Chapter 1: The trial and convinction of 007n7
Summary:
It all happens so quickly...
Notes:
Oh yeah, if anyone has any title suggestions let me know. Either something completely serious and completely cheesy, no in betweens lmao.
Chapter Text
There were many crimes laid before 007n7 that he was to take account for: theft, vandalism, destruction of property… All these he could recover from, all these he could return to normal life from.
The moment the words 'practising exploits' was read from his list of accused crimes, he knew the nail was in his coffin.
He could plead innocent- he'd willingly take the fall for the others- but he knew there was no point. The members of the court had made their decision about him, all from those two words, and no amount of pleading innocent could save him. He was an exploiter, they would not be convinced otherwise, and that was the end of that.
The sentencing was swift and brutal; for the crime of practising the prohibited art of exploiting, he was to be banished to Banlands, the domain that neighboured Roblox, never to return. 007n7 closed his eyes as the words left the judges' mouth, not wanting to risk tears falling from him in his lowest moment, not wanting to give the jeering court of moderators and admins the satisfaction.
Actually, scratch that. His sentencing was only going to be his second lowest moment. His true lowest moment was going to be having to then watch as his son got sentenced too.
C00lkidd had a string of equally pleasant crimes to account for: theft, vandalism, destruction of property, theft against the crown, vandalism against the crown, destruction of property of the crown… and of course, practising exploits.
He only plead innocent to the charge of theft against the crown, claiming that they never found this 'artifact' he supposedly stole from the castle vaults, so how could they prove he did it! Frankly, 007n7 thinks they're just pitting the blame for an unsolvable crime on his son. Regardless, they didn't believe him. They still gave him a guilty verdict on all counts.
The only relief 007n7 had as he watched his son's trial was knowing that, as a minor, C00lkidd was not to be banished to Banlands with him. Instead, he would be housed in a detention facility and 'rehabilitated' until he was seen fit to rejoin the Roblox society.
It was only once father and son were separated once more and 007n7 was returned alone to the cell he'd be sleeping in for his finally night in Roblox did he permit himself to cry.
007n7 hadn't slept a wink by the time sunlight was breaking over the horizon, the warm rays contradicting the cold dread that seeped through every fibre of his body.
Guards came to collect him not long after; dawn had barely broken and they were already hurrying to discard him like the trash they all believed him to be. Cuffed with chains that would prevent him from using magic, exploits or otherwise, he was pushed by the tips of spears into walking forwards.
As he was marched through the streets, many civilians came to gawk. Some simply watched in silence, others- particularly those who had been victims of his son's antics- booed and threw things at him: stones, mud, faeces, all of them found home on his skin and clothes. 007n7 simply chose to stare at the ground, unable to meet the eyes of the people around him.
The crowds thinned out as they neared the border; a great stone wall spanned the outermost rim of Roblox's domain, protecting the people from the horrors on the other side. Soon, 007n7 would be joining them.
The shackles and chains are removed, and 007n7 rubs his achy limbs as he continues to stare out of the massive gate before him. It is rarely ever open, but today it has been opened just for him.
"Dad!" A small familiar voice calls out to him from behind, prompting him to turn around.
As he does so, the small body of his son collides with his legs and tiny arms wrap around them tightly, as if letting go would result in him disappearing. In a way, that was actually true.
This was likely to be the last act of kindness that 007n7 ever experiences: the opportunity to say goodbye to his son.
"H-hey Kidd…" 007n7 says, barely above a whisper. He reaches down and wraps his arms around the back of his son's head, pulling him close.
"Don't go dad- don't leave me!" C00lkidd pleads, burying his little red face into the fabric of 007n7's pants. It's not enough to completely muffle the sobs of the boy, and 007n7 has to wonder just what the guards might have told him about the whole situation, if anything at all.
"I'm sorry… but I have to go…" 007n7 laments. He tries to gently pry himself away from his son- as much as he really does not want to- but C00lkidd refuses to budge, clinging ever tighter.
"Then- then- then I'm coming too!" C00lkidd screams defiantly, pulling only his face away from his father's legs so that he can look up at him with big, wet eyes.
"I'm sorry Kidd, but you can't."007n7 responds gently, hoping to put an end to the train of thought. The mere idea of C00lkidd going out to Banlands with him… No, he couldn't allow it.
"Yes I can! They can't make me leave you! I'm not going to!" C00lkidd continues, arms constricting his legs tighter than they ever have before.
"C00lkidd, you are not coming with me to Banlands." 007n7 states, with as much authority as he can muster. Yet C00lkidd refused to let go, he just shook his head as tears silently fell down his cheeks.
As 007n7 focused on trying to get his son to part from him, he barely processed the conversation that was happening around him.
"Urgh, this is taking too long!"
"The boy won't let go!"
"Can't we just kick them both into Banlands?"
"Dude, that's a literal child! We can't send him to Banlands! He'll die!"
"So? It's not like the king or queen are going to personally check that the kid reaches the detention facility. And the little shit would probably just re-offend when he's an adult anyway, he's an exploiter after all. We're saving ourselves the hassle."
"Let's do it."
"Excuse me?"
"What? Like he said, no one will notice. It's what the kid wants anyway."
"If you guys are doing this, I'm going on break now. I can't watch."
"Same."
"Suit yourselves."
Before 007n7 can even begin to question what is happening, both he and C00lkidd pass the threshold of the gate, and it is slammed shut behind the two of them.
No amount of screaming, no amount of protesting is enough to convince them to open the gate again. They've made up their minds, C00lkidd is to be the first ever child to be (unofficially) exiled to Banlands, law be damned.
"Keep walking, and if we see either of you turn back, we'll fire down on you, understood?" An unseen voice from atop the wall shouts down at the father and son duo, not even caring to look down upon the condemned duo.
Their fates have been sealed, all 007n7 can do now is take on of C00lkidd's small hands in one of his own and start the long walk forwards to a destination unknown.
Chapter 2: Into Banlands
Summary:
The father and son navigate a harsh and inhospitable land.
Chapter Text
007n7 and C00lkidd continue down the path before them, watching as road turns to dirt path, and then dirt path slowly fades until there isn't anything left but the wild land below their feet. The ground, once green and lively, was quickly turning red and harsh- what little plant life that persisted was caked in a thin layer of soot.
007n7 didn't have a destination in mind, but he knew there was two things he had to get the as soon as possible: water and shelter. He had checked inside his c00lgui inventory to see if he had anything to hand, but there was only random junk he had stolen and forgotten to clear out in it. No food, no drink. He could try hacking in something to drink and eat… but his power was limited, and there was only so long that that would hold both him and his son over.
Noli was probably laughing at him from wherever he was right now; he used to always say that they should keep a snack stash in the inventory at all times. Turns out he was right to think so.
"Dad?" C00lkidd calls up to him, prompting 007n7 to look down at his son. "When are we going to find a place to stay?"
"Ah, soon, hopefully…" It's the best that 007n7 can give him.
The admins and moderators keep information about Banlands under strict lock and key, so 007n7 knows sparingly little and can only go off what little he does know and what he can infers.
For instance, he highly doubts that there are any settlements here in Banlands, no civilians in the same sense that Roblox has civilians. By being banished to Banlands, he was not expected to settle down and start a new life, he was expected to die. That's also why they kicked him and C00lkidd out with nothing but the clothes on their backs, no opportunity to collect their belongings from their home. Dead people don't need belongings.
By some miracle, the two of them came upon a small stream of water trickling through the landscape. 007n7 was very cautious of it, but he couldn't afford to debate what kind of diseases it may carry. He drank from it, C00lkidd too after a little protest.
After collecting some water in makeshift containers, the father and son duo follow the stream upwards. 007n7 told C00lkidd it was because 'settlements are usually near sources of water' but in reality it was because they simply needed to find a place that was suitable to camp at near the only source of water they had been able to find.
As night fell, 007n7 was forced to try and construct a shelter for him and C00lkidd to rest in. Admittedly, he was not so sure how to go about that; he had rarely ever spent a day outside of the city, never had a need to learn how to build an impromptu shelter, so the effort was frustrating and painful. That tapestry he stole from the castle and just so happened to still have in his c00lgui inventory made for a fine cover (hey, he never got caught for stealing property of the crown) even if it was a terrible waste of the craftsmanship and beauty.
By the time the sun had risen once more, 007n7 hadn't slept a wink. He couldn't, not when he had to watch out for danger at all times. At least C00lkidd seemed to be able to get a bit of sleep in, as restless as it was.
The morning was spent searching for food. Finding the stream had been a bit of a blessing, so 007n7 wasn't very hopeful for their prospects of finding edible plant matter. They might need to try hunting for something to eat…
Their searches were interrupted by a commotion not too far away from them. The father and son went to investigate, quietly.
Undead. Zombies. Rotten. Whatever you wanted to call them. There was a small group of three of them attacking someone dressed similarly to 007n7: another exiled prisoner from Roblox.
Too dangerous to risk trying to save them- if they even deserved to be save- 007n7 and C00lkidd could only watch, hidden, at a safe distance as they were beaten down by the mindless dead. The victim of the rotten's assault fought, and fought, until they had no more energy left to give.
All too suddenly, they stopped. With the resistance by the exilee brought to an end, the undead halted their attack in favour of grabbing the beaten person and dragging them away slowly. Alive.
"Where are they taking them…?" C00lkidd whispers, staring up at his dad.
007n7 wished he had the faintest idea. That wasn't normal undead behaviour- at least by the standards that the Roblox education system taught people to think of undead.
"I don't know, and frankly I don't want to find out." 007n7 responds, pulling his son up and away from the scene. They had more pressing matters to tend to than speculating over the fate of some unknown criminal.
As days passed them by, 007n7 was starting to acknowledge how bleak their situation was getting.
He was exhausted, more so than he had ever been in his life, even when he was alone at home trying to settle a restless pill baby. Anything edible they found 007n7 insisted that C00lkidd ate; the claims that he is not that hungry are starting to be disbelieved, and soon enough he may actually have to take something for himself. On top of that, 007n7 has barely slept- if he even has at all- over the last few days. He just can't bring himself to try, not when doing so compromises what little safety his son has.
The depleting energy supply meant it was ever increasingly difficult to evade the rotten.
007n7's mastery of misdirecting and evasive exploits proved ever useful now more than ever as he employs then to distract or escape the undead. A clone to lead them astray, invisibility to conceal his and his son's location, teleporting a short distance away if they really get cornered… He's so far been able to getting caught out, keeping both himself and his son out of harms reach. A small blessing, really.
But even small blessings must come to an end.
Exhaustion led to lessened focus, lessened focus meant hostiles could slip closer than desires, which meant C00lkidd was in danger.
He was such a failure: as a man, as an exploiter, as a father… He couldn't save his son from being between down by the rotten. Every time he tried to inject a teleport into his son, the action was seen as defiance and he would be struck by another pained blow to his back, his c00lgui indicating the failure to execute his demand. Soon enough he couldn't even muster up the energy to even try.
'I'm so sorry, C00lkidd, that you had to have a miserable failure of a father such as me.' 007n7 thought to himself as by he and C00lkidd were pulled, beaten and bruised, to their feet before the undead forced them to start a long march forwards to a destination unknown.
Chapter 3: The second trial and conviction of 007n7
Summary:
How unfortunate for 007n7, that he must be sentenced to death not once but twice within a short time span.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
They walked, and walked, and walked some more with little indication as to where they were being marched to. The only thing that 007n7 had noticed was that the landscape had become more jagged and sharp, but that simply could be the geography of this land. They had still yet to even see a sign of civilisation, not that 007n7 had been expecting to see any.
007n7 could feel blisters beginning to form beneath his feet, the mindless rotten would not give the man reprieve from his suffering, not until they had reached their destination, wherever that may be…
Minutes soon turned to hours and the undead still dragged the father and son forwards. C00lkidd wasn't going to say anything, but 007n7 knee he was going to be just as tired, hungry and thirsty as he was. Unfortunately their captors were beyond begging for rest, the only thing they knee to do was to follow an unknown order.
When the ground began to smooth out, making walking ever so slightly easier, 007n7 turned his gaze downwards briefly.
'A path?' He thinks to himself, trodden not paved, but a path nonetheless. They now walk on a road walked frequently by life- well, most likely dead. So they do have a set destination that they will be reaching… and they may be reaching it very soon.
The winding path took them through narrow rock faces and ever further into the Banlands, but eventually all the jagged terrain parted like a veil to behold their destination.
And behold it 007n7 did.
The castle stood out like a sore thumb upon the backdrop of the landscape; dark stone monument reaching towards the heavens itself, 007n7 couldn't be sure that he could even see the top. A large moat of lava surrounded the entirety of the structure, as well as an imposing wall. Numerous banners hung from the walls of the castle, all adorned with a symbol that 007n7 had never seen before; as an educated guess, he was just going to assume that the symbol was the flag of Banlands.
The castle in itself wasn't what truly frightened 007n7, but the implications of it. The implication that the stories may in fact be true…
Very little information about Banlands is made available to the public, but everyone and their dog knee the tale of Telamon's death. The stories say that a malevolent monarch rules Banlands, one who's hate for Roblox knows no bounds nor does his evil. The ruler of Banlands, on the first day they stepped foot on Roblox, killed nearly a third of the whole kingdom's population, merciless and unyielding. This evil was so powerful that the god-king Telamon laid down his life to banish her from the land. Banish, the stories say, not kill.
The massive wall around Roblox is there for a reason, and 007n7 might son be coming face to face with that very reason.
As they were forced towards the structure, a small 'ouch' from C00lkidd draws his attention. 007n7 hadn't noticed how hard his grip on his son's shoulder had gotten; he eases it up, but still remains firmly holding onto him.
Crossing the bridge into the courtyard, 007n7 was surprised to see life amongst the dead. Most were hideous monsters, but some had features that could resemble that of a humans.
All eyes were on the father and son as they were marched through. Some looked on expressionlessly whilst others sneered and leered at them; what words were spoken fell onto deaf ears, which was probably for the best. 007n7 knee every word that fell out of their mouths would be less than pleasant.
Inside the castle itself, they were being marched ever upwards. The halls were a labyrinth of angular and twisting corridors, deliberately designed to disorientate any outsiders who happened to find their way here, which unfortunately was 007n7. Every flight of stairs was just as sharp and impossibly steep; at numerous points 007n7 had to practically lift C00lkidd up just so that he could climb it.
The near-endless flight of steps came to an end outside a massive pair of doors, ones that spanned much wider than all the simple doorways that came before them.
'Ah, so this is the end…' 007n7 bleakly thinks to himself as the rotten push open the doors, the heavy stone and wood groaning loudly and echoing down the corridor as they did. They were pushed through.
They were to have an audience for… this. There were various figures spanning the expanse of the great hall, all staring at 007n7 and C00lkidd as they were pushed along. 007n7 paid them little mind. He was more concerned with what- and who- was directly before him.
They were brought to a final stop a short distance before a small flight of stone steps. The light pouring in from a tremendous window at the back wall is obstructed by a fixture that blocks out some of the light and casts a great shadow across the overwise well lit room: a throne. It's quite simple, really, made from some sleek black mineral, sparsely decorated. Atop the throne sits the being known as the scourge of Roblox.
007n7 hadn't known what to expect of the evil 1x1x1x1, but nothing could have prepared him for this. From the skin as dark as the ashen landscape, to the alien translucent body, the feature that truly caught 007n7 in a fearful trance was those deep, crimson eyes which locked onto his own.
There's silence. C00lkidd's hand squeezes 007n7's own on as the boy shrinks behind his father's leg a bit, trying to hide from the gaze of the monarch.
"It seems I have guests." The evil queen states, edges of their mouth creeping upwards as he speaks. They lean to one side a little more, rest their cheek into a fist in an almost casual manner, but 007n7 is not going to allow himself to fall into even the slightest sense of false security.
A small chorus of snickers and whispers erupts across the room, but they quiet again barely a second after they started.
"I would welcome you to Banlands, but I'm afraid you won't be staying." 1x1x1x1 is to his feet abruptly, two swords- one for father and one for son- manifest within her hands as she swiftly descends the stone steps that led up to the throne. "I do so love watching the life leave their eyes, after all."
In a span of less than a week, 007n7 had found himself put on trial twice. This time, however, the king herself had deigned to be judge, jury and, most importantly, executioner.
"W-wait!" 007n7 cries out. He was fully prepared to beg- grovel even- for C00lkidd's life. He wouldn't even try to save himself, all he cared about was making sure his son survived this.
"Don't you hurt my dad!" Apparently C00lkidd had the same idea, but his was backed by a lot my confidence and defiance, brought on by childish naivety. He pushes himself in front of his dad, arms outstretched like a wall between his dad and his would-be killer.
"You dare speak out against me, child?" 1x1x1x1 snaps, footsteps halted for the moment, the blades of the swords hitting the ground with a heavy clang. "What could you possibly do to even begin to stop me from rending your fathers life from this plane?"
"I- I-…" C00lkidd had to think for a few seconds. Then his face lights up with renewed ambition. "I challenge you to a duel!"
"A duel?" 1x1x1x1 scoffs, almost offended by the notion of duelling with a child.
"Yeah! If I win, you have to let me and my dad go!" C00lkidd declares, pointing a thumb at his own chest proudly.
"C00lkidd-" 007n7 whispers out, trying to dissuade his son from doing this. There was no possible way for him to win a duel against them…
"-And tell me little boy, what weapon would you even fight me with in this duel? You seem to be lacking… armaments for a duel."
"Oh yeah!? Well I've got-" C00lkidd pulls up his own c00lgui and, with a little tongue sticking out as he rummaged through his inventory, pulled something out. "-This!"
C00lkidd almost loses balance when the dark red sword appears in his hands, stumbling slightly as he regains his footing. The sword is almost as big as he is! While an adult would be able to wield it single-highhandedly with ease, C00lkidd has to hold it in both of his own as he tries to desperately keep himself from dropping it.
"C00lkidd! Where did you get that!" 007n7 shouts at his son, parental instinct to scold his child kicking in at the most awkward time. But there was no mistaking that the sword that had just appeared in C00lkidd's hands was the legendary firebrand.
C00lkidd leans his head closer to his dad, a cheeky grin across his face.
"I stole it from the castle!" He whisper-shouts to his dad, still loud enough to be heard by most of the hall's occupants.
Ok, so perhaps those 'theft against the crown' charges C00lkidd had against him might have been a lot more legit than 007n7 was expecting.
"Hmph, so the child has some tricks up his sleeves? Very well…" With a click of their fingers, the rotten grabbed 007n7 and dragged him away from C00lkidd's side, in spite of his protests. He is unceremoniously dropped to the floor once more once they are by the wall, between two imposing figures who both stare down in disdain for a few moments before returning their attention to their ruler. "Throw every trick you have at me, if you want to save your precious father's life."
1x1x1x1's attitude to duelling the child had shifted so suddenly, and 007n7 couldn't understand why. There was nothing he could do, however, save from watch with bated breath and a racing heart.
C00lkidd tried to charge at them, to attack, but the heavy-handed swings failed to meet their target with each attempt; He'd nearly fall over after each one, the weight of the weapon he had brought to this fight working against him. The evil monarch sidestepping them with such ease.
After skirting yet another of C00lkidd's attacks, a heavy boot to the back sends the child flying across the hall, dropping his sword in front of him. C00lkidd quickly scrambles to pick it up again and get to his feet.
"Is that all you've got?" 1x1x1x1 goads, slowly stalking towards their opponent. "A sword and a simple parlour trick? Pathetic."
More sneering erupts across the room, and 007n7 wishes he was in a position were he could punch the nearest person clean in the jaw for finding joy at the expense of his son.
"Shut up!" C00lkidd shouts, a massive pout on his face.
If this evil person wanted more than 'simple parlour tricks' (whatever that meant), then C00lkidd could give her a lot more.
C00lkidd punches the ground, not out of frustration (though it does help) but so that he can force a code into it. Once done, two bots are formed and emerge.
Both of them stagger towards C00lkidd's opponent.
Both of them are so easily cut in two.
Not that C00lkidd had expected them to last too; bots always broke so easily. But the temporary distraction caused by them might give the child the slightest opening to-
"I'm it, I'm it, I'M IT!"
-Use his exploits to give himself a sudden burst of unpredictable speed. The walkspeed override was always great for getting himself out of trouble, and for catching people off guard at the best of times.
"Gotcha!" C00lkidd cries happily, finally able to make firebrand connect with his intended target.
"You insolent little-" 1x1x1x1 seethes, though he shakes off the burning with ease. The sentence isn't even finished before C00lkidd is hurling a brick he had manifested at 1x1x1x1. This one was dodged with ease, but the bricks are a bit slow.
"There's plenty more where that comes from!" C00lkidd declares, throwing brick after brick with much glee.
'No, there isn't…' 007n7 thinks to himself nervously. C00lkidd's expending way too much magic energy at once, he's going to exhaust himself too fast.
And he was right, soon enough C00lkidd finds himself unable to summon another brick even though he wanted more.
"Uh oh." C00lkidd says to himself.
With the relentless assault of bricks brought to a sudden stop, 1x1x1x1 is able to charge down C00lkidd in but a moment. A precise strike sends C00lkidd colliding face first with the ground once again, only this time the firebrand skids way too far away for C00lkidd to pick it back up.
C00lkidd struggles to get up onto his hands and knees, but all attempts to stand again is halted we a blade stabs into the ground, not even an inch away from his face. He can feel the malevolent energy of the weapon just oozing off of it, like the metal itself was desperate to end his life.
"You have guts child," The evil 1x1x1x1 states, staring down out his defeated opponent with gleeful satisfaction. "It would be a great pleasure to rip them out."
007n7 can't breathe, every breath keeps getting caught in his throat, unable to escape.
1x1x1x1 kneels down so that she is much closer to C00lkidd's face. The whimpering child scrunches his eyes closed as he waits for the inevitable end. Their demeanour has shifted once again, he almost seems… softer, less malicious, even if the evil never leaves her eyes.
"Exploiting is a powerful magic that few can even begin to attempt to wield… yet you can. And at such a young age… pray tell me, where did you learn to wield such power?" 1x1x1x1 asks, voice low, commanding respect and honesty.
C00lkidd continues to sob to himself quietly for a few seconds longer. After a loud sniffle, and a rub across his nose, he raises an arm upwards and points a single, shaking finger towards 007n7.
"M-m-my dad." C00lkidd confesses quietly.
As soon as the words left C00lkidd's mouth, all eyes in the hall were on him; 007n7 flinches sharply under the sudden scrutiny he was receiving, especially the hard glare of the monarch kneeling by his son.
"You…" 1x1x1x1 drawls out, voice laced with venom. They slowly straighten out his posture until she is standing once more. "…Are an exploiter?"
"I…" 007n7 begins, words falling short in his throat. He has to gulp down his nerves before he can begin to continue. For but a couple of seconds he brings up his own c00lgui, the proof of his powers, before quickly dismissing it again. "…Yes?"
"Hmph." The monarch grunts.
The room stands in complete silence, everyone waiting for the ruler of Banlands to make their verdict. By all accounts, 007n7 and C00lkidd should be dead…
The swords in 1x1x1x1's hands disappear as they stride over to where the firebrand has fallen, picking up the sword with much ease compared to C00lkidd. With it comfortably flung over her shoulder, 1x1x1x1 returns to C00lkidd's side.
He bends down and, with a rough hand, yanks the child to his feet, never letting go of C00lkidd's shoulder. 1x1x1x1 continues to look over C00lkidd for a few more seconds before they finally speak again.
"I will be keeping the child. I could make use of a squire to train." His head only turns slightly in the direction of 007n7. "I suppose I might as well make use of the father too. Bring him." With that, 1x1x1x1 begins to march out of the hall, C00lkidd dragged along by the shoulder.
Before 007n7 can make any form of vocal protest, a hand grabs him by the arm and begins to push him forwards; a masked soldier silently obeying the order of the king as now he and 007n7 both follow after 1x1x1x1 and C00lkidd.
The four navigate the winding corridors of the castle quickly, led by the Banland's queen. The pace is fast, and both 007n7 and C00lkidd stumble a bit as their respective captors force them along.
There's a sudden stop by a flight of stairs heading downwards as 1x1x1x1 turns to address the masked soldier.
"Find that one a home in the servants quarter." 1x1x1x1 orders, turning to continue down the corridor with C00lkidd. The masked man simply nods and drags 007n7 down the stairs.
"No! Dad! Dad!" C00lkidd screams after his father as the two are parted, his voice echoing through the stone corridors. He smacks angrily at 1x1x1x1's arm, trying to break free, but the monarch pays the pathetic attempt little heed as they continue to walk.
"No! C00lkidd! No- I love you- please! Be ok!" 007n7 shouts back, trying to wrestle with the masked man for a precious few more seconds to speak to his son. He is given no more than he got.
007n7 could barely focus the rest of the journey, barely even noticing when they reached the undercroft of the castle. His mind was plague by worry, none of which was for himself.
He only came back to reality when he finds his arm free of a restrained, and a large door is shut and locked behind him.
The room, whilst much bigger than the prison cells back in Roblox, was still just as much one. Barely any furnishings besides a table with a single chair and a bed.
007n7 is completely numb as he sluggishly makes his way over to the bed, slowly setting himself down on top.
Head falling into his hands, he finally permits himself to slowly weep away.
Notes:
Hey chat, we here again. The brain worms actually did more world building that are completely irrelevant to the plot of this thing so here we go again.
The story of Telamon that 007n7 knows is mostly a lie.
In reality, Telamon cast a spell on himself to try and remove all the hate, malice and negativity from his body but it went awry. All that energy coalesced into the form of 1x1x1x1. The whole 'killed a third of the population' is true, but Telamon didn't die banishing 1x1x1x1. Instead he felt so much guilt over this incident that he framed his death, but he was too prideful to leave the throne so he just lives on as each of his 'descendants' with Shedletsky being his newest alias.
Also, Telamon changed the story of 1x1x1x1's creation, telling people that rogue mages (exploiters, to be exact) attack him with the spell which resulted in 1x1x1x1's summoning, hence why Roblox fucking hates exploits in the present day. They used to outlaw all forms of magic, but advocacy has led to all but exploits being permitted, but many still frown upon magic in general. There was never a 'young' 1x1x1x1, and Telamon/Shedletsky and 1x1x1x1 are to be considered mostly unrelated (aside from 1x1x1x1 being the energy from their hate given form).
Shedletsky is a very hands off ruler, which is 50% because of laziness, and 50% because he wants the people to have more control of their fates.
Dusekkar is actually the first ever mage to be on the council of admins/moderators, and is the biggest advocator for magic. He still hates exploits with a passion though.
Elliot's family are bakers, they have however very recently invented pizzas. Elliot is also a mage who specialises in healing magic and is trying to find a way to imbue food with healing magic to make medicine easier for people to swallow, literally. Shedletsky is actually funding his studies because he really, really wants to be able to heal through eating chicken lmao.
118o8, 007n7 and Noli all lived on the same street and were pretty good friends. 118o8 was actually the one who got them all into exploiting when she found (and stole) a book about exploits from a bookshop. Hence why 118o8 and 007n7 have very similar skills to each other.
The book in question was written by 226w6, who was an exploiter known for advocating that exploits could be used for good. They dead now, that's how their exploit notes ended up at a shop.
118o8 has never been caught using exploits.Adding to what I said about Noli in my other fic, 1x1x1x1 could 100% properly heal Noli's body, but chooses not to. Providing Noli with only a temporary solution means that he is dependent on 1x1x1x1, and therefore much less likely to betray them.
The first time 1x1x1x1 'fixed' Noli, he didn't tell him it was only temporary, so when Noli's body began to destabalise again, they'd be panicked and come running to 1x1x1x1 for help. 1x1x1x1 fixes them again like "Guess my fix is only temporary, so that means you have to keep coming back to me to stop your body shattering again."
This acts as a way to both enforce Noli's dependence on her, and given them a taste of what would happen to him if he ever dared to cross 1x1x1x1. Noli's having a great time in Banlands, trust :)
Chapter 4: The first day of the rest of your lives
Summary:
007n7 and C00lkidd are both thrown into their new lives.
Notes:
Yeah I think I will go with titling this Bonding in banishment, for now, idk but that was my favourite suggestion so far.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
It could be considered nothing short of a miracle that 007n7 had actually been able to get any sleep in the night before, as restless at it had been. He was loathed to even up his eyes as his consciousness returned to him, not wanting to face the empty room that he was going to be calling home for the foreseeable future.
He was going to miss being woken up by C00lkidd jumping on him, full of energy despite the early hour.
007n7 was forced to sit himself up in bed when he heard the telltale click of the lock of his door being unlocked. The door opened for but a moment, but in that moment two things were slid into his room before the door was slammed shut: a bundle of clothes and a tray with food and a cup of water on top. The door was not locked again, but the absence of footsteps would imply that whoever slid the stuff in was still outside, perhaps waiting for him to eat, drink and change.
If 007n7 was a stronger willed, more defiant man, he might have considered rejecting the things that had been brought to him. But he is not. What 007n7 is is a hungry, tired man who would take anything presented to him at this point. The food may be slop, but it is edible slop so he can't really complain.
After washing said slop down with water, 007n7 very begrudgingly began to change into the clothes that had been provided for him. It was a beige shirt and beige pants, made from basic fibres; something that fits the uniform of a servant. Because that is what he is to be now, a servant in the Banlands castle.
In spite of the bland coloured clothes that were to be his uniform, 007n7 refused to not wear his hat. It was too deeply important for him and he hadn't not worn it in so, so long; besides, C00lkidd loved it.
007n7 slowly and cautiously opens the door. Outside a masked soldier (perhaps the same one that brought him to this room the other day, but 007n7 has no way to be certain) stands there, waiting. The two of them stare at each other in silence for a few seconds, with neither moving a muscle since their eyes locked.
Finally, the masked soldier grabs 007n7 and pulls him out the room. The grip is tight, and painful, but he does not make any vocal protest. He has no idea how unpredictable the inhabitants of this accursed land could possibly be…
He is steadily marched through the hallways of the castle, heading towards an unknown destination. 007n7 tries to make note of the corridors, get a lay of the structure, but there are so few defining features of this place- hardly a hint of extravagance in comparison to the Roblox castle- that it is all but useless.
The soldier stops him in front of a wooden door and gives it three, firm hits.
"What!?" An angry voice shouts from within; it is new to 007n7.
The door is shortly thereafter flung open, colliding loudly with the stone walls, the sound booming across the corridors; 007n7 winces a little.
The man who stands in the doorway, by all accounts, is an undead; the ashen skin would be the first indicator of that. But with his purple eyes and a zipper shaped mouth, along with four black slimy tentacles on their back, they do not resemble any of the other rotten that wander Banlands. He can also talk, something that none of the others can do.
"Oh. It's you." The talkative rotten says, glaring over at 007n7. His arm reaches over quickly as they snatch 007n7 away from the soldier and drags him into the room. "Wait here until I'm done." He orders the masked man before slamming the door on him again.
The room is an assault on the senses; the wide array of plants growing in here all but suffocated 007n7 with their putrid fragrances. The rotten, unsurprisingly, seemed unfazed.
"Sit." They say, shoving 007n7 into a small, wooden chair before marking over to a cabinet across the room, flinging it open and rummaging through the many vials inside.
"W-who are you? What's going on?" 007n7 asks, eyes darting around the room. His focus only returns to the undead man when he returns to standing in front of where 007n7 was sitting, dropping a load of vials down on the table next to him.
"I am Azure, alchemist here in Banlands, and the closest thing you'll ever be getting to a medic." Azure turns away from 007n7 and towards the table. They begin to fiddle with the alchemical equipment, mixing a few of the concoctions together, as well as sprinkling in a few leaves of unknown origin, at least to 007n7. Azure turns back to him with the finished product. "Drink." He demands, handing the small vial over to 007n7.
"What is-?"
"I said drink." Azure snaps.
007n7 does so immediately. If Azure's words were to be believed (and given the state of Banlands, 007n7 very much believed them), then it would be unwise to piss off further the only person in the whole Banlands who could potentially save you if you got injured.
It tasted absolutely foul. 007n7's face twists and contorts as he has to force the liquid down his throat without spitting it back out. The taste lingers and refuses to go.
"Good. At least you can take your medicine without spitting it, unlike that brat who was here earlier."
There were no children in Banlands, so that could only mean-
"C00lkidd? Is he ok? What was he doing here?" 007n7 is quick to rapid fire his questions, nearly jumping out of his seat.
"Oh. Right. I should have guessed you two were related. Her majesty brought him here for his medicine, and then they left, after your little brat spit multiple doses across my floor." Azure grumbles as they dumped the dirty vials into some sort of basin, likely to be cleaned at a later time. "I should have remembered you were coming. Aren't you going to be a cleaner, after all?" Azure asks snidely, glancing over at him from the corner of his eye.
"But why do we need medicine?" 007n7 asks cautiously. Hopefully there is nothing wrong with his son…
"Well we don't know what kind of diseases you two are carrying, do we!" Azure exclaims, a slight hint of annoyance in their voice. "Our living residents might not be too pleased if the two of you made them sick, and then I wouldn't be too pleased if I had half the castle coming here to be treated because the two of you were out spreading who-knows-what!"
"Oh… right…" 007n7 mumbles in response.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have more work to do." Azure walks over to the door and opens it, making a grand sweeping gesture to indicate that they want 007n7 to leave. The masked soldier is still standing on the other side, likely having not moved the entire time 007n7 was in here. "And I'm expecting you do too."
007n7 would have liked to ask more about his son, but he suspects Azure either knows little, or won't be willing to talk. 007n7 silently stands up and makes his way over to the door; he's barely even exited the room before the door is slammed shut once more, hitting his back a little hard.
The masked soldier, as always, remains silently; they grab him by the arm and begin to walk him to elsewhere in the castle.
He's not walking for too long- definitely not longer than yesterday, when he was brought all the way down to the undercroft from the throne room- when the masked soldier stops by a small wooden door. They open it and shove 007n7 inside.
The room was simple in furnishings, most of which were just storage crates. It was, however, exceptionally dusty, and 007n7 had to fight not to start coughing his lungs out; with this much dust caking everything, no one must have come in here for a long time.
007n7's silent inspection of the room is interrupted when some items are abruptly shoved into his hands by another soldier-looking person that he hadn't noticed approaching: a broom and a duster. They also drop a small bucket next to the door, before leaving with a small grunt. It is once again just him and his masked chaperone.
'Right,' 007n7 thinks to himself. 'Didn't that Azure person say I was to be a cleaner or something?' And by the lack of other people dressed in servants uniform around, he might be cleaning this place by himself.
A blade point is jabbed lightly into his back; an unspoken demand for 007n7 to get to work. He's not going to loiter any further, that would simply be unwise. He grabs the broom and sets to work.
I must have taken hours, but he eventually gets it done. Muscles aching, all he wants to do is collapse in the nearest chair and take a rest.
That was never going to happen.
The moment the room looks cleaned to a satisfying degree, the soldier just drags him away to another similarly dusty room. The unspoken implication remains that he is expected to clean this one too.
He doesn't even hide the groan he lets out when he picks up his equipment and starts all over again. 007n7 is at least thankful that his guard is silent, because if they had been much more talkative he damn well knows they would be mocking him right now.
Some time into the cleaning of the second room, the door opened. Another masked soldier passes the one watching him something before leaving.
007n7's guard holds his hand in the air before 007n7, gesturing for him to stop.
"What?" 007n7 asks, even though he knows that they would never speak a word back to him.
The masked soldier walks over to a freshly dusted off table and sets some things down on it: another bowl of slop and some water.
Oh. This must be 007n7's lunch- or dinner, he's not quite sure how much time has passed, but he'll just assumed it is his lunch.
Much like the morning, he's not going to fight when it comes to accepting food and water from these people. This meal also has the added bonus that he can sit down on a chair for the duration of his consumption, giving his limbs the rest that they so crave right now.
It doesn't last as long as he would have liked; shortly after he has finished eating his slop and drinking the water, the masked soldier takes the dishes away from him, dropping them in the corridor before standing by the door once more, as they had been doing so the past two rooms. It was time for 007n7 to get back to work.
He was all but certain no one intended to use these rooms for anything, and that this task was put upon him for the sole purpose of breaking his spirit.
He nearly did break, and so quickly too.
He had barely begun working on the third room and his limbs felt like they were going to snap away from his body. He couldn't do this much longer.
But as they say: work smarter, not harder.
"Ah, fuck this." 007n7 mumbles to himself as he taps into his exploits to create a clone of himself.
The masked soldier stands alert the moment it appears, a hand on the handle of his sword.
"I'm not doing anything nefarious." 007n7 quietly scoffs, making a pointedly grand gesture of shoving the broom he had been using into the clones hands.
The masked soldier continues to eye the clone wearily, even after it starts sweeping the floor. After about a minute or so, they finally relax a little, returning to their neutral stance.
Meanwhile, 007n7 quickly dusts off a chair and sits down, stretching out his legs as he does. The job could be done twice as fast if he worked alongside his clone, but that can be saved for the future. As of right now, he just needs to rest for a bit.
Once the clone has finished cleaning, it places the equipment it was using down on the table before collapsing into code once more.
There were a few more rooms to do that day, but 007n7 deferred the rest of those jobs to his clone so that he could take it easy.
All too soon, he is back in the tiny room that he is supposed to call home. There's more slop and water waiting for him too.
So that was that, the first day of the rest of his life. A servant in the Banlands castle, expected to clean and show total obedience. That is what they want of him, what they expect him to do.
Well, quite frankly, as someone who practised exploiters despite Roblox outlawing that kind of magic, 007n7 was never one for blind obedience. His resolve hardened, he silently swears to himself that he'll find a way to get himself and his son out of this place.
C00lkidd's night had been restless. The bed he had been given was huge! And really comfy! But… it was missing something. Something very important.
His dad sat beside him, reading him a bedtime story.
For the first hour, he still held onto hope that his dad would come walking through the door, book in hand and a smile on his face. When that didn't happen, he just had to get creative with trying to get himself to fall asleep. Usually he doesn't want to, but after the day he had had, staying awake was the thing he didn't want.
C00lkidd was awoken by the sound of the door to his room opening; he didn't see who it was, too bleary-eyed to make them out, but he knows it was not his dad. They left some stuff on a table in his room before promptly leaving.
Once the sleep was rubbed from his eyes, he quietly hops out of bed to see what he had been given.
There's a tray with some water and a plate full of food (quite a bit of meat, C00lkidd notices, as well as vegetables…), as well as a pile of clothes folded neatly next to the tray.
C00lkidd demolishes the food, he doesn't care if it is a bit bland or that the vegetables were disgusting; he was hungry, and if there was one lesson his dad always taught him, it was that they could not afford to waste food.
Belly filled, C00lkidd climbed back into the massive bed and closed his eyes once more.
"What are you doing still asleep?" A voice snaps through the haze in C00lkidd's mind, forcing him back awake. It sounds familiar, but C00lkidd is too sleepy to care.
"I'm tired…" He mumbles, wrapping his arms around the pillow, hoping to sink further into sleep.
"Shame." The voice responds, without a single ounce of care in them. In the next moment, the blanket is forcibly ripped away from C00lkidd's body, leaving him exposed to the air uncomfortably. "Why haven't you gotten dressed yet!?" They seem angrier now.
C00lkidd finally rolls over to look at the person who had been speaking to him.
Oh. It's that mean queen.
"I don't wanna." C00lkidd states, folding his arms across his chest, glaring at 1x1x1x1 across the room.
"I don't care. Get changed." 1x1x1x1 demands, arms too folded across its chest, staring daggers down at the child.
"No. You can't make me." C00lkidd retorts.
"Hmph." 1x1x1x1 abruptly turns back to the door and leaves the room. Any victorious feeling C00lkidd might have had is immediately snuffed out when he hears them shout "Get the boy dressed. Now." Two masked soldiers enter the room.
1x1x1x1 stands irritably in the corridor, leaning against a wall. He doesn't look into the room again, but by the yelling, screaming and sounds of punches and kicks being thrown, the child is putting up a lot of fight. That was to be expected, she did pick the child as a squire for his ability to fight, after all.
Eventually, inevitably, the masked soldiers emerge from the room, shortly followed by C00lkidd, now dressed proper, adorned with the biggest scowl across his face. The clothes are way too big for C00lkidd, with a lot of it being bunched up or dragging across the floor, but it is not like there has ever been a reason for Banlands to have child sized clothing around.
1x1x1x1 would need to find someone who could rectify that.
"Good." 1x1x1x1 states, dismissing the soldiers with a wave. They both bow before leaving.
1x1x1x1 snatches C00lkidd's arm and begins to drag him down the corridor.
"I hate you." C00lkidd spits out, struggling to wrestle himself free from 1x1x1x1's firm grasp. It remains unyielding.
She ignores him, and simply continues walking.
When they arrive at their destination, 1x1x1x1 gives the wooden door a few hard hits. He could just enter of their own volition, but the one on the other side actually deserved some level of respect, unlike most inside this castle.
"Who the fuck is knocking on my door at the ass-crack of dawn!?" An angry voice shouts from the other side. C00lkidd's head cocks to one side, listening to the heavy stomps as whoever was in there makes their way moodily to the door.
The small door swings open, revealing a very irritated (and strange looking) undead. They visibly calm a fair amount when they realise who is at their door.
"Oh. Your majesty. My apologise, I didn't know it was you." The undead remarks, giving the king a small bow. They suddenly take notice of C00lkidd. "Is that a fucking child!?" They shout.
"Azure," 1x1x1x1 responds calmly. "This child is to be my squire."
"Ok." Azure replies with much disinterest. "Where did they come from?"
"Roblox." 1x1x1x1 replies.
"I didn't think they exiled children… Ah well, not surprised they changed their minds on that."Azure remarks with a small scoff.
"I want you to treat him." 1x1x1x1 states.
"Is he sick?" Azure asks, purple eyes looking C00lkidd up and down. C00lkidd pulls a face at Azure, which makes them scowl out him harder.
"Not visibly, but we should treat him as a precaution."
"Hmm, sure, sure, the other living residents probably don't want to catch diseases." Azure replies as he turns away from 1x1x1x1 before briskly marching across the room.
"I don't have diseases." C00lkidd huffs out, crossing his arms moodily.
"Sure you don't little buddy," Azure returns from their cupboard with a vial filled with a strange liquid. "Now drink up."
Azure presses the vial up to C00lkidd's mouth. The moment the potion starts to slip into his mouth, and he tastes just how vile it is, C00lkidd all but projectile spits that stuff right onto Azure's front.
"Bleugh!" C00lkidd exclaims, spitting nonstop in an attempt to get the taste off his tongue.
"You… insolent… little brat!" Azure seethes, flinging the now empty vial across the room (it just so happens to land in the washbasin, unless that was actually planned). "You dare waste my potions!?"
"It's disgusting." C00lkidd protests, still spitting onto the floor.
"Medicine always is." Azure retorts as he retrieves another vial from the cupboard before swiftly returning. A look of disgust briefly flashes on his face as he notices all the slobber across the floor, which he'll need to clean later. "Drink."
Azure attempts to force the second vial down C00lkidd's throat. This vial doesn't fair any better than the first one, ending up on Azure's front as well. They let out a stream of colourful words as they march over to the cupboard once again, grabbing the last vial of the medicine that they had; he was going to have to make some more later because of this…
"Don't be afraid to restrain the boy if he continues his disobedience, Azure." 1x1x1x1 remarks from across the room, face devoid of any expression.
Azure leans in closer to C00lkidd this time; a tentacle wraps around his wrists so that he can not attempt to push him away (though he does wiggle angrily in Azure's grasps, shouting to be let go, which Azure ignores).
"Now listen here you little shit," Azure says lowly, close to C00lkidd's ear. "Either you drink this one like a good little boy, or I'll bring you a lovely, little flower, one that'll have every muscle in your body frozen so you can't move. Would you like that?" C00lkidd shakes his head violently. "Good. Then drink up."
This time, C00lkidd (through much effort) swallowed down the potion that he had been given. Gods, did he have to fight the urge to just throw up across the floor; whatever Azure had given him really didn't want to sit in his stomach.
Azure, feeling a little merciful at least, was nice enough to give him a glass of water of which he could wash the potion down with. C00lkidd accepted it with much enthusiasm.
"Finally." 1x1x1x1 says, approaching C00lkidd and grabbing him by the shoulder. "There'll be another one- older- later for you to treat."
"Oh goodie…" Azure remarks, focused less on what 1x1x1x1 had said and more on all the mess he had to clean up now.
With that finally out the way, 1x1x1x1 dragged C00lkidd out the room to elsewhere in the castle,
Whilst C00lkidd was not expected to be a servant like his father was, he was to face an equally as body-destroying task.
He was expected to be a squire, trained by the monarch themselves. C00lkidd's grasp on what that meant was little, but he was soon to find out.
The two of them entered a training hall, and it is here that C00lkidd is finally released from 1x1x1x1's hold once more. He would make a break for the door, but a masked soldier slams it shut behind the two of them, leaving him alone in this hall with the mean queen.
1x1x1x1 strides over to a rack with training weapons hanging off of it, picking up a small wooden sword. He wordlessly tosses it in C00lkidd's direction, and he is very fortunate to actually catch it.
"Come forwards." 1x1x1x1 calls to C00lkidd.
"What's this? Where's my sword?" C00lkidd asks. He does shuffle closer to the evil king as he does.
"If you speak of the firebrand, that isn't your sword now is it." 1x1x1x1 returns, staring down at the boy.
"I stole it from the castle. It's mine." C00lkidd grumbles, still loud enough for 1x1x1x1 to hear, and refuses to make eye contact.
"And you can barely wield the thing. Perhaps when you are older- stronger- I shall return it to you." 1x1x1x1 explains with a slight sneer.
"But-"
"-Silence." C00lkidd shuts his mouth immediately, but he continues to pout. "Your training begins now."
And by 'training' C00lkidd could only imagine that what 1x1x1x1 had actually meant to say was 'beating'. While it was obvious that they were not attacking with the strength and furiosity they would employ in an actual battle, she by no means took it easy on C00lkidd. He found himself being knocked to the floor constantly, whether it be by a sharp hit from 1x1x1x1's own training weapon or the rare instance that C00lkidd had actually been able to react fast enough to block a body blow with his own wooden sword (C00lkidd could also argue that his trouser legs were way to long and it made it difficult to get go footing).
The one break that C00lkidd got was when a soldier came by to bring them both food and drink. Of course, C00lkidd crunched up his nose at the similarly nutritious meal to the one he had for breakfast, but he still ate it, albeit with a few grumbles about how yucky it was.
Well, at least it looked better than whatever 1x1x1x1 was eating. He was eating what looked like bits of fruit, but they were all brown and dried out. How gross.
And once they were both done, it was right back too it; a gruelling workout to push C00lkidd forwards.
By the time night had fallen, C00lkidd looked like he had just emerged from a war zone- he might as well have with all the mock fighting he had been forced to endure. He was hurt, tired and just wanted two things: his bed and his dad.
"Hmph, that will be enough for today." 1x1x1x1 declares, having knocked C00lkidd to the ground once again. At least C00lkidd had been able to block again with that one. "I shall return you to your room."
1x1x1x1 steps over to C00lkidd as he slowly (and wobbly) gets to his feet. Even with the hit being blocked, falling onto his already bruised back hurt like hell.
"I- I want my dad!" C00lkidd exclaims through huffing, exhausted breaths. He still has tears in the corners of his eyes, but he refuses to cry here.
"No." 1x1x1x1 replies coldly, grabbing C00lkidd's arm and pulling him away.
"I want him!" C00lkidd protests. Whilst he doesn't try to attack the arm holding him or wriggle away, he does dig his heels into the ground as hard as he can.
1x1x1x1 lets out a low growl of frustration.
"Perhaps if you are good, I will permit you to see him someday." That is the only leeway that C00lkidd is offered; it is not what he wants, but C00lkidd begrudgingly acknowledges that it is the best he is going to get.
C00lkidd remains silent the rest of the walk back to his room, plodding along behind 1x1x1x1.
As much as C00lkidd doesn't like being alone, part of him is glad to be by himself when he is returned to his room. No more masked soldiers or evil king.
If he was at home, he'd be playing with his toys until his dad came to put him to bed. But he doesn't have any toys to play with, nor is his dad here to put him to bed.
As C00lkidd climbs into the big bed and tucks himself into it, he envisions that it was actually his dad tucking him in. Much like the night before, he also tries to recall the plot of a story his dad read to him, so that he may try to pretend that his dad really is sat besides his bed, reading it to him right now.
Notes:
Anyway, sad chapter I guess, so lets whiplash it with more useless world lore: Chance edition!
Chance is a soldier in the Roblox royal army and is the best sharpshooter they have, specialising in a crossbow.
Chance has a 'conspiracy theory' that king Shedletsky (and all the Telamon descendants tbh) are actually Telamon himself.
Chance, to a fellow soldier as they pass the hall with all the portraits of the past rulers: So, you ever look at the picture of the 'son' of Telamon and think they look exactly the same?
Soldier: Not this again, Chance.
Chance: I'm serious! Exact match!
Soldier: Telamon was a god.
Chance: Oh, so Telamon's godly genetics are so powerful that the supposed person he had an affair with gave NOTHING in the genetics?
Soldier: Yes.
Chance: And that as the line of Telamon goes down, all the other parents didn't really give anything to their children???
Soldier: Who are we to know how divinity works.
Chance: Ok. We may not know how divinity works... but if I know how one thing works, it's probabilities! So tell me then, why are all the firstborn descendants of Telamon men! You telling me after all these years, not one of them came out feminine???
Soldier: *Shrugging* Always a possibility.
Chance, clearly exasperated: Unbelievable.Shedletsky knows of Chance's 'conspiracy theory'.
Shedletsky would probably actually tell Chance eventually.
Calls him into his study and everyone thinks Chance is in trouble.Shedletsky: So, Chance, I hear you've been telling everyone that I am Telamon?
Chance: Uhm, yes, your majesty...
Shedletsky: I see... Well you would be correct.
Chance: Excuse me?
Shedletsky: I am Telamon. I framed my death all those years ago and have been living on as my descendants this entire time.
Chance: Oh my god.
Shedletsky: Yes, I'm right here.
Chance: ...
Chance: But... Why are you telling me this.
Shedletsky, laying a hand down on Chance's shoulder: Because... no one... will ever believe you.
Chance: You sick son of a bitch. It's also probably nice for Shedletsky to have someone other than Brighteyes (because all of Telamon's spouses are made aware) who he can talk to about Telamon stuff.
Shedletsky and Brighteyes both tease/bully Chance with the information though. They'll see him sat on a bench, having his lunch and both slide up to him like 'oh Chancey!!! Your god is here!!!' Meanwhile Chance is just sat there with the biggest scowl like wishing his past self just shut up about it.
Shedletsky hides some of his more divine/bird-like features (wings) from public eyes, so they're very stiff often. He used to only have Brighteyes who could massage them for him... Now he has Chance!!!
Chance gets a pay rise for his troubles at the very least.
