Chapter Text

Cho-cho looked down at the dango on her plate and thought back to the workout videos she had watched the night before

“Shut up and count your calories or you'll never look good in those mom jeans!”

She lost her appetite and looked over at Inojin who was laughing at something that Shikadai had said. Sometimes Cho-cho wished that she looked like Inojin, I mean- she was perfect! A blue eyed blonde with a perfect body.

Inojin looked at Cho-cho with a raised eyebrow, a perfectly thin arched eyebrow

“You okay chubbs?” She asked, her voice light and teasing

‘Chubbs’

Cho-cho hates that nickname.

“Yeah..I'm fine..” she replied after some time

“You sure?” She leaned forward and rested her cheek on the palm of her slim dainty hand “You haven't eaten since we've been here.” She pointed to the plate in front of Cho-cho, the three sticks of dango untouched.

“Yes! Gosh! I'm fine Inojin!” Cho-cho snapped, slamming her hand against the table as she stood.

Inojin and Shikadai jumped back a bit, surprised at her sudden outburst.

“What the hell is your problem Cho-cho?” Shikadai asked, slightly annoyed that the larger girl was making a scene

“Nothing is my problem! I just- UGH! Leave me alone!” Cho-cho stormed off, her rounded cheeks burned with embarrassment as people from the cafe stared at her as she walked away.

Once Cho-cho got home, she immediately walked to her room and closed the door behind her, ignoring the ‘You’re home early’ from her mother.

She slid down the back of the door and threw her face into her hands. Her chubby, fat hands.

She felt hot tears run down her cheeks and she wanted nothing more than to rip the fat off her face as she tried to keep her sobbing quiet.

After some time she found herself in front of the full body mirror in her room in nothing but some shorts and her bra. She looked at her stomach, pinching and pulling at it.

Maybe I should try harder..” She thought to herself before getting angry at the thought “Well maybe some people should just lower their beauty standards because I'm no quick-curl barbie!” She huffed and put on what would've been an oversized shirt if not for a plump frame. It was at most just one size larger than her normal size and it still felt too small.

She slumped onto her bed and looked over at the yearbook from last year- her junior year. She grabbed it and looked through all the pages. She loathed at how pretty all her friends looked in their pictures;

There was Uchiha Sarada, one of her best friends since elementary school. Sarada had short inky black hair with fair skin, grey charcoal colored eyes framed by pretty, red glasses. She has a pretty, slim body- Sarada is captain of the volleyball team

Then there was Kakei Sumire, she has long straight purple hair with deep purple eyes. She has a dainty frame and not only that, she has the brains to match such a pretty face- she was at the top of the AP biochemistry class and led the robotics team to nationals.

And then of course..Yamanaka Inojin. She has long silky blonde hair that matches perfectly with her light blue eyes and pale skin- her unblemished soft, smooth pale skin. She had a perfect body that made boys drool over her and allowed her to win prom queen last year. She was also creative- she could paint, and design clothing.

Cho-cho closed the book shut and blinked away tears, she had never been cut out for prom queen.

Maybe if she got ‘more pretty’ boys would actually like her..?

The next morning, she'd woken up super early to shower and do her make-up.

Cho-cho changed into some baggy jeans with a grey tank top underneath, she threw on a black oversized sweater and zipped it up halfway as she put her hair into its usual half-up half-down

She went downstairs and found her mother and father eating breakfast

“Hey Cho-cho!” Choji exclaimed excitedly as he saw his daughter “Come eat breakfast with us!”

“...” She stared at the food on the table, although she was hungry as she had skipped dinner she declined “No, thanks. I'm not hungry.”

“You didn't eat dinner lat nig-” Karui, her mother, spoke but was cut off

“I'm not hungry!” Cho-cho huffed and she stomped to the door, putting on her shoes and leaving.

She shoved her hands in her pockets and continued to walk to school catching a glimpse of Mitsuki and Metal Lee to the side on the grass.

Metal Lee was gifting the pale girl something with a flushed face. Mitsuki gave a kind smile and took the gift, patting Metal Lee on the head, causing him to run away to Iwabee and Dejiri(did I mention that Denki is also a girl😙.. can't help it..I love gender swapping ppl)

Cho-cho felt a bit jealous as she watched the scene- Mitsuki didn't even present as a girl half the time! Yet why were they getting more attention from boys than Cho-cho ever had!? It wasn't fair!

She felt a disdain bubble in her chest until she felt a hand on her shoulder, it was Sarada.

She was wearing a dark red button up with a dark brown jean mini skirt with white knee high socks and black flats, her dark hair styled like that Alice girl from twilight- specifically from the first movie.

She envied how effortlessly pretty Sarada looked.

“You good Cho? You were just standing there”

Cho-cho nodded “Yeah- I'm good..think I just zoned out for a moment..” she shrugged as they walked into the school

Cho-cho went to ask what Sarada was doing after school but was cut off by that idiot blonde boyfriend of hers.

Boruto ran up from no-where and kissed Sarada on the cheek. Sarada pushed his face away and rolled her eyes

“Go away bolt.” She said, using the name he used during the football games

“Awe..you didn't miss me..?” He pouted dramatically

“Ugh.” She walked away with Cho-cho as Boruto yelled ‘See you after school babe~’

Guess that answered Cho-Cho’s question about after school

Sarada looked at Cho-cho “You look tired, have you been getting enough sleep?” She asked, concerned.

Cho-cho frowned a bit, was the makeup she was wearing not visible? Was it not enough to hide how ugly and useless she felt?

“Ah-..I'm okay..not tired at all..” she said unconvincingly

“You dark circles under your eyes-”

“Gosh- are you just gonna fucking dissect all my insecurities all day?!” She snapped at Sarada who jumped back a bit. Her eyes wide with worry as she stared at Cho-cho

“Cho-cho..you know I didn't mean it like that-”

“I- just- fuck! It's whatever, Sarada!” She turned her heel and sped walk to the bathroom, leaving Sarada standing in the hallway by herself.

Cho-cho locked herself in a bathroom stall as she tried to calm herself down- she doesn't get why she's been snapping people like that- it's not their fault she's ugly and fat.

A group of girls walked into the bathroom, talking

“Can you believe it?” Eida said with a scoff “That fatass threw a whole tantrum in the locker room last week because coach Moegi asked her if she wanted a bigger size- and get this after all that fussing, she ended up taking the bigger size because her tubby ass couldn't fit into the gym uniform!”

The girls laughed and Cho-cho felt her stomach drop, Eida was talking about her. That whole fiasco last week is what started Cho-cho’s spiral.

“That girl is seriously some kind of defect surgical project.” Some other girl chimed in, they laughed and chatted some more before leaving the bathroom.

Cho-cho hyperventilated in the stall, it was getting hard to breathe, she wiped off all her makeup, it felt like plastic wrap were in her cheeks, she knew she wasn't the prettiest person but a ‘defect surgical project?’ Cho-cho sobbed into the sleeve of her sweater before ultimately deciding to skip school.

She went to thunder burger and ordered quite a few things. She took it home- both her parents were already at work, she was sure of that.

She sat on the floor of her kitchen and finished out all of what she ordered. For a short while she felt happy. But after she was done, she actually felt uncomfortablely full and sick to her stomach.

She quickly discarded any evidence of her eating and went to lay down, passing the bathroom on the way there. She paused and looked into the room. She thought back to something she saw a few days ago during her research on how to lose weight fast. She swallowed harshly and walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.

She knelt in front of the toilet and used one finger to stick down her throat until she threw up.

Her throat burned and tears streamed down her face as she sat on the tiled floor dry heaving, at least she didn't feel so full anymore?

She cleaned herself up and went to lay down in bed. She buried her face into her pillows and let out a frustrated groan.

She got an earful from her mother when she got home, Cho-cho lied and told her mother she felt sick so she stayed home- and she somehow believed it.

This went on for weeks until Inojin invited the girls over for a sleepover- Inojin forced Cho-cho to attend.

Cho-cho looked at the group of girls: Sarada, Sumire, Dejiri, and…Mitsuki..

It wasn't fair..they were all so pretty..

Sarada has a nice ass, Sumire has a slim waist, Dejiri has a rack that makes boys hound her for attention, Inojin has great thighs and Mitsuki has a pretty face- both as a girl and a boy! How unfair was that!?

“So…” Dejiri started as she leaned into Mitsuki “a little birdy told me that you and Metal are going out..”

Mitsuki blushed a bit as they twirled a strand of light blue hair “Well…I guess you can say that..” A sly smile spread across rose tinted lips

“He's a sweetheart, isn't he” Sumire smiled as she held her cheek in her hand

“Have you made out with him yet?” Inojin teased

“Inojin!” Mitsuki said with a giggle

“What! It's an honest question!”

“Well.. he's quite shy, so we've only shared small kisses” Mitsuki gave a small smile

“Awe, how cute! Honestly, I've always known he had a crush on you! It was especially obvious during sophomore year..” Sarada giggled as she pulled up her sleeping shorts

“Really-?” Mitsuki asked surprised

“Uh- yeah- Iwabee would tell me all the time how Metal would talk about you, how he used to stare at you during gym, especially your ass during warm-ups~”

“Oh shut up-!”

Their conversation drowned out as Cho-cho disassociated, stared down at the floor in front of her- she was incredibly jealous of Mitsuki. How was it fair!?

Well they say:

“Beauty makes boys happy!”

But Cho-cho has been starving herself..and maybe self harming- she tugged at the sleeves of her shirt as she thought back to late nights on the bathroom floor..the feeling and sight of skin splitting as she used a box cutter against her wrist-

She'd wish that someone would teach her how to be okay…not to downplay her emotions.

“Beauty is vain! You'll only be happy if you look a certain way”

She just wanted to be okay- she hadn't noticed she was crying till Inojin put and hand on her shoulder

“Cho-cho..?” She asked with worry in her voice

Cho-cho wiped her tears and looked away, embarrassed that she had been caught in such a state.

“You know you can talk to us..” Dejiri said as the other girls nodded

Cho-cho stared at her for a while before her face twisted in anger

“How could I talk to you guys about anything I'm going through!? You guys wouldn't understand!”

“Understand what? What wouldn't we understand Cho-cho?” Sarada asked

“You guys wouldn't understand how I hate everything about myself! How I hate my body! My fat cheeks! My fat body! Everything! I've tried everything to make myself skinner but nothing works! I've skipped meals, starved myself, even made myself sick just to make me skinny- but nothing works! Why!? Why am I the fat one? Why can't I be pretty and perfect like you guys!? Why? It's not fair!” She sobbed, out of breath as she covered her face

The girls stared at her in shock as they processed what Cho-cho had just said

“Cho..just because we're all skinny, doesn't mean we're ‘perfect’.. everyone has their own struggles” Sarada said as she sat closer to her “I'm not saying that to invalidate your feeling, you're entitled to feel that way- but starving yourself and making yourself sick isn't healthy. Why didn't you tell us you felt like this before?”

“I-i was embarrassed.” Cho-cho mumbled softly, still crying

“There's nothing to be embarrassed about, trust me..” Dejiri smiled at her “I used to wish that I had a smaller chest- and sometimes I still wish I did- because I hate the attention it gets me, makes me feel like a whore even though I make it a point to wear bigger clothing”

“Yeah- I personally hate having a fast metabolism. Guys tell me all the time to ‘eat a burger’ it gets annoying” Sumire chuckled slightly

“Mhm! I used to hate volleyball, because the workouts were so annoying, especially the leg workouts- made my ass look huge, along with my calves. Guys would say I have ‘man legs’.” she rolled her eyes at the thought

Cho-cho raised an eyebrow- these girls couldn't be serious..the same girls who all looked perfect on paper..weren't..perfect..?

“Oh yeah- lots of people made fun of me because I didn't know who I wanted to be ‘you can't be both!’ they'd say, but honestly who are they to tell me who I can and can't be?” Mitsuki smiled

“Right- people just kinda assume because I'm popular that I don't have insecurities. I used to be super self conscious about the way I looked..you know that for a fact Cho-cho after all- you were the girl that told me that I shouldn't want to pretend or be someone or something I'm not for the approval of others.” Inojin gave her a soft smile “Remember..? All those years ago, back in elementary school? How I'd cry about the girls who teased me for being ‘to pale’.”

Cho-cho thought back to those times

“Yeah.. they used to call you a vampire and tell other kids to stay away from you because you might ‘suck their blood” she chuckled weakly

“Seriously-? That's so stupid..” Sumire said

“I know- but Cho-cho would always make me feel better. She'd tell the girls to leave me alone and stood up for me.. thinking back I'm glad you did that for me and I'm sorry that I didn't notice you were struggling with your own body image issues, is there anything we could do to help you?”

Cho-cho smiled. She smiled and for once in the last few weeks she actually felt happy. Happy to have the friends she has.

“Well..a start would be getting me to have a healthy relationship with food again..”

“Consider it done!” Sarada stood tall with a smile

Cho-cho giggled and she finally understood that..it was okay to not be perfect..all she needed was to be herself..and being herself would be enough.

Notes:

Tbh, I also wrote this because I feel this way about myself all the time- as someone who was always the largest person in class even in elementary school, it gets hard to love yourself when people are constantly making fun of you and making you feel bad about yourself. Just know that it gets better! And it's okay to not be okay! Don't ever pretend to be someone or something you're not for the validation of others! You are enough and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! <3

Chapter 2: Casual

Notes:

Based on the song 'Casual' by Chappell Roan.

Some angsty Kawaki x Sumire bc..why not? lol

Chapter Text

Sumire crossed her arms as she looked at Kawaki- she was trying her best not to cry as they argued

“You know- my friends call me a loser because I'm still hanging around you.” She turned away from him. “And I've heard so many rumors that I'm just some girl you'd bang on your couch..ha..I thought you thought of me better..someone you couldn't lose.” Her voice cracked slightly as her cheeks reddened

“We're not together, Sumire.” Kawaki said simply before leaving.

Sumire watched him leave before crying, covering her face “Asshole..” she muttered under her breath- she swears he's the reason she has anger issues.

She doesn't know why she does it to herself, but after a football game she found herself back in Kawaki’s car in some back corner of a parking lot.

Sumire sat in the passenger seat and leaned all the way back as Kawaki leaned over her and kissed down her neck, his hands gripping her thighs and hips.

“Baby, no attachments..okay?” Kawaki mumbled into her neck as he kissed his way down her chest and under her skirt.

Sumire mocked him in her head before letting out a moan as she felt him move her panties to the side.

no attachments' but he was knee deep in the passenger seat, eating her out, but they're ‘casual’, right?

She stared at the ceiling of the car as her hand reached behind her head to grip the headrest. She just tried to focus on the feeling of his mouth on her wet heat rather than the voices in her head.

Kawaki ran his pierced tongue over Sumire’s pulsing clit as he pushed her thighs up against her chest. He looked up at her, watching as her hands came down to hold her thighs against herself. He used his thumbs to spread her labia apart, licking from clit to hole.

Her hips bucked slightly at the feeling as she let out a soft hum. She looked down at him, her face flushed as her back arched slightly, feeling his thick fingers slip inside her.

Two weeks after that while she was politely smiling at Hinata as she invited Sumire over to their vacation house in Long Beach, Sunagakure. But they were casual, right?

She leaned against her locker as she listened to Kawaki tell Boruto, Shikadai, Iwabee and Metal Lee that it was just casual

“It's just casual between you and Sumire?” Boruto asked, not quite believing it

“Yes. How many times do I have to say it?” Kawaki grumbled, annoyed.

He walked away from the group of boys and felt his phone buzz, he looked at the text that Sumire sent him.

“Then, baby, get me off again. If it's ‘causal’ now. Cuz we're ‘causal', right?”

Sumire laid in bed staring at her wall. Love was dumb. She was so smart but it seemed to be that she loved being stupid.

Last night she had a dream about her and Kawaki. She dreamt about them in a year or so, living in their own apartment and he'd show her off to his friends on the pier.

And she knows ‘Baby, no attachments

But it was hard not to get attached when he was knee deep in the passenger seat eating her out and then two weeks later his mom is inviting her to their vacation house in Long Beach, Sunagakure.

It's hard being casual when her favorite bra lives in his dresser, and it's hard being casual when she is on the phone talking down his sister.

She tried to be the chill girl, who holds her tongue and gives him space. She really tried to chill girl, but honestly she's not, which is exactly why she found herself outside the Uzumaki residence.

All those memories running through her head as they argued quietly but it quickly escalated as Kawaki called Sumire ‘bitter’ and Hinata along with Naruto stood in the door way to see what was happening

“I fucked you in the bathroom when we went to dinner! Your parents at the table, you wonder why I'm bitter!?” She screamed at him, pointing at Hinata and Naruto.

Hinata covered her mouth in shock, blushing slightly as she heard the confession and Naruto’s jaw dropped

“Sumire! Shut u-” Kawaki tried to shut her up but was cut off

“Bragging to your friends, I 'get off' when you hit it. I hate to tell you the truth, but I'm sorry dude, but you didn't!” She felt tears run down her face as she publicly embarrassed him in front of his family and neighbors “I hate that I let this drag on so long, now hate myself..” she turned away from him as Kawaki tried to apologize but his words fell on deaf ears, so he grabbed her arm.

“I hate that I let this drag on for so long” she repeated as she pulled away from Kawaki's grasp “YOU CAN GO TO HELL!” She slapped him before storming off.

Kawaki was left there in shock. He turned red as he heard Boruto laughing at him

“SHUT UP!”

“Loser! Can't even keep a girl! I told you she was gonna get tired of your bullshit!”

“Boruto! Stop antagonizing your older brother!” Naruto scolded

Kawaki just grumbled before walking back inside and going to his room slamming the door.

Guess he shouldn't have said everything was ‘Casual’...

Chapter 3: Little Bit

Summary:

Based on the song 'Little Bit' by Lykke Li

The lyrics are cute and I thought it fit them very well..there is barely any Metal Lee x Mitsuki stuff so..I have to be my own supplier 😔💔

Notes:

Mitsuki will use he/him pronouns for this chapter..or I'll just use his name, as his gender is supposed to be…ambiguous? Mitsuki will switch sex from chapter to chapter..

Chapter Text

Mitsuki and Metal Lee laid next to each other- they were hanging out at Mitsuki's house, something they usually did as Mitsuki’s parent and brother were rarely home.

Mitsuki stared at the ceiling “..Hands down..I'm too proud for love” he closed his eyes “But when eyes shut, it's you I'm thinking of..” he rolled into his side and looked at Metal with a small smile

Metal blushed and sucked in a breath, he was nervous, the way Mitsuki looked at him made him nervous and he had no idea how to proceed with a relationship because he'd never been in one before.

He looked away from Mitsuki, his hands shaking and his voice trembling as he spoke

“But how we move from A to B, it can't be up to me ‘cause I don't know-” he felt Mitsuki's hand on his cheek, forcing Metal to look at him

Metal could swear that his whole body was red as they were met eye to eye, thigh to thigh. They stared at each other for a while before Metal just let go.

“I think I'm a little bit..” Metal’s voice trailed off

“A little bit..?” Mitsuki encouraged him to continue

“..a little bit in love with you.” He mumbled

Mitsuki stared at him for a while before going into a giggling fit, causing Metal to sputter and sit up

W-well! Only if you're a l-little bit..!” Metal was stumbling over his words as Mitsuki continued to giggle “..a little bit in love with me..” he pouted and slouched looking away as he sat on the edge of the bed

Mitsuki continued to giggle for a little while longer before hugging Metal from the back, putting his chin on his shoulder and his arms around his waist

“You know..for you I keep my legs apart..and forget about my tainted heart..” he kissed the nape of Metal's neck.

Metal went stiff and tilted his head to the side to give Mitsuki more space, his eyes closed as he let out a soft whimper

“And you know I will never ever be the first to say it..but still I- you know I-I” Mitsuki wasn't good with feelings, never had been, so he paused and took a breath while pulling Metal back into the bed, switching their positions he got on top of the other boy, his own face red as he held Metal's arms above his head

“I would do it, push a button! Pull the trigger, pull a mountain, jump off a cliff! ‘Cause you know, baby, I love you, love you- a little bit!” His face was red and his heart was beating too fast, he felt like he was going to have a heart attack! “You would do it, you would say it. You would mean it, and we could do it! It was only you and I, not only I- hm-!” Mitsuki’s voice got higher as he realized he was rambling- which was something he never did..he didn't know why he was feeling this way or why he was so nervous..being nervous was Metal’s thing!

Metal looked up at Mitsuki and he gave a goofy smile and pursed his lips forward. Mitsuki leaned down and kissed him gently, his hands coming down to cup Metal's face. He pulled away and rested his forehead against his.

Eventually Metal had to go home as his father had called him. Both of them stood at the front door Metal and Mitsuki stood awkwardly.

“I like when you come here and stay with me, stroke me by the hair..” he crossed his arms “I would give anything- I mean anything to keep you as my man.” He smiled as Metal blushed again “Goodnight Metal”

“G-goodnight Mitsuki..” he did a stiff bow and left.

Walking home Metal could feel himself sweating as he thought about what Mitsuki said.

“..anything to keep you as my man”

Metal wanted to scream and jump in delight as he sped up his walking, but he held it in as he didn't want to look crazy walking home.

Metal wasn't a ‘little bit in love’ with Mitsuki..he was utterly in love with Mitsuki

Chapter 4: This Can't Be Over.

Summary:

Who else luvs Monster High? I love this song and movie so much lol. Based on the song 'This Can't Be Over' from Monster High, Boo York.

Notes:

A lil angsty Inojin x Shikadai.. don't worry..I plan for them to get back together sometime later in a different chapter!

Chapter Text

Shikadai was walking down the hall when he saw Inojin getting swarmed by a few guys- he'd known she was popular with the guys, but he still had a right to be jealous. He was her boyfriend.. can't those guys just back off?

“Why do you put up with such a lazy boyfriend?” One guy asked

“Yeah- you deserve someone who doesn't act like everything is a drag.” Another guy said

Inojin made a face at their words

“He's not lazy..just not easily motivated..” She said, trying her best to defend him.

Shikadai had always been smart..smart enough to know that the look on her face showed uncertainty of her words, he quickly turned and walked down the opposite hallway.

He put his hands on his pockets as he walked with his head down..was he really a bad boyfriend..?

As if hearing his thoughts, Eida appeared from actually nowhere

“You know, everybody knows that she's too good for you.” She spoke in a condensing tone “You're holding her back Nara.” She patted his shoulder “If you really love her…you should let her go..”

With that she walked off and turned the next corner.

Shikadai narrowed his eyes as he bit his lip..was he really that bad..? She was constantly egging him on not to be so lazy…constantly fussing over him.

He was holding her back.

Over the weekend he came over to her house, early- she thought he was coming to help her get ready for their date that was never going to happen.

Auntie Ino opened the door, he cursed himself mentally- he didn't know that they'd be home today. He took his shoes off and said a quick hello to her and Sai.

She walked to Inojin’s room and walked in, closing the door behind him. She turned to face him with a smile, holding up two dresses

“Which one should I wear?” She asked before frowning at the look on his face, she put the dresses down and asked “What's wrong?”

“I don't..know if it's going to work out between you and me anymore Inojin..”

Her face was confused as her shoulders slumped “Wha- What are you saying..?”

“I mean..look at you and look at me” He pointed between the both of them “You deserve everything.. you're like royalty..”

His hand dropped to his side as he looked down to the side "I'm just an average guy- you know it's true and I know just what to do when it comes down to you and me.”

She put her hand to her chest as her lip trembled listening to him speak

“And I hate to have this happen the way it has to happen..” he scratched the back of his neck “..what I thought was a perfect match was a perfect mismatch..and I think I owe it to you, to set you free.”

He didn't want to look up at her, fearing that she was crying- he didn't think he could live with himself if he saw her crying “Cause you'll be better, better off without me.

“S-shikadai..please..think about this-” Her voice trembling as she went to take a tentative step towards him but was cut off

“We gotta get real and leave this alone! We don't go together, we are so wrong for each other! We gotta understand that we gotta break up!”

He finally looked up at her, looking at her shaking form as she looked at him in shock, her mouth hung open as she tried to find the words.

“Sorry it's over.”

She sucked in a breath “Sorry, it's..over?” She repeated, her voice small

“Sorry it's over.” He confirmed as he turned, his hand on the door knob. “Over time..I've held you back..” he twisted the knob opening the door “You're too good to me, and I know for a fact that this relationship has turned to stone..” he walked out the room “I should get going, now I'm better leaving you alone.” He started walking down the hall- their conversation was no longer private.

Inojin ran after him, pulling him back, forcing him to face her “Don't back away from me! This isn't like you!” She put her hand on his cheek “What's gotten into you? Tell me, who said what to you?"

Shikadai tried to pull away from her, gazing back Auntie Ino and Uncle Sai were standing at the end of the hall, looking on in concern.

“To make you do this- think for a minute, I don't care what others have to say about us and neither should you!” She cried, her voice pleading

“We gotta get real get real Inojin-”

No!

“-and leave this alone!”

Don't leave me alone!”

“We gotta understand that we gotta break up- so I'm sorry- it's over!”

“No- this can't be over.” She took a slight step back as tears made their way down her cheeks

“Honey, you and I, we're so wrong.. everybody knows-”

“-everybody knows..?”

“..knows that this is the end.”

She looked down at her feet as she let out a shaking breath “This hurts..deep inside of me..” She looked back up at him, confusion and hurt etched in her face “Why do you think this is the way it has to be..? Look at the picture, we're not breaking up.” Her voice was firm as she grabbed his hands “You’re perfect for me..you see..”

Shikadai pulled away slightly, his shoulders slumped. Ino put her hands over her mouth in gasp as Sai frowned, his expression serious.

You and I were meant to be, as one!” She pulled him closer, her grip on his hands tightening slightly.

“..I'm really sorry..but we're done.”

Those words broke her, her grip loosening as her eyes widened, her face twisted as Shikadai pulled away from her, turning away from her “..sorry it's over.”

He walked away from her, pushing past Ino and Sai, he put his shoes back on

No..this can't be over..” she walked to where her parents were standing, Ino holding her back

“You and I- we're so wrong! We're not perfect after all..and everybody knows..” he paused and looked back at her crying “Everybody knows, this is the end.”

He bowed to the three “sorry for wasting your time.” He turned and walked out the house.

Inojin let out a sob, Ino holding her close, rubbing her back and she softly shushed her whispering that it'll be okay. Ino looked at Sai who was still frowning.

“Tsuma-” Sai was cut off

“We'll talk about it later..” Ino said quickly as she shook her head.
