Eight for a letter over the sea [podfic]

Summary:

The house was freezing; Frank missed the heat of Shanghai. He missed knowing the fucking rules. He missed being able to walk somewhere, anywhere, without tripping over magpies with every step. This was not good fortune.

Notes:

Zee, I know you love Merrick, so here's a podfic to brighten your day.

I was rolling around in a puddle of goo when nopinkertons (sneakily! anonymously! not even signed up for the exchange!) gifted me this fic. Frank Merrick's voice was pitch perfect inside a masterful alt-POV, and I immediately wanted to read it out loud. I hope you enjoy this almost as much as I do.

The number of magpie calls I mixed together are eight (of course), eleven for England, twenty-nine for general cacophony, and all-of-them-I-could-find-smooshed-together for justice. And finally, a single recording of two magpies bickering, for Frank Merrick and Lucien Vaudrey's love that's true as can be.

But, on the other hand, magpies aren't the most melodious of birds, to say the least, so you may not want them cawing in your ears.
