Lost and Far - Book 1

Summary:

Evelyn Paris had not expected to be let back onto a starship. Especially not since her idiot brother, Tom, had pulled that stunt with the pheromones on the USS Exeter. Using her credentials to access the lab. Hers. Causing her to get sidelined from Starfleet. Her brother didn't, but a few months later, he was dishonorably discharged for covering up a piloting incident. She hadn't expected to talk to Tom again after, aside from letting him meet her girlfriend, but fate can have other plans.
Little did Evelyn know, 2 years later, she would be let back on to a starship as Chief Science Officer and 3rd in command on the USS Voyager, along with her girlfriend, Lilly, and her brother, Tom.
It was only supposed to be a short mission, a month at most, but if you end up getting shot 70,000 light years from home, things can change.

Notes:

Short chapter to start us off! It is the prologue, so I didn't want to make it too long. Next chapter, we get into the first episode, which will probably be in two parts, assuming i can figure out the split in the episode (since they combined the parts).
Anyways, I hope you all like it!

Evelyn stared at her tablet.

Then rubbed her eyes.

Then stared again.

She couldn't believe what she was seeing on her screen. She knew that it was technically only sidelined from Starfleet, but she never expected to be let back on to a starship.

Especially not as Chief Science Officer and 3rd in Command of the USS Voyager. It was a short mission, and the incident had been cleared up around a month ago. So, it did make some amount of sense.

But she was still surprised.

"Lilly! I have something to tell you!" Evelyn yelled, rather excited.

Just then, Lilly poked her head through the door, looking rather confused. "Funny that, because I need to talk to you about something," she replied, looking slightly upset.

"You go first." They said at the same time. 

"No, you should. You look rather upset, and I don't want you to let it fester." Evelyn said, looking slightly concerned.

"Ok." Lilly took a deep breath. "I.... Got a role on the USS Voyager." She looked at Eve, seeing how she would react, scared that something bad would come out of the news.

Evelyn's jaw dropped. "No way. That's what I was going to tell you. Starfleet finally let me back in, and I got assigned to work on the USS Voyager."

She ran to hug her girlfriend, really excited that they would be on a mission together.

"Let's go pack!" Evelyn starts running off to gather her clothes. "Oh, but before I forget, what position did you get? I know you were focused on medicine in the academy."

"I got a nurse position in sickbay." Came the reply. "What about you?"

"I got Chief Science Officer." Evelyn said. 

"That's awesome!" Lillian smiled.

They both headed off to go pack.

I'm kidding. The question isn't evil, but it won't become relevant until "Season" 4, also known as book 4. I'll keep asking it, and as i hopefully get more readers, I'll get more input. You'll see why i didn't want to put the question in here once the next chapter is released
