The tree that blossomed in Empty Sekai had put the four to sleep a few days ago, and had given the composer the dream of her life. An alive father.
But all is done now, and Kanade can no longer return back to that sweet dream.
Yet deep down, the composer lingered for more. Kanade wanted to stay in the future where nothing had went wrong, where she had never cursed her father.
In an attempt to relive it all again, the aimless and conflicted girl touches the blackened leaves once more, oblivious to the consequences that it would bring.
And maybe then, will she find salvation.

In the SEKAI, she finds a familiar glowing ball of light, and sees a rather peculiar Miku...

After an encounter with her ex and sufferring from the ramifications of her own shortcomings and the struggles of adulthood, Kanade feels more aimless and alone than ever before. Mafuyu has moved on, Niigo has moved on. And all she could do was mourn for what she's lost.But maybe... maybe she wasn't actually alone. Perhaps there was someone else just like her, someone who she can take steps forward with--together.

Even Mizuki, from time to time, sought Kanade for assistance. It was her nature. She wanted to help people, wanted to care for them, wanted to shelter them, wanted to protect them. This was her nature, and though it was exhausting, she was very well cared for. She knew all of Nightcord loved her, she knew that Honami cared for her, and she knew that they needed her. For all intents and purposes, Yoisaki Kanade was special, specially cherished.
And yet she still wanted to cry.
There was a reason why Yoisaki Kanade took action when her fellows didn’t, why she was the effective head of their band, why she praised so readily and smiled so easily when it was for the sake of others. There was a reason, plain and simple and effective and written into her soul, why Mafuyu knew to take refuge in her home, why Ena sought her words, why everything and everything sought her.
Kanade wanted Mafuyu’s fingers to fill the gaps in between her own, and she wondered why, because they had not known each other for nearly long enough. A beat or so after she had thought that, the answer lied in front of her.
