This was originally posted on NationStates as a factbook for the nation of the same name, which was based on the official Pick-n-Mix Comix version.

The Kingdom of Inglenook is a constitutional monarchy, and has been since the separation of monarch and parliament by Queen Aurora, which came following her landmark coronation in 1838 that put an end to a long-running period of religious authoritarianism known as the Enlightenment.
Since that year in the 1800s, the government of Inglenook has been divided between the reigning monarch as a figurehead and legislative and executive branches of the government itself, which consist of the Houses of Parliament and the Ministries, respectively.

The most recent reigning monarch is Queen Charlotte, who was initially crowned as King Charles in 1961 after the death of her uncle, King Benedict. Since its founding as the Kingdom of Inglenook over 1000 years ago, the monarchy has always remained within the Prospero family, and all reigning monarchs have been Prospero by birth and blood.

Houses of Parliament

The Houses of Parliament are a tricameral system sometimes referred to in casual terms as "the Three Pillars". They comprise the legislative branch of the Kingdom's government, and consist of:

• The House of Affairs

Minstries of Inglenook

The Ministries are the administrative and executive branches of Inglenook, responsible for executing and administering laws, legal procedures, and official government and oversight business over the maintenance of the Kingdom and its infrastructure.

While numerous, they operate under the purview of the First Minister, an elected position who acts as the honorable Head of State, alongside the reigning monarch as the Kingdom's figurehead. The current First Minister is Alice Sheffield.

Most Ministries also oversee a number of departments, subdepartments, administrative bureaus, and government organizations as part of the process of fulfilling their job description, which can be created and dissolved on the spot and cover a wide section of duties from road maintenance to the oversight of technology, education, and use of sorcery and magic within the Kingdom's borders.
