The Past Job

Summary:

Of all the Jobs that Team Leverage pulled, there is one Job the team doesn't like to talk about.

It's a Job that nearly cost them. A Job that nearly cost them their Hitter and his blood family.

It's a job that all started with a phone call.

This is the Job where the team learns about Eliot Spencer's Enemies and what those Enemies are willing to do to get in to Eliot Spencer's head.

Notes:

I sort of didn't like where I was going with my other Story, The Bad Guys Revenge Job.

This one is going to be similar but also different.

*Jake Stone, Eliot Spencer, and Alex Walker aren't triplets, but they are brothers.
*Eliot Spencer and Alex Walker are Twins.

**Jake Stone is 32 years old while his brothers are 36 years old.

Chapter 1: The Call

Chapter Text

Eliot Spencer had made it his life mission to keep his deadly past in the past.

He knew how to use guns but didn't like them. He knew several ways to use knives for both cooking for and hurting people.

When he was thirty-four he stopped killing people. He stopped being the Hitman for hire. Instead he turned to Retrieval.

When Eliot had turned thirty-five, he became part of a team. And after a year that team turned in to his family. He would do anything for them. He would be their protector.

He hoped and prayed his family wouldn't find out his past. He would tell them when he was ready to. When he was ready to trust himself a little more with their lives.

Then one day his choice was taken from him. The day he was forced to tell his found family about his past deeds. It was the day he was forced to tell Parker about the worse thing he had ever done.

It was all because someone he had thought he had left behind had found his baby brother.

It was a Saturday afternoon when phone rang. Business at the Brewpub was slow and it wouldn't pick up again until about dinner time.

The Brewpub phone rang twice before someone answered it.

"Hello Brewpub" The employee answered.

When the caller spoke, the employee felt something cold go through him, and he shivered.

"I am looking for Eliot Spencer"

The employee looked around and spotted the asked for man. The employee gulped when he saw that the man was busy prepping what looked to be his famous chili.

He knew that the man didn't liked to be interrupted, when he was in the middle of something, but the way the caller spoke sounded like he wasn't going to take a "Can he call you back?"

"Sir, give me a moment"

The employee looked over at Eliot Spencer and muted the portable phone.

"Mr. Spencer, there is a phone call for you." The employee said as he handed Eliot the phone.

Eliot Spencer growled and then unmuted the work phone.

"This better-"

Eliot Spencer froze when he heard his caller speak.

"I have something that belongs to you, Spencer"

"And what would that be sir?"

Eliot really didn't want to stay on the phone with his caller.

"When was the last time you heard from Jacob Stone, Eliot?

"No" Eliot thought.

Eliot growled. He hadn't spoken to Jake in years and the last time he saw his little brother, it wasn't great. The last he heard and this news came from his twin brother Alex, that Jake was working at some Library here in Portland.

Eliot ignored the caller's questions and asked one of his own.

"What do you want Thompson?"

He knew exactly what the man wanted and Eliot was very reluctant to give it to him.

His caller must have sensed this because, Eliot heard a scream come over the phone.

"You know exactly what I want Spencer" Thompson said.

"Let me talk to him please." Eliot asked. He needed to know if his brother was alright.

"Eliot? It hurts."

Eliot frowned at his brother's voice. What did Thompson do?

"Jake where are you?"

Nothing.

"Alex is here too"

That couldn't be right, one of his contacts told him where his twin brother was just three weeks ago. Alex Walker was in the Philippines recovering from Hypertension.

"Jake, what did he do?"

"Cattle Prod to the back. Eliot, he shot-"

"I let you talk to him longer than I should have Spencer. Now give me what I want!"

Wait a minute. He was being an idiot.

"How did you know where I was Thompson? The last place I remember you being was in a Russian Prison, where I put you!"

Laughter answered him.

"I made some friends and they got me out. As for how I knew where you were, I have people who owe me favors. They bugged your office. Now give me what I want!"

With that Thompson hung up.

Eliot turned to the pale looking Employee.

"We are closing now Peter. Get whatever customers that are here out." Eliot ordered.

Peter nodded and hurried away to pass on Eliot's demands.

After Peter left, Eliot boxed his prepped ingredients and put them in the fridge. He washed his hands.

Eliot regretted the day he met Thompson. There had been something about the man, he hadn't liked.

The man was crazy and violent. Thompson had even managed to knock Eliot out cold once.

It was a retrieval job that nearly cost him his well his working parts and his left hand.

It was the only job where he told the person what he was retrieving and who for. The Russian mob doesn't take kindly to those who take from them without asking.

Thompson was then thrown into a Russian Prison and Eliot Spencer walked away with all his body parts.

It was also the first and last time he retrieved a person for someone.

Eliot shook the memory away. But now Thompson was asking for something else. Something Eliot no longer had a choice in.

Thompson wanted Eliot to spill his guts to not only his found family but to his brothers as well, via recording devices. Thompson wanted his brothers that every enemy that Eliot had made, knew about them.

His cellphone rang and Eliot glanced at the caller id.

NATE

Eliot sighed and answered his friend.

"Yes?"

"Get your ass up here, we need to talk now" Nate said and hung up.

Chapter 2: Eliot Spills His Guts

Summary:

Jake Stone and his big brother Alex Walker are in the hands of their brother's enemies.

Eliot meanwhile is spilling his past to his found family.

Jake remembers when he attacked Eliot but doesn't remember what happened when Eliot escaped from the basement.

Chapter Text

Thompson had bought the Warehouse for just this purpose.

Enemies of Eliot Spencer entered the warehouse. Damien Moreau stood by Thompson's side. When Eliot worked for him, Eliot spilled his past to him. He told Damien about his time in Black ops where he made enemies and his freelance work. But most of all he had told Damien about his brothers.

One of Eliot's enemies had been in the Philippines when he had seen Alex Walker. The man had caught Alex off guard and managed to smuggle the man back to the States.

Jake Stone had been a different matter. The thirty-two year old hadn't been by himself when one of his older brother's enemies had found him. But the problem was quickly fixed with a gun pointed at his Girlfriend's head.

Now both brothers were in front of Thompson. They were kneeling before him.

Both men watched as their captor dialed a number and waited for his call to be picked up.

The call was answered and words were exchanged before Eliot came to the phone.

Some more words were exchanged before someone came up behind Jake and used a cattle prod on his back.

Jake screamed in pain before the phone was shoved to his ear.

Jake explained what was used on him and started telling his big brother about Alex before the phone was pulled away.

A few minutes later Thompson hung up and smiled.

"You called Ford right?" Thompson asked Damien Moreau ignoring his two prisoners.

"Sure, Ford sounded angry but he is pissed at Eliot. Jason Vargas is also on his way Thompson" Moreau said looking at Alex Walker.

Alex Walker was restrained in a really weird way. While Jake's hands were handcuffed behind his back, Alex's hands were chained behind his back and to his belt loops with a chain sharing the belt space. A Thug had used a collar on Alex's neck and was holding the man by a long chain chained to the collar like a leash.

Alex was also gagged tightly. Jake understood that, seeing that their Uncle Danny had taught Alex the art of conning. They weren't going to let Alex talk his way out of this.

Also Alex had been shot. Jake learned on the way to the warehouse that Alex had tried to escape and he was shot in the leg for the problem.

Before Jake or anyone else could say anything, Eliot's voice came through a speaker.

He sounded sad like he was about to loose something that meant a lot to him. Something that made him happy.

"A enemy of mine has come to Portland and is holding two people who mean the world to be sides you guys. What I am about to tell you is being recorded for my brothers Alex and Jake. Alex is my twin brother and while Jake may look like us, he is four years younger than Alex and I. The man holding them his name is Thompson and I did one of my first retrieval jobs for him. I was to retrieve a girl from the head of the Russian mob. I was caught and almost lost some of my body parts for the trouble. It was the only time I was going to retrieve a person for someone. The job failed and the girl stayed with the mobster. Thompson was arrested and was thrown into a Russian prison. But apparently the man made friends and now a lot of my enemies are in Portland, including Damien Moreau and one of Alex's enemies named Jason Vargas."

Thompson was smiling at Jake and Alex who were both pale and sickly looking but it was about to get worse.

Much worse.

Eliot continued speaking.

"I spilled my guts to Damien Moreau. Damien Moreau knows everything about me. Who I worked for and who I killed. I was young and stupid and I trusted Damien Moreau enough to tell him about Alex and Jake. I worked for Damien for four years. During my second year of working for him, one of his men discovered Alex was getting too close for comfort. The man told Damien and Damien pulled me aside."

Eliot had stopped speaking and the woman named Parker spoke up and asked a question.

"What did he want you to do Eliot?"

"Damien told me, he was going to put a bounty on Alex's head if I didn't kill him. Guys I love my brothers and I would give my own life to protect them. But remember, I was young and stupid. I tracked Alex down and over powered him. I-I-I held a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. He had seen me about to pull the trigger and moved. Instead of shooting him in the head, the bullet hit his shoulder."

Jake and Alex heard their brother holding back his tears. But Eliot was crying. Jake stared at Alex and Alex carefully shook his head. Letting Jake know that's not what happened. Eliot was lying about this part because he knew that both Alex and Jake were listening to him.

Eliot continued.

"But that wasn't the worse thing Damien asked from me. My father had located me a short while after me shooting Alex and asked me to return home. I needed to ask Damien. Damien allowed me to return home on the promise of returning to him. I went home. Alex must have told Jake who was still living at home what I had done because I didn't get the welcome I was expecting."

Alex looked at Jake with a raised eyebrow.

"I might have attacked him and accidentally locked him in the basement and didn't let him out for a few days. I left him tied up to the pillar." Jake whispered to Alex. They had a feeling that's not what Eliot was going to say though.

Eliot was a better liar than the both of them, even if he wore his heart on his sleeve. But they were surprised when Eliot told the truth about what Jake did and then what happened after. Something Jake didn't remember and Eliot was glad for it.

"Jake attacked me and overpowered me. He knocked me out. When I came to, I was cuffed, I still don't know where Jake got handcuffs from, anyway Jake had handcuffed me to the metal pole in our basement. Where he continued to punch and kick me. He kept me locked in the basement for a few days. Those few days reminded me what Damien asked me to do. Jake doesn't remember this because-" Eliot stopped talking.

Eliot couldn't continue. It was too painful for him to recall. Thompson frown and pulled out his phone.

He called Eliot and his phone rang, he nodded over to the thugs that stood behind Jake. The Thugs dragged him close to Thompson.

"Eliot you better continue or Jacob dies!"

Thompson hung up and Eliot continued his story or that's what Thompson was hoping he would do.

"Thompson I will find you and your gang of thugs and when I do, I will make what I did to Jake look like a really gruesome crime scene compared to what happened to Jake. Jake I know you don't remember what happened when I escaped the basement. If it wasn't for Alex and Pop you would be dead. Jake I almost killed you. I ran back to Damien instead of facing you. I told him you were dead, just like Alex."

Jake frowned. Was Eliot the reason that there was a scar on the side of his head. Eliot was a better shot than Alex was.

Jake closed his eyes and tried to remember how he got that scar. The memory was fuzzy and it wouldn't clear. He only remembers being pulled down by Alex and his Pop and something grazing his head.

Eliot stopped talking and then there was a loud buzzing noise and then nothing.

Alex remembered the day that Eliot was talking about. He had never seen Eliot like that. He and Jake both knew that their brother didn't like being attacked, but Jake had been pissed.

It had taken Eliot nearly three days to escape their basement and about a hour to find his sniper rifle. Their backyard was full of hills where Eliot could hide and not be seen. Jake had his back turned to Eliot but Alex and their father had seen Eliot's scope and as the bullet came toward Jake, both father and son dove for the youngest and pulled him down just quick enough for Jake to get grazed in the head by Eliot's bullet.

While Jake was recovering, Alex tracked their brother down to the airport. He was wearing his DEA badge and held his Glock to his twin's head.

"Jake is a live and doesn't remember a thing. But if you ever and I mean ever snipe at him like that again, I will hunt you down and kill you Eliot Spencer Stone" Alex had said coldly into his twin brother's ear.

After that Eliot never returned back to Oklahoma and not even for their mother's funeral.

Chapter 3: Eliot In Trouble

I will not be rewriting his explanation.

Chapter Text

Nate Ford wasn't happy, he was down right pissed off. His hitter who he treated almost like a son, had his enemies in town.

The man that he and his team had put in a San Lorenzo prison was back in the State. He had just gotten off the phone with said man.

Alec Hardison tried and failed to trace the call but Nate hadn't been on the phone long enough to get a trace.

Eliot Spencer was downstairs prepping the Brewpub for the dinner rush as the lunch rush dwindled down to a few people coming and going.

The team had heard the Brewpub's phone ring and one of Eliot's employees had answered.

Then they heard Eliot start to speak. Things must have been said because Parker who was watching Eliot from the vents, said through her comm that Eliot froze and the man for as long as she knew him never froze.

She said Eliot actually looked scared.

Then Eliot had hung up looking defeated before ordering Peter to close the Brewpub.

She watched as Peter passed on Eliot's orders and not too long after, the Brewpub was silent.

Nate called Eliot to come upstairs.

The moment Eliot entered the Leverage office, Nate was in his face and in his personal space.

Before Eliot could say anything to his boss, Nate slapped him across the face hard.

Nobody said a word and nobody moved. And Eliot didn't say anything about Nate slapping him.

Then Eliot Spencer started talking. He was talking loud enough so that the hidden microphones could pick up his words.

For nearly twenty minutes the thirty-six year spoke with only a few pauses here and there. Eliot started crying without tears at one point.

Then Eliot stopped talking for a minute. During that minute Eliot's phone rang. It was Thompson demanding that Eliot continue talking.

Then Eliot got mad. His choice had been taken from him in order to keep his brothers breathing until he and the others could plan a rescue.

Eliot's voice was hard, cold, and angry. He threatened his enemy and then the team gasped as Eliot said that he had nearly caused the death of his baby brother and would have succeeded if hadn't been for his father and twin brother.

Then Eliot stopped talking and for a moment no one knew what the sadden but angry man would do. They watched in silence as their Hitter went around the office and located every hidden microphone. He looked at them and then broke them. He was making sure the microphones that he was breaking were his enemy's and not Hardison's.

Hardison had bugged their office too which were connected to the van. Their offices had been broken into one too many times and after the last time Alec wasn't taking any chances.

"This wouldn't have happened if you had just been up front about all of this Eliot. We could have helped you protect your brothers." Sophie said sounding upset with the long haired man.

Eliot looked at the floor. He allowed the tears to flow down his cheeks but he refused to make any noise.

"You sniped at your baby brother?" Nate shouted at Eliot.

"Alex already shouted at me at the time Nate. He even held his Glock to my head and told me if I sniped at him like I did again, he would hunt me down and kill me himself. What he doesn't know, Nate, that in order for me to visit home, Moreau ordered me to kill all of them before I returned to him. If it hadn't been for Jake locking me in the basement the day I returned home, I am pretty sure I would have killed my family the day I would have returned to Damien. Nate, Jake saved my families lives by attacking me that day. And how do I repay him, Nate? By sniping him. Like I said, I was young and very very stupid." Eliot whispered to Nate as Parker and Hardison were still in the room.

Sophie Devereaux had left to go shopping

They were unsure what they were going to do next. Nate was still mad at Eliot and most likely would be for the rest of the day.

Eliot decided that he needed to make himself scarce for few days so that every one could digest what he had told them.

Nate was most likely going to make him leave the small family he had created for himself.

"Alec I'm going for a walk. I need to get to one of my safe houses. I will be at one of the for the next few days. Don't come looking-" Eliot stopped talking when he felt a finger in his lower back.

That finger was in the same spot as the really bad scar he had gotten by his father whipping him hard 17 times. Eliot forgot what he had done to deserve that punishment. But his father nearly paralyzed him that day.

Sometimes that spot still hurt and right now where that finger was made it hurt.

"Eliot Spencer Stone, where is my boyfriend Jacob "Jake" Stone?" A voice from behind him asked.

His brother's girlfriend's finger dug into the spot deeper. Eliot felt his knees wobble. Alec and Parker stared as Eliot lost his balance and fell forward onto his knees.

"Alright Cassandra that's enough! Spencer you stay where you are." An order came from behind Cassandra. She stopped but didn't remove her finger.

How did Jake's girlfriend know of his weak spot? Eliot thought.

That's when Nate returned with a drink in his hand.

"How did you get in here? This is a private space. Eliot what is going on?" Nate asked.

"Don't know. I just know that the girl behind me with her finger in my lower back is Jake's girlfriend named Cassandra."

Nate raised an eyebrow. "How did you end up on your knees?"

Eliot frowned. Today was just not his day. Hadn't he spilled guts enough today?

Eliot sighed. "My father whipped my hide when I 17, I forget what for, one of the lashes on my lower back, from the whip went deep enough to almost paralyze me. It's the only lash, that my father allowed to be treated by a doctor and it's still scared. It didn't heal right and now if someone like Cassandra digs their fingers in just deep enough, I literally get weak in the knees. I am usually very careful about getting hit there."

Nate winced. His own father belted him and that was it, when he was kid.

"Jones?" Alec asked when he saw the shifty looking kid standing next to Cassandra who still had her finger in Eliot's back.

Ezekiel Jones made to leave when he heard Alec but the blonde grabbed him by the collar.

"Hi Alec, sorry for barging in. Yesterday her boyfriend Jake was kidnapped while someone held a gun to her head. The kidnapper whispered Eliot's name in her ear and she has been trying to find him since." Ezekiel explained.

Cassandra was pissed and Eliot could tell as her boney index finger dug deeper. Eliot hissed in pain and almost fell forward.

"What part of almost paralyzed don't you understand Cassandra?!" Eliot gasped out.

"Cassandra Cillian remove your finger, Spencer gets that you are pissed at him." The blonde said.

"Ok I need names please" Nate said pointing at the blonde.

"Colonel Eve Baird and Spencer if I see you move, Cassie's finger goes back in" Baird said as she saw Eliot shift.

"Yes" Eliot said.

They weren't ready to talk to Eliot yet as they were still waiting for Flynn Carsen to come through the door. Which he did a few minutes later.

"Ok, Flynn's here. Now Eliot Spencer please explain why one of my Librarians was kidnapped while the other had a gun to her head" Baird said.

For umpteenth time today, Eliot Spencer sighed. It really just wasn't his day today.

"My enemies from my dirty past, found my brothers. Before working for Leverage, I worked for Damien Moreau and I spilled my guts to him. After I stopped working for Moreau I went into retrieval. One of my first retrieval jobs was for this guy name Thompson and it went south and he's sort of out for revenge for something I did to him. He's supposed to be in a Russian Prison. I saved my own life by turning him in to the Russian Mob. It's why I don't retrieve people." Eliot explained.

"Alright. Get up Spencer" Baird said. Eliot groaned as he got up on to his feet.

Before he could walk away, Cassandra grabbed him by the arm.

"Sorry for hurting you. Jake told me about the spot. He made it sound like it wouldn't hurt you." Cassandra said as she kissed him on his cheek.

Eliot turned and faced her.

"I will bring him back to you, Cassandra" Eliot said.

With that the Hitter made his way to the door and left the Brewpub for the night.

Eliot grabbed an ice pack for his back on his way out the door.

As he started walking to his car, he heard the distinct sound of a gun cocking back. It really really wasn't his night.

"Hello Spencer"

"Quinn, what are you doing here?" Eliot asked.

Quinn uncocked his gun and turned the safety back on before tucking the gun in its holster.

"It was the only way I thought I could get your attention. I am calling in on that favor you owe me." Quinn said.

"What do you need me to help you with?"

Eliot really wasn't expecting the answer he received.

"What do you know about Jason Vargas?"

Eliot sighed.

"My twin brother knows more about the guy than I do. I would point you in the direction of my brother Alex Walker former DEA but he is currently in the hands of my enemies. Along with my thirty-two year old brother, Jake. Anyway the only thing I really know about the man is that he prefers to waterboard or drowns his victims." Eliot said with a hiss.

Quinn frowned at the hiss of pain that Eliot made.

"You hurt?"

Eliot told Quinn what his father had done and how he was almost paralyzed before he could stop himself.

"Fuck and a doctor can't fix it without the risk of actually paralyzing you?" Quinn said.

Eliot nodded in agreement. "So no poking or prodding me in the lower back, Quinn."

Quinn agreed and even told Eliot he would keep that tidbit of information on him out of the Hitter's Circles he ran in. But now he knew how to stop Eliot just in case he needed to.

"Quinn the favor?"

"Oh, I need your help retrieving a person for a guy named Thompson"

Eliot froze and paled at the same time.

It just wasn't his night.

"Quinn?" Eliot said looking at the other Retrieval Specialist.

"Yeah?"

"Fuck off and find a different job retrieval. I know who the man is after and I know who she is with and I almost lost body parts doing it. Who she is with is her father. Thompson still loves his ex-wife. Nobody knows this not even my team, The Russian Mob owes me a favor. I don't feel like paying it yet, so do yourself a favor and fuck off."

Quinn stared at the older man in disbelief as Eliot disappeared in to the night.

The man was full of dark secrets and apparently his past was coming back to bite Eliot in the ass.

Quinn also what body parts Eliot almost lost and what he did to get The Russian Mob to owe Eliot Spencer of all people, a favor.

Chapter 4: The Flashback

Summary:

This chapter is about Eliot's first retrieval job. And how he got the Russian Mob to owe him a favor.

Notes:

This whole chapter will be italics.

Chapter Text

It had been a few weeks since he left Damien Moreau's employment. He had left the man's employment the day after he had turned thirty-four.

He didn't tell Moreau the reason for leaving, but Eliot knew the man had an idea as to why. Eliot had gone back to Oklahoma to visit his family for a few days. Eliot  hadn't been totally welcomed back by his last living brother Jake when Eliot had returned to Damien's side. Eliot had explained that Jake had attacked him and locked him in the Stone basement for a few days but he escaped and sniped his brother dead. Which was a lie both his brothers were a live and Damien would never know that.

The sniping of Jake had shown him the monster he was becoming and his heart told him he needed to stop before he actually did kill someone he truly loved.

His thoughts were broken when he heard his cell phone ring. He had turned to retrieving things for people instead of killing.

His phone rang twice before he answered it.

"Eliot Spencer, my name is Thompson. I need you to retrieve someone for me in Russia. Five figures on retrieval. What you say?"

Five figures was less than what Moreau paid him but he was will to negotiate the salary.

"I want seven figures on retrieval seeing that where I'm going is Russia. Russia is a very unforgiving Country, Mr. Thompson." Eliot said.

Thompson agreed to seven figures on retrieval and sent Eliot a picture of a very pretty woman who couldn't be much older than twenty-nine years of age.

He regretted not asking for more information about the person he was retrieving.

Knowing that the man never gave him a full name, just gave his last name. Eliot Spencer should have known something was off the moment the man introduced himself over the phone.

Seeing his one time employer in person though was a different story. The man gave him the creeps and Eliot Spencer wasn't a person who got the creeps, he was the man who gave them.

Thompson had traveled to Russia with Eliot and agreed to wait for him at the fancy Russian Hotel that Eliot would never use on one of his past jobs.

There was something about Thompson that bugged him and for the life of him, he couldn't figure out why.

It took him two days to locate the person he was retrieving for Thompson and he immediately knew his retrieval job was about to go south.

Eliot Spencer knew it was over the moment he felt someone grab him from behind. While he knew he didn't have the brains that Jake did, Eliot was smart enough to know when he should and shouldn't fight back.

The Russian forced Eliot to turn around a look at him.

Eliot recognized the Russian Mob Enforcer  and swore.

His hands were zip tied behind his back and he was gagged. Then he knew no more for the next fifteen minutes.

When Eliot came to, he found himself chained to a chair and missing his pants and his underpants.

"Fuck" Eliot thought as he was hit upside the head.

"Mr. Spencer, I know who you are but I am unsure of what you are trying to take from me." The Head of the Russian said.

Eliot glowered at his captor but didn't say anything. He had been trained in various Torture techniques during his Black Ops days.

"I know you that torture won't work on you because of your Black Ops background. So I will just ask you. If you are honest with me, you will walk away with all your body parts. If you are not, well let me just ask you, do you want kids in your future? And then I will take your left hand just because I can." The Mobster said.

Well that explained his missing pants and boxers. Eliot gulped but he wasn't scared.

"Who is the girl?" Eliot asked.

The mobster looked at him in surprise. "Your employer didn't tell you who she was?"

"No, all I know that my employer's name is Thompson."

Eliot was shocked at the Mobster's response. The Russian swore in Russian for several minutes. Then the Russian nodded to someone behind Eliot.

"Give him back his pants and boxers and then release him from his binds."

With in seconds, Eliot was dressed and he was released from the chair. Eliot however didn't move, he knew the mobster wanted something from him.

A minute or so later, The Mobster spoke.

"Thompson is my daughter's ex-husband. He is an abuser and a cheater. Thompson is a monster. I have some pull in with the cops. Bring me Thompson and I and my men will owe the great Eliot Spencer, a favor. I will also pay what Thompson owes you" The Russian said.

In the end Eliot Spencer turned Thompson in to the Russian mob who a few days later turned a badly beaten Thompson over to the police.

The last Eliot heard, the man was missing a couple of fingers too.

Eliot left Russia, seven figures richer that day with a favor from the Russian Mob being owed to him.

A Favor he never wanted  to be paid unless he really needed help.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

It took Jason Vargas two days to arrive in Portland. It took him another day to arrive at the Warehouse, where Eliot Spencer's enemies were holding his two brothers prisoners.

Jason Vargas and his own men entered the warehouse.

"Welcome Mr. Vargas" Thompson said. Vargas looked at the slightly older man and sneered.

"I see the Russians weren't too kind on you Mr. Thompson. Now I would like to see Alex Walker. He is the reason I am here right?" Vargas said.

"Now, Jason, wouldn't you like to see the other prisoner I have too?" Thompson said sweating slightly. Vargas scared him a bit.

"Who else do you have, Thompson?"

Thompson looked at two of his men and nodded.

Jake Stone was shoved forward. Jake stumbled and then fell to his knees.

"Who is this?" Vargas snapped at Thompson.

"That is Jake Stone and is Alex Walker's little brother. He looks like Alex but he is four years younger than him. He's a lot smarter than Walker." Thompson said.

Vargas looked down at Jake who kept his eyes on the floor.

"Look at me kid!" Vargas ordered.

Jake looked up and gasped. He tried to shuffle backwards but the two men who had shoved him, grabbed him by the shoulders and Jake stilled.

"So, you do know who I am." Vargas said laughing and then he turned to Thompson.

"Show me Alex Walker now, Thompson" Vargas demanded.

"Mark! Bring in the DEA Agent!" Thompson shouted at someone behind him.

When Vargas saw the way they had tied Alex up, he knew Alex wasn't going anywhere.

They had gagged him tightly. Vargas was pretty certain that there was a handkerchief shoved down the man's throat and tied to the one that went over his mouth.

There was a collar around the man's neck with two long chains chained to it. Two men were holding those chains. They had chained Alex's hands behind his back and to his belt loops where there was also a chain in his belt loops. Vargas saw that were two long chain also chained to the chain in the man's belt loops. Those chains were wrapped around each of Alex's legs and chained to his ankles.

"What happened?" Vargas asked as Alex was forced to his knees. He had seen the bullet hole in Alex's leg too.

"He tried to escape a few minutes after we got him here from the Philippines." One of Alex's guards explained.

Jason ignored the two men that were kneeling front of him and looked around the warehouse.

"Who are all these people, Thompson?" Jason asked frowning at one of the men.

"Oh, these people are enemies of Eliot Spencer Stone" Damien Moreau answered for Thompson.

"Leave Eliot alone!" Jake shouted at Moreau who looked at Jake in surprise.

"Aren't you supposed to be you know dead?" Moreau asked briefly forgetting that Eliot had lied to him about his two brothers being dead.

"Eliot missed" Jake said after a minute.

Damien growled, he didn't like that this kid wasn't scared of him. Jake was braver than Eliot who was terrified of Moreau.

Moreau knelt down in front of Jake and forced Jake's head to the right, so he could see where Eliot had missed.

"Who saved your life kid?"

Jake glared at the man. But Moreau had this thing about him where he could make you talk whether you wanted to or not.

"Alex and my father did" Jake said.

Moreau looked over to where Alex still knelt in front of his own enemy, Jason Vargas.

"Did Eliot miss your head too?" Moreau asked angrily.

Alex nodded carefully. The collar around his neck was tight and it made breathing through his nose hard.

"Where did Eliot shoot you if not the head?" Moreau asked Alex.

Alex tilted his head to his right shoulder.

Moreau pulled a knife. Alex flinched back as the man came at him. The two men holding him by the collar's chains held him still.

Moreau sliced Alex's shirt away on his right side. The bullet wound had scarred.

Then without any warning what so ever, Moreau shoved his knife into the exact spot where Eliot had shot Alex.

Alex gagged on his scream as Moreau twisted the knife harshly.

Moreau slowly pulled his knife out of Alex's shoulder.

"Chain him to the floor by his collar's chains tightly. Everyone who isn't me, Jake Stone, Alex Walker Stone, Jason Vargas, and Thompson, go one patrol around the warehouse, report to Thompson if you see anything" Moreau ordered.

All of Eliot's enemies scrambled out except for those Moreau had named.

Moreau turned back to Jake who had turned paler than he already was, heard Jake whimpering.

"You will watch this Jake Stone. You will scream when I demand you to. You will cry when I tell you to. You will only speak when I tell you to, do you understand?" Moreau demanded.

Now Jake was terrified of Moreau.

Jake nodded and Moreau slapped him. "Speak!"

"Yes, sir I understand sir." Jake said quietly.

The gag was removed from Alex's mouth and Jake stared in horror as is big brother gasped for air and then threw up what little was in his stomach.

"Do whatever you need to do Vargas but do not kill him. We still need him alive after all. Oh and someone gag the younger brother, I don't want him speaking yet. Gag him like you did Alex." Moreau said before leaving with Thompson following him.

In the office that Thompson had once claimed as his, Damien sat behind the desk pointing a gun at Thompson's head.

"You sicken me Thompson. I should be letting Eliot kill you. I heard that the Russians owe him a favor for not retrieving your twenty-nine year old wife, you pervert. I like younger women but I only watch never ever touch. I am taking charge of your operation Thompson. And I am going to be doing Eliot a favor by killing you myself!" Moreau said as he pulled the trigger.

Thompson was dead before he hit the ground. A bullet between the eyes. Damien Moreau was the last person Thompson saw as the light in his eyes went out.

Damien pulled a walkie from his pocket.

"Somebody come and remove Thompson's body from my office and deliver it to Eliot Spencer's office." Damien ordered.

By the time Damien Moreau returned to where Vargas was now waterboarding Alex, Jake was crying silently.

While Moreau hadn't ordered the younger brother to cry, he allowed him to because it was silent.

"Let him breathe,Vargas, I need to ask Alex a question." Moreau said.

Alex coughed up water from his lungs, Moreau smiled when he saw Alex had coughed up a little blood too. A rib or two must be broken.

Moreau grabbed Alex by the collar and forced him to look up at him.

"Where is your big brother's office Walker?" Moreau asked.

Alex coughed again and water landed on Moreau's face. Alex flinched.

The boys were learning to be scared of him. Moreau thought.

"Tell me or Vargas waterboards Jake until he drowns!" Moreau demanded.

"Eliot's office is about four hours a way from here, sir" Alex whispered.

Moreau nodded and turned to Jake.

"You will go with one of Eliot's enemies name Daniel Bandit. You two will take Thompson's body and drop in front of your brother's office. Jake don't try anything if you do and I find out about it, Alex dies. Do you understand me?" Moreau said.

Jake nodded as he was still gagged.

Moreau turned to Jake's cuffed hands and released him.

Daniel Bandit grabbed Jake from behind. The gag had been left where it was.

When Jake entered Moreau's office and saw the body he didn't react. He just listened to the older man's orders and grabbed the dead man by his legs.

Four hours later the two arrive at the Brewpub.

Daniel made Jake who was still gagged dump the body at the door where there was a security camera that Daniel didn't know about but Jake did.

Jake in his own way was keeping track of his brother. Ezekiel Jones was a bit better than Alec Hardison when it came to hacking.

He also knew because Jones knew this, that Alec always watched his security cameras.

Jake Stone looked up at Alec's camera and signed something that only Eliot and Cassie would know how to read and then he left.

Alarms were blaring inside the Leverage Office space, waking up everyone who was there.

Alec Hardison quickly turned the alarms off and typed something into his computer.

"Dammit Hardison!" said Eliot Spencer who had gone home for about two hours before realizing he was leaving his team, his family unprotected, had returned to the office.

"Sorry but someone tripped a camera and got it!" Alec said bringing up the footage on the bigger screen for everyone to see.

Eliot looked at the footage and knew. He just knew somebody had made his innocent little brother dump a body at the door.

Then Eliot frowned. Alec never got the camera angle right for the front door. The only working camera was the side door. Nobody but the Leverage team knew about that camera.

So how did Jake know?

"He's gagged! Oh god, someone gagged him!" a voice from behind him said loudly.

Cassandra Cillian was standing behind him and watched as his brother looked at the camera.

"What did he sign before he left?" Nate asked. While Nate understood American Sign Language, he couldn't really explain what people said when they would sign to him.

"Play it again Hardison but a bit slower" Eliot said and watched the scene play out once more.

"He said that he and Alex are about four hours away. Thompson is dead. Moreau is in charge." Cassie said before Eliot could.

Before anyone could say anything else, Eliot's phone buzzed.

Eliot looked down at his phone.

It was from Moreau. The man must have gotten his number from Thompson before he was killed.

He opened the text. Moreau had sent a video.

"Hello Eliot by now you know I am in charge of Thompson's little operation."

The camera turned to people who were chained to the floor. Both of them were facing the camera.

"Alex was being punished while Jake watched. Both started flinching when I came close to them. Jake is under my command at the moment. He will not talk, he will not scream, and he will not cry unless it's silent. Jake will only make noise if I tell him to.

You lied to me Spencer. I know that you shot Alex in the shoulder when I told you to kill him. You attempted to kill Jake but your brother and father saved him.

Turn yourself into me and finish the job you started two years ago. For now enjoy the new Jobs that your enemies are sure to be giving your team. In order for this to stop all you have to do is turn yourself into me and finish the job you started!"

The video ended and everyone including Flynn, Cassie, Ezekiel, and Baird could see the man's shoulders shaking and his bottom lip trembling.

Eliot started breathing heavily. He was trying really hard not to cry.

Then Cassie's phone rang. She answered it.

"Hello?"

"Is this Cassandra Cillian?"

"Yes, I sent in some blood samples right?"

"Miss. Cillian you are a couple of weeks pregnant. Congratulations. You can make an appointment with OB soon."

Cassie smiled as she hung up. Park slipped Cassie's phone from Cassie's pocket.

"Good news?" Flynn asked.

"Yes, very good news during this dark time" Cassie said as she left the room without telling the group why her news was good.

"We can always find out" Parker said tossing Hardison Cassie's phone.

"I thought we didn't con our team Parker?" Eliot said holding out his hand for Cassie's phone.

Parker attempted the puppy dog look but it was Eliot and she couldn't get anything past him.

"Fine but you are no fun." Parker said handing Eliot the phone.

Eliot smirked at Parker who he saw as his younger sister these days, "I know Parker, I know" Eliot said as he left the room to return the phone to Cassie.

Eliot returned the phone to Cassie and then left.

He needed to make two phone calls. One those calls would be to the police and the other was to Quinn.

He quickly explained to the police about the body that had been dumped on the Brewpub's patio. Cops and an ambulance arrived in minutes.

Eliot was questioned but wasn't taken down town. He told the cops what he knew and made them aware who had touched the body and why he had touched the body.

He also made them aware whose body it was.

After that he said nothing and walked away.

Eliot called Quinn about Thompson and what was happening.

"Quinn, I need your help. No, Quinn I refuse to. Because you asshole its the Russians and they will most likely ask for something in return. Yea see ya soon" Eliot said.

By the time he returned to the Brewpub, the cops were gone along with Thompson's body.

After that Eliot dropped to his knees and did something he hadn't done since he was that 18 year old with a flag on his arm and God in his heart.

He prayed to a God he wasn't sure he still believed in. There was thunder in the distance and then the rain fell, but Eliot didn't move. He prayed while it rained.

He felt the all the blood he had on his hands wash away. He felt a hand on his shoulder but he knew no one was behind him.

"Rise Eliot Spencer Stone"

Eliot opened his eyes a little while later. The sun was shining and the sky was clear.

Then felt something he hadn't felt in a long time not since he was 18. He felt lighter, he felt cleaner, he felt forgiven for the horrible things he did, but most of all he felt redeemed.

For the first time in years, Eliot Spencer Stone felt he was deserving of his own happiness.

He was smiling all the way back to the Brewpub. He was whistling when he entered his kitchen. For now he wouldn't let anything negative get to him. For now he would hold on tight to the feeling he was having.

Two hours later, Eliot brought trays of food up to the Leverage Office.

All of his friends and his new ones stared at Eliot.

"Ok who are you and what have you done to Eliot?" Alec Hardison asked.

Eliot smiled brightly at him as he put his tray's down.

"Today is going to be a good day. Enjoy." Eliot said and left for his bedroom.

The feelings would stay with him 'till his dying day.

But first he would wake up the next morning feeling like he got hit by a car.

But those feelings would stick with him. The feeling of being lighter, the feeling of being cleaner, the feeling of being forgiven, and but most of all the feeling of being redeemed.

They would stick with him forever.

Notes:

After the shit I put Eliot through in this chapter, I decided he deserved something good happening.

What's more deserving than being forgiven by God?
Also this chapter is the only time God is mentioned.

Chapter Text

Ever since, Jake Stone showed Damien Moreau that he wasn't terrified of him (Jake is scared but not terrified), he became obsessed with making the kid terrified of him.

Damien Moreau and Jason Vargas had also spread Eliot's enemies through out Portland.

With his brothers in the hands of two masterminds that weren't Nate Ford, Leverage's main focus was planning a rescue of Eliot's brothers.

Right now, Moreau was keeping an eye on Eliot's Enemies and keeping an eye on Leverage.

The two others that weren't part of the Leverage team, he knew were Cassandra Cillian and Ezekiel Jones.

Cassandra Cillian was Jake's girlfriend he knew because he was the one who had sent men after Jake.

Ezekiel Jones had been on Damien Moreau's radar since the kid had turned Eighteen. He thought Ezekiel would be a good fit for his team. But he could never keep up with him.

"I wonder what Jake and Eliot would do if I told them I had my eye on the thief since he was a teenager." Moreau asked himself looking over at Jake Stone who was still asleep but chained to Moreau's desk by his ankles.

Jake was still gagged. That only way that gag was coming off was by Moreau taking it off.

Moreau chuckled when he heard Jake let out muffled whimpers.

The kid sounded like a dog.

Moreau turned back to his computer. One of Eliot's enemies was a hacker. For goodness sake Eliot how do become friends with a Hacker but enemies with another? Moreau had thought when the man had told him what he could do with a computer.

He had the man hack into the cameras that Hardison had set up around the Brewpub.

He smirked when he saw Eliot shake hands with his enemy apparently the man (Eliot's Enemy) had gotten older and his face had changed a bit to the point where Eliot couldn't recognize him.

There was a true smile on Eliot's face and Moreau could see a change in Eliot's stance.

A noise interrupted Moreau's thoughts when he felt Jake kick out. Yep, the kid was just like a puppy.

Moreau sighed and turned off his computer. Eliot wasn't interesting anymore. The man had changed since he last saw him.

Moreau growled and kicked Jake in the gut. Jake let out a muffled groan but didn't wake up.

"Wake up Stone!" Moreau said grabbing Jake and shaking him.

Jake Stone was disoriented when he woke. He couldn't remember where he was.

He looked around then his eyes found Moreau's and everything came rushing back.

Jake shrank back.

"Where you think you're going kid?" Moreau asked unchaining Jake from his desk since he was now awake.

Jake glared but shrugged. He really wanted to say something but Moreau hadn't removed the gag yet.

"I think Vargas had something planned for Alex today. Want to go and see? I might even take the gag off, if you are a good boy."

"Who or what does this man think I am? A puppy?" Jake thought. He really wanted the gag off.

"Nod if you are going to be a good boy and the gag comes off until you do something stupid. You aren't stupid are you?" Moreau said knowing very well how high this man's IQ was.

Jake nodded indicating that he was going to be 'a good boy' but shook his head no indicating he wasn't going to do anything stupid nor was he stupid.

Moreau lead Jake from the office and back into the main area of the warehouse.

In the main area of the warehouse, Alex had been chained to the wall by the collar's chains.

He hadn't slept. He was worried about not just himself but he was also worried about Jake.

While he knew Jake was a Bar Brawler, he wasn't much of a fighter. Their Momma bless her heart had seen to that. She hadn't allowed Jake to take any Martial Arts class, when they were growing up.

But she had allowed the Twins to take Martial Arts.

Eliot was a second degree Black Belt in Karate the last time Alex checked but now knowing what he knew, Eliot  was a Mixed Martial Artist.

He was brought out of his thoughts by a kick to his bullet wounded leg.

Alex hissed in pain and looked up to see who kicked him.

Moreau.

Alex glared at him.

"Where's Jake?" Alex asked.

"The puppy?" Moreau asked. Alex looked at Moreau in a mix of what looked like pain and surprise.

"You are going to mentally abuse my brother?" Alex asked.

Moreau nodded and pulled Jake by his shirt collar so Alex could see him.

"Remove the gag, please" Alex said.

Moreau removed the gag and Jake looked up at his abuser.

"You may talk but remember you do anything stupid like noisily cry, it goes back on. You may cry silently though."

This was mental abuse not just verbal or physical abuse. It was mental. They needed to get out of here before it got worse.

Moreau left the brothers alone but left some of his men about some feet away, with orders to gag Jake if he so much as started to cry noisily.

"Jake?" Alex whispered. His voice was full of concern. The last time he ever saw Jake like this was when Eliot had Sniped at him. Jake hadn't spoken until he knew Eliot wasn't coming back. Jake had suffered nightmares and night terrors. For two full weeks Alex stayed at the house.

Jake turned and looked at his big brother.

"Shit"

The mental abuse was starting to plant its evil seed and Alex could see it.

"Jake he gave you permission to speak to me. You aren't a puppy" Alex said with emphasis on the word permission.

Jake sighed and then instead of speaking, Jake silently cried into his brother's good shoulder.

If Eliot didn't kill Damien Moreau, Alex would.

Jake finally stopped crying.

"Alright?"

"No" Jake whispered so softly that it sounded like a whimper.

"Dammit" Alex thought.

"How did you sleep?"

Jake looked at Alex with a raised eyebrow.

"Right, stupid question."

"This isn't good right Alex?" Jake asked feeling stupid for whining at his brother. He was scared.

"No, Jake its not."

Before either of them could say anything, a man came up to the brothers.

He shoved Jake away and unchained Alex from the wall. He dragged Alex by the collar and chained him to the floor face down.

Alex knew by the look on Jake's face what was about to happen. Jake wanted to scream but wasn't allowed to as the gag would go back on.

The man pulled Alex's pants and boxers down. Alex shivered as the man whispered what he was going to do.

"You make a move on my prisoner Zachary Johnson and not even Eliot will find you." Jason Vargas said as he entered the main part of the warehouse.

The man named Zachary got off of Alex and Alex sighed in relief.

But the relief didn't last. He heard Jake gag. Alex looked at Jake as Moreau came back and redid Jake's gag.

"Moreau is going to make him watch! Oh god" Alex thought.

Dry fingers entered his crevice and Alex gasped in pain.

"Jake turn away oh god please Jake turn away" Alex thought.

"You are mine Alex Walker Stone" Vargas whispered in to his ear.

Alex woke up screaming. He couldn't move and panicked a bit before realizing he was chained to the floor lying down.

The whole thing from Jake being mentally abused to Vargas raping him it had been a bad dream. It had been a very bad dream.

Someone stood over him and Alex looked up.

"Bad dream Alex?" Vargas snarked. He couldn't help it, he flinched away from his enemy.

Vargas smirked and nodded at some people standing behind Alex.

"What do you want Vargas?" Alex asked as the two men behind him redid his chains so he chained to floor by the collar on his knees.

Vargas didn't answer Alex's question. Instead Vargas asked one of his own.

"Did you know that Moreau has plans for Jake?" Vargas asked.

Alex flashed back to where Jake cried silently in his nightmare and gulped worriedly.

"Mental Abuse?" Alex asked.

Vargas frowned and grabbed Alex roughly by the collar.

"How did you know Walker?" Vargas screamed at him.

"Moreau was mentally abusing Jake in my nightmare. I guessed. Moreau seemed impressed that Jake isn't terrified of him or you. Hell even I'm terrified of you!" Alex said.

Vargas laughed.

"Good morning Vargas. Good morning Alex." Moreau said from behind Alex causing him to jump slightly.

Moreau walked around to the front of Alex. Alex looked around for his brother.

"Where's Jake?"

"The puppy? Did you know he kicks, whines, and whimpers in his sleep? Just like a puppy. How old is your brother anyway?" Moreau said.

Alex growled. Eliot had rubbed off on him when he ran into him in Spain, right before Todd's betrayal. They had apologized to each other. They did a retrieval job together and then went their separate ways.

"Moreau, where is Jake? Where is my brother?" Alex asked urgently. His imagination was kicking in to overload and if he wasn't careful he could pass out. "Stupid Heart condition" Alex thought.

He wasn't completely recovered from his Hypertension. And being near Vargas and Moreau wasn't helping.

Moreau nodded over to one of the guards.

Alex watches as Jake who is still gagged, is pulled over to them.

"Kneel Jake" Moreau said. Jake kneeled beside Alex.

"Can you remove Jake's gag. He knows how to cry silently, sir" Alex said. Jake looked hopeful. He was scared but his big brother was here too.

At thirty-two, Jake was scared of a man like Moreau. Moreau expected him to be terrified of him like Eliot was.

No what terrified Jake the most were the spiders that were feet long and had infested the French Cooking Section of the Library. Jenkins never got that bug spray.

Moreau reached for Jake's gag. Jake flinched thinking the man was going to hit him.

"You may speak Jake. Silently cry if you need to you baby" Moreau said laughing as he and Vargas left to go have their breakfast in Moreau's office.

Jake's stomach growled as did Alex's.

Jake cried silently into Alex's good shoulder for a good ten minutes.

"Wanna go home." Jake whispered.

"Shh, I know Jake, I know." Alex said laying his chin on Jake's head. Oh how Alex wanted to hug his thirty-two year old brother.

"Eliot is going to kill them right?" Jake asked. Alex froze. How do you explain to your younger brother who can't remember that his older brother who tried and failed to kill him, doesn't kill any more?

"Jake what do you recall when Eliot last returned home for a visit?" Alex asked.

"I attacked him and knocked him out because he shot you. I locked him in the basement and beaten him up some more and then left him there for a few days why?"

"Jake, Eliot escaped from the basement on day three. It took him a hour to find his Sniper Rifle he left there from the Army. Then he went up on a hill and hid from view. Jake your back was towards him. Pop and I saw his scope in the sun, just as he pulled the trigger. Jake the only reason you aren't dead and Eliot's shot missed, is because Pop and I pulled you aside just as the bullet grazed your head. After that he packed his rifle and left. I tracked him down and told him you were alive and didn't remember a thing. I held my gun to his head and threatened him. If he ever tried to snipe you again, I would track him down and I kill him myself. Eliot never came back." Alex said.

Jake had tears in his eyes and he raised a chained hand to the side of his head where Eliot's bullet just grazed him.

"You mean?"

"Yep, you are the reason he doesn't kill anymore. But I think in this case he might pick up his rifle again." Alex said.

Jake silently laughed. Alex just stared at him.

"Why is my brother so weird?"

Eliot Spencer groaned as he woke up. He felt like he got hit by a car last night. The weird thing was he felt great.

Then he recalled what happened, before he went to bed.

Eliot still felt that hand on his right shoulder. He felt clean, lighter, forgiven, and redeemed. Eliot smiled a real happy smile.

His team was helping him plan a rescue to get his brothers back and Cassie had received some great news that she still had yet to share.

Eliot stretched and got up. He showered and then got dressed.

Eliot entered the kitchen and found that Nathan Ford was already the kitchen table drinking his morning coffee.

"Morning Nate." Eliot said cheerfully.

Nate raised an eyebrow. This couldn't be Eliot Spencer.

"Who are you?"

Eliot paused.

"Am not allowed to be cheerful?" Eliot asked. He knew his brothers were in danger. He knew they were four hours away from the Brewpub. Quinn was on his way to Portland. Quinn was finishing a Job in LA and would be at the Brewpub by Dinner time.

What was wrong with him being cheerful?

"The Eliot Spencer that I know growls and never smiles before his first cup of Coffee or Tea. So I will ask again-"

"I prayed last night while I was out. Somebody touched me but there was nobody there. They called me by my full name Eliot Spencer Stone. I feel different Nate. Like I never got my hands dirty. I like that kid who has a flag on his arm and God in his Heart, I found him last night Nate. I feel clean, lighter, forgiven for my past dirty deeds and best of all Nate, I feel redeemed, like I have second chance to make things right. It's not going to go away either." Eliot said.

Nate frowned. "As long as you feel like you can do your job."

"Look I might feel different today than I three days ago, Nate, but I am still me." Eliot argued.

Nate smirked and Eliot smiled. "That's all I needed to see Eliot" Nate said turning back to his Coffee.

Sophie Devereaux entered the kitchen next. She smiled at Eliot and immediately noticed the change in the Hitter's stance.

He didn't look very tense and had this look of relief on his face. He also looked ten years younger than his thirty-six years.

"Something happen to you last night Eliot?" Sophie asked as she made herself some tea.

"Yeah and it's a positive thing. I found my old self again. The self that was clean. I found my 18 year old self again." Eliot said proudly.

Sophie just smiled knowingly.

Hardison entered the kitchen with a yawn. "I heard what ya told Sophie and I'm happy for you Eliot. You deserve it." Hardison said smiling at the man he saw as his big brother.

"Eliot I want Pancakes!" Parker said as she flopped on a chair near by.

"Already starting darlin." Eliot said.

Cassie and Ezekiel came in.

"Coffee?" Nate asked Cassie.

Cassie shook her head. "Eliot is there any orange juice?" Cassie asked as she plopped next to Parker.

Eliot stared at his brother's girlfriend. Cassie had this glow about her that he was too busy to notice last night.

"Yes" Eliot said as he flipped Parker's pancakes. Cassie got up and poured herself a glass of juice.

"Alec someone's hack your cameras" Ezekiel said.

Hardison frowned. The twenty-two year old Hacker/Thief had to be messing with him.

"Flynn and Baird returned to the Library. Baird thinks we are protected enough by Eliot." Cassie said as she read a text from her phone from Flynn.

"You two staying here?" Hardison asked.

"I just said that" Cassie said.

Hardison shook his head.

"Anyway I received some awesome news last night. Jake is going to be a Daddy! Eliot I want you to be in our kids life as he or she's Uncle." Cassie said ignoring Eliot's surprised look.

The room had gone silent.

"Guys what is it?" Cassie asked slightly frightened of the silence.

"Does Jake know?" Eliot asked a frown had snuck its way on to his face.

"No. That where he and I were heading when he was kidnapped. I called to let them know we weren't coming in." Cassie said sadly.

"That's who called you last night? The Hospital to let you know that you were going to have a baby?" Parker asked squealing.

Cassie nodded. She suddenly wasn't very hungry or happy anymore.

Eliot noticed and went over to her.

"Come with me" Eliot said holding out his large hand for Cassie to take.

Eliot lead her downstairs and outside. He lead her to his hidden sanctuary on the roof.

"Talk to me, Cassie. What are you feeling?"

Chapter 7: Bring Back The Dead

Summary:

Cassie explains her worries to Eliot.

Eliot kills 'Eliot Spencer' and resurrects Eliot Stone. Eliot is still the Hitter and he still gets angry. He just doesn't have the killer inside him anymore.

Notes:

For this story I am making Eliot have a split personality.

Crap had happened to Eliot Stone in the Desert. So he had in a way died and Eliot Spencer was born, to protect Stone.

When I am talking about Eliot Spencer, I will be calling him Spencer with his name in Italics.

When I am talking about Eliot Stone, I will be using Eliot Stone.

Chapter Text

There was something about being outside in the fresh air, that calmed the worrying young woman in front of Eliot Spencer, down.

"Once upon a time Jake would tell you I was a good listener. The last time I saw Jake, it was two years ago. He had attacked me because Alex who is my twin brother, told him, I shot my twin. It was the only time he caught me off guard. He was able to over power me and knock me out. I came to in the basement of our house, cuffed to a metal pole. Jake knocked me around a bit and then left me there for a few days."

Cassie looked at the older man. He was looked different from the man she had dropped to his knees, earlier last night.

Eliot sighed.

"Cassie, when I escaped the basement on day three, I went looking for my sniper's rifle. When I found it, I hid on a hill. It was the perfect place to snipe from. If it hadn't been for my father and Alex, Jake would be dead. Cassie I tried to kill him because the person I worked for told me to kill my family before I returned to him" Eliot said as he turned away from the red head.

"I have read about you Eliot Spencer. You were a Hitman for hire a few years ago, but something happened that made you stop. You stopped killing after the attempt you made on Jake. Eliot Stone, I trust you."

Eliot gave her a goofy smile. A smile he hadn't given to anyone in a very long time.

"I am worried because like I said Jake doesn't know that he is going to be a Father. If he doesn't get the chance to know, I want you to be my baby's God-Father. I don't want to raise the baby by myself." Cassie said.

Eliot stared at her. "Was this the reason his conscience felt clean?"

"Were his brothers not going to survive their imprisonment?"

"Cassie?" Eliot asked as he reached over to the red head.

She was crying.

"Cassie, listen to me, Jake and Alex will be ok. We will get them back." Eliot said.

"Will this Eliot get Jake and Alex back or will Spencer  get them back" Cassie asked.

Eliot just stared at her. When had she stopped calling him Eliot Spencer?

"Spencer?"

"Jake told me a bit about you growing up. He told me you hated your middle name growing up. You told him before  you left for the Army, the reason why."

"Can you tell me?" Eliot asked. Something about the conversation had changed and he didn't know how. The conversation started out about Cassandra but now it had become about him.

"You told him that Spencer made you sound like someone you weren't." Cassie said as she got up to leave.

Eliot was stunned. He didn't remember any of that.

As she left, Eliot thought about what she said as those memories of being 18 came back to him.

As he recalled the conversation he had had with Jake the day he had left for Bootcamp, Eliot started to cry.

A few minutes later, he pulled out his phone.

"Hardison, are you able to change my name on my birth certificate?"

There was silence on the other end of his call for a minute.

"Why?"

"I need to kill Eliot Spencer. Eliot Stone is coming home from that Desert Hell I left him in." Eliot said darkly.

The day he had left Eliot Stone in the Desert, was the day his whole unit except for a few of them and himself were killed in an ambush. His team and him had been captured by the enemy.

Eliot Stone had been tortured and raped. Eliot Stone had been forced to watch as his men, his brothers in arms were tortured and then executed.

In two weeks Eliot Stone was dead and his place Eliot Spencer was born.

Eliot Stone had been twenty when he died.

Eliot Spencer had been born at the age of twenty.

Now Sixteen years later Eliot Stone was returning from the dead.

This was happening all because of a prayer and his brother's redheaded girlfriend.

Eliot deserved to be happy.

Chapter 8: A Split Personality

Summary:

Eliot has a Split personality.
Eliot Stone explains himself.
Quinn snipes through Leverage's window, then call's Eliot.
Eliot calls Damien.

Notes:

I am giving Eliot a spilt personality for this story because, Spencer and Stone are two different people.

Eliot Stone is the boy with a flag on his shoulders and God in his heart. He is kind and lovable. But he can still be growly and angry when he needs to be.

Eliot Spencer is the guy who lost the flag on his shoulders and God in his heart. But due to recent events has found them again. This man will always be growly and angry.

I also gave the LEVERAGE Brewpub a kitchen in their office because of family dinner and they most likely like their privacy.

When I am talking about Eliot Spencer- I will be referring to him as Spencer with the name in bold and italic letters.

Chapter Text

Just because he was killing someone his team had grown to love, it didn't mean that he still wasn't their Hitter. Eliot Stone could still get angry. He could still fight and most of all Spencer was still there if he really needed to bring him out.

Eliot Stone was not like Eliot Spencer. To Eliot, Eliot Spencer was a man who had lost his faith in humanity and felt like he had been almost forgotten in a way.

Eliot Stone was a boy who had in a way died. That's why Eliot Spencer was born. Spencer was born to protect the rest of Stone's mind. Because Eliot Stone had broken in that god forsaken desert.

But now Eliot had a new problem. A problem that just might kill him physically and mentally.

Damien Moreau had sent Spencer's enemies all over Portland, Oregon.

Eliot Stone was somewhat aware that one of His enemies was in the Brewpub and was most likely reporting to either Damien or Vargas.

While he was bringing his true self back from 'dead', he knew he couldn't act with Stone's personality in front of Spencer's enemies.

Eliot sighed, he hated this. He as Spencer should have just killed Thompson when he felt how off he felt about the man.

No instead Spencer had let the man live and make friends for the two years the man was in that Russian Prison.

Eliot grew angry.

Over the years Eliot had developed a personality disorder without even realizing it. While he might have killed Eliot Stone physically, mentally Eliot Stone had sat hidden deep in the back of Spencer's head, healing from his time as a captive in the desert for the last sixteen years.

Now Eliot Stone was mentally healed. With Spencer's mental help over the years, Eliot was able to heal mentally from his time as a prisoner.

It was time for Eliot Spencer to take a back seat and heal as well.

When Eliot came down from the roof, he felt stronger mentally, like he had regained something that he had lost.

His friends and the two Librarians watched the Hitter enter the kitchen and started making lunch.

Cassandra Cillian and Ezekiel Jones were the ones who noticed the difference in personality immediately in the Hitter.

Cassie smiled and turned to Ezekiel.

"That's Eliot Stone" Cassie said.

"What?" Hardison who had overheard Cassie, asked.

Cassandra glared.

"Your Hitter has a split personality. Look closely at Eliot and you can see the difference between Spencer and Stone, Alec" said Cassie looking in Eliot's direction.

Hardison and Ezekiel both looked at the Hitter. While Spencer never slouched, and stood with a straight back so straight that it almost hurt, this Eliot was slouched some.

"Wasn't Eliot in the Army or something?" Ezekiel asked.

"You do realize I can hear ya guys right?" the talked about man asked from behind Hardison.

For a dark skinned man, Hardison turned an awesome shade of white.

"Don't do that man. Only Parker is allowed to do that!" Hardison said jumping from his seat.

Eliot genuinely chuckled at his friend. Spencer had said these people were their friends before Spencer had taken the back seat in his head.

"Why don't you just ask your questions? Ya know I don't bite much." Eliot said as he placed a bowl of chips that had Spencer growling in his head at him, on the table.

"Why did you have me change your birth certificate?"

"Because while Spencer maybe a Retrieval Specialist and former an Employee of Damien Moreau, I am not. My name is Eliot Stone. Before I joined the Army, I had dropped my middle name. But when I was twenty, my convoy was ambushed and a majority of my team were killed. The rest of my team and I were captured. I was separated from my team. I was tortured and raped. Then I was forced to watch the rest of my team get tortured and later executed. It broke something in me. My brother Jake said my middle name made me sound like someone I wasn't. So Eliot Spencer was born and Eliot Stone 'died' in that forsaken place in the desert." Eliot said looking at Hardison.

"A split personality?" Ezekiel Jones asked.

"What's a split personality?" Parker asked as she dropped down from the Vents and onto the table they were sitting at.

"Dammit Parker!"

Eliot growled at Parker as he brushed the chips off his head.

"Guys as much as I would love to continue this conversation about the change in Eliot's personality, we have a job to do." Nate said walking into the kitchen to see why his hitter was swearing.

Then before anyone could say a word, a bullet came flying through the window of Leverage's office.

"Shit"

Eliot was up and out of his seat, bringing all of them to the floor.

The bullet hit Eliot in the shoulder as he fell on top of Nate.

Eliot's phone rang.

"Quinn ya better have a good explanation as to why I have a bullet in my shoulder!"

"I needed away to get your attention. I have been keeping an eye on the Brewpub since you hired Jackson Lutz to wait on tables"

"WHAT?"

Spencer made a brief appearance and put a hand over the speaker on the phone to explain to the others who Jackson Lutz was.

"Jackson Lutz is a killer for hire. Haven't seen him in years and Stone has hired him. Moreau has a man on the inside" Spencer said.

"Ya heard what I said Spencer!"

"One I am not Spencer and two Lutz is dead Moreau had him killed three years ago, Quinn. Now get your ass in here before  I bleed to death, your shot wasn't clean and the bullet's still in my shoulder!"

There was silence on the other end and Eliot waited for Quinn to answer.

"On my way inside. Want me to kill Lutz?"

Eliot growled into the phone. Quinn must have taken that as his answer.

A few minutes later, Eliot, Parker, Hardison, Nate, Cassandra and Ezekiel hear grunts coming from downstairs and then what sounded like someone being dragged up the stairs.

"What the heck?" Sophie asked when she entered the kitchen to see the broken window. She had entered through the side entrance of the Brewpub and just missed Eliot's explanation.

"Ok someone want to explain what's going on here? And why is Eliot bleeding?"

It was at that moment Quinn entered the office kitchen, dragging Jackson Lutz behind him.

Surprisingly Jackson was still conscious.

"Ezekiel and Hardison tie the man up. Cassandra, get the first aid kit and handcuffs. When Quinn's done patching me up cuff his hands behind his back to the chair. He and I need to have a private conversation" Eliot said.

It took twenty minutes for Quinn to patch Eliot up because the man kept on moving away from Quinn. In the end Quinn just punched Eliot out.

Turned out while Eliot Spencer had no qualms with needles, Eliot Stone was scared of them.

When Quinn was done, he splashed cold water on Eliot's face and the man came to.

"Fuck!"

Quinn not ready for the punch that was being thrown his way got hit in the nose by Eliot's fist.

"Ok first ow. Second what the hell is wrong with you?"

Eliot ignored him and called for Parker.

"Why isn't he cuffed?"

Parker shrugged. "He's our friend for now. Plus it's 'No Handcuffing People Tuesday'."

Eliot just looked at her.

When it was just Hardison, Parker and himself, the three of them had come up with some funny rules for Parker's tendencies of harming and teaching people things that shouldn't ever be taught.

There was No Handcuffing People Tuesday.

There was No Stabbing Wednesday.

And there was No Teaching Kids Crime Thursday.

Eliot just stared at her. Then he shook his head.

"Ok Parker, you can wait for us in the kitchen with the others. Quinn and I need to have a quick chat."

Quinn looked at Eliot then back at Parker with a look that said 'Don't leave me alone with him. He just might kill me'.

"Quinn!"

Quinn shuddered.

"You told me that you weren't Spencer, what do you mean by that?"

Eliot quickly told him a little about what he had told the others.

"So Spencer's a second personality?"

Eliot nodded and watched as Quinn burst into laughter.

"Spencer is not scared of needles but Eliot Stone is? What the heck is wrong with you man?"

Eliot didn't look amused.

"Quinn my brothers?"

Quinn stopped laughing and turned to Eliot.

"Alex is ok mentally but Vargas has already waterboarded him a few times. Moreau is in the process of mentally breaking Jacob. Moreau is keeping Jacob Stone gagged. He doesn't like the fact that Jake is not terrified of him. Jake is just scared him." Quinn said looking at the older man.

"Give me your phone now!" Eliot said.

Quinn tossed Eliot his phone and spoke as Eliot dialed a number.

"Eliot, he has all of Spencer's enemies working for him, in various companies, he has managed to buy. Moreau wants you exhausted so when you do eventually go after him, Spencer's enemies will be able to bring you down. If I already know that Stone is scared of needles what do you think will happen when Moreau finds out? Spencer chose the perfect time to take a back seat in your head Stone!" Quinn said.

Eliot let a little of Spencer  out to show Quinn that he meant business. That he only cared to get his brothers away from Moreau and Vargas.

"Who are Alex's friends Quinn?" Eliot asked as the two of them walked back into the kitchen.

"Ask Hardison. Why would I know."

Eliot smirked.

"Because where Spencer's  all growly and fight, I actually know a little about hacking. If you tell Hardison about what I tell you, I will let Spencer out and let him rearrange your insides and your pretty little face!" Eliot said walking away from Quinn.

Warehouse:

Alex Walker Stone grew worried as the day went on. Eliot's enemies were every where in the warehouse that he and Jake were being kept in.

The collar around Alex's neck had been removed and he had been chained to the floor by a chain chained to his hands.

Jake had to be held down so the gag that Moreau was forcing the Librarian to wear could be put back on. Jake had accidentally made a noise.

Alex knew the reason for Moreau wanting Jake to be gagged but not the reason why he didn't want to have Alex gagged.

Jake was chained up next to Alex.

Moreau was currently beating Jake when Quinn returned two hours later than Moreau had told him.

"What happened to you?" Moreau asked when he was done beat on poor Jake Stone.

Quinn looked at the thirty-two year old who was bleeding from his nose, a cut above his right eye and surprisingly his left ear.

"Eliot Spencer happened Mr. Moreau. He doesn't like the fact that you have one of his enemies in his kitchen. Oh he is going to call you in the morning and ask to talk with his brothers. Eliot broke two of my ribs and my nose. Nose has been set because Eliot was kind enough to do that. Ribs I need to do myself so if you excuse me" Quinn said as he tried to push past.

"Jasper! Hank! Please take Alex to his cell and then get the chair for Mr. Quinn." Moreau said.

Guns had cocked all around Quinn and Quinn knew he was about to be in a world of trouble.

Quinn raised his hands and a man Quinn knew as Daniel Horowitz frisked him and then his hands were handcuffed behind his back.

Jasper and Hank returned with a chair. Quinn was forced to into the chair and his arms were pulled over the back of it.

"What do you want to know?" Quinn asked looking at Jake Stone who was now kneeling next to Moreau.

"Jake must have the guts not to be terrified of this man. Even Eliot is terrified of this man." Quinn thought.

"Why were you at Eliot's Office Quinn?"

"I shot him again after he broke my nose and two of my ribs."

Moreau looked surprised. Quinn was the second best next to Eliot Spencer and somehow the younger man got the best  of Eliot Spencer.

Eliot paced in the office kitchen. His team and Jake's team minus Baird and Flynn who were god knows where, were watching him.

They could hear Eliot debating with himself about calling Damien.

Nate knew that Jake was in more danger than Alex was. But Nate also knew something that only Cassandra and Ezekiel knew.

Nate knew the reason why Jake was only scared of Damien Moreau and not terrified like Eliot had been years ago.

It was the same reason why Cassie and Ezekiel weren't too worried about Jake. Eliot had promised Cassie he would get Jake back along with Alex of course.

The real reason why Cassie had attacked Eliot when she first arrived was because she had witnessed Jake being taken and had been told about Eliot. It wasn't because she was worried.

"Eliot calm down, Jake is going to be ok."

Eliot looked at Cassie in surprise.

"You don't know that. Jake must be-" Eliot was cut off.

"Jake isn't terrified, mate. He's just scared. You wanna know what terrifies that man? He's terrified of Spiders that are three feet long and live in the French Cooking Section of our local Library" Ezekiel said causing Nate to raise an eyebrow.

"That's only because Jenkins had forgotten to buy bug spray Zeke" Cassie said hitting her friend upside his head.

Ezekiel turned a shade of red.

Nate and the others stared at the two Librarians.

"Are you telling me that his genius of a brother works for the Metropolitan Public Library? The Secret Magical Library that I don't know anything about because that would be very bad if I did. That Library?" Hardison asked.

The Librarians stared at Hardison.

"Guys!"

The others stared at Eliot.

"Ok so my genius but captured by evil villains of Spencer's enemies brother works for a Magical Library isn't terrified of Moreau or Vargas. That doesn't mean that I Eliot Stone isn't terrified of them. Because Spencer was and is terrified of both those men!"

"Eliot we went up against Moreau before. What's got you all rattled bro?" Hardison asked.

"Quinn" Eliot said.

Flashback to a few hours ago:

As Eliot left the bathroom, Quinn pulled Eliot back.

"What the hell man?"

"I need you to punch me and hard in the face and break two of my ribs before I leave here." Quinn said looking nervous.

Eliot looked at Spencer's Hitter friend worriedly.

"Ok. Why?"

Quinn looked at Eliot. "Because Eliot, Thompson knew before Moreau killed him, that you and I aren't friends. He called me into town, to get under your skin."

"So you work for Moreau now?"

Quinn nodded nervously.

A punch hit Quinn in the nose. Eliot let Quinn's nose bleed for a bit before setting it.

"If I break your ribs, Quinn you are the one who is going to be setting them." Eliot said as he punched Quinn hard enough to break two of Quinn's lower ribs.

Quinn groaned in pain and nodded. He then threw up in toilet.

"Thanks man. I will help get Jake and Alex out" Quinn said as he left the bathroom.

Eliot shook his head and followed the other Hitter out.

End of Flashback

"We have an inside man?" Nate asked. Sophie actually looked pleased.

Now that Nate thought about it, the name Jake Stone rang a bell. Before he had started LEVERAGE, Nate had worked with a man who knew his art history while going after Parker.

"Your brother wouldn't happen to know a few things about Art, Eliot?"

"Sure, why?"

"I have worked with him while following after Parker once or twice" Nate said.

Sophie then muttered something that Cassie heard.

"When Sophie?"

"He caught me in his house about 6 or 7 years ago. We had a good time." Sophie said.

"GUYS"

They all looked at Eliot and the situation turned back to serious again.

"Promise me if anything happens to me, you will take care Jake and Alex for me, ok?"

They nodded as Eliot dialed a number.

"Moreau"

"Spencer"

Eliot friends watched as Eliot Stone's personality changed and they had a feeling that they would be seeing Spencer for a long while.

"Let me talk to Alex, as I know you won't let me talk to Jake."

"Spencer, turn yourself over to me and I will let you talk to Alex and Quinn. I didn't know you and Quinn were on speaking terms. The puppy was being naughty, so he is currently locked away."

"Jake is not a puppy Moreau."

Eliot's voice sounded shaky and he knew he was loosing control over Spencer. He needed to finish this up.

"When?"

Eliot could hear the smirk in Moreau's voice when the man answered.

"2 hours. No more, no less. If you are not here in 2 hours, I will have Quinn shoot Alex in the head. Then have Daniel snipe Jake in a reenactment of the day you sniped him, without Alex and Daddy saving him."

Eliot gulped.

"Do we have a deal?"

Silence.

"Eliot Spencer do we have a deal?"

"Yes, sir" Eliot whispered in to the phone.

"Good see you in 2 hours. Oh and Eliot? Please come alone"

Moreau hung up the phone and Eliot crumpled to his knees.

If Moreau didn't kill him, Cassie was going to paralyze him for life. Then he would wish Moreau would have killed him.

Why did these things keep happening to him?

Chapter 9: Author's Note

Chapter Text

This story is being put on a hiatus while I start work on a more lighter and less violent story. As this story is messing with my own mental health and thus has been giving me nightmares.

Thanks for the comments and the kudos. I hope to get back to this story in a short few weeks

Chapter 10: Turns out Eliot Stone has a Brain

Summary:

Eliot has a higher IQ than his alter ego.

Eliot doesn't hand himself to Moreau.
________________________________

Jake makes a phone call

Alex's friends appear out of nowhere.

Chapter Text

Leverage HQ:

The group stared at Eliot. Parker kept her face blank as she didn't really know how to react. Alec opened and closed his mouth but didn't say anything.

Cassie felt tears but wouldn't allow them to fall.

And Ezekiel Jones glared.

"And here I thought Jake was sometimes stupid." Ezekiel said.

Eliot looked at Jake's friend and smirked.

"I aint a genius but I am just as smart. Did you really think I would just hand myself over to a group of evil men?" Eliot asked.

No one spoke.

Eliot's smile dropped.

"I am not Eliot Spencer! Eliot Spencer would hand himself over in a heartbeat if it meant Jake and Alex's safety! As for me I like to plan my moves first." Eliot said.

His only reply was his phone ringing.

Eliot frowned before answering his phone.

Caller ID said Unknown, but he answered the phone anyway.

"Hello?"

"Eliot! Help Me. I don't have much time and really have no place to hide. Eliot listen don't talk, just listen to me! Alex has been shot in the leg for trying to escape when he first got here. I have some bruised ribs. We are in a warehouse on a -"

There wasn't a dial tone but Jake had stopped talking.

Eliot had the phone on speaker so that everyone could hear.

The next sounds that they heard were grunts of pain.

Warehouse:

Jake Stone froze when he felt the hand on the back of his neck.

"So the brat does have a brain."

Jake didn't reply. He was scared but not terrified.

These men weren't anyone really important and nor were they Eliot's enemies. These men were hired thugs, ment to be used as guards.

"Hold him but don't hang up the phone, his friends need to hear this." The thug that was hold Jake by the back of his neck.

Two more thugs took him from the man holding him. They cuffed his hands behind his back and held him by the crook of each elbow on his feet.

The thug that stood in front of him punched Jake in the stomach.

Jake grunted but stayed on his feet. The next one drove Jake to his knees.

It took him everything not to scream.

"Jake!"

Jake could hear his brother scream his name over the phone.

"Shut up Eliot! Jake growled.

Jake had heard footsteps coming his way.

"Unhand him but keep him kneeling." Jake heard whoever was behind them say.

It was Moreau.

"Eliot you have two hours or Jake and Alex are both dead" Moreau said knowing that Eliot could hear him on the phone.

Moreau received a growl as he hung up the phone.

Leverage HQ:

Eliot stared at the phone in his hand. Moreau made it sound like he didn't have much of a choice. But Eliot knew better.

"What are you going to do Eliot?" Nate said startling Eliot who, had forgotten that both Nate and Sophie along with the Librarians and his team, were still in the room.

The Hitter ignored Nate's question but he did turn to Hardison.

"Hardison bring up a list of Spencer's enemies who are in the states right now!" Eliot said in a demanding tone.

It took Hardison a few minutes to find the list of suspects. Eliot stood over Hardison's shoulder, griping it.

"Well shit" Eliot said and pointed out one of the names on the list.

"This guy right here is from one of the countries that has a bounty for my head. Wonder how Thompson scored that."

Hardison whimpered has Eliot gripped his shoulder tighter.

"Um Eliot, you are hurting me." Hardison whimpered.

Eliot looked startled and looked down. He saw that he was squeezing Hardison's shoulder too tight.

"Sorry, Alec" Eliot said releasing his hold on the younger man.

Hardison managed a smile as he rubbed his most likely bruised shoulder.

"What does that mean for Alex?" Someone they didn't know asked from behind the group.

Eliot smirked before turning around.

"You must be Kai." Eliot said holding out his hand for Kai to shake it.

Kai Mendoza shook his hand non to gently letting Eliot know that she wasn't happy with him.

After she released his hand, Eliot turned to her partner, Ernesto Alamares.

"Hi" Ernesto said holding out his hand, "I'm Ernesto".

Eliot shook his hand before turning back to Kai.

"It means trouble for both him and my baby brother Jake. Both look like me but only Alex is my twin. Jake is four years younger than us. The only difference between me and Alex is that he can get wordy and whiney when he is in trouble. Also Jason Vargas is here." Eliot said.

Both Filipinos stared at Eliot in worry. Then they turned to look at each other.

They spoke in their native language. Eliot picked up his brother's name along with a few choice words.

"Jason Vargas wants to kill Alex. He has already tried three different times. What does Vargas have to do with you?"  Kai asked.

Eliot didn't answer but Cassie Cillian did.

"Vargas is there because somewhere a long the line Alex and Eliot both went up against the man." Cassie said.

Everyone stared at the red head.

"How did you know that?" Eliot asked.

"Um, I -"

Hardison burst out into laughter.

"She was your Pen Pal for a while Eliot while you were still working for good old Uncle Sam before your Black Op days."

Eliot frowned and thought hard about those days. He must have found the memory because he swore.

"You were drunk or something because you mentioned things that were very classified. And you mentioned how this guy had captured you thinking that you were Alex." Cassie explained.

Eliot turned red before turning scary shade of white.

"You didn't?"

Cassie shook her head.

"Why?"

"You made a mistake like I did a few years ago with my own team. Plus it wasn't my information to tell." Cassie said with a small smile.

Nate cleared his throat.

"Ok people thanks for the small trip down memory lane but let's get back to current events. From that last phone call it doesn't sound like Moreau is giving you much of a choice." Nate said.

Before anyone could say anything else, Hardison spoke back up.

"Um so does anyone know where Parker and Jones went off too?"

Both Eliot and Cassie froze for a few seconds before Cassie called Ezekiel Jones.

"If you get yourself dead Zeke, I will not be telling my kid about their Uncle Ezekiel Jones World Class Thief instead I will tell them about their Uncle Ezekiel Jones World Class Dumbass. So don't get dead Ezekiel Jones"

Cassie said and then listened to what the Thief had to say.

Everyone looked at Cassie.

They watched as Cassie smiled then frowned and then smiled again.

"And Parker is sure this is going to work?"

Cassie clearly didn't like his response. "MAYBE?!"

She hung up.

"Parker has an idea and Ezekiel said Eliot should be on standby"

"What is Parker's plan?"

"Vents" Cassie said before walking out of the room with Sophie following her but before Sophie left the room, she gave Eliot a cold stare.

"Fix this!" Sophie hissed and then left the room.

Chapter 11: Captured

Summary:

Jake gets punished for calling Eliot and team.

Moreau and Vargas along with the rest Eliot's Enemies have no idea that Parker and Ezekiel are watching from the Vents after they had found the right warehouse.

But then the worst happens: The Vent breaks

Chapter Text

Warehouse:

Jake Stone swore as the whip that Moreau ordered the thug to use on him, hit his bare back.

"I said count Mr. Stone!"

As a part of his torment (Moreau had used the word punishment), he had to count out loud the whip hit him.

So far the count was, "9" Jake whimpered.

Crack!

"10" Jake's voice cracked as well.

Jake received 10 lashes from the whip for calling his brother.

Jake had been chained facing the wall.

Jake whimpered as Moreau touched his back. Moreau pulled Jake's head backward by his hair.

"Did you know that I know about your brother's weak spot on his back?" Moreau asked as he pulled a knife.

Jake stilled as he felt the knife point at his lower back.

"I could give you the same weakness as Eliot or I could actually paralyze you. Hmmm sounds like I am giving you a choice." Moreau said.

"He isn't terrified of you Moreau and you know it!" Alex said from somewhere behind them.

Moreau growled and threw the knife at Alex.

He would have to thank Eliot for teaching him how to throw knives. The knife had hit Alex in the same shoulder as to where he had stabbed Alex before.

Alex screamed in pain before breathing through his pain.

Moreau kicked at Jake's knees.

Jake grunted in pain as he fell to his knees still facing the wall.

Meanwhile in the vents, Parker and Jones were watching Jake's torment through the vent screen.

"His back is going to scar." Ezekiel said.

Parker looked at him.

"How do you know that?" Parker asked.

He wasn't going to tell her about his own lightly scarred back.

"I just know, so don't ask me" Ezekiel said backing away from the screen.

It was then Parker noticed a shift.

"Jones we need to get out of here now!" Parker said.

Ezekiel looked at her and then noticed something that the First Class Thief hadn't.

The Vent was cracking and they didn't have time to exit the vent.

"Parker we won't make it out. Look, the vent is already cracking, if we move it breaks. If we don't move it breaks. Our best bet is to let ourselves be captured. I know you don't like being caught and neither do I. But we have no choice." Ezekiel said.

Parker frowned. She didn't like it. But like Jones had said the vent was cracking and no matter what, it was going to break with them inside. And Parker knew her vents very well.

She moved a few inches to the right.

The vent broke and the two thieves fell.

Vargas looked up just in time for Ezekiel Jones to land on him.

Alex Walker however had very poor luck. Parker had landed on him.

Knowing that the man under her was very much injured, Parker rolled off of him.

Ezekiel was already being manhandled to where Moreau was. Parker soon was forced to follow.

Jake looked over his shoulder and groaned.

He knew Ezekiel Jones and his ego was going to get him (Jake) killed.

How did he know this? Ezekiel had told them a year or so ago that he didn't do punchy.

Jake didn't know the blonde but could tell that she knew how to fight her way out. However something told him, while she was a thief, she wasn't like Jones and would leave them behind, to save herself. No this thief wasn't egotistical like Jones.

She would do everything in her power to get all of them out this mess.

Sadly he knew that was unlikely to happen.

Moreau spoke before Jake or Alex could.

"Ezekiel Jones as I live and breathe. You would have done wonderfully for my Business." Moreau said.

"I don't work well with others but I am known to make a few exceptions, now and then" Ezekiel said aware that the man he was currently trapped by was just as egotistical as himself.

Unlike Moreau, Ezekiel knew when, where and how to use it to his advantage.

Unfortunately this wasn't one of those times. The man in front of him, was dangerous. This man didn't talk to just anyone nor did he trust just about anyone.

Funny enough the man if you thought hard and long about it, the man was a lot like Jake.

Moreau frowned at Ezekiel before turning to face Parker.

"Parker, how is Nathan Ford these days?" Moreau asked.

"Nate's not the one you have to worry about Moreau. Eliot will come for you!" Parker said.

Moreau glared at the two thieves and sighed. Two of the most smartest thieves had just fallen into his lap.

One was loyal to the man who was bleeding and chained to the wall behind him and the other was too loyal to Ford and Spencer.

"Find a way to ransom them" He ordered one of his men.

Both Parker and Ezekiel were lead elsewhere into the warehouse.

Moreau turned back to Jake.

"I apparently have one of your friends in my custody, Stone. You will be relieved of the gag on the condition that you do as you are told. If you don't Mr. Jones gets your next punishment, do you understand?" Moreau said.

Emotional blackmail great.

"Jones if we get out of this a live, I am going to force you to learn self defense" Jake thought.

"I understand sir" Jake said.

"Mr. Quinn will treat your back and you will stay facing the wall until tomorrow." Moreau said as he left the room.

"What about Alex's shoulder?" Jake asked before Moreau disappeared into his office.

"That's up to Jason Vargas. Vargas what about Alex's shoulder?" Moreau asked looking at Alex's enemy.

Alex hoped for a positive answer. His hope must have shown on his face, because Vargas smirked.

"Sorry Alex but you will have to suffer for the night. However Quinn can remove the knife only." Vargas said to both Quinn and Alex.

"Yes, sir" Quinn said. Quinn waited Eliot's enemies and Vargas to leave the room.

Quinn quickly removed the knife from Alex's shoulder and moved onto Jake's back.

"Christ!" Quinn said when he saw Jake's back.

While it had only been ten lashes, the lashes looked brutal. His back looked like someone had taken a large cheese grater or something of the like to Jake's back.

"Really wish Eliot was here. Eliot is better at stitches than me." Quinn said.

"You know if Eliot was here, there would be nothing for you to stitch, because I would be dead" Jake said back to the older man.

Quinn reddened. "Right, um wrong choice of words. Sorry"

Quinn carefully cleaned Jake's back and took his time carefully stitching his back.

Two hours and a lot of curse words later, Quinn was done.

Jake was leaning his forehead against the wall fast asleep, thanks to a sleep aide and a painkiller.

Quinn leaned against the wall on the younger man's left side.

Alex who had been chained to floor by a length of chain chained to his cuffed wrists, watched Quinn.

"So what are you?" Alex whispered loudly enough for Quinn to hear.

Quinn looked at the other man. Alex Walker looked exhausted and in a lot of pain.

"Inside man for Eliot and Prisoner" Quinn said.

"Oh"

"At least Eliot and your teams know where we are." Quinn said.

That's when they both realized something.

Damien Moreau had given Eliot two hours to hand himself over to him or he would have Quinn kill both Alex and Jake.

Why weren't they dead?

Where was Eliot Stone?
