Chapter Text
SO- I DIDN'T MANAGE TO FINISH BEFORE IT WAS ALMOST NUKED OFF OF DRAFTS- PLEASE COME BACK IN A DAY OR TWO AND THIS WILL BE FINISHED I SWEAR. THE TAGS WERE SO HARD TO FINISH-
Story outline-
Henry feels odd, ignores it
he shares an apartment with Ellie and Charles
they go to work, but he's distracted during the day
he passes out and has a strange dream
when he wakes up he's in the doctors area
he goes home
Henry rolled over in his bed, groaning softly as light from the window shown on his face. He shifts a hand and rubs his eyes free of sleep, sighing. He can hear Charles cooking in the kitchen, pancakes likely by the smell. He pushes himself up and stretches, yawning while he does so. Then he makes himself get out of bed and throws some clothes on for the day. Thankfully, even though he works for the military now, he's been able to stick to his standard hoodies and sweatpants. Though said sweatpants are nicer thanks to the constant money flow coming in. Though no matter how many times he was asked he never got rid of his beloved jacket. This thing has been with him through so many adventures- he wasn't about to replace it any time soon. Once he got fresh clothes on he headed to the joint kitchen and dining room.
Henry couldn't help but smile a little as he heard Charles humming to himself. The three of them moving in together was a great idea. Henry and Ellie hadn't been having a great time finding a stable place to live. So Charles had suggested that sense his lease was up that they all move in together near base. Henry had jumped on it- it allowed him to check on his two friends much easier when he had nightmares. Ellie had needed a little convincing, but in the end agreed too.
He shuffles into the kitchen and grabs some water.
"Hey Henry! How did you sleep? Have any nightmares?" Charles asked.
Henry shook his head no, "Didn't get much sleep. No nightmares though." he says back then downs some water. He then reaches to the top of the fridge so he can grab some pain medication. He grabs two for his head then puts the bottle back. He downs the pills with some water he left in his cup.
Charles, even though he's focused on the pancakes, does notice Henry taking some medication and hums. "You don't have to come in today if you don't feel good, Galeforce will understand."
"I'm fine." He insists.
Charles sighs and Henry sends him a smile. Henry was fine. It was just a headache. He's dealt with worse.
Ellie woke up sometime during breakfast
