Work Text:
They’ve been arguing for hours, iTrapped’s throat long hoarse, as they threw relentless accusations to eachother.
“It wasn’t even that much of a big deal–”
“Not much of a big deal?” Ellernate bitterly laughed, “Stealing multiple accounts and wrecking the economy isn’t a big deal?” He venomously spat out, a level of fury even iTrapped couldn’t recognize in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, okay? I admit, what I did was wrong, but why am I the scapegoat to all of this? I’m not the only one who’s in the wrong, for god’s sake!” iTrapped said, desperately defending himself for his wrongdoings. Even if a small part of Ellernate acknowledged that iTrapped was indeed stating the truth, that the problem was indeed not merely his fault, the anger gnawed all that common sense away.
“Because everything is your fault. We were subtle about it.” Ellernate calmly stated, though it was obvious he was furious at the outcome of their actions–the mayhem they had caused.
“Oh so Caleb’s actions were subtle?” iTrapped tried to reason but–
“Do not drag him into this. This is about you, you selfish jerk.” Ellernate couldn’t even comprehend what he was saying, didn’t even understand what he meant by that, “You ruined everything. This is all your fault.”
Hurtful words tumbled out of Ellernate’s throat before he could even process it.
iTrapped just stared at Ellernate in silence, throat dry at the dirty accusations.
He felt hurt.
And Ellernate knew but chose not to care.
“...Fine. I’ll assume my presence isn’t wanted here.” iTrapped said, turning around, hands clenched into fists, yet voice eerily calm. Each word pronounced felt like shards of glass in his throat. He swallowed, before finally leaving Ellernate behind.
….
“Ugh.. How are you not tired?” An annoying voice that immediately soured iTrapped’s mood even further.
“Shut it.” iTrapped dryly replied, gaze focused on the phone in his hand, attention elsewhere.
“I feel hurt. Am I this bad?” Chance sighed dramatically, before catching iTrapped in a hug without a warning. iTrapped immediately flinched, hands instinctively trying to push Chance away. Eventually, realizing it was futile to fight back, he just groaned and accepted the gesture of affection begrudgingly.
“Go back to sleep, Chance.”
“Huh? You usually call me Chancey. You in a bad mood or something?”
“Shut,” He gritted through his teeth, “Up.”
“Ugh, such a party pooper. But anything for my prince.” Chance finally loosened the hug, and iTrapped quickly squirmed out of it, letting out a deep sigh of relief. Before Chance snored.
How does one even sleep this quickly?? That’s simply absurd.
iTrapped’s gaze hovered slowly over Chance’s slumbering form. He had never meant to grow this attached to Chance–after all, he was only with them for the Banland’s key, only to rescue his friends from the Banlands and earn their trust again but–
iTrapped’s hands fondly caressed Chance’s right cheek.
The headphones, the shades, the fedora–
It was like Chance was him. He who had thrown a fit of anger and hurt him so much.
Of course, that meant iTrapped should really hate Chance, after all, he looked like the person who had betrayed him so cruelly.
Yet–
His lips brushed against Chance’s.
He was still stupidly in love with Ellernate.
He realized it was a bad idea, and nervously pulled away, internally berating himself.
His gaze dropped the more he stared at Chance. The more obvious that Chance was not him, the more obvious that Chance could never be him.
The one he yearned for for so long.
Then, later
His lips finally brush over Chance’s again. This time, however, Chance caressed iTrapped’s cheek instead of the other way. A shaky smile managed to grace Chance’s bloodied lips. The sword pierced through Chance’s heart, an odd coincidence. Chance’s other hand, completely soaked by blood, does something similar to a hug to iTrapped, staining iTrapped’s vest from behind.
“You,” Chance started, tears dropping from the corner of his eyes, “Are so, so selfish.”
Selfish.
iTrapped started to think he has started to hate that word immensely.
….
“I told you to never meet me again–and yet here you are.”
“I saved you this time from the Banlands–you and Caleb. Why are you still so angry at me?”
“I don’t want to see your face.” Ellernate stated without a single falter.
“I love your face, my prince.” Chance had murmured on his last breath.
“Well I love to see yours.” iTrapped attempted to joke .
“This is not a light matter.”
“Why can’t I see you again? This isn’t fair.”
“Life isn’t fair, Isaac.”
And the door was slammed shut in front of his face. Ouch.
