He squinted at the tunnel ahead, brushing a bit of dust off the book’s cover. Some of the lines inside told him not to turn left, others mentioned weird sequences of numbers and words he couldn’t pronounce. Maybe it was some kind of puzzle, or a prank from whoever wrote it. Either way, Avery wasn’t the type to scare easily. Everyone who knew him said the same thing: tell Avery not to do something, and he’ll do it twice just to prove he can. It wasn’t bravery, exactly, more like stubbornness wrapped in curiosity and a dash of poor decision-making.
“Don’t turn left” he muttered with a grin, mimicking the book’s tone like it was daring him. “Sure, yeah, sounds like a great idea. Guess I’ll see what happens if I do.”

The thing is, these might be the weirdest.
He’s wiping down tables when the bell at the restaurant door rings, alerting him to a customer entering. He stands up straight, tucking the cleaning cloth back into his apron, before almost immediately cowering back.
Standing in the doorway is Don Sonnellino.
Or: Elliot is closing the pizzeria when a certain mafia boss (and his weird kid) wander in right before closing. Panic (both gay and in general) ensues. Also, Two Time is there and they’re precious.
