The final battle between Susie, Kris, and the Knight. Even after all the strength they've gained throughout their adventures, Susie and Kris still aren't strong enough to defeat the knight.
As victory seems just out of reach for the heroes, the Knight laughs maniacally before slashing across Susie's torso, from shoulder to waist, her body split in two. Blood sprays from the wound, the flesh where her torso separated turning to dust right before her eyes. She flies back from the force, landing on the ground, facing the dark starry sky. Her eyes welled up with tears, the faces of her friends flashing in front of her eyes as she felt her soul shaking, cracking and splitting in two. She mutters an apology under her last breath, flashing her brightest smile to the sky, her body crumbling into dust..
She feels a warmth in her chest, not just warmth, but a BURNING. Her dust stirs as her form destabilizes, clinging onto life with all her might. "I'm not ready yet, damn it!!" Her inner voice yells. She takes another breath, steadying her thoughts, trying to keep it together. She knows that if she dies now, her friends, her FAMILY, everyone she knows and loves will be thrust into eternal darkness. Despite what the prophecy might say, she can't let it end here, not like this.
She clenches her fists, her soul burning, burning up the ground beneath her as the tears on her face fall away and evaporate. She forces herself to stand, her body defiantly keeping itself together, refusing its fate. The burning of her soul gives off a brilliant flash of light, Kris defending themselves with all the strength they can muster, glances back at the brilliant glow, bewildered and confused.
The Knight, grinning at the clear opening Kris has left them, slashes with the might to crush entire worlds. But just then, their blade broke at the guard, a purple light moving at incomprehensible speeds flashing past them in an instant. Wide burning wings sprout from the back of the vibrant figure behind them, a tail lined with a spiked spine trails on the ground, and an axe with a blade wider than a boulder slices through the shadows with a warm glow.
Her gaze fixed on the Knight, the figure raises her axe for another blow, and strikes faster than the eye could ever hope to see.
However the attack missed its mark, the Knight weaving past the devastating blow and raising another blade to point it at the girl, a snarl spreading across its face as Kris fell to their knees before the two terrifying figures. The battle began just the next moment, a flurry of swords and burning energy flying in every direction, not a glimpse of the two Titanic beings could be perceived as they lit up the battlefield. Suddenly, a single blow landed, the Knight flying away from the girl and crashing into the ground. Susie's eyes burning with determination, gazed at the cloud of dust kicked up by the fall of the Knight from her devastating attack. She folded her wings behind her back, grinning as she pointed her axe at the blurry outline of the wake the Knight left lingering in the air, her tail whipping at the ground.
"Is that all you've got, dumbass?! I thought you were supposed to be the big bad! I thought I would have to try a little harder than THAT to take down the Roaring Knight we've been fighting against all this time! " She swung her massive axe, an ark of rude energy flying towards the cloud of dust, unveiling the Knight hiding inside.. Or so she expected-
Suddenly a sharp pain tore its way up her spine as the Knight melded its body to Susie's, the mind splitting maniacal laughter ringing in her ears as it slowly spread across her body. Was this power.. really not enough? Kris, watching in horror, suddenly felt their wounds mending themselves as Noelle and Ralsei rush to their side and ask what's going on.
Kris explains as quickly as they can while Susie swings at the creature fused to her back, her tail swinging around wildly, trying to crush the foe with brute force. However it's all in vain, the parasite is already seizing control as pain constricts around her mind. Susie grits her teeth, more tears stream down her face. This really was the end wasn't it? And now the Knight would be even stronger than before, there truly was no hope. Kris, Ralsei and Noelle rush over to the thrashing beasts. "H-how can we help her!? If it's too strong for Susie what are we supposed to do..? " Noelle yells over the commotion in front of them, tears in her eyes as she watches her beloved friend thrashing in pain. Ralsei responds quickly, "This is it.. This is our chance to defeat the Knight once and for all! Noelle, Kris, surround them, and focus your will into your SOULs!"
Susie strains against the control of the creature with all her might. Suddenly, voices ring out and echo in her mind. She can just barely make them out.. "Susie..! J-just hang in there! We'll get you out of this..!" Coming from her left. It sounded like.. Noelle?
"She's right Susie! Hang in there, and we can banish the Knight once and for all!" To her right. It sounded like.. Ralsei?
She hears another voice in front of her, it tells her to keep fighting, and not to give up. She opened her eyes, seeing her friends around her as she fought against the pain now spreading throughout her entire body.
However, the burning she now felt in her chest wasn't painful, it felt a lot like before she lifted herself off the ground just moments ago. She WASN'T going to die here, not like this. Because now her friends were here, and she knew that they were going to save her no matter the cost.
The three heroes concentrating their strength, lifted their souls above Susie's figure, her body now enveloped in a sickening darkness, demented eyes sprouting from every surface.
Noelle thought, "I-i can do this, I HAVE to do this. Susie's going to be okay, I just know it!"
Ralsei closed his eyes, the ground beneath him shimmering. "This is it, isn't it? The ANGEL'S HEAVEN. Susie, hang in there for just a while longer, and this nightmare will finally be over!" He thought to himself.
Kris planted their feet into the ground, thinking of all the incredible adventures they had until that point, all of them leading to this one single moment.
They all took deep breathes, concentrating on the culminations of their beings. Just then, a brilliant fountain of light burst from the ground, the shadows of the three heroes stretching endlessly behind them as they all stood firm. Susie felt a warmth flowing up from under her, the haunting laughter that ravaged her mind now replaced by screams, though slowly fading. She felt much lighter as she now faced the sky, her brilliant wings stretching outward. It was calm, light stung her eyes a bit as warmth beamed on her front. She lifted her hand above her face, blocking the bright light as she opened her eyes. It was a brilliant blue sky, clouds floating by, and a gentle breeze flowing over her. She sat up and looked around, it was the town she knew and loved, Kris and Noelle lying on their backs just like she was, their legs outstretched in the opposite direction she was facing.
She got to her feet quickly, shaking each of them awake.
"Hey.. Hey guys wake up!! I think we did it, we beat the Knight!" Noelle slowly opened her eyes, a blurry but familiar figure crouched over her. Her ears rung for a second before she concentrated on what the figure was saying.. "Snap OUT of it dumbass!"
She heard, the familiar voice filling her with euphoria as she was suddenly lifted off the ground by her shoulders, being shaken back and forth. "W-whhaaat haaapeneddd-?!"
She said as she was whipped back and forth. "You're awake!!" Susie exclaimed, as she wrapped her arms around the shaken reindeer, sniffling as she planted her face in Noelle's shoulder. "I was.. Worried about you." She said, trying to regain her cool as she wiped away her tears.
Noelle embraced Susie back, leaning against her strong figure and smiling with relief. "I should be the one saying that, faha.." Tears welled up in her eyes, dripping onto Susie's shoulder.
Kris sat a few feet away, watching on and smiling, happy that their friends were alright.
Susie and Noelle walked over to them, sat down beside their friend and all three laid back onto the grass in unison, breathing sighs of relief that their worries were finally over.
