Chapter 2: The Work

Summary:

After a long day during their meet and greets Shelly finds out they might get an reward!

Ok this is really the beginning

The closed gates. The best thing that was going on right now for every toon. "The kids..." Astro murmured, hugging his blanket around him tightly. Pebble whined, hiding behind Dandy. "Those aren't kids..." Shelly whispered. "They are demons." Vee stated, clutching her microphone. "No. No. They are kids!" Sprout said, trying to bring up the mood. "Until they get hungry." He shivered at the realization.

Every toon either hated or disliked the meet and greats. They, the children, were so chaotic fighting what group goes with whom and what toon is the best. "You think we can manage?" Dandy's said. "No." Shelly said triumphantly. The mains looked at her, confused by her happiness. "But we gotta do it anyway!" She said. They all nodded in agreement.

All toons were in their stations after a while. Cosmo and Sprout at the bakery, Vee by the stage of her room, Shelly standing by the entrance of her floor, the craft siblings at their arts and craft center, so on and so forth.

Looking at the clock, their fear was getting closer.

"5," Poppy mumbled, looking up at the clock.

"4," Boxten said, holding her hand tightly.

"3," Shrimpo added his tough act failing him.

"2," Tisha said, rubbing her hands together.

"1..." They all said in unison, looking at the gates.

Nothing has come out of the trains yet. "Huh...?" Boxten murmured. "Well!" Poppy said. "Looks like we had nothing to worry abo-" she shouldn't have said that. Why did she say that?
They thought they won and no one was coming. They were so wrong.

Kids busted through the door, almost running the starter toons over. "AH WE'RE BEING FLOODED!" Shouted Poppy laughing. "This is gonna be a long day." Shrimpo pouted angrily, crossing his arms.
A little girl copied his movements, making him more annoyed. "Just keep the act up, and it'll be alright!" Boxten said. "AHH SPIT GOT ON ME!" Tisha shouted.

The only people who got the most fun out of this were the circus troop. The tricks they formed kept the kids entertained. Really allowing some to do what they please. The best part is that the trio actually had fun while doing it, so it's a win-win. Once their performance is over, most kids go to have fun while the tired ones go to Astro so they can have a deep sleep.

"This is all going so good." Delilah exclaimed over a walkie-talkie. "Yea... we should reward them with movies tonight..." Arthur said. Shelly overheard him and smiled. The hard work is paying off. They'll get a break aside from sleeping once.

A movie with all the toon together sounds nice! Well, minus Shrimpo, but it will be nice. "I wonder what will happen..." Shelly questioned.
