Chapter Text
When George first started visiting sapnap they were inseparable, you could never see them apart aside from all the usual bickering they do. (Which is a lot)
But there are things that go unnoticed in this mutual standing, things such as ‘do you have a roommate of any sort?’ And ‘is your roommate completely normal and not at all a cat or anything as such?’ Didn’t seem to cross saps mind as it seems.
Apparently when someone says; ‘my roommate scratches everything of mine up’ doesn’t usually mean that they have claws per say, George thinks.
Now he’s reminded of that one realistic cat-in-the-hat live action film that was terrifying to him, gods above please don’t make him look anything like that.
“You can’t just say your roommates a cat, what if I take it as like, I might, I don’t know, actually think that he’s part-cat or something.”
George says with a sarcastic tone. It’s insane, Sapnap would never-Ever keep George in the dark about something so ridiculous.
“That’s because I’m not lying. He’s literally a cat.”
Sapnap questioned back.
Ok, this is a little weird now. Maybe saps just saying that he has a pet cat? But then how is the said cat beating him in Mario kart.
The key turns in the lock as they both stand in front of the apartment door. George is practically shaking with anticipation at the thought of seeing the cat in question, he can’t help but say that he adores cats, to the point that he practically kicks his feet at the sight of them.
As the janky door opens up to the apartment George doesn’t waste any time at all and immediately bolts through the door as soon as it opens up.
“Kitty!, kitty!” George try’s to lure the cat out by making a ‘pspspsps’ sound with his mouth.
Thats when he spots it, or to be more specific, him.
A large furry-… thing, appears to be inhabiting the couch, it seems to be asleep as it’s laying on its stomach and letting its arms hang off of the couch in such manner.
George thinks it looks more of an anime character that’s said to be a cat hybrid than anything, not that he’s complaining or anything, he’s just happy there’s a massive cat laying infront of him.
The strange thing has a rather large tail and a set of tufted ears on its head, with the addition of a set of small indents on its fingers indicating that it had claws at one point.(which have probably been cut down due to him scratching up Sapnaps belongings one to many times.)
He’s absolutely adorable, George thinks he might have that one emotion that people feel when something is too cute.
Cute aggression or whatever it’s called.
George takes a second before scrambling over to the being excitedly and starts to speak even more ridiculous cat noises all the while petting at his ears and remarking how soft they are
“He has a name other than ‘kitty’ you know?”
Sapnap shoots from somewhere behind him.
“Awww it’s the kittyyy”
“Be careful he might not have claws anymore but he will scratch the shit out of you.”
Sapnap warns George.
Just then the cat boy starts to stir, probably due to George practically being on top of him.
“The hell?”
The thing occupying the couch spouts out in annoyance and confusion.
“Awww, he’s so much cuter when he’s mad.”
“Hey! What are you!?-“ the cat jumps back into the side of the couch, trying to get away from George’s hands on his furry ears.
“You!” He shouts angrily at the dark brown haired man giggling in the doorway.
“Hey, I just brought him here to hang, it’s not my fault that you choose to sleep wherever instead of just sleeping in your room.” Sapnap states out.
“Would you just-“ the feline shoves George off of the couch entirely, making a small hissing noise in response. “-Piss off.”
“Make me!” George said before pouncing on him again.
The feline responded with a swift swat to his chest, sending George back to the ground.
“Noo kittyy~”
“Alright George that’s enough harassing the cat for today.”
Said Sapnap.
“Aww bye bye kitty.” George responded.
They both left the living room to go into Sapnaps room instead, leaving the cat-boy to his own devices.
—————
“So what’s his name?”
George spoke up out of the sudden silence.
They were about thirty minutes into a Hefty gaming session when the question was asked.
“Huh?”
“Your roommate? The fluffy one down the hall? Come on give me a name!”
George quickly shot back before returning to absolutely dominate Sapnap in whatever game they ended up playing, (which promptly took another twenty minutes of bickering to decide on)
“Oh, yeah, that’s Dream. He’s pretty chill when he’s not an absolute asshole.”
Sapnap piped up at the end of his sentence to fluctuate his distain.
“Aww, that’s such a sweet name, better than snowball or kitty or whatever.”
George spoke from his seat on the floor beside Sapnaps bed, still deep into the game.
—————
“You’d better stop that or I’ll call George on you!”
“You wouldn't dare.”
Screeched Dream in disbelief.
“Don’t make me!, I’ll tell him how bad your being and he’ll have to get a spray bottle with your name on it! Actually, I think that’s exactly what I’ll do!”
Sapnap spoke up from his spot on one of the kitchen stools.
They had been arguing about whether cats or dogs were better pets, a topic Sapnap saves simply to piss Dream off, when Dream had threatened to eat his fish because of how adamant Sapnap was about proving a point.
Over the course of a few months, Dream warmed up to having George over every weekend and many weekdays too, in the way that Dream does of course. (Which is basically tolerating him until he leaves, as he puts it)
Despite this they had actually been pretty good friends, Dream even let George pet him once while the three were watching a movie. For the first time Dream didn’t seem to mind having his fur combed through with George’s hands. It might have even felt good for once, but Dream wasn’t going to let it slip.
Sapnap also noticed that Dream seemed to act differently when George was around, as if he finally had some mutual respect around him. (But maybe it was just the amount of times George threatened to drown Dream in the tub that made him like that.)
Besides that he actually seemed more comfortable than with most people Sapnap would bring around, and that Dream stuck around whenever George was in a room.
There also seemed to be less threats coming from Dream lately too, which in all honesty surprised Sapnap.
In the end, the three lived on the be great companions together, and they even invited George to live with them, which the offer was taken up and George moved in full time with them.
