“I beg you pardon what was the question?”Gamma Jack asked, Incredible. Because he wasn’t sure if he heard correctly as he has been in many situations but this, being asked what was it again.
“I asked if your seeing anyone”Incredible sighed a bit.
Well Jack wouldn’t lie but no he isn’t seeing anyone. He wasn’t the settle down type of guy because with dame’s he tends to come and go with them, because he always lived up to his name being known as Handsome Jack which he grown accustomed to.
Just before he opened his mouth Frozen interrupted."Before you say ‘Yes’ Bob means someone here from NSA”he explained.
Now that shut him up, he could lie but honestly the whole relationship thing wasn’t a big deal for him because Incredible and Elastigirl were dating or whatever he name was, it didn’t matter but he might as well lie since almost half of everyone here is either getting together or not.
“Of course I am!” he lied.
As he said that he watched as Frozen and Incredible looked at each other before looking over back towards him. It felt…Judgemental. Gamma Jack was about to say something but turned red when Incredible and Frozen started laughing at him.
“There’s no way your dating anyone here Jack!”
Jack felt the tips of his ears burn a bit, he could agree but his pride was telling him otherwise, he’ll just point to who ever is the closest to him and all will be done.”I--I am!!”he huffed.
“Okay who is it?” Frozen asked him still laughing.
Gamma Jack felt his heart in his throat as he quickly looked around scanning the area, Blazestone? No, she’s a the only dame he’ll forever be friends with, Psycwave? To creepy for his liking and doesn't want to get mind controlled by her, Stormicide? Nope he’ll be made fun of if because she works with gasses.
Apogee is a hard pass…
Out of all the dame’s he could pick none of them will agree to be his pretend boyfriend knowing his track record.
Just as all hope was lost, his eyes were set on them, of course it wasn’t a dame but he swallowed his pride and turned around forcing a smile on his face. “Gazerbeam…I’m dating Gazerbeam” he pointed towards were Gazerbeam was.
“What?!?!” Incredible and Frozen exclaimed.
“I thought you were into…You know…Girls”Frozen pointed out.
Yeah no shit Lucius…I’m straight…Gamma Jack thought but smiled a bit.”Oh well you know I sorta…Swing both ways”He said quickly.
After all what he said wasn’t false, a few guys have fallen for him like a few of them dame’s he saved once in awhile. But him? Gamma Jack, The Gamma Jack, being into guys?! Let alone attracted to them was laughable but truly he had to use Gazerbeam as a shield because he didn’t want his pride and ego to be bruised.
“Well I don’t believe you, we work together as a team and not once have I’ve seen you or Gazerbeam at least be that close,”Incredible stated.
That took Jack aback but looked at him.”What it’s true, Simon and I are dating! W-We just didn’t want to tell you guys and all because you know we keep our relationships out of the workspace” Jack doubled down on the lie.
As Jack said that he watched as Incredible narrowed his eyes a bit studying him for a moment. It made Jack uncomfortable and it was way worse if this was Psycwave, but he watched at Parr grin a bit he peered over his shoulder.
Jack felt his heart jump into his throat thinking that he was going to call Gazerbeam but instead was surprised when Incredible looked at him for a moment before crossing his arms."Alright, we'll go on a double date . I'll bring Elastigirl and you Gazerbeam" he added.
"Alright sure fine, whatever"He said quickly.
Incredible grinned as he stuck his hand out for Gamma Jack to shake"Alright, the dinner will be next Saturday at seven, regular clothes since I'm sure Helen and I would love to know how you two started dating.”
Gamma Jack bit his tongue, not wanting to ruin the illusion but took Incredible hand as he gave him a firm handshake. "Of course, Simon and I wouldn't miss the world for it"
The idea of having to pretend to date anyone feels ridiculous, but pretending to date Gazerbeam is just—well, it’s beyond preposterous let alone ludicrous. Since he doesn't have an idea how Gazerbeam would agree to be his fake date his he doesn't want his ego to get bruised.
Though the only problem is to get Gazerbeam to agree to go on this fake date with him. After all how hard can that be, There was no way things will go wrong right? I mean it's not like Gazerbeam will say no to him. Besides he's Gamma Jack and no one says no to Gamma Jack...Right?
