Chapter Text
Killua hadn’t seen Gon in years.
He had gotten the letter two weeks ago. a short note, barely a few lines:
“If you’re not busy, come see the snow. I’ll be here. -Gon”
Now he stood at the edge of a quiet village, the trees tall and thick. Gon stood outside a cabin, bundled in an old jacket, cheeks red from the cold. He smiled when he saw him. that same cheeky, bright smile.
“I didn’t think you’d come!”
Killua shrugged. “I didn’t either.”
Inside, the cabin was warm, filled with the scent of wood smoke and tea. They talked, but not too much. It was the kind of silence that could only exist between people who used to be closer than their own thoughts.
Later, sitting by the fire, Killua finally asked, “Why now?”
“What do you mean?” Gon said while pouring another cup of tea.
“I mean.. asking me to come meet you now instead of earlier.” Killua sighed
Gon didn’t look at him, but he stopped pouring the tea. “I’ve been thinking about a lot of things.”
Killua’s chest tightened. He knew what he meant by “a lot of things”, But neither of them said it.
