Chapter Text
This first chunk is the prologue, you can skip a little lower if you want (◕ᴗ◕✿)

There was always a secret to beauty, Aryu discovered that when he was younger. His grandma found it a waste of time that he always spent hours in the mirror reapplying and cleansing himself when he could do it another way–
“Stay close to energetic people,” she whispered, “hum softly, not enough to hurt, but to taste.”
So Aryu did, but he didn't think it had an effect. It was only in second grade that he saw colorful lines surrounding people, some had huge auras and others were small, signifying their energy level.
When he hummed or held close contact, the energy sinked into him by rows and layers. Aryu always enjoyed the compliments after, “you have a nice voice, it really calmed me down!”
“Of course, the feeling’s mutual.” Aryu smiled, a small glint in his eye.

It never hit Barou what his family was full of until the beginning of puberty when he didn't grow taller, but a new set of teeth that pricked his tongue.
The first taste was simple things, the blood of a cow, maybe a chicken or two, but nothing compared to the human blood secretly stashed in the bottom of the fridge. They were labeled small things, “O+, B-,” each blended with their own flavor.
But there was a rumor, Sirens always tasted best.

Bachira knew he was destined to be an outcast. He saw things that others didn't, whether it was the monster inside of him, the way others sang a little too nicely, or how others had sharper teeth than the norm.
But there was never someone like him, others found their cliques, they had that reassurance despite not being human, but what was he? Why couldn't he just stay a perfect human.
Until a day after practice, a tall, red haired woman walked up to him.
“Oh dear, where's your mentor? Hybrids need to stay safe, would you like to come with me?”
Hybrids. There was nothing altered about them, never a moment where your secret was released, but it was a need. They kept the world steady, made sure the underworld never reached the top, and that was enough for Bachira.
Society was never bound to be united as one. Aryu found that fascinating, he found humans fascinating. They try so desperately to find similarities in everyone, but still manage to exclude someone for the smallest thing.
That’s partially why he doesn’t feel guilty about stealing their energy. At the end of the day, it still benefited him. But that wasn’t why he played a sport, it was an excuse why he always looked so pristine and flawless, making soccer a reasonable option.
He never took it as hard as others which is why he found it ridiculous that he got invited to such an adrenaline hotspot– Blue Lock.
“Hey! Aryu,” Aiku sauntered over to him, occasionally pausing to greet a teammate. He was a Leader Siren, always feeding off of people waiting on his next move like a hawk. It definitely wasn’t his type, making interactions smoother.
“If it isn’t grandpa, how do I owe you this pleasure?” Aryu barely spared him a glance before focusing back on his nails.
“Tch, I'm not even that old.”
“Out with it.”
“Do you have a spare pill? Chigiri needs it.” He was the last, feeding off of people’s care and favorability, even then, it can get overwhelming if you can’t digest the energy fast enough.
Aryu dug in his bag, picking out a pearl white bottle, on the inside was crystal clear pills.
“Knock yourself out,” he tossed it to Aiku who caught it swiftly.
“Thanks man.”
“Mhm.” There were only 3 of them so looking out for each other was natural. Worse comes to worse, they’d be visited by the “Guardian,” but it hasn’t happened to them yet.
{Although Aryu may have a few suspects, if none came to light, then he for sure had a favorite human.}

His least favorite part about Blue Lock was all of the dorm switching. It was a bit more stable now with everyone being in the NEL and his roommate being perfect.
Barou was clean, strict on himself for perfection and always twirling with energy, what more could he ask for? Aryu always made it his goal to hum a little before bed. It was done with casual intentions, leading to soft snores minutes later.
Eventually, he paused. Taking a break to digest the current energy, but it seemed the fish had accidentally already been caught.
“Tsk, stop messing around.” Aryu leaned off of the balcony, twisting slightly back to the room.
“Hm?”
“That thing you always do.” Aryu turned back to the moon and silently absorbed its rays like fresh water. What was the thing he always did?
“Oh..do you mean my humming?”
“Don’t play with me, what else?” Barou rolled his eyes and continued drinking from his pouch; he had a small routine set up around Aryu’s pattern.
He wouldn’t go straight to bed, instead choosing to relax on the balcony for about 10 minutes, giving him enough time to drink.
Barou didn’t want to involve a human in his affairs, it was annoying enough that it didn’t seem like he was the only vampire running around.
He was glad though that they had an old money vamp as an instructor even if he wasn’t on his team. That seemed to keep everyone in line once he stepped in the building with who he assumed was his baby vamp.
Barou wiped the stray blood off his lips and disposed of the bag secretly, there didn’t need to be any huge surprises tonight.

Anri knew what she was starting when she gathered 300 boys in a part way asylum. None of them was bound to be 100% human, but she didn’t expect to gain herself a hybrid, especially an untamed one.
“Anri-san, I need help with my halo..” Bachira dragged himself in the nurse's office, an oversized hoodie and cookie monster pajama pants swallowing his figure.
Sometimes she found herself struggling to remember he was ranked 5th on the leaderboard.
“What is it now?” Bachira took his ring off and handed it to her as it immediately reverted back to its original state but dimmer.
“Oh, dear…What did you do to it?”
“I don’t know, I was chilling with the sirens and Ness–the little earth boy, we kept trying to get water lilies to bloom from him!” Bachira giggled softly, stopping when she gave him a firm look.
“It’s a little glitchy from the water, I'll bond it with mine.” Anri grabbed a pen from the table and tapped it on Bachira’s halo, causing it to rise and shimmer with the pen.
“How come your halo can disguise so well?!”
“Practice, dear.” Bachira watched the halos in awe as Anri took a bag out of the cooler and passed it to him.
“Give this to your baby 5, the only supernaturals in the building.”
“You heard us!?”
“I hear everything, but make sure they believe it, it’ll be dangerous if the vamps and siren’s discover each other.”
“Of course, and thank you!” Bachira took the bag as his halo slowly sized back down and slid on his ring finger.
“Mhm,” she smiled watching him slip back out.

Today was another pool day. It was guarded off for special access and only by going to her privately were you able to get in, (most people think weight room 3 is just another weight room.)
Bachira got there slightly early and wiped his key card to enter. The room was dimmed low with blue LED lights hung everywhere as the main source.
Chigiri was already halfway in the water, his magnetic red tail flicking up occasionally. His fins were crescent shaped, leaning more towards the longer side.
“Wow, looks like someone's happy, you're shimmering.” Bachira sipped on his smoothie, watching as some of his scales reflected off the light.
“It’s nothing…”
“More like our darling is moving out of his situation ship phase.” Aryu emerged out of the water, his hair still perfectly smoothed and scattered.
“Yah, who was it, the chameleon?” Aiku sat next to Bachira, his tail forming the closer he dipped into the water.
“No, not Reo! It's Shidou..”
“Shidou!?” Bachira slowly blinked, resisting the urge to say something mean.
“Didn't he get in trouble in the locker room?”
“What do you mean?” Bachira turned quickly to Aiku, a burning thirst in his eyes.
“Well I wasn't there, mate…but when everyone was changing something happened and Loki quickly stormed in and that's the only part everyone remembers..Which is weird.” Aiku shrugged, leaning all the way in before popping back up, he was a special breed as scales tended to grow on his ears too.
“My flowers caught some of the audio on accident, Shidou wasn't really in trouble but he was defending Charles against someone and a fight broke out .. Someone tried biting someone and that's when Loki stormed in..” Ness sat on an oversized lily pad as a small Chrysanthemum blossomed where Aryu rubbed him.
“I’m sorry, biting??”
“Was it Shidou?”
“Wha– no, Shidou’s a little rabid, but he's not the type to chomp someone, right Ness?” Chigiri turned to Ness, quietly hopeful.
“It was the other guy, but as soon as Loki walked in nobody could remember the rest..It's almost like he didn't want us to.”
“I bet Charles knows,” Aryu snickered.
“That doesn't count, Charles knows everything.” Aiku quipped, rolling his eyes in the process.
“What, do you guys wanna ask him?” The 4 turned to Bachira with mixed emotions.
“Doesn't that mean we’ll be under Loki’s radar?” Chigiri pointed out, looking at everyone like they were crazy.
“Yeah but he's human, how much could he possibly hear if we bring Charles willingly into our space?” Aiku paused before nodding at Bachira’s words.
“Sounds legit, I'm in.” “Are you serious? What if we get caught?”
“None of us are on PXG though..” Ness murmured. Chigiri turned to Aryu, his tail swinging becoming smaller but heavier.
“It’ll be alright.” Aryu patted him softly, only getting a sigh in return.
“Okay fine, but if anything happens, I'm blaming you all.”
“Darling, the worst that could happen is you dying beautifully.” (That earns a splash from Chigiri.)

Aryu walked back to the dorms, his hair pulled up with a clip to keep the water off his neck.
The plan was simple: they'd all bring one of Charles' favorites and disguise it as a sleepover to lure gossip out of him safely.
Aryu planned on bringing his glitter face masks and his makeup headbands out of the pure feeling that Chigiri might bring his skin care bag. The door twitched open immediately hitting Aryu with the smell of raw iron.
He looked inside but didn't see anything burning, Barou was laid out on his bed but looked up at the unmentioned return. There was a red pouch filled with something that seemed to be the cause of everything.
“What are you doing?” Aryu gave him a pointed look.
