If we are to be separated, if we are to lose our way I’ll make sure we’ll be connected this time, no matter how many times it takes

Summary:

Kanade has lost the person she loves the most in this world, Mafuyu, desperate she will do anything to save her, even if it means traversing universes.

inspired by madoka magica, it’s like a kanade into the kanamafuverse fic where she goes into different universes until she saves mafuyu.

Notes:

this is my first fic ive ever wrote so please don’t murder me at the stake, when i was thinking of this idea i had a dream that i was murdered by a biblically accurate angel as the word sinner repeated and it was because i wrote kanamafu fanfiction so hope that doesn’t happen to me

Chapter 1: Whispering the same thing, always the same: “How much longer will this last?” So I may never forget the air you carved out I wonder how many times I’ll be made to remember it again

Chapter Text

Kanade had been walking aimlessly in the snow without any recollection of why. Dried up blood stained her previously white dress and stuck uncomfortably through her fingernails. Exhaustion consumed her, yet she would not let herself succumb to it, the only thing in Kanade’s almost blank mind was the thought of her, her long wavy hair, her dull, lifeless eyes, they taunted her and forced her to keep going looking for who knows what. Finally her frail body succumbed to exhaustion and she fell to her knees, dropping her staff, she suddenly became aware of how terribly cold she was. She sat there for a while, freezing alone in the dead of the night her eyes blurred and tears began to fall from her eyes. And Kanade sat there for even longer, wondering why did she still cry when she had done such awful things? How did Kanade get the right to suffer when she could be out fixing this? But Kanade couldn’t get up she still sat pathetic and alone.

In the bleak darkness, a light illuminated the landscape. Kanade didn’t know why but she crawled to it as if she was drawn to it, she reached her feeble hand to it, and cried.

“Please, please, please, something..! Someone please.. give me another chance to fix this..” Kanade cried out, yearning for this reality to end, she wasn’t expecting a response, she wasn’t sure why she was saying such things, perhaps maybe the gods Kanade so foolishly placed her trust in would save her. No, no matter how much Kanade wished that to be so, that wouldn’t be the case since Kanade was such a disgusting being. Gods she was pathetic, this was her mistake, she hurt the person she loved so dearly so much and now nothing could undo that, because she was gone. And it was her fault. Kanade pulled the light in her hands and crushed it.

Suddenly the landscape changed too pure white and Kanade wondered if that small action had killed her, perhaps that is what she deserved. She could make out a figure in the blank space with long pink hair who seemed to be getting closer and closer. Luka, goddess of life, Luka was perhaps the most worshiped of the gods and the one Kanade had believed she had been sent by, maybe this was Luka’s punishment for claiming to be one of her angels yet doing such disgusting things. Kanade couldn’t help herself from flinching afraid for the punishment Kanade so deserved. But to her surprise, Luka only put a gentle hand to her chin and lifted Kanade’s head to face her.

“Oh my, is this the ever so interesting Kanade Yoisaki, I am very pleased to meet you.” Luka had a wide grin on her face but it subsided a little when she looked to see Kanade’s reaction.

“My, why do you look so afraid? Aren’t I a kind woman?” Something about Luka’s tone suggested she was amused by Kanade’s reaction. Kanade didn’t respond.

“Say Kanade do you why you’re here?”

“…I killed my lover.. this is punishment.” Kanade could barley look to see Luka’s reaction, and to her surprise she looked amused.

Luka burst out laughing. “Punishment? Who do you take me for? There are much worse vermin on this planet, you simply are misguided but I doubt anything I say will reach your head…” Her gaze turned serious. “Kanade how far would you go to save that girl?”

Kanade immediately locked in. “I would do anything. Anything at all.” Desperation clear in her voice.

Luka smiled. “Then I have a proposition for you. If you really are willing to do anything for that girl, I can give you the chance to save her, but…” She hesitated. “The stakes are a bit high-“

“I’ll do it.” Kanade’s voice was lit with determination and her pathetic desperation.

Luka smiled but it seemed as if there was something else going on in her head, something she wasn’t telling Kanade. But Kanade didn’t care she’d do anything even if it meant taking her own life to save her, she’d do it in a heartbeat.

“Alright my angel, I’ll give you this chance to save her. To save Mafuyu.”

Suddenly the world turned black.
