In The Silent Places

Summary:

Some random poems I wrote

Hiiiiiii! These poems are the quiet spots where you can hide and feel calm, like the secret places in nature and those little magical moments. I wrote them to help you chill out and think.

Updates every other Monday ^-^

Notes:

this poem is in a tanka prose style, its about 1 oddly specific gorge me and a friend spent a lot of time in at a scout camp

Chapter 1: Early Light

Chapter Text

The gorge holds its breath in the early light. A fallen trunk arcs across the creek, slick with night rain. The gurgling stream flows between boulders, curling silver ribbons around dark, shifting stones. In the undergrowth, bracken leans low with the weight of glistening dewdrops. Damp moss clings to the twisted roots of towering gums. Somewhere close, a wren bursts into a short, sharp trill, and a wallaby freezes mid-hop, as if caught in a game it didn't agree to play. Sunlight filters through leaves, carrying the crisp scent of eucalyptus, scattering soft shapes and shadows across the water. The sun peeks over the ridge as it wraps the day in a quiet glow.

Sunlight on still bark

A dragonfly hovers near

Water weaves around stones

The hush between each heartbeat

Lets the morning stay unbroken
