The sky's dark, stars are shining, and shadows were loaming. Golem silently stepped around the house in a memorized path, each step careful and calculated.
Golem was an old mechanical model meaning he didn't need to run on electricity unlike the newer ones— that also means he has to find things to do for half the day when everyone is alseep, he picked up painting a while ago but he decided to explore the house
Some details he never cared to notice before seem to stand out when nothing else contradicted them; the potted poppies Buzz collected swaying in union against the window, so red so beautiful. the soft hum of static when lights flickered to life, the lightbulbs taking a moment to register. And the trinkets & pictures from past adventures all together, hung up on the wall—
Golem paused, in the living room, just staring at the wall of memories. His eyes drawn by how lively everyone looked. he sighed light-heartedly at the sight, it was always nice remembering good times when Golem felt down
A cough from another room snapped Golem out of his daze, he was about to check on it but it coughed again— it wasn't human— Even he could tell from there. it was gutteral, like someone gagging as they choked. something liquid but heavy hit the floor, Golem could only pray it was water
The door was still open, wide open, Golem froze. He was supposed to be the protector of the group, but why couldn't he do anything right now? Was this fear?
He hesitantly took a step forward, the sounds outside the room halted. he took another step, the sounds got louder.
After what felt like an eternity, he finally brought himself close enough to switch on the lights to the kitchen— where the choking noise was heard— static hummed as it flickered for a second, before bright lights overcasted the shadows
Kibble was just standing on the kitchen carpet, blank eyes, cheerful smile, and blood smeared face, fresh crimson blood dripped down their chin— staining the green rug
A beat of utter, tense silence went past, Golem and Kibble staring at each other before he exhaled a breath he didn't realize he was holding "Kibble, I thought I said to throw up outside..." He questioned, gesturing to the carpet that stained with red
The wolf just tilted their head as their tail wagged behind them
"Don't try charming me. I hate cleaning blood more than I love your cuteness." Golem scolded jokingly, narrowing his eyes as his arms crossed over his chest
Kibble whimpered pathetically as they lowered their head and shulked away, clearly saddened, blood red pawprints were left behind as Kibble walked up the stairs. Leaving Golem to clean up the bloody mess of red and parasites

Next morning; Joll noticed the kitchen rug was missing. The only person who've been awake at night would be Golem but he didn't know why he'd remove the whole ass carpet
Joll found Golem leaning against a wall. "Golem?", Joll tapped Golem's shoulder, forcing the robot to acknowledge him
"What?" Golem sounded more hostile then intended
"Where'd you put that green carpet?" Joll curiously asked, tilting his head slightly
Golem glared for a moment, just feeding into the awkwardness "The laundry" he bluntly answered
"Really? Never thought you'd be the type to do chores
without getting asked..."
"Shut up."."
