“I can be good to you,” Caitlyn says then, syrup-sweet, a finger grazing her pallid cheek, coming to cup her chin in the palm of her hand, “if you’ll just let me.”
The girl winces at the touch but doesn’t recoil, eyes now locked with a corner of the room. She chuckles, teeth bared, a hollow throaty sound.
“If nothing else, I’m a hell of a meal ticket,” she adds with a wry smile.Jinx snorts another humorless laugh, eyes finally refocusing on her. “So what do you want?”
And it’s an uncalculated response, something a fully level-headed Caitlyn would balk at, but something about the intensity in the girl’s eyes makes her want to meet it in kind, give her a little peek behind the curtain.
“Everything,” she admits, voice breathy, ravenous grin curling her lips, “all of you.”
