Suho or Sieun were so afraid of being judged by the others.
Juntae reads BL, so he doubts he’ll judge, Baku is the sweetest ally anyone could ever hope for, so he also knows Baku would support, and Hyuntak? Hyuntak didn’t care. He would support them no matter what, even though he “wasn’t gay” (there are reasons why there are quotation marks around the last phrase, but the reason for them was something he didn’t really want to dive into at the moment).
Suho and Sieun? He guessed he’s always known. well always would be an understatement… but you get the point. I guess though if he really had to answer there was one specific moment he realized those 2 were more than just friends.
——————————————————
Hyuntak wasn’t sure why he was here.
He was surrounded by a never ending cacophony of shouts on one side, with the total opposite on his other side.
“ YOU’RE REALLY MISSING OUT JUNTAE-YA! SLAM DUNK IS THE BEST PIECE OF ART EVER!”
“I’ve never watched it so I can’t really say much, but if you think it’s good than it must be!”
“Nah, not really. Baku just says everything is good because he’s too much of a dweeb to say anything bad about everything.”
“DONT YOU DARE INSULT SLAM DUNK LIKE THAT! ALSO IM NOT A REEF!”
“Do you mean a DWEEB, you dipshit?”
“Tak-a just leave him alone…” Juntae said, however the faintest giggle could be heard behind it.
“I AGREE WITH OUR SWEET JUNTAE!” Baku yelled in agreement.
Hyuntak groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Ugh, fine, let’s just focus on the task at hand.” To be honest, he didn’t want to let go of the current arguement, but he did it for the sake of Juntae, and for the sake of actually doing what they’re supposed to.
“I can’t believe Sieun missed a day at school, that feels like it goes against the order of the universe of something.” Juntae rambled, grabbing onto Hyuntaks sleeve.
“I know right?! Who knew our little study machine could purposefully miss a day of school?” Baku mumbled in agreement.
“Speaking of him missing school, do any of you know why Sieun missed school?” Hyuntak mentioned. At that moment, all three of the teens realized something.
They don’t know why Sieun skipped.
“Dude, I totally forgot to ask!” Baku groaned, pulling out his phone immediately. The dozens of text messages that lit up on both Juntaes and Hyuntaks phones confirmed what they both thought Baku was doing.
Baku:
Dude
Sieun
Sieun
Sieun
Sieun
Ice princss
Pen mastar
Why arint u replyinggg
):
Hyuntak scoffed at the typos Baku made before closing his phone again.
“Jun, do you know why Sieun missed school today?” Hyuntak turned to the smaller boy, who was still gripping onto his hoodie sleeve.
“I…don’t know. I called Sieun this morning and he said he had something to take care of. He cut the call before I could ask any further questions.”
“WHAT IF THE UNION IS MESSING WITH HIM?!?” Baku suddenly gasped, going in front of the two other boys in an effort to protect them.
“Yah, are you stupid?! The union disbanded months ago, why do you always assume the worst?!” Hyuntak scolded, smacking the back of Baku’s head.
“Well it’s still a possibility!” Baku pouted.
The pair continued their bickering for quite a while before they made it to their destination. But of course, no one noticed but Juntae.
“Tak-a, Baku, we’re here.” Juntae said with a smile, slightly tugging onto Hyuntaks sleeve to get his attention. Which immediately worked, of course.
“Huh? Are you—oh yeah, you’re right!” Hyuntak laughed, ruffling Juntaes hair slightly before turning ahead.
“I volunteer to press the doorbell.” Baku said, at the same time Hyuntak moved his finger towards the doorbell to ring it.
“Yah, are you deaf?! I said I was going to ring it!” Baku yelled, swatting Hyuntaks hand away.
“Why are you acting like a kid! Just let me ring it!”
And just like that, 2 minutes of peace before Hyuntak and Baku were fighting like little kids again. Juntae sighed before he moved his free hand to press the doorbell, the loud sound snapping the other two from whatever fight was brewing.
The three silently waited.
No answer.
The second time, Hyuntak pressed the doorbell.
No answer.
Baku rang the doorbell a third time.
No answer.
“Are you sure this is Sieuns house?” Hyuntak asked nervously. He knew Sieun was infamous for often ignoring the group, but usually he would’ve opened the door by now. What if Baku was right, and Sieun had been taken by the Union, or even worse?
“Of course it is Tak-a. We’ve been here before, remember!” Juntae frowned, moving slightly closer to Hyuntak and tightening his grip on the taller boys hoodie as if to shield himself.
“It’s ok, maybe he’s sick or something and he’s sleeping.” Baku tried to convince them. “We can just give it to him tomorrow—“
At that moment, the door in front of him swung wide open, showing a disheveled Sieun inside.
Well, disheveled was putting it nicely. Sieuns eyes were dark, his hair was flying up in all directions, his lips were swollen, and his shirt slightly out of place. Damn, maybe he was sick.
Sieun looked surprised to see his friends here. And he made sure to voice it out.
“What are you guys doing at my house.”
“Yah, Sieun-a! We were worried about you buddy!” Baku said, aggressively ruffling Sieuns hair, as if his hair wasn’t already ruined.
Something in Sieuns eyes softened, but he still kept up his monotone voice.
“What do you want.”
This time, Juntae spoke up. “Sieun-a, I know that you’ve helped us a lot with studies and tutoring, so I thought that maybe I should give you my notes since you missed school today. I wrote extra neat and all, too.”
Juntae let go of Hyuntaks sleeve in an attempt to fish something out of his backpack. It would be an understatement to say Hyuntak felt a pang of dissapointment when he let go.
“Here.” Juntae gave Sieun a notebook with Cat stickers decorating the outside.
Sieun took it, his unusually expressive eyes showing his surprise.
“You didn’t have to do this.”
Juntae shook his head. “This is the least I can do after all you’ve done for us.”
Even though Sieun didnt smile usually, his eyes gave him away.
“…Thank you.”
Juntae gave him a cute smile in return (Well, in Hyuntaks opinion, Juntaes smile was very cute).
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Hyuntak cleared his throat.
“So…why weren’t you in school today Sieun?”
As if right on cue, a booming voice came from inside.
“Sieun-a! What’s taking you so long!” A voice no other than Ahn Suhos echoed through the quiet house.
Baku raised an eyebrow. “You didn’t tell us that Suho was here?”
It was a shock to all of them. After all, Suho’s place was pretty far from Sieuns mom’s apartment. But also at the same time, it wasn’t a shock to any of them. Suho and Sieun were practically attached at the hip. It was a known fact. The sky was blue, the grass is green, and Suho and Sieun are inseparable.
“I didn’t think I needed to.” Sieun calmly replied. At this point, Suho was making his way towards the entrance, and if Hyuntak thought Sieun looked bad, Suho was a whole other level.
“Sieun-ssi. Hurry up.” Suho pouted before laying his head on Sieuns shoulder, arms wrapping around his waist. Sieun didn’t even flinch.
“What’s up with him?” Juntae pointed at Suho.
“He’s sick.” Sieun stated.
“…How?” Hyuntak questioned.
“His medication for his leg has side effects, which includes him having a cold.” Even though it’s been 2 months since Suho was released with miraculously almost everything intact, he knew that Suho still struggled with his health.
“So he asked you to take care of him?” Baku asked. He didn’t seem accusatory, just…curious.
“Nah, Sieun is just an angel sent from heaven. He somehow knew I was sick and forced me to rest yesterday while I was doing my delivery rounds.” Suho casually said, lifting his head slightly from Sieuns shoulders to make eye contact with Baku. He then made eye contact with the notebook Sieun was holding.
“Yah, Sieun-a. Whose notebook is that?”
“Juntaes.”
“Why do you have his notebook?”
“He’s giving me the notes that I missed in class today.”
“Yah! Why didn’t you got to school today!” Suho scolded, nudging his face against Sieuns neck. “I told you to go! I could’ve taken care of myself!”
“No.”
“What do you mean by no!”
“I’d rather watch you than be worried about you all day.” Sieun flatly replied.
That brought some silence. They knew that Sieun did seriously care for people, but everyone knew that words weren’t his best way of expressing love. Suho tried to open his mouth to retaliate to Sieuns last statement, however he was cut off.
“Wait, so if Suho is sick, why do you look so bad, Sieun-a?” Juntae suddenly questioned, squinting his eyes as if that would help him decipher the scene in front of him.
But wait…Juntae did have a valid point, why does Sieun look so...messed up?
“Yah! Our sweet Juntae has a point!” Baku suddenly exclaimed, pointing a finger at both Suho and Sieun. “Are swollen lips a sign of a cold?”
Any previous warmth in Sieuns eyes immediately faded as soon as he heard Baku utter those words. Way to go Baku for saying the wrong things.
“I’ll see you in school tomorrow.” Sieun replied tersely.
“Yah! You didn’t answer Juntae or Baku’s questions!” Hyuntak retorted. He didn’t want this conversation to end so quickly, he had so many questions as well.
“Bye.”
With that, the door slammed in front of them.
The three other boys were left standing outside the apartment. Well…it was safe to say they were surprised. Like, really surprised.
Baku was just mumbling about how “Sieun was so cruel for not replying to his texts”, which caused Juntae to roll his eyes and smile.
However for Hyuntak, the wheels in his brain were turning. Sieun, willingly missing school just to take care of Suho? Obviously it’s natural to worry more about Suho and his health considering what happened to him, but still. It’s weird to see Sieun care for someone so much, to love someone so much that he misses the one thing he enjoys.
Unless…
Wait.
Was Sieun in love with Suho?
Actually, that makes sense. And looking at how Suho was practically cuddled against Sieun, he wouldn’t be surprised if the feelings were reciprocated.
Good for them. Hyuntak thought to himself as he,Juntae, and Baku somehow returned to the topic of Slam Dunk. God, Sieun was lucky he wasn’t here right now listening to Baku’s tangent about some “hidden lore” and was instead with his boyfriend(?).
Good for them.
Notes:
Comments and kudos are appreciated (:
Have a good day/night!
Chapter 3: Baku and the post sugar high
Summary:
“…You just hate to see me sad, don’t you Sieun-a?” Suho grinned, clearly forgetting about what the five just witnessed mere minutes ago.
“Ahn Suho.” Sieun warned.
Notes:
Back at another chapter!!!
This one was actually my favorite to write, I had no plan whatsoever for this chapter unlike all my other ones so I was making stuff up AS I was going, and I really hope I captured Baku’s personality in this. It was hard for me to think of a moment where it was obvious enough for Baku to see it but also not too obvious. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter as much as I have!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Baku is extremely loyal. That was something everyone knew. Sure, if someone were just existing and not doing anything bad, Baku would still protect them. That’s just the type of person he is. But he knows he would cross a million lines to protect the people that he love.
He’s never been much of a judger, either. Baku has done some crazy shit and wouldn’t blame anyone else if they did crazy shit. Sure, he might tease, but that doesn’t mean he would think badly of someone just for their…sexual orientation or something. (Which totally wasn’t targeted to his current situation, like at all.)
No, Baku is honest. He won’t lie to himself. The sexual orientation jab was totally targeted . I mean, he can’t believe that Sieun and Suho hadn’t told them yet! I mean, it is just a hunch, but he’s pretty sure he doesn’t look at any of his friends like Sieun and Suho look at each other. He honestly felt a little sad. Did they think he was homophobic? In which case was not true at all. He was loyal to a fault, and if that meant attending every pride parade in South Korea to show his unwavering support, then so be it.
Did they think he was homophobic because of that one time when Baku called Sieun an asshole for not coming to pick up girls with him? In his defense, he didn’t know Sieun was head over heels in love with a comatose guy, or that Sieun probably didn’t even like girls in general. Also, neither of the three boys knew Sieun well enough to know that his “ice princess” thing was just how he is.
Baku had never considered the possibility of Suho and Sieun together. But now that he thinks about it, like really thinks about it, he can’t see it any other way. He swears that both of the boys can practically read each others minds! He’s not making this up, he’s seem multiple occasions where Sieun gives Suho food he never asked for in the first place. And somehow Suho still eats the food like it’s most precious thing on earth.
Another thing he’s failed to notice but has noticed now is that all of the “boundaries” none of the 3 ever dared to cross with Sieun, Suho somehow managed to cross them multiple times. Suhos constantly touching Sieun, ruffling Sieuns hair, hugging him, always looking over Sieuns shoulder, etc. if any of the other teens did it, they would at least get a death stare sent their way. But with Suho? Sieun doesn’t even seem to mind. No, even worse, he seems to like it.
Ugh, talk about boys in love. Well, actually, Baku would rather see lots of annoying PDA than neither of boys even admitting they’re in love. He knows he’s not as smart as Juntae, or Sieun, or hell, pretty much everyone in the group. But that doesn’t mean he’s stupid. That’s a common misconception people have. Just because he has a 99 IQ doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a…wait, what was that word Sieun used to describe his intelligence. Devotion intelligence? Oh well, Sieun said he had a high whatever the other smart is called.
He really likes Suho. He can see why Sieun likes him. Suhos funny and loves food, and is honestly Baku approved. He hopes he can show to both of them that he isn’t homophobic and will support them as much as the typical ally does (maybe even more). Unfortunately for him, he can’t say that he’s always had a feeling about the two, like Juntae, or say that he’s always known, like Hyuntak. But because of this, he does remember the exact moment the realization of them being in love hit him like a truck. (Not literally, obviously. If a truck hit him, then Baku would be in the hospital right now.)
——————————————————-
“Guys, no matter what, don’t let Baku pick out a movie.” Gotak warned to everyone from his place on the sofa.
Since midterms were finally over, everyone had insisted on a celebration party (well everyone but Sieun insisted). Suho had been quick to offer his place for a movie night, saying that his grandmother is really chill (which she is), but Sieun refused. (“You’re not even in school anymore.” Sieun grumbled, swatting Suhos face away from him in disapproval.)
Baku’s place was a no go, for obvious reasons. Gotaks sisters were visiting for winter break, so his place wasn’t available either. Juntaes grandparents were also flying in for winter break, so he also said he couldn’t host it. That left only Sieuns place (and also Suhos, but Sieun didn’t want to hear any of Suhos convincing).
Eventually, Sieun begrudgingly accepted, allowing the teens into his apartment with lots of “you better not act like animals in here,” or “if you don’t clean up after yourself I swear”. It was also nice because his parents are usually never home. (He knows Sieuns mom works abroad, and he has no clue about Sieuns dad, the boy won’t even utter a word about him.)
So here they were, Sieun and Suho sitting on the smaller sofa, way closer than they should be. Juntae and Gotak sprawled across the larger couch, also way closer than they should be. And Baku, poor Baku, was outlawed onto the floor by unanimous decision.
And to make it worse, Gotak dissing his movie taste? Man, Baku thought they were bros!
“Thanks GoGo, love you too I guess.” Baku grouched, crossing his arms over his chest. Gotak flipped him off in response.
Suho let out a loud chuckle before being elbowed by Sieun, in which he almost turned quiet. Key word, almost .
“Man, I just love seeing Hyuntak-ssi and Baku fight.” Suho wheezed out, still trying to catch his breath from all his laughing. Baku rolled his eyes at the remark.
“Guys, we’re missing the point! We need to pick out a movie!” Juntae complained, or at least that’s what Baku thought he said. It’s hard to understand Juntae when he has 3 handfuls of popcorn in his mouth.
Sieun grimaced at the sight. “What have I said about taking with your mouth full.”
Juntaes face turned into a deep pink. “Sorry, Sieun-a.” Juntae grumbled, the popcorn pieces around him falling from his mouth as he talked.
At least one upside of Baku being banished to the floor is that he gets a whole popcorn box to himself. He can’t imagine Sieun or Hyuntak are getting much popcorn as Suho and Juntae alike are like monsters eating all the popcorn. Oh yeah,
another benefit is that he has all the room he wants without having to worry about elbowing anyone else.
“I’m just saying, if we watched Slam Dunk all of this arguing wouldn’t have even happened.”
“OH MY GOD, BAKU. NO ONE HERE WANTS TO WATCH SLAM DUNK!!!”
“WELL I DO!! ITS PEAK!”
“ONLY THING THATS PEAK WAS YOU WHEN YOU WERE SEVEN.”
“Tak-a, let’s stop, I really want to watch the movie with you guys—“
“NO ONE DARES TO INSULT MY SLAM DUNK LIKE THAT.”
“YOUR SLAM DUNK?! YOU DONT OWN IT!!”
“Tak-a…”
“WITH HOW MUCH I LIKE IT I MIGHT AS WELL OWN IT!”
“OH MY GOD—“
“Stop fighting otherwise we’re never having a movie night today or ever.” Sieuns cold voice suddenly cut through the argueing. Everyone went quiet. Even Suho, who was trying his best to hold in a laugh.
“…Sorry Sieun-a.” Gotak and Baku both apologized at once.
“Ok…anyways back to the movie!” Juntae exclaimed, trying to relieve the tension from the previous arguement.
Since Gotak had the remote, he mindlessly scrolled through titles on the streaming platform Sieun had.
“I heard Young Adult Matters is good.” Gotak suggested.
“Absolutely not.” Suho shuddered, “Watched it with Sieun, I still haven’t recovered.”
“It wasn’t even that sad…” Sieun muttered.
“What about 20th century girl?” Gotak questioned.
“Yah, are you trying to make us depressed?!” Baku retorted. “That movie made me cry for 2 hours and you know it because you were there to see it!”
“You’re right…” Gotak mumbled, continuing to sort through titles.
Finally, they seemed to land on a happy movie.
“This one’s in Mandarin, but we can turn on Korean subtitles.” Gotak explained as he clicked on the title to expand the summary.
“Huh. Your Name Engraved Herein. I could use some romance, since I can’t get any in real life.” Baku joked, jabbing Gotaks leg. Gotak then proceeded to kick him.
“Yeah, the summary seems pretty good. What do you guys say?”
“This looks fun. I wanna watch it.” Suho piped up from his place on the couch, arm casually slung over Sieun. And of course, Sieun seemed to not mind it.
“Ok.” Sieun stated.
“…I don’t know.” Juntae sighed.
Obviously everyone was surprised. No one had been expecting Juntae, of all people, to be hesitant about watching this movie.
“Why not?” Gotak carefully questioned, turning his face towards Juntaes.
“Is it because it’s gay?” Sieun accused.
“Yah, why would it be because of that? He reads all those gay books.” Baku vaguely gestured.
Juntae blushed again. “Well, yeah, Baku is right. Even though I’m not sure how he knows that.”
“A man can observe!” Baku defended.
Juntae rolled his eyes playfully before he continued. “It’s just because I’ve heard it’s really sad, and I don’t know if I can handle sad.”
“Yah, I bet whoever told you that was lying.” Suho explained. “It says here that they fall in love amidst difficulties, so it’ll be a little sad, but it will mostly be happy romance.”
“Are you sure, Suho-ya?”
“Positive, Juntae-ya.”
“Hey, Jun.” Gotak softly smiled before clicking the play button. “If you don’t want to watch this, you don’t have to.”
“No it’s okay. I think I want to watch it.” Juntae smiled back in return. Gotak slightly nodded before pressing play.
“WOO!! I CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM FALL IN LOVE AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER!” Baku yelled, pumping his fists in the air.
“Shut up. The movie is starting.” Sieun said, curling up slightly closer to Suho in the process.
——————-
If Baku learned one thing from today, it’s that Suho is a liar.
A big, fat liar.
The end credits finally rolled on the screen, but the room was anything but silent.
Baku was hysterically sobbing like a baby, wiping his tears with the blanket he hoarded near the beginning of the movie.
Juntae was ugly crying into Gotaks shoulder, as Gotak attempted to rub soothing circles into the formers back to calm him down.
Gotak wasn’t looking too good himself, either. He had tears spilling from both of his eyes at an alarmingly fast pace.
Suho also was like Gotak, just with fewer tears and more angry shouts like “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS IS A TRUE STORY?!” or “I THOUGHT THIS WAS GOING TO BE HAPPY!!”
Sieun grabbed Suhos arm for emotional support. He wasn’t crying, but his usual sad eyes looked even sadder, along with the fact they were glossy.
It took around 10 minutes for everyone to calm down from the horror movie they’d just witnessed. Actually, Horror was putting it nicely.
“I wish I had a bottle of soju, then I could at least pretend to forget about this movie.” Suho sighed, as Sieun wiped his dry tears off with Sieuns shirt sleeve.
“Yah, don’t be stupid. You can’t have it anyways as part of your treatment.” Sieun replies, Stil continuing to wipe the tears off Suhos face.
“How do you know?”
“I read the discharge papers. You arent allowed alcohol and any drugs other than the medication you’re on now.”
“Yah, why did you read that! I didn’t even read it…”
“Now shut up and keep your face still so I can clean it up. Your face is annoying me.”
“You’re only cleaning my face cause it annoys you? You just hate to see me sad, don’t you Sieun-a?” Suho grinned, clearly forgetting about what the five just witnessed mere minutes ago.
“Ahn Suho.” Sieun warned.
Even though Sieun only said his name, it sent chills down Baku’s spine. Why was Baku getting scared? He bets 15 bucks that Sieun doesn’t even remember his full name.
If Baku was scared, Suho was petrified. He immediately shut up and angled his face towards Sieun so Sieun could clean his face up. Sieun was surprisingly delicate. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s 1 AM right now, but Sieun just seems a lot more…alive.
“Since that movie scarred us for life, I request an emergency slumber party!” Baku stated, trying to shake off the sadness from that movie.
He turned to Sieun. “Do you have any alcohol in this house?”
Sieun glared at him. “Park Humin.”
Ok, so Sieun apparently does know his full name! Baku doesn’t know whether he should be glad or terrified, so he immediately sat down like an obedient puppy.
“I do agree with Baku, though.” Juntae quietly said from his place on the couch. He was slightly hiccuping because he cried so much, but he seemed to be doing better, resting his head on Gotaks shoulder as Gotak wrapped an arm around the smaller boy.
“It’s getting late, so I think we should crash here. IF it’s okay with Sieun of course.”
“Whatever. Extra pillows and blankets are in the storage closet.” Sieun told them, to which Baku immediately went and opened the door to the…bathroom?!
He really didn’t want to bother Sieun, after all Sieun was being so kind to them and offering them a place to sleep, but also he had no clue where the hell the storage closet was.
“Uhh…Sieun-a? Where’s the closet again?”
———————-
After Baku asking around 40 times and Sieun getting annoyed enough that he threw popcorn at Baku, he finally found the pillows and blankets. Once everything was set up, instead of sleeping, they decided to tell each other scary stories, to forget about what monstrosity they had just witnessed.
Or, correction. Suho decided that. As Suho was telling a ghost story where the main protagonist drowned or something, (Baku doesn’t really remember, the details of that night were fuzzy to him), Baku ventured into Sieuns kitchen. He (unfortunately) didn’t find any booze, but he did find a lot of candy…
Gotak says Baku gets more high off of sugar than actual drugs sometimes, which must be true.
I mean, that would explain why Baku woke up at 5 AM with pink paint on his hands, his stomach genuinely about to explode, his mouth dry, 3 blankets wrapped around him, and no memory of the past 4 hours.
Ok, no time for panicking. Baku had to handle one problem at a time. First, the three blankets enclosing him. Baku managed to get them off after many sighs and a lot of squirming. They all gracefully fell off Baku as he stood up. Baku was about to celebrate his early success, however the growling in his stomach got worse. He moved onto the next problems. His upset stomach must’ve been from eating all that candy, however he still doesn’t remember how the pink paint ended up on his hands. Both of those problems would be solved if Baku goes to the bathroom, so he decided to move towards it.
As Baku was making his treacherous trail to Sieuns bathroom, he almost stumbled over someone. Or some people.
Juntae was curled up on his side, sleeping like how a baby sleeps in a mother’s womb. Gotak was sleeping in a way that he and Juntae could make a plus sign, (if Baku squinted of course), Gotaks legs draped over the smaller boys waist.
Even though he couldn’t see much in the dark, Baku could make out two very distinct handprints on both of the teens faces.
A pink handprint.
Baku was utterly confused. Where the hell did he get pink paint, and why did he put his hands on BOTH Gotak and Juntae? Well—he gets Gotaks—but not Juntae. Juntaes as sweet as candy! (Baku stifled a laugh at that thought.) Yeah, he definitely needs to get this candy out of his system.
After stumbling over the boys, Baku continued his quest to the bathroom. He thought he finally made it, seeing the bathroom door that Baku opened earlier, and Baku almost let out a sigh of relief when he opened it and it was the actual bathroom instead of the storage closet or something like that. He relieved both of his problems in there and got out.
Ok, so Baku knows never to eat candy at 1 AM, because it ends with a upset stomach, pink hands, and a dry mouth.
Speaking of his dry mouth, Baku had one last problem to solve. But as he was walking toward the kitchen, something caught his eye.
A door, slightly ajar.
Now, Baku had no idea if he had seen that door before, but all his sleep deprived and post sugar high brain could decipher was that he should check it. Not like Suhos ghost story scared Baku—he barely remembered it—but he should still check. For the safety of him and his friends of course.
He slowly creaked the door open, expecting some pale looking girl with wet hair and a white dress to appear, but what Baku saw instead was even more unexpected.
He stepped into what appeared to be Sieuns room, with study books stacked meticulously and a nightlight near the desk still flickering with life. Sieuns bed would also be really tidy,if not for the two human beings inhabiting it.
Sieun was curled into his bed, trying to make himself smaller, as Suho slept next to him…wait…no. Suho was under Sieun. Sieuns head was on Suhos shoulder, half his body on top of Suho, and the latter clung onto the other boy by his waist.
Baku had never, ever, never seen his friend so vulnerable. Sieun wasn’t even frowning. His face was the most relaxed Baku had ever seen, with even his lips slightly tugged up.Suho looked equally, if not more content.
Now that Baku thought about it, he realized that he didn’t see either of the other 2 boys as he was making his way to the bathroom. He only saw Gotak and Juntae. Also, why didn’t Suho and Sieun have pink paint anywhere on their body? Better question, Why was Sieun in bed with Suho of all people instead of on the floor like all the others?
Baku has no sense of personal boundaries, but he thinks that this was too much of a personal moment for him to see. Seeing Sieun practically cuddle his other friend was not a sight Baku was expecting to see. He blinked his eyes 3 times while confirming that It’s not the sugar getting to his head.
Suho slightly shifted, causing Baku to snap out of whatever trance he was under while looking at the two sleep. (he knows it sounds weird, but he’s not a creep!) He finally exited the room, leaving the door the exact same length he had found it. After that, he practically rushed to the kitchen. He was feeling too lightheaded due to what he saw.
As he was taking a long sip of water, he pondered about the two. He knew Sieun had a special place in Suhos heart, but even he knows Sieun wouldn’t cuddle with his best friend like that. Baku knew Sieun well enough to know that Suho must mean something deeper, more emotional. Well, how much more emotional could they get from being best friends?
Unless…
(Oh.) Baku thought. They must be dating. This realization took Baku by surprise but also allowed him closure for all of Sieuns weird behavior with the other teen.
(Maybe they’re in love.)
Now that thought was sudden, and threw Baku off. Figuratively and literally, as he forgot to look where he was going and ended up tripping over Juntae and Gotak. Which also consequently woke them both up.
“Ah, Baku, what’s going on?” Juntae sleepily asked, wiping his eyes as he slowly opened them. He looked so silly without his glasses on. Baku thought he looked like a cute child.
“I swear to god, Baku, if you’re still high off those candy bars I’m going to kill you.” Gotak groaned, taking his feet off Juntae and sitting cross cross applesauce.
“I have no memory of the past 4 hours.” Baku chirped cheerfully. He felt a little better after drinking water (and his realization).
“Of course you don’t.” Gotak murmured, running his hands through his face to wake him up.
“What do you want to know?” Juntae questioned.
“I have 2 questions.” Baku signed with 2 fingers in the air.
“One, why do we all have pink paint on our body?”
“Long story.” Both Gotak and Juntae deadpanned.
Baku rolled his eyes at this answer, though he doubted anyone saw it cause of how dark it was.
“And two. Are Suho and Sieun in love?”

Chapter 4: Sieun, Suho, and the Confrontation
Summary:
“AH I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!” Baku suddenly screamed, pointing between the pair rapidly. “This has been in my mind for a long time, and I’m not the only one.” He nudged his head towards Juntae and Hyuntak, who immediately nodded their heads in agreement.
He narrowed his eyes as his eyebrows furrowed. “And as much as we think we know the answer, we still need to hear it from you. Are you two fucking?”

Chapter Text
Sieun has plenty of things to love. Even though he’s always been known as the “ice princess” and has a solid “I don’t care” attitude, he truly cannot be more grateful for where he is now. Even though he doesn’t show it, the new group of friends he’s made at Eunjang have helped him so, so much. Them helping him crawl out of his depressive state and always being there for him, Sieun cannot fathom how grateful he is. Even if Baku says the wrong things at the wrong time, even if Hyuntak loses his temper way too quickly, and even if Juntae constantly stuffs his mouth with food while talking (gross).
Sieun is also grateful for his grades. His grades have significantly gone up ever since Suho had woken up.
Right, the thing he was most grateful for was Suho. He’s glad Suho had finally woke up because Sieun wasn’t sure if he had the guts to wait another day. (He did, he just refuses to accept the fact he’s waited longer for Suho than he has known the boy.) Ever since Suho woke up, Sieun had practically been glued to his side. He refused to let Suho out of his sight for more than 5 minutes. Maybe he was afraid the boy would suddenly vanish and turn into dust if Sieun looked away, but he also knows that he (begrudgingly) admits he enjoys Suhos company.
It was even better when Suho got discharged. Suho made up his time lost in a coma by being with Sieun every second of the day, apart from school of course. (Suho and Sieun had their first arguement about Suho not going to school, Suho said he would be fine, and Sieun wanted him to just try. Suho usually folds under Sieun, but he wasn’t budging this time. Suho made it up to Sieun by bringing him food and offering a movie night.)
Suho picked him up from school daily, (He rode the bus with Baku in the mornings), and either Suho took Sieun to his place or he ended up staying at Sieuns. Most of the time, they end up falling asleep together too. Sieun can’t even begin to count the number of times he’s woken up to Suho spooning him.
Sieuns not an idiot. He knows he’s in love with Suho, and he knows Suho is in love with him too. For a long time, Suho and Sieun were trapped in this delicate dance of “more than friends but not quite lovers” trope. It was very annoying, honestly. Sieun never really expected the rhythm to change, until a day filled with rain, sickness, and love confessions took place.
Sieun doesn’t really want to get into the details. They’re long, too long. To sum it up, Suho and Sieun confessed feelings for one another in quite a weird way. At least they knew they were in love with each other.
One thing turned into another, and Suho ended up staying the night at Sieuns house. (They spent the night watching movies and cuddling you weirdos -_-). The next day got a bit more intense. Even with Suhos horrible leg cramps and slight cold, they still managed to make out on Sieuns couch (even Sieun was surprised). However, like every good moment, it had to end.
(Though he was grateful for the notes Juntae gave him.)
His friends, Hyuntak, Baku, and Juntae have been acting quite weird lately. Not like their usual weirdness, but something else he couldn’t quite put his finger on. He just assumed they were acting weird because of Baku’s sugar high at the slumber party recently, but their weirdness seemed to be directed at him. (Yes, he did ditch Hyuntak and Juntae at 2 AM opting to cuddle with his boyfriend, but seriously?!)
Suho and Sieun alike had no reason to tell people about their relationship. Not that either are ashamed. Suho is the most openly bisexual man on the planet and everyone assumes Sieun is asexual or gay. (They’re right about the not liking girls aspect.) It’s just an unspoken rule between them to not tell anyone, after all they’re barely figuring their relationship out themselves.
But like Sieun mentioned before, he’s not stupid. He notices Baku’s extra long stares whenever he’s eating lunch with Suho, or Juntaes giddiness when Suho picks him up on his motorbike, Or Hyuntaks quiet yet noticeable scoffs when Suho comes closer to him.
Did they know? Sieun doubted it. Even if they act way too much like a couple, he knows his friends aren’t smart enough to notice such a thing. He was also pretty sure they were homophobic, (what else was he supposed to assume? It’s Korea for gods sake), until the movie night at his house a couple of days ago. Even with that, Sieun was positive they wouldn’t find out.
…
Unless they’ve already found out.
——————————————————
Suho is a very laid back person. Obviously his exception being beomseok and anyone who tried to hurt his boyfriend.
Oh right, he has a boyfriend!
Suho is super glad Sieun is in his life, it’s like Sieun lights up his soul. When they had finally got together, it felt so natural, like 2 puzzle pieces sitting together. Sure, it’s still a little awkward, (as any beginning for a relationship), but the pure bliss Suho gets from this relationship definitely outweighs the awkwardness.
Since Sieun had spent so long waiting for Suho, it was only fair for him to make up all that time by staying by Sieuns side, like, every second of the day. Sure, he could’ve gone to school with Sieun, even though he would be at least 2 years behind. He was already on the verge of failing before he went comatose! But also, he knows he could have so much more potential helping his grandma out with the restaurant. Him dropping school not only helps him focus on work more, but also allows him to help relieve a lot of the stress his grandma had accumulated while he was gone. (He sees why Sieun would want him to go to school, after all, Sieun just wants him to succeed, but he also wished that Sieun could see where he was coming from too.)
But that’s not the point. The point is he loves Sieun so so much, and even if Sieun doesn’t show it as much as Suho does, he can tell Sieun loves him equally. It’s not grand gestures that got Suho head over heels in love with the other boy, it was the simple things. Like Sieun staying through all of Suhos Physical Therapy sessions, (even if he did crash out 20-70 times during that), or Sieun helping Suho out in the restaurant. (Suho wasn’t as strong as he used to be due to the accident, but the accident only helped Sieun to become stronger.)
He’s seen Sieuns school and the people in it. He doesn’t like either. Well, Eunjang is notorious for being a horrible school, and ever since he saw that kid, (what was his name again, Choi Hyoman?), bullying some underclassmen, he decided he didn’t like anyone in the school. (Especially since he heard Hyoman tried to attack Sieun and tortured one of Sieuns friends.)
Speaking of Sieuns friends, they’re the only exception to Suhos “I hate everyone at Eunjang” mantra. He remembers seeing them when he first woke in the hospital, and even with his bangs covering his face he could tell they cared a lot about Sieun. Even if it made Suho slightly jealous at first, eventually he grew to be grateful to them for helping Sieun so much. He also had to admit he loved their company.
Baku was the first one he warmed up to. After all, how could he not? Baku loved everything and everyone and honestly gave off a lot of golden retriever energy. He and Hyuntak shared a lot of overlapped interests, so he was able to warm up to him quickly too. Not to mention Suho and Hyuntak share a lot of physical characteristics (so many people have mistaken them both as twins). He was a bit wary of Juntae at first, considering his history of people with glasses, but nonetheless Juntae managed to win his heart over with two strawberry milk cartons and some triangular gimbap.
He hasnt told Sieun this yet, after all he’s better at noticing social cues than him, but he’s pretty sure Juntae knows about their relationship, judging by how Juntae keeps comparing them to some of his favorite romance manga or the obnoxiously large grin plastered on his face whenever he picks Sieun up.
It’s not that Suho is ashamed of being in a relationship with a man, after all, if someone was in a relationship with the Yeon Sieun they’d also want to flaunt it around and do lots of annoying PDA like kissing his cheek or resting his head on his shoulder–yeah ok Suho needs to stop. The point is, he knows that Sieun isn’t ready to tell anyone yet. Which is absolutely fine with Suho, he knows his boyfriend is the least likely to care about other people’s opinions.
He’d always think about announcing his and Sieuns relationship in front of their friends, all the reactions that they would get out of the boys. Maybe a “I didn’t see this coming!” from Baku. Or a “I can’t believe it?!” From Hyuntak. And definitely a squeal of delight from Juntae.
Now Suho wasn’t too far off from their reactions, the only thing he didn’t realize was that all of them probably already knew.
——————————————————
“WHAT THE HELL, WHY WOULD THEY KILL OFF THE NICEST DUDE IN THIS WHOLE SHITTY SHOW?!”
Since it was a Saturday, Suho had invited (more like begged) Sieun to come to his house to watch a movie. (He definitely didn’t think it was a movie date…definitely.)
They ended up binge watching most of Squid Game season 1, as Suho was freaking out about someone dying.
Sieun, on the other hand, didn’t seem fazed at all. Like it was a normal occurrence to see people brutally murdered (or maybe he knows the difference between fake and real).
They started the show sitting on opposite sides of Suhos (very small) couch, but as the end credits rolled for the sixth episode, their positions had drastically changed. Sieun was curled up to Suhos side, resting his head on the others shoulder. In return, Suho draped his arms over his boyfriend’s shoulders. They only really share this proximity whenever they’re sleeping, so even though Suho is elated, he knows he shouldn’t make this a big deal.
As the end credits rolled, Sieun looked up at Suho. He thought he would melt at the place he was in because why the fuck were Sieuns eyes so pretty but he instead (attempted to) play cool.
“What’s up, Sieun-ah? Don’t like the show?” Suho grinned, booping Sieun on the nose with his remote.
Sieun, being Sieun, didn’t seem too pleased with that. But he made no move to reprimand the other boy either.
“I was thinking that we should tell everyone.”
“About what?”
“Us.”
“…why the sudden change of heart Sieun-ah?”
Sieun quirked an eyebrow. “Don’t you want them to know?”
Suho seemed shocked. He had never told his boyfriend that he wanted everyone to know about them, but then again it’s Sieun, and if Suho can read him like an open book, then Sieun can see through him as easily as someone sees through glass.
“Well, I guess. But honestly it’s your choice.”
“I don’t care. Also it’s hard seeing them be that oblivious about us when you practically try to kiss me every second of the day, public or not.”
Suho mocked offense. “So you don’t like my kisses?!”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Well you practically did.”
“No I didn’t.” Sieun said, his tone causal, however his eyes gave him away. Sieun seemed to be enjoying this. They hadn’t had a time to just sit down and relax with midterms and also helping the restaurant.
Suho responded to this new information by pressing a kiss on the others boys forehead.
“You love me.”
“Unfortunately.” Sieun deadpanned, but even his lips were curling into a smile.
“Ok, we can tell them tomorrow when we see them.” Suho replied to Sieuns previous question.
“Oh! And Also, I think Juntae might know about us, so don’t say your friends are oblivious.” Suho added.
Sieun blinked. “Juntaes the most observant out of the three of them, so it makes sense.”
By this time, the TV was turned off and long forgotten, and the sun was setting. The sunset painted the room they were in an array of different oranges and pinks that bounced off of Sieuns face, and honestly, Suho felt like he had never seen Sieun this pretty.
So he did what any rational boyfriend would do.
Pepper kisses all over his face.
Siuen was startled for a second, since they haven’t really shared that intimate of moments, (other than the time they may have got a bit too carried away in Sieuns apartment after the confession),
But he let it happen anyways. He’d be a liar to say he didn’t enjoy this.
Suho finally pulled back, grinning at the smile he was able to put on Sieun. “I made you smile!!”
“Shut up.” Sieun replied. However the full grin on his face made it seem really playful.
Suho was about to open his mouth to reply, when suddenly his phone pinged. Suho has an irrational fear of not being able to reply to Sieuns texts (even though Sieun takes 2-4 business days to reply) so his phone’s usually not on silent. Sieuns phone is on silent all the time though, which probably explains why he replies so late.
Suho grabbed his phone, half expecting a chat from Sieun. (Yes, he later realized that Sieun was next to him receiving kisses from him, so it would’ve been impossible for Sieun to text him. But seriously! He was comatose for almost 2 years! Give this man a BREAK.)
Instead, it was to the group chat he was added to with all of Sieuns friends.
Seo Juntae:
Club house.
Now .
If it was literally any other of Sieuns friends, Suho wouldn’t go. Hyuntak has the ability to make things scary when they’re really not, and Baku has accidentally sent the wildest of texts on here when he was asleep, so this message would be tame. The fact it was sent by Juntae sent something off in him. Juntaes usually not that serious in his texts, sending weird emoji combos every other text. This must be serious. Was that weird bully messing with him? Whatever it was, Suho knew he should probably go and check it out.
Looking up from his phone, he could see that Sieun had also read the message, his eyes slightly widening in shock.
“Suho-yah…” Sieun started. But Suho already knew what he was going to say.
“Yeah, I think it’s important too. Especially since Juntae was the one to send it. Come on, we can take my bike.”
Sieun nodded in agreement as he got up from being curled up next to Suho. The latter followed shortly after, grabbing his bike keys and his helmet on the way out.
“If it isn’t actually serious I’m going to murder someone.” Suho mumbled under his breath, already missing Sieuns warmth.
——————
By the time they reached the clubhouse, both the boys were practically sweating in anticipation. Suho would’ve almost gone over the speed limit if it wasn’t for his precious cargo. (Aka his boyfriend.)
Is Juntae okay? Is he hurt? Why would he text us this late on a Saturday?
Millions of questions raced through Suhos head at once, making him dizzy. He laced fingers with Sieun for support, which in turn caused the other boy to squeeze his hand.
They were now face to face with the clubhouse door. Hopefully Juntae was okay.
Suho sighed and opened the door. He was expecting a pretty surprising sight, but nothing was more surprising than what he saw right now. At least it wasn’t the sight of seeing Juntae beat up.
Hyuntak, Juntae, and Baku were all already there, sitiing on the clubroom couch. Hyuntak had his legs crossed, Juntae was sitting cross cross applesauce, and Baku was sitting as formally as he could. All three of them turned their heads to the pair in a matter of seconds.
So this definitely wasn’t an emergency.
“Yah! Juntae-ya! Why did you send such a concerning message to me?!” Suho complained, almost glaring at the smaller boy. “I thought you were being beat up by the weird bully guy again!
“Yah, it wasn’t his fault. I sent the text from his phone since I knew you guys wouldn’t come if me or Baku sent it. Plus it is a really important matter.” Hyuntak defended the smaller boy.
“Why do you know Juntaes password?” Sieun suddenly piped up, causing Hyuntaks face to redden.
“Yah! Why are you holding hands with Suho?!” He deflected, pointing a finger to Suho and Sieuns hands, which were still interlinked. They must’ve forgotten with all the anxiety they had, but as soon as they noticed, they immediately let go.
“Why did you call us here.” Sieun finally stated after he let go of Suhos hand.
The whole room suddenly went silent. It was so quiet you could almost hear Suhos stomach rumbling (he hasn’t had dinner yet). After an exhaustingly long while Hyuntak finally cleared his throat.
“Uh…Baku will tell you.” Hyuntak said quickly before shutting his mouth again. Baku immediately sat up from his previous slouching position after he heard that. He was painfully quiet during this whole ordeal which wasn’t very Baku-like at all.
“YAH! WHY DO I HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO SAY IT?!?!”
“BECAUSE YOU HAVENT SAID ANYTHING YET!! ME AND JUN HAD TO SET UP EVERYTHING!!”
“YOU WERE THE ONE TO SPEAK UP, SO YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE TO SAY IT!!”
“THIS IS THE LEAST YOUR 99 IQ DUMBASS CAN DO SINCE YOU REALIZED LAST ANYWAYS!!”
“GOTAK WHAT THE HELL DOES MY IQ HAVE TO DO WITH WHAT WE HAVE TO DO–“
“I’M PANSEXUAL!” Juntae suddenly yelled, causing the whole room to go silent, yet again.
“I mean, that’s a way to get two people to stop arguing…” Suho mumbled under his breath, impressed by the smaller boys statement.
“So…you want to fuck pans?” Baku asked with genuine curiosity.
“WHAT–NO?!” Juntae screamed, horrified at what Baku just suggested.
“Idiot.” Hyuntak muttered under his breath.
Juntae sighed and forced himself to take some breaths before continuing. “I do not want to fuck pans Baku. I was unlabeled until recently because I never cared for putting labels on my sexuality, but I was researching some time ago and I found the label Pansexual. It means that I like all genders without a preference.”
“Ohhhh…” Baku trailed off, making an ‘O’ shape with his mouth.
“I’m not surprised.” Sieun expressed, his demeanor not changing.
“I mean, I’m with Sieun on this one. You were always kind of gay, especially considering all the gay and lesbian mangas you read, along with the fact you thirst over all the members in wanna one and enhypen.” Suho added.
Juntae grimaced. “Was I really that noticeable with them?”
“Yes.” Everyone said at the same time. Juntae blushed.
“I mean, I kind of guessed it too, but I wasn’t really expecting you to yell it like that.” Hyuntak added.
“Well, it was related to why we called Suho and Sieun.” Juntae explained. “And I also needed to make you two soo fighting.”
“How is that related?” Suho questioned.
Yet again, no one was willing to answer the question. In fact, Suho was starting to get a little impatient. He could’ve been at his house peacefully snuggling with his boyfriend, but instead he’s stuck in a freezing (and stinky) clubroom with hospital like lights and with Hyuntak & Baku looking like they’re about to murder each other.
Juntae slightly nudged Baku, signaling him to answer Suhos question. Baku looked confused and hurt that Juntae was siding with Hyuntak, but he still had the audacity to stay silent.
After 3 whole minutes of awkward silence, Hyuntak seemed to straighten up, looking ready to say something. Hopefully this statement was a little more surprising than Juntaes sudden coming out.
“Ithinkimgay.” Hyuntak suddenly blurted out loud, covering his mouth immediately after he said it.
Suhos ears (and practically any organ that aren’t his heart or lungs) have been failing a lot on him recently, so he wasn’t able to pick up on what Hyuntak had just confessed to. Baku being…well, Baku…didn’t pick up on it either.
However, the two smallest boys picked it up easily. Juntae because he was next to the culprit, and Sieun because he was directly in front of him and had crazy good hearing.
Juntae visibly got surprised, with a strangled “What?” escaping his throat and him blinking his eyes rapidly. Sieun was a bit more subtle, but if anyone paid close attention, they could see how his eyes widened slightly and his fists loosened.
“Wait, what did he say?” Suho asked to his boyfriend, desperate to be included.
“Yeah, what did you say GoGo?” Baku agreed.
Hyuntak sighed, exasperated, before he repeated himself. “I said, I think I’m gay.”
Now that was something no one in the room was expecting. A quiet but no so quiet “oh” slipped from Suhos mouth as he covered it in shock. Baku, in typical Baku fashion, starting yelling questions.
“WAIT WHAT?! SINCE WHEN?!”
“SO YOUVE NEVER ENJOYED ANY OF THE BLIND DOUBLE DATES WEVE BEEN ON?!”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU THINK?!”
After Baku had finally stopped bombarding questions on Hyuntak, he stayed silent for a few seconds before continuing.
“Hey bro, I totally support by the way, it would be cool to have a gay best friend.” Baku practically grinned, trying to express his support for his best friend.
Hyuntak let out a small smile. “Thanks Baku. But I’m not really sure if I’m gay. I do know that I don’t like girls though.”
“You could also be asexual.” Sieun pointed out.
“I don’t know, I considered it, but it doesn’t really feel right…” Hyuntak trailed off.
“I was NOT expecting that, but you go!” Suho cheered.
“This is like the only time where you guys are sweet and not trying to bite each others heads off.” Juntae pointed out, which Baku let out a huff to. “But Tak-a, thank you for trusting us enough to tell us that. It really means a lot, and we all support you!” Juntae assured, reaching over to squeeze Hyuntaks hand.
“ ‘s nothing. Same for you.” Hyuntak stuttered, surprised by the other boys physical affection.
A pang of slience ensued.
Suhos voice cut the silence. “Um…since we all are apparently coming out today, I guess it’s only fair for me to come out to. I’m bisexual.”
Baku opened his mouth to speak, but Suho beat him to it.
“Before you ask Baku, no I do not want to fuck bicycles, it just means I like both boys and girls.”
“Like with Juntae, I’m not really surprised.” Hyuntak replied. “Good for you though.”
“What’s the difference between yours and Juntaes label?” Baku questioned.
“If I answer that question then I’ll end up on a tangent about it, so I’ll tell you tomorrow. Plus we still need to talk to Suho and Sieun.” Juntae answered. With that statement, the three on the couch remained silent and started staring at the other two. Saying that Sieun and Suho were confused would be an understatement.
“Uh…I’m gay…?” Sieun finally said after 2 minutes of silence and staring contests.
“Shut up. We all know.” Hyuntak said while glaring at the spot where Sieun and Suhos hands were interlinked.
Suho yawned, clearly starting to get sleepy. “So…is anyone going to tell us why we’re here? Or is this just a coming out party?”
No answer.
“Ok this is weird. Me and Sieun are gonna leave in 2 minutes if you don’t–“
“AH I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!” Baku suddenly screamed, pointing between the pair rapidly. “This has been in my mind for a long time , and I’m not the only one.” He nudged his head towards Juntae and Hyuntak, who immediately nodded their heads in agreement.
He narrowed his eyes as his eyebrows furrowed. “And as much as we think we know the answer, we still need to hear it from you. Are you two fucking?”
Hyuntak and Juntae facepalmed at the way Baku framed the question.
“He means if you two are dating.” Juntae cleared up, his face still on his hands.
“We’re not fucking.” Sieun answered.
“Yet.” Suho immediately added with a huge grin. He got a smack on the back of his head for that.
“Ow! But yeah, we’re dating.” Suho explained, rubbing the place where Sieun hit his head.
“I FUCKING KNEW IT!!” Hyuntak celebrated, pumping his fists in the air.
“We’re so happy for you and we will support you! You shouldn’t be afraid of judgement since you know, all of us like boys…” Juntae affirmed, grinning.
“YES! IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS!!! I WILL BE THE BEST ALLY EVER FOR YOU GUYS AND YOU GUYS CAN ALWAYS ACT AS A COUPLE IN FRONT OF US!!” Baku yelled excitedly, trying to show his support again.
Suho took that as an excuse to lace hands with Sieun again. He didn’t fight back.
“Wait, how did you all find out.” Sieun asked, his face a light pink.
Juntae thought for a moment. “Well do you remember that one time we came to the school early to study for midterms? Well I remember me and Baku were looking out the window and we saw Suho drop you off, which is peak boyfriend behavior by the way. And then I saw how you looked at him and that you were wearing his jacket so I assumed you two were in love.”
“Oh.” Sieun answered. “Did Baku also find out then?”
Hyuntak grinned. “No, that was too difficult for his dumbass to figure out.” Baku responded with a “Yah!” while trying to headlock Hyuntak from his place on the couch.
“But yeah, Juntae was the first to figure out, I figured out the day we went to give notes to Sieun and Suho was sick. Sieun doesn’t love anyone that much to take of them like he did for Suho.” Hyuntak explained as he dodged at Baku’s efforts to put him in a headlock.
Baku huffed before giving up and shrinking back into his seat. “And for your information, I figured out by myself too, on that movie night we had where I had my sugar high. Saw you two practically cuddling like it was a typical Tuesday night so then I thought you two were in love. Brought it up with the other two and it turned out we thought the exact same thing.”
“So your friends aren’t as stupid as we thought they were.” Suho surmised after listening to the three boys explain how they found out. “Actually considering the timeline, Juntae found out before we officially found out ourselves, and then Hyuntak found out the day we started dating.”
Juntae beamed. “I’m just so good at detecting romance!”
Hyuntak chuckled while moving to ruffle the other boys hair. “It’s just because you read all that romance.”
“What about me?” Baku asked. “Did I also figure it out early?”
“No.” Sieun and Suho said at the same time, causing Baku to mock frown while he held his heart.
“Your fault for being a dumbass.” Hyuntak added.
“Yeah?! Well this dumbass is the reason why we know that they’re dating!”
“I don’t know if you’ve been listening, but we all kind of figured out before they told us. Also as I said ME and JUN had to set everything up, idiot.”
“We were going to tell you tomorrow, but then this all happened.” Suho suddenly said, trying to break up the fighting. He just wants to go home and cuddle with his boyfriend. But of course his statement got ignored by the two fighting.
“WELL YOU TWO DIDNT SAY ANYTHING EXCEPT COME OUT! which is good, by the way, I support by a 1000% but I HAD TO BE THE ONE TO SAY IT!”
“THATS CAUSE WE ALL AGREED YOU WOULD BE THE ONE TO SAY IT!!”
“WHEN?! I DONT REMEMBER THAT?!”
“ARE YOU STUPID?! IT WAS LITERALLY FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THEY CAME IN!!!”
“Is Baku straight?” Sieun suddenly said. “I thought he was like Suho.”
“WHAT?!” Baku yelled, surprised by what Sieun said. “Just because you guys are gay doesn’t mean I have to.” He pouted.
“Ok…” Suho answered, not sounding convinced.
Hyuntak turned to Juntae.
“15 bucks he realizes he’s bisexual by the end of the school year.”
Notes:
I don’t plan to make Baku have a gay awakening or have a male love interest (unless one of you guys extremely convince me on Baku/Baekjin) but yeah he’s DEFINITELY not straight lmao
