He was in love. Of course he was, but with his roommate?? that was crazy, insane, he felt like he was going mad even! Everyday he had to pretend he was'nt falling in love more and more with the other guy, and for what? to not ruin their dinamic, why of course! Noli was scared, but was a hopeless romantic nontheless. he knew that things would not be the same if seven found out his roommate was in love with him! What would he even think? Imagine that, Noli tells his crush about his super secret and Seven thinks he's a pervert! That would be the end of him, was he overthinking? Maybe, but better safe than sorry, right? If Seven really think that way, he would be gone! It would certainly be the end of his whole life, not having his dear seven at his side.. after all this years, if seven even tried to change rooms, to avoid noli, oh he would die. Noli would die!! He cant think of a life without Seven.
For the last few weeks, Noli himself has been trying to avoid Seven, not consciously, but in hope that this feeling would cease, in hopes that he would not love Seven as much anymore, but it felt like he was everywhere! How did noli not notice this before? They shared all the same classes, had the same “club” activities, and the worst part was genuinely being in their shared room. It felt too hot, too intimate, but only at Noli’s point of view probably. Everytime Seven tried to sit with him, he had an excuse to leave, mostly he said he was feeling sick, but that always led Seven to want and take care of him. Oh sweet sweet Seven, how come he is always so sweet and caring towards Noli?? It made Nolis work so much harder! How will he stop loving someone who makes him feel so loved?
He screamed in his pillow, masked tossed aside on the dirty floor of their room. Seven was out buying groceries, leaving Noli alone with his thoughs for almost an hour now. What's taking him so long? Noli though, already getting worried. He should not care that much! He's on a mission here, trying not to love Seven anymore, and this is- not helping at all!! He kicked his feet like a dumb child on the bed, rolling around and trying to wipe the feelings and thoughs out of his head, but of course it was no use, not even a small chance of success.
After some time, he stopped, staying dead still as something hit him: A plan, An actual Plan!! He zapped towards his desk, opening up his notebook with a convinced smile on his face, sliding his pen across the paper like his life depended on it (and on Noli’s eyes, it really did.)
**Noli’s amazing Plan: Fall out of love !!**
Step one - **Create Distance .**
why of course! he has been doing this already, its easy, he can do it. Maybe he can even try and change some of his classes to create even more distance, maybe he could even try and more rooms- no. Stupid dumb idea, he would notice something is wrong, and Noli does not want to break contact with him 100%, just until this sick feeling goes away, which lead him to step two:
Step two: **Focus on yourself**.
that's pretty simple, focus on hobbies and other stuff that makes noli not think about seven, and of course, makes noli happy. Could be a little easier if most of his hobbies weren't shared between him and the other man, like coding or even watching movies and shows, god, everytime noli tries to watch something seven always sits down with him to make him company, or when noli tries to code something by himself he finds it extremely difficult without seven’s help.. ugh, come on man get a grip, you can do this. okay, step three will actually help him a lot about this:
Step three: **Spend more time with other friends and beloved ones!**
Noli’s social life is not very good, having one or maybe two friends besides Seven, and them being Seven’s friends as well.. maybe he could go out and actually talk to other people instead? But that only makes him anxious, Seven is always at his side, helping him with groups of people since Noli is extremely awkward and anxious. So, step four can definitely cover this hole:
Step four: **Replace the space.**
Of course Noli does not see Seven as someone he can replace, but the role he has in Noli’s life can certainly change, the same way other person can become his new Seven! Again, not because he wants to replace Seven, but he just needs to have someone else to spend time with, that share the same interests, that likes the same food as him, the same movie genres, has the same sleep schedule, knows how Noli works, understands his feelings better than himself- ok nevermind, that may be a dumb idea, this sounds too much like a soulmate for Nolis distress. Step four is most definitely not going to work, but he can always try, it does not hurt to try, does it?
Three steps are enough, he thinks to himself, closing his notebook with a long tired sigh. He hopes it works, he really does, his heart hurts so much, and every day that passes it feels even worse. A door opens in their dorm, snapping Noli out of his thoughts; Seven is back. He can act normally right? There's nothing wrong! His dear friend seven is back and- fuck he forgot his mask!
Seven enters the room and sees a Noli throwing himself on the floor, making a loud thud. He stay there, trying to process the scene of his best friend throwing himself on the floor while he holds both the door handle and groceries, extremely confused. When his brain finally process everything, he leaves the groceries behind and sprints towards Noli, trying to make him sit up-
“nols?? are you okay?? what happened, are you hurt??” Noli quickly fixes his mask on his face, trying his hardest for seven not to see him in such a vulnerable space. Yes, he have seen Noli’s face before, but it was just one time, and Noli swore he would never have to see his face again. Noli didn't think he was ugly, he was just not- eye appealing enough to not wear a mask. The mask made him feel comfortable, being able to talk and be himself without having to worry about eye contact or trying to look more human to others.
Noli awkwardly laughed, waving both his hands in front of his face as he sat up. “Its nothing! I just- slipped, yeah! Don't worry please, haha” he flinched a little when seven came closer to check if he was really fine, putting a hand on his neck to check if he had a fever. Noli felt the blush on his face behind the comedy mask, his eyes flickering between seven’s eyes and mouth, his heart beating so fast he had to hold his breath- then, all of a sudden, seven stood up with a sigh.
“You need to be more careful, Nols. Almost gave me a heart attack!” He giggled, offering his hand to help Noli stand up with him, a sweet gesture that melted Noli’s heart as he took Seven’s hand.
“s-sorry.. hah-” Noli fidgets with the hem of his hoodie while Seven gets the grocery bags and closes the door, putting said bags on top of the kitchen counter. “Help me here, will you then?” He smiles kindly at Noli, who feels a twist on his stomach, another wave of blush going through his cheeks. “Why, of course.” Mumbles, already walking towards the counter and getting some of the stuff out of the plastic bags.
God, falling out of love is going to be so so difficult.
