--------------------------
Your feet pound on the cobblestones. You ran down the streets dodging people as well as possible in the busy streets. In your hands was cardled a basket of bread for your shop.
You had backed it over night to refill the shop until the noon batch was ready. You glanced over your shoulder for but a few seconds when you slam into someone.
A pirate hat and your basket of bread went flying.
"I am so sorry I should have watched where I was going!" Your mouth rambled of apologies before the girl held up her hand cutting you of.
She stood and brushed of her captains coat. Before offering a hand to help you up.
"It's all right lass, I shouldn't have been in the middle of the street." You couldn't see her mouth due to the scarlet mask, but you could see the grin in her eyes. "Names kleë-shaë."
"Mines Y/n" you smilled at the other girl. She seemed to be faking an acent.
Kleë-shaë then turned to one of the pirates beside her one who wore two eyepatches yet somehow managed to catch both the hat and the bread basket, not spilling a single crumb.
Kleë-shaë grabbed her hat before clearing her throat. "Thank you keenathen." She spoke lightly before handing the basket back to you.
You smilled and rushed of on your own. Basket of bread in hand and completely unaware of the interest sparked in kleë-shaë at this point.
--------(time skip since I lazy.)--------
You where setting the afternoon batch into the baskets in your shops open window, the fresh sent attracting locals and tourists alike.
Behind the counter you spot a few unusual people. Two of whom carried weapons, one with a large backpack frying pan hanging from the side of it, and lastly one who carried a book that looked like it weighed 100 pounds.
You gave them a bright smile as they browsed through the bread on display. The one with the large bag headed over to converse with you. Now that you could see his face clearly you are able to see that one eye had a long scar and seemed to be held shut on it's own.
"Did you bake these?" He had a warm grin and cheerful voice. "Any you would recomend."
"Oh yes these are all freshly made." You crossed over to a small loaf with pecans on top. "And I would recommend this one it's my favorite!" You tried your best to sound friendly, even though you where very tired. He was the first nice customer of the day.
As you ended the conversation and went back to your post behind the counter you smilled. After some time the group headed back over and put some bread on the counter, one of which being the pecan bread loaf you recommended.
"Great choices! You seem to be warriors, I'll give you twenty percent off." You smilled and began bagging the bread.
"There's no need we can cover the full thing." The blue haired girl insisted.
"I know you can, that monster loot is worth a lot, but still you guys do so much to protect towns like these! It's the least I can do!" You smilled.
"If your sure. But we really can pay." The blond muttered and handed over the the money, less then this would normally be worth.
"Have a nice day, and dont over work yourself!" You cheerfuly repeated your normal goodbye, however adding the 'dont over work yourselves.' After all they protected people like you.
Garl smilled as they left the shop. "She was nice, nicer then most people we've bought from so far." The petite bakers smile seemed to linger in his mind for some reason.
Zale chuckled "she sure was insistent that we where some heros... it was nice seeing our work recognized, even if we haven't taken down a dweller yet." He smilled softly his own doubt seemed to ease up in that little shop. It's warm atmosphere definitely helped him relaxe.
Teaks nodded along to the conversation. "We should get going though, still have to see of there are any upgrades for your weapons."
"Good idea, we dont want to keep the pirates waiting." Valere responded carefully, her mind seemed to be off but she couldn't figure out why.
You finished up selling the last bit of bread from the afternoon batch and closed up shop. Your eyes couldn't help hut notice people rushing towards the tavern, people who you knew didnt even drink.
You diceded you might as well go over and check it out yourself. So you locked your door and walked with the flow of people, skirt swinging with every step you took.
As you got into the bar, an old ship reproduced into the tavern, you recognized certain voices. You hopped onto your toes to be able to see over the heads of other people.
Sure enough there was the group of warriors where at the table, minus the pink haired girl with the book who leaned against a wall nearby.
However you also noticed the pirates from this morning. One of which being Kleë-shaë. You couldn't hear everything but they seemed to be making a deal before someone yelled out "arm wrestling competition!" Causing more people to crowd around, almost knocking you off your tip toes.
You watched as the friendly brown haired boy from before walked up to the table being put against a scrawny blond haired man. *Something seemed off.*
That was the only thought you had before the scrawny man ripped open his shirt and slammed the boy's arm down on the table splitting it in two. Your eyes widened and you attempted to shove through the crowd to provide any medical attention needed.
Until you heard his voice call out "im ok!" You sighed in relief, that was soon overtook with anger.
Yes these where pirates and yes you only met kleë-shaë for about ten minutes but she seemed nice! She decided to let the crowd clear out along with the group of warriors, who flashed you a few grins and a wave as they left.
Then you stormed up to the elevated table and right up to kleë-shaë. Earning shocked and confused glances from the crew.
"What the hell you cheated! And you could have seriously hurt him!" The girl glanced away with the eye that wasn't covered with a patch.
"I had to, ok?" Her voice sounded guilty not fake guilty but true. "I can't tell you why." Her voice drops "my crew doesn't know either, but I need this ok."
You felt like you should tell someone or authorities. However you haven't heard the entire conversation. Against your better judgment you gave her the benefit of the doubt.

F/I means favorite instrument
-------------------------------------------
You managed to catch up to the warriors before they got out of town. Thats when you realized the pirates with two eyepatches was there.
"Uh hi!" You managed to stop them. "I'm the baker you bought some bread from this afternoon, I just wanted to make sure you where ok, I know most people would probably have broken their arm doing that."
He laughed "im doing great but thanks for checking in on me. I'm Garl by the way!" He smilled and offered his hand for a shake. You accepted it smiling.
"I'm Y/n, Y/n L/n." He smilled. Hearing the sound of your voice ring out like bells.
"Well Y/n, these are my friends." He gestures to the others. "Valere." He gestured to the blue haired girl who offered a half hearted wave. "Zale." The blond boy she flashed her a grin. "Teaks." The pink haired girl with the large book. "And..."
"Keenathen right?" You asked the pirate, who you thought was blind until he flicked his eyepatches up.
"Correct! Your voice is familiar." You diceded not to judge the fact that he wore eyepatches even though he could see.
"I believe we met this morning. I bumped into your captain and you caught my basket." You remembered how perfectly everything fell back in. "You must have incredible reflexes to have caught it!"
He flicked his eyepatches down with a chuckle "more like incredible magic." He said confidently, and before you could react a gust of wind blew you hair around your head, except it didnt wip in her face at all but floated around.
"Your a wind mage?" You asked excitedly.
"Indeed or my name is not keenathen!" He flicked the eyepatches up once more and pointed to the sky. This earned a chuckle from you.
"Well I'd let you all head out now!" You waved goodbye before heading on yor way for your after work walk.
And that's when you saw a very rickety old raft being pulled onto the dock. By who else other then Kleë-shaë and her crew. You noticed how Kleë-shaë actually helped her crew, unlike several other captains who came through the bustling port town.
You sat on the edge of the dock legs dangling over the edge "can you even be considered pirates with a ship like that?" Your voice seemed to catch Kleë-shaë of gaurd. She wipped around the beads holding up her brown pigtails wacked her between the eyes.
You winced and so did some of her crew. She rubbed the spot that the beads hit and grumbled "dunno, can you be considered a baker when your this good at stalking me?"
"I'm not stalking, I live by the water!" Kleë-shaës eyes rolled
"Hey I saw that!"
Kleë-shaë chuckled. *shes a strange girl, would probably fit in with our little group.*
"You like like the water huh?" Kleë-shaë hummed the question to you.
"I suppose so, its always so calming." You responded with a chuckle.
"Do you play any instruments?" That question surprised you.
"I play F/I..." you responded cautiously. For some reason you didnt quite understand the tone Kleë-shaë had. It seemed almost as if she was testing something.
"Interesting..." Kleë-shaë hummed once more "Well you should be heading home soon. It's late." She noticed the confused expression and that you where getting more guarded. So she decided to let the waters calm for a bit.
As you walked away Yolande slung an arm across Kleë-shaë shoulders. "You got your eye on that one?" Yolande grinned with her usual playful tone.
"I think she might be a good addition to the crew, besides when we get the Vepertine we will need a chef" Kleë-shaë quickly rattled out an excuse.
Yolande chuckles. "Well if ya ever do wanna pursue her I got some advice!" Kleë-shaë face heated up, blush creeping up her cheeks. Something that originally only her crew was able to do to her.
"Really, you and love advice dont usually seem to go hand in hand." Kleë-shaë chuckled remembering the time they attempted to set Valtraid up with some nice bartender girl. It didnt go well.
"EH come on that was one time!" Yolande grumbles "besides! Romance is my middle name after all."
"Yeah right!"
------------------
You headed home closing your door behind you. Your house was a quant little thing, it had a good view of the water and was quite close to the docks. You sighed kicking off your shoes and changing into a nightgown.
You flopped onto your bed and closed your eyes allowing slumber to take you.
Your dreams where tourment. Flashes of crimson and purple light. Fire consuming the tavern and monsters leaking out into the city seemingly stemming from the center.
------------------(time skip again cause lazy)---------
You awoke in the morning feeling groggy and got to work on the morning batch of bread. Yet you found yourself stumbling over your own feet and hands durring the process. You sighed and pulled the bread out of the oven.
"Maybe I was the one that shouldn't have over worked myself." You chuckled.
You put the bread in your usual basket putting a cloth over it. Then you went over your closet and pulled out a top and pants. Then you got dressed before grabbing the basket and leaving.
You rush as you normally do until you saw the little raft being loaded up, the pirates and warriors seemed to be heading out. Probably heading to wraith Island because that little raft couldn't go over open water.
You knew it was very unlikely they ever come back. Considering no one ever returned.
You rushed over to the raft before they left and handed over your basket. "Here! Some bread for the ride." The group seemed shocked but Kleë-shaës eye betrayed a hiden smile as she took the bread.
Notes:
So I just realized that yolande and valtride technically had to go with then to the wizards lair at first but we'll just ignore that for now. :p
Also I may want y/n to get yanderes with the other pirates but I do not know the ages of them all so we will see.
Chapter 4: The past always creeps back up
Summary:
Y/n find rimenders of her past when she takes a day of, and inside her mind she tears herself apart from memories
Chapter Text
Days soon return to their monotonous routine. Bake, sell, walk, sleep and repeat. One day you diceded to take a break. You woke up and went digging in one of your chests. You had a lot of unfinished projects that you forgot about.
However you found a memory that you abandoned a long time ago due to heart break.
Your hands curl around the handle of the wip and you lift it out of the chest. Routines flashing through your mind. Beatiful outfits, thrilling dares, and the girl who broke your heart.
Almost as if second nature you curl your arm over your head going througha routine, a favorite of yours. The wip cracked along with your delicate footwork. You spun around wip curling around your leg as you bowed.
Your hand curled around nothing, an attempt to grasp at your partner who left long ago. And whom you let go.
You sit on the floor opening the bottom drawer of your dresser. Inside was a picture of you two.
The tightrope dare devil that was your girlfriend, and the wip cracking animal handler that was your role. You hated that role. Hurting the animals. But you stayed for her, because even though you where free to leave she wasn't.
Your mind flashed back to what happened in your old abandoned life.
You walked into the changing tent you and your partner shared, eager to get out of the dress you had to wear for the show. Once you where out of your old clothes and into your relaxing ones you head back into the main tent.
Something was off, you where supposed to be practicing after a failed show. However, the net under the tightrope was gone.
You knew the ringleader was cruel. But you didnt know he would risk her life like this.
You screamed eyes filling with tears as you watched her body tumble towards the ground. A single misstep ending two lives that day.
One permanently, the other only killing the showmanship side.
You clutched the picture tears streaming down your face. You had tried your best to bury anything about that circus. That cursed playground of tourment. Yet you always came back to the photo. To your partners death.
You sighed and went for your usual walk this time sitting at the edge of the dock, waiting for something.
Notes:
Sorry for short chapter next one is going to be much longer and I wanted to drop some backstory
Because I know if y/n just started using a wip yall would become thirsty as heck and start adding sexual reasons for it.
Chapter 5: The crash site

Chapter Text
You where walking home at night when the sky turned bright red. Beams of light fly down from the moon into the city. Before you knew it fire was spreading people where screaming and you where running.
In your dreams you saw this, and you saw monsters. You knew you weren't a fighter in any way other then showmanship. But you grabbed your wip and went back to the streets.
Down by the dock you fought. wip slashing at the strange monsters. It kept them at bay, though was clearrly not doing much to harm them. Until you saw a knife slash through the air landing inside the eyes of one of the monsters. It fell to the ground motionless.
you where shocked and froze up before getting tackled away from the explosion. You looked up at the girl who was now ontop of you.
She seemed familiar, brown pigtails, similar face. However she had two eyes and was clearly not a pirate.
"You shouldn't be here!" She pulls you up to your feet. Thats when you knew. This was Kleë-shaë.
"I can help!" You didnt want to leave her to deal with them by herself. Thats when you realized she was probably in disguise and diceded to play along. "Who even are you anyway!"
She looked taken aback for a moment before stuttering. "M-my names seraï, and you?"
"Y/n" you smile. Another explosion quickly drawing your attention again and you wip away a monster.
The two of you fought together. Side by side, learning how to read eachothers movements. Until you see the original group of warriors "Hey guys!"
"Get over here! These things are tough!" Seraï growled. The others jump into action. Movements precisely deliberate, their weapons seemed to glow as they attacked and swiftly killed the monsters.
You join the group in running through the city, due to your not being much of a fighter the others told you to hang back and help people to the safe site. You where helping a person back when you looked up and a bit of the stone wall fell. You pushed the person out of the way knowing you where gonna get hit.
You closed your eyes as you fell forward before hands wrap around your waist and pull you backward. Your skin tingles and you open your eyes, suddenly ontop of the wall and in the upper half of town.
"Be more careful goddammit do you want to die!" Seraï! You spin around to face her.
"What just happened how did i get up here..." seraï glanced away rubbing the back of her head.
"I can make portals... your lucky I saw you when I did..." Seraï grumbled dusting herself of before standing and helping you to your feet, something that seems to be a recurring thing.
"Thanks." You flash her a smile before helping more people to the safe spot.
When you actually went over there yourself the other members of Kleë-shaës crew seemed to practically coo over you. Thats when you realized you where pretty scrapped up.
You had a long gash on your leg, large scrape on your left arm and a small scrape on your right cheek. Keenathen used windmagic to cool and sooth the wounds while yolande and Valtraid wrapped them.
"I'm fine! Really! There are other people who need attention to their wounds!" You attempted to pull away. To have then help other people who where hurt or scared.
"Hold still lass!" Yolande scolded. "The gash on your leg is deep you'll bleed out if we dont get it fixed!" Your eyes widened in fear.
"Wait what!?" Your mind started to race wondering what could have happened and how you even got it!
"You'll be ok! The wound will heal neatly or my name is not Keenathen!" You chuckled lightly.
"Besides Kleë-shaë made it very clear that if you got hurt badly we where to tend to your wounds first." Valtraid grumbled as he wrapped gauze around your arm.
"Why would she do that?" You weren't special in anyway. You where just a normal baker.
"She seems fond of ya lass. Might be because you gave us food for free or maybe she wants ya to join the crew. None of us know for certain." Yolande shrugged. It sounded wrong though, like they all knew something you didnt. Still you fell silent and allowed them to tend to your wounds.

Chapter Text
The group came back, with far to little people, tears welling im your eyes as you think of everyone who had died. Cause erupted as people argued over what to do. The remaining citizens seemed to be split in half of what to do.
Half wanted to leave thinking that they can't just rebuild after this calamity, after loved ones died in this disaster, while others wanted to stay refusing to leave.
She overheard something about getting a ship and bringing survivors to a new island if they wanted. You couldn't process of even hear everything over your shock but when the group started to walk away you grabbed Kleë-shaës sleeve.
"I wanna come." You plastered a determined look on your face. You weren't going to hide away, be passive and let something like this happen again.
"No." Kleë-shaë glared toward you. "You are hurt. And you almost died, you will not be going with us to the vespertine." That word startled you. The vespertine a ghost ship known to drag anyone who set foot on it under.
"I dont care I can help! I'm coming with you! Kleë-shaë sighs seemingly understanding that you wont budge.
"Fine, but stay away from trouble and out from underfoot." Your face light up as you followed Kleë-shaë to the raft. To your surprise Keenathen used his wind magic to lift you into the raft while Kleë-shaë simply jumped down ontop.
You where sat between Valere and Zale. Who seemed shocked to find you here.
"Why are you here!" Zale seemed almost panicked. Before Garl set a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm joining the fight." The two warriors glanced at eachother unsure. "I'm not letting something like this happen again." You pushed. They sighed but agreed to let you come along.
It didnt take long for your eyes to grow heavy. You where awake almost all night before you knew it you fell asleep.
Valere jolts as she feels a head land on her shoulder. She would usually expect it to be Zale but she knew you where seated in between the two. She cautiously looked down at you and then smilled a little.
"Looks like you got a little friend there Valere." Zale teased. This drew the others eyes to Valere who's face quickly heated up.
"She's not a fighter, she needs her rest." Valere came up with an excuse on the spot. *I can't just wake her up.* she thought.
She then felt a blanket wrapped around her shoulders and one around yours. This blanket was familiar, the one they used on cold nights. She looked back at garl who smilled and gave her a thumbs up. She smiled back.
Eventually you woke up as the raft was docking and noticed very quickly, in horror, that your head had fallen on Valeres shoulder. "Oh my goodness I am so sorry! I didn't mean to do that or make you uncomf-"
"Don't worry she liked it!" The blond boy called out from where he was stepping of the raft. Valeres face flushed.
"Zale! I did not!" She argued before glancing back at you. "It's ok though I didnt mind it." She helped you up and of the raft. You where glad to be back on solid land. Before you noticed the hike that awaited you.
Now you where wearing pants under your skirt but you where not dressed well for hiking, and was definitely lacking in the physical strength department.
You swiftly became out of breath and fell behind the others. Your face flushed with embarrassment, after you insisted you could handle this you've been fumbling ever since. First falling asleep, now falling behind. You saw switchbacks coming up and groaned. The pirates already up on the second half of them.
Yet your groan turned someones attention to you, before you knew it you where floating up to the switch backs. You gasped seeing how high up you where and squeezed your eyes shut.
A hand met your own as one of your feet hits the ground. "Your alright lass we got ya." Yolande chuckled. "Safety is my middle name after all!" This raised a giggle from you.

Chapter Text
They had given you the easiest job when setting up camp. Gather fire wood. You weren't even told to light the fire! Just gather wood! You bring the bundles of sticks back to the firepit.
"So anyone got flint?" You asked as zale started setting up the sticks for the fire. Your question raised a laugh from him.
"We wont need one." He pulled his hand back and opened it a small flame bursting to life inside. Your eyes light up with wonder. He then lowers his hand to the cone of sticks and it burst into flames.
And then things clicked. How they came back from wraith Island despite there being a dweller, how they easily defeated the monsters that seraï seemed to struggle with. "Your solstice warriors!" This excited realization caused another laugh from zale. "Whats so funny?"
"You didnt notice yet? Valeres hair literally glows durring the night!" He gestured toward the lunar monk who stuck her tongue out at him before returning to her own task.
"...I thought it was just the lighting... there was a lot of fire..." Your face flushed in embarrassment and he chuckled.
"Hey im just teasing!" He ruffled your hair. You where confused at the close gesture, something that seemed like it would be done to close friends and siblings. "Your almost as easy to get worked up as Valere!"
Valere heared her name called again and came over and slapped him on the back of the head before sitting down next to y/n. "He bothering you?" Zale rolls his eyes.
"No! If anything I was probably bothering him..." Valere shot a glare over at Zale who raised his hands in defense.
"I never said that!" Valere nods clearly not convinced. "Oh come on! She wanted to start the fire already so I was showing her my sun magic!"
"You're interested in magic?" Valeres voice sounded hopeful. You nodded, after all it always fascinated you.
Eventually everyone gathers around the fire. You asking a few questions about magic and getting answers. Chatter filled the air along with stories. It wasn't long before dusk fell.
Kleë-shaë attempted to get you to leave with her crew. While her crew eventually left you stayed strong. "I said im coming with!" You planted your feet.
"Fine... there's something you all need to know." She pulled her coat and hat of flinging them to the side revealing herself as Seraï. "Please dont tell my crew." The group glanced at eachother, zale was trying not to laugh.
"We uhh... we already new." Valere attempted to let seraï down gently. Seraïs eyes widened.
"What how!" Her eyes flicked around. "You didnt say anything! Didn't ask questions?"
"We figured you had a reason and we where gonna say anything until you where ready." Garl explained. You smilled at Seraï.
"I had suspicions, the mask, hair and voice was similar.." you wanted to let her believe she had at least fooled someone.
"You all are just to observant!" A Green flash camera from the sea and you all ran to the edge. Seraï seemed to notice how your face dropped seeing the distance between you and the ship at the base of the cliff. She grabbed your hand.
"We jump at the next flash!" Seraï shouted. The others nod while you clung to seraï. The next bright flash happened and the next thing you knew where where falling. Seraï pulled you into her arms and took the most of the hit on the landing.
You sat up "oh my gosh are you ok?" You pulled her up as the others stood and brushed of.
A teal ghostly figure stood at the wheel of the ship eyes wide with horror. "What are ye doin' ya fools the vespertine will return to the sea ov nightmares any minute-" the ghosts was cut of by a green flash of light.
You stumbled into someone who fell over arms wrapped around you. someone else once more taking the blunt of impact. As your sight returned you noticed it was Garl, you pulled yourself of him face blushing. The others stood and he helped you to your feet as the ghost began speaking again.
"Welcome to the sea ov nightmares." You looked up at the ghost, she wasn't tall person but was at least a head taller then you. "Nice job binding yer souls to an ancient pirate curse like that." The ghosts voice was something between mocking and concerned.
"Hello, we plan on taking the ship for ourselves." Seraï interjected putting herself between the ghost and the others.
The ghosts laughs. "Thats a good one, and how do yall plan on doin' that?"
Garl beamed and gestured ti zale and Valere. "These two are solstice warriors!"
"Pardon?" The ghosts tilted her head feathered hat shifting slightly.
'Were gonna use solstice magic, no monster us immune."
"Solstice magic eh? How can such a coincidence..." she shakes her head. "Yer 'nother hallucination, ain't ye?" She suddenly turns to the sea eyes wide. "BRACE!" You clutched the railing for dear life as a wave slammed into the side of the boat almost sending you over.
Hortance grabbed you by the back of your shirt and pulled you away from the edge.
"Aight stormcaller has sensed yer presence, s'pose that makes ya real." The ghosts seemed to sound sassy even when serious.
"Your the navigator?" Seraï stepped up and pushed you behind her once more. The ghost grinned.
"Hortance be the name." She took her hat of in a mock bow. "Use it." She added the quip as she plopped the hat back to its spot.
"No idea why ya got here but it's a relief someone can fight em!" She gestured to the ship where rotting corpses walked, guns and swords gripped tightly. You covered your mouth. "Squeamish one might wanna hang back a bit."
"Aren't they your crew members?" Seraï asked puzzled on why hortence wanted them to fight.
"Aye, going along with mutiny'll do ya in like lil' else." She then winced slightly at her own words. "S'pose instigating it is worse, sometimes I wish he also made me one of the brainless sort..."
"Your old captain, storm caller, how do we stop him." Seraï seemed to take lead in this conversation.
"What I've learned the past couple centuries, is that we can't. Curse only got two possible outcomes." Hortence makes makes fist and opens on finger, finger from the other hand landing on it. "Either Storm caller gives up," she then does the same with a second finger. "Or I let the vespertine sink, and neither gonna be happening soon."
"We could fight him" zale quips. Only for hortence to shoot that down.
"Storm caller be the most formidable wind mage ever known!"
"We can fight." Valere insisted.
"Ye reckon ya can beat a grudge so strong it magicked a parallel reality in witch to torture me for all eternity?" Here comes that's sarcastic and condescending tone again. "If yall are foolish enough to wag ya swords at him I wont stop ya."
Hortence then explained how to weaken a barrier in order to get to stormcaller. Hortence set you all to go fetch her map but grabbed your arm. "This one might wanna hang back until ye fight stormcaller, my crewmates ain't ain't the squeamish."
You opened your mouth to argue but seraï shot you down. "Good idea, she gets hurt easily, best for her to hang back with you for safety." You where shocked and frowned before hortence laughed. "Brighten up lass, we got ways to occupy ourselves."

Like what." You asked curious about what you would spend your time doing. Hortence hesitates.
"Uhh I've got books? Da ya like books? If not once below deck is cleaned out we could play some wheels?" You chuckled at the female ghosts attenpt to be a good host.
"Books sound good for now but I'll definitely take you up on that wheels offer later." Hortence smilled and lead you into a metal domed part of the ship, you quickly noticed it as a captains quarters.
"We got lots ov books an' maps here, help yer self to any of em!" Hortence leans against a wall. "Ya can help herself to the bed or the chair as well."
You walked up to a shelve and pulled a book out at random flipping through the pages. They had illustrations of sea monsters and diagrams of their insides. You smilled and layed on the bed. Odd how you could handle drawings of the inside of a body but not the undead outside.
You flipped through the pages occasionally stopping to read but for the most part looking for an interesting creature. Until you came across one that was serpentine but had a face similar to a sea horse.
"Hydralion...." you muttered reading the book, unaware to how hortence stiffened when you mumbled the name.
*she found the book... heh....should have hiden it better if I didnt want guests reading it I s'pose.*
"Ya like monsters?" Hortence attempted conversation. You glanced up from the book.
"More like a fascination with biology. It's incredible how these things evolve so diversily." Hortence and you end up sitting together on the bed discussing different monsters and biology. Several maps and books scattered around the bed as you compared different sources.
Eventually the group returns with the scroll. Along with a bit of seraïs cape being caught with green fire. You screamed, ran over and stamped it out. Hortence retrieved the map and opened it.
"Ah there we go!" And then emedently rolls it up handing it over to seraï. "Your a captain aye lass? You sail, I'm gonna play some wheels with this lill' scamp, been to long since me last game."
You tilted your head as Hortence dragged you below deck. "You'd you know she was a captain?" Seraï wasn't in her captains attire after all.
"She got a look about her, we sea fairing folk tend to be able to spot others." Hortence grinned as she took the game masters seat at the head of the table, you sat across from her.
"We only got one ov each piece so I'll let ya pick first." Hortence waved one hand while resting her chin on the back of the other one. You debated which one to choose.
Eventually you settled on the mage and archer since those where your favorites out of the ones you owned. Hortence grinned and chuckled pulling out the engineer and knight.
You knew that those two would hit your walls hard so you focused on attacking with the archer for the most part until both of hortences characters where close to acting. Unfortunately you didnt get enough for a wall by the time hortences characters got ready to attack.
First came the engineer bilding up hortences wall, and then it came at yours, your jaw dropped when you saw your health go down. "I DIDNT KNOW THE ENGINEER COULD DO THAT!" You yelled. Before groaning as the knight attacked. You where just barely above hortences health now.
Eventually after a back and fourth you managed to lower hortences health to zero, however hortences characters still got to attack, and you only had to health. You groaned as the white flag sprung from your crown.
"Nice job lass, tho ye might wanna learn how to play a defensive piece." Hortence braced a few seconds before the ship seemed to hit something, you on the other hand was sent flying across the ground.
Chapter 9: Storm caller
Summary:
You're first fight with the group. And your first ever combo.
Chapter Text
You and hortence ran upstairs to find the ship very precariously docked.
"I thought ya where a captain!" Hortence shouted at seraï
"I've never had a vessel this big before!" Seraï growled back.
"OK both of you calm down. Once the shield is down we can end all of this and get some fresh air." You attempted to keep everyone calm.
They left without you Once more leaving you and hortence to play more wheels. Eventually every rod was powered off you sailed to the center island.
"Storm caller got some strong magic, yall will want to make sure he can't call on any help," hortence called after you all as you climbed the mountain.
Seraï lead the group while you fell behind, zale and valere occasionally turning to help you up a jump.
Lighting cracked as the ghost stood infront of you all. Long teal beard flowing. He laughed a deep throaty sound. "So my reign is challenged once more." He pulled out a large sword.
Then the fight began, zale valere and seraï where usually in the front, only allowing you and garl to take one of the spots when they where hurt.
You swapped in taking over zales spot. The distance made it difficult for you to get close enough to land a heavy blow. Your wip simply grazed him. You looked to seraï who seemed to get an idea and opened a portal infront of you and you saw one open behind storm caller.
Taking this chance you lashed the wip once more watching as it swung around and got a heavy blow in.
then he started glowing focusing magic it seemed. Valere rushed in an attacked in an attempt to break his focus. Before he fell of the cliff.
Your eyes widened and you ran over to the edge. Before you where able to look down unto the water a giant serpent crashed up from the depths making you fall backwards.
You locked eyes with it and recognized. "Hydralion..." you ran back and tackled the closest person down, who was valere. Fire swept over you two and you squeezed your eyes shut. The second the fire stopped you helped valere up.
"How did you know that would happen!" She seemed startled yet she wasn't hurt so you took that as a win.
"I read a book, Hydralion has a liquid sack near its throat, when combined with its breath it catches flame." You attempted to explain before you saw a sword come into view. You cracked your wip wrapping it around the swordyet it still came for you and you fell backwards sliding closer to the edge.
Garl ran to your side and helped you up and away from the edge while the group continued to fight.
Eventually stormbringer did fall, and didnt come back. "We have to get back to the ship!" Seraï shouted opening a portal and getting everyone through.
The same bright flash of light happened and as your eyes opened you saw the blue sky once more. Then exhaustion washed over you. The others seemed used to staying up like this but you couldn't weren't as good at this.
The adrenaline durring the fight was also wearing of and your legs began to shake before you fell down to sit. The group rushed to your side.
"I'm ok... just tired..." you rested your eyes for a second before feeling someone lift you up. They where warm. So you fell asleep feeling safe.
Zale held your body up before turning to hortence "do we have anywhere for her to sleep."
Hortence thought for a moment. Of course there where hammocks but you deserved something comfier. "Captains quarters are probably the best spot for a nap." Hortence attempted to pick you up out of zales arms yet you flinched away.
Hortence was cold, they where dead after all. "You should take her, she seems unwilling to touch anything cold..." hortence grumbled watching zale take you into the room.

Chapter 10: Set sail
Summary:
You awake back in mirth right before you all head off for the new island and soon to be town of mirth.
Chapter Text
You woke up with your face burried in gray plush pillows. You stretched out and jolted as you foot bumped something.
You spring up eyes darting in the direction of the thing. You noticed Garl sitting at the base of the bed.
"Oh your awake!" He stated happily before standing up.
"Solstices! Garl you scared the living out of me! Why am I here... and why are you here." You rubbed your eyes and regretted sitting up desperately wanting to hide under the covers warmed by your own body heat.
"Oh you fell asleep so hortence had you be put in here. She also wanted someone to watch over you incase you woke up." You sighed and dragged yourself out of bed.
"So we gonna go pick up the people who wanna leave Brisk?" You yawned stretching your arms over your head.
"We already have most of them picked up, we where actually waiting for you to wake up so you could tell someone your address and they could retrieve anything that survived the crash." He stated opening the door.
As you walked over to the door you glanced behind you, still confused on why garl would sit on the bed when there was a large comfy chair behind the desk.
You quickly brought your attention back to outside the ship and stepped into the light shielding your eyes. Seraï was leaning against the railing beside the steering wheel back in her captains outfit.
"Your awake? If you tell me your address i could run and get your things." You shook your head.
"I'll go grab them, I'll bring what I need..." you didnt want to bring a lot. Your mind flashed to all the personal things you had including the framed picture.
Tears trimmed in your eyes as you rushed past everyone to where your house was. It was pretty badly burnt yet you made your way inside keeping your thoughts as positive as possible.
You gather a few of the clothes that survived and went to leave before your foot crunched on a clear shard of glass.
You followed the trail over to a frame lying face down on the charred floor. You picked it up tears escaping as you realized it was the one of you and your partner. You resisted the urge to hold it to your chest due to the shards of glass.
Gently, you removed the picture from the frame and tucked it safely into a bag you found along with your clothes. You slung the bag over your shoulder running back through the streets bag hitting against your leg uncomfortably.
You eventually slow down as you reach the boarding plank and walk back onto the ship. "Sorry guys! It took me a bit to find everything!" You called out as you made your way back to the group.
The plank came up and the ship set sail. You stayed above deck most of the time chatting with Kleë-shaë and hortence. Though eventually you leave to below deck when you heard music.
Down the stairs you went music growing. People chatted as you made your way to a somewhat seperate room. Inside the band was playing, the band that was also the other pirates.
Your eyes widened as you saw a little squid playing the flute. You've seen it before but it never moved so you assumed it was a carving.
You held back your excitement and urge to run over and play with it until the song was over and chatting started up once more.
You rushed over to the carpet. "Amazing performance guys! I didnt know you all played music!" You smilled attempting to make small talk before immediately skipping your friends to pet an animal.
"Why cha' ya think Kleë-shaë asked if ya played one lass?" Yolande retorted causing your eyes to widen by the implications. Valtraid nudged yolande with a stern look "ooh I wasn't supposed to tell ya that..."
"Wait are you saying she wanted me to join the crew?" You where confused since at the time all she knew you did was bake bread. You had no worthy skills.
"Don't tell her. The lass may look understanding but she'd have me walk the plank for spilling that." Yolande whispered to you.
"Don't worry, silence is my middle name!" You snickered to yourself.
"Eh that my line!" Yolande hooked an arm over your shoulder and you all bust into laughter.
Chapter 11: Mirth
Summary:
Y/n and the others get to work on building the town, and you learn some odd things about certain people.
Chapter Text
You played with the octopus and chatted with the crew until the ship docked. You followed the others up above deck. Valere and Zale where helping the passengers off while the others gathered everyone.
You felt slightly out of place since there wasnt much for you to do.
And of course once everyone was off the ship rolls started to be assigned. Once again you where given an easy roll. Taking care of those injured durring the fall, and assisting Garl with cooking.
Unfortunately you quickly learned it wasnt as easy as you thought. The injured people for some reason wanted to do anything other then rest and allow their wounds to heal.
"Listen I understand but no one is going to blame you for not helping when you have a broken leg!"
"Don't ya patronize me!"
You sighed. After a very long argument you left the injured tent and plopped down beside Garl. "I hate people... why couldn't I help with building instead!"
"Thats not very nice, besides I dont know how much help you'd be on harvesting and building. It took both valere and zale to move one of the logs!" He hummed stirring a very large pot.
"How's the stew going." The two of you added stuff to the pot until it tasted good. When the two of you finished cooking it actually tasted better then it smelled, which was odd for this kind of food.
You sat with the group as you ate. This made you learn a lot of different things.
Like Valere can't handle spice while Zale will constantly add more to his. That zale will fight with Valere over extra food, and that Garl has to stop the two before things escalate into full blown wrestling.
And that for some reason Zale doesn't know what personal space is. After Garl stopped Valere and Zale from fighting Zale pouted and just attached himself to your side for no reason. The others just laughed as you stiffened.
"Oh your getting the angry cuddles!" Valere laughed.
"What is going on. Get off me." You attempted to push him away only for his grip to tighten. "Why is he doing this?"
"Basically if he gets upset he goes to a person who wasnt involved to be consoled. Your not getting out of that until you comfort him." Garl explained.
"Or you could do what seraï did and try to stab him in the arm." Valere joked.
"This is... normal? He just cuddles random people?" Zale looked up at you and pouted.
"Oh so you can fall asleep practically ontop of Valere but can't handle me cuddling you?" Your face flushed at his comment.
"Fine." You grumbled unaware to Valeres red face. You run your hands through his hair and eventually his grip loosens.
Over the next through days things had gotten built up, while some of the buildings looked... less then up to code, it was still better then nothing, and technically a town. Every gathered around the central building.
Garl took a paper out of his bag that was supposed to have town name on it, yet you all quickly realized they where all filled with his name.
"I think they want you to name it." You hummed as the villagers cheered his name.
"Oh! Ok... let's see..." Garl paced around a but mumbling to himself. "I know Mirth!" And so that was the official name of the town. Mirth.
Over the days you added small things, a crop field, extra buildings for storing food. One day an old man came to the dock and asked you to grab Zale and Valere.
"Oh of course! They should be right up here actually!" You lead him up the stairs and Zale and Valere rushed to him. You decided to back of and give them some space considering the look on their faces it was something serious
Seraï came over to you and dragged you to where the other pirates where all gathered before sitting down and pulling you down with her. "Whats going on?" You asked as you got into a more comfortable seated position.
"Well lass seems like the captain has made up her mind on something." Yolande winked.
"Yes... I want you to be a member of my crew." She said plainly. Almost as if this doesn't matter much, yet you saw a twinkle of hope in her eye.
"I'm not really that good of a pirate! Or at any instruments!" You put your hands up as your face flushed from embarrassment.
Keenathen ruffled your hair. "Thats fine! After all most of use where pretty lousy pirates before Kleë-shaë came along!" You glanced down at your hands and figited with your fingers.
"Besides. We could use a cook!" Valtraid pipped up.
"If you aren't sure thats fine, ill give you some time to decide... just know that, we would all love to add you to the crew officially." She hummed. She hesitated for a bit before flopping her head onto your shoulder face blushing.
This caused various 'aww' sounds from the crew who quickly turned to teasing you two.
"Looks like Kleë-shaë has warmed up to her!"
"Indeed, I think she might like her more then us!"
"We can't have that now can we!"
The chatter eventually lead Seraï to pull away. Before sitting in Yolandes lap, that seemed to be a que of sorts because the others All went to cuddle her.
This time it was your turn to aww. Seraï kind of looked like an angry kitten after all the teasing.
That was before Zale and Valere came over. Their eyes watered lightly but they blinked it away. "We have a lead." Valere sniffled holding up a coral hammer.
Chapter 12: The grimoire
Summary:
You learn about where you are heading, yet want to do some light reading before leaving.
Notes:
This is a short one, just wanted a little bit of everyone's favorite traveling historian!
Chapter Text
"So where are we heading?" You hummed as you sat on your hammock, being given one near Zale and Valere.
"Lake Docarria, there's someone there who might be able to help us reach the dweller." Zale explained. "We aren't entirely sure what we are supposed to do but we'll figure it out once we get there!" He reassured.
You hummed. "Ok, if you say so..." things seemed odd about the place you where going, and mentions of the dweller didnt dampen the anxiety.
"Nervous?" Valere hummed the question and crossed to sit beside you on the hammock. You nodded. "You got nothing to worry about, your fast, strong, and smart, you will know what to do if anything goes wrong."
"I hope your right..." you mumbled as Valere pulled you into a side hug. She gave of older sister energy, in such a way that it soothed a lot of your nerves.
"Were gonna go above deck and see how close we are, you coming?" Zale asked brightly.
"I'm actually going to stay down here, find something to read." You definitely wanted to get through more of the books hortence showed you.
"If you say so." Zale shrugged before the two left you. You wandered around trying to find where some of the books where put, hortence mentioned bringing some downstairs for you.
As you where passing a carpeted area with a few large pillows thrown about when you saw a large book. You assumed it was filled with maps or something similar.
So your surprise was great when, from the second your fingers brushed the cover it sprung to life. Flipping through its pages to a blank one. You tilted your head before realing away as a feather zoomed down the stairs and began writing. You tried to see what was written before it slammed shut and a voice caught your attention.
"Oh my gosh I am so, so sorry!" The pink haired historian began apologizing profusely. " I really got to warn people about the grimoire!" She fussed as she plucked up the purple feather and tucked it into the pin of her coat.
"Grimoire? Like a spell book?" You asked.
"No, no, its a lore grimoire, it writes about whatever touched it, as long as it had an important story, it doesn't react to many people." Before you could say anything Teaks put the book on her lap and flipped through her book, eyes quickly scanning the page that wrote itself recently.
"W-wait I-" you reached out your hand before Teaks's eyes widened at the words on the paper. You pulled back averting your eyes.
"I... I'm so sorry... this is awful..." she mumbled pulling you into a hug. You didnt respond allowing her to hug you but also glancing away.
"Don't be... I'm ok, it happened a long time ago..." you mumbled willing your eyes to stay dry and your voice to not break. It did hurt. But you didnt want to make people feel bad about you. After all it was a year ago.
"Its still awful! I can't even imagine loosing a partner like that, you poor thing." She hummed. "I wont share this with anyone if you'd rather keep it secret..."
"I'd like that... I'd like that a lot..." you mumbled tucking your head into Teaks neck as you tentatively leaned into the hug. "Thank you..."

Chapter Text
You went upstairs shortly after the incident with Teaks, being outside was good for you after all. You knew that the others saw that something was wrong. But you didnt have the energy to say it was alright.
Seraï seemed to notice that you wouldnt want to talk about it. So she stopped Garl when he tried to go to you and went herself. "Hey." Seraï mumbled leaning on the railing beside you.
"Hi..." you responded. You watched as the island got closer and closer. At least you would have a distraction soon enough while traveling.
"Lake Docarria is supposed to be beautiful." She hummed glancing over at you. "You excited?"
"More nervous, but yeah I am a little excited." You responded eyes darting to the ocean. "I like the water... it'll be nice going to a lake, even if its a salt water one." You recalled how your hair got crunchy after swimming in the ocean.
Seraï chuckled a nervous laughter if anything. Something was weighing on her to. However she also didnt want to talk. So the two of you just say there in echothers company. It made the weight lighter for you two.
The ship docked and you all sent off onto the shore. Some of the group, mostly Garl glanced at you and seraï from time to time.
A cave caught the curiosity of Zale who urged the group to go into it. You all walked inside and where met with a large gray frog, it had a somewhat shrunken shapped object on its head. Seraï pulled you down as the object went flying toward the group. Valere got nocked back by the item before it returned to the frog. The battle began.
You lashed your wip striking it across its face. The battle was going well until the creature opened its mouth and you saw a gray tongue fly at you. You screamed as it wrapped around you and pulled you into the creatures mouth.
You began to panick, kicking at the creatures mouth. It was wet and slimy you breathing grew heavy, the warm air was hard to get into your lungs. Yet right when you where stopping fighting and about to accept your fate the creature fell. you felt strong arms pulled you out of the gapping mouth.
You panted for air recoiling as your slimy clothes met the air and chilled you "yikes we need to get you cleaned up." Valere chuckled nervously in an attempt to calm you down.
"That thing wasnt poisonous was it?" You asked in a panick only for a chuckle to come from seraï.
"Your ok and not going to die, its not poisonous ." Seraï held back more laughter. "You will want to get that washed out though, but by the looks of it we do have to swim anyway." You shuddered as you all headed out. Once you reached the water you dunked in an attempt to get clean.
The gunk washed away easily but it still didnt feel right. "If you need I can help you once we reach a campsite, I can help you wash all that out." Valere hummed once the group reached the next patch if land and she helped you up.
Zale threw a smirk at Valere causing her face to go red. "Not like that Zale! I ment getting it out of her hair!" She said lunging at zale and ruffling his hair.
"Guys calm down! This place is dangerous, we have to pay attention to our surroundings." Seraïs eyes flickered around. They stopped messing around begrudgingly and follow suit, paying close attention to the trees.
Small birds scatter away beneath their feet. That was until two large bird jump into the path. It was annoying but you where able to take care if them relatively injury free.
After many puzzles and very annoying encounters, you stepped up to a slightly elevated area before a glowing orb showed up, turning into a triangular portal.
"Serously!? Can we not go five minutes without being attacked by anything!?" You yell in irritation. However the others expressions showed anger. Thats when two seperate cloaked forms stepped through the portal. They wore birdlike masks revealing three eyes.
"You!" Zale shouted and gripped his sword, the others all readied their weapons as well. Hesitantly you grab your wip.
"Now, now, there's no reason for you to see this errand through." The voice of the taller figure chidded.
"Whats the matter, scared?" Valere growled. You never saw Valere use this tone before, not even when irritated at the others shenanigans.
"My aren't we feisty." They hummed crouching down to start Valere in the eyes. She took a step forward and the figure stood back to full hight. "We dont have to quarrel, simply handed over the hammer and we'll be on our way." They hummed.
"Come and get it then!" Seraï glared.
"Three," they hummed glancing at the other who held twin blades. "Commence."
Valeres hands glowed and she sent up a beam of light protecting her Garl and seraï, while you and zale fell back. Right away three slashed at Valere breaking her shield and spun to slash at garl, taking his shield down as well.
Seraï opened a portal falling through and throwing darts hitting one after the other over and over again until she landed back on the ground.
It went pretty well until seraï got injured. You switched in lashing the wip at the strange cloaked figures.
The one with the shield looked annoyed dispite the mask that blocked their face. They tapped the shield with their own sword and crouched down. Three dashed bouncing of the shield to slash the swords at both you and Valere. You winced but stayed up while Valere fainted.
"Valere!" Your eyes widden and you move forward. Memories flashing to one of the most complex routines you had ever done. The wip cracked and spun. Your mind on one thing. Protecting the fainted.

NEW SKILL LEARNED, COUNTER!
y/n lashes the wip to defend a fainted teammate, causing large wip damage. However this uses up all of her MP

You panted by the end of the routine almost falling over. Fortunately the offenders winced and fell back.
"It seems this round is yours." The portal opened once more. "Savor it, the next time we meet will be the last." The then spun and walked through the portal.
Valere sat up rubbing her head. "Oww..." she groaned. You dropped your wip rushing over to her.
"Oh my gosh are you ok? You fainted and got hurt and I dont know what to do!" You spoke in a rushed tone holding back tears.
"Hey, hey I'm ok. A little banged up but nothing Zale can't fix." She patted your head before motioning Zale over.
"Fix? How can he fix it..?" You mumbled confused. Zale chuckled before holding his hands over Valeres wounds.
"Sun magic can hurt, but it can also heal. Just like how Valeres Lunar magic can be both a defense and an offense." He explained as his hands glowed and the wounds sealed themselves not even leaving behind a scar.
"It doesn't even scar? How is that possible." You asked grabbing his hands and inspecting them. "How does the healing work, and how does it work so fast?" He chuckled nervously.
"I dont really know, we didnt go into the technicality of our powers or how they worked, we just learned how to use them in fights." Be mumbled pulling his hand away.
Seraï grabbed the back of your shirt hauling you up earning a giggle from the others. She placed the wip back in your hand. "Ok biology nerd, you can freak out later when when we reach the camp site." She hummed. You groaned but followed seraï.
Eventually she saw a spot a bit of from the Path and you all set up camp. Before you all settled down for dinner Valere headed over to you.
"If you'd like we could head down to the river and I can help you get all the old gunk out now." She hummed offering a hand to help you up. You gladly took it.
"Thanks, I hate the feeling of it stuck in my hair." You responded as you all walked away from the campfire.
You sat in the water against Valeres legs as she scrubbed at your hair. "Its nice having you here. I love the boys but they get a bit much at times, and seraïs always been so guarded and quiet."
"I like being here to. My wonder and love to the outside world almost died off before. Thats why I was in brisk, it was safe and if I didnt change my routine, I wouldn't get hurt again..." you mumbled unaware to Valeres eyes widening.
"I can't believe that. I wont believe that if you didnt join us this bright and cheerful girl would have died away stuck in a monotonous life." She whispered cupping your face. You smilled.
"Even if I would have im not there anymore. And while the wounds I have are still there, they are healing..."

Chapter Text
"Its beautiful." You gasped as all of finally reached the lake.
"Under the waves of a blue lake dwells a lost city." Seraï mumbled as if recaling a story.
"What? I can swim but its impossible to hold your breath long enough!" You gasped at the news. No way anyone could survive that swim. "And aren't all lakes blue?"
"Yeah this is way to deep!" Zale hummed looking into the water.
"Well, if it comes to it there's something I've been meaning to-"
"Hey look!" Garl interrupted Seraï and pointed to a bell.
"That looks similar to the coral hammer Moraine gave us." Zale stated. You glanced at Seraï who kept her eyes on the ground.
"Worth a shot." Valere shrugged.
"right..." Seraï hummed. The group jumped into the water. Due to the large drop Garl grabbed your hand to provide some comfort, and pull you along so you didnt sike yourself out.
You took a gasped of air and let go of Garls hand as you hit the water. You attempted to open your eyes just to emedently regret it from the sting of salt water.
You got a above water using one hand to rub your eyes and everything else to keep you above water. You looked around. Seraï seemed to struggle more then the others when it came to staying above water. That confused you because of her early coment you assumed she was a good swimmer.
The group swam to the bell. Valsre moved easily as if in her element. Which technically made sense due to her lunar magic. Garl was slightly better then Zale who took his time and occasionally switched to floating on his back and swimming that way. Meanwhile you hung back and provided some help whenever Seraï needed it.
Speaking of Seraï she fell under the surface of the water often, you always pulled her back up to her insiting that 'she didnt need it.' Her insisting the confused you since due to her mask you assumed she would practically be water boarded when it got wet.
Eventually you all made it to the bell. Valere tapped the hammer against it. Causing a beatiful sound to ring out across the lake. All of the sudden the ground began to rumble. Huge pieces of land rose from the water, the beautiful blue spilling over it.
"Stairs?" Valere hummed. Garl didnt hesitate just started heading up the stairs, so you and all the others followed. You ran your hand over the outside of a gaint sea shell. You headed inside followed by the others.
The first thing that caught your attention was the mosaic flooring. Then a voice. "Welcome to Lake Docarria travelrs." A fish like humanoid spoke. Blue scales glistening.
"Hello! We are looking for the oracle of tides!" Garl spoke cheerfuly as usual. When it came to strangers Garl seemed to be the voice box.
"You coming as been foreseen, solstice warriors will always be welcome here." The creatures nodded.
"Is this the temple then?" Valere hummed looking around. You doubted it due to how small the room was.
The creature chuckled. "Oh no, the temple is in the Village, it sits at the ocean floor, deep below this lake." It explained.
"But-" zale started just to be cut of by the creature raising its hand.
"Worry not, you will soon become attuned to the deep." They reasured. "The first step of the ritual is here." They stepped to the side gesturing to the glistening sea shells behind them.
"This is exciting!" Garl hummed. You smilled, that cheerful energy was able to wash away any nervous you previously had.
"Pick the sea shell that is most beautiful to you." The creatures hummed.
Garls eyes went wide with excitement. "We get to keep one?" He rushed forward looking at the shells. "Oh sorry do you mind? This is really special!" He turned around asking the group.
You waved him on chuckling. Zale also laughed. "Of course, go ahead!" Valere smilled holding back her own chuckle.
He looked around at the shells, deciding on one before changing his mind. "This one's the best! What do you think Seraï, y/n?" You two where taken aback for a second.
"What? Uh- sure?" Seraïs words stumbled out confused.
"Its very pretty!" You smilled. It was a nice curved shell with a vibrant pink color.
Garl confirmed this one with the creature who nodded and stepped infront of the group as garl joined you all.
"Now to complete the ritual you must go to the sacred grove and let the sea shell drink from its alter. Only then would its magic resonate with you." The creature hummed.
"What kind of magic?" Zale asked head tilted.
"The kind that will allow you to breath under water." It smilled. Garls face lite with excitement once more. "Its the only way to reach Docari village and meet with the oracle." It hummed.
"Will it work for all of us..." Valere asked uncertain.
"Dispite your group being larger then expect, yes, provided you stay close to eachother." It reasured. The bit about the group being larger then expected confused you, until you realized they probably where only expecting Zale and Valere. Solstice warriors.
Garl handed the shell to Valere and you all headed out.
"The gate will be unlocked, your destination is to the northwest." West was heavily emphasized. "Make for the sacred grove. Under no circumstances are you to go to the northeast, you are to stear clear of tourment peak." The creature stated firmly.
The group set of mumbled thank yous to the strange creature. You stepped out of the jungle into an open plane. A tall mountain was spotted to the east. A sense of dread washed over you. Valere and Zale seemed to have a similar reaction to it. Garl didnt even seem to notice it, while Seraï didnt seem bothered by it.
You subconsciously sticked closer to the group as you traveled occasionally glancing back to the mountain until you walked into a grove.
"Doesn't look that sacred." You hummed.
"I think we need to go up." Zale pointed to another level.
After a few puzzles and fighting a few creatures (also Seraï leaving to grab some daggers she spotted.) you made it to an area that look significantly more sacred. You all walked across a path in the water to a bowl and set the shell inside.
"I dont think thats technically drinking... more of... sitting." Seraï mumbled. As Valere pulled it out. It had a strange glow now.
"So do we just... go in the water and breath? What if we drown?" You mumbled.
"We wont... I can feel it." Garl smilled. The group turns to a whirlpool that appeared.
The group jumped into the water and you all dived down. You refused to not hold your breath. Halfway down you try to go back to the surface just to be grabbed by Valere who held you close all the others stopping their swimming and watching.
Pressure bilt up and you breathed in. Expecting wayer to fill your lungs you where welcomed with air.
"If you swam away you would have drowned." Zale explained voice muffled by the water but clearer then it should have been.
You eventually made it back to the lake. You hesitated once more but less this time allowing yourself to breath, only when very close to Valere. When you made it down into the water the group headed to the temple.
"I think its best if I stay out here..." you mumbled. "It doesn't feel like a place i should go in." Seraï glanced at the entrance but decided to sit with you.
"To be fair, whatever is in there is probably just for Zale and Valere. The solstice warrior junk!" She chuckled. You smilled.
Over some time eventually Seraï moved to hold your hand. You smilled and leaned against her. Unfortunately for you two that was right when the group walked out.
"Aww! Look at the two!" Zale teased only for Seraï to jump away from you in horror. "That was adorable!" He chuckled though something about how he said it sound wrong. You brushed it of to your unease.
"Anyway there's a tower we need to go to and its through a waterfall in here." Valere explained. You followed them in, through the waterfall and eventually into the tower.
"This is full of puzzles isn't it..." you groaned. "I'm not much help with those, ill probably stay back in this room with Teaks."
"Ok well come back to you if we see anything that feels important." Garl smilled. "Wouldn't want you to miss out!" You smilled and sat on the damp floor beside Teaks.
The others left and you and Teaks got some time alone. She flipped through the book telling you stories she gathered. You noticed another bookmark in the book, this one red clashing with the color. You knew it marked your page.
After a long time the group ran back in. "We found something!" Zale smilled and pulled you to your feet. You followed the group up to a door. "The second we saw this we went to get you!"
"We think that the big mystery that the oracle mentioned to us is behind it!" Garl spoke cheerfuly.
"Ok but how would we open it. It doesn't have handles," your pushed against it. "And its not a push door, or if it is its locked." This place gave you a similar unease that the mountain did, though this one felt almost... good in a way.
Valere placed her hand against it only to pull away later. "Not resonating with solstice magic either."
"Maybe we just have to knock!" Garl spoke cheerfyly sending a loud nock to the door.
"Come in." A weathered voice rang out. It sounded young, yet at the same time old. As if grown wise from a young age.
You weren't given time to muse however for the doors sprang open.

Chapter Text
The open doors reveal a gaint library in the shape of a circle. Books overflowed the shelves and lay scattered on the floor, an old weathered looking desk sat at the opposite end along with a golden chair. A single purple gem glinted from within.
"What is this place..." Valere mumbled as you all stepped inside. Her eyes drawn up to where the book shelves spiraled above you.
"Smells musty." Garl noted looking around. You noticed there was a thick layer if dust on everything
The chair scraped against the ground and a form wearing tattered and torn clothes stood. "Good evening and welcome to the great archives." Small eyes peered out from the tattered mess if robes around his face. He locked eyes with you for a few moments before breaking away and stepping toward the group.
"Please excuse the mess I tend to get absorbed in my work." He hummed.
Thats when it clicked. While you lived your life in routine you still read many stories including one of The Imortal Alchemist.
"Wait are you-" Zale began to ask before the mysterious figure held up their hand.
"Titles are for stories and myths. Please, call me Resh'an." He waved his bandaged hand.
"Resh'an..." Valere hummed seemingly trying to commit the name to memory.
"Thats cooler then X'tol!" Garl said amused. Resh'an chuckled lightly. "Wait your the immortal Alchemist?"
Resh'an glanced away. "I suppose. If thats what theyre calling me now." He muttered.
"Alchemist sir we-"
"Please call me Resh'an." He interrupted Zale once more.
"If your the Alchemist can't you just fix all this then?" Valere mumbled with a glare.
"Unfortunately no. I'm bound by a very strict code. There are no words to describe the suffering that would ensue if I took matters into my own hands." His gaze turned far away eyes unfocused.
"Woese then a dweller turning into a world eater." Seraï growled from her spot. Her eyes narrowing.
"Not to minimize what's happening but in the grand scheme of things your reality is one of many." He matched Seraïs tone sending a stern glare her way. "By fixing your world I would unleash Aephoruls wrath on countless others." That name he said. It made you shiver, it didnt sound bad, the name itself somewhat pretty, yet there was an underlying tone of malice in it.
"Who's Aephorul." You pipped up. You stayed silent for most of the conversation due to feeling somewhat out of place. However you figured it was better to speak up now then stay silent the entire time, especially when that question hung in your mind.
Resh'an seemed to hesitate. "My... former associate." He was choosing his words very carefully eyes calculating. "While your people refer to me as the imortal Alchemist I believe he is now referred to as the Fleshmancer."
You let out a gasped of surprise. The others seemed equally as shocked. Except for Seraï, she instead glared even harder. If you had heard stories of the immortal Alchemist you deffinitly heard stories of Aephorul well thr fleshmancer and you now knew that he created devastation in any world he went to.
"Is he hiding somewhere here?" Valere mumbled eyes darting around as if he would simply walk out of the shadows.
"Your world is safe, at least in this regard, he left long ago." He sounded tired. White orbs looking downcast for but a split second. "Should he learn of my presence here..." he shook his head.
"He could take him! He's nothing but a loser!" The entire group turned to stare at garl in utter shock.
Resh'an cleared his throat "now, it appears time is of the essence."
"We need to get to Mesa Island can you help or not?" Seraï hissed. She gave you the same vibes that cobras did. Scary, deadly, venomous, but also intriguing.
"I might.but the real question is can you help yourselves." Resh'an hummed.
"We can fight." Valere butted in expecting that ti be the answer. Resh'an let out something between an amused snort and a chuckle.
"Of course. This however is about whether you are truly who I am hoping you are." He snapped his fingers and a glowing portal opened. "I am sending you to a remote location. There, incase in ice is an important artifact."

NEW YANDERE
Resh'an. First thoughts: "I didnt expect this to be the timeline she got involved in."

Chapter Text
You where emedently chilled to the bone when you stepped out of the portal. You had dressed properly for the humid jungle climate you where in before, not this frozen waist land.
"Why did we have to go somewhere so cold...." you shuddered. Seraï gave you a worried look before removing the cape like part of her robe and fastening it around your shoulders. "Wait no seraï you dont ha-"
"Tempeture doesn't bother me much. I like the cold." She reasured. You hesitated.
"Thanks..." you mumbled and followed the group who had already started walking. Every fight was torture. Your number fingers having to grip your wip and your movements sluggish.
Durring one of theses fights one of the creatured rolled into a ball and barreled toward you. You braced for impact. That never came. Garl had used his shield to shove it away, having it slammed into the cliff instead.
"You're struggling. We can take it slow and try to find a place to rest if you need." He hummed placing a hand on your back.
You took a shakey breath. "I'm fine. Just not used to cold weather..." infact the coldest place you've been was Mirth, and it was far colder here. "Might have a bit of altitude sickness as well." Your head had been hurting since stepping through the portal.
"We should probably get to a camp spot soon anyway. Its almost night." Seraï hummed. The rest of the group agreed. You still couldn't help but feel like half of them where just saying that on your behalf.
Even still a camp site was made. You gathered any dry kindling you could find. It wasnt much. Even still the fire eventually was steady and you settled very close to it.
"You're gonna get burned." Zale hummed sitting further from the fire.
"I dont care Im cold." You grumbled. The fire was hot, you liked the heat.
Zale seemed to get an idea. "Come here! I know how to get you warm and you wont be burned!" You hesitated but went over to him. He then quickly pulled you into his lap and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"What are you do..." you trailed of as you felt Zales sun magic heating his skin. "Isn't this uncomfortable for you?" You mumbled.
"What heating my skin? Or you sitting on me?" He teased but didnt give you an option to stand up. "Heating my skin is easy and comes naturally by now, and sitting on me is fine!" He hummed and rested his head on your shoulder.
Valere and garl had finished setting up some bed rolls and came over to sit by the fire. Valere chuckled. "I didnt have a choice in this! He tricked me!" You acused. Zale only giggled.
"You'll learn to love it when he does this. Trust me its a life saver sometimes, especially when your on your period!" She hummed sitting beside you and Zale.
"He does this when your on your period..." you thought for a moment. It would be nice, heatpads helped but they always got cold to quick. "I'm gonna have to keep that in mind." You chuckled.
Zale grinned ear to ear. "See its nice! And I get cuddles and you get warmth. Its a win win."
