Chapter Text
Walking into the classroom knowing that it was a crossover between students from each year made Sebek feel stress. But also excited, knowing that his liege will be in the same room as him making it easier for him to be a proper guard to his beloved soon-to-be ruler of Briar Valley.
“Yo! Sebek!”
His happy mood immediately diminished when heard the grating voice of another first year coming towards him. He turns and instead doesn’t find one, but the entire squad of first years heading to where Sebek stood in front of the classroom.
“Humans! How dare you call out to me right as I am about to enter the class–” Sebek shivered as Ace wrapped an arm over his shoulder. Sebek was much taller than Ace so he smirked a bit seeing Ace having to be on his toes in order to reach his shoulders.
“Wipe that smirk off your face,” Ace grumbled. “Anyways, I still can’t believe we managed to get a spot in this mixed class.”
“I can’t believe you made it into this class.” Jack says as the rest of the group catches up to the pair.
“I can see Deuce but you? Seems like pity to me.”
“Oi! What’s that supposed to mean?!” Ace yells. Jack huffs but he smirks and crosses his arms.
“Nothing much.”
“You–”
Sebek ignores the rest of what Ace shouts at Jack and spots Epel and Deuce also coming right up to them. Epel waves at Sebek but notices the one-sided argument and gives Sebek a questioning look.
“Are they at it again?” Epel asks which Sebek nods.
“Dammit, I was supposed to win that bet with Yuu…” Epel mumbles. Deuce nods solemnly too, which Sebek assumes he also lost the bet with Yuu as well.
“It’s a good thing they aren’t in this class as well, heard he got caught up in what the Headmaster wanted of them,” Deuce says. “They were so angry…”
“Should we head in now?” Deuce asks.
“Ah shit– Is my outfit aight? I don’t want Vil to start criticizing before I even take a seat.” Epel says.
“It’s fine!” Deuce responds. Epel stares at him but turns to Sebek for a second opinion.
“I don’t need to give you confirmation again! You already know my answer.”
Epel shrugs but drags the two of them into the classroom without any warning. Sebek struggles in Epel’s grip but realizes soon enough it was no use to what strength Epel has. Jack and Ace also followed along with their argument ending shortly after.
As Sebek was pulled through, he noticed the classroom looked like the lecture halls Headmaster Crowley uses for announcements and such. It was quite big and there were many groups separated by dorms.
On the right side of the room gathered the Heartslabyul, Savanaclaw, Octavinelle and Scarabia students all of which Sebek recognized a few and others he had heard from the other first years. The left side contains Pomefiore, Ignihyde and Diasomnia (his dorm!) all of which were the same in recognizable faces.
“Is it just me, or is everyone here someone we know?” Ace wonders. Jack hums but doesn’t give a reply as he walks towards what Sebek assumes is to his dorm leader but was stopped and dragged by Epel into one of the front seats empty.
“Ain’t no way I’m heading over there when there’s a spacious seat right ‘ere!” Epel slides into the bench and pats the empty seats next to him. Jack sighs and takes a spot on his left. Ace and Deuce took the right only for the two of them to trip and stumble into it.
“Ack– Juice! You dumbass, we don't need to fight for this spot!”
“It’s Deuce! And get off! Your legs are digging into my stomach!”
Sebek grimaces at the thought of hanging out with the rest of them but knowing Lilia and the words he spoke about hanging out with people his age, he didn’t want to disrespect Lilia’s request. So he silently sat next to Jack as the rest of them gave him surprised looks.
He was starting to feel embarrassed at the stares and crossed his arms. “What? Have something to say?”
“Ah- No- Just… you don’t want to hang out with us most of the time,” Epel explains. “Not unless you have a reason but–”
“Aww is little Sebek getting soft on us?” Ace teased, to which he narrowly dodged the fist swing from Sebek. Doesn’t stop from the oncoming attacks which Jack was trying to get it to stop and Epel encouraged it. Deuce on the other hand wanted to sink into his chair to prevent him from choosing which side he wanted to be on.
The group was in their own world, as their shouts and yells grew louder by each second. The upperclassmen all either rolled their eyes or sighed at their freshmen making a scene.
“Tch, can’t they quiet down already? My ears are getting numb.” Leona says leaning more into his seats. Ruggie snickers.
“Can’t believe Jack got roped into that group there, wonder where the Prefect is anyway?”
“Eh, who cares. Just want this class to be over already.”
“I dragged you here anyway! I’m not letting you miss a class that’s worth half our grade! What if I grab you one of those roast beef sandwiches during lunch?”
Leona waves his hand in reply not giving Ruggie a verbal response which Ruggie sighs and turns his attention away from his housewarden.
On the other side of the room, Ortho was debating whether he should join the rest of the first years, or stay with his brother. Taking a glance at his brother, he was occupied with Lilia who was chatting with him about the new games that were released with trailers earlier in the week. Ortho felt proud seeing his brother more confident in his social skills.
‘Although…’ Ortho watches as his brother starts sweating over Rook suddenly joining the conversation all of a sudden.
“Oh how delightful it is to see Roi de sa Chambre out of his shell! It is such a wonderful scene to see him chatting about the upcoming games of the year!”
“How did I get stuck in this unskippable cutescene..!”
“Oh, you don’t need to flatter him so much Rook! But it is such an improvement from that floating tablet you use so often.” Lilia smirks and leans into his hand. India gulps and looks at Ortho who is slowly floating away towards the first year group, unaware of his brother’s continuing struggles.
‘Ortho no! Save your brother! Please!’
The fighting between the two finally stopped and Sebek was more than grateful for the peace that came with it. Even if it only ended for a few minutes before Ace suddenly starts something with Deuce again.
“Hello Jack and Sebek!” Ortho comes floating up to them and takes a seat next to Sebek. His eyes showing his happiness as Jack gives him a nod and Sebek greets him.
“Did Ace start another fight already?” Ortho asks.
“Yes he did! It is getting quite annoying.” Sebek says. “When will this class even start–”
A loud piercing noise covers the room causing everyone to cover their ears especially the beastmen who growls and folds their ears to their head.
“What the hell is happening?!” Ace yells.
“What?! What did you say?!” Deuce yells as well.
It continues for a few moments before it abruptly stops. Everyone was confused about what was happening, only for the doors to be locked and a huge holographic screen pops up in the front of the class.
“Oh my sevens, what the fuck is that?!” Epel yells, pointing to the pink holographic screen.
Sebek was on guard about to run towards where his liege was, only for the screen to suddenly glitch out and produce text.
“It’s like a system! From the games my brother plays!” Ortho says. “I tried scanning it but I can’t sense any magical emission from it.”
[Hello]
[Welcome to the Reaction Room. Enjoy.]
‘...Are you kidding me.’ Sebek thinks. He wasn;t the only one as everyone in the room was not having any of this.
“I’m out, have fun with this.” Leona says as he walks towards the exit but then the screen appears in front of the door and Leona gets even angrier at the message.
[You may not leave until you finished today's scenes]
“...Fuck.” Leona says. “This is getting ridiculous.”
“It pains me to agree with you,” Vil says, appearing right behind Leona.
“...You need to stop.”
“And stop what exactly?”
“Everything.”

The pair grumbles but head towards their original spots, although everyone is a bit on edge assuming nothing is coming in or going out. Especially Idia who realizes something very familiar about this.
“It's like… I'm in one of those stories where the main cast gets to watch their future! Oh no, am I going to watch my future?!” Idia starts freaking out but before he could even start, the screen suddenly starts counting down.
[10]
“Maybe this could have some useful information.” Azul slowly brings out a notepad from his blazer and his pen already prepared to take notes.
Riddle notices this, shakes his head and gives Azul a tired look.
“At least be more discreet with your intentions, Azul.”
[9]
“Hey Jamil! Do you think this could be a movie? It talked about ‘scenes’ for us to watch!” Kalim wonders.
“Maybe it could be something fun to watch!”
‘I hope it's short.’ Jamil prays.
[8]
“...Can I not do this?” Idia mumbles.
“Aww, but perhaps it's nothing harmless and just a little bit of fun.” Lilia says.
‘Though…’ Lilia looks at the countdown. ‘It is pretty pink. How cute.’
[7]
“Neh, Jade, you think this countdown can go any faster? This is killing me from how slow it is.” Floyd groans, leaning close into his twin.
“Patience, it's going to start soon.”
“Uuugghhhhh.”
[6]
Malleus watches the screen with such interest that Silver feels a foreboding sense of destruction.
Or it might be sleep. Either one, Silver was not looking forward to it.
[5]
“It's like the movies, I'm actually getting kind of nervous.”
[4]
“Seriously? You always get nervous at random things, Juice.”
“It's Deuce!”
[3]
“You think this might happen again tomorrow? Hopefully so, at least it's a lot better than Vil’s beauty sessions.”
[2]
“I understand but you're messing up my tail.”
“But it's so fluffy! Even Ortho is having fun!”
Jack sighs.
[1]
Sebek watches with great interest. Prepared for any threat that might come against anyone in this room.
‘Don’t worry, I shall protect you my liege!’ Sebek then looks around the room.
‘...And everyone else.’
