Chapter Text
The bright city lights shine through the glass of the walls of Evelynn and Ahri’s penthouse. Friday Night in Los Angeles gives so much ambient light that it’s almost not necessary to turn on your own lights. Evelynn is tapping her fingers mindlessly on the ornate wooden table as she searches online.
“Foxy?!” Evelynn cries out, not taking her eyes away from her task.
“Yes, my love?” Ahri replies, the faint sounds of piano keys stop.
“It’s 80’s night at Foxy’s Tail, correct?” Evelynn asks, lowering her volume after noticing her wife approaching her.
Ahri gently sits herself on her wife’s lap.
“Yes dear, you found some interesting talent?” Ahri inquires excitedly, laying an eager kiss on her wife’s temple.
“Yea this caught my eye, Dragon’s Breath. It’s a thrash metal band. That’s almost exclusively from the 80's.” Evelynn explains as she scrolls their band website.
A quintet of heavy metal personified.
Akali Tethi - Rhythm Guitar
Kai’sa Tethi (Wife of Akali) - Rhythm Guitar 2
Kayn Tethi (Brother of Akali) - Lead Guitar And Vocals
Aphelios Orlan - Drums
Alune Orlan - Background Vocals and Bass Guitar.
“Oh they’re so pretty! Especially those three.” Ahri says with a tinge of lust on her tongue, instinctually licking her lips.
“Who? The two guitar girls and the Drummer? That messy crop top is definitely doing…” takes a second to look at the names.
“Kai’sa some favors.”
“No way they’re sisters right?! They look nothing alike, they must be married” Ahri says with a
disappointed sigh.
“When has that ever stopped you, you little horndog” Evelynn teases.
“First off, you make me sound like a homewrecker. If you’re going to a swinger party, I’m sorry but I’m going to fuck your wife. That’s just how it goes. Secondly, I see how your eyes light up every time I invite you to go to one. So really, we both are whores.” Ahri says with venomous lust as she lunges in for violent affection, her fangs ever so lightly digging into her lover’s neck.
Evelynn is able to quickly break through her sex induced euphoria to finish sending the message to the email listed on the website.
The instant it confirms it’s sent she picks up her wife and bends her over the counter.
“I’ll show you who’s the whore tonight” Evelynn whispers with dangerous lust, grabbing her wife’s chin and pulling her face towards her to meet her eyes.

The streets are bustling, bars and clubs surround the area. The loud murmur of various conversations and music reverberates through the streets.
Tonight though, for these two lovebirds Akali and Kai’sa. The loud rumble of noise is almost deafened as if the gentle touch of their hands were a mute button for the world. Their hands were held lovingly as they walked down the streets with guitar bags on their back, not an unusual sight for Los Angeles.
Akali is on her phone looking for directions to their favorite dinner spot, Jermaine’s Food Truck. It moves up and down the block so it’s never in the same spot for more than an hour at a time.
“Kali be careful with your battery, remember the power is out in the shelter and we need an alarm.” Kai’sa reminds gently, her voice soft and quiet. Normally it would be drowned out by the loud ambience, but for Akali it’s as loud as it needs to be to always be heard.
“Yes baby, I kn..” Akali cuts herself off from shock.
“What’s wrong, love?” Kai’sa inquires softly.
“I think we got a gig!! Tomorrow night at the Foxy’s Tail!! 80’s night!!!” Akali tells excitedly, bouncing on her toes.
“I didn’t know Foxy’s Tail played metal? That’s awesome, we are gonna rock their world!” Kai’sa exclaims, matching her energy as best she can.
“No no, I’m gonna rock your world” Akali says with a sly smile as she gets on her tiptoes to smooch her wife.
“Aww sweetie, happy anniversary to you to” Kai’sa says after a quiet giggle.
“We have to meet them tomorrow at 3 pm. Then our time slot is at 9pm” Akali reads intently off the email.
“It’s already 2 am, we should get back to the shelter soon” Kai’sa says with a slightly shaky tone, grabbing tighter on her wife’s hand.
Akali senses her wife’s anxiety and wraps an arm around the taller woman as they walk.
“Babe, it’s okay. We will get back soon and we will get plenty of sleep. I made sure our room is reserved. I wanted to make sure our anniversary night was the best it could be.”
Kai’sa just looks at her wife with her charming and shy smile. For Akali, a silent smile from her wife says a million words.
“That’ll be 10 dollars please, ma’am.” The older gentleman standing in the truck requests respectfully.
The 10 dollar bill leaves Akali’s wallet painfully, that’s all they had to their name. Even if it was for some hot dogs from a food truck, these hot dogs from a food truck had all of the love behind them.

The girls make it back to the shelter, they stand outside it for just a second. The memories of their beloved apartment lighting aflame flickers into the two women’s mind as they walk in. The seemingly endless corridor is full of rusty and busted up doors, the floorboards squeak as they walk until they get to their room.
55A
A girl with black and white hair stands up to greet them.
“Hey, Alune” Akali whispers as she brings both Kai’sa and Alune in close for a quick hug.
Aphelios is by the windowsill and gives the two girls a silent welcoming grin and wave.
Kai’sa waves back,
“Hey Aphel”
“How was your anniversary date?” Alune asks quietly as the group goes to sit down at the small table.
“It was really good, we just went to Jermaine’s Truck. I have some good news.” Akali says not being able to contain her excitement.
“We got a gig at Foxy’s Tail! They’re having an 80’s night. We need to be there by 3pm and our time slot is from 9 pm to 10 pm.” Akali states aloud, as if reading from a script.
“Alright, I’ll make sure Kayn is up by then. He’s…struggling right now.” Alune says, nervously rubbing her arm looking at the sleeping Kayn. He’s lying on his back on the floor, he promised to let Kai’sa and Akali have the bed tonight so they can have a nice finish to their anniversary night.
“Girl, go be with him.” Akali shoos her friend away.
She nods and lays down next to him on the floor, taking some of the covers of his body.
“I’m gonna get ready for bed, love” Akali says to Kai’sa, giving her a quick peck on the lips before she walks to the shared bathroom.
Kai’sa walks over to Aphelios who’s sitting on the windowsill, looking out to the moon.
“You okay, dear?” Kai’sa asks, mirroring his position on the window.
Kai’sa has always enjoyed spending time with Aphelios, his level of quiet has always been so comforting.
He silently nods and makes eye contact, after a silent sigh he signs,
“Can’t sleep, thinking about family”
“Yea I get that” she says with a tired chuckle.
“Take the time you need, but get some sleep okay?” Kai’sa says as she gives him a loving pat on the shoulder.
He nods quietly and continues looking back outside the window.
Kai’sa yawns as she waits in bed, patiently waiting for her lover who comes out momentarily.
Akali gets under the covers with her wife and lacksidasically wraps her arms around her wife’s waist.
“I feel bad for taking the bed, even if it’s our turn.” Kai’sa whispers ever so gently.
“I do to, but we get to make out. That’s like, the best part.” Akali whispers with a grin.
Kai’sa’s quiet giggles make Akali’s face slightly redden.
Akali gently presses her lips against her lovers. In this moment of calm intimacy is when red scales start to form on her hand.
Kai’sa loves to rub her fingers on them, the texture is always so satisfying.
They release from the kiss, their breath turning to one. Akali’s dragon fangs are longer now, which always made Kai’sa blush.
“I love your teeth” Kai’sa whispers with a goofy smile.
“You’re a weirdo” Akali whispers with a giggle.
“OWHM!” Akali makes an over exaggerated chomping noise at Kai’sa’s face, making sure to only graze her face with her lips.
Kai’sa giggles and pulls her lover close.
“I love you, my little dragon” Kai’sa says groggily as she falls to sleep.
Akali gives her cheek a smooch and closes her eyes.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
The morning light shines through the glass walls of the penthouse, which woke up both Ahri and Evelynn.
“Good morning, princess” Ahri says through a tired smile and a lazy smooch.
“Good morning, dear” Evelynn reciprocates.
“It’s 12pm isn't it?” Evelynn asks as she stares up at the ceiling with dread.
“Yes dear, I say we go take a shower. Get breakfast and get ready to meet the band.” Ahri says with a convincing smile, staring directly at Evelynn.
“Yes, Foxy” Evelynn says with a grunt as she gets up.
“I’m getting old”
“Evelynn we are immortal, we don’t get old!” Ahri yells from the bathroom.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
“C’mon Everyone, get up. It’s 12pm, we got three hours. Hot water is on for our floor, we need to take advantage.” Akali exclaims from the tiny kitchen in their tiny shoe closet of a room.
“Aphelios and I don’t do our makeup, why so early?! ” Kayn groggily retaliates.
Aphelios looks at him awkwardly as he’s putting on eyeliner.
“Well! He’s….well..he’s him!” Kayn retorts, slightly flustered.
Aphelios gives him the kicked puppy look.
“Knock it off! Let’s get ready, girls are gonna take a shower first then.” Alune butts in from the bathroom.
They somehow managed to fit two separate shower stalls in their tiny room, so it worked for both the girls and the guys. Akali and Kai’sa are rarely going to say no to taking a shower together.
Aphelios rolls his eyes and walks towards the bathroom door and knocks.
“Come in!!” Says the feminine voices from the shower, as he walks in he knocks on the glass mirror gently to tell the girls that Aphelios is entering the room. Mainly for the purpose of avoiding certain….miscommunications. Aphelios knocks on the glass again to signify he is leaving and closes the door. This was a system they had since the band started. Every time someone was showering you knock on the door and wait for permission to come in and announce when you’re coming in and leaving. This specific instance was a non derogatory way of “putting a bell” on Aphelios persae. These were Quality of Privacy rules you needed to work out when living with five starving musicians trying to make a living in Los Angeles.
Another Quality of Privacy rule of living with five people in a cramped apartment, come out from the shower with bare minimum shorts and a bra or T shirt. It’s a bit awkward only wearing a bra and shorts, but it’s even more awkward when you forget you’re not home alone and the boys in your house are all in the living room…right where the bathroom is.
The girls come out of the shower and are quickly replaced by the two boys. Which only gives the girls a SOLID 5 to 7 minutes to be presentable. Which for someone as fashionable as Alune, never ends up being the right amount of time.
“Akali I’m sorry, I got told while you were gone last night that I have to work the soup kitchen today till 7ish or they’ll kick us out. None of us have gone in a while.” Alune says with a worried tone.
Akali sighs, she really believes that this opportunity could give them a really good chance but putting your eggs all in one basket is rarely a good idea.
“It’s okay, we’re gonna need a place to sleep. It’s your night for the bed by the way” Akali says with a comforting smile.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Akali leads the group through the backstage entrance and it’s massive. At least five dressing rooms line the walls, various instruments and instrument supplies are along the opposite wall. Akali and Kai’sa take a second to admire the different guitars.
“Ooo I love the Explorer shape!!” Akali exclaims, gently lying a finger on it.
“Well you can play it if you want, dear” Evelynn calls out with a mischievous smile. The sudden entrance slightly startling the two guitarists, who instantly straighten up at the sound.
Evelynn and Ahri lock eyes with Kai’sa, Akali and Aphelios. There’s a palpable energy in the air that is keeping them in a stasis. An intimate gravity that is keeping them locked in time for these small moments.
“What the fuck is going on?” Kayn whispers to himself.
“Well, allow us to introduce ourselves. I am Ahri and this is my wife Evelynn, I take it you four are Dragon’s Breath?” Ahri says with a professional smile.
“Yes, we are. I’m Kayn, Akali, Kai’sa and Aphelios. I apologize but our bassist Alune is not here, she’s handling a very pressing matter” Kayn proudly introduces as he steps in front of the group to attempt to cut off the energy that is between both groups.
Evelynn takes a mental note of the names, particularly of the names of the people that caught their eye.
“Well, I want to get all of the necessities out of the way. You’re the first timeslot, starting at 9pm to 10pm. This gig will be base $3500 per performer, up to $500 of incentives based on how we feel about the performance. So you better woo us, little Dragon” Evelynn says with a tinge of flirty fun, watching Akali cheeks redden slightly gives her a slight tingle in her chest.
$20,000 is life changing money, enough to get them out of the homeless shelter at least. This was their big break and everyone of them could feel the anxiety piling.
“We will be in the building, just come and find us if you have any questions. Feel free to take your time set up instruments, do sound checks or whatever your pre-show routine is. You know the code to the door so you have access to the building if you need to leave for whatever you need. See you all tonight” Ahri explains.
As Ahri finishes explaining she waves as the two matrons turn around and walk away, shocked looks paint their face.
“Did…did you feel that Eve?” Ahri whispers to her wife.
“Yes I did, I was almost entranced by their eyes. It was heavy” Evelynn whispers back, slightly confused.
“You think it was…” Ahri questions with nervous eyes.
Evelynn quickly cuts her off,
“Dear, let us not rush to conclusions. Maybe we just found them particularly attractive. I know we have a thing for the rockstar look” Evelynn jokes, giggling afterward.
“I’m…going to the bathroom” Kayn announces awkwardly as he walks away.
Aphelios signs,
“Did you two feel a weird energy between us and them, I was locked with their eyes”
“I felt it too, that’s so weird. I haven’t felt anything like that.” Kai’sa replies quietly.
“Let’s not worry about it right now, we have 20 grand to make. Do we have a set list?” Akali shakes her head, struggling to stay focused through the pictures of the two women in her mind.
Aphelios and Kai’sa shake their heads no.
“Okay, I think seven songs should be enough”
“Testament to the One?” Akali asks
They both nod.
“Dead Saviors?”
They nod again.
“Militia of the Fallen”
Aphelios rotates and stretches his shoulder and looks unsure.
“Shoulder not feeling it?” Kai’sa asks.
“I’ll do it, it’s my favorite song to play anyway” Aphelios signs.
“Good Boy” Akali jokingly flirts with a pat on his shoulder. His face slightly blushes at the praise.
Did I just do that? Akali asks herself confused, she’s always liked him. He was always very calming to be around, it helped temper the storm that is her mind and soul. Seeing how he treats Kai’sa always made her feel comfortable around him.
Kai’sa playfully giggles at the interaction.
The group helps set up a drum kit and other instruments on the stage.
“Alright I’m gonna get my voice warmed up, Testament first?” Kayn asks as she’s walking away.
“Yea testament first, take your time we gotta warm up to” Akali shouts back.
Evelynn and Ahri are in their office towards the back of the club, Ahri’s ears twitch to the sound of instruments playing. She pokes her wife in the arm.
“They’re doing a sound check, let’s watch!” Ahri yelps excitedly as she yanks her wife to a back row seat in an attempt to stay hidden.
The song begins, it’s a bit sloppy at first but the groove is caught by the two observers.
“Why do they look so fucking hot playing guitars?” Ahri whispers to her wife.
Evelynn sits and admires the three, the boy’s focused look catches her attention. When people are ultimately focused on something, it’s always been super attractive.
That magnetic energy is back between the observers and performers, stronger than before. Entrancing the observers. Ahri’s tail swishes excitedly.
“Eve! It’s happening again..I think we…”
Once again cut off by Evelynn.
“Ahri, love. I know what you’re thinking, but I don’t want to rush into things. I feel it too, but this isn’t something you just throw out there because you’re touch-hungry.” Evelynn warns.
“Eve, it’s not that. I’ve known you for hundreds of years, I know you’re feeling the same thing. This isn’t just us finding them attractive, this is something different.” Ahri whines from frustration.
“I am…it’s exhilarating but I just want to take it slow. Let’s see how tonight goes, okay?” Evelynn says with a soft smile as she softly locks eyes with her wife.
Their ensuing kiss is slow but passionate, full of love and warmth.
The song ‘Dead Saviors’ finishes and Akali looks directly at Kai’sa who looks drained from the song, this was one of the songs where she really struggled to keep her rhythm. It’s a difficult song with some weird time signatures and key changes, to most players it doesn’t feel natural or intuitive but for some reason it just works. Akali lightly skips over to her wife and jumps into her arms.
“You did so good, baby!!” Akali yelps with a bright smile.
The praise makes Kai’sa redden through the swift kiss.
“T..thank you, dear.” Kai’sa mewls out quietly.
“My wrist hurts now,” Kai’sa says with an awkward giggle.
“Let’s take 30, we are doing good on time” Akali announces.
Aphelios rolls his eyes in relief and leans back as he massages his shoulder.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
“I’m excited!” Kai’sa says quietly standing next to Akali, futzing around with her dark purple guitar, almost a true replica of her wife’s.
“I am too! Especially for the Pyrotechnics! I hope they don’t mind” Akali says, bouncing on her toes in excitement.
“Just don’t hit anything with it, and aim it so I can actually hit it with the spray so it turns purple” Kai’sa reminds gently.
“If we don’t get our 20 thousand from THAT then they have it out for us. EVERYBODY loves Pyro” Kayn says through a chuckle.
“Ooh, it’s about time to see our girls!” Ahri squeals in excitement, sitting on Evelynn’s lap. The matrons are sitting in their personal box seats high up towards the back. Evelynn has a chair that is almost her throne, Dark crimson colored oak with red cushions. The room itself rarely gets used but they felt this was a worthwhile show.
“Welcome Everybody!! For the first act of 80’s night we have the up and coming Dragon’s Breath. A blast from the past band that only cares about speed, power and raw energy much like their Thrash Metal predecessors from years past.”
Dragon’s Breath starts making their way onto the stage behind the lightless void that is the backdrop of the introduction.
“Welcome Everybody, DRAGON’S BREAATH!!!” the announcer shouts as he backs away into backstage.
TINK
TINK
TINK
TINK
Goes the sound of the cymbal to signify the band starts. The first chord is struck and Kayn steps up to the mic.
“KILL THEM ALL” Kayn at the top of his lungs as the band starts. The tempo is blistering, the energy is high, the room is moving, the air is full of the proverbial fire of Metal. (and sweat, ew)
The Queens upstairs feel a sudden rush of energy, their chests feel on fire, their eyes widen and lock with the others as they catch the groove.
Ahri yanks her wife off the throne and starts dancing with her cheesy 80’s rock and roll movie style.
Evelynn is laughing aloud as they’re moving, her joyous smile matching her wife’s. She hasn’t felt this level of pure, unadulterated joy in millennia. Her body and mind are moving so freely, no thoughts. Just laughs and giggles.
In all of their fun, they don’t notice that a mark is being etched into their arm that was not there prior. But, now is not the time to worry about newly formed magical marks on your body, it’s time to DANCE and Headbang.
Admittedly, this deep into the set, the matrons were getting a bit tired so they resorted to standing together and watching. Holding each other and slightly bobbing up and down with the rhythm, the fire and energy in their chests are still ever present. Ahri’s acute vision notices how extremely fast Akali’s picking hand is moving. Small horns have grown from the guitarist’s head and ruby red scales have formed on her picking hand, the light reflecting off of them is a gorgeous red hue.
“Eve, Akali is from Ionia! She’s a Dragonkin! I didn’t realize they still existed!!” Ahri squeals, pulling on her wife’s hand to point her in the direction of her vision.
“Is Kai’sa wearing contacts? Since when did she have claws?” Evelynn asks, baffled by the performer’s transformation.
Kai’sa’s eyes were now a deep purple with black pupils, her hands having turned purple. Her nails turned black and longer as if she had claws.
“A voidling? What a brave one, she is” Evelynn states fondly.
The final song of the set approaches its close and Akali looks at Kai’sa and winks.
As Kayn holds out the last word of the final line,
“Moth into FLAME”
Akali tilts her head up and lets out a massive breath of red fire, being perfectly aware of the distance to not hurt anyone or anything. Kai’sa sneaks behind her and her hand shoots out a purple powder and makes the fire turn into a purplish blue.
“Oo oo oo!! Eve kiss me! It'll be awesome!” Ahri jumps excitedly into Eve’s embrace and smashes her lips against her wife’s as the roaring flame lights up the Box Seats with a purple/blue glow. Their fingers intertwined, held up casually to their eye level.
The song ends and a roar of applause reverberates through the building.
“Eve! What’s that mark on your arm? Wait, why is it on my arm??” Ahri and Evelynn hold their arms out to each other. It’s a tattoo of a Music Note on fire.
“I…uh don’t know.”
“We’ll figure it out later, let’s go meet the band” Ahri exclaims as she yanks Evelynn down the stairs.
“That was great!!” Kai’sa exclaims in her trademark quiet voice. Aphelios jumps onto her back from behind to show his excitement.
“Big guy here likes it too,” Kai’sa says as they make eye contact for a little longer than normal. Both looking away awkwardly.
Alune looks down at her phone,
“Shit!! Our neighbor texted us that someone new is coming and they’re trying to get our room. Kayn! C’mon!!” Alune yells as she quickly jogs away.
“Sorry! Y’all did great!!” Kayn yells as he follows behind Alune.
“I cannot help but agree. Right, Ahri?” Evelynn says with a smile, their in sync applause reverberating through the backstage area.
“YES! I haven’t felt that rush since the 80’s!!” Ahri says excitedly.
“Thank you, Evelynn. It was really fun. What did you think of the Pyro? It was the best part in my opinion” Akali boasts confidently.
“That was in fact the best part, little dragon” Evelynn says with a tinge of soft flirting.
Ahri looks down at the band members wrists,
“Did..you three always have that flaming music note on your wrist?” Ahri asks, feigning confusion.
They all look down confused.
“How the hell? We did not have that before!” Akali cuts herself off when the two matrons present their wrists, showing the same exact tattoo…in the same exact spot.
“Ahri and I can’t get tattoos, dear. At least not through normal means.” Evelynn says, addressing the three in the room.
“I think…we creatively imprinted ourselves on each other,” Ahri says with a soft smile.
“Wh…what? What do you mean, creatively imprinted?” Kai’sa asks nervously.
“The universe, through the creativity within ourselves, connected us.” Evelynn explains awkwardly, attempting to not scare the three off.
“So what? We played music you like and now the universe made us soulmates?” Akali questions with a rough tone. Her eyebrows furrowed in disbelief.
“Sort of. Your soul emits creativity when you do something creative. That creativity that your soul emits affects the consumer’s emotions when they experience a piece of your creativity. Sometimes your piece of art resonates with the consumer to the point that Creativity itself leaves a mark on the souls of all the people involved.” Ahri takes a moment to explain, it’s not a familiar concept to people that are not invested in the spirituality of Runeterra.
“So the universe wants us to date now?” Akali awkwardly chuckles.
“Not necessarily, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that you’re already married to one of them and I’m already married to the other one. We didn’t have this mark before today and we’ve been together for millenia” Evelynn explains.
“I mean, it makes sense. I can mostly always tell what you are thinking, Kali… I was always able to at least somewhat tell what Aphelios was saying before he even says it.” Kai’sa says as she shrugs her shoulders.
“Was that… that weird feeling when we first met?” Kai’sa asked quietly.
“I think so, her and I couldn’t take our eyes off you three. The universe was telling us something.” Ahri explains.
“Aphelios, how are you feeling?” Kai’sa looks back at him.
“It’s weird, but I’m not opposed to giving it a shot, if the universe deems it so” Aphelios signs.
“It’s scary, I know we don’t know each other. All we ask is that you give it a shot. We’ll take it slow, all at each other's pace. Let’s just get to know each other before we jump into anything” Ahri says with a soft smile as she offers out her hands.
“We do not want to force you three into anything, but it would mean a lot to us if we tried it out. Let’s at least start out with potentially becoming your manager.” Evelynn says, also reaching out her hands.
Aphelios puts each of his hands in Evelynn and Ahri’s hands. Evelynn and Ahri are surprised by the soft texture of his skin.
The small leap of faith made Kai’sa and Akali look at each expectantly.
Kai’sa takes a deep breath and reaches a hand towards Ahri’s.
Akali following suit completes the verbal commitment.
“Uh, well then. We can transfer you the money, the Pyrotechnics definitely earned you the agreed upon bonus of $500 per performer. Coming out to $20,000.” Ahri says with a soft smile, a small tinge of blush touches her cheeks.
“Thank you for the opportunity, this is seriously life changing” Akali says, her eyes wide and full of appreciation.
Akali kisses Ahri and Evelynn’s hand gently.
Akali looks at her wife expectantly, better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Kai’sa nods, telling her everything she needed to know.
“Of course! Let’s exchange numbers before you go. Feel free to text us at anytime” Ahri says, holding out her phone showing the Add a Contact screen
The group leaves and all look at each other with tired and awkward smiles. Akali offers a hand to him as they walk.
Aphelios shrugs and takes it while signing,
“At least they’re hot”
The two girls have a laugh.
“They are pretty hot. You gotta admit that, Bokkie” Akali says, looking at her wife with a smile.
“I can’t say I disagree” she says, laying a kiss on her shorter wife’s head.
Chapter 2:
The morning arrives, the sun shining bright through the window. Akali is usually the first one up when it’s her turn on the floor. She typically sits against the wall and waits for Kai’sa to wake up, spending their morning together has been a ritual for their whole relationship. Aphelios sits up and rubs his eyes, seeing Akali in her normal spot he decides to scoot next to her.
“Good morning, hun” she says with a smile.
He nods, acknowledging her greeting.
He looks at Akali’s shoulder nervously. He takes a deep breath and gently lays his head on Akali’s shoulder. The unexpected contact startles her, but she doesn’t refuse.
“I’m nervous about it, Phel. I don’t want to hurt her.” Akali whispers to the man laying on her shoulder, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
He looks at her and signs,
“Akali, you haven’t committed to them yet”
“I get that but, this whole soulmate thing. That feeling isn’t something I can just brush to the side, I don’t know how to describe it. I felt attached as if I was a part of their whole. It’s not that I didn’t feel whole with Kai’sa, but this new feeling puts things into perspective. God I sound like a whore of a wife” Akali pouts, hiding her head in her arms.
“Akali, your feelings changing doesn’t mean you love Kai’sa any less. You’re not cheating on Kai’sa, you’re just adding to it. It’s not because she isn’t enough, but there’s just more to be had. Like you said, that feeling is impossible to ignore. The thing is you don’t even know them yet, maybe they are people that we will fall in love with and it’ll make it easier to understand why this all happened” Aphelios signs.
“You’re right, thanks Phel. If those two don’t work out, I still think you’re a cutie.” Akali says with a giggle, making Aphelios blush.
“He is a cutie” Kai’sa says in a groggy morning voice.
“Wait, you two want to date me?” Aphelios signs with a slight tinge of confusion on his face.
“Aphelios, we’ve been at each other’s hip for years. We’re stuck with each other, this whole soulmate ordeal just solidified it for me.” Kai’sa says confidently
“If it were to be anyone else to date it would probably be you” Akali looks down at him with a smile.
Kai’sa scooches over to sit in between his legs, laying her head on his chest.
“Kai, you seem kind of excited about this soulmate thing. With Ahri and Eve, I mean” Akali points out, reaching out to hold her wife’s hand.
“I am, that feeling we had was too strong for it to be chocked up to me being a gay mess of a woman. If you’re okay with it, I’m gonna trust it. No matter what happens, I won’t love you any less” Kai’sa whispers and reaches up to plant a kiss on Akali’s jaw.
“If you two are gonna trust it, then I’ll follow your lead” Akali says with a smile.
Just do it. Akali says to herself, quickly laying a kiss on Aphelios’ cheek. He looks up quickly with a sly smile and reciprocates, generating a warm and fuzzy feeling in their chests.
“Okay, I’ll admit. I see why you dated him, I get it now” Akali admits with a giggle.
“That’s all it took?” Kai’sa asks with a chuckle.
“Bokkie, you KNOW pretty boys are my weakness.” Akali says with a matter of fact tone.
Aphelios grabs one of Akali’s hands and holds it to his face, gently rubbing the back of it. The silent sign of affection is maddeningly adorable.
“Well I’m not a pretty boy, what does that make me?” Kai’sa teases.
“No you are not a pretty boy, but you are my wife. That’s something Aphelios doesn’t have over you. Not…because he’s not good enough, but because he’s...not a girl. Yea that didn’t go how it did in my head” Akali awkwardly corrects herself, making her partners laugh.
Kai’sa is having a hard time controlling the volume of her laughter, Aphelios luckily does not have that problem.
“Wait…that means I have a boyfriend now. I’ve never had a boyfriend. I finally have the, ‘I have a boyfriend’ power. You better come to our rescue, Phel.” Akali says with a chuckle, pulling her man in closer.
“Don’t worry your White Knight is here to protect you both, just ignore the fact that I’m shorter than the both of you” Aphelios signs with a silent chuckle.
“You’re lucky I don’t wear heels, Kai’sa is just tall, good luck with that.” Akali chuckles.
“I’ll figure out a way to climb that tree” Aphelios flirts, looking down at the taller woman with a sly smile. Feeling the confidence of the moment, he leans down and places a smooch on her lips.
Kai’sa’s face lights up tomato red and covers her mouth out of shock.

Evelynn and Ahri are up early, lazing around their penthouse.
“Have they been stuck in your mind since last night, too?” Evelynn asks, looking across the counter to her wife who’s making breakfast.
“That boy’s jawline is so delectable, you do not understand” Ahri says clinching her fists in slight arousement.
“That Kai’sa girl seems so sweet, the way she was celebrating after the show. It was really cute.” Evelynn says with a smile.
“We are obsessed, I know. Reminds me of when I met you, I heard you playing in that tavern and I knew you had to be mine.” Ahri reminisces, turning around to serve her wife breakfast.
“You seemed scared to say that we imprinted on them at first, why? I thought you were always willing to add more if the people were right” Ahri asks, resting her chin on her hand.
“I take this soulmate stuff seriously. I just wanted to be sure before we walk up to strangers and say ‘Hey, I know you just met us but do you wanna date us!!’ Kai’sa and Akali are already married, that would have gone down bad” Evelynn concedes with a sigh.
“I understand. Why don’t you text them! Maybe they’ll be willing to go out for lunch or something. We do need to talk business though since we are their manager now.” Ahri suggests as she cleans up the cooking mess.
“Good idea, Foxy” Evelynn says, pulling out her phone to text Akali.
E: “Good Morning, Dear. I hope you slept well. I’m texting to ask if the band was free to meet up to talk business. Manager stuff or whatever.”
A: “Mornin, Eve! I don’t know if it's going to be a good time today, we are starting to move out of the shelter. We are apartment hunting today”
E: “Shelter? The homeless shelter?! Oh dear, that will not do. As your manager we refuse to let you live in these conditions”
A: “Lol, Evelynn, that's why we are going apartment hunting. So we can not shove five people onto the floor of a rundown homeless shelter.”
“They live in Sarah’s homeless shelter! Our clients are trying to shove a band of five into a shoe closet” Evelynn sighs out of frustration.
“What?! Oh no no no, they are going to move into the house in downtown LA. I’m not having our soulmates live in those conditions. Tell them the address, we will be down there shortly.” Ahri says with vigor in her voice, going to go get changed.
E: “Akali, save your money. You’re going to stay in our home in downtown LA, I’m not having my soulmates live in a shoebox.”
“So I kinda told our new managers about our current living situation, they’re wanting us to move into their house in Downtown LA. We’re doing that…right?” Akali addresses the group.
“Yea, the fuck?! Not even a fucking question. Let’s go” Kayn answers incredulously, dumbfounded that Akali even considered turning down that offer.
A: “Fine, Evelynn. You win, we will accept the offer. Thank you, it means a lot ❤️”
E: “I knew you’d see it my way, all I ask in return is that you three tell me the story of how you ended up homeless in the first place. Whenever you’re ready, that is. No rush :)”
A: “I think we can manage”
