Chapter Text
“From what I have observed, I conclude that I am not supposed to be scared of any of the werewolves.” A-Spen said, carefully choosing their words. Zed and Addison, who had been doing their homework in the library before the alien came up to them, looked at each other in confusion and furrowed their brows. “I mean, they were a bit scary at first when they burst into the school, all fangs and sharp claws. But they only bring them out now when they want to show off their 'wolfness' so…“ The zombie shrugged as he trailed off.
Addison nodded at her boyfriend’s answer, turning to A-Spen. “I know the glowing eyes and sharp teeth can be off-putting at first, but you get used to it after the first few times.”
The alien had not exactly meant those features of the Pack, but rather the sometimes too much, very much knife sharp teeth. Or the strange wolf-like shadow that stood on its hind legs instead of on all fours( and was definitely more humanoid in build )that they saw out of the corner of their eye, or eyes that reflected light at night in a way that was definitely more animal like than anything.
However seeing that the two didn’t know what they were talking about, A-Spen left the two to their school work.
A-Lan knew that the werewolves were going to be territorial and protective of their home, especially if their Moonstone is touched without permission. In fact he had expected it, after the possessive displays they showed by wrapping themselves around their chosen human or zombie( or anyone they deemed to be theirs ). Some of them wore jewelry clearly made by the wolves, but some of them had more…eye catching claims on them( namely on their neck or forearms ).
But this? He felt like an actual small prey animal being hunted right now. The humanoid wolf shadows that the Pack cast didn’t help this feeling. The growls, howls and vague death threats he could hear also did not help in the slightest.
When he threw a few boxes as a distraction, the speed with which two wolves ran towards them was terrifying. And then when searching through them, their sharp claws cut through the wood as if it was but wet paper. He knew that their only chance to escape them was either hiding or out smarting them, running was definitely not in question. They could maybe float higher so that they are harder to reach, but he has witnessed more than once that the wolves very well could jump as high as two houses so that was not an option either. With the Mothership not willing to beam them up, the three of them would have to get creative, if they wanted to live.
“Step back, Zed.” Willa said before growling, her Moonstone activating. All of the aliens stepped back, the unnatural sharpness of their teeth and claws frightening them.
But A-Spen realized that they didn’t feel scared, after all they couldn’t see anything they should feel remotely scared of. Where before they saw humanoid wolf creatures with too much teeth, now all they could see were people with glowing eyes and only one pair of fangs.
The one in the front was the one who took their breath away the most. Hair in loose waves with one strand colored white, eyelids painted with purple and gold. Her skin was a rich brown color, her eyes glowed a golden yellow. “So much passion.” They found themselves saying, something like awe in their voice. Zed turned to them for second before looking back at the pack. “Uh, she wants to rip your heart out.” The zombie said, confused at A-Spen’s reaction. This fact didn’t change anything for the alien. “She can have it.”
A-Lan and A-Li looked at each other in concern along with others of their group.
‘They have fallen under whatever causes the locals to not see the wolves' true nature.’ A-Li said telepathically. ‘Does this means we too will soon be affected by whatever surrounds this town?’ A-Ron asked back. Then A-Lan said something that he never thought he would. ‘I don’t…I don’t know.’

After witnessing one of their own fall victim to the werewolves’ charm, they hoped that their departure would maybe lift whatever could’ve fallen over A-Spen’s eyes( though how they were going to test that, they didn’t know ). Fortunately, no one has followed in their footsteps( yet )and no one else has said that they found any of the wolves 'more beautiful than a nebula'(quote from A-Spen themselves).
A group stood in the control center, trying to fix whatever the shockwave the Pack of Seabrook released with their necklaces' fid to damage their Mothership. They needed the spaceship to work so that they could finally find their Utopia, since they finally had their map in the form of Addison.
Everybody was silent as they worked but soon it was broken by A-Liana sighing. “I know that our perfect home is very important, but what if not everyone went?” At this question they all turned to her, a quiet encouragement to continue. “I mean what if I found someone I would stay on this planet for?” A-Li raised an eyebrow, a bit suspicious but not willing to judge just yet.
“I know exactly what you mean. I met these charming zombies, and I can’t get them out my mind. I asked Addison what it meant and she said that I am in love.” A-Va said, looking off into the distance with a dreamy expression. “You’re telling me, maybe A-spen wasn’t exactly wrong about those wolves. Maybe they were even downplaying their beauty.” A-Mos joined in. The two girls “ooooh”-ed and immediately sat down next to him to discuss all their crushes.
All A-Li could do was stare at her family in disbelief while two of them confessed their romantic feelings for werewolves. The ones who would’ve ripped out their throats for stepping too close to those they deemed theirs. Those who had literally hunted three of them down, then the next day threatened everyone who belonged to their race with slow and painful death( but obviously in a way that their human and zombie companions didn’t realize they were growling out death threats ). She immediately went to find A-Lan since she couldn’t do anything about this alone and with their leadership now down 2/3 she wasn’t even sure they could do anything.
