Chapter 1: Prologue
Chapter Text
‘Tomorrow’s the day.
The day Ash Ketchum starts his journey. The day the Chosen One starts his journey. The day my little brother starts his journey.’ Scarlett thought as she packed her trainer’s bag, which was Arceus-sent because it could fit a lot, a whole lot of stuff required for a journey and still weigh as much as a normal backpack. She did not know what kind of technology was used but she was grateful for it all the same.
The 20-year-old girl sighed as she thought about the things her baby brother would have to face on his path to be a Pokémon Master, being the Chosen One that he was. Of course, she was not going to leave him alone to deal with criminal organizations and face legendaries. After all she had promised herself to be there with him, be there for him whenever he needed.
She went to her brother’s room. He was watching the elite battle between the Ghost Mistress Agatha and the latest Indigo conference champion. Agatha’s Gengar was destroying the guy’s Nidorino. Scarlett sighed when she saw her brother, who was supposed to be asleep, watching the match.
“You should be asleep. Do you want to be late for the first day of your journey?” Scarlett asked with a raised brow.
Ash whined, “But Lettie…I am way too excited to sleep. Just ask Riolu or Espeon, both of them are excited as well.”
Riolu and Espeon, who were both sitting on either side of Ash, nodded along to his words.
“Ri rio lurio riolu"
“Espe"
Scarlett remembered the day she gave an Eevee to her five-year-old brother, the same age she received her own starter, Clefable. The Eevee she gave him was her Sylveon’s son. The two bonded quickly and grew up together. He evolved into Espeon just a few months back.
Riolu came a few years later, her Lucario’s little brother. Riolu’s egg had started radiating aura as soon as it was in her brother’s vicinity. That was the first time Ash used aura. After that, once Riolu was born and old enough to learn, Scarlett and Lucario started their aura training.
“No matter how excited you are, if you don't wake up on time, you'll miss getting your official starter. Come on baby, it's time to sleep.” Scarlett warned as she switched off the tv and picked up her brother in her arms.
“Sissy! I'm not a baby anymore. You don't have to put me to bed like this." Ash cried indignantly.
“You'll always be my baby brother, Ashy." Scarlett smiled as she dropped him in his bed. Espeon and Riolu climbing next to him. “Now, no more staying awake, alright?”
"Yes, sister.” Ash sighed.
"Good night, baby.”
"Good night, Lettie.”
Scarlett switched off the lights and closed the door silently, going back to her own room.
—
The next day started with a peaceful morning as Scarlett woke up to her alarm. She took a quick bath, had breakfast and went to wake up Ash, who was surprisingly awake. No doubt thanks to Espeon.
He was re-checking his trainer bag to see if he missed anything.
“Are you ready to get your starter?" She asked with a smile.
“YES!" Ash grinned excitedly.
"Have some food and go to Professor Oak’s.” Scarlett told him. “I'll make sure everything is packed."
“Ok thanks!" Ash ran down the stairs with the pokemon in his heels.
“Good luck," Scarlett shouted behind him.

Trouble Keeper- we promised to never talk about that
Trouble Maker- hehe... sorry, Bluey darling, I couldn't help myself
Trouble Maker- you guys can call us red, which is me, and blue, which is keeper as revealing our identities would also give away my brother's identity
The Creator- I'll be adding my chosen one here, please be mindful and do not reveal your identities to him and do not ask for his identity either
History Fanatic- what if we figure out his identity?
The Creator- as long as you don't actively try to find it, it doesn't matter if you figure it out.
The Creator- Though that does not mean you deliberately give away clues @Trouble Maker
Trouble Maker- I didn't even do anything! and what if my brother discovers who we are?
The Creator- I will commend him if he is smart enough to figure that out.
Trouble Maker- wow! the favouritism.

Chapter Text
Trouble Keeper- I still don't understand how you, the chaos incarnate, and that little ray of sunshine are related
Trouble Maker- aww love you too bluey
History Fanatic- are we just gonna pretend that Arceus- Arceus of all pokemon just added us to a group chat to help his chosen one? And what does that even mean?
Trouble Maker- @The Creator answer the question, please
The Creator- My Chosen is someone who helps fix the balance of the world and aids the pokemon, especially legendaries and mythicals, to escape the clutches of those who wish to use and control them for their power. The chosen one's duty is to prevent any disaster from happening and keep the world at peace, especially at a time like this when my children are waking from their slumber. To ensure that the sacred bond that humans and pokemon share is safe and falls to no harm.
The Creator- I will now leave him in your capable hands to aid and guide him. Mew, let us leave. Thank you for your aid.
Chronic Chaos - but i dont wanna! this seems fun ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
The Creator - Mew…
Chronic Chaos - fine ¬_¬
The Creator has left the group chat
Chronic Chaos has left the group chat.
Water Diva- so… that just happened
History Fanatic- yup
Flying Master- we did not just collectively hallucinate, did we?
Trouble Keeper - I wish
Off His Rocks- rocks- certainly not
Fashion Failure- nah, man
Ancient Hobo- in all my time as a champion, I've never been this shocked by anything
Angel Wings- you're not the only one
Trouble Maker- this is so much fun
Trouble Keeper- I can almost hear you cackling, R
Trouble Maker- don't talk as if you aren't enjoying this as well
Trouble Keeper- ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ certainly not as much as you
Angel Wings- Trouble, can you tell us about your brother? since we're gonna be guiding him, it'll be helpful to know about him.
Trouble Keeper - I'll go! Chosen is like a little ray of sunshine. He loves pokemon and his sister the most. He loves to play with wild pokemon. He's kinda happy-go-lucky, but he does have a bit of a temper and loses it quite easily. He's been better at controlling it lately though.
Trouble Maker - He also has two Pokemon already, an espeon (his first pokemon) and a riolu. He has currently gone to get his official, league approved starter from Professor Oak
Flying Master- So that means you guys are from Kanto and probably live in or near Pallet Town if Chosen can come home after getting his starter
Trouble Keeper - …okay, I'm done. Say whatever you want to, red
Trouble Maker - really???
Trouble Keeper - NO!
Trouble Maker - ~_~
Trouble Maker- anywho, that’s enough I’m not gonna say anything else without my brother's permission. If you wanna know more, ask him
Water Diva - we understand, thanks for sharing tho
Trouble Maker - ofc, np. gotta go now
Scarlett sighed, cursing Arceus in her mind for making her life even more difficult than it already is as she kept the new ‘arcphone’, as Arceus called it, in her bag.
She called Liam and they talked for a while as she made sure her brother had everything ready for the journey.
She went downstairs where her mom was having breakfast.
“Morning mom."
“Good morning, honey." Delia smiled at her daughter. “Are you ready?"
“Absolutely. I checked everything twice." Scarlett replied, getting herself some water.
“I'll miss having you both around the house." Delia said, her voice cracking a little.
“I’ll drop by when I'm free, I promise. And I'll make sure Ash calls you regularly. Plus you can visit uncle more often now that you won't have us to look after.” Scarlett joked, watching her mom smile through pain at the thought of not having either of her children home.
"What starter do you think Ashy is going to pick?” Delia asked curiously, avoiding the topic.
Scarlett shook her head, "he didn't tell me. But we'll know soon, it's about time he comes back.”
“SCARLETT! MOM! I GOT MY STARTER." Ash burst through the front door, shouting in excitement.
Delia giggled, “speak of the devil.”
They both turned to see Ash running towards them with a Pikachu in his hands. Riolu was sitting on his head while Espeon strutted in gracefully, climbing onto Delia’s lap.
Scarlett raised an eyebrow, “A Pikachu, I see." She petted the electric type’s head making him purr softly, “chyaaa”
Ash stared at the pokemon with betrayal as Pikachu snickered.
He shook his head and grinned as he launched into an explanation about how he opted to get a different starter from the standard ones as there were four trainers starting their journey and only the three Kanto starters were available. So after the others got their starters, Professor Oak gave him Pikachu, who used Thunder Shock on them both upon coming out of the pokeball before Ash made friends with him.
Delia and Scarlett laughed as Pikachu made an innocent face, “Pika Pika”
Espeon rolled his eyes, rubbing his head against Delia’s hand in his fur for more petting. Delia rubbed his head before getting up, “I’ll make some food for your journey. It’ll last you for at least a few days, both of you.”
She looked at her children lovingly and went to the kitchen.
Scarlett gestured to Ash to follow her.
Chapter 4: 3
Chapter Text
“So to summarise, I have been chosen by Arceus to help save the world from danger of being destroyed, either from powerful, angry pokemon or from crazy, power-hungry humans and maintain the balance so the world continues to be peaceful. and the chat was created in order to prepare and guide me throughout my journey since I'm apparently too young.” Ash sighed with a troubled expression.
"Oh and let's not forget that the said powerful pokemon will most likely be legendaries or mythicals who haven't been seen for centuries.” He added with a scoff. "Out of all the people, why me?”
"Basically, yeah.” Scarlett replied, looking at her distressed brother sadly.
Ash looked like he was not sure how to react. “But I just want to become the greatest pokemon master ever. I didn't ask to be the Chosen One."
“I'm sorry, baby brother. I know it’s scary and sounds bizarre but I wanted you to know the truth so that you are prepared." Scarlett hugged him tightly, pulling him onto her lap. “And don’t worry, I'll be with you at every step and do my best to help you."
"Thanks sis.”
Scarlett knew. She knew that she was not supposed to tell him about all this. She knew that this would stress her brother out. She knew that this was going to give him a burden. She knew that this might distract him and make him lose focus. She knew that this would get in the way of him pursuing his dream.
But, she had a reason for telling him. She did not want him to go into a dangerous situation weak, under prepared and uninformed. She'd rather he be strong, prepared and informed so that he knew what to do than have him suffer because the information was kept from him by people who thought they knew better.
While Arceus did have his reasons to keep it from him, she didn't agree.
Keeping such a big secret always bites one back, especially if it's from a loved one and she knew that from experience. She did not want to repeat the mistake her parents in her previous life made by keeping secrets from her.
After all, how was one supposed to avoid the danger if they did not know what the danger was?
It was similar in Ash’s case. He would go head first into any danger if he could help someone. So it was better to warn him so that he knew what to do. So that he would work hard and get strong. So that he knew what to expect. So that he knew how the whole world literally depended on his choices. So that he would be careful and cautious. So that he wouldn't fall apart when things go wrong. So that he could become someone to rely on and someone who would rely on others. So that he did not become over confident. So that her brother would be alive and safe.
Ash’s three pokemon were sitting in the bed next to them, processing her words.
“Lu rio rio luri"
“Es espe peonnn ess"
“Chuuu pika kachu"
All three let out encouraging sounds as well as promises to help him and get as strong as possible.
“Thanks guys." Ash sniffled with a weak smile.
"Alright little brother, cheer up. You're about to start your journey now.” Scarlett smiled at him.
Ash smiled back shakily and stood up.
"And Ash," he looked up curiously, Scarlett never called him by his name unless it was important. “Rmember, if you ever need help, just ask Riolu to send an aura message to Lucario or Espeon to send a psychic one. I'll get to you as soon as possible.” Scarlett reminded him.
“Of course!” Ash grinned. "I trust you.”
Her heart warmed upon hearing that. That meant a lot to her.
"And always keep a pokemon out at all times, specifically in the wild, you never know what might happen.”
"Understood.” He said running out to get his bag. His pokemon went to follow him.
Scarlett shook her head at her hyperactive brother.
“What do you think, Clefable?" She turned to her starter who was listening to the whole conversation from her own bed in the corner of the room.
"Clefable fab fableee” Clefable went over to her human, who ran her hands through her soft fur.
“Yeah, he is definitely strong.” Scarlett agreed. “Well then, let’s go.”
She re-called her starter in her pokeball and got her bag, ready to hit the road again.
Chapter 5: 4
Chapter Text
Lance Blackthorn had been staring at his phone blankly for the past half an hour. While he was sitting still, his mind was racing. Arceus? Mew? Chosen One?
He was at the Indigo Plateau, doing the dastardly paper-work he was stuck with when his personal phone had chimed. Very few people had his phone number, so he checked it. A mistake.
Now he was processing the whole thing that happened. Helping a kid wasn't that bad but the said kid being Arceus' Chosen One? That was very bad. He couldn't afford making any mistakes unless he had a death wish. He did not know what Arceus would do if something happened to his chosen one and he did not wish to find that out. Moreover the kid is from Kanto, so whatever he comes across will fall under Lance's responsibilty, and from what Arceus mentioned, it was not going to be easy.
The only saving grace was that he wasn't alone. He had the other champions with him, as well as the kid's sister and her best friend. Why those two? He wasn't sure, but having them would definitely help. They probably knew the kid well and would be an undeniable help.
Lance wondered how old those two were. Couldn't be older than 15-20 as the kid was 10. At least he assumed so.
He sighed, going back to his paperwork.
===
The sound of drills and rocks breaking echoed through the cave as Steven Stone hammered away. Usually he would have his pokemon do the breaking part but this time, he needed to think.
He had been happily searching for some unique rocks or gems in some new caves that he found yesterday, when his private phone buzzed. That had been a surprise, mainly because there was no signal in the caves. So, of course, he checked it.
What shocked him was that even though there was no signal, one particular group worked. Phone calls or messaging did not work but the chat, 'Help my Chosen One',- what sort of a name was that- had no issues. It was like that particular chat did not require a signal to work.
He opened the chat and what greeted him was the biggest surprise of his life. And now he was processing the information in the best way he knew- thinking as he hammered at the rocks.
He was going to have to help a kid, the chosen one, but a kid nonetheless to save the world. Because apparently, others were too incapable to do so. Though he did wonder why his sister and her best friend were added. The champions he understood, why those two?
He put that in the back of his mind to think about later.
===
Wallace Mikuri had been practising a performance with his beloved Milotic when he learnt about the group chat. He did not think much of it and just went back to his practice after Red and Blue had replied. As curious as he was, he had an upcoming opening performance for the Wallace Cup and he needed it to be perfect.
He would talk about it with Steven later. Right now he has other things to do.
===
Scribbling could be heard as Cynthia Shirona excitedly wrote her theories. While surprised initially, she was ecstatic to learn that Arceus actually existed. And now she had to guide his chosen one.
She grinned as she thought about the other legends of ancient and powerful pokemon, namely Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. She couldn't wait to know more.
Though she did wonder why it had to be a literal child that was responsible for the whole world when a perfectly capable group of adults- namely the champions- was available.
===
Alder Adeku was enjoying a nice break from his duties as the champion when the chaos started. He did not want to deal with the whole chosen one thing. He was too old for it, but he would naturally do his best to guide the kid. That was the least he could do as the eldest reigning champion.
He did feel worried for the young boy. This whole thing would put a lot of pressure on him, which could cause mental harm to the boy. Not to mention the danger he would get into.
He groaned as he imagined all the effort he would have to put in. There went his leisure days.
===
During a break in the shoot, Diantha Carnet saw the new chat and immediately responded to the messages.
And now she was stuck playing a mentor/guide to the chosen one. Thank Xerneas for Trouble Keeper and Trouble Maker.
Before she could chat anymore, she was called back for filming.
===
Leon Dande was lost, again. He was about to call his best friend, Raihan, for help when he saw the messages. He just went ahead with the flow and introduced himself. This way he could keep in touch with other champions without Rose knowing but his name in the chat could have been much better. His outfit and fashion sense were amazing, thank you very much.
As for helping the chosen one? He would love to help a new trainer and teach them the ropes.
He shook his head and called Raihan. He was already running late.
