Work Text:
Rhodey sighed when he opened the room to his and Tony’s dorm. He wasn’t surprised by the sight of Stephen and Tony cuddling on Tony’s bed, each with their nose buried in a book, but damn he wanted what they had. He settled into the chair by his desk, pulling out his own textbook, and got started on his classwork.
Rhodey’s back ached from hunching over the paper, writing and rewriting and erasing and drawing all over the page as he tried to make the theory work. . .
His attention was torn away by two loud thumps, one sounding right after the other. He looked up to see that Tony and Stephen had both closed their textbooks and were grinning at each other. Tony, shaking with energy, spoke first. “You finish your textbook?”
Stephen was stiller than Tony, but no less happy. “Yup! You finish yours?”
“Of course. Switch?”
Stephen nodded. “Switch.”
Both of them took a deep breath in, and bellowed. “SWITCH!” If Rhodey hadn’t already been distracted, that would have definitely jolted him out of focus. The two lovebirds rolled into different positions and grabbed each other’s textbooks. On the count of three, they let go of their first textbook, and Tony had his nose in Stephen’s medical textbook while Stephen was reading Tony’s mechanical engineering textbook.
