Chapter 1: info
Chapter Text
okay!!! info chapter let’s get this out of the way
uhh this fic is inspired by low level’s dead or alive. you should read it good fic
reason i say that is because this fandom doesn't seem to have many aus that aren't just one ship oriented or isn't just “it’s just forsaken but” scenarios? if you get it anyway
i may not be good at writing long fic this is my first time trying please bear with me i may suck
do not ask about my other fics!! i may update them i may not!!! i am not really in that fandom space anymore!!! if you do mention them i will delete your comments!! thanks
anyways onto something actually pretty important
Character/Organization Info
spoiler free i think
HEROS:
The Administration:
Led by Builderman, this is the main group that is known for trying to protect Robloxia. They don't really have secret identities or anything, being a part of the group is essentially their whole life.
Builderman - The leader of the group, and also is the mayor of Robloxia. Not much of a fighter. Mostly drowning in paperwork and news press.
Shedletsky - Closest to Builderman relationship wise. Known for his sword fighting, said to be inspired and gifted by the God known as Telamon. Shows his face to the public a lot more than Builderman, it's regular to see him walking about on the street, or just eating at your local restaurant. Despite this, he always carries a sword on his person just in case.
Dusekkar - Used to be one of the strongest members of the group, but in recent years he has gotten weaker with time. Dusekkar is seen as a major authoritative figure. If there's a greater threat, he's a very good strategist.
NEUTRAL PARTIES:
The Spawnists:
Exactly what you think. The cult that worships the Spawn. Dusekkar has tried to dismantle the cult and bring it down many times, but they're very unified.
Two Time - That's not their real name, rather an alias they go under, for the Spawn has gifted them with a second life. An assassin who believes that all the work they do is in the name of their God, and that this will be what grants them their second life.
Azure - Alive. Studies brewery, aiding Two Time on their quest of getting a second life.
The Mafia:
It's the Mafia? I can't really give a better description than that.
"Mafioso" Sonnellino - Mafioso, of course, is just an alias. In fact, if not all of the names of the Mafia family are made up. Debt collector.
the other guys exist to i'm just too lazy to write about them
The Void Cult:
The cult following the Void Star, the leader and current owner of said prized possession is Noli.
Noli - Used to "minorly" terrorize Robloxia with 007n7 before obtaining the Void Star. Now seen as a God to his followers with the Void Star in his possession.
aspx and the others also exist btw just. not writing about them they're minor characters probably
007n7 - Former villain, now father to his son, c00lkidd. Kind of poor, but does whatever he can do to give a good life to his son.
Telamon - The God of the swords, one of the most known figures across robloxia. Has tendencies to appear whenever he likes.
John Doe - Used to work under the administration, as he was born with the code infused into him. This ended up causing him to slowly be corrupted by it, however, so he had to be let go.
Jane Doe - Used to work under the administration with John Doe. Trying to find some way to help him.
Elliot - Works at Builder Brother's Pizza.
Guest 1337 - Trained in the military, has a life with his wife and daughter.
Taph - Demolitionist, has worked with the administration at times.
Noob - Grew up in the poorer area of Robloxia. Still lives in a run down apartment with their roommate.
Guest 666 - Also grew up in the poorer area. Lives with Noob.
Chance - Owns a casino, doesn't like getting involved with "magic stuff".
VILLAINS:
Slasher - A nightly villian. Would usually be classified as a criminal, but his power lets him repeat his actions.
1x1x1x1 - It's 1x. Presumably created by Telemon as all of his hatred. Vendetta against Shedletsky.
Doombringer - Used to work with the administration, left because he realized how powerful he was on his own.
Team Gliza - The group behind one of the biggest attacks against Robloxia in its history, led by Caleb244 with Ellernate, iTrapped, and Twister92. Twister92 ended up ratting the rest of the team out, which ended up in the rest of them presumably being banned.
uhhh other things of note
this fic isn’t really oriented to one ship (i’ll try not to make it, at least). uh all the storylines are loosely plotted out
in relation to that not everything is going to be at the start of the fic. wait your turn
also in relation noob666 specifically can be seen as platonic or romantic im writing more platonic though
i have a beta reader!! thank youu so much line diamond!!!!
chapters in this fic are sorted by pov. you could get multiple chapters in a row of a character pov you could get one chapter of character pov. i may say or i may not if you're getting another one. max is three though keep that in mind
the only exception to that is the first chapter i kinda just threw shit at a wall. it's basically just a startup to everybody's stories. you’ll see how it's formatted
other than that yeah that's it! hope you enjoy
Chapter 2: Establishment
Summary:
Establishing chapter.
Notes:
this is likely the only chapter of the fic to have multiple povs like this okay? okay
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Builderman sighed, shuffling through the paperwork on his desk. It was just going to be one of those days, like how it’s been for the past… 2 weeks? He wasn’t really counting at this point. He looked them over roughly. Things about the town, complaints, requests; He should really hire a guy to help him with all of this, but he wasn’t sure enough if he could trust anybody else with this job. Maybe Dusekkar? He’s known him for a while.
Eh, Dusekkar already does a lot of other work on his own. Shedletsky was definitely not a paperwork kind of guy, besides, he was more on the “hero” side of the administration than the “government” side. That didn’t mean that he didn’t work hard, in fact, everybody in the administration worked hard, and he was really proud of his team.
Builderman got brought out of his thoughts once he heard a couple of knocks on his office door. “Come on in;” He said, trying to force a slight smile in order to look somewhat composed. Dusekkar opened the door, floating inside like he normally does. Builderman’s smile softened, relaxing a bit.
“Sorry to interrupt your work, I hope you understand my intention is not to irk.”
“Do yer need anything, Dusekkar?” Builderman decided to cut straight to the point.
“I do suggest that you take a break, I am only giving this idea for your sake. Have you perhaps considered what’s for lunch today? Or maybe you should go on a walk, that should be a nice breakaway.”
Builderman looked down at his papers, “I’d love to, Dusekkar. But right now, I at least need t’ get something done;” He clicked his pen. “As I don’t really have much time for that.”
He started reading over the paper in front of him, trying to act as neutral as possible. “Can I get the status update on the villains?”
“There was an attack from the Slasher the other night, and we haven’t heard anything from either 1x1 or Doombringer, which has given me a bit of a fright.”
Builderman winced a bit. The Slasher has been a huge problem, especially because they’re just killing innocent robloxians. Usually with somebody like them they’d just have the police deal with them, as what they’re doing is just straight up criminal activities (not that the other villains weren’t also criminals, their main goals usually didn’t just target civilians), but reports said that they had some sort of power, which is probably why they were able to escape police so easily. Now, this meant that they needed to be dealt with by the administration.
1x1 was… Well, they were only after Shedletsky, but the team wasn’t going to just let him deal with them alone. It was apparently something to do with the fact that they were both gifted by Telamon..? Builderman didn’t know the whole story, and Shedletsky was never really keen on talking about it.
Doombringer… Builderman shuttered just at the thought. “Thinking about it will not bring much good, we cannot just rush to act on everything, despite as many think we should.”Oh. He had forgotten that Dueskkar was still here. He was right though, Builderman just has to let bygones be bygones, he supposed. He looked towards the clock. 10:31.
“Dusekkar, you should probably get back to yer’ plans,” Dusekkar nodded, turning to leave Builderman’s office.
“Oh, don’t forget t’ remind Shedletsky that he has an 'uting that he needs to get to today.” He said a bit louder, as Dusekkar shut the door. Builderman looked back at the stack of paperwork.
…Telamon, he should really take one of Dusekkar’s suggestions.
Elliot wasn’t having many earlier customers this morning, which was alright. It gave him time to prepare for rush hour. Rush hour was probably one of the hardest moments of the day, especially since Elliot was currently the only worker currently at Builder Brother’s. His younger sister said that she’d work with him, but Elliot had reassured her that she didn't have to. It’s not like he needed the money, his family had enough money to last them to retirement, this was just tradition at this point. He was practically working all day, but it’s what he loved.
He worked in the pizzeria by day, and then on certain nights, he’d do deliveries. Sometimes, his parents would help out, but right now they were off on vacation for the next year. Elliot didn’t blame them, they needed the break. The front door to the pizza place rang, and Elliot looked up from where he was standing as the guy walked over to the counter.
“Welcome to Builder Brother’s Pizza, what can I get you?” He looked up at the man. He was tall, and brooding, dressed in dark, fashionable clothing, topped with a fedora. Elliot couldn’t see his eyes. Definitely from the richer area of Robloxia…
“Hello there,” He had a strong Italian accent. “Could I get…” He turned to the side, which revealed that he was on the phone.
“Four pepperoni pizzas. Oh, and one cheese pizza.” Elliot nodded, inputting the order into his tablet.
“And I’m assuming it’s to go?” The man looked down at Elliot, closing his phone.
“Yes, it’s to go.” He put his hands into his pockets. “Any drinks with that?”
“Two fizzlys, Three bloxy colas.”
“Alright, that’ll be 43 robux,” The man put down the robux on the table. “Keep the change.”
Elliot nodded. “I’ll be preparing your order in the back, it’ll be around 15-20 minutes.” Elliot started to turn, but the man took out a cigar. “Sir, I’m sorry, but you can’t smoke in here. Messes with our smoke detectors.”
“Ah, right right…” He put it away slowly. “My apologies.”
Elliot left to go make the pizza in the back. He didn’t care if he was now on a list because he asked for the man to put the cigar away, he just didn’t want to deal with having to dismantle the smoke detector, especially with his parents gone. People like this come into the pizzeria all the time, and Elliot treats everybody the same. There was no need to start beef with the pizza guy, so why would somebody? He only had to ban a couple of people, but the reasons he had were valid. This guy hadn’t done anything to try and hurt him or the business.
15 minutes had passed, and all of the pizzas were ready. “Order’s ready!” Elliot put it all in a bag on the counter, as he saw the man get up and get what he had ordered. “Thank you kindly.” He left the store, the bells signifying his leave.
Elliot sighed, tapping on the counter. Honestly, one of the things he was most grateful for is that he didn’t have any sort of powers. Having powers gave people an unneeded sense to do something with them, and that they’re gifted and unique in some way. It’s just nice to not be expected to do something with powers.
He didn't want anything more in life.
“...Jane?” John stumbled into the living room of their shared house.
“John?!” She ran up to him, “Go back to bed, honey.” Jane cupped his face.
“I’m hungry…” John didn't pull away from her touch. “I can make myself something for once, right?”
“John. Look at your shoulder.” Jane looked at him with concern. “It looks worse, you should rest…”
“Jane, you know I love and respect you but I don't want to stay the rest of my days bedridden.” She sighed, bringing her hand down from his face. “Besides, I can still move my arm.” As if to demonstrate, John moved his right arm, although his movements were stiff.
“John…” Jane didn't look too impressed. He knew that she was right in the end. The disease was built into him, and at most times when somebody started showing signs it would spread, quickly. Most people were put out of the misery per their request, but John didn't want that. He still had a life to fulfill.
It came up the other month. John had begun feeling weaker, and he had started showing up to work less often, as Jane forced him to stay home. He eventually went to go get himself checked out, which ended in the discovery that the disease was just developing.
He had tried to deny it. Usually, it ended up coming out in the earlier years of life. Denying it didn't fix the fact that a mass of 1s and 0s were building up in his shoulder, over a black glitchy mass that only seemed to grow each day. It had begun to spike up as well at the end of his shoulder, which meant he couldn't move it too close to his face. He was let go off of work, and Jane followed with, desperate to find a way to cure him. In the end, they both knew their endeavors would be hopeless.
“You know I trust you, but…” Jane averted her gaze.
“I know, I know,” John made his way to the couch, sitting down. “Can I watch the news?”
“You don't have to ask, you know,” She let out a small chuckle. “Do you want something fresh to eat before I leave for the day?”
“Well when you put it like that…” Jane smiled at him, letting out an amused huff; “Make what you feel like.”
“Okay then, be back in a moment!” John saw her enter the kitchen, as he paid his attention back to the television.
1x looked up at the sun, trying to find out what time it was.
They were in a clearing in the middle of the forest. It's been here before, this had to be one of its favourite places to just “relax” for a bit.
1x stayed off grid, sometimes resurfacing in more rural and poor areas to steal food or to get something like news. He didn't have any reason to try and live in Robloxia, and the people annoyed him.
So, they spent their days out in the forest, waiting, hunting, plotting… They had realized a while ago that they didn’t need to rush to kill Shedletsky all the time.
It would be to her benefit to do things sooner than later, but she decided to “enjoy” her time here. Whatever that meant.
Thus she stood, in the clearing staring up at the sky.
Just thinking.
“Oh, you’re finally up.” Azure looked back at the newly awakened Two Time. It wasn't uncommon for him to be up hours before they were up.
“Ah, praise the Spawn that I have risen again.” They stepped out onto the grass, seeing Azure planting something. “What are you growing today?”
“Oh, various things.” He smiled at them. “I’m preparing for a nice harvest for the spring.”
The two spawnists lived off more in the rural area, not even inside of a house. They rotated frequently to avoid getting found. Getting caught and questioned isn’t what they wanted, especially how the thing that they were doing wasn’t actually “ban worthy” according to them. The admins believed in their “God”, why couldn’t they? Calling what they were doing a “cult” was blasphemy in their eyes.
“Well, it is mostly flowers… I’m not doing crops anymore,” Azure let out an amused huff.
“I think whatever you make is great, Azure. Sure, your crops weren’t up to standard the last time, but I’m sure the spawn appreciated your gift.” Two Time remembered the last time Azure had tried to help to grow crops, ultimately failing to reach the standards.
“Yeah…” Azure advertised their gaze at the mention of it, cheeks turning slightly red out of embarrassment. Two Time chuckled.
“Do you have to do work tonight?” Azure asked, which caught them a bit off guard. “No, why would I?”
Azure looked at them confused for a moment. “Don't tell me you forgot today's meetup…”
“Oh my Spawn, please forgive me, I got so caught up in today being the day I needed to plant these seeds.” Azure stood up from the grass.
“You will be forgiven. Don't fret.” Two Time gave them a pat on the back. A meetup is when all of their members come together, essentially like a mass. They’d pray and do rituals together, and both offer the things they make to the Spawn and to each other. It was always something to look forward to.
Recently, however, their endeavors had to be more secret and sporadic, just so they could stay hidden. Two Time remembered the days when the cult had advertised for people to come and witness the greatness of the Spawn, and what it could do. Nowadays, they had to cover up their symbols once they went into an area that was more populated, just so they wouldn't get taken away. They were really young back when they didn't have to do such things. In fact, they never really had any life before the joining the community, being very quickly adopted into it. Two Time knew Azure had come into their religion a bit later than they had, maybe around adolescence. He was looking for shelter.
Amarah had taken them in, just like he had done for them, and they both had been taught well. Growing up after that, they were both inseparable. Now, presently, Azure still helped them in many ways. They helped Two Time even get their jobs for their assassin work, which they were more than grateful for. Without Azure, they didn't know how they would bring in money for both their personal needs, and their religion.
Of course, they couldn't also forget that their work should be able to grant them with their Spawn given ability. It was either that, or…
Two Time didn't like to think of the other option.
007n7 slouched back into the old couch that he was sitting on. He was in his house (that he still wasn't sure on how he afforded to buy, most of the furniture he had was stolen off the street), just having finished work. He had already picked up his son from school, which had started two days ago.
Said son was currently in the kitchen, devouring the sandwich that his father made him. 007n7 did not know a thing about cooking, but he had to make sure that his son was eating better than the slop that he had been eating previously.
“Dad!!!” C00lkidd ran up to him, having that childlike grin on his face.
“Hm?” 007n7 turned to look at his son. “What is it, C00lkidd?”
“What day is it??” The kid stared up at him.
“The day..?” 007n7 got slightly embarrassed by the fact that he had to pause to think about what the day was. “It’s Thursday, I believe…”
“So I have school tomorrow!!!” C00lkidd beamed up at him, grin becoming wider.
“Yes, yes you do… Why are you so excited, kiddo?” He stared down at him, now smiling too.
“I get to see this new friend I made!! She’s so cool… We should have some sort of playdate at some point!!! Can we? Pleasee???” 007n7’s smile grew wider. He was really grateful that C00lkidd was enjoying the new school year. He had always been smart in school, but telamon, he hated anything to do with it. Especially the social aspect…
“Well I don’t know, kid; We’re going to have to ask her parents first.” C00lkidd nodded.
“I’ll ask!! I’ve heard her dad is REALLY cool!!!! Like, realllyyy really cool!! Like, thissssss cool!” As if to further exaggerate his point, he extended his arms out.
“Oh really?” 007n7 let out an amused chuckle. He was truly happy like this. Sure, it was a struggle at times to keep up payments, he’s had to go through multiple jobs at this point, but it’s all been to make sure that C00lkidd could have a better life, even with just one parent. “Well, I look forward to meeting him.”
“Yeah!!! He’s like, a hero!” That made 007n7 pause, his smile faltering for a moment. Well, you could be a hero without working for the admins… Even so, that wasn’t very likely, you’d be seen more as a vigilante.
Ever since becoming a full on father, 007n7 was always very wary about the administration as a whole. It didn’t help that he and Noli kind of just… Disappeared. Well, Noli kept on doing stuff without him for a bit, but he hasn’t heard or seen anything about his old partner for around 5 years. He doubted that the administration had caught him, or else everybody would know about it. 007n7 wondered if they would sell him out if he was caught.
Even so, he made sure the kid knew about the concept of heroes and villains, and like any good kid, C00lkidd grew up idolizing the administration. 007n7 couldn’t be more glad of his son.
“He sounds almost as cool as you, dad!!” C00lkidd’s voice brought him out of his thoughts. Of course, his child didn’t know of his previous identity as a notorious villain.
Nobody had to know. He had far moved past that.
Noob opened the door to their apartment, their cat coming over and greeting them.
“Hi Tac.” They crouched down, giving Tac a couple of pets. Noob was really tired from working, and what’s even worse was that they were on the verge of getting fired. Noob walked over to their couch, collapsing onto it. They closed their eyes, trying to rest for a bit. Tac came up by their side.
Noob remembered that they still had their work uniform on, and opened their eyes. Only to see their roommate staring back at them.
They almost fell off, also startling Tac who jumped off of the couch. “Sixer! I forgot you were home today!”
Sixer, their roommate, looked to the side, seemingly being a bit embarrassed by scaring them. He normally came home pretty late into the night, leaving in the afternoon on Thursdays. On the other hand, Noob worked throughout the day.
They used to love to go out sometimes and party to treat themselves, but with Noob on the verge of getting fired, they decided it’d be best to stop for a while. The both of them had to make sure that everybody in the apartment was fed, after all.
“I’m gonna go change, alright?” Noob got up and out of the couch, and Sixer nodded. Noob noticed him sitting on the couch while they left, with Tac curling up onto him.
They both had met in their first year of college, deciding to rent out an apartment together to cover their living expenses. It didn't take much to pay for the apartment, but the extra costs of owning a pet (plus the extra charges their landlord had made for them having the cat in their apartment) added up heavily over time. They didn't even own a car, but to be fair not many people owned cars around where they lived.
Getting rid of Tac was out of the question, both Noob and Guest loved him with their lives. Dropping out of college was also not viable, even if it was very hard to manage with their work life. Typically Noob would have to end up cramming in work after they’d make it home. Neither of them appeared on campus much, unless a class was required for them to have a certain number of attendances.
Noob came back out of the bathroom, going to the kitchen to get something. They ultimately just decided to cook themselves some instant noodles, also taking a bloxy cola from the fridge. I’ll have to buy some more at some point, we’re running out.
“Sixer?” They called out. Their roommate quickly was in the doorway to the kitchen. “Are you sleeping on the couch, or am I?”
The apartment they both lived in only had one bedroom, Most apartments in the area were like that, especially this close to the ground floor.
He pointed at the couch, which meant Noob had the bed tonight.
“Are you sure?” Sixer nodded in confirmation. It was quite late, Noob should get some sleep for tomorrow’s shift…
When they were finished eating their noodles, they saw Sixer on the couch playing with Tac with the new feather on a string with a stick cat toy thing that they had bought recently. They still didn't really know the name of those… Noob decided to go into the bedroom and get some early-ish rest.
…
They reawakened at around 11pm, getting up and stretching. They definitely needed that nap.
I hope Sixer’s having a good rest. Noob thought as they opened up the window.
They took a breath, before climbing out carefully.
“Can you believe that?! Four- Four separate unaffiliated people all faking their IDs? Within one whole hour of this place being open for the day? You have to agree Issac, that's absurd.” Chance made a tapping noise on his desk.
Currently, the two were inside Chance’s office in his own casino. They had just been ranting about how a total of four people had come in, faking IDs, not for drinks or anything of the sort, but so they could use their powers to help them cheat.
Now this sounded like a good, well thought out idea, if you were in a world where you were the only one with any sort of power.
People seriously didn't expect there to be sensors!? Not to mention the cameras and experienced people on staff. It pissed Chance off sometimes on how stupid some people could be.
The person he was ranting to for the past 15 minutes, Issac, nodded. The blond sat relaxed on a couch, holding a cup of wine. “People these days are pretty ignorant.”
Chance had only known Issac for a couple of months, quite quickly after getting full ownership of his casino. Issac was currently their only friend, and so they had the merits to travel around the casino just like staff. They had met when Chance was playing dealer once, and then he kept on coming back. They didn’t exactly know why he kept on coming back, Issac never gave an explanation, but it was nice having somebody like him to talk to.
“Yeah.” They agreed, sighing. Issac knew how Chance really felt about powers, the administration, villains… Truthfully, they didn't care. He just doesn't like getting involved in any of that. It kept his business well and running, staying neutral.
The only thing Chance really hadn't told Issac about yet is the fact that he's wanted by the literal Mafia, but they didn't have to tell him everything. They still thought the reasoning was stupid. It was rigged, sure, but somebody has to win at some point.
“I’m going to head back out there and play dealer.” Chance said as they got up. They really just wanted to take their mind off of everything.
“Alright. I’ll be here.” That was the last fully coherent thing Chance heard, before he opened the door to his office, the sounds from the main section of the casino were already pretty loud.
They walked through the hallways to get to the main area, instantly getting back into the atmosphere of the casino.
This is just how he’s been living life.
Notes:
okay to explain the ID thing if you didn't get it at the end - your ID has information about if the holder has any sort of known powers. places and events usually ask for IDs upon entries and usually if the place is rich enough the person who does have a power will get a wristband that essentially works like a power blocker. if not they usually just have you be highly monitored or can deny you serve if they deem that your power could be used to cause harm.
other than that i hope you guys liked the first chapter!! there'll be more to come trust
