“This is… a dream?” MC gasped, cowering backwards with her hands over her mouth. Her golden eyes wavered with confusion as she stared at the men in front of her. “I-it has to be… This has to be a dream!”
Stepping forward was the sweet and timid Ray. He wore a flustered expression with concern, reaching toward MC with a shaky hand.
“D-don’t be scared! It’s ok if this is a dream!” He stammered, nervously casting his gaze to the side. “As long as you’re happy, princess…”
Saeran was next to step forward, grabbing Ray’s shoulder and shoving him away with ferocity.
“Don’t listen to this stupid marshmallow. He’s so weak, he’ll never survive!” Saeran shouted, his aggressive voice booming with dominance. “But you’re just like him. Weak. Pathetic. Useless! You really think you’re a princess? Ahaha! Don’t make me laugh!”
“P-please don’t insult MC like that!” Ray begged. “But you’re right about me... I’m just a stupid airhead…”
Swallowing down her nerves, MC took another small step backwards. However, she suddenly gasped, feeling herself bump into someone.
“Hey. Watch it.”
She found herself face to face with another version of her beloved, this time clad in a leather jacket falling off his right shoulder. And on that shoulder was a bold tattoo of the Mint Eye logo.
MC swallowed, seeing his bad boy appearance with chains and chokers.
“S-Sae-?”
“Call me Unknown,” He replied, flipping his messy white bangs out of his eyes. “These idiots are giving you trouble, yeah? Why don’t you come with me, MC? I’ll take you to paradise,” He smirked, a devilishly flirtatious grin on his face.
“Ha! Paradise!?” Saeran exclaimed. “She’s nothing but a useless toy! She doesn’t deserve eternal paradise like the rest of us believers. I’d rather lock her up until I can find a better use for her.”
“Noooooooo!” Ray cried, suddenly grabbing onto MC’s arm and clinging to her. “Don’t touch MC! She’s delicate and fragile. Like a flower!” He shrieked. “The most beautiful flower in the world…”
As Ray clung to her arm, MC felt her heart skip a beat. Ray was a gentle boy riddled with anxiety. He saw MC as his angel, his goddess who was the first to ever look upon him fondly. Perhaps that was why he was so fixated on her, afraid he would lose her if he looked away for even a second.
Hearing his pathetic words made Saeran click his tongue in agitation.
“Stupid toy. Why don’t you do something about that smell of yours?” He insulted.
“My… what?” MC asked.
Saeran aggressively grabbed her arm, yanking her away from Ray and pinning her against the wall.
“Disgusting. You smell so gross, I feel like I’m about to be sick!” He gagged. “I hate that innocent look on your face and I hate that stupid sparkle in your eyes! Ugh! You’re worthless!”
Suit Saeran ran purely on adrenaline. He would berate and torture others to make himself feel strong. He chased that adrenaline rush like there was no tomorrow, seeking more and more power. And making MC cower before him made him feel the strongest of them all.
“You say you hate the way that she smells, but you’re lying,” Unknown chimed in with a smirk. “We all like her scent. Because we all like her.”
Unknown was crafty, smart, and awfully mischievous. He didn't glow with Ray's light, but he also didn't succumb to Saeran's darkness. He was a lone wolf, doomed to only know MC in another lifetime of which they could never be together.
“We all… like MC??” Ray echoed in embarrassment. “Is that what these emotions are? Just the idea of it is making me feel hot and dizzy…”
“I don’t like this stupid girl! She just drives me crazy!” Saeran insisted. “She’s completely unworthy of eternal paradise!”
“Not at all.” Unknown slid between them, putting a hand under MC’s chin and tilting her face upward. “I think she’s perfect. Quiet and obedient. Just how I like it,” He chuckled, playfully. “Maybe after this, I’ll have you all to myself. Maybe it’ll be incredible. What do you say, princess? Choose me and I’ll take you to paradise.”
MC couldn’t believe her eyes. Before her stood three different versions of the man she loved. The anxious and timid Ray, the aggressive and cruel Saeran, and the mysterious and seductive Unknown. Was it really true that all three of them were attracted to her?
They were all versions of her beloved, after all.
“I can’t choose just one of you!” MC exclaimed, pulling away from the chaos and speaking her heart. “Each one of you is a part of my Saeran! And I love every part of my Saeran!”
Three pairs of mint green eyes were piercing into her soul. Ray wanted to keep her all to himself and spend every day spoiling her. Saeran wanted to lock her up and treat her like property. And Unknown wanted to steal her away just to prove that he could.
“MC is mine. I saw her first,” Unknown growled. “You two better back off before I blow this entire place to shreds…” He pulled out a suspicious red button, his thumb hovering over it.
“You can never be together!” Saeran screamed. “Ughh… my head… my head feels like it’s going to explode. Stupid, useless toy! You spin my world into chaos!” He suddenly pulled out a gun, aiming it forward.
“Stop it! You’re scaring MC!” Ray cried. “MC is like a doll! If you play with her too roughly, you’ll break her. That’s why I’m going to treat her kindly. So she’ll never want to leave me…” He pulled out a bottle of the elixir, trembling fingers wrapped around it with panic.
They all had different personalities and different pasts that made them so distinct. But what they had in common was that strong soul, that heavy heart carrying so many emotions, and that unwavering determination.
And of course, a love for ice cream.
“Ice cream!” A familiar voice called, shaking MC by the shoulders. “It’s time to get ice cream! Wake up, MC. The ice cream truck is coming!”
“H…huh?”
Slowly blinking her eyes open, MC came to her senses. She found herself in her familiar bedroom in the home she lived with her beloved. She was surrounded by all her favorite things. And looming over her with a pure white shirt was none other than her favorite person.
“Saeran!” She cheered, wrapping her arms around him and pulling him into the bed.
“Ah! MC!” Saeran gasped, as he was pulled on top of her.
However, he didn’t complain. With a sweet smile, he wrapped his arms around her and returned the romantic cuddles.
“What’s gotten into you, my love? Were you having a good dream?” He laughed. “If so, I’m happy. You looked so peaceful, I almost felt bad waking you up,” He smiled. “But I’m glad you’re awake. Because now I can get lost in your beautiful eyes, princess.”
MC’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t resist leaning in to kiss him, melting into his warm embrace and showering him with love.
“Oh Saeran…” She sighed dreamily, cuddling into his chest. “I love you. I love every part of you!”
