Rick Grimes has survived the apocalypse for several years now. All of his friends, family, and even loved ones have all passed on as he lives life by himself. One day, as he is strolling along to scavenge the forest for mushrooms, he hears a loud sound. He is unsure of what it is, but it sounds cartoony and whimsical. Rick looks for cover as he tries to scout out what that noise is. Finally, he lays eyes on a man who only appears to be roughly five feet tall. What Rick sees causes him to go in shock as he watches a short Italian man stomping on the heads of zombies, bouncing across one by one, shouting things such as, “Mama Mia” or “Let’s-a go!”
Rick watches as the man effortlessly takes down the zombies, lowering his own guard. The man turns around and sees Rick behind the tree and walks up to him, realizing he is not a Zombie. The man offers Rick a hand to stand up Rick asks, “Who are you?” The man replies, “It’s-a me, Mario!” Rick takes his hand as they stand together. “Well, Mario, that sure was some damn fine zombie stomping!” Mario replies, “Wahoo!” “Wahoo, indeed, Mario,” Rick says as he hears another person approaching. “Another zombie?” Rick asks. Mario replies, “Mama Mia!” loudly as the person approaches slowly. The other man removes his hood, and underneath, they see a gangly white man with greasy black hair who looks a lot like Alan Rickman.
The man introduces himself as Severus Snape, to which Rick says, “Snape?” and Mario asks, “Snape?” and Severus says, “Severus Snape.” The three stand awkwardly after their introductions until Rick says, “Listen, guys, I was out foraging for mushrooms. Would the two of you care to accompany me?” Snape and Mario nod in agreement as they go out into the forest. Hours pass, and many mushrooms are found, some of which appear to be poisonous. Snape takes the poisonous-looking mushrooms and turns them into several potions, which he keeps on his person. Mario takes one of the large red mushrooms and decides to eat it. “No, Mario! That’s not- ” Rick exclaims just as Mario swallows the mushroom whole. Mario’s body begins to glow rapidly as he doubles in height to be nearly ten feet tall. Rick looks in awe as Mario doubles in size. Immediately after, Mario begins foaming at the mouth. Rick was trying to warn him that he had eaten a toxic and deadly mushroom, but it was too late. Mario dies. “Mama Mia…” Rick says as tears flow down his face. Snape is in shock at what just happened and tries to comfort Rick. Rick doesn’t know what to do, as he wishes to give his new friend a proper burial, but it’s pretty hard to do that when your friend is ten feet tall. The pair leaves Mario’s body in the warehouse that they are in, as they continue their new adventures into America after it had disintegrated into the apocalyptic wasteland that it is now.
