Chapter 1: ¿Wednesday?
Chapter Text
Police sirens and ambulance sirens could be heard everywhere. Enid was unable to concentrate on getting to where Wednesday was, completely terrified by what might have happened. It wasn't normal for Wednesday not to have arrived to meet her yet. Something bad must have happened.
“FESTER!” Enid shouted, briefly relieved to see him, thinking that Wednesday would be close behind. “Where's Wednesday? Why isn't she here yet?” Fester looked at her, confused and concerned. He had seen his niece just a moment ago and should have left already.
“I have to go now, or they'll catch me, but run over there, she can't be far!” He doesn't sound very confident, but he runs off when he sees that the police are nearby, looking for everyone who has escaped. “I'm sorry,” he says before disappearing completely.
“But Fester... what happened?” Enid is finally left speechless after Fester's disappearance.
Still very frightened for Wednesday, she decides to run away to Willow Hill, dodging all the patients excited about their release and dozens of police officers trying to capture them. Just as she enters the gates of the institution, she is stopped by a number of officers and ambulances who are stunned by something in the center of the square.
“You can't go any further, miss, we're handling the situation,” a police officer appears as Enid tries to dodge the police cars and see what's going on.
“I refuse, I'm going through. My... my... my friend is there. I don't know what could have happened to her. She should have come out by now,” she says the last part with tears streaming down her cheeks. Something bad must have happened. Something bad must have happened.
Just before trying to dodge the police officer again, thanks to her keen hearing, Enid hears a very low whisper calling her name. It was Wednesday. Straining her ears a little more, she tries to hear her heartbeat, which is getting slower and slower.
“Wednesday, no!” Enid screams desperately as she runs toward her, pushing aside all the police officers and cars in her path. What she sees before her eyes breaks her heart. She can't bear to see her Wednesday so badly hurt, can't bear to think about the mere possibility that she might be about to die. Again.
Without thinking twice, she ran over to Wednesday and picked her up, determined to save her life. She would worry about what had happened later. She would be faster than the ambulance, whose crew seemed stunned by the situation.
Wednesday couldn't die, no.
Chapter Text
Just when Enid was less than two minutes away from the hospital, completely terrified by Wednesday's condition—who was in her arms, half-unconscious, murmuring incomprehensible sounds, fighting for her life—they were attacked by a huge figure. Enid hugged Wednesday's body tightly, trying to protect her from the fall.
“This can't be happening right now. I have to get her to the hospital now,” she thinks as she gets up after the fall and gently lays Wednesday down next to a tree, determined to confront whoever was trying to stand in the way of her goal of saving her friend's life. "Please hang on a moment and we'll get to the hospital. Please don't die..." she says softly, tears streaming down her cheeks, just before giving her a loving kiss on the forehead.
When she turns around, she sees that the figure who had attacked them is Tyler, in his monstrous form, much, much bigger and stronger than the last time they fought on the day of the blood moon. However, Enid was not going to run away. She is sure that he is responsible for Wednesday's condition. No one can dare to hurt her... her friend and live for it.
“I DEFEATED YOU ONCE AND I DON'T MIND DOING IT AGAIN!” Enid shouts, completely overwhelmed by so many emotions. Anger at the stupid Hyde who had come back to bother them again, and fear for Wednesday's health. In addition to the intense feeling of protection she was feeling towards her, both confusing and determined.
A few seconds later, Enid, with all her emotions contained, begins to transform, determined to finish off the Hyde. With one of the most powerful growls ever heard from a werewolf, she lunges at Tyler.
The two were in much stronger forms than the last time they had met, but Enid, as her teacher had told her the day before, was an alpha and was not going to let her pack member die, because, yes, Wednesday was her true pack.
After a few moments in which both of them scratch each other with their strong claws, Enid catches him off guard and slams him against a distant tree, far from the small, wounded figure of Wednesday. She begins to choke him with her claws around his throat, just before remembering that they had to leave now or it would be too late. So, with a quick gesture, she raises one of her enormous claws and makes large cuts in the middle of his stomach, leaving him considerably wounded.
Once she sees that Tyler won't be getting up anytime soon, she runs over to Wednesday, still in her werewolf form, and gently picks her up. Without thinking twice, she rushes off to the hospital.
But not before hearing Wednesday's soft “thank you,” which breaks her heart and warms it at the same time.
----
As soon as Enid and Wednesday disappear from the scene, two mysterious women approach Tyler's trembling figure, amazed by the tremendous fight.
“They don't know how much they have yet to suffer,” one woman whispers to the other with a laugh. They pick up Tyler and disappear into the shadows of the forest.

Chapter Text
A few minutes after her encounter with Tyler, Enid arrives at the hospital door with Wednesday in her arms, still in her wolf form. When she sees that no one is there, her body returns to its human form and she begins to scream for help while cradling Wednesday, who is now completely unconscious. She could barely breathe.
“Help, please!” Several nurses and doctors come out of the hospital when they hear the cries for help. When they approach them to try to get them inside, Enid lets out a loud growl, unable to accept that they are taking Wednesday from her arms.
“Honey, we need to get her inside urgently. She needs surgery right now or it will be too late,” says one of the nurses, who is quite kind and manages to separate Enid from Wednesday, who is rushed inside.
They manage to take the werewolf to the waiting room, but they can't get her to agree to have the cuts that are still bleeding from the fight with Hyde treated. Heartbroken, she sits in one of the chairs furthest away from people, but with a good view of the operating room doors, from where the doctor would come out to tell her whether Wednesday was alive or dead.
With her eyes blurred from crying for several minutes, unable to control her emotions, she watches as a tall female figure approaches her. After wiping her eyes a little, she realizes that it is Morticia who is approaching her, looking terribly worried and confused.
“Enid... sweetheart...” Morticia gives her a hug before asking any further questions, seeing the disconsolate expression on the werewolf's face. “Take a deep breath and tell me what happened, sweet wolf. Where is Wednesday? Just as I was about to go to sleep, I felt I had to come here. I knew my daughter needed me," she gives her a moment to relax.
“Wednesday... she wanted to get into Willow Hill. She made a big plan to carry out an operation, but I don't know much because she never tells me everything... she's stubborn and... I stayed outside with Agnes keeping watch and in case we needed to call for help,” she pauses for a moment because of the sobs she can't control and takes a breath. "And then suddenly there's an explosion, the lights go out, a bunch of patients run out of there, and when I went looking for Wednesday, I found her... I found her in the middle of the square, with blood everywhere. She wasn't completely unconscious yet, but her heart was beating very slowly. Then... then Tyler attacked us on the way, which is why I think he was the one who attacked Wednesday at Willow Hill. I left him badly injured in the forest, but I couldn't do anything else. I'm so sorry, Miss. Addams. I should have stopped Wednesday. I should have saved her..." She begins to cry again, distraught.
“It's okay, dear, we both know how stubborn she can be. She finds it very difficult to open up and ask for help, but you are very important to her. I assure you, and that's saying a lot for an Addams, especially for Wednesday,” Morticia reassures her and gives her another hug to cheer up the young woman and herself, as her daughter's condition terrified her.
“But I should have protected her, she's very... very important to me. I can't explain it, she's... she's...” Enid is speechless for a second, amazed that she hadn't realized the truth until that very moment. That feeling of protection, of affection, of belonging that she felt towards Wednesday. Werewolves don't feel that way about just anyone. It has to be someone special, someone who stands out in the world of werewolves. “She's my mate! My mate! And I let... I let her get hurt... I let that Hyde get away alive!” She says the last part furiously, almost ready to get up, when Morticia's hand on her shoulder brings her back down to earth for a moment.
“I've known it since the first day you met, call it a mother's intuition or a dove's intuition. I assure you that you have done more than enough for my daughter, you did what was necessary at the time, you can't blame yourself for anything,” Morticia reassures her again. “By the way, I know my daughter is closed off when it comes to feelings. We Addamses all have our quirks, but she'll realize how much you mean to her, and she may be more sensitive than she appears,” she whispers the last sentence, as if it were the most precious treasure on earth.
“Thank you, Miss Addams. It’s comforting to know that Wednesday has such a loving and protective family by her side, even if it is in the Addams way,” she says with a wistful look. Enid wished she had a family like that by her side.
“Call me Morticia, dear. From now on, you are also part of our family,” the Addams matriarch affirms with a squeeze of her hand, adding immediately afterwards: “And now we’re going to get those cuts treated. We’re not going to let them get infected just because we’re worried about my daughter’s health.”
---
In the hospital infirmary, Morticia stays by Enid's side, aware of the young wolf's difficulty with needles and anything related to blood. While the nurses tend to her wounds, Morticia calls one of the Addams family's most trusted doctors, with whom Wednesday feels reasonably comfortable.
"Hello, Katie, I need you to come to Jericho Hospital as soon as possible. Wednesday is in very serious physical condition due to one of her investigations, and I'm afraid she's also going to need help with her psychic raven side. I think it may be affecting her physically, and this may have made everything worse. I'll see you tomorrow. Have a spooky day," she says quickly, without giving the person on the other end of the phone a chance to say a word. Enid looks at her with concern.
“What's wrong with Wednesday? Is it because of those seizures? Wasn't it a one-time thing? Wasn't it because of psychic exhaustion?” Enid's mind is filled with anxious questions, increasingly distressed about her mate.
“Don't worry about that now. Tomorrow our relative will come and she'll be able to tell us what's really going on with Wednesday. I should have called her weeks ago,” Morticia seemed frustrated, but she tried to calm Enid's spiraling anxiety. “Right now, the important thing is to wait for them to tell us she's okay and help her recover. The rest will come step by step.”
“That's right, miss... Morticia, everything will be fine, step by step,” it was Enid's turn to try to comfort Mrs. Addams, who was keeping up appearances in order to calm the little werewolf.
“Gomez and Pugsley must be about to arrive, I'm sensing them,” she says, clearly relieved that her beloved husband and son are finally arriving at the hospital.

I hope you like this chapter. Some things or characters won't be exactly the same, but hey, that's what fanfiction is for, right? :)
This chapter is longer, and I'll try to make them at least this long from now on.
